Chapter 11: 3 days till Christmas

Nori:

“Nori!” I heard downstairs. I looked at my phone and it was 8:27pm. I had been asleep since Dani got here. Being pregnant isn’t the move, I’m sleepy 24/7 and the baby moves mostly when I’m sleep. I was so relieved I could wear what I wanted I had on a cupcake onesie and some fuzzy slippers with a Cardigan. “Uhh yess” I groaned. I walked down the stairs and walked into the living room. “Yesss!” I yelled. I see MJ stand up from the couch, he looked over to the other couch where Andre’ was sitting. My heart dropped. Being that I was pregnant and emotional, I couldn’t help but to start crying. “Wha- How are you here?” I asked him. He stood at 6’1 towering over my 5’6 height. He pulled me into him. Kissing my face all over and my lips multiple times. I held his face in my hands, because I felt like I was tripping. He placed his hands on my stomach. “My babies” He said. “What’s going on?” Janessa said, Mama was behind her. “Um, hi I’m Andre’ Nori’s boyfriend” Andre’ said extending his hand. I was still speechless. “I’m Janessa her big sister, nice to finally meet you. Nori been needing you” She said hugging him. My mama just looked him up and down. “Norielle had an anxiety attack and passed out 2 days ago, and was in the hospital where were you?” She asked. Andre’ looked at me with concern. “I didn’t know, Nori are you okay, is he is okay, I’m here now. I’ve never leaving your side” He told me. I nodded. “He was moving around the whole time they said, he’s good, I’m good even better now that your here” I said. “I’m her mother Sharice by the way” She said crossing her arms. Andre’ opened his arms and hugged her. “You have an amazing daughter mam, I see where she gets that from” He said. My mom lightly smiled. “You love Nori?” She asked. He nodded and smiled brightly. “She’s all I ever thought about when I was away” He said. Mama looked at him. “I mean school just ended almost 2 weeks ago you must be really in love” She said. I nodded. “Savannah is 4hours away mommy” I said looking at Andre’ who understood that I didn’t want them to know he was in jail for 4 ½ months. “You can stay here Andre’ Nori’s father will be back in some days and we need to have a talk” She said. He nodded. “Just warning you he’s very hard to talk to” She told him. I introduced him to the family. They talked for a while. My mom let him stay in my room because I mean I’m already pregnant. “You love the color pink huh?” Dre’ said looking around my room. I nodded. I closed the door and he pressed me lightly up against the door and kissed me. We hadn’t kissed like this in 5months. “I missed shit like this with you” He said to me. I nodded. “How did you get out?” I asked. He shrugged. “Honestly man I don’t know, yesterday the cops came to my cell said I was going home, and all the charges were dropped, the ran the footage back in the garage and seen it was somebody else that through it in my car” He said. My heart dropped cause even though I was happy Andre’ was out I was scared my brother would go in no matter how much I hate him right now, that’s not what I want for him or anybody. I laid on the bed, and Andre undressed down to his boxers and got in the bed with me. I could tell he cleaned himself up before coming over here, haircut and all. He laid his head on my stomach as he rubbed at it. “Hey little man, this is your Daddy. I heard that if I talk to you a lot you will start to notice my voice. I’m sorry I haven’t been here but I’m here now” He said. I wiped at my tears because I felt so bad that my brother had set Andre’ up and fucked up our lives for 5 months. I know it wasn’t my fault but not telling Andre’ that it was Narkim to keep the peace is killing me because I love them both. “What’s wrong baby?” He asked. I shook my head. “This feels crazy, like I’m not going to do this by myself” I said. He got up towards me and kissed my forehead. “It’s you and I verses the world now, I’m free I got my girl and my baby like it’s not how I planned life to be but I’m happier then I been in 5 months” He said. I nodded. “You tell your parents?” I asked. He shrugged. “Not yet, you know they just getting used to me being out, that’s too much right now”. He said.

Narkim:

I had been gone for a while. I was hoping to talk shit out with my twin and maybe putting it behind us. I know that I can’t undo the pain Andre’ endured or my sister for 5 months but i can try to make shit right. I walked into the house to the smell of French toast. “Yo Narkim you came back in time. Momma making that baked French toast that be so bomb” Damien said to me as I walked towards the kitchen. “Finally,” Mama said. She was putting the bacon on a plate and bringing it into the dining room. “Hey mama sorry I needed a little time with my girl” I told her. She nodded. “I saw your little girlfriend at the hospital, I’m happy if your happy and she’s not using you” She said. I shook my head. “Nah she good” I told her. She smiled. “Well bring her over for Christmas Eve Eve dinner, it’s a big dinner were having as our last Christmas dinner as a big family for a while” She said. I nodded. “Aight bet”. I kissed her cheek and walked into the dining room hearing laughter. “Hey yall” I said. It was Nylah, Janessa my nephew Chase, Dylan and MJ and Vada at the table. “Aye Nari you back” Vada said hugging me. “Where’s Nori?” I asked. MJ looked at me. “Uhh um” Before he could say anything, I seen Nori enter the dining room hand in hand with Andre’. “Hey fam” She said. She looked over at me. “Hey Nor, Andre’ man I’m happy you here” I said not sure if Nori told the family he was in jail. He came over to me and dapped me up. “Man I’m happy to be here” He said to me. “Nor can we talk?” I asked. Everyone looked between us. “Sure” She said. She followed me out to the hall. “What Narkim?” She asked. “I’m sorry man, I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you I’m sorry I did it. I love you to death man I put that on my life. I would die for you. You my sister yo just please can you forgive me?” I asked. She laughed a little. “I want to hate you so bad, I want you to rot in jail for what you did to him but then again I don’t, I can’t forgive you right now Narkim, maybe it’s the hormones but I want to throw up just looking at you. I’m so disgusted in how you did Andre’ ” She said before walking off. I swallowed the knot I had in my stomach. Shit hurt bad to have my sister mad. I could feel how much she was mad at me. I came back to the table and MJ dapped me up. “Man just give it time” He told me.

Janessa:

Daddy has been distant, Christmas was in 3 days. I know he’s still mad at me and enjoying his life with his little girlfriend. Even though Dylan has gotten himself a job. I still was looking forward to the money daddy was going to give me. “So I need yall to handle the Christmas stuff” my mom said. I gathered up the girls, and Chase. Danielle was meeting us at the Mall to get some shit for the kids for Christmas Eve. I was walking downstairs with Chase who had on his little snow suit. In L.A. we didn’t get snow and so he was very intrigued with it. “Yall ready?” I asked. Nori was eating chips waiting on the bar stool in the kitchen. “Yeah” She had on a jumpsuit and a bomber jacket with her snow boots. She was normally dressed in baggy clothes but now she has been showing off her bump now that everyone knows. Vada came downstairs brushing her hair. She had just got it done and was always brushing it. “Where’s Ny?” Nori asked. “Oh yeah she moved into the Guesthouse, I get her” Nori said. Vi helped her off the bar stool, and she walked outside. “Look at my Chasey Pooh” Vi said picking him up and kissing on him. There was a knock at the door. “I’ll get it” Vi said putting Chase down. “Hey Vada, where is Janessa” I heard. I sighed it was my father. “Kitchen” I heard Vada say. I heard him walk in the kitchen as I was putting Ice in Chase’s sippy cup. “Hello Janessa” He said. I turned to look at him. “Hello Daddy” I said softly smiling. “Can we talk alone?” He asked. I nodded. “Um Vada can you pack Chase some Cheez-itz in his diaper bag” I told my sister. She nodded. My dad brought me into his old downstairs study. “Have a seat” He told me. I sat down and looked at him. “Im very disappointed in you” He told me. “I expected better for you, okay you want to get married but all the black men in the world why him” He asked me. i hadn’t seen him in 4 days and this what he comes back to talk about. I sighed. “Daddy, I love him for him not his skin color, I mean not to be rude Daddy, but I don’t want to talk about this, he is my husband and the father of my son” I said. He nodded slowly. “Im just hurt you got married and had a baby behind our back, for two years Janessa! You been lying to us, I been sending you money everything! I can’t except it” He said. I got up and looked at him. “That’s okay with me daddy, but you will miss out on your grandson, and on my life if you can’t except it” I told him. “Janessa don’t you walk away from me!” He demanded. I walked out and closed the door. I heard him follow me into the dining room. Vada was giving Chase some crackers. He grabbed for me. “Mommy up up” He said. I picked him up and seen my dad looking at us. Chase waved his little hand. My dad kissed Vada on the cheek and looked at me, before walking out. I heard my mom at the door. “What now Malcom!” She yelled. Vada looked at me. “He stubborn as fuck” I told her. “He will come around” She told me. I sighed. “Yeah but now Christmas Eve Eve dinner is going to be extremely awkward with Norielle, like Im ready for this all to be over” I told her. Nori and Nylah came into the house. “Ready” They said. I nodded. Vi grabbed the keys and we loaded up in the car, I heard a door slam and I see My mom and Grandma Rudy coming towards the SUV. “Were coming too” She said. I sighed. “Yall going to find a Santa?” She asked. Nori shook her head. “No were getting the cookies and the pajamas for the pictures” She told mom. “Well fine I will get the Santa, yall talk to Dani?” My mom asked. “Yeah she called me and told me she will meet us at the mall and will be back tomorrow” I told her. My mom nodded, and we rode to the mall.

Mj:

Today was they day we had to get shit for Christmas, it was only 3 days away and we still aint had no tree. “Aye Andre you can come with us to get a tree” I said to Nori’s Boyfriend. I slick felt crazy inviting him out with us because of Narkim but he was going to be in the family soon and we needed to get to know him. He smiled. “Sure” Damien was supposed to help Nylah go find Santa for the kids but he said they wasn’t cool right now so it literally was just the niggas, including Dylan. We loaded up in the truck When Michael pulled into the drive way. I walked up to his car. “What up Mike” I said dapping him up. He put his hands in his pocket. “How’s Sky?” He asked referring to Vada. I shrugged “she been okay” I said. He nodded. “We going to get the tree, it turned into a nigga field trip, you down?” I asked. He smiled and nodded. He got in the truck next to Dylan and they dapped each other up. We went downtown to the tree farm. “Man why can’t mama just get a fake ass tree” Damien said. “Yo this a bomb ass tree, let’s get this” Narkim said. The tree was big asf. “Man how we supposed to put this on the truck?” I asked. “We can just tie it down” Andre said. Michael nodded. “Yeah we can do this” I sighed and went to find the worker to help us get this on the truck. After the tree farm, we drove back home. I pulled Michael to the side. “Aye look man, Vi done did some stupid shit but she loves you sooo please just make up and squash this shit” I told him. He nodded and went inside the house. Narkim was in the house and Andre was helping me set the tree up so the girls can decorate and stuff. “So I know you was in jail for a while” I said to him. He slowly nodded. “Yeah but I didn’t do shit” He said. I nodded. “I know, I been in and out at one point in my life, so I know it’s tough in there” I said. “I want to just do right by Nori and our son, I want to get my degree and be the best man I can be” He said to me. I smiled at him. “Im happy my baby sis got somebody that cares a lot about her” I told him. He smiled and nodded. “Yeah Im crazy about that girl”. Narkim slowly walked into the family room. “Um a Gia is outside for you” He told me. I sighed. I grabbed my coat and went on the porch. I seen Gia standing there. “Yo you tripping” I told her. She rolled her eyes. She looked down and then looked back up at me with teary eyes. “When you came back after you and Danielle had a break, and we slept together. I got pregnant. That’s the 3rd time I had been pregnant by you. The first time I had an abortion and the 2nd time I lost the baby. I gave birth to our daughter Brielle Maria Richards on July 5th 2015, at 5months pregnant, she died” She said looking at me. I started laughing. “Gia stop lying to me” I told her. She showed me a picture in her phone. “I was scared to tell you, I was scared you wouldn’t be there for me and never come back but then I decided that I didn’t want to keep that secret from you anymore, you needed to know the shit you put me through, so here I am letting you know,” She said before grabbing her phone and getting in her car and leaving. I sat there in a daze.

Vada:

I was in my room getting dressed in Christmas pajamas we bought today at the mall. Nessa wanted us to decorate the tree in festive looking pajamas. I heard a knock at my door. “Coming” I heard my door open revealing Michael. “Hey” He said. He closed the door behind him. He smiled at me. “You look so damn cute” He said to me. I tried to hide my smile. “I um, I’m sorry for needing space, I’m sorry for just up and leaving like that but I felt unappreciated, I didn’t come here to restart old drama, and have you lying to me yearning for some old nigga” He told me. I sighed and nodded. “Im sorry for letting that shit get to me, I take full responsibility for everything” I said. He grabbed my hand and opened the door. He brought me downstairs. “Ladies and Gentlemen, can I have a moment please!” He yelled out. “What are you doing?” I asked. He walked over to the surround system in the family room and plugged up his phone to the aux. The song started to play. He turned around and started lip syncing.

The song went into the instrumental break and they did a choreographed move. My mom came into the house with Stephan looking at them. Everyone was standing around and recording. Michael slid over to me “I do, you do, Birds and bees do too, I love you, you love me. And I know, Whoa oh whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, I call your name and it eases the pain”. He got on one knee as my brothers continued to do a twostep behind him. He pulled out the ring he had took from me. “Sky, Vada Breanna Richards will you do me the honor of being my wife?” He asked me. I was smiling so hard my cheeks heart. I nodded. “Yes!!!!” I yelled. He slid the ring on my finger and kissed me. “Omg my baby is getting married!” My mama yelled jumping up and down. “Ima call you a planner and everything after Christmas” She said. I nodded and smiled. “Okay mama let’s get through this holiday season first” I said to her. Everyone clapped. “Yay My sissy getting married” Nori ran to me hugging me. I rubbed her baby bump. “Now baby boy can be in the wedding” I said. She smiled and nodded. “I know!” Janessa hugged me. Baby Chase gave me a hug too. Everyone was hugging me and congratulating me the only person to tell now is Daddy.

Damien:

Lately I had been thinking about ways to get Nylah to talk to me. I messaged her but she blocked me. I left her a note in the guest house. Since Andre has came, Nylah has moved into the guest house. But since Michael is back she was switching rooms with Vi. She put the note back by my room shredded. It seems that the only way I can get her back is the old school way. It was thick as fuck snow outside and it started to snow a little more. I debated about going outside. I just knocked on Vi’s old room door. Nylah lightly opened the door then looked and me and closed it. I sighed. It seems I’m have to do what Michael did but really singing. Nylah really liked Boys 2 men. I sighed and started snapping my fingers.

Norielle and Andre, Janessa and Dylan, and Narkim was looking at me and MJ doing some old school dancing in the hallway, and started to join us in singing and snapping. Nylah covered her face blushing.

“Ayeeeee” Narkim said dancing with everybody. I looked at everyone awkwardly. They quickly went about their business. “Thanks MJ” I said. He dapped me up no problem lil bro. He went back into his room closed the door. I went towards Nylah she backed up and I closed the door to Vi’s room. “I cut off all that shit with Kristen, I mean Ms. Madison. I don’t want her. I want you, just you and just us” I told her. She sat on the bed and palmed her face. “I don’t know its going to be hard to not think of you with her. I need time, but I accept your apology” She told me. She stood up and kissed me. I kissed her back, but she broke the kiss. “Give me time” She said. I nodded and left the room.

5. time you cried: haha i don't actually remember the context of it (i could find out tho haha cus i sent da pic to my best friend) but i took a pic of it while i did it which was on... july 16 hahaha. Oh but w8 oh sht i think i cried after that fudge w8 i don't remember the date (i think i can find this out too hahaha) but i wrote a sortof goodbye confessions letter to one of my dear friends and i wrote there that i externally cried (b4 i just said internally haha) so i'm not entirely sure i cried but i think im pretty sure i teared up hehe

6. dated someone twice: hahaha i haven't even had a legit love interest yet 😆😂 buuutt my best friend and i have "dated" as in spent entire days together w/ just the two of us, we even went to mcdonalds for valentine's day and got each other gifts hihihi aahhh gosh i miss her :'(

7. kissed someone and regretted it: haha im not even sure if dis happened and i have no plans on asking her about it but i remember when i was a kiddo, when my sis came home for some reason i kissed her on the lips hahaha dont remember if accidental or i just brain farted heck i aint even sure if it happened but das all i can answer cus well like i said, see #6 😆😂😆😂

8. been cheated on: hhmmm probs not, i have no idea if ive been cheated on in an unromantic way hahaha but in da romantic way, like i said, no love interest hahaha

Oh w8 does being someone's crush (i aint sure but it seemed like it) and crushing on dat dude but dat dude crushing on someone else too count as cheating? 😆😂😆😂

9. lost someone special: yes, all of my grandparents are dead. I've also lost pets, and i fear i may lose some of my friends due to the distance among us in this time of our lives

10. been depressed: i always wanna be careful over how to define depression. Like wat constitutes it... but yes, i think i have. Not sure, mind you, but yes, at the beginning of gr 7 i was really alone, i think i was bullied and i think i was depressed and going thru a really dark phase of my life back then. But then again, i have to say, i'm not sure.

11. gotten drunk and thrown up: hahaha nope. I'm looking forward to getting drunk tho. Im currently underage so im not allowed to drink dat much yet but yeah i wanna know my limits hehehe i hope im da kinda gurl who can handle her liquor but i have drank and i have to say it made me all loopy and weird and just like woke or high or something hahaha so yeah man im excited to get trashed on my 18th bday hahaha (hopefully i get to do this tho huhuhu)

15. made new friends: yyeeesssss and i'm so glad i have hihi. I have made friends w/ a select group of my blockmates and they're awesome and weird, i hope to strengthen our bond in da future hehe. Ooohhh and i sure hope that you guys are losers is my friend cus she's been rlly great :')

16. fallen out of love: i guess the closest i've come to falling out of love in a romantic way is moving on from da heavy crushin on meh crush. But i dunno, i still think he's a unicorn n pretty special to me so i dunno hahaha.

But bro, i do think i have fallen out of love. With tv shows, with characters. Like i used to be so passionate about a few shows and characters but now all i have towards them is regret heck i cant even remember wat dey are but i know dat der was love lost. I know it.

17. laughed until you cried: hahaha yaasss i think so. It's either when i was with my best dearest friends or during the class of dis really cool and funny as heck joker teacher who makes us laugh in EVERY SINGLE CLASS hahaha ahhh das guy's so cool

Da best friend ones was about something in my past/history (g7) and the classmates one i think was just dem talking about me and they told me about it ooohhh i think it was my crush hahahaha. They told me dat my crush actually admired me a lot hehe. There was one time my friend (the one who told me about dis) was putting make up on me for a school film, and my crush was da cam guy and he told my friend i looked pretty. Sooo im pretty lucky dat- oh sht w8 i dunno if it's dis year but oh w8 no, it was on my bday last year (dec 20) and da same friend said she was sorry cus apparently da bois make fun of me or something and she was sorry cus she laughed along too hahaha but i didnt mind cus i know im weird and i dont even know what dey say about me in da first place hahahaha. Ok das it im done, i think ive overshared now hahaha 😆😂😆😂

19. met someone who changed you: my best friends. Ive thought about it based on wat sup losers said about change for da better and i dont rlly think of change as something dat happens quick, i think it happens over time and u dont even notice it. So ok oh sht i think im wrong cus i met my best friends 4/6 years ago hahaha but for reals tho, i was in a dark place and if it werent for dem i think id still be lost lonely and sad. Uuhhmmm in regards to answering the question correctly, i guess my blockmates count since they inspire/challenge me to be better. OH SHT W8 i def think you guys are losers and dead end street and tomdaya receipts and tout de suite have changed me hehehe. Da first 2 in dat dey inspired me to write more hehe. Da 1st one inspired me to do this so i think this counts as change hehe. And da last 2 changed me in dat bcus i met dem, i became OBSESSED w/ tomdaya hahaha.

20. found out who your friends are: yes, i have actually. And it's all because i am now currently a college freshman as well as my friends.

23. do you have any pets: yaaaassss 3 doggos: albie, juju, and biggie girl. Juju has a pupper named tchalla called dat cus he black hehehe and biggie has 2 biglets named mermer (meredith) and crissy (cristina) cus they're sisters 😍😊😊

My fam have also had a buncha dogs n puppers before but they were either given away or passed away. My bro also has dis cat named bob and i think he counts as a semi pet since my bro's home is a fam home.

24. do you want to change your name: uuhhh i wish i had an alliterative name like superheroes. Buutt im pretty happy w/ my name :')

25. what did you do for your last birthday: oohhhh i think i was at my section's christmas party it was pretty nice n emotional and i spent da rest of da day w/ 2 of meh best friends who bought me cake n food when my own fam didn't 😆😂😆😂

26. what time did you wake up: 4 am to shit cus im sick, but fell asleep again and officially got up around 730 or 8ish

I GOT FUCKING CAUGHT AT ULTA AND NOW HAVE PENDING ASSAULT AND FELONY CHARGES story timeeeeee Im so fucking shook you guys god damn Okay so i was going christmas lifting and brought my brother with me and he doesnt lift but knew i was going to. So we made a few stops successfully. All christmas gifts for the fam too 💟 Any way then we get to ulta and i was going to walk out with the bag. My brother felt sketch so he wanted to walk out separately- i should've trusted his intuition. I dont see him so i proceed to walk out alone like i have before, a little ways out the door i hear "shes got a bag!" Im like shit keep walking then theyre still yelling so i started running, digging for my keys and i cant feel them in my coat pocket and was fumbling out of fear. I ran past my car so they wouldnt know which one was mine then stopped to search for my keys. I thought i left them in the fkn store!!! Finally i found them deep in my pocket. Then they come running. Two women catch up to me and GRAB me and an altercation began. I tried to say "im sorry take the stuff and ill go" they said no and continued to try and take my purse amd the ulta bag back. Then this bitch POURED HER COFFEE ALL OVER ME!!! It got on her too but still. The woman behind me fell down after trying to tug on the bags. I SWEAR one of them hit me first so i straight up started fighting her. Got 3 good hits to her face then kicked her fat stomache to get her off me. I feel the woman on the ground behind me grab my phone from my pocket and i turned around and kicked her in the face pretty hard. They got my purse and phone so i had no choice but to walk back into the store w them. My poor brother saw everything but strayed away. It was crazy. They called the cops and were around me like an angry mob. Refused let me use my phone to call my mom so he had a ride home (hes a minor im not). After 45 min of waiting the cops havent showed up, an employee finally lets my bro use her phone. Of course not without adding "dont let her get near it" and glared at me lol. My mom got there before the cops and asked for the manager and she came out being overly nice saying i wasnt being detained and got my name amd address. Then we left!!!! I thought i was going to fucking jail. Itll probably catch up to me later but i will handle it then. Ulta employees aren't allowed to chase out of the store therefore the assault charges should be dropped (with a good lawyer at least) and the shop lifting om not sure about because they never gave me a total but i am sure it was over 500 which is a felony level. I am BLESSED to not be in jail rn...... I prob wont be stealing for a good while. But here is what i got before i was caught... Panini press for my cousin $20 Slippers for my aunt $25 Reusable bag, idk $1? Christmas boxers $$10 $56 sad dollars

Me: having a fucking break down.

Ranting about issues that matter to me. Making mopey fucking comments.

I realize it happens frequently. I realize there's no help to be had. I realize i just have to muster up and do it... Or find an alternative solution.

But it makes it all the more noticable when she doesn't... Seem to notice. Or say anything. Or focuses on the wrong thing. Or how can you like every fucking post but miss the important ones. Or not worry on the times I'm radio silent.

Maybe raido silence from me is the expectation anymore. I dont know.

I dont think I've really paid attention the last several phone conversations we've managed just because I'm getting to the point I only have enough spoons to deal with so much emotional bag and I realize Ive already checked more than my fair amount but Im also dealing with my mom and my dad and work and having to fight off anxiety attacks before after and INSTEAD of social activities.

And i have other people who are going through a rough patch. And the shit with the car. Hell 99% of my recharge/ coping is just staring at Tumblr mindlessly. Cant even read or play video games without guilt or I just end up staring aimlessly at tumblr because tumblr wont make me feel things Im trying to not feel.

But... Nada you know?

No worried messages. Maybe an I love you but its more of "im lonely and i miss you pay attention to me" than "im worried about you"

I dont... Talk really. Or rant or vent or... Share. I'll make a couple of comments but really its just. Listening. Trying to maybe comment and being happy at least shes rambling about things shes enjoying and that things are going well.

And when there is a problem... I try to refocus. Dont panic, worry about what you can do. Youll get through this you have options and viable plans if you follow through. Distract until youve processed and calm - watch a funny thing. Or watch a sad thing so youll feel better after crying cause happy ending. Eat. Drink. Fluids. Rest. Itll turn out okay one way or another.

Then redirect convo to happier topics until she sounds a bit happier.

Her: sometimes i dont want solutions i just want to cry and have you tell me everythings going to be okay.

I just. I cant do that. What lie to you? What allow you to sit there and break down and do NOTHING to attempt to help? I cant even let people bitch without trying to "help" or "fix" things or at least explain something. And most of the time I'm barely okay emotionally I CANT handle other people breaking down and HELPLESS because EVERYTHING is terrible and there is no way out. I HAVE to try and find a way out. Usually with far too many words.

More to the point... Dating me has always been this huge thing. Like it matters to her. Because "I'm all she wants" ? But. I'm really not and I could list all sorts of things she wants and needs that I just. Dont. Do. Wont do.

It matters to her and it doesnt to me and we are best friends so what does it matter?

Only while it has fixed some problems because she's happy with that... I swear its just an idea, a possession of having me forever maybe? Idk. And of being in a relationship...

Long term it just isnt sustainable because of things like this.

She wants me to be jelly but she could date like a hundred people or sleep with them rn and I wouldnt care if she was happy healthy and they treated her right.

But... I feel like... I'm alway breaking down or having shit go wrong and she's never there, never notices, never says anything aside from... Irrelevant comments and I notice and feel that and try to give the benifit of the doubt because hell its not like we get a chance to bs very often and that is mostly my fault.

But she calls and I just. Cant. Sometimes. Or its all surface bs. Or it is cool stuff but I just... I'm glad shes happy.

Or she calls and I just cant but she sounds upset so i swallow it and try and then I get this bs.

But she cant unfriend my fam cause that's "weird" even though it'd STOP shit like this from happening but yeah not apologizing to my aunt for some series fuck up on her part is okay.

I just. For the longest time I hated the idea of dating. Hated relationships because of all the bullshit and honestly I was never going to let anyone treat me the way dad and mom treat each other.

Then... I tried it. And it was terrifying amd fun but in retrospect I just like having friends. And dating amd friend stuff for me just. I do the same things. And sex I just dont want to have anything to do with me personally but Ive tried dating and sex and I'm back to the high school me standard of why bother?

And its honestly such a farce. I want my best friend happy. I am a people pleaser. I say nice things and mean them but... I say things and they make her sad whenever I bring them up like how I'm prob deff aro ace...

She wants to be special to me. An exception. Shes my best friend but ive told her so many times I dont love her the way she loves me, and that its not ENOUGH and shes just like "no its enough" while asking for more whether she realizes it or not.

I'm bad at relationships in general but Ive always been tired of my friendship not being enough for people. For me wanting to grow that bond is everything but I can't keep friends because I'm me and even my best friend is only my best friend because THIS is what she wanted and I gave it to her and somehow I'm still fucking this up.

IM STUCK IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY FOR A MONTH W/ NOTHING BUT A CHARGER AND FIVE CENTS" and Ethan(maybe the whole team too) overhears and they're like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lets be nice and then something starts to ;) happen between Ethan and Reader. Dragging along the airport was almost a relief. (Y/n) wasn’t one that was afraid of flights, not at all. She actually quite enjoyed them. But, this flight in particular seemed so shitty, that even she despised it.

Children screeching, people snoring.

Lucky it was illegal, because (Y/n) would have locked several children in with the cargo.

Having forgotten her headphones meant that she was able to listen to her luggage wheels charm the airports heavy air. It was late- or early. Three in the morning early, yet the girl was energized. Ready.

Queer, though, how this airport did run her memory.

Just before they had left, her parents took time to explain what the airport layout looked like and what exit her cab would be at.

Where (Y/n) was at now, looked nothing like what was described to her.

She kept walking, tossing out her phone and trying the home button a couple times.

“Dead...” the girl uttered.

(Y/n) rolled (e/c) eyes, and directed her path instead through groups of sleepy people to a public pay phone.

Standing up her bag, (Y/n) released the handle and grabbed the phone. She offered it several coins, dialed a number and waited.

Peering around, she viewed many different people. Quite lively, she thought, for three in the morning. Decent amount of folk were walking about the airport; grabbing luggage, casing through arrival gates.

“Hello?”

The phone finally picked up.

“Mom?”

“Oh hey, hon. Did you just land?”

“Yeah...”

(Y/n)’s words were almost drawn out and suspicious. She continued to look about as she spoke.

“You’re in L.A, right?”

“Yeah.” she repeated.

“Well, we’re in, uh, London.”

For a couple of moments, the girl stared off at a far wall. Then she said:

“I’m not in London, mom; I’m in L.A.” (Y/n)’s statement was weary “That is where we are vacationing, right? Los Angeles?”

“Ah, no. We found out just before you had landed that you’re dad misclicked on the booking website... but your phone was dead, so I didn’t have anyway of telling you...”

“He.. misclicked...” (Y/n) said slowly.

“Well yeah.”

“Mom-”

Quickly, the heat rose to (Y/n)’s head. She did not, by any means, want to be told at three in the morning that she was in an entirely different country than planned.

Alright, this night got even worse.

“MOm, you mean I’m in bloody L.A for no reason?”

Her mom coughed awkwardly on the line “It gets better-”

“Oh, joy.”

“See, we won’t be able to get you out here until that bonus check comes in at the end of the month.”

“You mean I’m here for a fucking month?”

“Well dear, he misclicked the loca--”

“WHAT dO YOU MEAN HE MISCLICKED? YOU left mE IN AMERICa WITH NOTHING bUT A CHARgER AND A COUPLE BUcKS!”

The confrontation went on. (Y/n)’s voice kept wavering volume, and she became blind to those around her. Eventually, a small pool of people gather around her, listening idly.

Among those several, stood out a group of four. A tall brunette, a shorter looking brunette, a slim boy with blue hair, and a nice looking girl with yellow hair.

“Mom, you do realise I have no where to fucking go right? I’m not supposed to be in L.A...”

(Y/n)’s words became all but futile when her mom eventually hurried herself off the line, and hung up.

“Guys, she’s stuck here...” mumbled the short brunette, turning to look at the taller man.

“Mark, don’t even--”

“We could house her for like, a couple weeks, and then see if we can maybe fix her problem?” the blue boy then pushed.

The tall male sighed heavily, dropping his head so his eyes could pierce the tiled floor.

“Well,” he inquired.

“I really don’t care. I’m jet lagged to shit, we just got back from PAX, I’m still in the generous mood; just get her and let's go.”

Mark began to smile gaily, spinning back around to see (Y/n) place down the phone and sigh irritably. The rest of the grouped travelers began to taper off.

“Here, uh, Mark and Ethan will, uh, stay here? And Tyler and I will go get, a cab...” said the yellow haired girl, facing the tall male for confirmation. He nodded to her, and they directed themselves on their way.

“Fucking, fuck, fuck sake...” (Y/n) breathed, coursing a hand through her hair before turning right. There, she ran into Mark.

“Oh, sorry!” said Mark, looking almost frantic.

“No, no I’m sorry. Wasn’t paying attention.” the girl said quickly, stepping aside to walk away from him.

“Wait-!” called the youtuber.

(Y/n) didn’t want to have to deal with this, no, not at all. She turned back around, and taped on her best grin.

“I just overheard what you were saying...” Mark begun to explain. (Y/n)’s facial expression took on a look of exasperated shock “and you know, I came to offer a place to stay? Not just alone with me-! With myself, Ethan, Tyler, Kathryn, and Amy. My house mates, kinda...”

She didn’t say anything. Peering down, she looked at the plane ticket she held within her hand. L.A, huh?

“I mean...” then (Y/n) began to mumble “I don’t want to impose...”

“Not at all!” Ethan smiled when he appeared at Mark’s side “We’re offering.”

(Y/n) charmed them with a thankful look. Ethan was able to see her face fully now. He was roped in by her eyes, and couldn’t seem to bring himself to a focus.

“Alright, well...” the girl sighed and gave the two boys a real smile “I have nothing much to lose.”

Mark beamed back to her, gesturing for her to follow them. He led the way, allowing Ethan and (Y/n) to talk behind him.

“My name is Ethan.” he said cheerfully, looking down as they walked. The girl beside him smiled a thoughtful grin at Mark’s back.

“I thought as much. I’m (Y/n).”

The male took a moment to hear she had said before he replied with a heart in his mouth.

“You know who I am?”

“No.” replied (Y/n) “You just don’t look like much of a Kathryn.”

“Oh, right...”

The girl chuckled at his reaction, glancing at him curiously as the three of them walked. He seemed very genuine for someone she had just met. Offering her a house and kindness at three in the morning might not have been an easy feat for everyone. Ethan surely peaked (Y/n)’s interest; just a certain charm about him.

“Soo, airport girl, what’s up?” Mark asked, grinning back at her over his shoulder.

“Well, my parents and I were supposed to be going on a holiday in London. But I had to stay back for school stuff, so they flew me out later in the week.” the (size) girl began to explain, cutting through her words once with a resentful exhale “Turns out they suck at computers and clicked ‘L.A’ instead of ‘London’ for my flight location...”

“Yikes-” said Mark, sparing her a thoughtful glance. She gave him back an apologetic smile.

The group turned up at a far exit, where outside the door waited a cab containing Tyler and Amy.

Mark kindly swooped in beside (Y/n) and stole her luggage, hiding it away in the trunk for her. She thanked him.

“Alright, she can either sit beside Mark or Ethan.” offered Tyler. The mentioned brunette hoped in the very back beside Tyler and one empty seat. In front of him sat Amy, Ethan and the other empty seat.

(Y/n)’s answer came quickly, and kindly; very sure.

“I’ll sit next to Ethan.”
