Dinner was a favorite time amongst the ninja. It was time to unwind, to have fun, and enjoy each other's company. You had been chatting idly to Lloyd, who sat to your right, for a majority of the time. He was a bit quieter compared to some of the others (full shade to Jay, Kai, Cole, and Nya) and it seemed as if the mundane practice of just a normal conversation was a great relaxer for the green ninja, so he was definitely one of your preferred dinner companions. That didn’t mean there wasn’t chaos going on around you guys. Jay, who was to your left, seemed to be in a full shouting argument with Kai who sat directly across from the blue ninja. The topic of their angry musings was unknown to you, but Lloyd kept making commentary on it every now and again which you would happily add onto.
Across from you sat Cole, then to his left was Nya, and the head of the table was occupied by Zane while opposite him on the other end sat Pixal. Zane seemed content to exist in the company of all of you, only chiming in when he felt like it was needed, but he and Nya were definitely whispering jokes to each other every now again between bites of their food. Pixal, you noticed, was actually jokingly joining in on Kai and Jay’s argument. She would add in one point that was completely absurd and it would cause the other two to blow up again. That robot could be devious when she really wanted to be.
Then there was Cole. You were surprised that he wasn’t also a part of the argument, but you suppose the topic of…maybe devil worship? You weren’t sure, but still, whatever it was didn’t seem to interest the earth ninja. To be fair, you knew the other was prone to getting entranced into whatever he was eating at the moment and Zane had done wonderfully with tonight’s dinner (as he always did) so it was understandable really.
“And, yeah, I don’t know. I just don’t really understand why I’ve always got to be doing something.” Lloyd finished his story up and you nodded along, having listened intently the entire time.
“I don’t know either man,” you shrugged as you took a sip of your water, “your shit is always getting rocked one way or another.” That caused a slight snort of amusement to exit the green ninja. “I mean, I would’ve already changed my government name and gone into hiding if I were in your shoes.”
Lloyd let out a sigh. “That’s the dream. I don’t know if I could do all of that. Couldn’t leave you guys behind at all. That’d suck big time. Ninjago should just get its shit together so we can have some slice of life anime lives.” You nodded enthusiastically at that idea.
“Ooo yeah. And then we could have like fun drama like…what outfit am I going to wear tomorrow or oh no my hair is so bad!”
“Yes! You’re getting it.” Lloyd grinned. “I think I should get a cat.” His mind wandered constantly, so you were only slightly jarred by the sudden conversation change. “I’ve heard that their purrs do some sort of healing and I could for sure use some of that.”
“I think we’d all like having a cat around.” You added on. “They’re sort of independent, so it would be a good pet for our lifestyle.”
Lloyd was about to respond to you, y’know how conversations work, when all of a sudden Jay slammed his palms onto the table as the “argument” had escalated. It caused the table to shake and before you could stop it your water glass had fallen down and drenched your shirt. You let out a loud gasp which quickly caught the attention of everyone.
“Oh my God, [name], I’m so sorry!” Jay began profusely apologizing, scrambling about the table to find some napkins. Kai was howling with laughter just happy to not be the one who fucked something up. Lloyd was a bit in shock, Zane and Nya had both gotten up to grab some towels from the kitchen with Pixal not far behind, and Cole seemed to be frozen. You were too caught up in the water seeping through your clothes to notice, but the ninja sat opposite you seemed to have his eyes locked onto you, his body tense.
“Jay, it’s fine.” You quickly reassured as you stood up, Cole’s eyes following the movement carefully, “I’ll just go get changed. It’s no big deal.” You tried giving the blue ninja a comforting smile, but you could tell the guilt was already eating him alive and it’d be hard to get him out of that state for a while. You’d try again later, you decided.
Letting those who had left to the kitchen know where you were going, you made your way to your room with your arms held awkwardly in the air so that the weird feeling of the wet fabric wouldn’t be sticking to your skin too bad. Before you could forget, you made a quick stop by the bathroom in order to grab a towel from the cabinet.
Finally having made it to your room, you were quick to tug your shirt off and throw it somewhere on the floor. A sigh of relief left your lips as you began to dry off your top half with the previously acquired towel. With a frown, you removed your bra as well since the water had made it to that garment too and once you were sure your skin felt dry you dropped the towel onto your bed and you made your way to your closet.
You were bent over getting into your dresser looking for a new bra when you heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” You called over your shoulder, still digging around in the dresser.
“Uhhh Cole! Is it okay if I come in?”
“I’m sort of changing right now!”
“I won’t look!”
You huffed out a laugh at that. It was sort of indecent to let him in when you were like that, but he did promise not to look. But what if he did? That thought caused your cheeks to heat up a bit. To be completely honest, you were almost entirely head over heels for the earth ninja. The only reason you didn’t choose to spend every dinner chatting to him is because you knew part of you would slip up and embarrass yourself in one way or another. Not to say he didn’t do his fair share of embarrassing himself, but you found that endearing. He’d probably think you were weird and off putting if you were to just slip up randomly.
“Fiiinneeee!” You agreed against your better judgment. “No peeking!”
You could hear a chuckle rumble from the man as the faint sound of the door clicking open hit your ears. Chancing a glance behind you, you smiled fondly at the sight of Cole with his hands over his eyes as he shut the door behind him. He stood completely still after that too scared to make his way to a place to sit with him completely blind like that.
“Soooo, what’s up?” You finally asked, trying to not get irritated at the fact that you couldn’t seem to find another bra in your dresser.
“I just wanted to check in on you.” Cole answered, his voice strained. “I’ll gladly beat Jay up for you. Swear.” That had you giggling.
“You’d beat Jay up over anything.” You rolled your eyes. “You’re just looking for an excuse to.”
“Nuh uh.”
“You can take a seat, y’know.” You changed the topic, about damn near close to giving up and just going braless (you wouldn’t actually. It sounded comfortable, but you didn’t want to expose yourself like that.)
Cole cleared his throat slightly. “No way! I’d totally bump into like a shelf or something!! All of your shit would be broken and then I’d have to beat myself up after beating up Jay!”
Another laugh escaped you at that. Was all of it made funnier by the fact that it was Cole? Maybe. Afterwards, you went silent as your mind began racing. This could be your chance? Would he think it’s weird?
“Hey, I,” you bit your lip in a pause, “I don’t mind if you open your eyes…” You finally spoke, getting ready to just laugh it off like it was just a joke. What a prankster you are!
Cole seemed to go oddly silent after you said that and you were sweating bullets. The tension that filled the room was suffocating. Quickly, you snapped up with your back still to Cole. That action was followed by the sound of footsteps almost as if the other ninja had begun walking closer.
You were about ready to apologize profusely when Cole’s low voice broke the silence, “can I ask you something, [name]?”
“Anything…” You murmured, still facing the other way.
“Can I…” There was a pause, an eerily similar pause to the one you had earlier. He was hesitant as he seemed to be fighting some inner battle.
Without thinking, you quickly turned around not caring about your current topless situation and you pulled Cole down in order to plant a fierce kiss to his lips. You were about to apologize for your impulsivity and how you should’ve asked first and not assumed, but Cole’s hands came to rest on your waist and he let out a low groan as he melted into the kiss.
You weren’t small by any means, but it was making your knees weak at the feeling of his hands just absolutely dwarfing your waist. Those hands pulled you closer to where your chest was pressed against him and the feeling of the bulge in his pants against your hips caused you to gasp which he took advantage of and slipped his tongue into your mouth. You let out a small whine at the action, but quickly reciprocated even if you let him have control of the kiss.
Eventually, the need for air arose and you reluctantly parted with him, a string of saliva connecting the two of you. His eyes searched yours, as if something in your gaze held the answer to every question he had ever asked, as his hands slowly wandered to the area beneath your ass. After a bit of panting between the two of you, the kiss quickly resumed and he lifted you up easily causing your stomach to do flips. You wrapped both of your legs around his back and took appreciation in the new angle as it was much easier than having him lean down as much as he was.
The kiss broke as his lips began trailing downward. A shiver ran down your spine at the sensation of his lips on your neck and your breath hitched as he lightly nipped and sucked at the skin there.
“You’re gorgeous…” He breathed against your neck.
Between your harsh intakes of breath, you eventually got out, “Cole, I need you.” Which caused another low groan to escape him.
“You don’t know how many times I’ve thought about hearing that come from your lips.” Cole had begun walking over to your bed and gently sat you down atop it as he crawled on top of you. He had barely even done anything, but you already felt like your brain was turning into mush. The sight of his body hovering over yours is something you’ve only ever dreamed about and you subconsciously rubbed your thighs together. That movement caught his attention, but he had to pace himself. Make sure everything was alright with you. You were operating at hyperspeed, however, and began reaching to the hem of his shirt. That didn’t go unnoticed by him either and he was quick to yank the material up and over his head. He flung the shirt onto the floor of your room as you laid there, stunned, at the sight of his body.
Cole was, well you knew he was big, but he was beefy. Clearly, he was muscular, but he had some chubbiness going for him as well and, God, you don’t know if you’ve ever needed anyone more. He was perfect. You started to sit up so that you could absolutely just feel him up, but he didn’t let you get up. Instead, he ran his hands down your stomach towards your shorts. You looked at him confused and he just leaned in close, his breath fanning across your ear.
“I want to make this about you.” His hands had successfully unbuttoned and zipped down your shorts. “Call me selfish, but I need to make you feel good. What kind of man would I be if I didn’t treat you like the finest piece of cake in the damn bakery?” To many, that’d be a cause for laughter, but knowing Cole, that meant everything. He slowly pulled away from your ear and you couldn’t help but look at him with the purest look of adoration after that. Even in a situation as intimate as this, he still managed to get the butterflies in your stomach to go haywire.
Cole slowly slid your shorts down your legs and off of your body. They probably ended up somewhere near where his shirt did. His eyes were transfixed at the wet spot that had formed on your underwear and he found himself subconsciously licking his lips. You, on the other hand, were staring at him with anticipation wondering what his next move would be. Gingerly, his hands came to rest on your waist and you shivered. His thumbs hooked into the last garment you had on, but he paused to look up at you. His eyes were searching yours once more.
“Is this okay?” He finally asked, his voice soft. Your enthusiastic nod put him into action and he quickly slid your panties off of your legs.
Cole could’ve sworn he was fucking salivating at the sight of your core fully exposed to him. He placed his hands underneath your knees and used that position to spread your legs open for ease of access. Knowing he still had his pants on, you were curious to what his current plan was until your eyes widened as you watched his head lower to rest between your thighs. Your face was flushed red and you could feel yourself trembling slightly. What he was about to do was just so…intimate? It felt more like a once the relationship has officially started activity, but it seems he wasn’t even kidding when he said he’d treat you like cake. Was he trying to ruin you for anyone else? (As if you’d want anyone else.)
The breath was knocked out of you as he took one small lick of you. You could’ve sworn you heard a noise escape him as well, but you weren’t given time to even think as he instantly dove back in. He had started eating you out like a man starved. His tongue moved along your pussy masterfully, making careful movements along your clit which caused punctuated whines to escape your mouth. You couldn’t help but reach a hand down to rest on the back of his head which he seemed to enjoy. Cole then made his tongue flatten out in order to lap up as much of your juices as possible. As if this wasn’t enough to get his fill, his tongue finally plunged into your hole and a gasp left your lips that slowly morphed into a low moan. This man was eating you up and you’re pretty sure your mind was completely gone by this point. What was your name? Who cares? Cole was giving you pleasure you had never experienced before and that’s literally all that mattered at this point. If your head wasn’t so far up in the clouds, you probably would’ve noticed that Cole was grinding up against the bed as he ate you out.
Your grip tightened in Cole’s hair and a moan left his lips which seemed to vibrate along your cunt.
“C-Cole–” His name was but a mere whimper along your lips and it only encouraged him to move his mouth against you faster. You felt the knot in your stomach twist up as your peak approached. You were practically grinding up against his tongue which Cole enjoyed immensely. He could not get enough and it rewarded him as you practically exploded all over his tongue. He was licking up as much of your climax as he could as you were still shaking in post-orgasmic bliss. Your vision felt blurry at the continued stimulation that carried you down from your high and you were faintly aware of the moans and whimpers making their way out of your throat.
Honestly, you had expected him to stop, but even one orgasm wasn’t enough to satisfy him. Cole was still lost in the taste of your pussy. You felt a bit of pain flare up at the overstimulation and you were trying to gently pull at his hair.
“Cole,” you whimpered, “h…hurts.” That fell on deaf ears as he just continued on. You thought he hadn’t heard you, but a shit eating look was sent your way and you knew he was trying to work you up.
“Just one more.” He growled along your folds as he moved up to suck on your clit which caused a jolt to travel through your body. It seems as if he had enough of your trembles as his arms came up to rest on your thighs. The position still keeping your legs spread, but his strength kept your lower half still as he continued his ‘feast’. Your moans and whines had definitely picked up in pace at this moment as the pain began to border on pleasure.
Your second orgasm came much faster.
He licked it up just as enthusiastically as he did the first time. You think he probably would’ve tried to keep going for a third time if you didn’t forcefully pull him up this time. There was a sheen of your slick that shined around Cole’s mouth and you looked away slightly in embarrassment. Cole, meanwhile, was licking around his mouth trying to get whatever he had missed.
Your chest rose and fell rapidly as you attempted to catch your breath after all of that. The shifting of Cole’s body was what finally caught your attention. The ninja was moving himself from above your body to your side and it looked as if he was moving to lay down next to you. All signs of lethargy left your body as you quickly sat up and rested a hand on his chest. Cole stared at you with a tilt of his head, the confusion bubbling within him evident.
“What about you?” You asked, still breathing a bit heavy.
“What about me?” Cole replied a bit dumbly.
“You know…” You muttered, a tad bit embarrassed, but you rested a hand over his painfully hard bulge in his pants. The feeling caused him to shiver and he looked down, realization dawning on him.
“Oh, it’s okay.” He said, picking your hand up and removing it from his crotch. “I said I just wanted to take care of you, right?”
“Yeah you did,” you started, “but I said I need you, didn’t I?” Cole nodded slowly, but a small frown was still on his face.
“Aren’t you tired?”
A sigh left your mouth. “A little, BUT.” You emphasized, noticing how he had opened his mouth to speak after you said that. “God damnit Cole. No way am I going to finally get you into my bed just to have you not dick me down. I don’t care how sensitive I am, I need you to fuck me.” You could barely believe what you had just said, but it got the job done. Albeit a bit slowly.
“...Are you sure? I don’t wanna hurt you…”
“I have never been more fucking sure in my life.”
Seeing as he wasn’t moving, you lunged over to him to begin slipping his basketball shorts down. Noticing your haste, Cole finally started taking initiative. If it’s what you wanted then he just had to give it. With a better method, Cole slipped off his shorts and boxers off together in one swift motion. And, boy, did he not disappoint. EVERY part of him was big, you had just found out. Saliva pooled up in your mouth at the sight of his cock as you couldn’t take your size off of it. If you weren’t so needy, you probably would’ve taken him into your mouth right then and there, but Cole already had a hand on your shoulder forcing you to lay back down as he positioned himself right above you again.
Your pussy was definitely still slick from the mix of your own arousal and Cole’s saliva and he ran a finger between your folds before shoving it into you. His tongue hadn’t been as thick as his finger, but it still wasn’t much to adjust to. The second finger proved to be more filling and your breath was once again escaping in huffs.
It took a bit until Cole had either thought you ready or just gotten impatient, but he pulled his fingers out of you and lined his dick up with your entrance. A pause. You were about ready to complain until the breath was taken swiftly from your lungs as he slowly pushed in. As he slid in further and further, the more your breaths turned into short moans. It felt as if he filled absolutely every part of you and it was addicting. The stretch hurt, but it was so deliciously overpowered by the pleasure of him finally being inside you. Though, Cole still didn’t even attempt to move until you gave him the go ahead.
From there, he started at a slow but deep pace. It was a sensual experience. Above you, Cole was letting out little huffs and groans at the feeling of your walls around his member. He could explode right then and there if he wanted to. But, he continued at this pace of almost completely removing himself from your hole before pushing balls deep back in. It was excruciating.
“F..fa…faster.” You panted at him. And who would he be if he denied you this request?
The sound of skin slapping skin echoed around the room as Cole slowly began picking up the pace. His hips were pistoning in and out of you at a rapid pace, and you think you finally understood the phrasing of “being fucked stupid.”
Every push in had you moaning loudly. It was either moans or a broken moan of Cole’s name which made him go in a bit harder every time you did that. His head hung low until it was resting in the crook of your neck. The groans and low moans that were leaving the man only turned you on more and you about screamed his name when he bit into your neck. There were no thoughts of anyone here at the monastery hearing you two, as far as you cared, you and Cole were the only people in Ninjago at this point. All of your senses seemed to be completely filled by the man anyways.
The feeling of his licking, sucking, and biting along your neck combined with his rough abuse of your pussy brought you close to your third climax of the night which might be a record for you.
“C-Cole, I’m-I’m close.” You whined, your voice barely audible over the sound of him fucking you.
“God, me too.” He moaned against your neck. Cole was determined to not let go until you had, so he reached a hand down to start playing with your clit as he continued fucking into you. That absolutely sent you over the edge and you screamed as you came all over Cole’s cock. He continued thrusting into you throughout your orgasm which only made it feel that much better. His hips began stuttering in their movements and he was quick to pull himself out of the vice grip your pussy had on him. Cole wrapped a hand around his cock and jerked himself off the rest of the way until his cum started landing on your stomach. He let out tiny grunts as he fucked into his hand a bit before letting go.
You made sure he was looking at you when you scooped up some of his release and licked it off your fingers. He really had to save that image for the next time he masterbated.
Before he even allowed himself to lay down next to you, Cole carefully got up and reached for the towel you had used earlier to dry yourself off and used it to wipe his release off of your stomach, a small ‘sorry’ leaving his mouth as he did so. He was cute.
Finally, his body dropped harshly at your side and you giggled tiredly at him. Cole rolled over to look at you and you held your arms open, a silent question for him to come cuddle you.
His strong arms wrapped around your body and you rested your head on his chest, listening to his calming heartbeat. Cole found where your covers started and threw them over the both of you which only made you snuggle in even closer to him.
You two sat there in silence for so long, just catching your breaths, that you nearly fell asleep.
“Hey, [name].” You startled at the sound of his voice. A non-committal ‘hm?’ is what you hummed in response and he just rested his nose on the top of your head in your hair. “Do you want to go on a date with me?”
A content sigh left your lips and you sleepily looked up, causing him to remove his head from its place. “Of course, Cole.” One of your hands slipped out from under the covers and cradled one of his cheeks. You leaned up and placed a gentle kiss on the other cheek.
“Now, let’s get some sleep. We can talk about the details later.” You said through a yawn and he just smiled at you fondly. You both returned to your previous positions and slowly drifted off, and for once, neither of you felt fear or dread for what was to come in the future.

You look like you've just seen a ghost
It was a boring day and the ninja were having a break, so Kai was watching TV. He didn't really focus on the words coming from the old box in front of him, just recalling them being about the latest scores for each sport, something the red-clad teenager didn't have much interest in. It was only when the yellow text reading 'BREAKING NEWS' came on screen did he finally break out of his trance and start paying attention. He knew what this was about.
"The ninja claim victory once again after the defeat of Morro and The Preeminent, the former who had Lloyd Garmadon under his possession for two weeks. Additionally, Nya, Fire Ninja Kai's sister, has joined the ninja team. None of the six teenagers accepted our request for an interview at the moment..."
Kai looked around the room. Cole was on his phone, and Nya and Jay had decided to go out somewhere to forget the events of the last few weeks. He decided to look for Zane and Lloyd. He was almost certain they were together.
Ever since Lloyd was free of Morro's possession, he had obvious trauma. He woke up screaming every night, having another panic attack due to a nightmare. The blond found it mortifying, so he often locked himself in whichever room was currently empty, despite the others' insistence that he should talk to them about his feelings. Knowing Zane, however, he was probably trying to get Lloyd to talk to him.
But Kai had another idea on helping Lloyd forget about Morro and the ghost's actions. He faintly heard Zane and Lloyd's voices, which led him to their room.
"I'm fine, Zane! Really! Morro is gone, and I know that!"
"Lloyd, you do not need to--"
"Hey guys!" Kai's voice was very loud and cheerful as if nothing significantly bad had happened recently. Zane side-eyed him while Lloyd tried to fake a smile.
"Hey, Kai! How's it going?" Kai pretended not to notice that the Green Ninja's voice was trembling as he spoke.
"I feel amazing! You know why? I booked us tickets to the amusement park in the city! Do you guys wanna go?"
"I'll come!" Lloyd looked genuinely happy. Zane, on the other hand, understood that this was just to cheer up the blond so he opted out.
"I'll be busy, so no thank you. Have fun!"
...
Kai didn't even ask his remaining teammates if they wanted to come or not. It was certainly only to cheer Lloyd; the master of fire wanted some alone time with him.
They went on a couple of roller coasters which they decided were too tame so they hunted the park for the scariest ride. Eventually they found it. It had a black railing which ascended about a hundred metres then dropped underground at a very high speed, before coming out again and reaching the starting point, repeating this five times.
As they waited in line, Kai looked at his brother and froze for a moment. What if the ride was a bit too scary? What if Lloyd got a panic attack while they were a hundred metres high?
"Lloyd, are you sure you're up for this?" The blond frowned at the question.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be?"
"I thought maybe after Morro..."
"Geez, Kai, I'm not afraid of Morro! He's gone! Forever! Why is everyone worrying about me?"
The brunette thought of responding to that with ‘I don't know, maybe because you've already had twenty panic attacks since your possession’, but decided not to. He didn't want to ruin the fun. "Okay. I'm sorry." His heart became heavy when Lloyd simply kept silent and looked away in response.
Neither of them spoke to each other until they were seated on the ride. Kai wasn't scared. He lived in a flying ship. And while Lloyd did too, he hated the fact that he looked a bit nervous. Even if the height didn't scare them the speed was quite extreme. But it was too late to get off. The ride started moving slowly.
As they got higher and higher, Kai was starting to get scared too. The Destiny's Bounty wasn't like this. It didn't slowly rise and fall at an unbelievable speed. And there were walls on all four sides. On this ride, the only thing that kept everyone from falling off were some bars that hugged their waists. Kai could've sworn his was shaking.
They finally reached the top. Kai knew what was about to happen. He took a deep breath in the split second the ride wasn't moving in, when Lloyd suddenly grabbed his hand.
"I'm scared--"
The ride started falling. Kai realised something a bit too late. Due to the speed of the ride, there was a lot of air hitting him and Lloyd. Like wind. Lloyd didn't release his grip on Kai's hand even when the ride went underground. In fact, it got tighter.
"Kai, I'm so sorry, I need to get off, I can't do this four more times..." The brunette, though, was trying to look at their surroundings but it was too dark. A voice boomed on the speakers around the ride.
"Welcome to the haunted house! Nobody who enters here leaves alive!" The other riders were cheering for what was about to come. Kai would've been too, if it wasn't for the boy sitting next to him who just had a terrible experience with a ghost.
Speaking of ghosts, the ride continued moving in darkness until their only source of illumination was a very realistic hologram in front of the ride. A hologram of a ghost.
Lloyd couldn't take it anymore. "KAI!" he screeched. Kai didn't know what to do. He felt so sick. To make things even worse, the ride started its second round. Which involved going a hundred metres high again and going down at a high speed. Kai squeezed his brother's hand.
"Lloyd, I'm here. Nothing will happen to you, I promise. If someone tries to attack you, they have to get through me first." He shut his eyes, wanting to see no more of this horrific ride.
The ride reached its peak before descending once more. This time, for some weird reason, the ride seemed to be moving even faster than in the last round. They were almost at the bottom, just about fifteen metres high, when Kai felt something around his waist loosening. He opened his eyes to see the bar was starting to move a little bit. He immediately grabbed his bar with one hand and grabbed Lloyd's with the other. He didn't even have time to warn the blond on what was happening.
Suddenly, there was a crash. And then it all went black.
...
The next thing Kai knew was that he was still on the ride. He turned to his right to see that Lloyd wasn't there.
"Lloyd!" Kai scrambled out of his seat, when a man in a uniform stopped him.
"Hey, hey, calm down, we need to check you for injuries to make sure you don't have any fatal--"
"I don't care about my health," Kai grit his teeth. "My brother was on this ride and I can't find him. And why weren't we warned about this whole 'haunted house' crap? We plummeted into the darkness to see a ghost pop up in front of us."
"Whoa, what haunted house are you talking about? The ride always manages to get out of the darkness within five seconds. Did you hit your head?"
Kai quickly grabbed the nearest rider by the shoulder. "Hey, you! W as there a hologram of a ghost when we went underground?"
"Yeah!" He replied. "It was funny." The former passenger began to laugh. He must've hit his head pretty hard.
"Alright," said the worker. "The ride must have been tampered with. The police will look into this and look for your missing friend. You will be refunded and all hospital bills will be paid by us."
"I just told you, I don't care about my health! I. Want. My. Brother." Kai didn't even wait for a response. He just ran off to look for Lloyd.
Around the ride, outside the ride; there wasn't even a trace of Lloyd anywhere. It was almost as if he had never came.
Kai was certain that Lloyd had been kidnapped. After searching through the whole park and having no sight of the Green Ninja, he went back to where the ride crashed to see if the workers had better luck.
When he got there, it was empty, and just as dark as it was when the ride was functioning. This time, though, Kai turned on his phone's torch. He walked forward to the exact place where the hologram came from. He noticed that there were no machines, and the only light bulb was turned off and incapable of creating such a sight.
Wait-- was it possible that it was a real ghost?
And what if that ghost caught--
"Hello, fire ninja." Kai heard a voice that sounded somewhat familiar, but couldn't exactly recognise. He turned around and found no source.
"I'm over here!" Kai turned around.
"No, here!" Kai thought the voice was playing tricks on him again but this time he was met with the sight of Lloyd unconscious, hands bound together with vengestone handcuffs and blood coming out from different parts of his body, including a trickle from his mouth. Oddly, he was floating in the air.
Kai ran towards his brother and checked if the source of the voice was still there. "Who are you? And what have you done to Lloyd?"
"What happened? Can't you recognise my voice?" A ghost appeared out of thin air, revealing that he was in fact holding Lloyd this whole time. But Kai was in denial at who it was.
It was Garmadon. Not Sensei Garmadon, Lord Garmadon. The one Lloyd had fought in the final battle.
"Surprised to see me?" Garmadon grinned evilly.
"Garmadon! How'd you--" Kai was lost for words.
"Long story short, Kai. When Lloyd defeated me a few years back, the evil part of me died. Hence, I became a ghost. I didn't engage in Morro's activities. I stayed hidden until he was defeated so no one would suspect I was here. To be honest, you're the first person I've told about my existence."
"You have two choices," he continued. "One: You and the remaining ninja work for me. Two: You don't. And I'll torture Lloyd for days before mercifully killing him."
Kai was lost for words. Lloyd was already suffering from trauma from his possession and his father's death. On the other hand, he couldn't just become Garmadon's slave. He would tell him to do horrible things, leading to him ruling over Ninjago.
"You take too much time. I'll tell you what. I'll take Lloyd for now, and you can decide by next week. I'll come to your flying ship. Just a reminder, Lloyd isn't safe with me."
"Wait!" Kai finally spoke.
"Sorry, but I don't have all day!" With that, Garmadon floated out of the basement, taking Lloyd with him.
Kai had to inform the others. Lloyd would practically be in hell when he woke up.
He just had to hope the Green Ninja would pull through.

Another Crystalized Wasted Potential coming up: I feel that Pythor was pretty underutilized in Crystalized. Dude is such a long-stay with Ninjago, being the villain from its first season (and thus only preceded by Garmadon and Samukai). He's basically an evergreen villain for the ninja at this point, he's been here since the dawn of time, long around to have been at both villain get-togethers. He's got the personal connection to Lloyd as well, and he's a fan-favorite.
He and the Overlord, I argue, are the true arch-nemeses to the ninja, with the Overlord being more of an endgame threat, while Pythor is more recurring, and that makes the team-up between the two feel very natural. Given Crystalized is the finale to mainline Ninjago as we know it, Pythor being the big bad of its first season should've been bookended more.
That's another thing that separates Pythor and Harumi, it's that he's simple and static enough that you can apply him to just about any situation, if you ever want to come up with a scenario where Pythor is the villain; But Harumi is a lot more complicated and dynamic of a character, you really have to justify why she's here, why she's doing this, what's going on in her head. She doesn't have staying power as a villain compared to Pythor, especially since Harumi was originally written as a tragic, short but sweet villain who had her time and it ended. And with Crystalized extending that time, ultimately to redeem Harumi...
I think Pythor should've been emphasized more as the Overlord's second-in-command, his lieutenant, his new chosen champion. Part of the idea behind the Overlord in Crystalized is that he's learned, he's taking no chances. He's already been beaten twice before by the ninja, plus his defeat by the First Spinjitzu Master; He's deeply ancient, he's seen everything, which means he'd reasonably learn from all that. His entire council is comprised of villains who have also been defeated by the ninja, others who also thought they were hot shit, different and unique from other foes, only to get their asses kicked all the same.
Considering how much of a gap there was between Rebooted and Crystalized that the fandom actually had to live through (compared to the gap between FSM vs Overlord and Legacy of the Green Ninja), you really got the sense that the Overlord was painstakingly patient and cautious this time. Biding his time. Making sure every detail was right, sparing no expense by building up an entire army made of the stuff that cancels out the ninjas' powers. He was there in the background since Masters of the Mountain, he always had enough to rush in and be a threat, but he wanted to wait until he had enough to be a decisive threat.
...So why does he stick with Harumi once Pythor and the rest of CoCK are there. Like it makes sense for the Overlord to latch onto Harumi in his vulnerable state, she's all she has and vice-versa. But once he has other villains, he should've gotten rid of Harumi because like. His first introduction in Crystalized is the Overlord acknowledging that Garmadon failed Harumi, as he failed the Overlord; And that's because Garmadon isn't an unrepentant monster. He has a heart. He cares, in his very deeply twisted and misguided way... And so does Harumi. Her gut reaction is to reject the Overlord in horror because he's irrefutably pure evil, and she only goes along because she wants to live, and the Overlord reframes his goals as peace.
So with all that in mind, it's blindingly obvious to the Overlord that Harumi is just another Garmadon, whose defiance could easily spell trouble for him at a crucial juncture. He even calls out to Harumi, to her face, that she cares for Lloyd and is focused more on corrupting than killing him because of it, just like Garmadon. She freaking idolized and emulated the dude, Harumi's forcing you to see the parallels between them!
Now, it's worth noting that for all of Garmadon's hesitation... He never really DID get a chance to disrupt the Overlord's plans during his stint as a chosen champion. Whereas Harumi did, which could be why the Overlord underestimates her, because Garmadon's second thoughts never really amounted to anything in terms of HIS plans. But then Garmadon was also a real pain in his ass during Rebooted.
Again, the idea behind the Overlord is that he's become genre-savvy, he's learned, he's not taking any chances and Harumi is a huge one here. He's taking the ninja truly serious as a threat, in a way he respects them now, and that makes him uniquely dangerous for it. They always find a way, the Overlord should be paranoid because of it, and he should be paranoid over anything that could go wrong.
And that's where Pythor comes into play here; Harumi and Garmadon, they had heart, they cared for Lloyd, they ultimately went to the side of good. But Pythor is straightforward evil at this point. His motives might've been a bit more complex back in S1 and then S4, but ultimately, he strikes me as someone who's stubbornly looking for an excuse to be angry and vengeful and hurt people. He's bitter now, he's cut ties with his own kin that he originally claimed to have done all this for. He cared for the memory of his Anacondrai brethren in S4, but they're all dead and that's been long-resolved with Chen's death anyhow.
The Overlord picked up Garmadon and Harumi at a vulnerable point in their lives, when they had nobody else, and he had to manipulate and convince them throughout. Pythor is the reverse; The two had zero connection to one another prior to Rebooted, and yet Pythor goes out of his way to rescue the Overlord at a vulnerable point in his life, when he otherwise would've been eliminated by the ninja. Rebooted lasts four times as long because of Pythor, Zane dies because of him, which leads to Tournament of Elements, the death of Garmadon, the Preeminent's campaign, Djinjago's destruction, etc.
Pythor's legacy and impact through the Great Devourer, and other actions, is longstanding. Just like the Overlord. They're both responsible for Harumi's trauma, because one created the monster, but the other allowed it to continue wreaking havoc even after its initial defeat. The Overlord, entirely of his own volition, says that he likes Pythor to his face, and despite having power over the Overlord, it's Pythor who agrees to place himself under his power, and then continues to rescue and look after the Overlord, even keeping him in his stomach. They're both purple villains.
Pythor is unconditionally loyal, but unlike Kozu or Cryptor, he's actually competent and menacing and effective. The Overlord should've recognized Pythor's loyalty in Crystalized, and at least promoted him to equal standing alongside Harumi, and when Harumi inevitably brings up how Pythor released the Great Devourer, he just tells her to shut it, and deal with it, and even tries to get rid of Harumi shortly afterwards when he senses her hesitation.
Not only does this make more sense, it also goes nicely with an alternate storyline for Harumi in Crystalized where her redemption arc is more fleshed out and naturally paced, her feelings explored. And again, from a meta standpoint, Pythor’s always been there (maybe at other events we don’t know about because of his invisibility), even longer than the Overlord, as a villain. So to end things with Pythor and the Overlord feels right.
TL;DR Pythor was wasted in Crystalized, both in his relationship with Harumi, and the Overlord. Even though he's been a much more consistent villain to ninja than either of them, moreso than Garmadon, whose iconography the Lego Ninjago Movie revived, which led to the Oni trilogy. The Overlord is a force of nature, but Pythor's less of a fighter, more of a cunning schemer, which makes him fit Harumi's role just nicely. It improves the writing of all three of these characters to address Pythor more.
In particular, I'd have liked Crystalized to delve more into Pythor's motives at this point, and elaborate what he's even running on after all these years and developments. There's just so much history to work with when it comes to Pythor, but in actual canon he's just kinda there, another one of the Crystal King's lieutenants, and played off as comedic relief no less.

New season of Ninjago! I'm currently six episodes in.
(also I'm writing this the morning after I watched these episodes so my thoughts might be out of order)
Awkward teenage Riyu design is cute, but in that awkward, mid-stage pokemon evolution way.
"Intelligent George" is just every adult Ninjago fan on YouTube throwing around theories over the last year.
Sorry Lloyd, prophetic dreams of doom run in the family.
Hey, wait a sec. You know who else has prophetic dreams? Why are you not going to Zane with this?
Please give Arin a "you don't need powers to be powerful" arc.
All this talk of shattering all the good inside someone is reminding me of a certain other spell used to remove all the goodness from Garmadon back in season 8, but I doubt they're actually meant to be connected.
Slightly disappointed that the pink Serpentine isn't Skales' wife.
Euphrasia couldn't take on the master of Smoke, the elemental master she probably has the best type match up against? I don't wanna sound like one of those fans, but jeez, Morro would have destroyed this guy.
The Kai-Nya siblings dynamic continues to be on point.
Wyldfyre continues to be the best character.
I was honestly expecting Sora's fear dream to be more of the same insecurities we saw from her last season, but she actually has moved past that and now she's afraid of having to go back to Imperium. I was pleasantly surprised by that.
Oof, Nya's dream is giving me so many feels. This is foreshadowing, isn't it?
"Jay would never forget me. And even if he somehow did, he'd never be this calm and collected about a stranger coming up and hugging him."
Oh. Oh, we're not seeing Wyldfyre 's fear dream? Oh, she doesn't want to talk about it? *Rubbing hands together* I think we're gonna get some backstory and lore here!
*Bonzle to Cole and Geo* "You are my da-ads. You're my dad's. Boogie Woogie Woogie."
Suddenly Basketball
Ah, the dragon masters. The fact that dragons can learn spinjitzu honestly makes sense to me, all the way back in the pilot, I thought the way the dragons spun around in order to travel to the other realms was obviously related to Spinjitzu.
I like that Rontu is basically just a typical gym coach in dragon form.
Egalt, on the other hand... Well, I do really like his design. But man, he's just every bad "teaching" method from Wu rolled into an even grumpier old man. Talking down to his students, constantly being negative instead of giving positive reinforcement, no clear instructions, giving no answers or even hints to Arin's question, nothing! Maybe I care about this more than other people because I've worked as a teacher on and off for years, but even when I first started watching the show, back when I was still in college, I was already noticing these things about Wu and they already bothered me.
Anyway, calling it now, the students from "last time" Egalt keeps vague-ing were Wu and Garmadon, and Wu learned all his bad "teaching" methods from this guy.
Bonzle being a living spell is weird, but honestly not that out of the question for a crazy fantasy world like Ninjago.
Ok, so I'm going to break the first rule of enjoying Ninjago and think about the timeline. Judging by what Wu said, I'm guessing Bonzle ran into him some time early in season 2? And when did all this with the Forbidden Five happen?
Anyway, very excited to see where this is going, if only I didn't have to work today.

Overwhelmed(Vinny x Garmadon)part24
(I suggest you check out part 1-23 if you haven't already)
(haijhajhjhsjaj HERE'S ANOTHER PART BECAUSE I LOVE YOU GUYS I KNOW I REALLYS SHOULDN'T BE DOING THIS BUT I CAN'T RESIST MYSELF)
Garmadon got up, "Thank you brother" he said as he stretched. "I'm always here to listen to you brother, try not to overthink about Vinny too much" Wu replied as his brother left. The oni walked around wondering what to do mainly due to the fact Vinny wanted some space. "Maybe I can find Lloyd" Garmadon thought as he began looking for his son.
(With Nya and Vinny) "Soooo..?" Nya said, "Sooo....?"a confused Vinny replied. The water ninja let out a sigh, "How was it?" Nya asked hearing this made Vinny blush as he remembered more about the events last night with Garmadon. "Well it was good..." the cameraman said embarrassingly to Nya making her burst out laughing. "Not gonna lie...I can see why he gets along with you though" the water ninja said, "Hmm? You can? And why is that?" Vinny asked as he took a sip of the chamomile tea she made for his lost voice.
"You're a really nice guy and from what I see you get along with everyone...hey I'm wondering how did any of your friends react to finding out Garmadon was your roommate?" Nya asked curiously as she scrolled through her phones texting Jay about their date tomorrow. "Friends? Oh no I honestly don't really hang out with people that I don't have someone I'm connected to" Vinny chuckled out, hearing this the water ninja stared at him, "That...is the most unbelievable thing I've heard how can you not have any friends?" Nya asked dumbfounded, "I-I never said I didn't have friends" the cameraman said trying to make himself not seem like a loner. "Do you have friends?" Nya asked, "Not really" Vinny said as realisation hit him, "Damn! I really am a loner!" the cameraman yelled out, "SHHH not yelling, you're gonna strain your voice more" Nya said "And you just made my point" she added.
Vinny smiled awkwardly, "But when some of the people at my work place found out they were weirded out and said...things..." Vinny said his voice becoming quieter. Hearing this made Nya feel really bad, "Well forget them! They don't know the first thing about you or Garmadon!" Nya said out trying to comfort Vinny. "And honestly when I was a kid me and my brother didn't have much friends most of the kids found it weird we didn't have parents, but...I'm happy now that I know they're safe and they left to protect us" Nya said, Vinny smiled, "Honestly I guess the closest I've had to a friend is Gayle and I barely get along with her" the cameraman said.
"So did they just find you weird when they found out Garmadon was living with you" Nya asked she was a little more hesitant with the questions not wanting to get into anything to personal. "Not really...most of them found me weird to begin with but when they found about Garmadon I guess it just proved them right" Vinny responded. "Hah! Well sucks to be them your boyfriend is now Garmadon, I bet if he found about them talking shit about you he would kill them, so don't you dare listen to them they're idiots you're anything but weird" Nya said, "Yea...I guess Garm would do that for me...but I haven't told him about any of this and I don't plan to, I don't want him thinking he's the reason I'm thought to be weird or anything he usually takes things the wrong way and thinks I'm angry or upset at him..." Vinny said as he drank more tea.
"Well then if you won't tell him you're always free to talk to me about any problems, I know what it's like to be thought to be different, when I first became a ninja everyone thought it was weird and that I was weird but I ignored them and kept pushing and just like you I got together with the love of my life, Jay." Nya said hearing this made the cameraman feel way better, "Yea I guess..." Vinny said, Nya let out a sigh, "Well that's enough sad talk how about I go get Garmadon for you, you look like you want him" the water ninja chuckled out earning a nod from Vinny.
Nya left the room leaving Vinny alone with his thoughts.
(wooooo hope you enjoy of course I gave you another part)

Jay!
Hell yeah! The lightning ninja. Established early on as someone who literally cannot stop talking, the comic relief, the creative, scrappy guy all about reaching new heights! When we see his flashback sequence in s9, the concept that they stick with is the idea that Jay is a dreamer. He’s pretty ambitious always trying to craft something that will take him above and beyond (as in he was literally trying to make a flying machine), and his element helps symbolise it. He’s into being flashy like lightning, and tries to climb higher (relating to the sky). This ambition does lead to him having a lot of insecurities though, and he has some interesting ways of dealing with them but I’ll elaborate later.
Jay’s backstory when it’s told in s1, is the most straight forward. I mean, he’s the only ninja with both of his parents on regular speaking terms, although he grew up on a junkyard, it’s pretty mundane and he has an air of normalcy about him, which he seems to be trying to escape. He does really mundane stuff, like poetry and comic book reading (compared to Cole who abandoned art school to go mountain climbing shirtless). I kinda hc Jay having gone to public school and immediately getting bullied because he was raised in a junkyard and his parents are weird, bc those insecurities have gotta come from somewhere. He’s pretty impressionable too, getting fixated on video games and Cliff Gordon (and those also probably influenced his uhh outlook on women and romance).
Jay has a lot of insecurities. I’ve mentioned his upbringing but also his low self esteem is the crux of his true potential episode. Jay’s over the top bravado is him trying desperately to make others like him, almost to the point that he didn’t even tell anyone about the real problems he had (being a snake). The s3-4 love triangle plot follows the same themes; Jay feeling insecure and threatened by Cole, only to reveal that secretly he missed being Cole’s best friend and he hadn’t even confronted those feelings until s4. Again in s6, Nadakhan straight up says that Jay makes jokes to hide his deeper insecurities. And yeah I thinks it’s understandable why he would be a little insecure considering he’s living with shirtless mountain climber Cole, actually gets btiches Kai, literally computer for brain Zane, badass Samurai x Nya, and grandson of god chosen one Lloyd. On top of that, Jay is the most panicky ninja and the main comic relief of the team.
I think his greatest strength is his tenacity to succeed even when he’s at a low. As a junkyard boy, he learned to scrap together quick solutions out of barely anything as shown in Hunted, and when all his friends were captured in s6, he scrapped together a new team, and even after quitting the ninja he was able to make it big and score a job as a tv host. Nadakhan’s characterisation is supposed to parallel Jay in that, like Jay, Nadakhan also relies on what resources he had, and his own wits. Jay’s “fake it til you make it” personality has its use in how he doesn’t stop trying and can find ways to make the most out of his situation. He kinda embodies the message of Lego, being able to build his way to a solution. He’s a dreamer, with his head in the clouds, which makes sense because that’s usually where lightning is.
Although after all that’s happened to Jay, I have sort of a theory/headcanon to do with his perception of reality. Because Jay, since the start, already has some association with not being completely honest. I think Jay having some sort of detachment with reality is really interesting and it’s only briefly touched upon in the show. But yknow especially after s6 I think he should because a) Jay literally learned that season that he was adopted, and whilst he still loves his parents dearly, that’s still gonna shake him to find out that he doesn’t know a lot about his past and heritage, b) everyone he loves keep dying and undying again and again and at that point I think death would be even ever so slightly desensitised c) Jay literally bent reality to his will. He is one of the only two people who remember things that never happened, and all the tragedy that happened in his life was erased and promptly ignored. He never tells the other ninja. He’s never seen going back to Cliff Gordon’s house. We don’t see him go back for Echo. He isn’t shown to try to look for his mother.
(Crystalised part 1 spoilers)
Ninjago, intentionally or not, does play around with Jay and reality and his sanity in s9 and Crystalised. In s9, whilst Jay knows what’s going on, he just loses any semblance of self preservation and gives up with even the idea of being stressed about a situation so hopeless, and is weirdly at peace with it all. (Spoilers here) In Crystalised, Jay believes Nya is in cups of water and decides to become a hermit, cutting himself off from the world and kinda losing it. Jay tends to lose his grip on reality/lose faith in his situation and I think it might be because he’s been through a lot of things that have already made him question his life (s6). Also being separated fro Nya, who he not only loves but also is the only one who can possibly understand what he went through in s6, may have played a role in this.
It’s a shame Prime Empire didn’t really use this, since Prime Empire had all the pieces to have an escapism themed arc for Jay, which I think would’ve made sense since I think Jay could’ve used escapism to cope with his hardships, even before s6, even being a ninja is an escape from his boring junkyard life). Prime Empire provides a fun, totally harmless (not) adventure than you can physically use to run away from reality. Jay was popular there, and the most skilled there and it was supposed to be his season. I mean it would have been cool if the reason why half of Ninjago entered prime empire is because they’re also traumatised and want to leave too (just last season they were attacked by fire snakes and eldritch horrors). But they don’t really explore it that much so there’s some missed potential there (one day, I’ll rewrite this season).
Although we can see, ever since s6, some of Jay’s insecurities are alleviated. It might just be the writer change, but post 7 Jay seems to be a lot goofier that pre 7 Jay, (the uwuification), and I’m interpreting that as him no longer feeling like he needs to fake bravado in front of everyone else. And that’s nice. Jay has some really good developement, and is a really enjoyable character to watch because he’s just so endearing in my opinion. In conclusion, I like Jay’s arc and his consistent character traits and his character development, and he’s just a really interesting character.

Were the Silent breaks Part 1
Lego Ninjago Master of Spinjitzu was created by Michael Hegner and Tommy Andreasen the owners of the series.
This story was inspirert by justbirdie, Huge thanks to them.
I do not own Ninjago
This is my first story hope you like it.
__________________________________
It's been 6 months since the defeat of the crystal king and his minions, peace is once again back to the people of Ninjago, all thanks to the brave heroes. After the defeat the people of Ninjago demanded that the mayor stop hunting the ninja and after some talking the mayor finally agreed to let them go. People have already started to rebuild the city again while our heroes are still fighting evil, even with the bigger threats gone there are still bad guys out there that need to be stopped.
We continued the day with the ninjas arriving back at the monastery on a calm night after stopping a bank robbery.
Jay enters the living area with a huge smile, Nya not too far behind.
"Another day rescued by the ninja" He fist pumps the air while jumping up in the air in his excitement.
"Relax dude, it’s just a robbery" Cole rolled his eyes at his friend's stupidity.
"Right, ~but~ we still beat the bad guys," Jay replied back as he sat down on the couch.
"You missed my point dude," Cole said bluntly, shuffling forward and plopping down.
Zane came in smiling at his two brothers arguing. "Some things never change" he thought.
"After everything that has happened to this city, you think they would learn a lesson" Said Lloyd, annoyed.
Looking at his little brother with sympathy Kai snickers. "We could've saved the world another hundred times, I doubt they would've learned" He crossed his arms.
"Yeah.. well" He punched Kai's shoulder lightly "It would be nice if they did''
"I'm proud of you all" Wu entered the room with Garmadon. (He got turned back to human after the crystal king was defeated. P.S I know that's not what really happened but it’s my story so I go at it =D)
Everybody turned towards the two."Even when the odds were against you, never stopped you from fighting"
"It’s our pleasure," Lloyd replied.
" I don't know about you guys but I am starving" Jay began patting his belly.
Cole gave a big smile. "Then you are in luck, cause it’s my turn to cook" He said with pride.Jay's face seemed to lose all color.
"Oh Nooooo" Cole looked coffended at Jay’s answer.
"What you mean Oh No!?
""No big offense man…" Jay knew he was gonna regret this, but it had to be done or he would die.
"Your cooking can be a little……bad" Jay scrambled behind the couch.
It became quiet as all eyes were on Cole.
"It's not that bad!!" He offered.
"You literally broke Zane last time," Nya replied.
There was a split second of silence, then the whole room broke into laughter, even the two masters themself.
Cole crossed his arms as he turned around mumbling something about his recipes being appetizers.
After a few minutes of laughing and making sure the master of earth didn't kill the master of lighting, Kai went beside Cole, pulling his arm over his shoulder as he led him into the kitchen.
"Come on, we'll cook together," Kai said.
Even though Cole loved to cook his favorite recipes, Kai's style of cooking was good old homemade meals, instead of big fancy meals like Zane likes, his meal was simple but delicious. If Cole had to give up cooking he would be happy Kai was the one taking over, next to Zane of course nobody could beat Zane's cooking.
"Fine," Cole said, while Kai gave him a smile as they entered the kitchen.
"Okay, dude" Pulling out a cooking book he turned to Cole. "Let's start"
A few minutes later they began to cut vegetables, while Kai was cutting some carrots. If he had looked an inch to the side he would see Cole looking at him with worried eyes.
When the crystal king was finally defeated and things began to calm down in the city for some random reason the other startet to wonder about Kai, when something bad happens.
It wasn't that he was acting sad or heartbroken. No, he was acting far too casual, maybe alittle angry and silly but that was normal. From different moments in his life, from catastrophic mission to losing someone, he'd shrugged off almost any concern the others showed towards him, simply stating that he was fine and began making sure the others were okay.
But to them it wasn't…. normal.
After everything he had encountered, especially after they lost Nya to the sea.
One would expect Kai would be devastated and heartbroken, with Jay he had locked himself in dr Julian's old tower to mourn her death even Lloyd quit the team to be a window cleaner because he was scared. The two explain it was never the same without her. Kai's reaction however shocked them, he wasn't mourning her sacrifice at the blacksmith with his parents, he had in the start but it didn't last long. Nya's death had effectet him that was true but not in the way they had first anticipated, and interaction between Kai and Jay had brought out a new view.
It really had them all thinking back all the time anything tragic happened to them, Kai was almost always there for the others, whether it was during the night or day, he was always there to lend a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen to.
But it also raises the question.
Who checked on Kai?
Not once could anybody ever recall talking with Kai or if he was okay after missions, the few times they did were mere small moments. He had almost always denied their support in any way possible and in due time they thought he was just being stubborn or thinking he was telling the truth so they never really brought it up.
Everybody wanted to ask him but hasn’t found the time and dare they admit courage to ask.
"Once you're done cutting the onions could you make the sauce?" Kai's voice startled him, interrupting his thoughts.
Blinking a few times Cole hesitated. "Y..Yeah, dude" Dark brown eyes flickering away momentarily before returning to his task.
×××××Time Skip×××××
After 30 minutes of cooking, Cole finally gathered his courage.
"Hey Kai" He started carefully as he placed the last plate on the table.
"Sup, dude" Kai replied happly, not taking his eyes off the stew he was steering.
Taking a deep breath and straightening his body slightly.
"Do you…." He hesitated. "Regret joining the team?" He asked.
Kai froze at the question, Cole couldn't withhold a wince as he heard Kai's neck crack as he turned to look at him.
"Maybe this was a mistake?!. Maybe I should've just kept quiet? Maybe it wasn't the right time" Cole thought as Kai kept staring at him.
"What?" Kai asked.
"I just wondered" He ran a hand through his hair. "I asked everybody else and I wanted to hear your answer" A small lie, but he had to make up something to cover his tracks.
Kai hesitated for a moment.
"Look.. you don't have to anw-"
"I'm not completely sure," Kai interrupted.
He turned off the stove then went to lean on the counter. Kai sighed, running a hand through his hair as he stared at his boots.
Cole sat slowly as he waited for Kai to tell him.
"To begin with, I joined this team to save my sister," He began.
"But after that… I followed the path of a ninja" Kai managed a strained smile, crossing his arms
"I will admit. It was a crazy time" Kai snickers. "But I had a blast. All those adventures and all those battles we had the friends we made along the way, I would never trade for anything else" Kai looked at Cole.
"However" His smile fell. "We also had alot going on, bad things" "It made me wonder if it was worth it"
He averted his eyes to look out the window."Was it worth all the pain? There were times when I wanted to quit the team, a part of my brain told me to just take Nya back to the blacksmith were it was safe and forget this whole mess and live our life like before"
"Why didn't you?" Cole asked.Kai looked back at Cole with hesitance.
"There was more need here," He replied.
Cole was left speechless, Kai however, was uncomfortable and turned back to the stew.
"Let's get this done before Jay starts fussing over us," Kai said, his happy spirit gone.
"S..Sure" Was the only reply Cole gave.
×××××Time Skip×××××
It was around dinner time and everybody was enjoying eachothers company alongside the meal Cole and Kai made.
"Mmmmm" Jay stuck a mouthful of food in his mouth. "This so good"
"Indeed" Zane gave the two chefs a smile. "Thank you dear brothers for this meal"
"Your welcome man," Kai replied. "But I couldn't have done it without this man" He bumped into Cole.
Cole smiled at him.
Suddenly a phone broke that moment, Kai suddenly stood up looking guilty .
"Sorry. Must be my dad" Waving his phone, he left the room.
A silence took over. But that silence was quickly interrupted by Lloyd who looked uncomfortable as he asked.
"What you think Kai meant?"
Cole nearly choked on his drink. He put it down as he coughed.
Nya leaned over and patted Cole on the back to help him.
Cole recovered and said, "How did you know?!"
"I was passing by" Lloyd said guiltily, he hadn't meant to eavesdrop on their conversation, it was an accident.
Cole was quiet as the other turned to him confused.
"Cole, what is Lloyd talking about?" Nya asked, worried there was something wrong with her brother.
He didn't get much time to think before Kai rentered the room, still on the phone.
"Okay dad, I'll be out soon" He hung up the phone and looked at his second family with a sorry expression.
"Sorry I gotta cut my dinner short" He told them.
"What's wrong brother?" Nya Ask.
"Nothing to worry sis. Dad just told me, he's here to tell me something, " He replied.
"I'll be back soon" He then left again.
They waited until they heard the door close then turned their attention back to Cole.
"Cole"
Cole didn't know if he should, but in the end the others would find out one way or another.
So with a deep breath he told them what Kai told him. To say shocked was an understanding, but there was also confusion, after a few minutes of silence everybody tried to find out what to do with this information.
"I mean yeah I get the dude" Jay began rubbing his neck. " But even that doesn’t explain much doesv it"
"No it doesn’t" Zane replied.
"So what do we do?" Lloyd asked.
"I don't know," Cole said.
"Maybe we can look in his room?" Jay suggested.
"ARE YOU CRAZY!!" Everybody yelled at Jay.
Each ninja knew Kai didn't like people in his room, and they respected that, alongside the fact that Kai would lose it if anybody did try to enter his room.
"Jay, you know Kai hates it when people enter his room" Nya said, sounding very warily.
"I know, but what other option do we have?" Jay replied back as he was already making his way to the sleeping quarters.
"JAY!" The other followed after Jay, while the masters stayed behind.
"Dude this is a bad idea" Cole said. "We should just wait for Kai to return then ask him
"They stopped by Kai's bedroom door, while Jay went for the door handle.
"Listen dude. I want answers as much as you do" Lloyd began.
"But this is not the way," He said angrily.
"It's worth the risk" He said as he opened the door and stepped in, the others following him.
The room wasn't messy as they had expected. It was very simple compared to the others who either had a big television or huge bookshelf or alot of decor. Kai's room had no television or bookshelf, his room contained a medium window with red curtains, on the windshield was some few pictures and a simple plant. In the room was also a simple desk, two small shelves above the bed with a few books, beside the bed was a small desk with two cabinets and a wardrobe, a small light was giving a soft glow to the room.
"I really thought the room would be filled with pictures of Kai," Jay joked.
"Atleast, it’s not as messy as yours," Jay '' Cole replied funny.
"What you mean? It’s not that messy!!" Jay yelled.
"Have you seen it dude!" Cole rolled his eyes. "I never seen anything like it"
"Guys don't lose focus" Lloyd interrupted looking out the door to make sure Kai wasn't returning.
"Okay" Jay started to look around. "If I was Kai, where would I hide stuff?"
"Well find it!" Lloyd was getting worried.
From the corner of his eye he noticed a loose plank. "Bingo" He bent down and pried it open to reveal a small room with some few items, among them was a book.
"This most be it guys!" He yelled triumph.
"Okay let's see" He didn't get to open it before it was snatched from his hands.
"HE-" He turned to yell at whoever took it from him but shrunk down when he was met with Kai's furious face, he didn't even hear him enter, Jay noticed the others had their head down in shame behind Kai.
"Found anything good" He growled.
"Yoooy d..dude" Jay got up.
The others looked at eachother before exiting the room leaving Jay with a furious Kai.
"Briefing Room. Now" He pointed at the door, Jay felt small at the gaze Kai gave him.
"Okay I can exp-" He tried.
"Save it Jay" His voice startled him. It sounded so… angry and so… sad as Kai pointed at the door again, looking more furious.
With a defeated sigh Jay left, he winced at the door slamming hard behind him. As he made his way to the briefing room Jay started to have regret and wished he'd listened to his friends.
Upon entering the room, the others had gathered together talking.
"I knew this was a bad idea," Lloyd said.
"How angry do you think he is?" Cole asked.
"I don't know," Nya admitted. Never had she encountered anything with her brother to that scale.
All eyes turned to the door as both master Wu and Garmadon entered the room with Kai behind them still mad."I think we have some issues to take care of, '' Wu declared calmly.
Before he could continue the alarm sounded.
"NINJA'S" Borg's fantric face came on the big screen, he looked to be hiding under something and everyone could hear the chaos going around him.
"Borg, what's the emergency?" Lloyd answered, immediately going to leader mode.
"A bunch of intruders are attacking borg tower"
"We're on ou-" Before he could finish the screen went black with Borg screaming face the last thing they saw.
"Team let's go" Kai was the first to sprint out.
"We will talk when you return," Wu said.
Everybody nodded then left after Kai.

Part one of crossover idea I had
Alright so on to that idea I had that I said I would explain in more depth that I do not have a name for yet because I am not that creative with names.
Though knowing me I’m going to get too into it as I do this and make more problems for me.
Oh well.
Anyway~
So the main driving point of this idea is that Lloyd has two half siblings from other worlds in Lucy heartfilia from fairytail, and Neil from Class of the Titans (if you don’t know this one I recommend it’s great)
How does this work? Well we already know wu and garmadon got up into shenanigans in their thousands years of life as demigods so you can’t tell me they didn’t go to other worlds a lot when they were young.
So on two occasions, garmadon had sweet but short relationships with women before leaving again, and those women found other partners they married. They assumed the child they had came from them, not the stranger of their brief relationship.
You can imagine, for at least the heartfilias, the surprise when the other genetics kick in
Look garmadon is a demigod dragon/oni hybrid you cannot tell me his genetics won’t be weird
I mean look at Lloyd he received most of the oni genetics and the elemental power.
Agh I’m getting off track ANYWAY
Lucy is the oldest child, Neil the middle and Lloyd the youngest. The biggest age gap is between Lloyd and both his siblings. Neil is maybe four or five years younger than Lucy. And Lloyd is 12 years younger than Lucy.
Now back to the other stuff
Lucy received a lot of dragon genetics from garmadon. You can imagine what happy little terror she was. Some of her genetics are physical attributes such as her teeth being sharper than normal or her bones being denser. She gave her parents so many heart attacks.
I also want to develop how this also effects her celestial summoning and celestial magic in general.
I’m going to take so many liberties with it but I’ll save that for another time
Neil is mostly human, his Greek heritage and power of luck aside he’s the one who has almost entirely skipped out in the oni and dragon genetics and the instincts that come with them (I bet it’s the luck) though he also has some uncharacteristicly sharp teeth when he gets angry.
He doesn’t have to deal with nearly the same amount of drama or chaos as the other two do, so he’s really chill. Even later when the Cronus thing is going on. He’s so used to the bullshit his siblings deal with that it does not phase him at all.
Now Lloyd of course got the brunt of the oni genetics, though he’s not at the stage where he can access his second form. It effects his behavior in a lot of ways that I’ll probably go into later.
Now onto the other part.
Lucy and Neil meet first. Lucy when she wants to escape her dad’s sad and depressing and psychologically abusive home environment and the fate her dad wants to force her into, subconsciously uses her magic to send herself to the closest relative
This sends her straight to another world and through the roof of Neil’s house.
His parents are chill with it, and Neil’s mom vaguely recalls a handsome stranger doing the same thing at some point.
Explaining her situation and what happened (his parents are used to this and the Greek bullshit of their lives this is nothing) they quickly realize that the stranger is Neil’s and Lucy’s dad. But they can’t just let her return to a dangerous environment (in their world Jude would have been imprisoned for child abuse/neglect and attempted child marriage and trafficking) and decide to keep her there with them.
It’s a much better environment for her and it takes a long time for her to feel comfortable with therapy and the calm attitude of the home.
She and Neil get along great and are similar in many aspects. There are many shopping sprees and late night gossip meetings with snacks, nail painting, face masks and romcoms in the background
They also found out the hard way that they both have latent luck abilities, and that when they are together that luck cancels out so it’s just normal luck. As seen when Neil was doing something he normally would and then was suddenly injured when that has never happened before.
Lucy eventually leaves to travel her own world and join the guild of her dreams. (I won’t go into it here but her dragon instincts really get into it with the other slayers and erza)
Also the seven year time prison thing doesn’t happen and instead it’s like 3 months
A few years later, a few guild wars and an actual war happened, Lucy unlocked her full dragon form and rocked acnologia’s shit and killed him. And Neil’s been chosen by the gods of his world to kill their dad/relative of chaos.
At this point the traveling to other worlds is figured out, and Lucy would rather Neil come to her so she doesn’t cancel out his luck if a surprise attack occurs and he’ll need it.
She’s a free mentor to the team and as she’s a person who’s killed a chaos being her insight is extremely helpful
Neil and Lucy decide they want to meet their birth father and decide to use the same spell Lucy did the first time to find him.
Instead they found themselves in a frozen cold region with no one for miles around
And a small fragile 8 year old Lloyd who is the only one around.
They immediately know he’s a sibling and are absolutely furious at whoever abandoned him out here by himself. Their dad forgotten.
Lloyd is hesitant to trust them but his instincts recognize them as elders in the family so he goes with them. They learn that their shared dad is in the underworld and that Lloyd was supposed to be with his mom or uncle and away from their dad, as garmadon feared he would hurt Lloyd in anyway and wanted him safe and away from him. Learning their bio dad isn’t at fault was nice but they are still angry about the abandonment and obvious neglect and possibly abuse from the boarding school on Lloyd’s behalf (if it’s burned to the ground and all the children being out in better places with actual proper therapy and help for their psychological issues and neurological disorders and teachers arrested then no one needs to know)
For a lot of the time he’s set up with Neil’s parents or Lucy and the guild. They all adore him and are angry on his behalf.
Lucy is completely furious when she bonds with Lloyd and knows his story is considerably mirroring her own and sends her spiraling.
Neil is angry on both of his siblings behalf’s and will be endlessly petty. Lloyd spends a year happy and fully integrated into the family.
Then they hear new that garmadon was defeated by ninjas.
They of course have to see it for themselves and travel to the underworld and finally meet him.
He knew about Lloyd, but now he’s completely blind sighted by two other children he didn’t know about.
Surprised and horrified that there were two other children of his he didn’t get to know or love or be worried about.
They’re there now though, and now he has two other spaces in his heart to keep his sanity.
Honestly I could keep going but I really need to stop or this will go one forever. I’ll pick this up again later

Resemblance
“Are you worried about Lloyd?” Colette asked, her voice a soft reminder.
During a rainy day in Asgard, Kratos takes up cooking for the party. Colette notices quite a few things.
Fandom: Tales of Symphonia Characters/Pairing: Colette Brunel, Kratos Aurion, Lloyd Irving Rating: G Word Count: 2747 Mirror Link: AO3 Notes: I couldn’t get the image of Kratos making seafood stew out of my head and this was the result. May or may not be a dad reveal.
--
It rained quite often in Asgard, Kratos noticed. The city was built on hills and uneven land, and the caverns full of archaic paintings and carvings were nestled within the mountains. Along with the wind that the city was famous for also came rainfalls and thunderstorms. On its worst days, there was even danger of flooding, with many people who lived on the lower levels having to seek higher ground.
But today, it was a semi-gentle rain, the start of a summer shower that could ruin a sunhat or soak through a bedroll that wasn’t set up underneath some cover. Kratos spared a glance through the inn’s kitchen window as he watched the raindrops fall onto the stone stairs, on the half-broken walkways above, on the fallen pillars that the villagers simply walked around. The moss growing and re-growing on it was already several decades old, the rain making it glisten in what little sunlight could peek through the clouds.
He heard the kitchen door swinging open, followed by the sound of unsteady footsteps.
“Mr. Kratos, I got the pot cleaned out!” Colette was holding the gigantic iron cookware in her arms as it hid the lower half of her face. Kratos could only see a pair of blue eyes peek out over the rim, topped with brilliant yellow hair. Such a sight vanished when she predictably tripped.
It was routine at this point in the journey. Their travels consistently took them over rugged terrain, through the rapidly changing weather that foretold the decline of the world. Kratos tugged the pot away from Colette while grasping her shoulder to keep her standing. “Thank you, but it is fine to ask for help, Chosen.”
“Ah, right. I’m sorry.” Colette laughed away the stumble, even as a flush rose to her cheeks. “I’m just excited to try your cooking. What is it you’ll be making again?”
“Seafood stew. It’s a very basic recipe.” Kratos placed the pot atop the wood stove, while Colette went to retrieve some of the pre-filleted fish that had been placed within an icebox. “Though the ingredients would be easier to acquire back in Palmacosta.”
He already reached for the fish Colette handed to him—the tuna, specifically—to season with the pepper. She then dutifully stood nearby, seeming so fascinated by his actions that it made Kratos a little self-conscious.
“The meal shouldn’t take too long.”
“Oh, I know! Sorry, is it weird to stay in here?” Her tone held that same politeness when they had first met back at Iselia’s temple, but now with a familiarity to it. He supposed that was only natural after months of traveling together, and with her proper nature already easing once Lloyd and Genis joined the group. “I wanted to see how different this is from Dirk’s stew.”
His hands paused just momentarily, in mid-cut of the fish’s meat, before they resumed their task. “I must say I am not familiar with the culinary arts of dwarves. It truly must be unique.”
“It’s the only meal I know that has all sorts of pretty gems inside the food!” Colette just supplied the information with no question at all, and certainly did not see Kratos raise an eyebrow at the words. “Lloyd’s tried cooking it himself, but he can’t always find the right gems, and just plain rocks don’t work as well. But he still makes it really tasty.”
Do children in Iselia regularly eat meals like this? Kratos instantly wondered in slight horror. Perhaps it was because he had not been in Sylvarant for over a decade, so it could very well have become a custom now… He cleared his throat, already imagining a gem stuck in his throat and feeling uncomfortable.
“I’m sorry to say that I don’t have a taste for that personally. I prefer fish.”
He gave no thought to what he said, but the giggle that followed was light. “Hehe, is that why you know this recipe?”
Kratos poured a few tablespoons of olive oil into the pot, the fire already heating it up. “It’s an old recipe from Luin that I learned many years back.” He could still recall the sizzle of the vegetables in the early evening, the scent of the grass as he and another would lay out blankets on the ground so that they could eat peacefully, the weight of the bundle in her arms as she shushed it to sleep.
The nostalgia that suffused his thoughts was sudden. He paused again, then reached for the red snapper to also season thoroughly.
“I haven’t cooked this meal in many years, so I may be a bit rusty.”
And yet, he had wanted to cook it again, after all this time.
Colette was still by his side, hands clasped behind her, eyes intent. The rain continued to patter against the windowsill. It was the sort of sound Kratos would unconsciously sharpen his hearing for with his Exsphere. The soft, repeating thumps against those age-old pillars, sinking into the moss, or trickling down the stone’s face to fall to the earth beneath.
“Are you worried about Lloyd?” Colette asked, her voice a soft reminder.
He sighed to cover up the surprise he felt. “I’m mostly worried that he is taking a while to get back with the vegetables. I’ll be unable to cook this meal as intended otherwise.” He needed the onions to give the meal any decent flavor, the radishes and carrots to make it more filling and give the stew its brothy texture. But he hadn’t given much thought that the rain would make Asgard’s uneven terrain a bit more treacherous to walk over. It was likely the stone walkways that led up to the grocers was now slick with the water as well, and Lloyd did tend to be careless…
Colette gently tapped his shoulder, once again taking him out of his thoughts. “Chosen?”
“You know, Mr. Kratos, it’s okay to say you’re worried about him.” She smiled again, looking out the window as well, at the high cliffs where the windmills blew with the force of the small storm. “I think he’d be happy to hear that.”
Leave it to the Chosen, to Colette, to render him speechless. Kratos cleared his throat, gathering some of the water for the pot within a wooden cup. “I would only hope he’s not distracted from his task.”
Still, was it that obvious?
Colette had an astuteness about her that he couldn’t fail to notice. Even after awakening the first seal, she had kept firm to her role, utilizing her angelic abilities with quick skill, most likely from years of studying the texts from Cruxis. And even now, she showed her interest in a meal he was making that she had no way of tasting at all.
So far, no one else in their group had caught onto her lie. But Kratos continued to prepare the meal, mincing the garlic to fry at the bottom of the pot. The urge to apologize to her for not thinking to cook earlier in the journey nearly left his tongue. It would have been useless to say, would have brought up too many complications. Even if he was quite sure that the Chosen suspected he was more than a wandering mercenary who had appeared at just the right time.
She was certainly different from the last one he had accompanied. And the one before that, and the one before. But, the quiet air Colette sometimes had around her echoed all of the past Chosen in many ways.
He pushed the memories aside. Useless to think of them again.
“Do you also know how to cook pescatore?” Colette asked, her eyes still so curious. “My father used to make it a lot but with flounder.”
Another unexpected question from her, but Kratos was more prepared for it this time. “I don’t tend to like the sauce used for it, so I never really learned it.”
“Oh? You mean the tomato sauce?”
“Yes.”
And, perhaps, that wasn’t what he should have mentioned at all, because he saw a light within Colette’s eyes that had always been flickering. Now they brightened, like the stars shining through a veil of clouds.
“So just like—”
By then, the kitchen door burst open with the force of a hurricane, rain spilling inside and already drenching the carpet that had been laid out on the floor. The sound was so loud that Kratos nearly dropped his knife in the middle of chopping.
Kratos had been so focused on the rain that he hadn’t heard Lloyd himself until it was too late, his head already ringing from the boy’s very, very loud voice.
“I’m here! I got the other vegetables! They’re kinda soaked though!” Lloyd was panting, the paper bag he carried completely drenched, threatening to let the items inside break through and fall. “Ugh, I’m soaked now…”
Kratos noted how Lloyd tended to exaggerate some things, but he truly was drenched from head to toe. The odd white ribbons that trailed from his collar were heavy with moisture, along with his boots. His red jacket hung from his shoulders, as if now twice its usual size.
It was almost déjà vu for Lloyd to walk forward and also nearly trip, but it was Colette who saved him and the falling burden he carried. She quickly placed the paper bag full of vegetables on the counter, then turned back to face Lloyd, hands placed over Lloyd’s shoulders.
But Kratos saw the soft smile lift her lips, the joy leaving her voice. “Oh, your hair!”
A groan left the boy. “Don’t remind me. This is why I hate the rain.”
“Aw, but it looks so cute on you.”
Lloyd shook his head like a wet dog, making Colette laugh then. Usually spiked up, his hair now fell over the front of his face, effectively covering his eyes. He pushed aside one part of it to look at Colette and Kratos with at least half of his gaze. “It’s not that cute if I can’t see… It made walking around way more of a hassle.”
Questions hovered on Kratos’ tongue, such as why did Lloyd simply not wait for the rain to pass, or could he not just tie back his hair? But in the end, he was the reason Lloyd had even gone outside in the first place—and he was grateful for any kindness Lloyd afforded him.
“I trust you’re not hurt then,” he said. His tone came off flat without any intention.
Lloyd raised his head to Kratos—or in the general direction of him, still trying to see through the sheet of wet hair. “Uh, yeah! I’m fine. Sorry I was late. But I got double the ingredients, just in case!” Lloyd nodded in pride, while somehow getting even more hair over his face, instantly making him frown again.
Colette helped by pushing his hair back, but not too much. She kept a few strands hanging down, her grin stretched wide.
Well, she enjoys this, Kratos thought, already used to the pair’s affection.
“I simply needed the regular amount, but thank you, Lloyd.” It certainly was a lot of vegetables when Kratos checked the bag, but they were indeed all there. He took out one of the onions first, proceeding to peel off the outer skin. “I apologize for sending you out in such rough weather.”
“It’s fine, it’s not that bad,” Lloyd said, oblivious to the fact that he had been complaining loudly about it not even five minutes ago. “But since you’re cooking for once, I wanted to make sure we had everything we need!” He shook his hair out again, the water sputtering the fire within the wood stove.
“…Maybe you should dry up before dinner,” Kratos helpfully advised, trying to shield the cooking pot from more of Lloyd’s shakes.
“Agh, I know! Sorry.”
“I think we have a towel here,” Colette said as she searched the kitchen’s pantry and found one of the soft fabrics nearby. She quickly draped it over Lloyd’s head, hands pressed against it as she helped him dry. “It’s like drying a puppy!”
Perhaps for the first time, Kratos saw such bright red completely fill up Lloyd’s face. He typically didn’t get embarrassed with Colette, but perhaps with the rain and with Kratos being witness to them both, he was a little more self-aware. “Colette, come on…”
“Hm? Is there something wrong with what I said?”
“Not really, but you know… I’m older than a puppy!”
That brought another smile to the Chosen, but as she continued to dry Lloyd’s hair, she paused. She stared right into the boy’s face, all while Kratos let the onions sizzle and then went to chop the carrots next.
In the heated kitchen, with the crackling fire and Lloyd’s clothes still dripping rainwater to the floor, he stuttered, “W-What is it?”
“…You look similar.”
It was the way she said it that made Kratos turn, that made him look at Lloyd as well. Brown hair still fell over Lloyd’s forehead, drier now. But with the pale sunlight that streamed in through the window, it colored his hair into something brighter, his fringe slightly pointed, slightly unkempt.
Kratos, to his shame, had not recognized his son until he had heard Lloyd’s name being spoken aloud, and continued to doubt until he faced that grave out in the wilderness. But now, as Lloyd blinked at Colette, his hair looking much longer now, falling against his cheek, Kratos could also find that resemblance.
Colette quickly looked over at Kratos, then back to Lloyd, a light shining in her eyes.
The Chosen had always been astute.
“Similar to what?” Lloyd asked her, left out of a secret he had no idea even existed. “Are you going to tell me I look like another dog you found?”
Colette was still drying his hair, slower and more focused. Her right hand shifted to move the fringe away from his face. “Hm, would it be bad if I said yes?”
“Well, it beats looking like a turtle when I sleep.”
“You could be both,” Colette teased. She now draped the towel over Lloyd’s eyes, giggling at his whines. “Now I need to put you and the doggy side by side to compare.”
“Then he must be a cool-looking dog!” Lloyd countered. And soon, there was his own grin and laughter, because no matter how out there Colette’s conversation topics were, Lloyd would gladly follow along.
Kratos felt a bit more at ease then, but still wondered at Colette’s thoughtful gaze. Maybe it had just been his imagination. It was certainly no secret that Colette adored dogs and befriended every stray they met in the cities they passed through.
She couldn’t possibly know for certain, Kratos mused as he threw the sliced carrots into the pot, along with the fish so that everything could boil. That is, unless she was just hiding the fact…
…And if so, was she also calling Kratos a dog then with her comparison?
“Hey, that smells good!” Lloyd called out, leaning over to check on the simmering stew that was packed with fish, vegetables, and spices. His hair was now a little frizzy from all of Colette’s drying. “It’s not beef, but fish is like my second favorite!”
“You should eat other foods besides red meat for a good balance of nutrients,” Kratos found himself saying. “I’ll make sure your bowl has enough vegetables, since you brought us extra.”
“…I give you a compliment and you tell me that?”
Colette reached to take Lloyd’s hand, pulling him towards the kitchen door. “We should tell the others about dinner and let Kratos finish cooking. Also, your clothes are still really wet!”
Lloyd didn’t argue, except with another whine about his wet jacket and how damp it felt. Still, just before they left through the door, Colette looked back to Kratos, then said to Lloyd, “At least with Mr. Kratos’ cooking, you won’t ever have to worry about eating tomatoes.”
“Huh?” Lloyd’s confusion was so stark, even as he was led by her hands that held tight to his loose sleeves. “Wait, does he not like tomatoes either?”
Lloyd tried to turn back to look, but the door shut by then. Both of their voices faded as they went further into the inn.
Kratos topped the stew pot with the lid, then let out a great sigh.
Colette Brunel was very astute indeed.

43 with Lloyd and Raven? If you're writing is even as half as good as your art then it will be incredible
"I'm staying here, and I'm not moving. I do not care about your empty threats! Hey-- wait-- what are you doing?"
682 words (It's silly and domestically fluffy I promise) (I'm not gonna dramatically angst on an innocent asker who's being very very very nice to me)
(Ao3 link)
.
Lazy mornings were always a delight, no matter the narrative, or how many occasions time itself seemed to slow down for the two of them to enjoy the small joys of early morning drowsiness. One of the beauties that came with the lovers archetype, Lloyd supposed, was the way the metaverse itself seemed to bend to let them relish in cliche contentments, tropes that, despite being cheesy and overused, brought bubbles of excitement to his chest that he struggled to find elsewhere.
That day, however, was not one of those lazy mornings. Lloyd wanted to set off, and soon. It was always better to be safe than sorry, especially on occasions such as this, where he was unsure of the narrative's exact goals. Did it want Lloyd's plan to work? Or did it not care, and was simply content to let time flow relatively normally in this narrative?
"Ravey," Lloyd said softly, laying a hand on his still-sleeping boyfriend's shoulder. "Come on, love, we need to get ready soon." Raven's eyes flitted halfway open, casting a bleary look at Lloyd.
"Come back to bed. We've got time." Raven murmured, pulling the blanket over his head and Lloyd's shoulders, in an attempt to stop any more shoulder pokes while he tried to fall back into sleep. Lloyd let himself give a small chuckle.
He didn't answer, and gently manoeuvred himself out of the tangle of limbs. Raven frowned slightly, and curled in on himself, trying to retain the warmth of another person, but didn't open his eyes again. Lloyd didn't try to wake him again until he had his shirt on, and had carefully tied his tie in the mirror.
"Ravey," He repeated, a little louder this time. "You still need to get ready."
Raven's eyes opened, wider this time, and Lloyd got the impression that he hadn't truly fallen back to sleep. It didn't matter, the warmth of blankets and pillows was just as tempting as sleep was.
"Or you could come back to bed." Raven challenged. "It's warm. And too early."
"The bird's already on his 21st spin of the moon, or however it is they measure time in this place," Lloyd said. "My point is, you're going to spend ages getting ready-"
"I can do my makeup quickly." Raven twisted to bury his face in the pillows, and Lloyd rolled his eyes, giving him a less-than-gentle poke in the back. "What was that for, Lloyd?" He protested.
"Up, and I'll make you breakfast." He offered a bribe. Raven seemed to ponder it for a moment.
"...And you won't complain if I spend an hour in the bathroom?" Raven tried his luck.
"Not a chance."
"Then I'm not moving." He said with a grin. Lloyd raised an eyebrow.
"So it's going to be like that?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about, Lloyd. I am the picture of innocence in every situation."
Lloyd spared a glance at the clock. Any longer, and they probably were going to be late. Then he looked back at Raven.
It really was nice, in the moments they were together like this. Free to laugh and joke and live as themselves, now the gnomes were gone. Even if archetypes were creeping in, archetypes they didn't quite understand, they could still steal moments of bliss like this.Moments of annoying bliss, as Raven's shit-eating grin was staring back at him.
"You know, Ravey, I'm really glad the homes here have running water," Lloyd said, faux-sweetly. Raven's grin faltered slightly at that.
"What?"
"Cold water, too. I bet you wouldn't want that to wake you up, would you?"
"I'm staying here, and I'm not moving. I do not care about your empty threats!" Raven crossed his arms behind his head, very much awake, but it was the principle of the thing at this point. "Hey-- wait-- what are you doing?" Raven's eyes went wide as Lloyd started to leave the room. They went even wider as he heard the sounds of the tap.

LEGO NINJAGO SUBTERRANEAN AU (P6)
Lloyd!!
These are original designs so I’d appreciate you didn’t heavily reference, steal or copy them :)
Tumblr media
If you haven’t seen the other posts and aren’t aware what Subterranean AU is, again see the post before this one. Easy explanation, it’s a magical boy au with the ninjas as magical boys. In the AU the boys are all tied together to Lloyd in ribbons of fate. The AU takes place in an original setting I made for a group of ocs that I out the ninjas in.
If you seen the original you already know this but if not, this is his role in the story
Lloyd is only 10, his father went missing years ago and his mother disappeared soon after, leaving Lloyd alone. He became a bit of a street rat, he searched for his father every day, until he started feeling drawn to this one library. There’s where he meets the librarians assistant, Kai. He doesn’t know why he feels so attracted to this stranger, but he ends up coming to the library every day. Feeling pulled towards Kai. At first thinking it was the safe aura he gave, he soon found out it was much more. Lloyd was used to anti-magic propaganda, Lloyd had no real opinion on magic. As he started hanging out with Kai, three others ended up joining their little group. Each being very different, Lloyd had never really had friends, so it was nice being surrounded by them. It wasn’t until he found out he was magic, he will never forget their horrified expressions… it got even worse when their magic (which,, he didn’t even know they were magic!!) reacted to his, feeling stronger and glowing brighter, it was then they realized they had been fated to each other. Their fate ribbons joint together in a bow at Lloyd’s fingertips. Of course, at first none of them liked it. Even Zane, who Lloyd found out was the infamous Falcon, none of them wanted this. Mainly because they loved Lloyd, and him being magic meant he was in danger. It was that fact that pushed them into changing that. Even though Lloyds magic was still to underdeveloped for him to transform and use it properly, and he is terrified of the future, he loves the family it gave him along the way.
At this point in the plot, he doesn't have a magical transformation because his magic is too new, and he doesn't have enough to do a full body transformation. When your magic is weaker, only a few things change from form to form. The outfit itself is based on you, it is personal. It's based off your feelings and what you want it to look like, though his future outfit is based off a Chinese dragon. His magic gem is on his navel, as well as his fate bow. The green on his cheeks is supposed to look like dragon scales.
Little trivia for him
He's kinda homeless not gonna lie. He sleeps around, and used to live in a boarding school but he ran away to find his dad.
He's 10 years old
He doesn't go to school, but sometimes one of the guys, or Nya will teach him stuff. Especially because he usually stays at Kai's library, he learns often. Mainly from Zane or Nya though.
None of them ty understand his powers yet because they're so newly developed that he can't use any spells or anything. His magic has a lot to do with destiny, his team has the strongest destiny pull all thanks to Lloyd, once Lloyd's magic developed it was an immediate, the four others were instantly pulled to him or vise versa, no matter if they tried to fight it. Lloyds magic strengthens theirs, even someone as inexperienced as Jay.
He tries to help Kai when he’s at the library, but he doesn’t get payed or anything. He’s too young to work so he can’t get hired anyways. When he’s old enough he really wants to help Kai at the library.
When he first met Kai, it was before his magic fully developed, he was pulled to the library and decided to stick around. At first, him and Kai didn’t get along at all! Kai felt like he was babysitting cause Lloyd never went away and Lloyd kept coming ‘cause he kept getting pulled there. Soon the others started to show, when Lloyd’s magic finally surfaced.
He wants to help the others fight Ananthemas and join the revolution but the others won’t allow him to as he’s too young and inexperienced. Lloyd wants to help but is always told to stay back as they fight, with the more frequent attacks and Lloyd still looking for his father, Lloyd starts feeling pretty overwhelmed. Uh and plot happens
If you have any other questions or some things weren’t clear, you can ask, so far that’s all the important characters of the au, I might make something for Nya so if I do, I’d y’all have any questions for her you can ask lmao. She’s not magic tho. I’m still debating if Garmadon is going to appear in the story, we’ll see.

I'm The Right One For You
Tumblr media
Gif credit @spooky-cory.
Requested by @stellarosedutton. I hope you like it Thanks for the request.
"Rip, Rip, babe"? Snapping your fingers in front of Rips face. You were trying to talk to him about the kids but he seemed like he had something more interesting on his mind and in his sight.
"What"? Rip, huffed turning his head to look at you.
"Where are you right now? I'm talking about the kids and you're off in lala land".
"I have lots of shit on my mind. I cant be talking about the kids, right now". Rip grumbled and grabbed his beer off the table and walked out the door.
You chewed on the inside of your cheek as you watched the kids play with their uncles. You knew this job was hard on Rip but you thought it would be easier if you and the kids were there to help out.  But it just seemed to make things worse for Rip and you.
"You okay"? Lloyd came over and sat down in Rips spot.
"Yeah. I'm good".
"You know, ever since you and Rip got together. I could tell when you lie. It wasnt very often but when you did, you always said "I'm good". Not your normal bubbly self. So what's up"?
"I think, Beth Dutton has finally sunk her claws into Rip. She has been awfully flirty with him and he just shrugged it off at first but now I think they have something going on".
"Why do you think that"?
"He's distance. He never comes home at a descent hour nowadays. We havent had a conversation longer that "get to work". I'm starting to worry.  We havent had sex in months. We use to do it every night".
Lloyd couldnt hold in his laughter. "I'm very aware of that. We could hear you miles away. But dont think to much into it. He's just stressed and hes working to hard". Lloyd tried to reassure you but it didn't help.
"I know. But something is wrong and he wont talk to me". You sigh running your hand through your hair.
"You need some sleep. Why don't you take the kids and head to bed. We'll be quiet".
"Yeah. Thanks for the talk, Lloyd".
"Anytime, sugar". Lloyd sent you a wink as you grabbed up Carson, your 2 year old son and Neveah, your 3 year old daughter with Rip.
Carson was already asleep when you hit home, just a walk down the trial. Neveah was a little chatter box. Opening the door on the house, you got a not so suprising shock. Your suspicions were right. Quickly covering Neveahs eyes with your hand.
"You cheating fucking bastard". Your voice made Beth giggle and Rip freak when he saw you.
"Its not what it looks like". Rip tried to explain.
"Did you slip in shit and went dick first into Beth's pussy"? You asked sarcastically.
"Dont cuss in front of the kids".
"Oh so you can cheat on their mother in front of them. Because this right here will scar them for life before me saying dick and pussy will. You fucking asshole". You grabbed up Neveah and headed back to the bunkhouse.
You kicked the door open as Rip was behind you. Everyone got quiet as you came in.
"Did you all know"? You asked everyone staring at you.
"No". Lloyd looked at you then to Rip with a disappointing look.
"Can you watch them so I can cool off and figure out what to do? Because I'm not staying here". You handed Ryan Neveah and laid Carson down on the beside him.
"Yeah, no problem".
You started outside and grabbed a sledgehammer on your way out that leaned against the house.
"Y/N, what are you doing"? Kayce heard the ruckus and came running out of the main house. Rip didnt follow you. He was probably getting a ear full from Lloyd and the others. They seemed to care about you more than Rip did.
"Stay out of this Kayce". You growled, going up to Beth's car and smashing her back windshield.
"Oh fuck". Kayce exclaimed, his hands going to his hair.
You smashed in her side windows and then her windshield with ease. You were beyond pissed.
"No no no". Kayce went to waving his arms.
Then you went on to Rips truck, you climbed on to his hood and smashed his windshield.
"That's my truck". Kayce yelled his neck vein popping out as the moonlight hit him.
You looked in the truck, there wasn't two carseats for the kids. "Why didn't you tell me beforehand". You screamed back.
"What does no no no mean to you"? Kayce dramatically through up his arms.
"Sorry". You got down from the hood of the truck and walked over to Kayce, who was having a nervous breakdown over his windshield.
"Where's Rips truck"?
"At your house, I'm guessing. Damn it, Y/N. Why did you do that for"?
"I caught Beth fucking Rip in our house".
"Shit, I'm sorry. You can continue on her car if you want"? Kayce chuckled, he tried covering his crying as he went up to his truck. "I love this truck".
"I'll pay for the windshield. Well, Rip will".
"Yeah, okay". Kayce sniffled and turned around to you. "You wanna talk about it"?
"Nah. I'm okay. I saw it coming. It was just a matter of time. I just wish that Naveah hadn't seen it". You handed Kayce the sledgehammer.
"Oh no. I'm sorry. That sucks".
"Yeah, so I'm going to go get the kids and go home. Rip can fuck off. Sorry again about your windshield".
"You need help? Um carrying the kids"?
"Sure. Thanks". You slightly smiled and went to the bunkhouse. When you got in the kids were asleep. Rip was gone and the guys were quietly playing poker.
"Thanks for watching them. I appreciate it". You told Lloyd and the others as you scooped up Carson.
"Any time. We're sorry about you and Rip. We gave him a lashing.  He's sorry".
"Yeah, well. Fuck him. Thanks again".
Kayce and you started walking down to your house. The lights were out so you knew Rip wasnt home.
"You sure you want to stay here? You know, after what happened"? Kayce asked walking up the stairs, Naveahs arms wrapped around his neck.
"Shit. I didnt think of that. We'll just avoid the couch. Just put the kids in their beds". You chuckle as you opened the door. You averted your eyes and headed to Carsons room.  Laying him down gently and kissing his head, before stepping out. Kayce met you in the hall way.
"Before you go can you help me"?
"Sure. Anything".
"You want me to touch that"? Kayce gagged as you laughed. You wanted the couch out of the house.
"Just grab it and let's go".
"They were naked. Doing the nasty".
"I thought you were a country boy. Not afraid of anything. Not some wimp".
"You've seen Rip naked and shit. I havent. I dont want the mental picture and his DNA all over my hands".
"Quit whining. I didnt want to see your sister balls deep on my boyfriend but I did. You can handle a little Rip jizz". You say with a laugh as Kayce dropped his side on the ground quickly wiping his hands off on his jacket with a disgusting face.
"You alright there"?
"Peachy".
"You alright"? Kayce asked.
"Surprisingly well. I thought I couldn't live without Rip, but after catching him. I dont want anything to do with him. Every time I see his face my skin crawls". You say putting your end of the couch down and dusting off your hands.
"Want some coffee"? You asked Kayce.
"You want company"? He replied.
"Yeah, I wont be able to sleep so might as well stay up with you". You snicker as Kayce playfully nudged your arm.
"Gee, thanks. I'm so glad I can keep you company".
"Um, when did you know Beth was after Rip"? Kayce questioned when you set his cup down in front of him.
"Months ago. When we all went to the rodeo. I took the kids to the bathroom and when I came back she had her head and arm laying on him. He just shrugged her off when he saw me. So I knew something would happen or had already happened". You gulped down the steaming hot coffee in your mouth.
"I'm sorry. I know it's not my place to say it but you're better without him".
"What you mean"?
"I mean no disrespect but what does he exactly do for you and the kids? He's hardly ever home. I've never seen him take the kids riding or even play with them. The horse hands do more than he has since you been here. I just dont know what you saw in him". Kayce felt he was treading on thin ice when he said that.
"When I met him, he was drunk. He's funny when he's drunk. We started dating, had Neveah then Carson and everything after changed when we moved in with him. Like we're stepping on his toes or something. Now he doesn't talk to me. So I guess what I saw in him.... I'm not sure anymore".
"You're a single mom basically. Now you're a single woman. What are your plans"?
"I dont know. I guess I can move back to my old house. It hasn't sold yet. Put the kids in daycare and still work here. But then Rip wouldnt want that and I dont want to see Beth all over him. So I'll have to get another job".
"You're really going to leave"? Kayce acted crushed.
"There's nothing here for me".
"I'm here. The guys are here". Kayce licked his lips as he looked at your lips.
"They dont want a mother with two kids here, weighing them down. Especially you, you dont need that".
"What if I want that"? Kayce looked into your eyes.
"Kayce, stop".
"What? I know you feel this connection between us. It's been there". Kayce stepped closer to you. His hand reached for yours on the counter top.
"I just broke up with Rip. You really decided that this was the perfect time to confess your love for me". You nervous chuckle.
"There isn't a better time then now. I want you. I may not be the man Rip is but I'll take care of you and the kids. I'll treat them as my own. You can move in with me and smother me with your toys and love". Kayce grinned.
"They do have lots of toys". You say looking around the house.
"What about Rip and Beth"?
"They have each other. Why cant we be happy together"?
"I dont know, Kayce".
"We'll take it slow. How about this Saturday, we go on a date. The guys can watch the kids and we'll get to know each other. I'm funny without being drunk,  I have other great things about me. Plus I'm cute and you can't say no to this face". Kayce pointed to his face with a smirk.
"Okay. I'll go on a date with you. I don't want to hurt the kids if they get attached and we dont make it".
"I understand. But I have a feeling we're going to make it. I even see a little Dutton in our future". Kayce pulled you close, wrapping his arms around your waist.
"Is this you being funny or have you lost your mind"? You laugh, putting your hands on his chest.
"I'm just sure that we'll be together. We're going to have a great future together". Kayce leans in and captures your lips with his.
This all took you by surprise. You didnt know Kayce felt this way about you. But deep down you felt in your heart that this all happened for a reason and Kayce was meant for you. You just took a detour, a bumpy road and went off a cliff but was rescued by a cowboy named Kayce Dutton imagine that.

Just A Small Glitch In His Code chapter 10 is up!!!!! Chapter 1 is here, and chapter 10 is also readable below
She didn’t want to admit to them that she was absolutely seething, the sort of anger that lost all sense of direction and could consume anyone in the general vicinity within its fiery rage if not dealt with. She guessed she may have accidentally implied it to them anyway though. I mean it was true, she was, at Wu, for whatever the first spinjitzu master *that* was. Not that she’d listened to most of it but it was definitely uncalled for. And at Lloyd, for giving up on Zane so easily, at Zane, for hiding all this from everyone, and well, she was mad at herself, she supposed.
It wasn’t like she blamed any of them entirely, she knew they all were dealing with their own things. So, she decided it was better to go and be on her own rather than just make herself more annoyed, more productive of her to get in touch with Kai, and maybe even give a quick warning of the situation to Cole, though he was already returning from Shintaro in a short few days.
She sat cross-legged on the cold wooden steps of the monastery courtyard, her head leant against one of it’s pillars. It was especially cold this time of year, and a gust of wind rustled through her wiry hair, reminding her fondly and all too horribly of how she and Zane joked about someday engineering hairpieces for themselves that worked like wind-chimes. The glimpse of sky she could see beyond the monastery walls had a hint of red, it must have been a lovely sunset, and she must’ve missed most of it with everything going on.
Everything that just happened, it all felt so rushed. She hadn’t had time to think too much about anything, right from knocking Zane out to trying to have a civil conversation with the Overlord. She supposed she’d have to rushedly send those messages to Kai and Cole too now.
She halfheartedly went to get her phone out of her pocket, paused, and sighed. She couldn’t quite get why, but she just really didn’t feel like it; what would she even say? She found herself instead contemplating whether it was worth the energy to climb up onto the roof of the monastery or step outside its doors onto the winding stairs that twist all the way down the mountain, see if there was anything left of that sunset. If only just to be just a little further away from everything that had just happened.
Usually she would have decided not to, a voice in her mind would have screamed otherwise. She had learnt from the others that distancing themselves over grief for Nya had split up the group, they were no longer as close in every sense of the word, when it could just as easily have brought them all together. She needed to text the others, and she knew that.
But, she supposed that if she didn’t know what to say and didn’t know how they’d help, it could wait a short while. So, she got up and prepared to scale the monastery walls.
”Uh, Pix?” Lloyd stared at her confusedly from the doorway.
“Oh, hey” she replied, jumping down from her position about a quarter of the way up the wall as though it was a regular thing to be doing.
“Okay, not even gonna ask about that-” he gestured to the wall she had just been climbing “Anyway, do you wanna go inside to send the messages? Its freezing out here.” His arms were crossed as though shivering.
“Good point. I’d say we should send it from the base itself because of the internet connection being second-to-none, but,” she paused “I don’t know about you but I don’t know whether I want to go back down there today.”
“True, let’s just go into the living room.”
They sat on the couch, the LEDs in Pixal’s eyes along with the ‘game over’ prime empire screen on the tv and Lloyd’s phone with the ‘new message’ tab open on the table in front of them were now the only light sources in the room.
“So….what do we say?” Lloyd asked
“Hey guys! I know you’re going batshit with grief over Nya but Zane got corrupted by the Overlord, and he’s basically in a coma, and the virus is corrupting Pixal too now, so, how’ve you been?” She replied, a more sarcastic and panicked reply than her usual self.
“It’s usually Jay who does that” Lloyd replied with a small laugh, “I suppose its the best idea we’ve got though.”
“Yeah..” she responded halfheartedly, and they sat in silence for a moment, both clearly trying to think of a better idea, and not coming up with much.
“Should I make us some cocoa, or something? She did a slight smile at Lloyd.
“That’d be great, thanks.” He replied, and she stood up and began to walk to the kitchen.
“Wait Pix- first, I’ve gotta say it,” he began, and turned his head to face her behind the couch. “I’m sorry you had to hear all that stuff from Wu. You know it as well as I do that it’s not your fault, I think he does sort of know that too, maybe, he’s just not been thinking too clearly in recent years y’know. Don’t take it to heart, alright?”
“Thanks Lloyd, and don’t worry” she responded with a convincing smile. “You want marshmallows in your cocoa?”
“Is that even a question?” He replied, returning the smile.

golden power; never wielded
my first work for @ninjago-angst-week! prompt - abandoned (16/08) Lloyd's never known what it's like to share his heart with another, linking two lives together as if one had found the melody to their chorus, now a song in perfect harmony. If he’d always felt like he was invisible; wondered if there was something fundamentally wrong with his inability to touch others’ hearts, then, well, that was no one’s business but his own. Of course, that was before he quite literally fell for someone - the first person, actually - who seemed to care. Of course she was too good to be true. Or, the S8 angst I've been wanting to write about 'game of masks' and the aftermath. trigger warnings - suicidal thoughts, brief mention of implied self-harm, not really a warning but it talks a lot about loneliness. "How did you know?"
"It's an Oni Temple. It's safe to assume that only an Oni could take it."
"No. How could you know that I was part Oni?"
How could you know that I was part Oni?
The question repeated itself in his mind, echoing into the blizzard.
Sometimes, he wondered what would've gone down at the temple if he hadn't been so observant.
Well, he thought bitterly, probably not the temple itself.
The walls collapsing, he'd caught a glimpse of his terrified face as the room filled with swirling inky blackness, freezing him to the bone.
But the real pain came from her words.
Ah. Your emotions. You can't get rid of them, can you?
No, he'd wanted to yell, staring listlessly at the shaking grey semblance of sky.
He'd always felt like he wielded the element of light; invisible, trapped behind a barrier that no one cared enough to break. Isolated; locked away from the world. Longing for - yearning for - a single soul to want to know his heart. Pain that almost felt tangible, bleeding into every motion, every day.
Everyone else seemed to find it so easy - so effortless - simple as breathing, taken for granted like it was ingrained into their bones. Everyone else seemed to have given away a little piece of their heart - to their parents, friends, or lovers.
The fact that his was, and had always been, entirely whole?
He was either cursed, the venom from the Great Devourer passed down to him, or there was something fundamentally unlikable coursing through his veins.
By this point, he assumed it was the latter.
Maybe, if anyone had ever cared - wanted to know him - he'd never have felt like it was pressing down on his chest like a casket; a useless block of ice that no one wanted, not even the unfortunate owner it'd been given.
If no one would know his heart, he'd thought, grabbing a forgotten map, he'd strike fear into theirs - until they knew what it was like to sob into invisible barriers, to gaze upon the world with a weary eyes and a heart heavy with the knowledge that if they vanished, no one would even notice.
He'd realized far too late that he had unleashed an evil that couldn't be controlled - or one that could only be controlled by his- by someone else that had sunk beneath the darkness until no light remained-
He'd escaped from the crumbling casket, energy and eyes blazing - only to find that Har- she'd already escaped with the mask.
The Oni Mask of Hatred.
As they had steered the boat through the river, her sweet smile hiding lie upon lie, he'd thought it was somewhat ironic - two lovers, seeking a literal manifestation of hatred.
He'd laughed bitterly; no mirth in the sound.
After his first crush had - well, literally tried to crush him, he didn't think that this day could get much worse.
Until she dropped him into a contraption that was the stuff of nightmares - leaving the others with a seemingly impossible choice.
He'd wanted to yell, scream, that they should save his mother - he'd hurt enough people over the course of his short life, as evidenced by the grief-stricken orphan yelling a foreign language right in front of him.
I'm the expendable one! Maybe she was right - it was my fault the Serpentine were able to release the Great Devourer. And it took thousands of lives - but never the life of the one who was to blame.
He'd grabbed the vengestone bars, the faint sense of numbness they brought a welcoming relief from the storm of emotions that- he honestly had no clue what to do with.
i could drown, he had thought briefly, fleetingly. what if i drowned and i never hurt anyone again-
you have  a responsibility, even though you've pretty much failed to uphold it so far
"Clotho venge! Clotho decer! Clotho haeed!"
Shoving the thought to the back of his mind, he'd gripped the bars tighter, ignoring the sting of the metal against skin.
If anything, he'd welcomed the sting.
Any pain was better than the agonizing reminder that his heart was, and had always been, entirely whole.
He didn't even realize he was trembling until he heard his father's voice echoing from the vortex.
His father hadn't asked to be bitten by an evil snake, the venom coursing through his veins for years upon years. He hadn't asked to be dumped at a boarding school for bad kids, spending what he had left of his childhood hiding in empty classrooms or yelling empty threats as his classmates snickered.
Against all odds, they'd been reunited. Evil snakes, Fangblades, even Jade Blades - none of it had stood between them.
Just when he thought they might have a future - he might have a- a family - the Cursed Realm decided to curse them all.
His father with imprisonment, him with a life devoid of a father he'd loved, at the end.
Now H- she wanted to resurrect him?
His father had been so much more than the Oni blood in his veins. So was he.
But if he was completely Oni-
Lloyd didn't like their odds. He kind of hated them.
"Clotho venge! Clotho decer! Clotho haeed!"
---
A few chaotic hours later... they'd won? They'd won.
The Sons of Garmadon (he'd always thought the name was kind of ironic - he, the only son of Garmadon, wasn't in their crazy biker gang) had been imprisoned by courageous, if a bit overzealous, taser-wielding policeman.
Ninjago was celebrating - everyone was; he should be, too.
Should he really revel in their victory, though? It was his fault that she'd been able to snatch the last mask, all the safeguards the Oni had put in place practically worthless because of his stupid feelings-
H- Harumi had been thrown in one of the police vans.
"You're right - this isn't me," she'd started, her meekness almost convincing him that she really was the girl he'd fallen for - the girl who'd been forced into a mask she never wanted to wear, but someone who still cared about the world... and- and about him.
"Stop."
He'd cut her off, the venom in his tone surprising both of them.
"Save it for someone who cares," he'd forced out, the hurt welling up his chest almost as painful as their unceremonious descent into the jungle, (the descent she'd orchestrated, he'd thought fleetingly, squeezing his eyes together) unable to believe that this- this liar was the same sweet girl he'd fallen for.
With that, he slammed the door of the van, locking her in - wishing that locking his memories away could be easy.
She'd never cared about him; simply needing to use him as if he was nothing more than the power he wielded.
He watched one of the policemen drive her away, the tired-but-enthusiastic cheers of his teammates nothing more than background noise; static.
Vaguely, he realized that his heart wasn't quite whole - he'd given a piece of it to someone whom he had thought would link theirs together in harmony, the melody to his chorus; what he'd been searching for ever since he'd woken up screaming in a 'boarding school' that seemed more like a prison.
She'd taken more than what he'd given - draining the light from his entire being as if she was the Overlord, stealing his golden power without a shred of remorse.
That failure was practically painless, compared to her-
An almost unfamiliar emotion slowly stated to replace the ache in his chest that he'd grown used to for all those years; it'd become comforting, even. Watching the world go by with a heart that seemed more like a curse, he briefly, fleetingly, wondered if he'd be better off without one.
If there was ever a problem that presented itself to Nya while she worked on the Bounty, she used to joke that it'd be easier to just dump their entire hard dive into the sea.
Destruction seemed to be easier than fixing, he conceded - the van now just a glimmer of bright light; one of the many that made up their vibrant city.
"How did you know?" he heard, yet again wondering how he felt so disconnected from his own role in the memory.
How had she known?
The whisper of a voice long gone bled into his consciousness, his hands shaking at his sides even as the city celebrated.
Why had he even asked that?
Plastering a smile on his face as he walked over to his teammates, the question repeating itself in his mind, echoing into the blizzard.
FSM - she didn't need to be leader of a biker gang to know that.
Who could ever give their heart - the epitome of human connection; golden power all on its own, albeit of a different kind - to an Oni?
Maybe he wasn't the one trapped behind an invisible wall, built on tears and loneliness and yearning and heartache and a lone question - why? Why could no one seem to look past the cage he felt himself trapped in, observing the world rather than playing a part in it.
He hadn't been a- abandoned by everyone, he realized, a weary sense of clarity and shadowed eyes not sure to accept it or push it into the back of his mind like the hours he'd spent there, as if he'd ever want to have hurt his teammates like he did, the twisted ghost-
He trailed behind his teammates as they sang - horribly off key, his mind pointed out, forcing a small smile onto his face - lost in the figurative blizzard, despite the fact that the sun's rays had only vanished a few hours ago.
If no one would know his heart?
FSM - could he really blame them?
(if you read this far, thank you so much, you’ve made my day:D)

This request is the result of a very awake mind at 2 am. How about a part crack, part tooth-rotting fluff fic about and interview with characters of your choice.
I tried my best with this... it's difficult to do crack in such a short piece (hence this one ended up being a little longer) and although I think writing crack is really fun, I have no experience in the field XD. So... hope this is what you were looking for XD.
The Case of the Forgotten Birthday Gift
Summary: When the ninja are invited to the Ivory City of Shintaro for Princess Vania’s birthday, they find themselves in the most devastating predicament of all- they forgot to bring a birthday gift for Vania. In a panic, Cole offers her a chance to interview them as compensation. Not everyone is thrilled about the idea.
“We thank you for attending Princess Vania’s birthday,” King Vangelis said, hovering before the ninja with two winged guardsmen at his sides. “We ask that you leave any gifts on this table.” He gestured towards a table that was practically groaning under the weight of all the presents atop it.
“Um.” Cole blanched. “Gift?”
“Cole!” Jay whispered harshly in his ear. “Don’t tell me. That you didn’t bring a present for the princess. On her birthday.”
“I didn’t bring one? Last time I checked, we were all invited! Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Well, I didn’t, so you better come up with something now or they’ll never invite us back here again!”
“Uh…” Cole’s brain felt like it was whirring a mile a minute, and he reluctantly turned back to the king. “Thank you, your majesty, but our gift to the princess is not something material.”
King Vangelis raised an eyebrow. “No?”
“No, it’s a… it’s um… we’re giving you a free interview.”
“What?!” the other ninja all yelped, at the same time that Vania beamed, clapping her hands together.
“I get to interview the ninja? The ninja? Truly, this is the best birthday present ever!”
“Cole,” Kai groaned, putting his head in his hands, “what have you done?”
---
“When I told you to come up with something to give the princess, this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind,” Jay grumbled from where he was sitting stiffly in a chair next to Cole. “Did you really have to offer the girl who’s obviously a bit bonkers about us an interview?”
“I didn’t see you coming up with anything better,” Cole snapped. “Besides, she may be a bit obsessed, but she seems nice enough. Just go along with it. She’s like any other fan.”
“Any other fan, you say? I wouldn’t be so sure!”
Cole sighed, glancing back at where Lloyd was standing atop his chair, glaring down at them. “Lloyd, sit down.”
“She’s no normal fan, I’m telling you! I don’t trust her! She was too excited about this interview! She’s out to get us, she just wants to trick us into giving away information so she can exploit our weaknesses!”
Kai glanced back and forth between Lloyd and Cole. “Seriously, does no one else see what an obvious cry for therapy this is?”
“Lloyd!” Cole hissed. “For the last time! Sit. Down.”
“Don’t worry, Lloyd,” Zane said as the teen plopped down grumpily in his seat. “The odds of our team member’s princess girlfriend turning out to be the leader of a criminal gang for the second time in our lives are practically nonexistent! Under seventy percent, at least.”
“She’s not my girlfriend!” Cole snapped.
Zane blinked. “Well, then whose is she?”
“Not mine,” Jay told them, grabbing Nya’s hand. “I’m already engaged!”
Kai laughed. “No thanks, she’s not my type. Plus, I already have a girlfriend who stabbed me in the back, although luckily for me, mine came around, eventually.”
“For the last time, Vania is not going to betray us!”
“It’s not our fault we have trust issues,” Lloyd sniffed. “You’d think someone would book us therapy, but apparently that’s not a priority.”
“Well, if she herself isn’t evil, maybe she’s related to someone evil!” Kai said. “Skylor’s evil, psychotic father influenced her to turn on me. Do you think Vania has an evil, psychotic father?”
“Definitely,” Lloyd agreed, at the same time Nya said “No way.”
Nya shook her head. “Do you know how ridiculous you guys sound? How many evil, psychotic fathers can there be out there?”
“Um. There’s Chen, Milton Dyer, Skales, my father- need I go on?”
“Don’t forget Nadakhan’s evil djinn father!” Jay chimed. Lloyd blinked at him. “Who?”
“See? That’s barely any!” Nya exclaimed. “Besides, like half of those people are good now, so they don’t count.”
“But they were, which means there’s a high chance of King Vangelis being evil and psychotic-”
“Who’s evil and psychotic?” A cheery voice interrupted them as Princess Vania pushed open the doors.
“Oh, uh… just an old villain we faced,” Cole covered quickly.
“Oh, you must tell me all about them!” Vania smiled, pushing the doors closed behind her and clicking the lock.
Kai blinked. “Did you just lock us in?”
“Of course! I can’t have anyone else breaking in here and trying to eavesdrop on my very special interview!”
“Do people break into your room often?” Nya laughed.
“Not at all! Only a few times a week.”
“Um… you do realize that we’re crime-fighting ninja, right?” Jay told her. “We have lots of enemies. Maybe you should have some people guarding us while we’re here.”
“Oh, don’t worry! If anyone attacks you, Chompy will scare them off!” The ninja looked to where she was pointing to see a tiny dragon snoozing on Vania’s bed.
“Oh, how reassuring,” Kai said dryly. “The overgrown gecko can keep us safe.”
Vania raised an eyebrow. “You’re lucky he’s asleep. Mr. Chompy does not play nice when he’s angry.”
“Oh yeah, I’m so scared,” Kai grinned, leaning back.
Vania narrowed her eyes at him. “He killed a dire bat once.”
“Yeah, well, we fought off an entire flock of them from our ship.”
“First of all, it’s called a colony of bats, not a flock. Second, I know that a squadron of our guards had to go save you.”
“We didn’t need saving! They interrupted us just as I was about to use my mighty fire powers to burn them to a crisp!” “Chompy would knock them out of the sky before you could do that.”
“Yeah, well, I could squish Chompy under my foot.”
“Chompy could gouge out your eyes.”
“Oookay, as fun as this is,” Cole interrupted, pushing them apart, “Let’s just get this interview over with. Vania, what questions did you want to ask us?”
“Hold on.” Vania jogged over to the wall and pulled over a small table, setting up a camera on top of it.
Jay stared at it. “What is that.”
“I need to record this, silly!”
“What’s the point of locking us in here and not letting anyone else listen in if you’re just going to broadcast this whole thing to everyone, anyway?” Nya asked.
“Because seeing it live isn’t half as fun as watching a recording!”
“Then why record it at all?”
“How else am I going to rub it in all my friends’ faces that I met the ninja?”
“This is a non-consensual violation of my privacy,” Jay grumbled.
“Oh please, your face is over half the city,” Cole sighed.
“Welcome back to Truthful Tidbits! I’m your host, Vania, and I’m here with an exclusive episode today- with me, I have the famous ninja!” “What,” Lloyd said slowly, “are you doing?”
“It’s for my TV show,” Vania whispered.
“You have a TV show?” Nya spluttered.
“Wait, no one told me this was going to be on TV!” Kai yelped. “The camera’s not getting my good side!”
“Wait, if this is a TV show, shouldn’t we have makeup artists or something?”
“Jay’s right!” Kai agreed. “I can’t go on television without a makeover!”
“My database shows no recollection of the show ‘Truthful Tidbits.’”
“It’s not on mainstream television,” Vania grumbled. “I just show them to my videography class.”
“Oh.” Jay relaxed in his chair. “That’s it?”
“What do you mean, that’s it? People are still going to see me without makeup! Just because it’s a small group doesn’t make this any less of a disaster!”
“I’m hoping to change that,” Vania beamed. “This is the big break I need! An interview with the ninja? Everyone will want to see it!”
“Andddd we’re back to privacy invasion again,” Jay groaned.
“Wanna bounce, Jay?” Lloyd asked.
“Do I ever-”
“Count me in, guys, I’m not doing this without a proper makeup job-”
“If you guys are all leaving, I’m not going to stay!” Nya insisted. “Zane?”
“It seems futile to stay if you all are leaving.” “You can’t leave!” Vania cried. “This is my present! Besides, you’re locked in here!”
Lloyd stared her dead in the eyes. “I will literally jump out the window to get out of this.”
“Are you kidding me? You’ll die!”
“Then tell Chumpy to catch me,” he told her, already climbing into the window.
“It’s Chompy!”
“Oh no, you don’t.” Kai reached out a hand, snatching the back of Lloyd’s gi before he could jump. “I don’t want to spend the rest of our stay in a hospital. What did you think was going to happen, you were going to sprout wings?”
“I’m part dragon,” Lloyd grumbled. “It’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility.”
“I have a much less life-threatening way. Stand back.” Kai’s fist lit up in flames.
“I swear, Kai, if you burn down anything, we are never coming back here,” Cole warned.
“A little arson never hurt anyone.” Hurtling a fireball at the door, it burst into flames. Quickly, it burned a human-sized hole in the door, and Kai, Jay, and Lloyd quickly darted through.
“What about my interview?” Vania protested. “You promised!”
“Technically, Cole was the one who promised you the interview,” Zane pointed out. “He never specified which of us you would be interviewing.”
“And since Cole’s staying, we’re technically not breaking that promise!” Nya added.
Cole blinked. “I’m what?”
“Staying. Have fun, you two!” Nya waved, and the two of them shot out the door, spraying ice and water as they passed to extinguish the flames.
“Sorry about that, princess,” Cole said, scratching the back of his neck.
Vania narrowed her eyes. “This better be the best interview ever.”
Cole grinned. “Mark my words, it will be. Fire away.”
“Speaking of fire, you’re paying for my door.”
“... Yeah, I figured.”
