Hear me out: Imagine that Yuuji and Megumi finally get to first name basis, and after that Yuuji decides to change Megumi's contact name on his phone, but Yuuji hasn't ever seen how Megumi's name is written, and for some reason he writes it with the kanji for "love" instead of blessing (maybe becuse he subconsciously associates Megumi with love 👀)

And then, after Yuuji gets to see how Megumi's name is actually written he feels a little embarrassed but...doesn't change it, it's not a big deal, anyways, and he's already used to reading the kanji and knowing it's Megumi, he doesn't need to change it. Not changing it is a perfectly normal and platonic thing to do...right?

Can i just say guys, holy fucking macaroni, like. I know i say this a lot, but the reception for hunger au has been like NOTHING ive ever experienced before, and im so incredibly grateful for it. I bet Jesse got a little nervous and distant when he found out Demi had a kid and Demi assumed it was normal child aversion from potential partners but all Jesse can see is the eyes of Brock and the little boy from the crack house looking out from behind their hands. peek a boo.

he was really nervous when demi told him about baby and introduced her!! and a lot of it did come from his past experiences with children we see on the show and his persisting belief that he is the "bad guy", the source of poison that corrupts and kills the innocent. he blames himself for peekaboo kid's neglect, brock's poisoning, tomas and drew's deaths, and carries a huge amount of guilt concerning these events. he loves kids, but he can't be near them or else something bad will inevitably happen to them because he's inherently evil and toxic. jesse isnt so much distant as he is incredibly wary and cautious and hyper-critical of himself in every situation because he wants demi to know that he's totally okay with her raising a kid and just baby herself, but he also doesnt want to hurt baby. he loves her :( and he almost wishes that he didnt because maybe then he would be able to stay distant or just be content with never getting close to her. but jesse's emotional and when he loves, he loves Hard. he loves completely. so he walks on eggshells for so, so long because ur right that when he looks at her, he sees his past mistakes and all the other children he's hurt, and he honestly couldnt take harming another child. like that would totally break him. so it takes him a long time to see that baby is looking back at him with complete love and complete trust, is looking at him as a source of goodness, not evil. jesse has shown time and time again with his actions that he cares sincerely and deeply for kids, and baby gets the privilege of seeing that behavior without outside factors seeping in like toxins into clean well water. he sees himself as meth and lily of the valley; she seems him as marshmallow fluff and video game sessions.

I love the phrasing of "she can escape from her crib", like Dire Wolf has been trapped in an inhumane prison and has finally managed to dig out so she can wobble away on chubby toddler legs to mingle with all the wild animals near the house.

Foul Legacy's just... he's full of so much love and affection for you- even when he was still human, still Childe, he could never articulate the words to say just how much he adored you. the words would tangle, come out messy and confused, not nearly enough to tell you how deeply his love ran. so instead he'd just stare at you, ocean-blue eyes soft and sparkling with a light that only showed itself around you, a smile spread across his freckled cheeks

now, as Foul Legacy, he can't speak at all, and yet he loves you even more that before, if that's even possible

he tries- he really does! but words are hard with this new, strange mouth, instead coming out as squeaks and chirps, and you've said time and time again to not force himself to talk, since it hurts him so. Foul Legacy fumes silently, furious with himself- you're so kind to him, so gentle and sweet, and he can't even say that he loves you anymore. it's during one of these self-scoldings that you're brushing his hair, making sure there's not a single tangle while humming that song you always liked

you're happy and content, entirely at peace, and Foul Legacy feels his heart fill enough to burst

suddenly his claws catch your wrist, pulling your hand closer as he opens his mouth, then gently begins to nibble your fingers. for anyone else it'd be frightening, seeing an Abyssal beast bite down on their skin, but there's no malicious intent, merely Legacy nipping you ever so carefully. he looks like he's on the verge of tears when he brings your hand to his cheek, leaning and nuzzling against your palm like you're the only thing that keeps him from breaking, small whines slipping from his mouth every now and then. in return you press your hand to his face, fingers gently massaging at his temples as he scoots close enough to curl up against you, glimpsing the small, tender smile on your face

okay so this feels very soft, like it could totally be said by one of the characters near the end of the fic.

i'm getting a lot of pinkberry vibes from this title but it could for sure be a richjake fic.

anyway, it would for sure be about brooke and her dealing with her seemingly unrequited crush on chloe while watching chloe date a lot of different people over their high school years.

summary:

Brooke was fine watching her best friend date guys who were well below what she deserved. She was fine with it. It didn't matter that it almost killed her every time Chloe said goodbye to one of her boyfriends with a kiss and a whispered "i love you."

Until she isn't fine with it.
