Complete Dead Apple Explanation
Or: “The Ultimate Guide to Dead Apple”.
Warning: this is a long post! I’m not kidding, I worked on this for three months. There is a TL;DR at the end but it will only briefly cover the most important points.
I see posts about Dead Apple not being understood far too often and so I’m introducing: this explanation! I do want to preface this by saying that I can completely understand that this movie can be confusing. Or, as Fyodor said it:
Tumblr media
But, as someone who has seen it many times, I’m here to shed some light on it! Hopefully after this post it’ll all make a bit more sense, and you’ll at least have different questions.
If you haven’t watched the movie yet and are wondering when to watch it, the story officially takes place between season two and three, though you’ll be able to watch season three with no issues if you haven’t watched the movie. Please do note that this post will contain light spoilers for the plot after season two, so don’t read it if you haven’t at least finished catching up to the anime.
I’ll try not to summarize the movie, but instead explain it. That means that this post does not replace the movie, but instead tries to elaborate upon it and tries to place it in the larger plot. Most of the early movie is therefore ignored, but please do not hesitate to ask if you have extra questions, comments, different interpretations or you want me to go into more detail about something. I may not know everything, but I’m always down to talk about this movie!
Alright, with all of that out of the way…
The Dragon Head Conflict
We’ll start at the beginning, which is to say, we’ll start at the prologue, which can be found as a permanent event in Mayoi (and also as a part of the Dead Apple manga). This is not technically needed to understand most of the movie, but it does give some context that will make it a little easier, since this is where it all starts.
The Dragon Head Conflict, sometimes also translated as the Ryuuzu Conflict, is (as the movie states) the largest conflict in the history of Yokohama’s underworld. It took place six years ago, and originally was about five hundred billion yen an ability user left behind after they died, which various organizations were very interested in. It lasted for a total of 88 days, and involved conflict between eight different underworld organizations, including among others the Port Mafia, Gelhart Security Service/GSS (from Fifteen) and Takasekai (also from Fifteen).
Now as you can imagine, the government isn’t super stoked that gangs are shooting each other up all night and leaving corpses everywhere, to the point where the sidewalk is torn up from the bullet holes. To try to combat this, they thought that they could best fight fire with fire, and let a strong ability user from outside Yokohama settle this conflict all at once.
This new ability user, known as the “White Qilin”, unfortunately doesn’t really care about ending the conflict and kills other strong ability users left and right just for the fun of it, contrary to what the government had hoped he would do. Whether they are uninvolved parties or Port Mafia executives, it doesn’t matter to this guy. The White Qilin also ends up taking the money the conflict was originally about, but that doesn’t stop his murder spree. In this way, the White Qilin gains control over the entire conflict pretty fast, making him the main target to eliminate in order to put a stop to the killings.
Dazai approaches this problem similarly as to how he did during the conflict of Stormbringer, with a group of ability users to overpower the lone individual, but gets his plan twisted on him and gets kidnapped instead. Naturally, he predicted this outcome, leaving a hint for Chuuya where he left a transmitter for a tracking device so that Chuuya could come rescue him.
This is then the first scene of the movie, where Dazai and Chuuya confront and defeat the White Qilin using Corruption, and the whole Dragon Head Conflict ends since the White Qilin is finally gone and all the money burned. This battle is so iconic in the underground circles that it gains them the name “Double Black”, or “Soukoku”.
A few small notes on the Dragon Head Conflict before we move on.
As can also be seen in the first scene of the movie, this is where Oda adopts all five of those kids you see during the Dark Age, which was also already stated in the Dark Age itself.
“I heard all about it, Odasaku. You’re raising five kids, huh? And not only that, they’re orphans from the Dragon’s Head Conflict.” ―Dazai, Dark Age
Also, ever wondered why the Port Mafia is the only major criminal organization in Yokohama? There actually used to be five in total but four of them completely perished during the Dragon Head Conflict. Another reason why Dazai & Chuuya ending the conflict is so impressive, since because of that the Port Mafia is the only one to even survive it at all.
Shibusawho?
As you’ve probably guessed by now, the “White Qilin”, also named “the Collector” in Dead Apple itself, are both different names for our main antagonist: Shibusawa Tatsuhiko. The government had good reason to believe Shibusawa would be able to stand against the entire Yokohama underground and come out on top: his ability.
Shibusawa’s ability, Draconia, creates a fog around him, which separates other ability users from their own ability and makes non-ability users disappear as long as the fog persists. When surrounded by this fog, ability users are confronted with this version of their ability that is split from themselves. If an ability user is to die within this fog, their ability will be added to Draconia’s collection room.
There is decent evidence that it takes a while before the fog activates, so the effect isn’t immediate. This can be seen with Chuuya, who makes very short contact with the fog before he lifts up the building that he shoves in the Dragon’s mouth, but it’s seen even more clearly with Atsushi and Kyouka at the start of the movie. They spend a small while running around Yokohama wondering why everyone is gone before they’re finally confronted with their abilities.
To some extent the separated abilities represent the inner conflict in an ability user. This can of course be clearly found in Atsushi and his shaky connection to the tiger, or in Kyouka who has Demon Snow which is the last remnant of her parents but also murdered them in front of her. But the clearest example of this in the movie is actually Kunikida, since there is a visible change between him and his ability.
Tumblr media
The notebook of Kunikida’s ability does not read its usual “理想” (ideals), but instead now says “妥協” (compromise). For Kunikida, a person so tied to his ideals, this version of his ability is an “abomination” (his words, not mine), and thus a source of inner conflict, since it represents a side of Kunikida that he carries within him.
“A copy of himself that didn’t follow ideals but made compromises was an abomination to Kunikida.”―Dead Apple (light novel)
If ability users manage to defeat their abilities in a physical fight, and then also accept these parts of themselves for what they represent, they will regain their ability. For example, Atsushi does not immediately regain his ability after defeating the tiger because he does not completely accept that the tiger represents that he has killed a person. For Atsushi, a person who connects his entire reason of living to saving other people, this is nearly irreconcilable. The only reason he probably is able to get over it in the end is that the person he killed was actively torturing and trying to kill him, so Atsushi had to kill to survive.
Shibusawa, then, is dead. Chronologically, his murder is the earliest you see of him. Fyodor has told Shibusawa that Atsushi contains something that “guides the envy of all ability users”, so Shibusawa, who feels like he is missing something, seeks to take this by any means. This doesn’t work out too hot for him, and Atsushi kills him.
Now a fun thing happens. Since Shibusawa is the center of the fog at all times, so to speak, and he’s the keeper of the abilities that die in his fog, his ability is separated from himself and lives on, nearly indistinguishable from his original body. Only one downside to this: he completely loses his memories.
I can only assume the government steps in at this point to take this strong ability user in his vulnerable state, and then have him solve the Dragon Head Conflict not long after. He most likely also survived Chuuya’s Corruption by being an ability, and having ability crystals in his collection to fall back on and recover, as he also does in Dead Apple. However, all of that is just pure speculation.
After the Dragon Head Conflict, Shibusawa spends some years abroad, casually killing thousands of ability users for the same reason as during the Dragon Head Conflict: just playing around and trying to fill that hole of something that is missing inside of him. The Japanese government mostly does a spectacular and spectacularly unethical job of cleaning up after him, since they learned nothing from the Dragon Head Conflict and still think that they can control him to protect Japan should it ever be invaded by foreign ability users.
Eventually, when the timing is right, Shibusawa gets invited back to Japan by Dazai. At the same time he is told by Fyodor (can you see the manipulation happening on both sides?) that Dazai’s ability is the ultimate ability that will finally complete him, and so Shibusawa eagerly comes to Yokohama.
From here on out, as far as Shibusawa is concerned, it’s just a matter of covering the entire city in fog, killing Dazai and then taking his ability. Since Dazai cancels the fog itself with his ability, Shibusawa does need to kill him first, since the fog will work just fine on a corpse. Unfortunately, Shibusawa, however smart he is, is not in control of the plot in this movie. That control is left entirely to the combination of Dazai and Fyodor.
Intermezzo: Singularity Crash Course
Let’s do a lightning quick crash course on singularities before continuing, because you’re going to need that to understand what is happening in the next part. While Stormbringer was released after Dead Apple, I’m still going to be leaning heavily on and paraphrasing the information provided in that novel since it gives a really nice overview.
Abilities are bound to rules, just like everything else. No organisms other than humans, such as plants or monkeys, can possess an ability. Each human can only have a single ability, and when they die the ability disappears with them. Finally, there is a limit to the strength of any such ability.
But what if you wanted to go beyond that limit? What if you wanted to play with the natural laws of this world? What if you wanted to get really silly with it? Well, in that case, you can try your best at creating a singularity.
Singularities are defined as “the interaction of multiple abilities that develops into a higher-level phenomenon different from the original abilities”. This mostly exhibits itself in a massive release of energy, but rarely there are semi-stable versions of them. Singularities aren’t bound to conventional rules, and can be much more powerful for that exact reason.
As for creating singularities, there are two defined ways. The most reliable method is to have two contradicting abilities clash with each other. This leads to fun mental exercises, think “unstoppable force meets immovable object”, or, two ability users who can both see a few seconds into the future fighting to the death (sound familiar?). As a second method, an ability can also contradict itself, essentially causing the same result, but it’s a lot more finicky.
“Dead Apple”
The latter part of the movie revolves around exactly the creation of such a singularity, as all planned out by Fyodor, and accurately anticipated by Dazai. Let’s lay out all the layers of this.
Shibusawa is after Dazai’s ability. Meanwhile, Dazai is trying to stop the fog to save Yokohama. As for Fyodor, we’ll get to him in a second.
Dazai “teams up” with Fyodor and betrays Shibusawa to put a stop to the fog. The idea of this is that Fyodor combines two abilities from Shibusawa’s collection, which Dazai can’t do himself without canceling them: the ability to pull abilities in a surrounding area close, and the ability to merge abilities together. When these two are merged, together they create an ability that will absorb Shibusawa’s entire collection, and then Dazai only has to touch this ability to effectively get rid of Shibusawa’s power source.
Tumblr media
There is a specific reason why it has to happen like this, and Dazai just touching Shibusawa isn’t quite enough. Let’s mentally walk through the process if Dazai were to touch Shibusawa. The fog disappears for a bit (and Shibusawa with it, most likely), but Shibusawa now knows Dazai’s intentions. Fyodor will take Shibusawa’s side and now Dazai is at a large disadvantage. Ultimately, it doesn’t even solve the problem. We know from the Dragon Head Conflict that just destroying Shibusawa’s body is most likely not enough, and he will be able to resummon the fog (and his body) with time and energy. The problem needs to be cut off at the root, the ability crystals.
Unfortunately, Fyodor didn’t really team up with Dazai, instead choosing to team up with Shibusawa in order to get rid of Dazai. This is then where Shibusawa gets to kill Dazai, and discovers that wait, Dazai’s ability may not be what he’s seeking after all. However, the abilities are already merged, and Dazai’s ability joins them. This combines “the ability to merge” with “the ability to nullify”, which don’t exactly mix well. Does Dazai’s ability become part of the other ability? Does his ability nullify the merging ability before that can happen? It’s already part of it, but at the same time the merging can never happen. It’s contradictory, and thus a singularity is born.
Fyodor, meanwhile, hasn’t quite had his fill of betrayal yet, and decides to remind Shibusawa of what he is by killing him, reminding Shibusawa of his earlier death by Atsushi’s paw. All of this, killing Dazai and using his ability to create a singularity, having that power from the singularity then go into Shibusawa to create the Dragon, all of that was part of Fyodor’s plan. Shibusawa is only able to cover an entire city with fog because of the large amount of ability crystals he has collected, and so with enough power (like from a singularity) he can cover the entire world in this fog. Up until this point, neither Fyodor nor Shibusawa have seen a single ability user survive the fog, and thus it is the perfect method for getting rid of all ability users in the world, which does seem to be Fyodor’s end goal.
However, Chuuya swoops in and defeats the Dragon. Dazai was well prepared and had the antidote to the poison he was killed with hidden in his mouth, so he is alive and well again. That means that Dazai has his ability back and it cancels out the singularity space they both are in. It doesn’t completely get rid of the Dragon however, as some energy still lingers around the tower.
Fyodor is still on the scene, and uses a part of the merging crystal that he saved which was used earlier to create the singularity to merge Shibusawa with the singularity, giving Shibusawa a very anime transformation into his final form.
Tumblr media
At this point, as a result of Shibusawa’s transformation, the fog turns red. If this red fog then covers the entire planet as Fyodor is hoping, and you were to watch it from space, it would look just like a poisonous red apple. The name of the movie therefore refers to this plan of using Shibusawa to rid the world of ability users.
This idea of poisonous apples in this movie comes from two different sources. From Fyodor’s side, it is referring to the apple Eve ate in the Bible, the original sin. For Fyodor, there is poetic irony in this: the world will end with the same sin as it began with. The crime is the punishment. On Dazai’s side, it refers to Snow White, who bit the poison apple and died (temporarily). He already talks about this to Oda when he is sixteen, vaguely implying he knew all of this was coming as soon as he met Shibusawa during the Dragon Head Conflict. Since Fyodor was already around at that time and also had a hand in enabling Shibusawa originally, this may indeed be planned out this far in advance, but it’s always hard to tell with these guys.
Then the kids take over the fight for the rest of the movie, and Atsushi, Akutagawa and Kyouka work together to defeat Shibusawa’s final form in the form of a long, epic final fight. Shibusawa is finally defeated and it all ends happily ever after.
The End.
Byakko VS The Dragon
…Or is it? You thought we covered the entire basic layer of the movie, so we’re done now, right? Think again! This is only where things start to become really interesting. Please note that this section will take some ideas that were already pointed out by other people, and build on those.
When looking at lore relevance of characters, Atsushi may not immediately spring to mind as one of the most important ones. Sure, he’s the protagonist of the main manga, but in comparison to the mystery surrounding Dazai or Fyodor he fades a little into the background.
Even in this post, an explanation about a movie that’s basically about Atsushi, I’m able to explain the basics of the movie without mentioning him much at all. And yet, the movie’s core conflict is not between Shibusawa, Dazai and Fyodor, but between Shibusawa and Atsushi.
While there isn’t a lot of information given about Shibusawa’s and Atsushi’s connection, what we do get is very interesting. Shibusawa is consistently referred to as a Dragon during Dead Apple, and while subtitles usually translate everything as “tiger”, Atsushi’s tiger is actually referred to as “Byakko” half of the time.
Now what is the difference between any good ol’ normal tiger and the Byakko, I hear you ask. The Byakko is much more than an ordinary tiger, since it is part of the 四神 (shijin/ shishin), the Four Guardians of the Four Compass Directions, which the Dragon is also a part of. What you essentially need to know from this is that the Byakko belongs to the same group of creatures as the Dragon, and that this solidifies Shibusawa’s status as Atsushi’s foil in this movie.
It also allows us to make a direct comparison between Shibusawa and Atsushi. The thing is, I have been lying to you a little bit. So far, I’ve been calling the Dragon a singularity. The truth is, it may not be. I know, I know, if it’s not a singularity, then what was that whole Dragon thing about?
Tumblr media
Fyodor actually specifically tells us that the Dragon isn’t a singularity, but instead it’s “the true form of the chaos born from abilities”. (Note here that the Dead Apple light novel talks about Fyodor as if he is “reciting some Oracle”. Did Fyodor get this information from someone else?) Is this related to why Fyodor wants abilities gone from this world? Is there another layer to abilities and other creatures that BSD hasn’t even touched upon (think Lovecraft)? It’s hard to say at this point. All we can say is that the Dragon gets referred to as something else, and… that the Dragon is similar to the Byakko.
The tiger ability we see that got separated from Atsushi in the movie actually doesn’t follow the rules the other abilities do. It has a clearly defined face, and the red gem is not on its forehead. The gem found on the ability tiger is also red, which is in line with the other extracted abilities we see, but what gets extracted from Atsushi by Shibusawa is this blue cube. The weirdness continues in the flashback we see of Atsushi being tortured by Shibusawa.
Tumblr media
We see Atsushi’s ability leave him, but then in a flash of self protection instinct, he partially transforms into the tiger, claws and all, while the blue gem is outside of his body. Earlier in the movie it is shown that if an ability is extracted from an ability user, they no longer have access to the powers of that ability. Then how is Atsushi able to use his tiger abilities here?
Granted, there is a bit of conflicting information within the movie about this, since during the final fight with Shibusawa this blue cube is once again extracted from Atsushi, but now he does lose his tiger powers. Could he resummon the tiger while not in possession of the cube if the situation is dire enough? Is this just a psychological thing because Atsushi is aware of it this time? Who can say. At any rate, this blue cube is connected deeply with Atsushi, but the clues given imply that it may not be the Byakko itself.
“That’s not an ability! That is me!”―Atsushi, reaching out to the blue cube in Dead Apple
To be honest, the movie does very little in explaining anything around Atsushi, instead raising more questions than answers. For that exact reason, the rest of this section will mostly be speculation about one possible angle on Atsushi’s ability that personally makes sense to me, but of course this is only one potential theory.
I do also want to add here that Atsushi personally goes through an arc in this movie from seeing the tiger as something separate to something that is intrinsically part of him. This can also be a reason for this final exclamation of “that’s me!” when he reaches out to the blue cube, but it doesn’t explain everything, which is why we explore an alternate possibility here.
My take on it is that the Byakko and this blue gem that get extracted from Atsushi are not the same thing. With the side note here being that they are probably deeply connected, but not the same regardless.
My reasoning for this is that everything Atsushi-related you see in Dead Apple makes a little more sense when you consider the Byakko and the blue cube as two separate entities. The Byakko’s gem is red, the cube is blue. The Byakko is framed as something separate from Atsushi, while he claims the cube is not an ability but he himself. Atsushi had access to the Byakko while the blue cube was outside of him. Shibusawa even makes a point of mentioning that the orphanage director, who correctly thought Atsushi was the tiger, had the wrong idea about Atsushi’s ability. The Byakko is definitely Atsushi’s ability, but this blue cube is… something else.
And yet, the tiger is also deeply connected to whatever this blue gem is. Currently, one theory that makes sense to me is that the tiger is an ability that can be passed on, just like Demon Snow, that has the specific task of protecting the power of this blue gem. So, a two in one deal. Atsushi also gets referred to as “the one holding the Byakko ability” by Ivan, which would be in line with the Byakko being an ability that can be passed on as needed. Shibusawa makes a similar statement, calling Atsushi “the one clad in the Byakko”. Atsushi also has issues controlling his ability before joining the ADA, just like Kyouka and Tsujimura, who both also inherited their abilities. I would love to further speculate on this, but there is so little information on anything relating to this, so anything further would be completely baseless.
However, there is one more different clue given to us by the movie. Namely, what this comparison to the Dragon means for Atsushi as the one holding the Byakko.
Almost in the same breath as Shibusawa is recounting Fyodor’s words about the Dragon being the chaos of all abilities, the holder of the Byakko also gets its own description about its true form: the one opposing all abilities.
Tumblr media
This relates to what the blue cube may really be. What Atsushi does to Shibusawa in his final moments is what I essentially believe to be this blue cube’s true power: it completely unravels an ability. The blue power eats up everything supernatural about Shibusawa until only his natural skull is left.
If you think this sounds familiar, it kind of does! I cannot ignore the similarity to Dazai here, though I do have to point out that Dazai can only cancel out an ability, and this blue cube power seems to… completely erase the ability itself, leaving no trace of it. The similarity to Dazai is further found the moment Dazai dies and his ability leaves his body. At first, his ability is white and vaguely similar to the blue cube before deciding that nope, this is just barely not it.
I have a hard time connecting this to anything larger simply because the series does not give a lot of clues on this subject. How did abilities come to be? How is the Book related to that, since it is not an ability or borne from an ability? And how does Atsushi factor into this?
Shibusawa has been led to Atsushi since he believed Atsushi would grant him something special, something he had been looking for all this time. “That which every ability user desires.”
Tumblr media
This is actually a familiar story! This is not the first time Fyodor has led someone to Atsushi with the premise that he would be able to lead them to what they were seeking. The first two seasons of the anime follow that specific idea, of Fitzgerald wanting Atsushi so he can lead him to the Book.
Tumblr media
The tiger as the guide to the Book is something emphasized again and again. While in English it gets translated as “guide”, the original manga panel said “道標(タイガービートル)”, or, “guidepost (pronounced: tiger beetle, in English)”. While this is partially just a funny pun, it also once again points to the tiger specifically as a guide.
It did leave me to wonder about the absence of a certain scene in the series. Fyodor has been sending other people to Atsushi for the entire length of the series, but has never interacted with Atsushi himself. For someone who claims to be looking for the Book, and knows that Atsushi is somehow the guide to the Book, isn’t that a bit weird? Is there a reason Fyodor won’t interact with Atsushi himself? Fyodor knew about Atsushi way before he joined the ADA, so it’s not like Dazai is particularly standing in the way here.
Regardless, this factor that makes Atsushi so special may very well be this blue cube. How does the power to completely undo abilities lead to the Book? Who knows. We simply do not know enough about the Book or the origin of abilities to say more about this. Maybe the true power of the blue cube is something else entirely.
What does all of this mean? Where will it all lead? Only the future (Asagiri) can tell.
The Unexplained and Weird
Welcome to the section I’d fondly refer to as “a collection of things I have no explanation for”. There is plenty of that in this movie, but I do want to touch upon them since not being explainable as of currently does not necessarily mean that they aren’t important in the future. Also, not having an explanation for these things is driving me insane and I need to share in my suffering. Let’s go! :)
Let’s get the big thing out of the way first.
Mukurotoride, my friend, my enemy. For those unaware, Mukurotoride is the name of the large black tower that Shibusawa, Dazai and Fyodor were chilling in for most of the movie. The name gets translated as “Skull Fortress”, but the kanji used gives the name more of a “Dead Man’s Castle” feeling, since it refers to a person long since dead more than a skull. My problem with this tower is as follows: it doesn’t make any sense. Whatsoever.
Tumblr media
Why is it there? Fifteen establishes it’s there seven years before the current timeline, so a year before Shibusawa dies. I would’ve accepted it if the tower was a weird side effect of Shibusawa dying or something, but the current facts point towards this tower not having anything to do with Shibusawa at all. It’s also very decayed. How long has it been there? Who put it there? Is it relevant that it’s right next to Suribachi? Or in the Yokohama foreign settlement? (Side note: foreign settlements have not been a thing since 1899. What’s up with Yokohama having a foreign settlement?) No one seems to know anything about this tower, not even in the Japanese community. And then in-universe, everyone also seems okay with this wildly out-of-place tower that looks like it’s made out of human bones being there in the middle of the city? It’s giving me Sky Casino vibes.
Okay, now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, we can talk about Fyodor’s ability.
I want to start this part by explaining my personal stance on the current Fyodor theories, since it influences how I talk about what is shown of his ability in Dead Apple. There are a bunch of theories about Fyodor having an insta-kill ability that only works on non-ability users. Personally, I don’t subscribe to this theory, and I have multiple reasons for this.
First, I don’t think we’ve ever seen Fyodor’s ability being used. At the end of Cannibalism a cop dies as soon as he touches Fyodor. In the manga abilities don’t have a special shine effect, but in the anime they do. However, in the anime there was no ability-shine here.
A stronger argument, perhaps, is that this happens right in front of Dazai, and Dazai immediately afterwards says he has no clue what Fyodor’s ability could be. He could be lying, of course, but since this is a common enemy he shares with Fitzgerald, who is the one asking him about Fyodor’s ability, I don’t see any reason for him to do so here. The whole murder reads a little bit like Fyodor just putting on a show for Dazai.
Finally, from a narrative viewpoint, killing with a touch is a little… useless? Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s convenient, I guess, when you’re a terrorist who seeks to exterminate part of the global population. But there are many ways to kill a person, and Fyodor has shown time after time that he doesn’t need to rely on an ability to murder people.
The strongest argument for the insta-kill ability in my opinion is Fyodor himself saying “this is my true ability” before killing that kid who was enslaved by Ace. However, this may also be part of something else that is going on with Fyodor, in a way that is perhaps very similar to Atsushi.
Alright. Whether you agree with that or not is up to you. To get back to the movie, there are a few interesting clues provided about Fyodor’s ability.
Tumblr media
The first is of course Fyodor’s iconic line when his ability shows up on screen: “Crime and Punishment are close friends.” Everything he says after that point is already referring to Shibusawa again, so this is the only clue he himself is willing to offer up. If we consider that the abilities that get split from their users represent inner conflict, all he is saying here is that he apparently has no inner conflict. Does he know something else about the world? Does he just know who he is? Honestly, I don’t think we’ll get anywhere talking about Fyodor’s mental state.
Then there is the “I am Crime”, spoken by Fyodor holding the skull, and “I am Punishment”, spoken by his ability holding the apple. This one is slightly more straightforward. The ability user being the crime, and the ability the punishment. I’m not 100% sure if this is actually referring to Fyodor himself, or if it’s just about Shibusawa again. The skull (Shibusawa, an ability user) being the crime, and then the apple (covering the world with fog through Shibusawa’s ability, thus punishing ability users) being the punishment makes sense when viewed like this, but it could be that Fyodor is somehow also referring to himself during these lines.
Okay, if Fyodor is apparently not willing to open up, we can gather some more info just from what we can see instead of what we’re told. Most of what this part covers is taken from these excellent posts, but I’ll summarize it here for the sake of completion. Fyodor’s ability looks different compared to most other abilities. Most of the abilities shown in the movie have a blank face without any features, and have their gem on their forehead. The exception to that first part, interestingly enough, is Elise, Mori’s ability. This is most likely because she has physical form as an ability to begin with. Which then raises the question: does Fyodor’s ability also have a physical form outside of the fog? His ability looks identical, so that would imply some sort of clone ability. Next to this, Fyodor’s epithet is “The Conjurer”, which would be in line with him being able to create another copy of himself. (Though I should add here that the Japanese seems to just refer to him as “魔神”, which can be any type of evil spirit. However, if I’m not mistaken, the “Conjurer” should be from the official translation, but let me know if I’m mistaken on that.)
Finally, there is the position of the gem on Fyodor’s ability. Nearly all other abilities have their gem on their forehead, but for some reason Fyodor’s ability has his on his hand. The only other ability that has its gem not on its forehead is… the Byakko. I don’t have an explanation for this one, but the weirdness should be pointed out, since it’s another way in which Fyodor’s ability deviates from the others.
Next to the above, there are two other weird details I want to quickly touch upon.
First, the knives in the apples in the dish in Mukuroride, as well as the apples with a knife in them in general, as they are the theme of this movie. I believe this to be of a more metaphorical touch, so we won’t read too much into it, but it does have physical consequences that tie back to the title as well.
Tumblr media
This exact shot is used four times throughout the movie, but with a varying amount of knives stuck in the apples. It starts with one, then two, then three. The room starts with just Dazai, then Shibusawa enters, then Fyodor. With each of them showing up, another knife appears in an apple. This is then a metaphor for these three being the instigators behind the Dead Apple incident. These knives in the apples can also be seen as their calling cards, as they were left both at the bar and at the scene of the crime where that agent was killed who was supposed to meet with Kunikida and Tanizaki.
In a later scene, it cuts again to this frame, but a knife and the skull has disappeared. These both get taken by Fyodor. The knife is used eventually to kill Shibusawa, but Shibusawa also took one of these knives to kill Dazai with. Either way, these knives that have been in these apples are used to murder, once again corroborating the connection between death and apples.
And finally, the relevance of the moon.
Tumblr media
There are a few impressive shots of the moon in Dead Apple, where the moon is shown to be enormous, to the point where even the light novel points out how extraordinarily large it is. The novel also points out that the blue cube crystal holds a similarity to the moonlight. Just symbolism to show that it’s connected to Atsushi, or something more? The other side of the page in the main series will also only be written on the night… of the next full moon.
The Point of It All
I hear a lot of “Dead Apple doesn’t matter to the plot, just watch it for the Soukoku scenes and move on”. And while I do agree that it’s not mandatory viewing to understand the storyline that corresponds with season three onwards, I do think there is more to Dead Apple than most people give it credit for.
I always like to ask myself after reading a book or watching a movie: “Okay, so what was the point of that? What was I meant to take away from this?”
For example, in essence Stormbringer is a case study on singularities. Likewise, BEAST is a study into the limits of the Book, and all other side stories similarly have a message, however big or small.
So what does Dead Apple establish? Why bother?
I hope by now you agree that Dead Apple seems to be the introduction to explaining more as to what is so special about Atsushi. This seems to go deeper into chapter 28/29 of the manga, or season 2 episode 8 of the anime, where Atsushi also has some weird things going on with the tiger. What this exactly is, or where this seems to be going is unclear for now, but the Dead Apple definitely emphasizes Atsushi’s importance as well as the concept that there can be something more than just abilities.
In-universe, there are also reasons for this conflict to happen.
Most likely both Dazai and Fyodor knew the end result long before the conflict ever started. It’s their reunion in a way, so I suppose they are both seeing how the other’s condition is at the moment. They may even have gathered some intel somehow? It’s almost like collecting metadata, they won’t have a direct conversation about important things, but they try to collect information just by seeing how the other acts, to see if the other lies within prediction.
Aside from that, on Dazai’s side, except for foiling Fyodor’s plan and keeping Yokohama safe, the Shin Soukoku dynamic also gets strengthened, something Dazai is actively working on. On Fyodor’s side, next to giving the whole “eliminating all ability users” a good honest shot, he also gets to collect a lot of intel on the opposing side. For example, Fyodor in Dead Apple gets to see Corruption up close, which may potentially be relevant.
Finally, from a storytelling perspective, it sets up a lot for the third season, especially in character interactions and relationships, e.g. Atsushi & Akutagawa, Dazai & Chuuya, Kyouka, Fukuzawa & Mori. It should be noted that some characters literally have been intentionally regressed to make the ending make more impact. Whether that was a good decision or not is not why I’m here. You should just know that it’s intentional. You could chalk it up to Atsushi losing his ability impacting him and his behavior a lot, if you wanted to justify it somehow. The Order of the Clock Tower also gets its first anime appearance, showing Agatha Christie on screen, who will most likely play a more important role later on. Likewise, Dead Apple is the introduction to Fyodor as a villain, where you get to see him for more than just a few flashes.
Trivia and Fun Details
I suppose this section is skippable. But who doesn’t love trivia? This is by no means an exhaustive list of everything included in this movie, but rather an overview of what I personally caught, understood and thought relevant to include.
The “Dragon Head” in the Dragon Head Conflict refers to a Qilin, which are said to have similar heads to dragons. Since the conflict centered around the White Qilin, this is where that name comes from.
At some point Akutagawa and Kyouka use a mafia code to refer to a passageway. The code “0505” refers back to Atsushi’s birthday.
The symbol ᛟ found on the outfits of the Mukurotoride squad refers to inheritage, since Shibusawa inherited his own ability. More information about that here.
Dazai at some point meows at Fyodor. This is a very sassy way of telling Fyodor that he will personally eradicate all of Fyodor’s rats in Yokohama, including Fyodor himself. (The light novel calls it a “tedious” meow. Lmao.)
The music from Dead Apple seems to be recycled in season three of the anime. I’m guessing to save on budget?
Atsushi’s door that he eventually opens to unlock his hidden memories has its own music motif that shows up every time he thinks about Shibusawa, the fog or his memories associated with killing him. Try to pay attention to this, it’s really cool.
The motif of the door is also a tune that sounds a lot like the track named Dead Apple, further showing Atsushi’s relevance in his movie.
The lyrics of the soundtrack tell their own story. When the Dead Apple plot first takes off and Dazai is at bar Lupin, a song called My Prince plays telling of Snow White who is sleeping and waiting for her prince. However, it seems to be a spin on the classic, where indeed Snow White chose to knowingly bite the apple knowing it was poisoned, in much the same way as Dazai knew he was going to be poisoned in Dead Apple. Le Cheval Noir tells of how bored the singer is, and how nothing is special to them anymore. This plays during the scene where Dazai talks to Shibusawa, showing Shibusawa’s apathy towards everything. Mein Prinz, the song that plays as Dazai gets backstabbed, is nearly exactly the same song as My Prince, but now more dramatic and in German. This is a clue that Dazai saw this coming from before the Dead Apple conflict even started, and it’s now up to Chuuya again to save him. Overall, Dazai is leaning into the Snow White aesthetic hard in Dead Apple.
And finally, a list of everything the light novel insists refers to the theme of poisonous red apples: the red apples with the knives in them, apple suicide, the merged abilities producing a red sphere, the singularity that results from that in all its forms and the planet covered in red fog. If it’s red and spherical, you can just assume it should represent a deathly apple.
TD;DR
Recapped extremely briefly:
The Dragon Head Conflict introduces Shibusawa as a villain who was kept by the government but went off the rails. Shibusawa’s ability is a fog that splits ability users from their abilities. If ability users die, Shibusawa obtains their ability. Shibusawa died and inherited his own ability, also causing him to lose his memory. Therefore he wants to obtain Dazai's ability in order to gain what he feels he lacks. Dazai betrays Shibusawa together with Fyodor by combining abilities. However, Shibusawa kills Dazai first, adding Dazai's ability to the merged abilities creating a singularity. Fyodor kills Shibusawa, causing him to regain his memory of being previously killed by Atsushi. A dragon is created and defeated, and Fyodor's plan is revealed to be the covering of the entire planet in Shibusawa's fog, killing all ability users. This plan is foiled, but Atsushi is shown to have potentially another power next to his ability (the tiger). This power is possibly the ability to completely unravel abilities, and may be what makes Atsushi the guide to the Book. Mukurotoride is completely left unexplained in the movie, but there are clues given about Fyodor's ability that point away from an insta-kill ability, and more towards a clone type ability.

of seeing so many Yandere! BSD x Reader, and it’s always the character or everyone being Yandere for Reader, I have to request a Platonic! BSD x Yandere! Teen! Reader, in which Reader is in any organization of your choice, and since Reader is underage, they see said organization as their family, precious people that they hold dear to their hearts, and don’t wish for any of them to die or leave and abandon them. This triggers their Yandere instincts, and ultimately they kill anybody who’s hurt their darlings in any way or attempts to "steal" their attention or worse, guide them away from Reader.
LONELINESS NO MORE.
platonic!bsd x yandere!teen!reader
A/N: It's nice to go a bit gruesome sometimes lol- anyways, so I just decided to choose the PM for this.
Tumblr media
Let's just say you were similar to Dazai in a way. As a homeless young child, you had no home or family and friends to even call your own.
And to say the least? It was a little lonely.
This was something rather different, as you grew up to have an understanding that the world is never fair. Even before being taken into the Port Mafia by MORI, you were already much of an unhinged criminal yourself.
In a way, it was bad due to how young you were, but given this was a wretched world on it's own – many things can happen.
You killed, you stole, you did many things. At some point you probably rivaled Dazai's crime list because yours looked like an entire fucking receipt.
And that is what lesd you to the mafia.
MORI had found you, and went 'fuck it', deciding to just grab you and take you back with him to the base.
Well at first – you got a bit defensive, not knowing his real intention and thinking of fighting back yourself. But it was when he gave you new clothes, gave you food, and actually took responsibility of you was when you realized.
This man was just ... taking care of you.
And for the first time? You were really excited. It didn't take very long for you to grow accustomed to the Port Mafia.
Sure they made you do dangerous and gruesome missions, but you were used to it honestly. So it didn't matter that much. You met new faces and grew very attached to them, the dreaded loneliness that creeped into your heart grew into–
Obsession.
Yes, that's right. You found no other reason to dislike them at all, and they treated you like no one else ever did.
Like family.
CHUUYA was rather nice to you, despite his aggression and the rough edges he seems to pull off. Since you're underage, he drinks grape juice with you. Lmao ye, we love that shit. You liked being around him, defending him against accusations and giving him a shoulder to lean on.
He was like a brother to you. You adored most things about the fancy hat man. Scratch that, everything about him.
He releases one of those rare genuine smiles – mostly only to you, and he just thought you were the sweetest.
Oh, how wrong he was.
It was only one simple conversation. CHUUYA was talking to another mafia members in the lower ranks, discussing about the topic for the next PM meeting at hand.
Of course at first glance, they didn't look close at all. Just a normal chat between acquaintances. But did it make you mad?
Obviouely it did.
The very next day, the orange haired-man was looking for the same said man he spoke with the day before. Yet he was rather confused to see he wasn't around.
What the hell? Well that was weird, he could have sworn that he asked to meet them in this same spot right now.
Well, guess he wouldn't be meeting with them after all. In the distance, you were smiling – hiding that dead, cold expression on your face as you wiped the blood off the saw, a few splashee of blood and guts on the weapon.
But of course, you wouldn't let him know anything~ ♡
And simply, KOUYOU made it much easier. She was like a sweet, elder sister that spoiled you and taught you everything that you needed to know.
You simply loved her, and loved the times when you'd just hang around each other and dress one another up in various clothes. Be it trendy outfits or putting makeup on one another.
She took care of you as she should, and she grew very attached as well. KOUYOU was rather protective and sweet.
So when you saw her spoiling another girl in the picture, you were fucking livid.
How dare she pay more attention to another kid than you?
She was treating KYOUKA in private as if she was more important than you ever were. And it began to hardem your heart once more, growing angry at your elder sis paying more attention to some useless assassin.
You were way better than her, stronger even.
So imagine how relieved and prideful you felt when that girl had left the mafia to be with the detective agency instead. She wasn't even loyal! She doesn't deserve to be in the PM!
It left KOUYOU feeling agitated and sad, so you did what a younger sibling would do. You were the one comforting her, even manipulating her with your sweet words. You lured her in and had her give you more attention than before.
Just like how you wanted it to be.
AKUTAGAWA was honestly a tough nut to crack. You can easily tell he doesn't care about you at all. Well, he'd acknowledge your abilities a little but that's all you're getting.
But that won't stop you from killing those who tried to get even the slightest close to him.
After all, family members must stay with one another forever.
You didn't really mind much about that blonde girl who admires him and follows him around. It's not like she can take him away, he doesn't give a damn about her.
Plus, his sister was very nice! She gave you the love you needed, and she actually cared. Even though her brother was pretty cold, you'd think she also was – but in reality, GIN is a sweet, somewhat shy girl who gave you gifts and attention.
No matter which mafia member it was – wheneve ryou were with them, you were so sweet and caring, such an adorable teen who looks out for all of them and their wellbeing.
Yet behind closed doors, while they weren't looking, you glared daggers at other kids or people they payed attention to, your greedy self wanting all of it to yourself.
It wasn't fair.
It wasn't!
You never held back. You spilled their guts out, you ripped out those fools' hearts – crushing it under your foot, knowing you deserved the love more than their ignorants asses ever did.
And most of all? No one noticed a thing. MORI had continued to send you out mission after mission. He didn't notice the desperate pleads of those immature adults, the heartbreaking cries of those innocent children.
If it was for family, you'd do anything.
After doing all that – you give them a sickly sweet smile, as you pull them to hang out and play with you, no questions asked.
They never noticed.
And quite clear, you were a sadistic young teen. After being so pissed seeing those people getting close to them, it's like a breath of fresh air when you hear the bloodcurdling screams coming from their mouths.
TACHIHARA wasn't that observant, but he could tell that there was something not right about you at all. Yet, he himself was not free from the depths of your pure, honest love. He'll find himself spoiling you, loving you – like you're his very own sister.
He was going to fall into the trap whenever he likes it or not, because you love them way too much.
If someone else tries to destroy that happiness,
They'll just have to dissapear like the rest.

I'm really interested in Double Dazai Nightmare wip~ Can you tell about it a bit?
Tumblr media
@the-port-mafia
(Referring to this post) OH BOY
An 18 year old executive of the Port Mafia Dazai suddenly appears at the Agency. No one knows how or why, considering their Dazai is right there, and he more than anyone insists that they can't let this guy just roam around.
And yeah, now there's two Dazais at the Agency office, and one of them has to be monitored at all times. And of course who else would be at Dazai babysitting job but Atsushi.
And so we have Mafia Dazai, trying to gather information about this world and time, observing his other self and trying to understand what would make him work in some Detective Agency.
We have Atsushi, who treats Mafia Dazai more like a person and not some bomb who's about to go off at any second, and Mafia Dazai instantly clocks on that he has a very obvious crush on older Dazai. Which he isn't above exploiting.
And we have current Dazai, who, faced with his past self, is very unhappy that everyone else gets to see him like this. And he only gets more and more unhappy when that brat is trying to flirt with Atsushi, but only because he knows he wants to use him. Not because he's jealous and was planning on ignoring his feelings forever and now someone else is hitting on Atsushi and its not just anyone else its literally HIM and he isn't supposed to be here go bother your own Atsushi-
So yeah its called 'nightmare' because usually my writing isn't all that angsty, but in this one literally everyone is uncertain and conflicted of their feelings and its one huge mess and I feel like even my tendencies to make things more silly won't save these boys from emotional damage
Also for this one I even stated doodling potential covers but sure I like these lol

What if, hear me out, Chuuya wasn't left to suffer alone after Dazai left the PM? What if he had someone that would really be there when he went to hardships/silent breakdowns.
Chuuya xmale!reader (patiënt reader)
𝒞𝒽𝓊𝓊𝓎𝒶 𝓍 𝑅𝑒𝒶𝒹𝑒𝓇
𝒜𝒻𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝒟𝒶𝓏𝒶𝒾 𝐿𝑒𝒻𝓉
It’s gn reader, I don’t do male
Tumblr media
Life without Osamu Dazai in the port mafia was different
Not better, but not necessarily worse
Less people died, Mori became self sufficient without the prodigy
But Chuuya felt strange
Even if feeling the same as the general consensus of his absence
He wasn’t better or worse because he felt nothing
Then there’s you
Patient with him, understanding
Throughout every stage
Denial
Chuuya Nakahara was fucked
And so was the port mafia is any larger than life issue happened to come by
He could no longer use corruption safely, not without dying
So when the moment comes when a mission requires that sort of strength, only you can save his life
“I have to! You don’t understand, half our god damn organization will die if I don’t!”
Quick words shot from his mouth to your ears, aimed for you. His gloves being removed from his hands will he glared at you. Why were you so stubborn?
“No Chuuya! You’re going to die! You’re going to die and leave me all alone. What if it happens again? What if you can’t save me?”
That was plain cruel, using yourself to convince him. Making a hypothetical of you in pain, but it was necessary. He wouldn’t listen otherwise.
“Fuck… Fuck! Alright, fine!”
Anger
Why would the one person in this world who felt similar to him leave? Get taken away
One who didn’t feel human
He never blamed Dazai, no
He knew it was for the better, he needed help
But your empathy could only go so far
Verlaine didn’t count, because they weren’t close
You didn’t count because you were fully and wonderfully human in his eyes
But Dazai, he was off the same vine of pain
A creature other than
“Chuuya? Hey, I just wanted to check up on you”
His apartment was the place you knew he’d be in not at work. No more late night motorcycle rides or wine galleries. He let you in, of course he did.
“Well, I’m fine.”
“Don’t lie to-”
He cut you off.
“I’m. Fine.”
“Chuu, this place is a mess. You’re clearly needing help.”
He didn’t even look at you. Still glued to the glass infront of him, sloshing his wine.
“Do you ever just mind your own business?! I mean fuck! You come into my place, and judge me? I’m sorry I’m not perfect enough for your bullshit standards.”
He was being short with you, uncharacteristically so. Usually this rudeness was reserved for particularly stressful days, in which he’d apologize for after. But for now it’s best not to push.
“…I brought you some chocolate covered strawberries?”
Your meek voice caught his true attention. More than that, the kindness of it. The kindness in you. And guilt ran through like a damn train.
Every little thing was seemingly ticking him off, but you weren’t “every little thing.” No, you deserved better.
He walked over to you, took the container of sweets you offered into his hands, and stared.
Why would someone ever be so kind?
He ate one, wincing at the taste of love you had put in. Pain on his tongue from the unfamiliar feeling of care.
“…I’m sorry, thank you.”
Only you could calm that storm of anger now, and calm the storm you did.
Bargaining
Chuuya’s office was soundproof just like every other room in the headquarters
Locked only on certain occasions
But you knew today was nothing special, and he hadn’t answered to your insistence knocking
So with your key, that he gifted you, you entered his office
To find this
Chuuya was looking through every phone number in the most recent phone record kept by the port mafia.
All across Yokohama, he called every one without a name attached.
“What are you doing?”
He snapped out of it, and stared at you. Confused and a bit hazed after such a long time of silence.
“Nothing.”
“Nothing is nothing, this is psychotic.”
You could tell what he was doing, of course you could. You knew him well.
“What?”
He was no longer snappy as he usually would be with one of your insults, but struck. He knew you meant it this time.
“He isn’t come back, Chuuya. He left, for himself. He didn’t leave because you or I, he left because he needed to. You know that, don’t be a fool.”
Your stern attitude scared him straight, and he stood up. Then walking over to you before giving you a hug.
He seemed so desperate for a reason. You gave him that, and he was grateful.
Depression
Late nights sometimes meant sharing a bed
Staying over each others places after a mission if it was closer
So him turning up at 2am was not shocking
But that fact he looked so down was
His eyes looked dead, and his body trembled. He held nothing, not even a wallet or phone.
Just standing at your door, looking abandoned.
So you ushered him to your bed, and let him settle. You never questioned his moods, but were always there. Petting his hair, in silence.
The silence he needed, only from you.
Acceptance
A glass of wine always represented a victory for Chuuya. A celebration of something. This something though was confusing him.
But if you bring him a vintage bottle and say congratulations, he won’t complain.
Half drunk, bottle half gone, night half over. That’s when your conversations always got the deepest.
“Say, why’d you bring this bottle over anyways?”
“To say congrats, duh!”
You laughed, and smiled at him teasingly.
“No no, I mean seriously. What for?”
“For grieving.”
He stopped. Noticing his expression, you continued.
“You got over Dazai, believe it or not. Even if you’ve been a real bitch about it.”
You giggled, drunk. But a certainty clarity reached your mind. And you looked at him happily, with content.
“I’m so sorry. I’ve been terrible”
“Shh, don’t apologize.”
But you let him, he needed to speak.
“I don’t understand why I’ve been so damn wild. He’s a dick, but he’s my ex partner.”
“Because maybe the world didn’t end when Dazai left, it just kept spinning.”

Top 10 bsd characters oral scenarios: Ryunosuke Akutagawa
Hello! Here’s the Ryu chapter! I did everything yesterday but I guess I forgot to hit publish or something?? Sorry about that, as an apology I’ll be posting the Chuuya chapter today as well:)
Contains: afab reader, no pronouns, face-sitting, overstim, kinda ooc, nipple play I think, orgasm delay, teasing, kinda angsty but like what do you expect it’s Aku, Rashoumon but like sexually, she’s used as light bondage
Check the original post out on ao3! (same user)
“ Can you come home? I want you. ”
“What?”
You were enjoying your day in some mall, spoiling yourself just a little. Of course, it would’ve been nice to invite your lovely boyfriend, Akutagawa, but he was busy with something involving the Port Mafia, he didn’t go into detail. He probably felt like saving you from the gory details. He was even kind enough to supply you with a fair amount of money, silently sliding it into your hand when you were about to leave. It’s crazy how much money he makes because of his jobs at the Port Mafia, and he’s only a part of the command unit.
Your day at the mall was cut short when you received a call from the one and only Akutagawa, and you assumed it had something to do with the money he gave you until you picked up the phone.
“Huh? I thought you had a job today.”
“I finished it early. I need you right now.”
You stood for a few seconds, confused and now slightly turned on. Understanding all too well what he wanted, you complied with his wishes.
“Alright, I’ll be there in about an hour, I have to check out at the store I’m at, and the drive is 45 minutes.”
Silence stood on the other line, then a short “hurry.” Was said before Akutagawa hung up abruptly.
Now that whatever Akutagawa was planning was on the schedule for tonight, you wanted to get home as soon as you could, bouncing your leg in line, waiting.
‘ Finally, that line was so long. ’
You fiddled with your keys, trying to get inside of your car, the desperate way you searched through your keys and wallet making it harder for you to actually get into the car.
‘ God, finally. ’ Once you made it into your car, you shifted uncomfortably in your seat.
‘ Damn it Ryuu, why’d you have to be so demanding when I’m so far away? ’ you kept thinking about whatever it was he wanted to do, and it made you more and more needy, picturing whatever it was he wanted you to do to you.
With you taking a considerable amount of shortcuts and speeding a bit more than what was ethical, you made it back in record time. Only 45 minutes.
Fiddling with your keys yet again, you were cut off by Akutagawa opening the door for you and pulling you inside hastily.
“Took you long enough.” Akutagawa commented, noticing how you were lightly rubbing your thighs together. You wanted to give some snarky response, but you were cut off by Akutagawa grabbing your hair and leaning into you, kissing you rather roughly.
You were embarrassed because you hadn’t even gotten a chance to shut the door yet, and you pushed it shut with your foot.
You pulled back, already desperate for air from how vigorous Akutagawa was with his kissing. You pulling away didn’t deter Akutagawa for even a second, and he instead brought his lips down to your neck and began kissing and licking at it intently.
“Aa—Ryuu—what’s gotten into y—ah!” You were cut off by him licking at your sensitive spot, and him lightly groping you. Noticing your reaction, he paused and asked if you were alright.
“Is this not okay?”
“No—it’s fine, it’s just.. this is different. You never act like this.”
“I finished work early so I wanted to spend some time with you.”
You have a puzzled look, then a small moan from Akutagawa reuniting his lips with your neck, slowly trailing down to the tops of your breasts, while bringing his right hand down to grasp your bottoms and underwear at the same time, pulling them down just enough for you to be on full display, this made the blood rush to your cheeks while you questioned him.
“And you being done with work early caused this? I mean, I’m not complaining but it’s different.”
He gave a sigh “can we talk about this later? I just want you right now. We can talk about work after.”
You looked at him and nodded. “Alright, but let’s at least get up the stairs before we go any farther.”
Akutagawa nodded, and pulled you up the stairs by your wrist and then walked to the closest room with a soft surface that he could lay on, which happened to be your front room.
He laid down on your couch, luckily it was fairly large, it could fit the both of you.
“Could you sit on my face?”
Your eyes widened, and Akutagawa rephrased his question.
“Would you be fine with sitting on my face?”
You laughed a little, and Akutagawa looked at you rather blankly.
“Well that was blunt.”
“I’m blunt.”
You nodded, “that you are.”
Akutagawa looked at you expectantly, awaiting your answer. “Well?”
You said nothing, and instead pulled your bottoms down, completely stepping out of them. You smiled then straddled his hips and leaned down, quickly giving a small and quick kiss to his neck, not wanting to make him wait much longer, he was clearly a little desperate after all.
“Of course I will.” You spoke into his collar bones. You moved yourself upwards until you hovered just too high for his mouth to reach. Akutagawa didn’t sit and wait, and instead pulled your hips down till your heat was touching the outside of his lips.
Akutagawa opened his mouth and darted his tongue out straight to your clit, licking a circle on it.
You gave a barely audible groan, and immediately ground your hips down onto his tongue, increasing the amount of friction on your clit, causing you to repeat the process over and over again. Akutagawa gave a cute small moan under you due to the slightly suffocating feeling that arose from you grinding yourself onto him. How was he already driving you crazy from just one small lick? I guess you had been waiting for this for almost an hour, and he went straight to your clit with no precautions. Akutagawa kept licking at your clit before eventually beginning to suck on it. As of right now, Akutagawa was gripping the couch harshly, although it was fruitless due to the fact there weren’t really any blankets to grip onto.
You being so desperate for release in the car made your orgasm arrive pretty quick, and you wanted to try and warn Akutagawa.
“I’m clo—se..!” With this warning, Akutagawa paused the movement of his tongue, and sat there silently.
“What? Why’d you stop??” You whined, trying to grind down on Akutagawa, but he grabbed your hips and pulled you down onto his upper chest.
“Beg for it.” He said, staring straight into your eyes. You sat there silently, not really wanting to get rid of your dignity so easily.
“Come on. I know you can do it.” Akutagawa repeated his command yet again with a straight face, although it was a little difficult to take him seriously with the bottom half of his face being covered in your precum. Akutagawa noticed this, and wiped it off, closing his eyes and covering his face in the process, clearly a little embarrassed. While his mouth was covered, he coughed once or twice before asking again, now having a dry face.
“Just ask me and I promise I’ll keep going.”
Feeling your orgasm just sitting there in your stomach, not going anywhere, you grew desperate and whined quietly before giving into his requests.
“Please, let me cum. Please.” Your begging almost came out as a whisper, and Akutagawa was clearly not satisfied.
“You can do better than that.”
You looked away from him, considering just doing what he wanted. You were still stuck in place, considering how Akutagawa’s patience was running rather thin, he moved his hands up to grip on your thighs tightly, his nails digging into your skin just a little.
What finally got you to give in was when he quickly moved you back up to the top of his face and kissed your clit, your sensitivity running wild, even the slightest bit of stimulation made you jerk your hips down into him, and beg like he wanted without even realizing it.
“Please! I-I wanna cum so bad, I wanna cum all over your face! Please, please..” you begged, feeling yourself beginning to tear up from the overwhelming need to cum, barely even acknowledging how lewd your statement was.
Akutagawa noticed this, and took your begging into account, deciding that he was now satisfied. Without another word, he moved his tongue between your folds, and sucked at your clit, still holding your thighs tightly.
“God, I’m—” you couldn’t even finish your sentence before you came, expecting to be able to calm down, you were shocked when he kept going, continuing to suck on your clit with absolutely zero shame.
“Ahnn.. why’re you still g-going?” You pleaded, and Akutagawa gave a muffled moan yet again, not responding to your question. The overstimulation was pleasurable right now, but at the rate Akutagawa was going, you were sure it would start to hurt at least a little bit very soon. What changed however, was Akutagawa’s grip on your left thigh was completely removed when he brought his index and middle finger to your hole and spread your precum quickly and slid inside of you. He rested his fingers inside allowing you to get used to the feeling, contrary to his lips that kept working on your clit. Already knowing what he was waiting for, you nodded your head letting him know he was fine to move if he so pleased. When he thrusted his fingers slowly, he sped up his work with his mouth, the contrasting feeling driving you to your next orgasm.
It was far too much, and you tried to pull yourself off of Akutagawa, but he quickly grabbed your thighs, removing his left hand from your hole in the process. Muffled under you, you heard him ask, “just a little more? Can’t you last a little longer?”
“Yes, I’ll try.” You said, grinding down onto his face slightly.
“Perfect. Just tell me to stop if it gets too much.”
Without another word, Akutagawa brought his tongue up to your hole, and grabbed the innermost part of your thigh to pull you down as far as he could, and slowly thrusted his tongue inside of you. Your eyes shot open much wider than before and you grabbed the top of the couch tightly, trying to ground yourself. Encouraged by this response, Akutagawa sped up the movements of his tongue. The feeling of your walls surrounding the small amount of his tongue he could bring inside of you made him buck into the air just a little, and he brought his left hand down to his hard on, gently palming himself. He felt a little ashamed of what he was doing, but he was desperate at this point. In order to make up for his dominant hand no longer holding you down, he lifted his head up so he could thrust his tongue impossibly deeper into your hole. You simultaneously ground your hips down onto his mouth, only increasing the intensity of his actions.
You could feel the familiar feeling of release yet again, and you warned Akutagawa.
“Please.. I’m close. Make me cum, please! Don’t—don’t stop!” Akutagawa nodded as much as he could under you, and you sighed with relief. What caught you off guard, however, was Akutagawa urgently pulling you off of him and resting you on his chest. You wanted to whine because he pulled you off after he promised , but you were met with a fit of coughs from Akutagawa, and you frowned slightly.
“Ugh—I apologize. I know you were close.”
“It’s fine. You’re clearly worn out, let’s just lay down for now.”
Akutagawa shook his head, and pulled himself up so he could lean against the back of the couch, and beckoned you to sit on top of him. Hesitantly, you complied, not wanting to take too much out of him.
“I’m gonna make you cum. I won’t let you stop until you come one more time.”
“Ryuu.. you really don’t have to.”
“I will.”
You sighed, knowing this was a battle you couldn’t win. You sat atop his lap, straddling him, making sure to not put too much weight onto him. Akutagawa grabbed at the hem of your shirt, and gave you a is this okay? look. You nodded, and to emphasize it, you pulled the shirt off yourself, leaving you in your bra.
Akutagawa reached his left hand to your back and unhooked the back of your bra with his hand, and watched it fall down your shoulders. You lifted your arms, and you were now completely naked, opposite to Akutagawa, with the only thing he wasn’t wearing being shoes. But he’s still wearing socks, of course.
At least he understood this, and decided that the jacket shouldn’t just be for show. He mumbled Rashoumon , and suddenly your hands were being held up, only not getting tired because they were being held up by his jacket. You jumped, and looked at him playfully.
“You could’ve warned me first! My heart nearly jumped out of my chest.”
“I assumed you’d be used to it by now.”
You shook your head, looking into his eyes and smirking just a little.
“Well, come on, if I can’t use my hands you better put that mouth of yours to good use. Again .”
Akutagawa decided to ignore your teasing and complied, reaching his mouth towards your chest, and taking one of your nipples into his mouth, licking around the tip of it. He slowly moved his right hand to your other nipple, pulling on it gently. After a few seconds, he brought his left hand down to your crotch, and entered you yet again. This time however, he went much faster, thrusting into you quickly.
You let out a loud moan and all the stimulation and brought your head down to the side of his head, closing your eyes tightly.
“G-god, Ryuu, you feel s-so good..” in response he hummed, and the vibrations against your burning skin made you jerk your hips forward. This made Akutagawa’s fingers pull out of you to just the tip, so he quickly thrusted them back in before moving his thumb to your clit. You tried to pull your hands forward to grip onto Akutagawa, but you were unable to pull your hands out of Rashoumon’s grasp.
“P-please, Ryuu, lemme hold you!” You cried out before Akutagawa looked away from you for a split second, and released Rashoumon from you, and you instantly grabbed Akutagawa’s shoulders so tightly he was sure you would leave some bruises behind, not that he cared.
You pulled your head back, and looked at Akutagawa, only to be met by his eyes staring right into yours. It looked so intense, so intimate, that it drove you over the edge, making you cum one last time.
You shook a little as you came, and Akutagawa pulled away from your nipples and kept fingering you slowly, helping you ride out your high. Once you were calmed down, he pulled out of you, and you whimpered quietly from the friction.
You breathed heavily for roughly thirty seconds, with your eyes shut tightly. Once you had caught your breath, you opened your eyes and looked at Akutagawa and smiled.
“That was nice. You did so well.”
Akutagawa looked away, embarrassed, before coughing a few times into his sleeve.
“Glad you liked it,” you stared at him. “Just one problem though.”
Akutagawa raised an eyebrow, and questioned you.
“And what might that be?”
You leaned down, and kissed Akutagawa intensely, grabbing the back of his head gently. After a few moments, Akutagawa reached back and grabbed your hand, trying to pull it away. You moved your hand and pulled away.
“I didn’t get to help you at all.”
Akutagawa instantly understood what you meant, and looked at you blankly.
“You don’t have to help me. Seeing you like this is enough to keep me content.”
You sighed playfully, and slid down onto the ground, reaching your hand under his jacket, you gently caressed his knee over his pants. Akutagawa’s eyes widened just a little, and he shifted from the uncomfortable tightness in his slacks.
“I want to help you out. Please?” You asked while slowly trailing your hand up until it met his belt. You teasingly grabbed the buckle, beginning to undo it.
“We can take as many breaks as you need. I just want to please you.” You looked into his eyes, and Akutagawa loosely grabbed your hair and moved his hand down himself to get the belt undone faster.
“ Do as you wish . ”
Poor guy doesn’t have the stamina to go for longD: I think his foreplay makes up for it though

Your relationship with fem reader for Akutagawa plz
Minors DNI
TW: SMUT, sweet Ryunosuke (oh my...), afab reader, mentioned of using abilities
Tumblr media
Ryunosuke as your friend:
Your relationship is weird, although that's not a word that could easily describe the emotional swing he gives you every time. Akutagawa is a difficult person with a difficult character, so you just need to get used to it and accept it as a fact;
Friendly and comradely relations are of little interest to him, since Ryunosuke understands that with his lung disease he will not live long, therefore making friends, in his humble opinion, does not make sense;
For this reason, both of you are helped by his sister, who begins to spend more time with you. And then, after a while, he starts to connect the elder Akutagawa to your walks;
At first, Ryunosuke spent time with you because that was his sister's desire, and he would never cross her, but after that, the young man began to understand that he liked your company … in a way;
Afraid to open up to you, because the thought that you will leave him alone when you find out what kind of person he is is frightening. Plus, the past in the form of a reminder of dead friends always follows on the heels, so Akutagawa tries to do everything so that you are as far away as possible from the Port Mafia;
Tumblr media
Ryunosuke as your boyfriend:
To fall in love. Akutagawa always laughed at the "idiots" who become attached to someone and feel mutual sympathy, somewhere deep inside envying them. And then you appear in his life;
At first, Ryunosuke avoids you as much as he can when he realizes that he has fallen in love. So that he, the one who is almost called a demon, fell in love with someone? This is inconceivable! Feelings are a sign of weakness. But his only weakness really is you;
Akutagawa has absolutely no experience in relationships, so he can be awkward when no one sees you, embarrassed when you are very close to him;
His palms get sweaty when he's nervous, which is why he never takes your hand himself. He's a bit ashamed;
Possessive. Very. Much. If you told him that you love him, it means that you should be there for him and not exchange pleasantries with any of the other guys. This concerns people from the Port Mafia first of all;
Despite his rudeness in communication and demeanor, in bed, Ryunosuke, surprisingly, demonstrates an uncharacteristic tenderness;
By inviting him to visit you, you did not mean that you would lie under Akutagawa in only your underwear, while he still awkwardly pokes yours with dry lips from excitement. It is unusual for him to feel someone's cautious touches on himself, it is unusual that someone other than his sister takes care of him. It's unusual to him to be loved.
“Are you sure?" The brunette clarifies when you suggest that he use Rashomon on you to fix your hands in one position. Ryunosuke is more than certain that his ability can only bring pain, death, and suffering. Rashomon is not intended for anything else, however, the young man meets your gaze full of confidence. You trust him, you trust that he will not blunder. Akutagawa feels like there isn't enough room in his chest for his heart to swell at the mere sight of you.
With uncharacteristic tenderness, Akutagawa kisses your cheeks, where a blush shows through, and long flaps of fabric protrude from his white shirt, which wrap around your wrists, pressing them to the mattress. And this is really very convenient. At least Ryunosuke has both of his hands free so he can pull off your soaking wet underwear, and then pull off his pants along with his underpants.
The room fills with your synchronized moan as Akutagawa enters inside you in one fluid motion. It's too tight and hot inside of you to not go crazy with the sensations, but the brunette pulls himself together and begins to slowly move inside you.
Not used to accepting gifts, but when you insist Akutagawa just can't say "No";
Does not like to show the status of your relationship, believing that it is wrong and entails risks for you and him. He won't survive your loss.
You and Dazai are the only two people he wants praise from. Just pat him on the head, cuddle him and tell him how well he is doing. He needs it, even if Ryunosuke is used to denying it;

Can we possibly get yan!paul hcs???
I would love to see how youd picture him, if not, can we have Tachihara yan hcs by chance?
OH MY GOD YES! I FUCKING LOVE PAUL AND HE DOES NOT GET TALKED ABOUT! HE HAS SO MUCH YANDERE POTENTIAL!
had to use a stage play gif lol
Tumblr media
Paul is the definition of a protective and patronizing yandere with a touch of delusional. Hè sees his darling as a poor, weak, little thing. But yet in his eyes, she is absolutely perfect, she just doesn't know how to protect herself. He is an assassin, someone who kills people but something about being his darling's guardian angel from the shadows is just so perfect, it is the thing he was missing.
Now where the delusional bit plays in, in Strombringer he sees Chuuya as his little brother when he's not really (I mean kinda but it's hard to explain) so he sees his stalking almost as courting, he's getting to know his darling after all. But even when he can't because of being in the Port Mafia basement, he is still a Port Mafia executive, having some of his underlings follow you around and report back to him is the next best thing.
But over time he grows increasingly frustrated and envious, his subordinates get to see you but he can't. The final straw is when Paul finds out you have gotten a good job and will have to move out et Yokohama because of that. Without hesitation Paul has you kidnapped by his subordinates, of course he never told them about his relations with you, it is none of their business. So in the middle of the night you hear footsteps and then someone bash you on the side of your head before you can even get out of bed.
The next thing you realize you're waking up in a dark, concrete, room, it's nicely furnished but still not where you would want to be. Behind the metal door, that seems to be the only entry and exit, you can hear yelling about how "you were to rough" and "did you see the bruise you left on her head? It's as big as my hand!" You are left shaking at this, wondering what is going to happen to you. Then you hear more muffled speaking following by the shuffling of feet. Then the door unlocks with a click and they’re standing in the door frame is a handsome man to say the least but also the man behind your kidnapping.
When he sees you panicked he doesn't understand why you are, he did this for you, to keep you safe from the outside world that wants to hurt you. Even if he doesn't understand that won't stop him from wrapping his arms around you and kissing your tears away, telling you everything will be alright.
Honestly life with Paul isn't bad, he tries to keep life as normal as possible, despite you never seeing the light of day again. He lets you have full reign of the "house", knowing full well if you try anything he can easily stop you either physically or with his ability. So you can make yourself food with knifes, shave, and have access to other sharp objects but try to use them against him, ha nice try. Also with that good luck picking the locks on the door, by the time you finish he'll notice or his subordinates standing guard outside of it will.
Also if you think him being fluffy and sweet to you will mean your family and friends are safe, think again. He killed the Flags, Chuuya’s friends, so if your friends or family get close to finding out where you are or what happened he’ll snap his fingers and have them either killed or brought to him and killed by his hands. He never lets you see the people or the bodies, but from behind the door you would hear the screams and voices of your family, your friends, and then see Paul come back, covered in their blood. He’ll smile at you, kiss your head, and go off to clean himself up while you just sit there is utter shock and horror.

Dazai Osamu Platonic Headcanons
Tumblr media
Thank you all so much for all the likes on my last post- honestly that's half of the reason why I'm feeling motivated to write more 😭🩷 and this post is inspired by my friend saying Dazai would make a cool brother/best friend and I hope you enjoy it <3
TW: Mention of suicide but nothing more that that.
Dazai most of the time doesn't mean the things he says, he just does it to get a reaction out of people(remember him with Kunikida and his false health facts?) specially if he has just met them. So be perpared to hear a lots of weird stuff coming out of him.
You can never read him, he could have the most serious look on his face and be like "How much pressure would hit my skull if I jump off of this floor? does it kill people immediately? or is it painful?"
Always has a way to amuse you or just simply surprise you, he likes seeing you speechless because of him, it makes him feel proud.
He flirts and he does it really well- doesn't matter if he's your best friend or anything he would make you flatter, laugh and confused.
If you're apart of the Armed Detective Agency then I hope you're ready to be distracted by Dazai and then scolded by Kunikida for not finishing your work.
Very dramatic. If you side with anyone else against him he'll act like the biggest drama king you've ever met.
"But- but how could you! After all this time-"
Dazai has a lots of faith in those he trusts, and that's one of the main reasons why he's always successful with his plans. So when he involves you as apart of the plan be aware that he'll be trusting you with his whole life.
He's pretty clingy, at least he can be pretty clingy, but again this is just another one of his tricks into getting a reaction for fun cause he gets bored.
Dazai doesn't talk about his past, not at all. He doesn't really care about it anymore, it's all in the past after all! And the only reason why you found out he used to be apart of the port mafia is because he mentioned it in his words when he was explaining a plan for you.
"Yeah? Why are you looking at me like that-"
He can read people like a book, so with a single glance he manages to figure out your character, and almost all his theories about the things you like or dislike were true as well so it's pretty clear that he can make you comfortable around him.
Remembers everything you say, but won't exactly act like he does. In another word, you're surprised he even remembers since he wasn't paying much attention when you said something like that. Sometimes you don't even remember telling him something, and yet he does.
"Oh you mentioned it two weeks ago on Tuesday, don't you remember?"
Wohooo he is a very complicated character to understand so I'm sorry if he can get ooc a bit 😭

what's your take on odasaku and dazai's idealization of him?
also any takes you want to share about bsd/bsd in general?
(If you don't mind, I'm also interested in your thoughts about verlaine if thats ok 😭) tyty
who's your fave bsd character and whose the character from bsd you want to have more screen time?
i think its another case of projecting onto someone and it fucking things up. like notably how kouyou projects her own feelings abt light & dark onto kyouka. we just dont often see it that way because what oda does is like. stereotypically good? he uses his dying words to push a friend out of the dark. a death motivating others to act and furthering their character development is classic storytelling. you go into bsd knowing dazai is on the "good guys" side (not that the ada are "bad" but obviously reading bsd as a good guys vs bad guys story is. wrong), so clearly it worked out. so you kind of overlook the surrounding events yk? plus dazais own idolization of oda hammers that in. dazai tells atsushi that "He was a friend of mine (...) He’s the reason I quit the Port Mafia and joined the agency. I’d probably still be killing people for the mafia if it wasn’t for him" in dead apple (the lightnovel. im not going to go through pulling up the movie for this fhfhtndj). and so aside from previous bias people are going to take what dazai says at face value. hes thankful oda showed him the "side that saves people" and of course we're going to agree with that. the thing is. again. projection. now i havent actually finished dark era (i am working through it) but a lot of the time it feels like oda is just shoveling off all his feelings about being "someone meant for the darkness" onto dazai when thats something thats not going to be true for. well. anyone really? and his final conversation with dazai is very influenced by that. he says "You told me if you put yourself in a world of violence and bloodshed, you might be able to find a reason to live... (...) You won’t find it (...) You should know that. Whether you’re on the side that takes lives or the side that saves them, nothing beyond your own expectations will happen. Nothing in this world can fill the hole that is your loneliness. You will wander the darkness for eternity". now the thing is this is kind of a fucked up thing to say to an 18 year old with suicidal tendencies, but odas view of dazai makes it seem like a well needed wake up call. he obviously had good intentions. hes trying to "step into that solitude" but because of his flawed view of dazai he kind of. stumbles. dazai up to this point has been clinging onto the hope that he'd find a reason to live by observing the entire human experience. now oda comes along and dazai thinks hes found someone who understands him better than anyone, and oda tells him hes not going to find that. ever. so he should become a better person and make the world a good place. and also he's dying. so dazai, as we've seen, takes these words to heart. so hes not going to find a reason to live but he should also make the world a better place. good cool got that. so i think he gets a bit too comfortable being collateral for a good cause. and hes already convinced hes not going to find anything here, so of course hes not going to find anything. does that make sense.
i dont think ive phrased anything correctly here but like anyway i think with all his other friends around he'll be able to sort things out there. i cant see bsd ending without any sort of resolution for him in this regard yk.

I have a question for you guys.
I was rewatching Yosano's backstory episode (and cried again. what of it?) but something this time caught my attention.
In the scene where Fukuzawa and Mori are fighting and Fukuzawa angrily tells him his plans "lack humanity"... is the word they both use... not "kokoro"?
Tumblr media
It would appear to be, from this manga translation. If that really is the choice of word, that's really interesting, because one of irl Natsume-sensei's most well-known books is the novel Kokoro.
What does this mean? Is Mori really following the plan Natsume laid out for them? Is he derailing from the initial plan with the exclusion of "heart/humanity"? Did Natsume intend for "heart" to be sacrificed in the name of defense? Or is this conflict, with "heart" at the center, exactly what Natsume needed for this plan to work?
And on Mori's end: this isn't his usual cold, impeccable logic. This is anger that Fukuzawa is getting in the way. More than that, it almost seems to me like Mori has a paranoid streak. Check this out here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To be quite honest with you, Mori sometimes makes weird calls that imo aren't the best decisions - and they're all out of some fear he has, typically over the protection of the city and the country. Mori's takeover of the Port Mafia is seen as overall a good thing - because the previous boss grew increasingly paranoid and started ordering unnecessary violence, something Mori himself wishes to avoid whenever possible. Yet his projection onto Dazai causes issues during the Mimic incident - sure it was logically sound, but he lost Dazai for it. Was it really then the best solution there was? And what about Yosano - so caught up in what she could prove and what she meant for the war effort that he failed to consider her taking drastic action out of sheer despair? It's interesting that Mori, who advises others on not letting their fears and emotions get in the way of strategy, is prone to the same thing at times. Might he get worse at this kind of miscalculation? It'd be altogether kind of tragic if he messes up later in the story out of paranoia, considering his predecessor's legacy...
Edit: I changed the last bit, as it's left somewhat unclear if part of Mori's reasoning in the whole Mimic incident was to get Dazai away from him - in fact, it's likely that wasn't the case at all and Dazai was just saying this to intentionally get under his skin. Unfortunately I am a bit of dumbass who misinterpreted this line on first read, and now read it differently:
Tumblr media
He's sticking with the logicality of it - one person's life for a gifted business permit is a worthwhile sacrifice, even if it drove away his right hand man. Either way, whether it's projection (Dazai is just like me, so he'll understand) or paranoia (he is going to inevitably kill me someday - which is still kinda projection imo) or some combination of the two - I think the original point still stands: maybe focusing all your efforts on ensuring you're always prepared for some eventuality or other means you overlook things you deem less important or irrelevant. Maybe removing heart from your decisions... isn't actually the best call in the end.

Caregiver Dazai hcs
Warnings: None! (Surprising considering its Dazai right?)
Notes: I ACCIDENTLY POSTED THIS WHEN I HADN'T FINISHED IT YET :( anyway, I don't understand bsd characterization yet.. So if Dazai seems reallyy ooc I'm sorry :[ This is centered around reader or you~ But if you want him for actual characters feel free to send an ask and request :D
Tumblr media
- Dazai is a very excited caregiver, he likes taking care of you and he isn't afraid to show it! He's very affectionate- Hand holding, kissing your forehead, holding you close. Lots of hugs!! And I mean lots.
- But Dazai is also secretly, very overprotective. He keeps you safe in ways you wouldn't notice unless you looked closely, but you are much too small for that !! So let Dazai cuddle you instead of walking near that alleyway- "Oh- Nope! No going over there~ It's cuddle time!!"
- Speaking of him being secretly overprotective, he's so silly that you won't notice him glaring at anybody who comes a bit too close for his liking!! If he even hears of port mafia members walking near the place you two are headed (because he obviously can sense Chuuya coming a mile away) he will switch walking routes instead of doing his thing where he purposefully walks down that road.
- He will probably baby you even when you're big, which means it's impossible to ignore your regression with him.. And you better not try. You're too busy? Not anymore!! You wanna focus on a project? Uh.. Nope!~ You can't regress? That's alright! Just let him wrap you in a blanket, give you a paci and watch your favorite cartoons together.
- Dazai uses you as an excuse alot to get out of doing paperwork- Kunikida is yelling at him and Dazai is just pouting, "My baby needs me! I can't stay here when my precious baby needs help-" and the thing you need help with is changing your cartoons, somehow it takes three hours before Dazai comes back to do paperwork.. But oh! Atsushi finished it already sooo-
- Dazai coos at you. Constantly. 24/7. You will literally breathe and Dazai is dying from how adorable you are, People know to avoid the room where you can hear the high pitched- "Awh you are such a cutie!!!- oh you need help? Ofcourse- AWHHH~~~"
- In the agency, no one cares you regress. However.. Kunikida IS TIRED OF DAZAI AVOIDING HIS PAPERWORK. So after a bit, they build you a little area near Dazai's desk where you can play.. Now he can't LEAVE. BECAUSE YOU ARE HERE- *Ahem.* anyway.
- But!. If you don't want others to know you age regress, or more specifically the agency- Then Dazai will keep it a secret! He's good at excuses, and very good at knowing when you are regressed or slightly drifting near your headspace. So if you guys are in a important meeting but you're starting to regress, Dazai literally does not care. Man will just pick you up and go "Okay cool, we are gonna leave now :D" just up and leaves with you in his arms.
- Dazai doesn't seem like much of a cook, and he isn't, but he can make the basics. You know those mom's who cut their children's lunch into shapes? Dazai does that. If you are older when regressed, he will make your food into funny shapes and HE LOVES IT. You caused him to start following millions of mom's just so he can keep getting new shapes and ideas.
- Dazai is SO into doing funny voices when you two play together, just hand him a stuffie you want him to play and he's already going into a voice and acting out things.. No matter how dramatic. And no, he isn't embarrassed about getting caught. He'll just drag whoever caught you two into it, so congrats! You'll have another playing buddy!
- If you prefer coloring, he's happy to color right with you! He started using the agency's printer to print out coloring sheets for you, (It also gets on Kunikida's nerves, I mean he loves you too! Thinks you are adorable, but seriously- please Dazai the printer is for agency matters-) and will happily buy you whatever materials you need.. Including finger paint. He's so supportive when you're messy. "All the great artists have caused messes!!" He reassures you.
- But if you are a smaller regressor, or maybe a more calm/sleepy one, he's good at being just quiet enough but still excited enough. If you are tired, he'll carry you. It's comforting to have you rest your head against his chest while he walks around, it's nice to know you are close.
- It's even cuter if when tired, you talk or do sleepy babbles because Dazai literally just nods quietly and goes "Mhmm... Oh really? Wow!" He's trying to stay as quiet as he can, but internally he's cooing :( look at his sweet baby, so sleepy.
- Dazai loves being called 'Dada', I mean, he loves whatever his baby will call him but dada makes him feel all warm inside because yes!!! He is your dada!! It makes him feel even more happy about being able to take care of you.
- Calls you 'His little star' or the most common 'his baby', Usually adds 'his' instead of just baby. A bit possessive, but he adores you too much for someone else to take care of you. "My little star, how about we cuddle and go to sleep together hm? Dada is so tiredd~"

could i request tachihara with prompt 13 and 21? thankk youu, remember to stay hydrated <3
13 (“Keep looking at others and I will gift you their eyes.”) + 21 (“I don't regret any of the blood I have gotten on my hands, it's for you and only you!”)
this was supposed to go up on monday but the fear of mischaracterization was kicking my ass, sorry for the Tachihara stans that dont think my portrayal is accurate, i tried. i did try to mix up his hunting dog persona at the end, just in case if i missed the mark there.
also i finally got an A03 account in the running! eventually i'll post the event there as well. enough rambling, here you go.
WC 676 // valentines event open!! TWS, blood, threats,
Tumblr media
You wouldn't consider your boyfriend Tachihara to be necessarily violent. You'd more consider him busy, you don't exactly remember how you met him but you both are in the Port Mafia together. As of late you couldn't help but notice the more attention Tachihara put towards people who would talk to you. More focused on their words, eyes getting sharper with the more bond you and the other party have. He used to be slightly discourteous towards you until you both got to talking just a bit and he opened up. But him warming up to you suddenly doesn't mean he was any less teasing and insolent with you. Sometimes when his rebellious nature backfired on him you’d get a good giggle or two out while he would be stun locked before going back to the Tachihara you knew.
Then he got softer when you two were alone, you both got to know each other a little more, patching eachother up when missions were rough. Sometimes he would ditch out for plans you made, in a sudden rush then proceeded apologizing after, usually saying the boss needed something done last minute or he wouldn't clarify at all. You didn't mind this soft side of him, understanding how tiring it can be to hold up a big guy facade. When you two went out, he would always pay, at some points you were suspicious on how much money he had, you two got paid the same but you never asked. While you were a little stubborn, he was just a bit more stubborn than you could be, it was just a little fun at times during non serious arguments.
Yet you noticed the tension rise up in his frame whenever someone else was near. The glare that would gladly kill at the person who talked to you for even a few moments. If he was touching you, you’d certainly get a bruise the next day from him gripping down way too hard on your skin.
You did start to mention his behavior towards him in concern, but he always shrugged it off, saying the person did something personal towards him. Your hesitation was not unnoticed by Tachihara. There were certain days where it was worse, but again, he was probably just stressed. Until he started his threats when you were there in clear view. It really only got worse as the time continued and your tolerance and ignorance couldn't last forever. “Keep looking at others and I will gift you their eyes.”
That was your last thread, you started venting your frustrations more clearly and left. The person was only trying to get to know you more and yet they got threatened. This response from you wasn't taken lightly as you noted blood towards where you usually work at. The blood worsened when it led up to your specific work area. Your senses quickly flared up with boiling anxiety and being on guard, where the culprit was gasping away. There was Tachihara, covered in blood, the blood flowed gently down on his arms, the blood falling making quiet noises every time it hit the floor. As you’re taking in the sight with horrified eyes, the best you could do was step back while gripping your free arm with your wrist. Tachihara quickly noticed your presence and smiled casually, he tried to calm his breathing and straightened out his posture before unhurriedly walking over to you. “They put up a good fight but I finally got them, eyes are hard to carve out.”
All you could do was take a step back with disgusted eyes and tensed up muscles that started to hurt.
Even though words didn't have to say it, he didn't take your reaction lightly. “I don't regret any of the blood I have gotten on my hands, it's for you and only you. And I’m aware of what I did, but I hope you understand why I did this.”
The voice was calm, it wasn't the hot headedness tone Tachihara usually used, just eerie tranquility.

featuring — dazai osamu, edogawa ranpo, akutagawa ryunosuke, akagi angeline (oc)
summary — forced proximity headcanons.
warnings — bsd x oc: dazai x oc, ranpo x oc, ryunosuke x oc, forced proximity, slight sexual tension, outright smut in akutagawa’s, angeline is in her port mafia days in akutagawa’s (both are of age obviously), fluff, japanese honorifics used
notes from dazai’s star: forced proximity prompts were found in this pinterest post <3 also ignore the banner looking wonky </3 i tried my best. also osaline’s writing bit is loosely based off ‘angeline’ by chase atlantic (which is what her name is based off of) also uhhh ranpo’s was created by me

“i love you, osamu,” she uttered out, running her nails along his knuckles. he gulped. “but i understand if you don’t like me,” she quickly said. “angel-chan, i love you, but…just find someone to take my place. he might just have your sense of humor, he might just be as equally insane.”
her eyes widened. “no! osamu, i only want you,” she said frantically, grabbing onto his button-up.
osamu winced. he wasn’t the right fit for angeline, he thought. she needed someone who healthy but obsessed with her. she needed that kind of love.
dazai was more than capable of giving her that love, however. he just didn’t want to end up destroying her somehow. he wasn’t a perfect person, and he didn’t want that to affect her.
angel-chan kissed him like her life depended on it, soon leaving both of them breathless. leaning against his forehead, they both breathed heavily.
“osamu-san,” she said, getting on top of him. “i wanna be yours forever.” the pleading look in her eyes convinced osamu enough—if one of them goes down, then both of them go down together. they would be in this until the end.
“okay angel, i’m yours.”

angeline shivered at the cold room. “here, borrow my cape,” he offered, beginning to take it off. “no, i don’t want you to get cold—” “don’t worry about it, angel-chan,” he said, winking.
the flirty move made her flustered, looking down as her cheeks tinted pink. ranpo thought she looked adorable in his cape, almost wanting to see her in it more.
“you look cute,” he mentioned, smirking to himself. her cheeks grew redder. “thank you,” she said embarrassed. “no need to be embarrassed, sweetheart. i’m just telling the truth.”
“ranpo-san,” she muttered, leaning in. she kissed him and cupped his face. he guided her onto his lap and made out with her. they were both breathing heavily as they sloppily made out with each other.
angeline let out slight moans as ranpo trailed down and kissed her neck. their hands ran through each other’s hair, causing a mess in both their hairs.
“i hear footsteps,” she quickly gasped, swiftly pulling out of ranpo’s tight grasp. the door opened and kunikida and dazai appeared. the men’s eyes widened at their state—their lips puffy and hair messed up as they awkwardly stared at the ground.
“you’re both on the clock, you know! be more professional next time!” kunikida snapped, an angry expression on his face.

he wasn’t even paying attention to the meeting anymore, rubbing soft circles around her clothed clit.
she squeezed her eyes shut, grinding against his fingers. “so you’re into this, hmm? what a dirty little slut,” he whispered in her ear. “ ‘m, i’m not,” she whimpered, but her voice defeated her defensive words.
ryunosuke looked around, then pecking a kiss on her neck. “you’re such a tease, ryu-san,” she whispered, looking down with closed eyes. “but you like it though, i can feel how wet you are,” he cooed, pressing hard against her soaked panties.
he teased her the entire meeting, which was a couple hours. she held onto the promise he made of fucking her good later.
however, they were tasked with a mission together. but, they were both way too horny to get to it immediately.

To Hold the Sea | Ch. 5
main masterlist
series masterpost | previous chapter | next chapter
Synopsis: It’s been some time since you and Ango last met, in the meantime, you and Dazai have started to get used to living “underground” together.
warnings: drinking :p
Tumblr media
It’s been a week since you last saw Ango. You and Dazai have moved into a small apartment together to avoid any trouble with the Port Mafia for now. Your days have been characterized by an unrelenting, heavy feeling. The two of you sit around together mostly in silence; any conversation is centered around ‘What do we do next?’. That is, until Ango gives Dazai a call.
In some last-ditch effort to help the two of you get back onto your feet, he offers you the chance to talk with his boss, who will assist in getting you jobs. Your history will be erased as soon as possible. You both accept, and your days become a little less aimless.
When the day of the meeting finally arrives, you watch Dazai slip into his coat. There is a distinct, bittersweet feeling that fills you both when he turns around. You give him a simple smile,
“It looks good on you.” He bites the inside of his cheek, “I suppose it does.”
Dazai rejects the first job quickly, but you suppose you wouldn’t’ve wanted to work in the Special Division either, at least not for long. He gives you a meaningful look you don’t understand, but, for a second, you think he looks happy.
“Is there a place the both of us could work together, somewhere without a lot of regulations? Somewhere we can help people?”
Ango’s boss, who you now recognize as Taneda, looks a bit puzzled but gives it some thought. He pulls out his fan and leans closer to the table,  “There is an armed organization of gifted individuals.” He says lowly. He explains that the organization deals with cases in a legal grey area that civil workers have trouble dealing with. You breathe in deeply, looking at Dazai to gauge his reaction. He smiles- widely- and it takes you by surprise.
When you arrive back at your apartment, things seem to have taken a turn for the better, but bad habits die hard. Dazai has bought a surprising amount of liquor to keep here, and the two of you indulge. Time passes in a blur, and when you wake up, lying right next to him (passed out) on the couch, the sun sneaks in through the window. Dazai looks peaceful; you get up slowly and find a blanket to lie on him. You hope that the time you have to spend in hiding isn’t always like this, though. You know how unhealthy your habits are. You know just how self-destructive Dazai can be; he knows it too. When he wakes, he just watches you move around the apartment. You’re tidying it up as best you can, trying to make it feel like more of a home. He smiles again, but you don’t catch it. He moves to your CD player and puts on a nice instrumental album. You finally realize he’s awake when the music starts playing.
“Morning.” He chimes.
You look at him carefully, wondering if he feels as awful as you do; you’re surprised to see him start to dance.
“I see someone’s happy today.” You laugh, but it comes out like more of a question.
“I feel more… alive today.” He says thoughtfully. He walks over to where you’re sweeping dust and puts your broom to the side, slotting his hand in its place.
“What are you doing?”
“We’re dancing.”
With that, he takes your other hand and begins to step gracefully toward the middle of the room. You look at him and laugh.
“How do you have the energy for this right now?”
“We should buy some market lights, put them around the room.”
“Avoiding the question, Dazai, really?”
“Hmm, maybe we can paint the walls. What color should we try?” he looks around the room thoughtfully before you remind him that you’re both unemployed at the moment.
“What does that have to do with it? We have savings.”
You roll your eyes, and he considers that your answer. He lets one hand free and places it on the back of your head. He hugs you close to him as you two sway side to side.
“Dazai?” he doesn’t respond; he just twirls your hair and keeps you close.
note: sorry, this one's kinda short. It's very sweet tho :)

Re: Fun video games that (probably) won't fry your laptop. These are all on Steam.
-Factorio - Strategy/puzzle game about automating an enormous factory while siphoning natural resources from an infinite alien landscape. Highly moddable. Still receives occasional updates. Includes in-game tutorial, and peaceful mode if you don't want to fight the planet's giant cockroaches. Allegedly indirectly teaches you about software engineering.
-Killing Floor - Co-op first-person shooter survival horror. Work alone or with friends (difficulty scales with player count) to fend off waves of increasingly deadly mutants in locations ranging from West London to secret underground labs to Santa's workshop, before squaring off against their mad scientist creator. Already sequeled twice and receives no further updates (don't expect a huge player base), and many weapons (and cosmetic skins) are locked in DLCs.
-DEFCON - Real-time strategy about global thermonuclear war, inspired by the 1980s movie Wargames. Take control of one or more territories and try to eradicate as much of the population of up to fixe enemy territories while minimizing your own losses. Highly moddable, and often goes on sale for really cheap. Includes in-game tutorial. Was once the focus of an actual for real scientific study.
-DUSK - First-person episodic Boomer Shooter. Take on the role of Dusk Dude as he runs and guns his way through more than 30 levels of Pennsylvania backwoods, corrupted cityscapes, and places beyond the understanding of men. Fight your way through legions of cultists and nameless terrors, and finally, the cult's leader, Jakob. Somewhat moddable, and offers an arena-style multiplayer. Features a kickass thrash/industrial metal soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult. HD version also recently released (as a free add-on to the original game).
-Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - The third (and arguably best) iteration of the classic tactical stealth game, though almost totally separate from the stories of the first two. Play as Sam Fisher, a spy for the NSA as you use gadgets, cunning, and state-sponsored gymnastic skills to unravel the latest plot to push the world toward all-out war. Includes in-game video tutorials. Features co-op and versus modes (though I've never tried them).
-Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number - Top-down arcade-style mass murder simulator drenched in blood, neon colors, and '80s aesthetics. Play as a nameless protagonist (fan named "Jacket") receiving orders from mysterious phone calls, and bludgeon, slash, and shoot your way through buildings crawling with Russian Mafia, wearing rubber animal masks that give you different abilities. In the second game, the story expands as you play as several other characters in the aftermath of Jacket's actions, each with their own motivations, yet inexorably bound together. Features many synth-pop tracks from various artists, available on a neon magenta vinyl record. Go for the high score and show off to your friends how amazing and handsome you are at a critically-acclaimed indie game. Second game also comes with a short virtual comic book!
-FAItH: The Unholy Trinity - 8-bit style religious horror game with rotoscoped cutscenes, developed b Airdorf Games. Play as Fr. John Ward in 1987 Connecticut as your quest to right your wrongs and complete an interrupted exorcism spiral into madness and the true depths of the Satanic Panic of the 1980s. Features multiple endings, game modes, an arcade mode, and an in-game tutorial.
-Bloodrayne: Terminal Cut - A PC port of the cult-favorite third-person hack-and-slash. Play as Rayne, a dhampir hired by the mysterious Brimstone Society to handle situations too otherworldly or dangerous for mere humans; Which mostly involves slaughtering thousands of Nazis before they can get their hands on otherworldly artifacts. Includes a bunch of special codes that can be inputted to make the game easier, harder, or to activate "Juggy Mode." Game doesn't have any actual nudity but definitely enjoys its jiggle physics. One sequel (not as good IMO but also on Steam), a spinoff game, and also spawned at least 1 movie and some comic books IRL.
-CARRION - Metroidvania-style reverse horror game. Play as an unfathomable lump of runaway teeth, tentacles, and God-knows-what as you tear your way through Relith Labs, on a mission to escape and consume anyone who gets in your way. Evolve as the game progresses, growing larger and acquiring new abilities. Includes a small Christmas-themed free DLC that is essentially more of the same.
-Gone Home - Short, narrative-driven game about returning from Europe to your parents' new home, and discovering your sister is gone. Explore the house, discovering notes, clues, and secrets as a story of growing up and self-discovery unfolds. I don't want to spoil any of it, just take my word for it that it's a good game, and not violent or anything like other games on this list.
-Omen Exitio: Plague - Visual novel RPG where you take on the role of a doctor during an outbreak of a mysterious, deadly disease. Unravel the mystery bit by bit as you are hounded by madness and mysterious figures with ill intention, and make decisions that may alter the course of history.
-Hacknet - DOS-style programming game apparently inspired by hacking scenes in various movies. Delve into the world of professional hackers, complete jobs for clients, bypass security to break into servers, and discover the fate of your late benefactor, as his/her automated failsafe leads you toward the truth. "Labyrinths" DLC also available, and can be accessed and completed at any time before, during, or after the main game. In-game tutorial provided. Features an amazing techno soundtrack by various artists. Should not be confused with real-world cybersecurity activities - Those are much more difficult.
I have more, but this alone has taken me an hour to write. Let me know your thoughts.
Definitely been meaning to check out FAItH, and I've heard of Gone Home. If I remember what I saw in the trailer correctly, it sorta reminds me of that Edith Finch game.
As for that Plague game....do I get to actually be a plague doctor??????
