the restaurant scene my god. that brief moment when mark shared a real laugh and a close moment with helena despite just meeting her and then recoiled in confusion and shook his head. his manner and the look in his eyes by the end of that interaction when he shoved down the inexplicable, split-second slip into easy companionship and looked at her like the destructive, dangerous stranger she is to him. the stark difference between omark and imark in that scene; down at lumon, mark was the naif, the child, the fumbling one; outside the severed floor, helena took that role. next to a regular adult she looks like the sheltered woman she is, deprived of all the usual experiences that shape a person; in so many ways, she herself is as much of an innie as helly is, but unlike helly who can evolve, helena will always be waking up on that table, over and over, no matter how much she tries to convince herself having memories makes her immune to an amorphous existence.

Hmmm just gonna spit this headcanon out in text post form since A. I don't think I could exposit it well enough in image form and B. It's not actually textually/thematically substantiated and I don't like actually staking my stuff on just vibes alone*

But anyway. I'd say it's pretty evident that all the islanders forgot their names, right? King obviously. Because why the hell else would he do that, but also Siffrin No Middle Names No Last Name.

They're 'pretty sure' they've 'always' been 'Just Siffrin' 'as long as they can remember'. It's a pretty cruel twist of the knife to say that they don't even get to keep their birth name as a memento, which is why I'm saying as such.

My utterly unsubstantiated claim is I think it'd be cute to say that Sisyphus *is* the name Siffrin initially picked, assuming the myth of King Sisyphus is recontextualised as idk, just a play or something in the setting. But I like the idea of Siffrin going 'oh shit 🫵 he's just like me fr' at a tortured fictional character long before the irony kicks in.

As for how Sisyphus -> Siffrin. I think that chronic mumbler and emotional doormat Sif just did not correct people who misheard the name during their time travelling, and went through enough places with incompatible phonologies (pronounceable sounds in the language) without ever really writing it down that it just got kinda. Changed until it was unrecognisable, and Siffrin just went with it until the earlier pronunciations slipped out of their swiss-cheese brain. And they just kinda don't remember any of that.

Also, something something the horrid realisation that Siffrin also named themselves after a King. Just not as blatantly.

*(though I think there's something here about Siffrin, a guy from a belief system that seems to thoroughly disincentivise autonomy and self-motivated choice continuously having their hand forced to make changes/choices they don't want but have no choice but to... It's not solid enough to really back this up tbh, but it informs it.)

I love imagining the most tragically evil characters with features that remind you they were once innocent.

Garmadon with dimples, and wrinkles around his eyes from how much he smiles.

Morro with wide innocent eyes and a resting face that looks like a clueless child.

Harumi with rosy pink cheeks and laugh lines.

Arin with bushy brows that furrowed when he was concentrated and glittering eyes every time he’s excited.

And Oni Lloyd with soft green eyes as the rest of him is morphed into a monster no one can recognise.

And its sad to think that during the phase of their life where they were at their worst, when hope was no longer an option and they had to hold their fate and morph it with their own hands, that you could only ever see the shadow of those features.

Yet, when they are given a hand to reach for and a chance to grow and a chance to be the person they really want to be, everyone ends up blinded by the glimmers of a fleeting past they no longer remember. So much stronger, as if the dust was being removed and masks were being broken.

Another Digimon often seen in Aurora's setting, Seadramon

These large aquatic serpents are another common inhabitants of the Digital World, and can be found in various bodies of water, from rivers and lakes to seas and oceans.

They're excellent swimmers, unsurprisingly, and can dive to impressive depths. A very noticeable feature all Seadramon possess is the metal helmet-like armor on their heads, which is a part of their body, something observed pretty often in many different Digimon species, where various metals and minerals grow naturally on them. The beak and fins of the helmet keep growing with age, and it loses its shine the older the serpent gets.

They also come in a variety of colors, though the most common ones are blues and greens with white undersides, and red tailfins and jaw markings. Purple, grey and white of various hues were observed, along with some minor differences in appearance, which is attributed to different habitats. There have been cases of Seadramon found with bioluminescence, those who seem to prefer living in caves or at greater depths - another trait of Digimon - fast evolving adaptation - compared to any life forms of Earth. They can breathe on land, but they're slow and somewhat clumsy, moving around with the help of their front flippers and powerful tails.

Seadramon, though not all, are known to be more dangerous and territorial than some other Digimon humans encountered, and are somewhat prone to attacking without asking questions first. Any smaller Digimon or animal, including humans, are potentially on the menu, as Seadramon are near-exclusive carnivores, though mostly hunt fish and other aquatic life forms. Digimon can be sought after as a source of pure energy, rather than food. They attack by strangling their opponents and dragging them underwater if they can drown, or breathing out a cone of frost and ice.

Despite this, several non-partnered ones are known to work on Earth, in the organization alongside humans and other Digimon, namely helping with marine biology research, human-Digimon tech development, and issues like climate change and pollution. Later on, as Digimon become more publicly known, they take on the roles of helping in cases of natural disasters, sinking ships, and also patrol of coastal lines in case of aquatic hostile Digimon appearance, as well.

To all the people in the fandom who forgot: Buck grown ass man who has no problems with asking people call him Buck not Evan if he wants them. He told 118 when he was super anxious about first day and they pranked him right before it, he told Maddie, he told HIS PARENTS. If I'm not mistaken he corrected A*by too. There is a lot of things that are facinating to me about cletho dynamic, but maybe the funniest thing to me is the progression of it all, because I remember Cleo saying that they didn't really interact a lot with Etho before Last life, so really most of the whole dynamic developed just in the last two years and it went through so much so fast.
