Special Surprise
Tumblr media
Summary: You plan a surprise party for Kate but in order for your plan to work you have to pretend to not plan anything for her.
Pairing: Kate Martin x Reader
Warnings: None just fluff
Today is Kate's birthday and since I’ve known her, I've always made a big deal of it even when we werent dating. However, today my plan is to make her think it’s the last of my priorities, when in reality I’ve been planning a party for her for the past two months. I have a career in event planning so I went all out to celebrate her special day. Her parents, siblings, and some close friends flew in last night and are staying in a hotel close by. I rented out a venue for us to have enough space for everyone, and were getting caterers and many other things.
 It's currently 7:30 and I have a lot to do today, so I quietly get out of bed and start getting ready for the day. As I'm finishing up the final touches of my makeup, I hear footsteps in the hallway signifying Kate is now awake. I take a deep breath and pray that I don't cave and screw my whole plan up by just telling her everything I have planned out of excitement. She knocks on the door and walks in immediately  wrapping her arms around my waist and snuggling her head into my neck. “Good morning birthday girl” I say, giving her a quick kiss on the head. She lifts her head saying good morning back to me, turning me around and giving me a kiss on the lips. “So what are your plans for the day?” I ask her, she gives me a confused look and I immediately know what she's about to say. “What do you mean, didn’t we plan to do our birthday brunch tradition like always” she asked, lifting an eyebrow. Kate and I have always gone out with each other for brunch on our birthdays just to have time with the two of us, but I have so much to do today I'm not going to be able to do it today so I'm hoping the party will make up for it.
“I'm sorry baby, I must’ve forgotten to tell you. I have a meeting today with my boss about an event coming up for a special client. I'm not going to be able to make it. "I say feeling guilty about bailing on the one thing I know she was looking forward to. “Oh, it’s okay we can do something later when we're both done, I have practice anyways so I probably should’t eat a bunch of food anyways.” she said trying to play off but failed to hide her clearly disappointed face. “ I promise I'll make it up to you, maybe we can go out after we both finish what we need to do today, but I really need to go. I'm already running late, i love you”  I give her a kiss and quickly start gathering my things to leave. Thankfully I didn't say anything about tonight's plans but her saddened expression almost broke my facade.
The first thing i have to do today is to go pick out an outfit for Kate to wear tonight so i make my way to the mall and go into a few stores before settling on an all red suit with a white top. I go to check out and run into Jada and Gabby “OMG hey guys, i wasn’t expecting to see you until tonight” i say bringing them into a hug “Hey! Yeah we had to get some last minute pieces for our outfits” Jada says hugging me back. “We’re really excited about tonight, it sounds like you have a lot planned out.” Gabby says with a wide smile. “I do, I feel bad about keeping it from Kate, but I know she's going to love it, especially seeing all of her family and friends.” I replied, “Do you need any help with anything, we don't have much planned for the day and we know youre going to be super busy.” Jada asked. “Yes, actually would you mind picking up the cake from the bakery on your way to the party. The table will already be set up so you can just ask the workers to bring the cake in because it's going to be a little heavy. "I ask “of course, just text one of us the address and we'll text you when we get it.” Gabby says “Thank you so much, I have to get going but I love you guys, I'll see you later.” I give them another hug and make my way back to my car.
After getting into the car I get a text message from Kate, it's a picture of her with a birthday girl tiara and button the A’ja got her. I heart the picture telling her she looks adorable before putting my phone on, continuing the errands that i need to do . After a couple of hours I finally finished setting everything up for the party, loving how the decorations turned out. I decided to do a casino themed party since it's our first year celebrating in Vegas. I got a few slot machines, a card table, all of the decorations were casino related, and there was a photo booth that I'm very excited to use tonight with kate. I make my way back home hoping Kate is home when I get there since it's getting closer to the start of the party. I told everyone to get there at 7 and we would get there at 7:30 to give everyone a chance to get there and mingle a little before Kate arrives. Once I get inside I see she still hasn't arrived so I go and hang up the new outfit I got her in the closet and start getting myself ready before she gets here. It's 5:30 and Kate has just arrived back home and I immediately greet her “Hi babe, how was practice?” I asked, walking up, noticing her looking me up and down. “It was good, you look nice” she says, grabbing my waist. “Well I did promise you that i would take you out for dinner tonight, now hurry go get ready your outfits hanging up in the closet.” I told her. “You got me a new outfit, babe you didn't have to do that, i have plenty of clothes.” she says. “I know but I felt bad about this morning so I decided I was going to go all out tonight to celebrate you, starting with making sure you look good.” I say pushing her towards our bedroom urging her to go get ready. She finished getting ready at the perfect time and we started heading to the party that she thinks is a dinner
We get to the car and she tells me that she’ll drive but I insist on driving for obvious reasons, excited to finally show her that my meeting about a “special client” was actually for her. “Oh shoot, I totally forgot I had to drop off some of the decorations for the party I have tomorrow, would you mind if I stopped at the venue before we went to dinner?” I ask her “Yeah that's fine, as long as I get you all to myself for the rest of the night” she says. I park the car and tell her to come inside with me. As we were walking I text Jada and tell her we just got to the venue so that she can let everyone know to get into position for the surprise. As we walk in I grab Kate's hand before opening the door revealing everyone. “SURPRISE” they all yell with smiles on their faces. “WHAT THE HELL” Kate yells looking over at me with a surprised look on her face. “I told you I promised I'd make it up to you” I said with a light laugh. Her parents approach us giving us hugs, giving us each a hug and telling me how much they love the decorations.
The night is a huge success. Kate kept on telling me how much she loves me and appreciated the party, but I would do anything for her so this was really nothing to me. We make our way over to the photo booth and talk for a little bit before stepping out to the party. “So when you said you had a meeting about a special client, did you mean me?” she says with a smirk on her face. “Yes, you are the most special person in my life” I say smiling up at her. “Well if I'm so special, why did you lie to me about your plans for today?” she asks sarcastically. “I didn’t lie, I just didn't tell you” I say laughing. “Well nonetheless, I love it, thank you so much babe.” she says, bringing me into a kiss. “Of course, you know I had to go full out for your first Vegas birthday.” I say. “Well if this is what you came up with for my birthday, i can't wait to see our wedding” she replies grabbing my hands. “Yeah this is going to be hard to top” I say before kissing her one more time before making our way back out to the party.
As the night comes to an end, everyone starts to say their goodbyes and tell me how much fun they had, which warmed my heart. I'm just glad that I was able to give my girlfriend the best day today. I make my way over to Kate who's talking to some of her teammates and join in on the conversation, which wasn't too long since it was getting late and they all were ready to hit the sack. “I had so much fun tonight,” Kate tells me, wrapping her arms around me, rocking side to side. “I'm glad you had fun but i have one more gift for you, but we have to go home for that” I say with a smirk. She looks at me confused before catching on to what I just said. She immediately grabs my hand dragging me out to the car eager to receive that last gift.

The gilded age 02x08, In Terms of Winning and Losing, my thoughts...
Please excuse any spelling errors. My brain is sleepy so its not working too well. 😰
I'm still having feelings over last night season 2 finale. We can't say they didn't pack the episode until it nearly burst that's for sure.
I'm going start at the end because it still tickles me that Aunt Ada is now head of the Van Rhijn household. (They went omg free fall everything ending, to oh wait we're fine. One oh the fastest turn around ever). Which will now be known as Fronte household. Thank you, Mr. Bannister for pointing it out. Because truthfully I was clueless as every body else until he asked Aunt Ada if it ok. Than it all clicked... Omg Aunt Ada is now the big cheese! The look on her face was brilliant! In that moment we seen her take her power, completely imbody it. We clearly see her mind calculating on all the changes she's going to make. It one exceptional piece of acting from Cynthia Nixon. She doesn't utter a word during it, it's all in facial expressions and her body movements. It's just as powerful. She's so very talented!
Look on Aunt Agnes face made giggle as she realizes the role in her own house have reversed on her. That her little sister is now in charge. I don't mean in unkind way whatsoever. The relationship and dynamics between these two sisters have been certain ways for most likely all their lives up to this point, but now Aunt Agnes is going to have to listen to Aunt Ada in way is never did before. I personally think it's going to good for the whole household. Aunt Ada is kind and compassionate that will benefit everyone in that household especially Aunt Agnes.
I did love When Aunt Ada ask Marian if finally broke off her engagement with Dashiell, because she know he wasn't right for her. Lol it was too brilliant. I love Aunt Ada so much!!
So yes finally Marian broke off her engagement to Dashiell!! I cheered when that happened!! It's like damn woman took you long enough. But after he called her by his dead wife's name, creepy that was the last straw. No one can blame the man for still being in love with his dead wife. We all know that heart doesn't work that way, just because their no longer here doesn't make our love just stop. It's ultimately more to what Marian said, that their not well matched, they don't want the same things and their not in love with each other. I'm just glad she found her back bone and got out before it was too late.
I'm personally so happy about that kiss bewteen Marian and Larry, I was yelling kiss, kiss, kiss the whole time! I think their well matched in every way. Larry definitely be ok with Marian teaching or anything else she wants to do. Now thanks to Aunt Ada she won't come penniless to the whole thing because we know Aunt Ada won't allow that!! I'll put odds on it! Only issue as we all know may be Bertha. Perhaps not though so much with Larry, she does like Marian. We'll see... I did like the little scene bewteen Marian and Frances. I felt quite a bit of empathy for Frances, she was just a little girl looking for a mom. I'm glad Marian was able to reassure for her that she will still be very much in her life just not as her step-mother.
I'm so happy for Jack that he got his patent approved. It was such a brilliant idea of Peggy's that he go talk to Larry about it. That Larry wants to go into business with Jack on his alarm clock. Love it. It was so amazing what happen then.
Peggy deciding to leave her job at The Globe was probably the only way to deal with her feelings for her boss
I'm sad for her because she was doing something she loved. But he was just too casual about the whole cheating on my wife no doubt done more times then Peggy would of ever found out about. She deserves so much better. This also showed that she as alot of self respect, self worth, and self confidence. To not only not fall for his bs, but to walk away when she clearly had feelings but knew it was a bad situation for her. Women now a days can learn alot from her. I was also nice to see perhaps the rift bewteen Peggy and her father may be softening. That her mother and father are getting back to loving terms with each other.
I was very sad to see Mr. Watson go but to know that he'll be part of his daughter and grand children lives makes it a happy going. I'm glad his daughter let her wishes known and kinda defy he husband by going to talk to her dad.
Now the opera war. I never thought Bertha wouldn't pull it off. There's just something about that woman that scream WIN. I'm not surprised she got the Duke back, because she something or someone Mrs. Astor doesn't that alone I knew would enough to turn the Duke back to her side. That is Gladys of course. Now am I ok that's a good chance that Bertha sold Gladys into marriage with the Duke no I'm not! I love Bertha I truly do. However her own ambition I feel is an issue, it's a blinding thing, it's all consuming, it power over everything. I fear what that will do to her in future. Ambition can be good until it takes complete control of a person. Because the need to win, to be number one, to defeat those against you makes you forget about who truly loves you. I don't want to see that be the path for Bertha. Because at her core I don't believe she's her ambition. If she was she wouldn't of done the nice gesture for Mrs. Bruce by giving her the tickets to opening night of Met. Bertha does show incredible care and kindness to her staff. Which is something I truly love about her. Always the way she is with the people she's made friends with. Unlike Mrs. Astor who treats everyone like they should be kissing her ass. Bertha genuinely nice, kind, sweet and funny. So I want to her ambition hurt the rest of her, hurt her life, completely destroy her relationship with her daughter, her son and her husband. Because her ambition isn't worth losing her family that loves her. Alright enough said on that. To good stuff.
Seeing Mrs. Astor lose was brilliant! She at more than half empty Academy still trying to pretend everything's fine...while a death rattle could heard in the background. I wanted to tell Aunt Agnes and Oscar to get the fuck out of there, go with Mrs. Fish, save yourselves!!
Turner fuming was hilarious and her husband being completely over it just made all the better. I got feelings he just wanted to say to her could just sit down and shut it already damn for some peace and quiet. All day and night it's Mrs. Russell this and Mrs. Russell that. Should never marry you fuck!
I loved both Bertha and Gladys gowns. The colors were beautiful. Especially like how the colors deep green pattern against lighter green of Bertha's made her stand out in her box at Met, couldn't miss her if you wanted too. Marian gown was very cool I really liked ruching by shoulders and neck. But I think my favorite gown belonged to Aurora, blue and white and sparkly it was gorgeous. That's one I would've wanted to wear.
I so did love seeing Bertha get her moment, she was floating on air there. Especially when she walk through the doors of her central box after nearly crying because George got back for her. To the whole of the Metropolitan filled. Although the boxes where bigger then I thought they be. All I could recall was when I watched The Age of Innocent because that begins at the opera, it's very much in a similar time frame as The Gilded Age. But I like the ones at the Met better, they can call over and talk to each other like friends do. It seems less stuffy and more social and fun. One of my favorite moments was when Bertha caught sight of Mrs. Bruce and Mr. Baudin and gives them a little wave, it was so cute and endearing.
Mrs. Bruce was very cute through out being at an opera house for the first time.
I'm so sad it's the final episode of the season. All I know is HBO better renew for 3rd season!! Because it's official my favorite series, I don't want it going anywhere for a long long time!!

1/18/2024
It was cold and then cold and wet and then warm and wet and then cold and wet again and then just cold.
Positive thing: I had pizza with friends after class.
We always choose the same pizza place because it's cheap and close by but I've gotten a bit attached to it as a hangout place too. We've been going after class every now and then for about a year now.
My day started off bumpy since I had to stay later after work because my coworker didn't get to her tasks. It would be one thing if she was struggling and genuinely seeking help with stuff, but there's been multiple times she'll interrupt me and say something along the lines of "hey, I really want to be able to get to my homework, so can you do this task for me?" I don't even care she does homework during work hours (I do the same thing, but only after I finish my work stuff) but don't push things onto other people just to suit your own needs. It's annoying to have my boss enable her too and make me and our other coworker do what she can't, although I get that these tasks are time-sensitive and need to be accurate so in the moment she doesn't have much of a choice. But still.
Class ended early at least. I think our professor doesn't really know what's going on because she reads the slides like she's never seen them before but it's fine honestly. I could use a break from classes that expect too much from us.
Oh yeah, at like 10:30pm one of the people from my prac texted and was like, do you want my last client? And I was like uhh. Sure? (I had an empty slot since one of mine canceled.) And she was like okay cool, I'm going to call people to get them to switch now :) and I'm thinking girl at 10:30 at night?? The clinic is closed. She went on to tell me she didn't think she was a good fit for the client and to tell me "ahead of time" that the client is dealing with trauma, which like, yeah duh okay. And she said the client would be "really good for experience" but she didn't want to work with a kid client and she "doesn't need the client hours" and all these other things.
I don't know, I didn't really like her tone about the whole situation. I kept thinking about how she must've really not wanted to work with this client because she's calling in the middle of the night to get her switched, and it's only been a day since she first met her. And I didn't like how she talked as though trying to sell them off to me just for "experience", or for "hours". This is the kind of tone I hear a lot in my counseling program, and I never know how to clearly define my discomfort with it - on one hand, I understand the thought process of if you can't give best services to someone you should give them to someone who can, but on the other, this is the part of your training in this field to learn how to help clients of all sorts. "Difficult" (I say this with very big air quotes) clients can't just get shuffled around forever. They deserve to have someone reach out to them too and say, I will help you.
I don't think my classmate was being hurtful on purpose or anything, and I can't fault anybody for wanting to work with their population of choice. It's just not the line of thinking I really agree with for myself. I see it more like, if you are entering a helping profession, you especially shouldn't be discriminatory with when and who you give your help to. Imagine being told you're too much of a niche case to be helped and then being shuttled along somewhere else, where you may or may not get rejected too. At least where we are in our training, I think it's best to exercise your empathy and stretch your skills as much as possible across as many diverse people as possible while we still have the safety net of our program to catch us if we mess up.
Anyways. I said I would be happy to see that client if she didn't want to. We'll see how that works out.

Meng shi: *having tea with A-Yao* A-Yao, darling, how's your harem going?
Yao: interesting. But fine, A-niang. I love them a lot
Meng Shi: *strokes head* marvelous.
But A-Yao, I feel like I should inspect the harem to see if everyone is treating you right!
You're my flesh and blood, the emperor of Hulijings, you also run the Jianghu. Hence you deserve the best treatment.
After all, I'm their mother-in-law.
Yao: *holds her hand affectionately* yes, yes you certainly are. Go ahead A-niang.
Meng shi: great. *kisses him on his forehead* don't worry Yao'er. I'll set then straight.
Well they aren't straight, aren't they. In other words, I'll deal with them.
Yao'er, where's your big bro? He will tell me who's bullying you.
Yao: A-niang, you don't need to ask Zish. *laughing* don't worry. Everything is fine.
Meng Shi: you can't hide anything from me, Yao'er. But that's Ok. I got this.
Yao: *smile*
Meng Shi: Sisi, can you announce to A-Yao's harem members that I'm visiting them tomorrow
And yes, mention that I'm coming over for tea.
Sisi: will do, Huanghou jiejie.
Yao: *sips tea* what will happen if they fail your evaluation and displeases you?
Meng shi: then they'll have to leave and rectify their mistake of mistreating you.
~~~~
At night, around 9:30 p.m.
Su she: *sleeping.*
*then wakes up when he felt a cold arm wrap around his waste*
Su she: *looks down* Xuanyu!!!!
Mo xuanyu: shhhh. It's ok to do this because I love Yao gege.
Xue yang: *hovering over him* little simp, why are you in bed so early. We were looking for you!
Su she: it's the old Lan curse.
I still feel sleepy around these times.
Mo xuanyu: poor you.
*sits up* team dimple, we have an urgent meeting.
Xue yang: our boss queen is drilling Jiggy's harem!
Mo xuanyu: *cries* what if we get eliminated!
And how can you sleep so soundly at night!
Su she: yes, I was worrying to, but then I said that we'll be fine. Huangdi loves us a lot.
Su she: I checked my Huangdi shrine then went to bed.
But remember, she's just like our A-Yao.
Mo xuanyu: that's true.
Xue yang: but we can't lose to Lan lips.
Su she: right
Mo xuanyu: what if she break up team dimple.
Xue yang: shanshan is right about her being a female Jiggy tho. I don't think she'll break us up.
Mo xuanyu: let's make an oath for Yao gege. That whoever remains, will continue to love him
Xue yang: *cuts himself* promise!!!
Mo xuanyu: *does the same* mhm.
Su she: for my huangdi, yes. *cuts himself*
~~~
Next day!
Su she: let's go meet our empress boss.
Mo xuanyu: yea.
Xue yang: so we can't make out with Jiggy before?
Mo xuanyu: it will tamper with the results.
Su she: yea, we should be on our best behavior.
Rusong: *confronting them with a notepad and a writing brush* hi team dimple.
Xue yang: Song'er?
Su she: can you help us?!
Rusong: sorry uncle Su, I can't help. And you have 9:30
Su she: 9:30?
Rusong: I'm Nainai's secretary for today.
Mo xuanyu: that's kinda cute, Dianxia.
Xue yang: how did you become her secretary.
Rusong: oh come on, who else would. And can A-Die do that? He's the emperor team D.
Now listen to the schedule *clears throat*
At 6, she has tea and takes a bath,
At 6:30 she has breakfast with A-Die and fam.
Drilling starts at 8:30
8: 30 is Lan Huan, 9:30 are you guys, 10:30 is Jiang Wanyin and 11:30 are the Nies.
So it's Lan, Dimple, Jiang and Nie in that order.
Su she: thanks a lot, Song'er.
Xue yang: at least you're cute.
Su she: where's Huangdi.
Rusong: imperial court meeting.
Do you think that he'll go on a Dongying vacation while his simps burn in Jing Manor.
He'll only do that to the Nies, remember.
Su she: ah you have a point.
Mo xuanyu: aww he's so sweet.
Xue yang: and super hot.
Rusong: anyways. Goodluck team D.
Byee!
Xue yang how much is your grandma paying you?
Rusong: nothing. Well yea she gave me some pocket money, but I don't want anything. I'll do anything if she asks.
Mo xuanyu: *hugs* you're such a sweetheart.
Rusong: thank you!! I got to go guys. I have to be neutral.
~~
Huan hall 📍
Xichen: *pours tea for Meng Shi* nice to have you over, Miss Meng.
Meng shi: thank you Lan gui fei.
Xichen: *chuckles* why are you so formal, call me Huan or Xichen.
Meng shi: you don't make the rules.
Xichen: yes Ma'am.
Meng Shi: *sips tea* ah. Did you make this?
Xichen: yep.
Meng Shi: refreshing.
Your guqin music is beautiful.
Xichen: aw thank you, Miss Meng.
And you're also excellent in the Qin. A-Yao truly learnt from the best.
Meng Shi: *smile* mhm. I taught him everything, and he learns from observance.
Xichen: really talented.
Meng shi: yes. So how much do you love my A-Yao. And what did you do to prove it?
Xichen: I love him a lot, Miss Meng.
I also saved him from Dage's wrath.
Meng Shi: very sweet. Now what did he do to my son?!
Xichen: at times he would get angry with A-Yao, which resorted to violence and. Don't worry, Dage is a nice person. He just has an anger issue.
Dage once pushed A-Yao down the stairs.
Xichen: but now they have a bitter sweet relationship. A-Yao loves to get on his nerves.
Meng shi: awww. As A-Yao should. My Yao'er needs entertainment.
Xichen: that's right.
Meng Shi: how dare he pushed my baby down the stairs!
Xichen: please, don't be upset. And A-Yao is safe with me.
Meng Shi: You're really well mannered. And care for Yao'er a lot.
Xichen: thank you, and yes I do.
Meng Shi: you're not icy and stoney right? Yao'er loves soft, loving, rebellious, sweet and funny people.
He has no room for some grumpy guy who thinks he's an ascetic.
Xichen: rest assured, Miss Meng, I'll make A-Yao happy, and I made him happy.
Meng shi: alright. I believe you. And i know your mom.
Xichen: yes.
Meng Shi: anything about Song'er? Our future Huangdi?
Xichen: I love Song'er a lot. And would care for him. I was his private tutor in the cloud recesses.
Meng shi: ah waw.
Very sweet of you.
Xichen: *smile*
Meng shi: well I must go. I got team dimple.
Xichen: thanks for coming over, Miss Meng. Please come again, to have some tea or chat.
Meng Shi: sure. Once I'm pleased with you.
Xichen: as you wish.
~~
Team dimple: *sitting and waiting*
Xue yang: should I offer her tongue tea?
Su she: no!!! Anyways xuanyu made the tea.
Mo xuanyu: yea. Here it is.
Xue yang: I made her some fried tofu.
Jiggy's face would light up when we give it to him.
Mo xuanyu: it's loved by hulijings.
Su she: I ordered some sweets for her cuz she looks like she has a sweet tooth.
Meng Shi: *entering* team dimple.
Su she: welcome. Have a seat, empress.
Meng shi: definitely.
Xue yang: would you like some tofu?
Meng Shi: awww, of course I do.
Mo xuanyu: make yourself comfortable and enjoy our presentation.
Meng shi: oh my!
Mo xuanyu: Jiggy is super hot.
Sms and xy: super hot.
Mo xuanyu: and we love A-Yao. We're his ride or die.
Meng shi: ah, I see. *eats*
Su she: I have a Yao shrine.
Xue yang: drew NSFW Jiggies more than once.
Mo xuanyu: we have a whole entire encyclopedia of Yao gege facts, habits and rituals. Along with a few fanfics.
Also we have sketches of his dimples cuz we love them. And surprise surprise, we're Team Dimple.
Xue yang: I will kill and defame for him.
Su she: I'll die for him and with him.
Mo xuanyu: if he rejects me then I won't have a reason to live.
Meng Shi: hey hey hey. You're team dimple, not the suicide squad. Anyways I'm moved by your love for Yao'er. You three are so adorable. Forever be team D, ok.
Team Dimple: thank you, empress!!!
Su she: *bows* we'll never let you down.
Xue yang: we love our hot boss! And I think he should take over the world.
Mo xuanyu: we never disappoint.
Meng shi: aww. Now tell me about A-Song. You guys can't just love my A-Yao and not take care of his son as well. Even though he's Dianxia.
Mo xuanyu: we have a really close bond.
Su she: yea, we spoil our little Dianxia.
Meng Shi: aww you call him little Dianxia too. Omg. That's adorable.
Xue yang: he's also mini boss Dianxia.
Meng shi: yes. He definitely is.
Keep shining team dimple
Mo xuanyu: sure we will. Thank you empress. And you look fab.
Meng Shi: thank you. My sweet team dimple, I got to go to lotus pier. *rolls eyes*
Xue yang: what happened to you, haha.
Meng Shi: Madam Yu is one of Madam Jin's goons, I mean friends.
I don't like them. But I'm sorry for Jiang cheng's parents tragic death though.
Let's just hope that Jiang cheng isn't like his mom. I can't handle that attitude.
Su she: he's a lot like her. But a good sect leader.
Meng shi: I see.
Anyways, I'm leaving now. Bye team D!
*exits*
Team Dimple: *jumping up and down with excitement.* yasss!!!! Yas yas!!!!
~
Lotus pier 📍.
Sisi: *helping her out of the caravan*
Meng Shi: *opens fan*
Jiang cheng: greetings Miss Meng.
Meng Shi: hi Jiang gui fei.

Jiang cheng: *sighs*
Meng Shi: so you're a cook? Do you cook for my A-Yao? He doesn't eat leftover food.
Jiang cheng: actually, I haven't cooked for him. And why would I?
Meng Shi: *gasps* omg. Gui fei, you should pamper Yao'er a little.
And you shouldn't be so rough and grumpy.
So you two raise Jinling together?
Jiang cheng: yea.
Meng Shi: delightful. But what about Song'er? What did you give to him?
Jiang cheng: nothing actually.....I rarely interact with him.
Meng Shi: that's bad.
Nonetheless, I'll forgive you....for now.
You need some work.
Jiang cheng: as you say, Miss Meng.
Meng Shi: and give something to Song'er.
Jiang cheng: sure.
Now tell me how am I supposed to pamper that diva son of yours.

Meng shi: certainly.

Qinghe 📍
Meng Shi: Nie gui fei, little Nie gui fei. *opens fan*
Mingjue: Meng Yao, why are you dressed as a woman! Are you here to harass me again.
Meng Shi: insolent!!
I'm A-Yao's mom!
Mingjue: oh my goodness!! Forgive me Huanghou!!

Huaisang: Meng Shi?? What are you doing here? Are you a ghost?
Meng Shi: do I look like a ghost.
Huaisang: I, I thought you were dead.
Mingjue: HUAISANG!!!!!
Meng Shi: do you want me dead?
That's treason. You can't just wish the death of an empress.
*sigh* children these days.
Mingjue: (she speaks just like that Meng Yao) Huaisang, behave.
Huaisang: sorry dage.
But how did you become an empress? I'm confused.
Meng Shi: well, for some reason my son is the emperor of Hulijings, and my successor. So it just......happened.
Huaisang: ah, that's cute.
Meng Shi: Nie gui fei!!
Both: which one, empress?
Meng shi: the one with the mustache.
Mingjue: yes empress.
Meng Shi: bend down.
Mingjue: *stoopes*
Meng shi: more.
Mingjue: mn.
Meng Shi: a little more. I'm not a tall person. Have you seen Yao'er.
Mingjue: makes sense. *stoopes more*
Meng Shi: *grabs his ear and twists it*
Mingjue: ouch ouch ouch ouch. Miss Meng!
Meng Shi: what did you say to my son?!!! He's the son of a what?!!
Mingjue: *shocked* he deserved it.
Meng Shi: ohhhh really! Just because he didn't agree with you, you pushed him down the stairs! What if I push you!
Mingjue: no no, you don't need to. And Yao is a menace.
Meng Shi: don't you have respect for me!
Mingjue: 100% empress.
Meng Shi: say it! Yao'er is the son of a what???
Mingjue: I'm not saying anything.
Meng shi: say it, darling. I don't bite!
Mingjue: I don't know what you're talking about!
Meng Shi: *flings*
Mingjue: *falls on the floor*
Huaisang: dage!!
Mingjue: how is she so strong?
Meng Shi: because I'm the goddess of Fox spirits!
Huaisang: huanghou, I know dage is hot headed at times but please forgive him.
Also we have a fox spirit infestation in Qinghe. Can you please help us
Meng Shi: why should I help?! You two have troubled their Huangdi, so they're right to invade you.
Mingjue: *sighs* you have a point. Would you like some tea?
Meng Shi: no thank you, Nies.
Your evaluation is over.
Huaisang: what's the result?
Meng Shi: I'll keep an eye on you two unruly Nies.

Chapter 15: Exchanging Bosses and Bodies
youtube
Summerween had passed exactly two weeks before. Things had moved slowly but steadily. Nothing significant had occurred. Stan kept working for the Shack, while Y/n was trapped in the portal room every evening until morning. No one questioned her erratic sleeping schedule, though Y/n appreciated it when Mabel made a plan and informed her ahead of time so she could adjust her time frame.
One morning, Stan was watching his favorite show with the kids, 'Cash Wheel' with his niece and nephew until Soos came and announced that they had a bus full of tourists coming in from different places. Stan made sure that the prices of each merchandise were tripled– no, quadrupled.
He even used Dipper as an attraction, having him dress in a wolf costume, who dances when people throw money at him. Mabel attempted to give one bumper sticker on the house until Stan chastised her for giving away something for free. Mabel told him to use his please and thank you, but Stan argued back that those words never earned him money.
The rest of the day, the employees of the Mystery Shack were ordered to paint the whole sign with pink glitter to attract more tourists before Stan went outside and saw Y/n by the vending machine.
"Oh, my- I thought you were someone else." Y/n jumped as she heard him by the door. She had just exited through the fake door and if someone saw her come out, their whole cover would be blown.
Stan rolled his eyes. "You're lucky the tourists were down at the museum or else you would have ruined everything. Now give me a Pitt Cola."
"Of course I peeked first before coming out. You think I'm an idiot?" Y/n elbowed the glass and the machine automatically spat out two cans of sodas. She took the two, tossed one to Stan, and they opened it at the same time.
Meanwhile, the four people standing on the roof in filthy clothes were now complaining about Stan being the worst boss ever. Soos also shared his own experience with Stan disagreeing with his idea of having a Mystery Shack mascot, which Mabel thought was where Stan crossed the line.
Stan entered after saying his goodbyes to the customers on his porch. When Mabel appeared behind him, he almost dropped the jar full of money. She followed him to his office, complaining that he had gone too far this time. "Did you seriously tell Soos not to follow his hopes and dreams because he 'couldn't handle it'?!"
The older man explained his way of bossing then around but Mabel was just not having it. "No way! I bet you'd make way more money being nice than being a big grumpy grump to everyone all the time!"
He was unimpressed all the same. "Ha! You think you know more about business than I do? You think you could wear this hat?"
Mabel accepted the challenge with glee, proclaiming that she can turn the situation around. Stan mocked her once more, claiming that he could make more money on vacation than Mabel could running the place.
"Then why don't you go on a vacation?"
Her proposition made him raise an eyebrow in interest. He rubbed his chin, thinking of a deal as he is a wagering man. "3 days. 72 hours. You run the Shack, and I'll go on vacation. If you make more money than me, then I guess it means you're right about the way I run my business."
Mabel stayed silent, contemplating his words.
"But if you lose, you- uh..." He picked up a random, dirty shirt from the floor and wrote 'LOSER' in marker. "You gotta wear this LOSER shirt all summer!"
She stared at the shirt in horror, imagining herself in the horrendous shirt, but she's not putting down a fight. "Fine! But if I win, I get to be the boss for the rest of the summer! Plus, you have to sing an apologizing song with lyrics by me! Mabel."
They had themselves a deal.
Stan changed his clothes before packing his belongings. He stuffed his suitcases into the trunk of his car. After closing it, he turned to face his niece. "See you in 72 hours! We'll see who makes more money." He entered his car, but before closing it, he threw his fez, which landed on Mabel's head.
But before he drove away, he returned his gaze to her. "Oh, and don't ask Y/n for help." He was gone before Mabel knew it.
An hour passed when Dipper knocked on Y/n's bedroom door. "Y/n? You there?"
She opened the door after a moment. "What's wrong?"
He shrugged. "Nothing's wrong, it's just that Mabel is calling us from Stan's office,"
"Why would she be–"
"She made a bet with Stan that she runs the Shack for 3 days while Stan is on vacation."
Y/n paused, averting her gaze. Stan? Outside? It was the first time he had been away from the Shack in 30 years. He deserved it because he's been working so hard. "Hm."
"So, are you coming?"
"Alright," she replied, "just give me a moment."
Dipper stood outside the closed door. He'd never been inside her room before and was curious about what it looked like. He never got a good look because the door was always shut.
Y/n walked out again after a full minute. "Okay, let's go."
On the way to Stan's office, they met Soos and Wendy who apparently were also called to meet 'Stan' but when they opened the door and stared at the large office chair, the old man was replaced by a young girl wearing an oversized suit with glasses.
Mabel had already sent a message to Stan that she has a different approach to business, as Y/n could tell. She has no idea how this will go, despite the numerous motivational posters hung on the wall and stickers attached to every tool.
The young boss informed everyone that Stan had gone on vacation and that they had made a bet that she would be the Mystery Shack's temporary show-runner.
So far, Mabel's shower of compliments and positive outlook have stood in stark contrast to Stan's nagging and demanding demeanor, which makes Y/n concerned. She's been in the Mystery Shack business for decades and is well-versed in its operations. She knew how to win over customers and how to attract tourists. She just hoped Mabel's temporary job wouldn't be too stressful.
All previous working conditions have been transformed into a relaxed, yet cooperative environment. Wendy's request to have friends at work was granted, Mabel had Soos' dream costume ready, and Dipper was dispatched to capture the next Shack's attraction.
Naturally, the boy was ecstatic, eager to discover anything that might exist in the journal. Y/n stood there watching as he practically jumped out the window.
"As for you, Y/n..." she heard Mabel say. She turned to the glasses-wearing tween. "How would you like to change the way you move around this establishment?"
Y/n didn't have an answer she could give to Mabel considering Stan really didn't give her a heavy load of work, but she didn't want to look like she wasn't interested with Mabel's changes around the Shack. "Well, if you want, Mabel, I can be your assistant around here. You know, in case things get hectic."
It was a sincere offer. With Stan gone, it was up to Y/n to take care of the Shack. She was a little concerned, but she knew they could handle it. What possibly could go wrong?
To put it mildly, the first 12 hours have been... okay. Mabel was wholeheartedly attempting to be a better boss, but nothing is truly better than before. The tour, led by Mabel and Y/n, was pleasant, and the tourists were satisfied, pouring money into the large jar.
Y/n smiled at Mabel's excited grin when she looked inside the jar filled with dollar bills.
"Guys! I caught something!" Dipper called as he arrived, pulling a large sack behind him. The creature inside was still thrashing around, groaning. "This is gonna blow those tourists away!" He laughed shakily as he couldn't contain his excitement, but it was cut short when the sack suddenly leaped and captured Dipper's arm with its mouth.
Dipper screamed, punching it repeatedly and it let go.
After praising his brother and giving a motivational speech to Soos who felt very unsure about the Questiony the Question Mark mascot, Mabel and Y/n walked inside the Shack and decided to check on the redhead.
"How's my favorite Wendy!" Mabel greeted cheerily but she was greeted back by a trashed gift shop.
Y/n felt frustrated, seeing the broken up merchandise and garbage lying everywhere as Wendy just stood there, doing nothing.
Lee and Nate were playing around with a shriveled goblin skull until the latter had the last kick that was unknowingly aimed at an innocent kid, hitting him directly into his face.
The kid cried aloud, sobbing as his mother frantically ran to him. "Billy, your face! It's ruined!"
Mabel dashed towards the woman while Y/n marched up to Wendy's friends, unafraid.
Unfortunately, they all - except for Wendy - got up and left without receiving much as a bicker from Y/n. She rolled her eyes, beginning to pick up the garbage and placing them on a nearby trash can.
The boss approached Wendy after handling the customer. "Wendy, you got a lot of cleaning up to do. Please?"
"Whoa," Wendy said, "all this rule stuff is starting to make you sound like Stan..."
Y/n stared at the older teen as she couldn't believe the incredulity of Wendy's dupe to make Mabel think that she's becoming like Stan, when she was completely aware that Mabel didn't ever want to be compared to the old man.
"What? No! I'm nothing like Stan!" Mabel hurriedly denied. "In fact, take the rest of the day off...?"
Wendy paused. "With full pay?"
Mabel didn't even hesitate, chuckling nervously. "Of course!"
The redhead gave her a thumbs up before sprinting out the door. Maybe this was her way of getting out of work, but she still took advantage of Mabel and that didn't sit right with Y/n. She shook her head as she felt that her respect for Wendy had decreased significantly.
Mabel was unnerving, even seemingly proud of herself for being such a nice boss. Y/n shook her head slightly. Oh, Mabel...
Dipper finally got the monster he captured inside the cage after nearly being killed. It was now time to show the creature to the two unsuspecting tourists. "Behold, part gremlin, part goblin..." he unveiled the cover, revealing the thrashing monster inside. "The Gremloblin!"
It was shaking the bars, groaning as spit flew everywhere. Alas, even when it spit out a real human skeleton arm, the couple easily dismissed the display as fake, referring to the body hair as strings.
Dipper tried to convince them, but they were more entertained with the other creatures. "Look at this, dear! The 'Six Pack O' Lope!'"
The man chuckled. "Wordplay!"
"No, everything else here is fake!" He pulled the two of them back to the caged monster. "This is a real paranormal beast! Hey! Fun fact about this little guy; if you look into its eyes, you can see your worst nightmare."
And looked into its eyes they did. It was also a fun little fact when its eyes glowed yellow and rendered the couple speechless. It was also quite hilarious when Dipper had to call for the ambulance because they were now permanently scarred, quivering and stammering.
"Thanks again for visiting!" Dipper bid the vehicle away, trying to appear optimistic but quickly abandoning the act when the ambulance was far away.
Mabel, on the other hand, was having a particularly bad day. She was feverishly running around the gift shop, assisting customers with everything. She was frantic as she helped the customers with everything they needed, completely unaware that she was messing things up.
Slumping on the back of the counter, she let out an exhausted sigh. Dipper plopped on the ground next to her. "Welp, I just made two people go insane. How about you?"
"I'm so tired," Mabel breathed, "I gave Wendy the day off so I had to do her job."
"Where's Y/n?"
"She wanted to excuse herself. I figured she was tired, so I let her take some rest..." the girl replied.
Dipper turned to her. "Well, maybe you need to start being a little bit tougher around here. And we need Y//n's help, why are you letting her slack off, too?"
"Being tougher is what Stan would do! No way!" Mabel immediately rejected, "And you know what he said before he left; do not ask Y/n for help."
"But we need all the help we can get!" Dipper argued. "I'm sure Stan didn't mean anything."
The other twin shrugged. "Let's just give her some space, maybe she really needed it. Meanwhile, I just need to think positive, be friendly, and everything will work out fine-""
Suddenly, a roar rang throughout the gift shop and the Gremloblin burst through the wall. Tourists screamed and ran out of the Shack as Mabel and Dipper hid behind the counter.
"What?!" Dipper exclaimed. "How did he get out of his locked cage?"
Mabel was guiltily fiddling with the sleeves of her sweater. "Well... I wanted to give him a 5-minute break so I taped the key on his cage! No big deal..."
"YOU GAVE HIM A BREAK?!"
"He's an employee...! Sort of..." she tried to reason.
He face-palmed, trying to devise a plan. "We gotta round him up. Where's Soos?"
"He was stressed out, so I told him to take a soothing nature walk," Mabel replied.
"Okay, we gotta call for Y/n, then."
"No! But what if she's asleep?"
Dipper's hands were shaking. "She should be awake from the noises right now! I need to go get her!"
The two managed to run out from the counter where the Gremloblin was near. They went through the Employees' Only door next to the broken up wall.
Before they could dash off, Y/n was running out from the hall. "Oh, my– what the heck happened?!"
"Y/n! Shush!" Dipper hissed, pulling her closer to them. They managed to evade the monster's sights. He tried to explain as quickly as possible. "Don't freak out. It was supposed to be a display for the museum, but Mabel accidentally let it out-"
"You captured a Gremloblin?!" Y/n exclaimed in whispers. "How did you even-"
"It doesn't matter," he quickly moved past it, despite being aware of the enraged look in her eyes. "We need to find a way to make it leave."
Mabel, having gotten a quick peek from the door, was pacing. "What do we do? He's awarding himself stickers that he didn't even earn!"
Y/n stared at the ground, knowing exactly what to do with the monster in order to sedate it. She recalled the first time they had an encounter with the Gremloblin, how F was there and that she and Ford saved him... Stupidly, Ford thought that in order to keep it calm, it needed-
"...'water'...'" Dipper was reading from the journal. Y/n's eyes widened when she saw that Mabel wasn't with them, only to be found outside with a glass of water in front of the Gremloblin. Oh, crap. She had to do a flashback that lasted for a whole minute.
"No, don't-!" Y/n tried to stop Mabel, but she already tossed the liquid onto the creature just as Dipper turned to the next page in the journal.
"... 'only as a last resort as water will make him much much scarier'! AH!" He closed the book in a panic. "Who writes sentences like that?!"
Apparently the author. Y/n scoffed internally.
Mabel managed to run away as the Gremloblin transformed into a scarier version of him.
Y/n glanced at the monster, trying to find a way to get on its back and sending a blow on its neck. She needed a distraction, but how?
The Gremloblin spent its hours playing with the knickknacks of the shop, including the Singing Salmon, which it has been pressing for hours now.
"Ugh, why doesn't he just leave?" Mabel said, exasperated.
All of a sudden, the monster seemed to be hungry, catching a whiff of the green dollar bills tucked inside the jar. It sat up and reached for the container, pouring the cash into its mouth.
"Our profits!" Mabel cried, not hesitating to run towards the beast.
"Mabel!" Y/n and Dipper shouted in unison.
"Stop, stop!" Mabel yelled as she flailed her arms, getting the attention of the Gremloblin. The monster grabbed her and lifted her up to its face.
Y/n cupped her hands on the side of her lips. "Mabel, whatever you do, don't look into his eye!"
"It's evil, Mabel!" Dipper shouted too. "You'll see your worst nightmare!"
Mabel was persistent, thrashing around in its grip. "I wish we had an evil eye to show him!" She said to the monster, unfortunately looking into its eyes. "Oh no!" Her eyes glowed yellow, and that made Y/n go forward and to the side of the monster, climbing up the logged walls of the gift shop until she reached a high shelf.
Dipper also had a plan of his own, having thought of the most logical way to beat a creature who has a pair of evil eyes. "Hey, monster!" he called, getting a random mirror off the ground. "Take a look at this!" He showed the reflective glass and it was sent to its own nightmares, making it drop Mabel.
Before the monster could thrash around more, though, it went unconscious when Y/n bashed something hard on the back of its neck. It was probably a stone golem version of Stan as a merchandise.
"Woah!" Dipper exclaimed as the Gremloblin crashed to the ground. "Y/n, that was... amazing! How did you know that?"
Y/n got off of the beast's back. "My mom made me do judo last summer," she quickly came up with an excuse, "and one of the lessons they taught me were pressure points."
"Well, good job, because then the Gremloblin wouldn't have dealt more damage to the Shack."
Suddenly, the Gremloblin woke up with a start, began running in circles before running towards the wall and flying away, but not before breaking off the tall totem pole and setting off a car alarm.
"Oh, boy." Dipper breathed.
"Guys! It's the third day!" Mabel said frantically. "We've only got 7 hours to earn back our profits, or I've got to wear that loser shirt all summer!"
Right at the hole where the monster just burst out of were Wendy and Soos. "Hey, guys!" The redhead greeted the three. "Am I nuts, or does this place look different?"
"Wendy, Soos! Am I glad to see you," Mabel exclaimed in relief. "We've got a lot of work to do, but if we hurry, we can still beat Stan!"
Wendy sheepishly rubbed the top of her hat. "Uh, yeah. I've got a little headache, so maybe I should, like, not work today."
"And I actually just met this pack of wolves, and I think they're gonna, like, raise me as one of their own, so I should really be at the den right now..." Soos followed with his own reason why he shouldn't work today.
"But-but..." Mabel helplessly stuttered, wearing a huge frown.
"But, hey, we'll see ya on Monday." Wendy and Soos didn't even notice Mabel's change in mood as they both walked away.
"Um, guys?" Y/n tried to butt in and explain that they would really need their help. I mean, did they even see the look of the Shack? How insensitive.
Mabel was twitching angrily, holding her purple pen so tightly that it broke in her hand. "ENOUGH!" Her scream was through the roof, stopping both Soos and Wendy from leaving. Dipper and Y/n gasped at her sudden change in tone. She walked to the back of the counter. "I have HAD IT! I fought a monster to save this business, and this is how you repay me?! I'm gonna get an ulcer from your lollygagging!"
Wendy raised an eyebrow. "Lollygagging?"
Soos followed. "Ulcer? You're acting... different."
"You shut your yaps!| Mabel shouted back, making the two gasp. "I've been doing everyone's job while you bums have been bleeding me dry!"
"B-but, I-"
"No buts except yours on the floor cleaning! Now quit loafing and get to work!"
"Yes, Mabel."
Mabel narrowed her eyes. "That's yes, BOSS!" She slammed her hand against the counter, making Stan's fez fall and land on her head. She looked in the nearby mirror and gasped when she saw who she looked like. "Dipper, what have I become?" She wondered aloud.
Dipper appeared beside her and laid a comforting pat on her back. "What you had to, Mabel. What you had to." He nodded.
"We've got 7 hours to turn this around!" She stood on the counter, holding up the money jar. "Let's go, people!"
And they were off to work. Soos had to contact a construction worker with an excavator to fix the totem pole. Wendy was sweeping the floors while Y/n was fixing the broken walls of the gift shop.
Mabel was yelling on the megaphone, still wearing the red fez. "Time is money, hard hat! You got complaints, file them with the complaint department!" She shouted, holding up a trash can. "Ugh, my back." She stretched with a groan.
Then, a tour bus pulled up on the yard, making Mabel yell angrily at her megaphone once more. "Dipper, we've got tourists at 9 o'clock!"
Dipper was in front of her. "But what do I show them? Real magic just freaks people out."
"Figure something out, knucklehead!"
After thinking of numerous ideas, he eventually came up with one. "Soos, c'mere!"
The two quickly came up with the idea of having Soos as one of the attractions, naming him 'The Horrible Giant Question Baby,' with Dipper even dressing up like a mini Mystery Man. Of course, the people were sold, pouring their money into the photographs and the gift shop. Concerning the shop, it was fortunate that it was repaired quickly and that Y/n knew where the other stocks of merchandise were hidden so that they could sell it.
Dipper waved goodbye to the tourists, who were all holding their own Mystery boxes. "We put the 'fun' in 'No Refunds'!" He walked back inside the Shack. "How'd we do?"
Mabel pridefully lifted the container. "We filled the whole jar!"
Everyone in the room cheered and hollered. Guess they had the chance to defeat Stan after all.
Y/n wasn't all that enthusiastic even after the results of today. All that jarful of money would all just go away once they calculated the expenses, then the damages...
Dipper brought out the printing calculator and began counting the bills. She pulled out the amount of cash they needed for the repairs as he was inputting the numbers into the device. They worked flawlessly, whilst the rest of the three watched. "Minus the money to replace all the furniture, supplies to fix the Shack. That leaves us..."
Mabel glanced at the lone buck sitting on the bottom of the jar. "One dollar..." she frowned.
The door was slammed open as Stan walked in with his suitcase and a digital clock that read 00:00. "Tick-tock! Time's up, kids!"
"Oh, no!"
Stan strode to the five of them by the counter. "Nice to see you learned how to dress while I was gone." He said, pointing at Dipper's Mystery Man outfit.
The boy glared at him in reply as Mabel asked, "How much did you beat us by?"
"I won three hundred thousand dollars!" The older man exclaimed. The twins gasped, while Y/n was looking around him for the money or the large check but it was nowhere to be found. Did he leave it in his car? "And then..." he trailed off, telling the story of how he had gotten to the final part of the game where he just needed to guess one more word.
Rich, the host of the show, had said the hint for the final word, "What is the six-letter word you use to ask for something politely? For example, 'May I blank have that'?" Stan had answered wrong the first time, and even when he was given another chance, he was unsurprisingly incorrect again because the word was-
"Please!" Mabel pointed at the sticker with a huge grin on her face, her braces shining.
Stan frowned in defeat. "Apparently that word can make you money."
Y/n couldn't help it. She burst out in laughter. The older man narrowed his eyes on her. "Really rubbing it in, Y/n," he grumbled.
Her laughter dissipated just as Dipper spoke. "So, wait. If you lost everything, then that means... Mabel, you won!" He turned to his sister.
They were overjoyed, but when Stan explained that part of their bet included Mabel becoming the new boss, everyone objected. Stan was perplexed, but Mabel admitted that trying to be boss was difficult. She handed him his fez, which she had been wearing for the entire afternoon. Her grunkle reapplied the hat as he drew the twins in for an embrace. "It's nice to be back, you know?" The three of them smiled.
"Okay, okay, that's enough, get off-a me!" Stan said, playfully pushing the twins away from him. He then turned to his other two employees with a calm smile, holding his hand together. "And Soos, Wendy... get to work!" He cleared his throat. "...please. Ugh, still hurts."
Y/n sighed and rolled her eyes. Stan had good intentions, he truly does, and he has such a kind heart. He just doesn't know how to express his feelings, though he does so through actions.
"Mabel, didn't your agreement say something about Stan having to do some kind of apology dance if he lost?" Dipper spoke after a moment.
Stan became hysterical. "N-no. No, it didn't!"
Mabel nodded with a malicious grin. "Actually, yeah, I think I have it in my notes here."
"No! That never happened!"
Wendy, having overheard the entire conversation, popped in with a laugh. "I'll get the camera!"
"Alright, let me just..." Stan dashed away from the three as far as he could. But he couldn't run away forever.
***
To say the least, the next few days have been eventful. Y/n had fallen back into the bottomless pit after Stan insisted on getting rid of his Mystery Shack suggestion papers despite the strong wind and storm that was approaching. She was now strung along with the twins and Soos, who attempted to save Stan, and they ended up telling stories for twenty one minutes.
The last time she was in the pit was with Ford and it was... an experience. She spent her minutes constantly thinking about her mentor and the feeling of knowing more about him. He tried to tell jokes, and each one was funny (she loved bad jokes), and she'd gotten to know more about him and his life before Gravity Falls.
They told stories with Stan, Dipper, Mabel, and Soos that were entertaining enough to last the entire twenty-one minutes of falling in the pit.
The following day was the hottest day of the summer. Y/n had no idea what 110 degrees hotter felt like because, obviously, she doesn't feel pain. She sat comfortably with her jacket on her study table in her room, while the others were suffering in heat, sweating profusely even with most of their clothes discarded, and laying on the ground.
She refused Stan's invitation to the newly opened pool because she wanted nothing more than silence while reading one of her favorite books. Fortunately, Stan didn't care about her opinion because all he wanted to do was go to the public pool and cool off. She was given command of the entire Shack, so she had the entire house to herself - and Waddles.
The very next day was completely normal. Mabel and Dipper were having fun with their new "Attic Stuff Mini-Golf" game. Their room was filled with props made from items found in the Shack, such as Dipper's old laundry "where man fears to tread," as Mabel put it.
Dipper had just sunken a Stan shot, and they were arguing about whether it was a legal play or not, when Mabel's Meow o'clock began to ring. She handed him her golf club. "Hey, Dipper, I gotta go hang out with Candy and Grenda tonight."
"Aw, again? You can't leave mid-game." Dipper frowned.
"Don't be silly, I'm not leaving," the other twin smiled. "My friends are coming to me!"
"Wait, what?!" The boy's eyes widened, dropping the clubs as he realized... "Oh, no. No no no. Sleeping bags? Rom-coms? Calling All Boys: Preteen Edition?!" He stepped back in fear. "You're not having a..."
The door opened behind him, and there stood Candy and Grenda grinning in the shadows. They jumped in, finishing Dipper's sentence. "Sleepover!"
Dipper screamed in horror that could be heard in the entire house.
The girls had arranged their cushions and pillows, as well as their snacks and essentials, together. They were talking about boys (as usual) when Mabel began screaming, followed by Candy and Grenda, who then began punching the wooden floor.
In the other half of the room, Dipper was losing his mind and hearing.
He tried asking the girls to do this somewhere other than their room because of the noise, but when they retaliated using makeovers, he decided that he shouldn't be here as he's pretty much outnumbered. So he took his pillow and blanket and began to tread through the hallways of the Shack, walking up to Soos who stood in front of a door that says "Break Room".
"Hey, Soos, can I sleep in your break room tonight?" He sighed.
Soos smiled, "Of course, dude." He opened the door to reveal a very cramped up closet with hazardous pipes and steam. When the handyman further explained how to fit inside, Dipper just walked away and found himself going near Y/n's room.
The thought of sleeping in the same room as her was awkward, but he had no choice. So, with all his strength and courage, he lifted his hand and knocked three times on the door. He waited with baited breath, but there was no response after a few seconds. He knocked again, louder and faster this time because he was getting worried about his actions.
It was silent again, making him sigh. Guess she was a heavy sleeper.
After a few minutes of searching for places to sleep in, he finally found the perfect place. He breathed out in relief. "Sleeping under the stars..." He could feel the cold grass under his vest, and the rubble under his pillow, but he couldn't care. "Not bad."
He momentarily closed his eyes, but not before he heard a growling sound. He sat up and saw a wolf biting on his leg. "Ah! Get off! Get away!" He tried to push away the creature, but then he looked up at the window of his room and saw Mabel, Grenda, and Candy jumping up and down, singing very loudly.
Dipper's gaze reverted to the wolf, who was still biting and shaking his ankle. "This is still better," he said, glaring, and laying down again as the wolf gnawed on his leg.
The morning arrived and that's where Mabel bid her friends goodbye and promised a next time. Dipper returned to his room, all beaten up with a black eye and twigs in his hair. He proceeded to lay on his bed. "Mabel, last night an owl tried to eat my tongue."
Mabel only laughed optimistically. "That's great!"
"No, it's not great!" He sat up on his bed. "This is impossible to live with!" He said, gesturing to their messy and wrecked room.
Mabel was trying to cheer him up, but Dipper had had it. He put his foot down and began laying down some ground rules. One of them was prohibiting sleepovers, in which Mabel argued back that he's keeping her up every night with his summer reading.
"Well, at least my braces don't whistle when I breathe."
"At least I wash my clothes once in a while."
"Washing clothes is a waste of time, I'm a busy guy!"
"Meow meow meow meow meow!"
Dipper glared. "Alright, if you meow one more time-!"
"Meow meow meow!"
"Okay! That's it! That's the final straw!" He walked around. "Maybe we shouldn't share a room anymore!"
Mabel was taken aback, lost for words. "Wah, uh... well, maybe we shouldn't!"
"Fine by me!"
"Double fine by me!"
Dipper raised an eyebrow. "Then we need to talk to Grunkle Stan about moving rooms."
After preparing for the day with deep frowns on their faces, the twins ran to the living room where Stan was watching fights on his TV. "Grunkle Stan, we want different rooms!" Dipper demanded.
Stan laughed mockingly. "And I want a pair of magic money pants. It's not gonna happen."
"Magic money pants...?" Mabel questioned under her breath.
"Come on, Grunkle Stan. Can't we work something out?" Dipper begged.
Stan smirked. "Look, kid, there's my room and the attic. That's it."
Dipper's eyes seemed to light up as he came up with an idea. "What about Y/n's room?"
The suggestion wiped the smirk away from the older man's face as he had gotten hesitant. "Eh, I'm not sure she would want that."
"We haven't even seen her room yet, Grunkle Stan!" Mabel agreed to the idea, now feeling excited.
Stan remained silent. He didn't know what to say, but he also didn't want more silence to pass for the kids to suspect that Y/n was hiding something, which Y/n and Stan both didn't want to happen.
While all of this was going on in the living room, Y/n had been cooped up in her bedroom all morning. She had just returned from working underground all night, and she should have been sleeping, but she didn't feel sleepy at all. She suddenly felt reminiscent. She was pacing around her room aimlessly, attempting to fall asleep but failing miserably. She couldn't help herself.
She really missed him.
When was the last time they experimented for fun? Coming up with novel inventions? She took a look at the old calendar on her bedside table. 1982 was in front of it because she never ripped it off or moved it. It was simply there. She had no idea why it was still hanging there, perhaps as a painful reminder that he had been gone for 30 years and that she just liked to torture herself, or perhaps as a motivation that they should keep going or all of this would be for naught.
She began a small quest to look for experiments that she kept in her storage with a small smile, which didn't take long because it was a striking blue that immediately caught her eye. It was rolled up and tucked into a corner. She effortlessly lifted the dusty material and placed it on the ground. She grabbed the end of it and lifted it up as if dusting it, revealing good 'ol Experiment 78.
She was giggling with delight as she noticed the familiar yellow loop in the center of the design. It was laid out on the ground as she felt the material. Very shaggy. She couldn't help but laugh as she started rolling around on the carpet, feeling the electrons on her skin. She was creating carpet angels when she heard a knock on the door all of a sudden.
Opening the door slightly with a creak, Stan was on the other side with Dipper and Mabel. Immediately, she looked up at the older man's eyes that were staring down at her. "Yes?"
"They want to share rooms with you."
Y/n couldn't form a proper response. "Uh..." she then looked across to see the twins who were waiting for their answer. Just what happened that made them decide to switch rooms? "Sure." She opened the door wider for everyone to see. Stan rarely comes here, while it was the siblings' first time seeing everything.
They began listing off things that they could see about her room. "Woah, this is just as big as the one in the attic!" "You have your own toilet?!" "A study table! I would love to read here!"
While they were being excited about her room, Y/n stood beside an unimpressed Stan as she glanced at the rug that they were stepping on. She couldn't help but be worried. "Okaaay, that's enough ogling. What's going on?" She stared up at Stan.
"Well these bozos just randomly come to me demanding that they want separate rooms, don't cha, kids?" The older man said, placing his hands on his hips.
"Yeah, and in my opinion, I should be the one sharing the room with Y/n," Mabel spoke, pointing at herself. "Me and Y/n can bond over girly stuff and actually have fun. She'll have the funnest roommate ever!"
Dipper glared. "Yeah, well, I know that Y/n wouldn't wake up to my night reading because she's a heavy sleeper!"
"Wait, how did you know that?" Y/n chimed in.
He was suddenly flustered, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. "I was knocking on your door last night, and you didn't answer so I figured you were fast asleep..."
Y/n's eyes widened. "Oh, you were?" She composed herself. She couldn't admit that she wasn't actually in her room last night, and that she was working hard in the portal room downstairs. "I... I'm sorry, I didn't hear you..."
"That's alright," Dipper easily dismissed it. "It's perfect! I can be your perfect roommate!"
"Wait a second," Stan began, walking between both Dipper and Mabel. "So you both want to be Y/n's roommate, huh? Because I own this Shack and specifically, this room, I'll be the one who decides who gets the other half depending on whom I like more." He said so confidently even without asking for Y/n's opinion.
Stan looked around the room until his gaze fell on a random dream catcher hanging on the back of her door. He snatched the item off of the wood that made Y/n yell out in protest. "Hey, put that down! What are you gonna do with that?"
"This is just gonna act like some sort of key. Whoever got this dream catcher in the end gets to be your roommate," Stan easily answered.
"I'm not agreeing to this!"
"Come on, Y/n, how are we supposed to figure out who gets to share the room with ya?" He asked before bending down and pulling his shoelaces loose. "Uh oh, looks like my shoes untied!"
The twins looked at each other for a second before scrambling to the ground and trying to tie Stan's shoe. Stan cackled maniacally. "To the kitchen!"
He ran out of Y/n's room and Dipper and Mabel got up to follow him out the exit.
Y/n was rendered speechless. She didn't know what the heck just happened in the last ten minutes. All she knew was that she had to hide some of her personal belongings from the twins if either of them decided to stay here. While doing so, she tried to figure out Stan's plan without having to ask him directly. Is he doing this for the journal? How will this even go?
And why did the twins even want separate rooms now, anyway? What happened that made them want to do this?
Her beeping watch interrupted her brewing thoughts. She groaned, knowing what she had to do. Glancing quickly around her room, she thought that she had hidden what she needed to hide before leaving her room to tend to the portal. Her watch does the reminder for portal duties during the day.
While walking down the hall and tip-toeing around the gift shop, she kept thinking about her room. She didn't forget anything, did she?
Stan's watch was beeping too, but he quickly turned it off, focusing on his great niece and nephew instead who were busy mowing the lawn in such heat. "Dipper, you're phoning it in!" He called out before drinking lemonade.
They were eventually done with that one chore and they all went inside. "Grunkle Stan, can I go to Y/n's room? I need a little break."
He was aware that Y/n could be downstairs already, meaning that her room would be completely empty. "Sure, but she's not gonna be there."
"Oh? Where is she?"
"She's out, I made her fetch the laundry," Stan quickly came up with an excuse that the twins didn't even question.
Mabel was out and about in the kitchen, throwing in eggs in the pan and garnishes she could find in the cupboards. She wasn't saying anything as she was clearly busy.
"Hey, Dipper, before you go, I need you to fix the door hinges by the toilet. Go get the toolbox on one of those closets on the way." Stan instructed, making Dipper roll his eyes discreetly. "What was that?" Stan still caught it.
"Nothing, nothing!"
"Want me to deduct your suck-up points? You're already at a negative, you know."
"What! No, no, no! I'll do it, I'll do it. Just don't deduct my points!" Dipper begged before walking away towards the hall that leads to the toilet.
It was a fairly quick job, but not for Dipper apparently. For starters, he's too short to reach the top hinges so he had to find a stool. But the tightening part was done quite swiftly. Dipper didn't waste anymore time and made his way to Y/n's room.
Luckily, it was unlocked. It's alright to come inside her room, right? She's not home, and it'll be his room as well eventually, so it's okay, right?
He opened the door and sighed. "I mean, all these chores will be worth it. She even has shag carpeting. Nice." He removed his shoes and began shuffling his sock feet on the carpet as electricity built up around his legs.
Mabel's voice cut off his lounging moment. "Hey, brother. Don't get too comfortable. I just made Stan an omelet shaped like his own face.
Dipper stood up and began pacing around Mabel, building up more electricity.
"Face it. I'm like a suck-up ninja. Half of Y/n's room is as good as mine, and we'll be the best roomies! You might as well give up now. What do you say?" Mabel said, stretching out her hand.
He narrowed his eyes on her. "I say I'm gonna be Y/n's roommate somehow, and when I do, I wouldn't ever have to worry about any of your sleepovers, and we'll never have to share anything ever again!"
Dipper slapped Mabel's hand away, electrocuting her and causing a massive glow between them that knocked them both out.
The girl sat up first, rubbing her head. "Ugh, what happened?"
"Dipper?" The boy said. "Why are you wearing my clothes... and my..." he began to feel his skin. "...face! Am I in your body?"
"Am I in your body?!"
The two began screaming in unison. Mabel in Dipper's body ran to the toilet and threw up while Dipper in Mabel's body was having a meltdown.
After a few moments, Dipper and Mabel stared at their new, swapped bodies in Y/n's tri-fold mirror, pointing out weird things about each other now that they were in each other's bodies. "Great. Just what we need, more Gravity Falls weirdness."
"This is stupid!" Mabel exclaimed. "Sharing a room was bad enough, now we're sharing bodies?"
Dabel (in Mabel's body) walked over to the edge of the carpet and took a look at the tag. "Hey, look. 'Experiment 78'." He flipped the tag over and the back said 'Electron Carpet'. "Electron Carpet. Atoms can swap electrons. This carpet can swap electrons. It must build up a static charge so powerful it can swap minds!"
"But why does Y/n have this?" Mabel asked.
"I have no idea. W-we need to change back and tell Y/n about this."
Mipper (Mabel in Dipper's body) sighed in relief. "Phew! Glad I'm switching back. If I was you I would totally lose the contest."
"And if I was you, which I am, I could sabotage myself! Then Mabel would lose her points and the room would go to Dipper!"
"Wait what?!"
"Oh, Stan!" Dabel yelled out. "I've always hated you!" He chuckled evilly. "See who gives the room to now." He ran out of the room.
Mipper began to chase him but tripped on her feet. "Tie your shoes!"
The two attempted to say and do things that would almost certainly result in them losing points. Dabel poured cereal out of the box everywhere and laughed obnoxiously as Mipper kicked the oven and bottles around. Stan, clearly perplexed, walked out of the kitchen, followed by the twins, who demanded that the points be removed.
Back in Y/n's room, Soos was chasing down Waddles who unknowingly went inside her room because the door was wide open. It was also the handyman's first time seeing the girl's room, while Waddles didn't care as he rolled around in the carpet, loving the way it felt. "Aw Waddles," He cooed, "Nobody thinks it's cute when I lie naked on the living room floor." He began rubbing the pig's head. "I wish I could be a pig."
And, lo and behold, his wish had been granted by the electron carpet, and their bodies were swapped in a snap.
Meanwhile, Dabel was running through the hallway. "Grunkle Stan, come back! I have more terrible things to do!" He turned around. "You're toast, Mabel!" He began to sprint off, only to crash into Grenda.
"There you are, Mabel!" She exclaimed.
"Attack her with love!" Candy followed, hugging Dabel and Grenda close. The two - with Dabel embraced tightly, jumped in unison. "Sleepover!"
"What?!" Dabel thrashed. "No! No, no, no!" He screamed as he was carried up the stairs while Mipper tried to run after them.
Grenda and Candy ran into the twins' room.
"Wait, come back!" Mipper shouted. "Hey, um," she faced Grenda by the door, "can I talk to my... sister, for a sec?"
"This is a sleepover, buddy. No boys allowed!" Grenda emphasized before slamming the door in her face.
Mipper crouched down and peered through the keyhole to see Dabel unsure about the entire situation. Grenda and Candy were giggling and gushing over Grenda's mother's age inappropriate romance novels, which she had brought with her. She had just learned about the book's protagonist, Gerard the werewolf, when someone approached her.
"What's going on, Dipper?"
She gasped and tried to cover the keyhole where she was looking in. Stan glanced at the door and he had the idea on what Mipper was up to. "Ah, you're at that creepy age where you spy on girls, huh? Guess it's time you and I had a man to man talk. About the birds and the bees, you know?"
Mipper frowned deeply as Stan led her to his office. He shuffled around the room until he found just the ideal book for the topic. 'Why Am I Sweaty?' was the book's title.
While all of this was happening above, underground, Y/n was stressing out about the portal. She sighed and leaned back in her chair, staring at the control panel in front of her. Why does she have to keep the portal stable when it's not even running?
They actually needed the three journals as a blueprint for the inter-dimensional portal to work, but they only had one in their possession. Wait a minute, the third one was nearby; they just didn't have the perfect opportunity to grab it.
She shifted her gaze to the journal, which she opened to a specific page. Since when has she been staring at this section of the blueprint? She's been staring at it for three whole decades and it's already imprinted in her mind.
Shaking her head, she stood up. That's enough inquisition for the day. She glanced at the control panel again, giving it a hard punch. Her knuckles slammed against the metal but it didn't hurt one bit. She smacked it in hopes of a functional portal, but alas, no change.
Y/n rode the elevator quietly, walked up the path to the vending machine and took a peek through the glass display. The gift shop seemed to be vacant – even Wendy was out, signaling that the coast was clear. As quickly as possible, she opened the machine and lurked her way out, not forgetting to get herself a can of Pitt Cola to make it look like she was just getting herself a drink and not someone who just got out of a secret door.
Opening the can, she took a sip and exhaled in relief. The drink was always a nice one. She turned around casually and she just realized the chaotic mess of the gift shop. It looked like someone made a breakdown and destroyed everything in their path. The banners were chewed, the signboards were broken in half, and the glass jars were shattered on the ground. Who could have done this?
She heard multiple voices coming from down hall. It sounded like it was coming from her bedroom. She sprinted across, finally arriving at her room just as Dipper and Mabel were dashing out with the dreamcatcher on the boy's hand.
"Dipper, give it back!" Mabel screamed, chasing after him.
Y/n stood there, staring at the numerous unwanted visitors inside her room. She was too afraid to step inside. Clearly, their bodies have been swapped because of their personality changes.
This was her fault and all she blamed was herself for bringing the carpet out again, but she couldn't help but feel mad for the people uninvited who were screaming and laughing from the body switching shenanigan.
"Everybody, stop!" She screamed, and it was silent. "Why are you in my room?!"
Everyone looked at her, speechless as if they were caught red-handed.
"Please, don't move. I demand you all to form a circle, and shuffle your feet against the carpet," she urged them, and thankfully, they granted her request.
Eventually, each one of them had returned to their own bodies and Y/n immediately ushered them outside, one by one.
Once they were out, she was pulling her hair in frustration. What a mess.
While she was cleaning her cluttered room, the twins eventually returned from what seemed to be their feud. They stood from outside of her room, and because the door was opened, Y/n just let the two in.
She resumed her cleaning while the twins were watching her from the door.
"Hey, Y/n, I'm sorry we got inside your room without your permission," Dipper began.
"It's fine," Y/n answered without even looking at him. She was trying to focus on reorganizing the stuff on the shelf.
He stepped forward. "But, I wanted to ask you about the carpet. It was an electron carpet that can swap... well, our electrons."
Y/n almost smiled as she stopped her movements momentarily at Dipper's inquiry. The experiment still works.
Dipper paused in his speech. How does he even ask the question without making her feel bad? "Where... How... Why...?" He stuttered out. That was pathetic.
Finally, Y/n turned around. "I bought it at a yard sale; I didn't expect it to be like that!" Another lie. She couldn't decide whether she should feel bad or proud of herself for thinking of that excuse so quickly.
Before the twins could utter anything in response, she decided to change the subject. "So, who won the uh... contest?"
"Dipper won, but now I understand and won't argue about it anymore," Mabel said with a kind smile as she looked over her brother.
Y/n shrugged. "Alright."
Everyone helped with the moving, but it was mainly his bed. His clothes had a special shelf from one of Y/n's drawers. The room was parted in half, just like the attic used to be. The electron carpet was long gone. Dipper thought it was already thrown out, but it was hidden under her bed.
"Well, this is it," Y/n said, looking at Dipper who was adjusting the mattress. "We can share the study table, but, uh... is it okay if I use my toilet?"
"Uh huh. Sure..." Dipper trailed off, looking down at his pillow. He moved ever so slowly, and she had a feeling he was adorning a frown.
"What's wrong?"
He let out a sigh before turning around and sitting on the edge of his bed. "Nothing, it's..."
"It's what?"
"I thought it would feel more liberating having separated from Mabel, but I had no idea it would be..."
"Would be...?"
"Lonely," he said.
She stared at a random wall, fiddling with her hands. "I'm sorry," seemed like the right thing to say at the moment.
"No, no, don't be," Dipper quickly replied, "It's fine. It's the first time we didn't sleep in the same room, and..."
"Dude, you need to stop letting me finish your sentences."
"I already miss Mabel."
Y/n sat awkwardly on her bed, her interlocked fingers placed on her lap. She didn't like the silence this time as she could practically feel Dipper's depression resonate through the room. "Well," she started slowly, "we could always have a little sleepover?"
A small smile appeared on his face. "I can't believe I would say this but a sleepover sounds like a good idea." He looked at her with hopeful eyes. "Wanna come?"
"Oh," she jumped. "I- I figured this could be between you and your sister...?"
Dipper rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on, you've never been in a sleepover?"
With a solemn smile, she averted her gaze. It was almost comical how she didn't have time for sleepovers or other activities that most kids do. Consciously, she rubbed her baggy eyes. Her exhaustion had only recently caught up with her, and she realized she'd spent the previous thirty years underground. She was extremely fortunate to be unable to feel pain and to heal quickly, or she would have honestly died by now.
He was taken aback by her silence, which made him look at her slightly sad. He got out of bed after grabbing his pillow and did the most spontaneous thing of his day, if not his life. He approached Y/n as she looked at him expectantly.
"What are you doing?"
Dipper grabbed her hand and yanked her off her bed before leading her out of the room. "All right, come on." He was holding her hand in the one hand while still gripping the pillow on the other.
"What?"
"We're doing a sleepover... right now." Dipper smiled at her. Thankfully, Y/n let him lead her upstairs to the attic.
The boy dropped her hand before knocking on the door and a few seconds later, Mabel answered, opening it just a bit so she could only see him.
"Hey, you wanna have a sleepover?" Dipper asked sheepishly.
Mabel glanced at the pillow under his arm and smiled widely.
"Oh, and I brought a friend," he smiled and pushed the door open, allowing Mabel to see Y/n, who was waving shyly.
Her grin widened even more when she saw the two of them and immediately drew them inside. Mabel picked up her mini golf club before giving a spare one to Y/n. "Fore!" She shouted, striking a synthetic eyeball. "Let's play Attic Stuff Mini-Golf!"
Y/n let a smile stretch her lips. "How do you play?"
"Just hit the ball and we'll score the points depending on how awesome it goes!" She explained.
Dipper smiled and encouraged her, placing the eyeball on the ground by Y/n's shoes.
"Okay..." Y/n trailed off, allowing her golf club to kiss the ball for a brief moment before swinging back and swatting the ball too hard, causing it to bounce on various walls and surfaces until it crashed through the window and fell on Stan's head.
"Ah! Why am I even out here at night?!"
Their laughs filled the entire attic as they had fun for the rest of the night until they eventually passed out on the floor, cuddled together.

he would have liked so much to be richer. more charismatic, more eloquent when he had to speak in front of his colleagues. he would have liked to be worshipped like his best friend shoto todoroki who had everything to please. money, beauty, high social network. and the daughter of his rich boss. you.
you were so elegant, so pure, so bewitching, fascinating.
you were a goddess among mortals.
so it's normal that you were in a relationship with todoroki, he was of the same high social class, you understood each other without exchanging words. he was so jealous.
oh fuck, how he would have wanted you to give him a simple look. no matter how disdainful it was. just so you would understand that he was there, that he was in love with you.
and it was during this party organized at the office to celebrate some investment or gain, that his life was going to change for the better, and the worse.
"damn izuku be careful where you put the fucking glass. apologize to miss y/l/n." said shoto dryly.
the party seemed to come to a halt as attention focused on your trio. an annoyed murmur ran through the crowd. you were used to being the center of attention, of the tabloids, of your family.
you were japan's little starlet.
but here, with a red wine stain on your designer dress thanks to this izuku ? oh no, how embarrassing.
"you're can't be serious, i asked you for some rosé, besides. " he continues in an aggressive tone.
todoroki may have assured you that izuku was his best friend, but since you were dating him, all you could see was him barking at that poor young man. but you weren't going to lie, you were amused.
and still it was sad. for shoto, of course, to have to deal with a green-haired phenom like that since childhood.
calm down.
calm down y/n. it's not like this dress cost thousands of dollars, and it came straight from the designer.
you always hate your father's pathetic interns, but this one had won the jackpot.
this izuku was twice as tall as you. but your gaze still fell on the young man with the green hair. his imposing size, and his adorable little freckles surprised you a little. how come this attractive physique had such a shy personality ?
you would have had him in your bed by now if you hadn't been set up with shoto. but what was stopping you from getting down on your knees in front of him ? a slight smile stretched your pretty lips. nothing at all.
"please forgive me miss y/l/n.," he said, looking into your eyes.
a short, yet long silence falls between you. your face was drawn, you were annoyed, bored. irritated by this idiot and this incident that had spoiled your mood.
" never mind, get out of my sight." you reply curtly.
the young man went to the kitchen to clean up his mess while you went to the bathroom to fix your look.
you'll have a word with your father and the board to get that idiot fired. on top of that incident, he had that naive look in his eyes, too nice. too pure.
no wonder he's everyone's stooge around here.
"fuck. "
you tried to clean the stain on your cleavage as best you could.
"you have to remove the stain with vinegar from your silk dress, miss."
the young man's interruption made you jump with fear. he was watching you, still with the same kind yet irritable look. we'll see if he'll be as cute when you've fired him. well, when your father has.
"i told you to get out of my sight earlier, didn't i ? "
the young man loosened his tie and came to your side. he was looking at you through the mirror this time.
"i'm sorry again, but the men's room is occupied so we'll have to share it while I get rid of this task too. " he said softly.
that softness in his voice, argh, it had the audacity to-
"if i may say so, i think you still look lovely tonight." he adds in a deep voice.
you couldn't explain it, but his compliment made you feel an inexplicable anger. without being able to answer anything, you felt the blood rush to your cheeks.
but who was that fool ?
who was he to make such a remark ? maybe you should tell shoto that his best friend was flirting with his girlfriend ? that this poor trainee had been ogling the breasts of the daughter of the CEO of one of the biggest companies in Japan?
but you wouldn't have any fun with that tonight.
so you finally faced him, your hands having stopped rubbing the stain since that advice he had given you.
your panther eyes were locked in his. what a great opportunity to cheat on shoto todoroki, the daddy's boy with the boy version of cinderella.
without a word from you, your hand came to caress his well-drawn jaw, then moved with excruciating slowness up his cheek and then his cheekbone. that little red came to tint his beautiful face the same color as his lips.
it looked like a greek god, he was without a doubt much more attractive than your boyfriend.
"fuck me izuku." you breathe a few millimeters away from his lips.
you saw his face panic when you took his hand to slide it towards your crotch. and even more when he felt that you were not very dry in your intimate part.
"look how much you make me want to. let me make you feel good, like i let you make me feel good. shoto won't need to know. "
"you are my boss's daughter... and my best friend's girlfriend. "
your other free hand slowly, sinuously, came down his fly. your two breaths were one, speeding up a little more as you become intimate in this luxury toilet
totally removed from the party. from shoto. from your father. from the business. from alcohol, and from the sins that the business itself represented.
greed.
"let's talk about shoto here." your fingers finally met the tip of his cock. you didn't let go of the amazement of its size. a real surprise all the way, that miserable izuku.
you continued in an ever more suave voice.
"shoto, your best friend since you were a teenager, right ? and you let him treat you like that ? did you know that he was planning to succeed my father as the company's ceo ? "
" w-what ? " he said in a surprised voice.
"yeah... a real tragedy, isn't it ? especially, when i'm the only one worthy of getting this job. don't you think i fell for that arrogant guy. "
his fingers finally met your panties, and in one movement he shifted them to meet your lips.
a slight sigh of pleasure echoed in the toilet.
"he treats you like shit. but maybe you deserve to be stepped on, to be insulted like a nobody. maybe you want to remain a submissive all your life? " you pick up on that.
"n-no, of course.. not." his voice was pleading as your movements on his member accelerated.
"well, i knew you weren't just a complete idiot. "
you spread your legs slightly to throw him a larger access, inwardly claiming death from the pleasure he gave you so easily.
"let me make you a deal. you whisper. "i'll let you fuck me, and you help me get shoto out of the way, and get me into the role of CEO of the company.", you say with a firm tone.
a mischievous smile stretched your lips as you pressed them against izuku's.
"be my little puppy, and you can marry me."

Anti-Romantic, Part 1
Tumblr media
(credit to the original owner of the image)
Character | Jaehyun x reader Genre | nonidol!au, Mutual Pining, Slowburn, Fluff WordCount | 3.6 K Author'sNote | lmaoooo the fact that I intended this to be a oneshot type of thing oops. Wellllll, I tried. Most likely to be a two part series, but we'll see.
This is part of a series I intend to call "If Songs were Fics" and this particular one was loosely inspired by TXT's Anti-Romantic bc I'm obsessed. I hope you enjoy reading as much I enjoyed writing it!
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
I don't know who loves me
And I don't care, It's a waste anyways
A romantic feeling, Kinda scares me
“Any plans for you birthday next week?”
Jaehyun shakes his head at you, “no, not yet, don’t you have that date with that barista?”
“I’m not sure, he’s been acting weird over text lately. Might not be worth it,” you shrug your shoulders. “Besides, it’s your birthday! You only get one of those a year, we should plan something.”
You were on your way to the gym, a ritual you and Jaehyun had ever since you both found out you worked for the same company. You had been childhood friends, but ended up losing touch since you went to separate universities.
It was a nice surprise to see a friendly face on the first day of orientation and throughout the duration of your training for the next six weeks. Although you were both from different departments, you enjoyed taking your lunch breaks together and sharing small gossip about your old class-mates.
“ugh, don’t remind me,” he let’s out a long sigh, “every year, it seems like my family won’t stop pestering me about starting a family.”
“What’s so wrong about that?”
“Nothing, just not for me. Or at least not yet. I don’t think I’m the type to settle down,” he shrugs again as if it were no big deal.
You gasp, “how could you say that? I’ve seen your insta account. It’s got your cousin’s kids all over it!” You stop to take a good look at him as he holds the door of the gym open for you. “Back in school too, you used to tutor those elementary kids for volunteering hours. Even when you didn’t need them. You’ve always liked kids.”
“That’s different…”
“Right. Totally different things. Got it,” you roll your eyes. This wasn’t the first time he mentioned not wanting to settle down. At first, you had thought it was because he liked ‘keeping his options open’ like back in high-school. Or, not that you knew for sure, but if the rumors were true then it meant he slept his way around. Apparently, he never slept with someone twice and despite the cold shoulder the other party would get, all you had ever heard were praises. Not that you paid that much attention or anything.
You and Jaehyun had the same circle of friends, but despite that, he had never made any advances towards you. You’d be lying if that didn’t bother you at least once or twice. You just assumed that he didn’t want to make the friendship awkward or mess with the friend dynamics of your group. Which was why your crush on him in junior high ended as soon as you got to high-school.
You ended up going on dates with other people, but nothing that kept your interest. Nothing that compared to how you felt around him. Not that he seemed to think the same, so you tried your best to stay the good friend you always have been. You didn’t want to push something he clearly didn’t want; not that it didn’t hurt any less. Throughout the years it’s become bearable, at least. Almost like a painful habit.
You check in and head to the locker rooms to change. His nonchalance about the subject had always puzzled you. You’d seen first hand how all the female coworkers seemed to sway their hips as they walked by him, how some would pop a blouse button more than usual when around him, and you swore no one else was getting that much help throughout training more than him. He was handsome and a gentleman, that much was painfully obvious.
You meet him outside by the water fountain, “ready for warm-up?” he guides your way to the treadmills.
“When’s the last time you dated?”
You would have laughed if you weren’t so shocked to see him trip from the corner of your eye. “why the sudden curiosity?” He finally responds.
“Not sudden, I’d always wondered.” You defended. “You’re good looking and you’re very…I mean, you live on your own and have your own car. You have good relations with your family AND you’re good with kids. So, what is it?” You hadn’t realized how troubling you thought it all was. But now that you started digging you couldn’t stop.
“I just—” you pause, “it doesn’t make sense.”
You hear him chuckle, “you might wanna slow down before you pull something.” You look down and realize that your pace had gone from a relaxed jog to a borderline run during your rant. Maybe this wasn’t the best time to psychoanalyze your only friend in the city.
“Well, I just don’t know how to let people in. It’s just that.” He finally responds. “I love kids, but I don’t know or think I’d be a good partner.” He slows down before stopping, ending the conversation. He waves you off with an easy smile as you stay running.
Huh, maybe you pushed him too far. Your eyes can’t help but follow him around the gym.
Sweet and bitter chocolate, The taste at the end is always the same
Like the saddest movies, Only tears in my eyes
Your hands were sweaty the entire morning, anticipating your lunch time. It was his birthday today, and while you hadn’t made any concrete plans you ended up agreeing to go over to his place after work. Your gym bag was ready with snacks and comfy clothes to stay over. You remembered him saying he was excited to watch that new Marvel movie that had recently come out so you had bought it online to stream it at his place as a surprise. But what had you nervous was the small heart shaped box sitting in your purse. You didn’t know what possessed you to buy it but you had immediately thought of Jae when you passed by it at the mall. You remember vaguely mentioning that it was a special occasion to the sales lady (as in, his birthday), but she must have thought it was your significant other rather than friend because she changed the box to the red velvet shaped one while giving you a wink. In her defense, you could have protested but…why didn’t you?
You hear a knock on your door, “hey little miss sunshine.” Ah, Nakamoto, this couldn’t be good news. He was only sickly sweet to you when he needed a favor.
“What do you want?” you deadpan. He only laughs as he makes himself comfortable in your office. “Well, nothing in particular. Can’t stop by and see how you’re doing?” he feigns hurt.
“Right—the last time you ‘came by’ you left me working over-time through the weekend,” You sigh, “so what is it this time? Missed meeting? Late proposal?” To be fair, your supervisor WAS overworked sometimes. And since you were the only worker under him, it was normal for him to sometimes share some of the load with you.
He smiles at you, “nope. Just have a proposal for you. I know you’ve been working hard these past few months and I’ve been really impressed by your work ethic.” He stands and moves closer to your desk, “And I thought some sort of reward was in order, as well as celebration.” Ok, now you’re confused. You were ok with the reward part, it usually came in the form of a gift card to your favorite coffee shop, but celebration?
“Why would we celebrate? Did I miss something?”
“Not yet, but I did recommend you to the partner position with me. And I wanted to be the first to tell you that the boss approved it earlier today. So, what do ya say? Dinner on me?” he extends his hand out to you and wiggles his eyebrows playfully.
Oh.
Shit! You were hoping this would happen eventually, moving up from the entry-level position you had. But you had never thought it would be this fast. “Oh my gosh, are you serious?” You give him your hand and he shakes it in mock salute.
“Of course, some people will come by to move your computer to the office next to mine. You start Monday!” he winks, “So, wanna go to that new rooftop restaurant? This is a once in a life-time ticket, so you best say yes.”
But your dinner with Jae…He’ll understand, right? He has to. It’s not like he seemed that excited about it anyway. And you could always spend the day together tomorrow, too. It would be pretty rude to turn down Yuta after he pulled some strings for you…
You smile at him, “Thank you Mr. Nakamoto, I won’t let you down as a partner. Yeah, dinner sounds great. Wanna meet there?”
Tumblr media
You sit down on the small table, now nervous for other reasons.
Jae sits opposite of you, a small smile on his face. “Hey you,” he greets.
“hey…” you start, “I hate to change plans so suddenly, but…” crap, you feel really shitty. But you really were between a rock and a hard place.
“everything ok?”
“yeah, no. I actually just got promoted,” you start.
“You did? That’s awesome! So fast, too. Wow—but shouldn’t you be more enthusiastic about it?” he chuckles.
“I am, just—my old supervisor wanted to go to dinner to celebrate. And I don’t think I could say no after helping me out like that.”
“I mean, did you want to skip it or?” Now he’s confused.
“Well, he wanted to go out tonight since I start Monday and today’s Friday…I don’t think I can come over tonight,” you explain.
Realization crosses his features before he gives a small smile. “Don’t worry about it, you’re fine. And he’s treating you! You don’t know when the next time he offers might be,” he continues, “we can celebrate another day anyway.”
“Are you sure?” now you feel like shit.
“Of course I’m sure.”
For the rest of the lunch, a thick silence settles before he excuses himself back to work.
Jaehyun knew this was coming. Nothing ever went his way; it’s why he kept everyone at a distance from his heart. But he was weak when it came to you. This game of push and pull was bound to keep happening, and it only brought him that all familiar foul taste in his mouth.
I know, that sweet love song, Those words of promise
When you turn around, It's just an unfamiliar someone
It was why he decided to go else-where for university, instead of joining you and some of your friends to the one closest to home. He chose to go across the globe—far, far away from the curse of you.
It had started on a windy day, back when you were 4 and new to the town he grew up in. Jaehyun didn’t want to leave his mother’s arms, he didn’t like the thought of being with strangers until later in the day even if his mom promised that she would be back. A little girl with jean overalls like his came up to him and his mom, “why are you crying?”
“I am not!” he sniffed. He didn’t need to make new friends like his mom was trying to tell him. All he needed was to go back home. You took out something from your pocket and showed it to him, “look, my mom said I could give one to my first friend. She said it was sharing. Want one?”
In her little palm, were two kiss chocolates. “You’re not my friend,” he grumbled, “I don’t know your name.” At that, you giggled, “I’m Y/N!” you took his hand and placed a chocolate there, “there, now we’re officially friends.”
“See, Jae? You can spend some time with Y/N and have fun. Before you know it, I’ll be back,” she promised.
“Yeah, Jae! Come play blocks with me, and then we can try the coloring.” You held his hand as you led him deeper into the classroom. Just like that, Jae began to feel a little warmth in his chest. He didn’t mind that his favorite thing to do was play tag outside or that he wasn’t really good at coloring inside lines yet. But that didn’t matter to him. As long as he had this one friend around, he was content.
Sorry I'm an anti-romantic, I want to run far away
My heart that already chases after you, Blazes up as a small flame
Looking back at it now, it was a little funny. All it took to let you in back then was a simple chocolate kiss and your little sticky hand in his leading the way. You were always larger than life to him, sometimes he forgot that you were just as human as him.
As you two continued to grow, nothing seemed to change your friendship. But he knew that the depth of his feelings wasn’t mutual. It was in the way that you brought a lot different people together and decided to call it your family. Another of your friends, Jungwoo, liked to joke that you collected introverts for fun. To Jaehyun, it was more likely that you just didn’t see the fun in leaving people out. You were charming and passionate. Traits he wished he had. Your empathetic nature and gentle disposition were all that Jaehyun needed, even if he wasn’t the only recipient.
Once you guys started to hit puberty, things started to feel rocky. Jaehyun couldn’t help but physically distance himself from you, his ears were always red-hot. You had always been pretty to Jaehyun, but you were starting to become really beautiful. And if the boy’s locker rooms’ talk were anything to go by, then other people were definitely starting to realize “what a great catch” you were.
It really pissed him off. Who were they to say things as if all you were was a piece of meat? It disgusted him. But what disgusted him more was the fact that sometimes, he couldn’t help but also feel the way your body felt in his when you hugged in greeting. He hated the way his body reacted to everything you did.
He first messed around with a senior girl back when he was a sophomore, Sooyoung. She was leaving and he couldn’t take it anymore. Your boyfriend was a piece of trash and he was tired of hearing the way he would share what Jae considered to be intimate moments that had no business being public. But you seemed so happy… that next game, Jae stole the ball from him and scored on his own. Even if it cost him a three hour lecture from the coach, he would do it again. Fuck being a team, that guy was an asshole.
What he hadn’t planned on was liking messing around. He would never admit it, but the reason he couldn’t commit was because he couldn’t get rid of that small grain of hope that glowed in his chest every time you stared at him longer than would be deemed normal. It wasn’t often, but he knew he wasn’t seeing things. So, he succumbed to the cycle of push-and-pull that you guys had going on.
Jaehyun wasn’t blind, he knew that your work definitely spoke of your professionalism, but he’s also seen the way Nakamoto stared after you. Of the way his hand would often touch your waist when walking together. Even now, as he hears you apologize through the phone again as you get ready for your “date” with him he can’t help this heart feel heavy with anger. Anger at himself, for letting you slip away once more. He usually hopes for nothing but the best for you, but this time, he wishes you had an awful dinner.
Sorry I'm an anti-romantic, I don't believe in romance
I'm afraid that after burning my whole heart, It will only leave behind ashes
Throughout the entire dinner, you can’t seem to get Jae out of your mind. It keeps you from enjoying the delicious food, keeps you from keeping your usual banter with Nakamoto.
You’re about to call it a night and thank Nakamoto for inviting you out when he beats you to it, “damn, I was hoping this might be a good break from the usual overtime we do, but something tells me your mind has been elsewhere,” he offers good naturedly, “I know it’s valentine’s, so maybe this is why we feel so awkward, right?”.
You grimace a bit at that, “ah—I’m sorry. I really am grateful for the way you look after me in the company and I’m also thankful for this lovely dinner,” you stop a bit, afraid you might offend him, “I agreed to come out tonight, so no need to feel awkward.” You offer a smile.
“Alright then. I guess you already have your sights on someone?” he prods. Should you be honest? There was no rule against dating outside your department, and you were pretty sure your new boss’s wife also worked within the company. “…I do. But I’m pretty sure they don’t feel the same way. It’s been so long since we’ve known each other. Surely if something were to have happened, it would have by now.” You were loosening up, definitely the wine’s fault.
Nakamoto sighs at that, “damn, and here I thought I could woo you after this,” he winks jokingly but you laugh him off. You knew he didn’t care for you that way. “I really hope you’re talking about the guy you always eat lunch with. I swear everyone thought you guys were married when you were released from training.”
“What?! No, I—we’ve been friends since we were children—”
“Aha! So it was him then,” he smirks. “Good.”
You groan, “Please, no.”
“What, it’s not him? You sure about that?”
“I will neither confirm nor deny that statement,” you groan. Why were you discussing your love life? You push the wine away and take a sip of your water.
“Hmm. That’s too bad. Could have sworn that guy was after you.” He stands up. “But fine, I’ll stop prodding.”
You sigh in relief—“for now.” You groan. “What do you even mean by that? You don’t even know him. Or me, or at least personally at least.”
“Mmm, I don’t have to. Some things you just know. Like how he wishes I was six feet under every time we run across him at work,” he sobers up at that. “He seemed like a cool dude, but his glare isn’t too friendly. I don’t know how you fell for that.”
You scoff, “just because someone has a resting bitch face doesn’t mean they’re a bad person.”
You both make your way to the underground parking. “You’re right, it just makes them unapproachable. Is that why you won’t confess?” His genuine tone rubs you the wrong way, you don’t need be given false hope.
“Stop it, you said you would drop it,” you frown, “Anyways, thank you for the food boss—”
“—not your boss anymore. Just call me Yuta, we’re partners now.”
“Aren’t you two years older than me?”
“And?”
You shrug at that, “well, thanks Yuta. For the food, not for the interrogation.” He chuckles at that, nodding while pulling out his car keys. “see you Monday!” he waves you off.
Tumblr media
You sigh as you get home. It wasn’t as late as you thought it was, only a few minutes past nine. You really wanted to see him. Would he be busy?
You fish out your phone and dial his number before chickening out.
“Hello?”
“Jae! It’s me. Are you busy right now?” your heartbeat is pounding so loud, you’re scared he could hear it on the other end. “Right now?” you hear shuffling on the other end, “no, I was just reading that book Jungwoo sent me. Might have dozed off a bit into it but don’t tell him I said that,” he chuckles.
“Why, is everything ok? It’s still early, did you end dinner that fast?”
“Oh, Yuta and I called it a night pretty early. Too many couples were out and about and it got a bit awkward,” you explained.
“Yuta?”
“Ah, yes. Yuta Nakamoto, but now that we’re associates, he said it would be better to address him less formally.” You waive him off, “actually, I was wondering—if it’s not too late, can I still come over? If not, that’s cool. We can still hang out tomorrow, but your birthday is today and I thought—”
He laughs at your rambles, “of course you can come over, you know you don’t have to ask. How many times have I told you that?”
“Ok, ok. Just checking,” you still had your comfy change of clothes in your car, so you opt to save those for tomorrow and change into something causal for tonight.
“Do you want me to go get you? We can get ice cream on the way, hopefully they don’t close early.”
“Sounds like a plan then,” curse your heart for melting at everything he says.
“Alright, give me 15 and I’ll be there.” He hangs up.
You look at your bag, resting on your sofa and you sigh. The entire night, it’s almost as if you could feel the weight of his gift weighing it down. Yuta is known for being very observant, it’s why he was so good at his job. Closing deals and making contracts in advertisement. Would he be right about this? You know you desperately wish he was, but is it worth risking your best friend?
EndNote | Woooow, that was a longass ride. Let me know if you liked it or if there are other typos I missed! Or just to let me know what you thought, that would be much appreciated. I'm thinking of finishing it by Sunday 6/13, so hopefully the next part is up by then. Until then!
Here's Part 2!

1000k Commission [Uchiha Izuna / Fem Reader] @izunaswife
Can I please have Izuna gushing over the reader’s big boobs? Surprise me bb
[I hope you enjoy this my love, just for Christmas !!!]
Tumblr media
"Where are you going?"
Izuna inquired from the bed, still half asleep.
"To the computer? Some of us have to work even when there's a global pandemic out there.”
You explain as you comb your hair and adjust your low-cut blouse in front of the mirror.
"But why are you dressed like that?"
"What's wrong with my clothes?
"Take that off [Y/N]."
"You're not my father Izuna, go back to sleep."
It's not shocking that the Uchiha was overacting. Since his job consisted entirely of the family business of killing for money, he works from time to time. And although his insistent efforts to make you stay at home and act as his beautiful trophy wife continued to come, you constantly refused, being determined to work and earn your own money.
Friday morning, you have the last work video call of the week, and of course, you like to look good in front of your colleagues. So when you woke up you decided to wear one of your favorite pieces, a beautiful low-cut shirt, revealing to some extent.
Izuna woke up together with you, committed to providing moral support as today he had no life to steal. The business was temporarily slowed down by the pandemic, and all the Uchihas were left to stay home with their families. Direct orders from Indra.
He waited for you to take a bath, and fought against sleep while you were applying your make-up, but his eyes opened wide when he saw you with the blouse he bought especially for you.
Sitting at the desk that was inside the room, you opened the computer and prepared the necessary files for the working day.
"[Y/N] I'm serious, choose something quieter."
"You're talking like an idiot, Uchiha. Listen to yourself."
"Do you work with a whole team of women?"
Izuna sat on the bed, leaving his bare chest in the air.
"No?"
"So?"
"So what?"
"It's obvious that they'll be touching their dicks under their tables with your beautiful boobs on screen."
"You certainly are nasty when you want to be. It's work, Izuna. Not a brothel."
He grabbed his cell phone, and whispering things to himself he was angry against the back of the bed.
After a few minutes, he approached the desk, and without even looking at you, sat right by your side, where the camera couldn't focus on him but he could see everything. With his long pajama trousers and his grumpy pout, he looked like a little boy.
"Do you mind?"
"No, not at all. When you're done, we can go back to bed."
Knowing that it was useless to fight his whim, you opened the incoming call of your partner, entering the group that had to meet virtually to discuss some issues. The conversation was normal, jovial, and professional, the problems were solved efficiently and your man behaved well by your side, like a guard dog but silent. No one made any inappropriate comments, and even your boss complimented you on your good work.
Until the meeting ended and your superiors started to abandon the video call. Being left alone with your peers and an extremely jealous boyfriend at your side, the combination was predictably fatal.
"Hey [Y/N]"
One of your colleagues greeted you, relaxed for the end of the week.
A friendly smile was all you answered, whether Izuna was there or not, you were not interested in the attention of other men.
"What do you say if you and I go out for a drink tomorrow night? Oh no, wait, the bars are closed... I guess there's no other option for you to come to my place?”
The Uchiha was about to jump in front of the camera, but by patiently squeezing his thigh you stopped him, indicating that he must let you solve it.
"No, thank you. I have a boyfriend."
"He doesn't need to know, you see? Those two look very pretty in that blouse."
Completely shocked and horrified by the man's disgusting cheekiness, you didn't even care that Izuna appeared on stage and took control.
"Hey, buddy. How are you? I'm the boyfriend who doesn't need to know."
"Um... sorry man... I...."
"Nono, it's okay. We're friends, right? Do you like my girlfriend, dude?"
"N-No I..."
"Come on, man, speak up, maybe your balls are stuck in your throat? I'll tell you something, homie, she's mine, and I'm not someone you want to deal with. I can have your head in a bag in half an hour if I want. Keep your miserable, needy eyes off my girl, or you won't be able to tell what happens next.”
"So-orry S-Sir..."
Izuna closed the computer forcefully, not caring about breaking it in the process. He looked at you with possession and leaned against the desk with both hands resting on it.
"Well? Will you listen to me next time? I know how this thi-“
But his words stopped when a fine tear fell down your cheek.
"I feel... dirty..."
Understanding your stance, he took you by the hand and led you to the bed, lying next to you again.
He took off your blouse and threw it as far as possible.
"We'll get another one, kay? The one you like best."
Holding your upset and sad shape in his arms, he kissed the side of your head, reaching down to your cheek, running along your chin, and landing on your lips.
"Those eyes... I just want you to look at me like that. No one else. No one else. Take care of me."
Knowing what you needed, Izuna understood what to do to make you forget the bad moment.
"You are mine. Therefore, I will always take care of you and protect you. Not only now, but forever. I'm the only man who can look at you like that.”
He went down with his lips along the side of your neck, leaving a wet trail where his tongue slipped as little noises started to come from your lips.
Without delay, he reached the problem area.
Holding your breasts with both hands, he looked into your eyes and spoke.
"These? mine. Maybe I should leave a mark on them so that you feel more reassured..."
He started biting one of your nipples while squeezing the other with two fingers. His teeth were soft on your sensitive pearl, while your hands grabbed his hair and gave him lovely moans of contentment.
With one of his, he slapped the boob he couldn't take care of with his mouth, making you startle.
"What beautiful breasts you have [Y/N]. What if I want to stay here all day, playing with your nipples and leaving them all red?"
That said, his attention was focused on the one which had not received the attention of his tongue. The one that got free was attacked by his hand, as he squeezed gently and made sounds of approval while sucking and biting.
Whoever said that it was impossible to come by your breasts, was wrong, because Izuna made you melt under his lips.
"Take me like the good girl you are."
From one moment to the next, his cock was between your breasts, while your hands squeezed so his member would find the same pleasure as in your pussy.
Opening your mouth and looking into his eyes, you tasted his dick's head every time it impacted against your tongue, listening to his moans and watching your skin get wet between his length and your shape.
"So pretty eating my cock, fuck."
His pace was quick, and he seemed enchanted by the image of your two beautiful boobs catching his limb. The friction pushed him to the limit without much effort, and his seed spilled over your nipples, chest, and stomach, staining you completely while he was jerking his cock with release and rubbing it with one hand.
"I hope you like my mark, love."

My take on 5x10
Welp, that was a big one!
You know, before going into this episode I reminded myself this was the first episode of a new era, the first episode completely made by the new team.
So with that in mind my expectations were "Okay, let's see what they've got."
And oh boy did they surprise me.
DISCLAIMER: this text post is long af, not kidding.
1. THE INTRO SCENE.
You guys have no idea how glad I am that we got Mac doing a usual MacGyvering in his house. It's been ages since they implemented this format of showing his dynamics outside Phoenix and around his house.
I wasn't worried about the proposal thing at all. Guys, you have to accept that MacRiley was always going to happen after that 4x04 episode.
There was also the fact that this was the intro scene (usually the most important plot issues happen in the outro scene), Bozer's weird reaction and the melancholic audio cue.
If that proposal was happening, they would've made it more uplifting.
(I gotta say that watching Monica Marcer and the official MacGyver account making damage control in Twitter 3mins into the episode was a funny experience)
So my initial questions about Mac wanting to propose were: "what are his motivations?" and "how is this not going to work out by the end of the episode?"
The second question we got the answer later on. The first question remains unanswered. If we take on Mac's words, he says:
Mac: Unexpected, I know, I know. But that's why I like about it. You know ever since I lost my dad and Jack I've been thinking about the bigger picture. A commitment to make things work it's exactly what Desi and I need. A grand romantic gesture. *cue melancholic music*
Here we're presented with a bunch of things worth analysing, in my opinion.
He's trying to see the "bigger picture" which, for me, it means he's trying to tackle down different issues from his life with one specific, efficient action [the proposal]. Those issues being:
> his current romantic relationship: make is aware they have an inconsistent relationship > his performance at work: he needs balance between his personal affairs and his work, which is based on saving the world in a daily basis and for that he needs to be focused. > dealing with his past losses: to my understanding, saying "ever isn I lost my dad and Jac I've been thinking about the bigger picture" means that he doesn't want hopelessness to take over him, he wants to keep on moving and being proactive about his life.
So... you have to understand that in some sort of way, this proposal thing is a signal that Mac is healing. In some sort of way, if you were in Mac's shoes you would see that it was a positive thing for him. A step forward.
The thing is, we [the audience] have an extended understanding of the situation and we know that an engagement would be an incredibly rushed decision.
As well as it is that Mac's trying to move forward, he obviously hasn't been able to pinpoint the true issue behind his relationship with Desi. He isn't wrong about them lacking in the commitment department, but forcing the relationship to scalate isn't the right move. He should be asking himself: "Why are we avoiding commitment?"
And that's when he'd find out that they have very deep and important trust and communication issues.
~~~~
2. Moving on. MURDOC.
Russ: I can process it more efficiently by having it all spread out ahead me, you know. I reckon see the bigger picture at once.
This is when I realized that the episode was centered on this whole "bigger picture" idea. Russ struggles to see the full picture until the very end and Mac finds out that he hasn't been seeing the full picture of his life at all by the end of the episode.
Fast forward, the team's in Mexico, Riley knows about the ring already and she has already had the talk with Bozer in which she refers to her feelings for Mac in a past tense.
Then Murdoc appears.
And as if the episode wasn't already a rollercoaster after Mac's reveal, now Murdoc shows up to put everything upside down.
First I gotta say, man Dastmalchian is SUCH A GOOD MURDOC. Excellent actor. The way he delivers his lines, his facial expressions, all of it make an original and very entertaining Murdoc.
He always gives me such a Andrew Scott's Moriarty vibes and I love it.
Secondly, his dynamic with Andrews: *cheff kiss*
I loved how Andrews was so over Murdoc's theatrics, to the point his facial expression screamed "Why did I even reclute this guy" LOL.
Back to the story.
This is something I was hoping it wouldn't happen but at the same time I don't see another way it could've happened which is the explanation behind Murdoc's escape and how Phoenix didn't know about it.
Because what they told us is that the FBI didn't let them in on Murdoc's escape, right? Does that imply that the FBI has a corrupt agent in charge? Does it imply that the order of not letting Phoenix in came from above? Maybe someone with higher clearence than Matty? A politician? Governement conspiracy?
It smells like plot hole, tbh. I feel like the Murdoc's escape is a classic "it is what it is". We'll see if they come back to this in later episodes.
~~~~
3. BIG SECRET REVEAL 1.
By now we're at the point of the rollercoaster where you're going up and up and up. Your tension building more and more as you're getting close to the drop.
Bozer and Riley's audio was the drop.
You know, during this scene I jumped from my seat, closed my eyes, cringed, squealed, my heart accelarated, forgot how to breathe...
As a person who is a little bit bipolar when it comes to romance (I can be very shy about it or very outspoken about it) that scene made me SO UNCOMFORTABLE.
Imagine having your feelings exposed not only to the person you have feelings for but also his girlfriend who happens to be your friend, your boss and the criminal that's threatening to kill hundreds of people.
I was like: "Not like this!!"
And Mac's reaction didn't help because of the lack of it. I don't know what I expected but his slightly monotone reaction broke my heart.
Thankfully, I've recovered since then and I don't mind that it happened that way.
Still, imagine how suffocating it must've been for Riley. That idea was what made me so uncomfortable and I think that's what they were going for. They wanted to make it as straightforward and awkward as possible.
But it doesn't end there. It's followed by Mac revealing the ring to Desi (and Riley). Mac's in "fuck it" mood and Desi kinda panics.
Little side note here, using GUM and a DIAMOND to break a bullet proof glass... BIG YES. That's an intrinsic MacGyverism.
~~~~
4. BIG SECRET REVEAL 2.
Then we get a breather from this drama by introducing another drama, Leanna's death.
Bozer's reaction to the news was heartbreaking for my already heartbroken heart.
I have my suspicions as to why they decided to kill her... The other episode completely made by the new team was the Quarantine one (5x06). During that episode Mac and Bozer bond over Bozer's pain. After learning about Bozer's mom, Mac chooses to share a piece of his own pain with him.
So, hear me out, I think they writers are planning to help Mac process his own grief THROUGH Bozer's grief. Keep in mind that we still have a Bozer centered episode coming up.
This is just a theory. I may be wrong, but I think it may be right too.
Back to the episode.
Once again we see a three dimensional Russ. He does something accordingly to his own judgement thinking it's the right decision [hiding Leanna's death], he realizes he screwed up, he gives Bozer a very heartfelt apology about it.
Henry's acting talent shone with this narrative. Actually, most of the actors had the chance to shine THANKS to the NARRATIVE. Murdoc, Andrews, Desi, Mac, Russ and Bozer... they all had their highlight moments (I'll talk about Riley later).
Parenthesis here... THE NARRATIVE HAS RETURNED THEIR SOULS TO OUR DEAR CHARACTERS!
WOW, they aren't brooding, angry, sad or whiny ALL THE EFFIN TIME. ABOUT TIME!
~~~~
5. LAST ACT.
For the third or fouth time in this episode my heart broke again when Mac was friendly towards Riley, after she explained herself. It really felt like he was friendzoning her.
But here's something to point out. Riley visibly relaxed when he reacted that way. What does that tell us?
> She had been so tense up until that point. Imo, she's on the defensive now. You can even see it in her wardrobe, make up and hairstyle choices. They're very contrasting to Riley's most vulnerable moments in this show (like when Audrey broke up with her).
Riley has had a year to sort out her feelings. We see in this episode that she spoke about them in a past tense. Whether she achieved it or not is unknown. We just know that she has at least tried to move on.
> She was mostly afraid of ruining her close relationship with Mac (who's her only family, along with Bozer) and her friendship (?) with Desi. We've seen it over and over again: Riley DID NOT WANT to get in the middle of them.
Keep that in mind as we go in the last scene.
It took me a while to figure out a possible thread of thought inside Mac's mind. Why did he look at the ring and decided to go to Riley's house? It really didn't make sense to me.
One moment he was thinking about his proposal and somehow that lead to him having the necessity to know if Riley still had feelings for him? Why??
My theory is that he went to her apartment for permission.
His question was a way of asking Riley for permission to propose to Desi. It was a way of reassuring himself that proposing was still the right decision.
In a way, he could also be fishing for an excuse to not do it [the proposal].
Because now he has doubts. He's confused, unsure.
Mac asks:
Mac: Hiding your emotions and letting it pass. Did it go away?
What could her answer have been? Here I wanna go back again to Riley being emotionally defensive, added her strong desire of not wanting to be in the middle of Mac and Desi's relationship.
I think she would've said "Yes, it worked."
Because it also lines up with my idea that the love triangle has changed from "Riley's a better match for Mac" to "Mac needs to win Riley's heart".
Riley's done her job. She worked out her feelings. Now it's time for Mac to sort out his humongously messed up internal self and reignite her spark. That's what I think.
Also, if anyone has any idea on how the song that played in that scene relates with the moment please share it with me because I don't really understand the song choice lol.
~~~~
6. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Desi. I'm not sure what's going on in her mind. She seemed stressed out by the ring, very serious about Riley, lenient with Mac... I'm really not sure.
My guess would be that she doesn't want that type of commitment but she wants to be with Mac yet she can't ignore Riley so does that mean she has to end it with Mac? That's the thought process she may have had? Idk...
I'm glad they let her be mature about it, with no overreactions, no whining, no blaming, nothing of that style that we're used to see in her.
I'm also glad about that moment when she defeats Murdoc and Andrews. THAT'S HOW YOU WRITE A TOUGH DESI. It was filmed with such a gracefulness and elegance. I liked it.
From a MacDesi point of view, she's probably being open minded and giving him space and waiting for him to come back to her... but somehow I got the vibe that she's actually... running away?
Lastly but no less important.
THE HISPANIC REPRESANTION OMG. RUSS SPEAKING SPANISH AND THAT CUMBIA MUSIC FILLED MY HEART WITH SO MUCH PRIDE!!! :')
The Lovestruck~Chapter 12
Tumblr media
(6 December Monday)
12:23 pm
You and Ria settled down on your table by the window as usual in the cafeteria with Mark across you. Three of you were chit-chating about various things and Ria telling Mark about the encounter with Song Joongki yesterday who surprisingly was listening to it with interest.
"I have actually heard about him a lot, you know." He stated munching while you both looked at him amazed making him laugh.
"Actually-"
His words got cut off as you three flinched by the sudden gasps and whispers causing you frown in confusion before following the people's gaze to the entrance which was getting a little crowded now.
"What's happening?" Ria spoke her eyes glued to the crowd as she shifted her body while sitting to see the view before letting out a gasp.
"What if it's Big Boss?!" She exclaimed causing Mark to roll his eyes while you looked at her shook.
"Are we that lucky?" You laughed at your remark turning your head back to the crowd only to get shook by the appearance of none other than your seniors who were walking in.
Your head whipped towards your bestfriend who's mouth was opened as she watched the sight infront of her before looking at you and closed it.
"What happened?" Mark questioned seeing Ria's expression before looking back at the crowd. "Who are they?"
"Seniors." Ria answered smiling before both of your eyes widen as you saw them aproaching your table causing you sit straight as you both exchanged looks with each other.
"Is this seat taken?" You almost gasped hearing the familiar voice before looking up at your side to see Baekhyun looking at innocently.
You blinked before shaking your head. "No."
He smiled pulling out the chair beside you and sat down with his friends sitting down too while you sat there shook processing. You can hear gasps and whispers around you before you glanced at your bestfriend who happened to be just as shook as you.
Although, you feel uncomfortable being in the attention but you can't just tell them to go away that's not polite or your place to do. Besides, the cafeteria is full today unexpectedly so, that's why they sat here. Well, that's what you assumed not knowing what is going on the mind of the person beside you.
Ria, who was shook, slightly smirked as she hoped for this to happen but didn't expected it would happen this soon.
Flashback
Ria got a call from home and excused herself leaving you with Mark and asked you to go ahead which you did.
And as she was done, she turned around startle by the presence behind her to see Baekhyun coming towards her but with a frown on his face.
"Hey." He smiled greeting her and she greeted back still confused before following his gaze where you and Mark were talking while going inside the campus.
"Who is he?" He asked his eyes still on you as a wave of jealously rose in him watching you talking and smiling to the guy.
His expression did not go hidden by Ria who was fast to catch these things and a smirk plastered on her face as she decided to play cupid.
"Uh..he is our friend, Mark." She smiled at him.
"Are they close?" He pointed towards your direction and she hid her smug grin. "They are getting close."
He stared at your direction for a while watching you disappearing inside the campus and looked back at Ria who was giving him a look which he couldn't comprehend.
Nevertheless, he just gave a light smile before nodding and walked away leaving Ria grinning to herself smugly. "Bullseye."
Flashback ended
Ria's smug smile dropped when she noticed Chanyeol looking at her questionly making her sit straight and her cheeks reddened as he was staring her.
"Oh Hyung."
Everyone averted their eyes to the voice which belonged to Rowoon who approached the table with Lauren beside him but her gaze was on the person beside you made you confuse, but he didn't even paid attention to her as his eyes were on you which you didn't know.
"How come you are eating in the cafeteria?" Rowoon asked as he settled beside jongin with her girlfriend beside her who was smiling too sweetly towards everyone which Ria noticed it as she let out a low scoff enough for you to hear it.
"Yeah, since this our last year, we wanted to make some memories." Jongin spoke shoving his mouth with spoonful of rice before giving Baekhyun a nod earning an eye roll from him.
"This is not bad as it was last two years, don't you think Baekhyun-ah?" Chanyeol asked munching his food and Baekhyun nodded. "It's actually good."
"Of course, they changed the chef that's why." Ria joined them. "If they hadn't, this cafeteria would be empty until now."
Everyone chuckled at her remark and your lunch time passed laughing with them. You also joined the conversation as Baekhyun asked you something as he saw how shy you were to talk openly to them which you were thankful for.
He was happy seeing you getting along with his friends where you also noticed his sweet little gesture of him giving you some side dishes time to time making your heart flutter not noticing the fiery gaze from a certain person around the table.
***
7:23 pm
Checking the time, you took off your apron and was ready to go home as it was the closing time. Hearing the jingling bell sound, you instantly looked towards the door to see your bestfriend waving at you before entering.
"I'll get my bag." You told her going inside the kitchen while she talked to Rose and Baekhyun who were also preparing to close the café.
Walking out of the café, Rose bid goodnight before closing the Café and drove off while Baekhyun stayed there.
You and Ria both gave him a confuse look and he just stared at you with unreadable expression unable to tell what's going on in his mind.
And here you were, seated on the passengers seat in Baekhyun's car with Ria in the backseat while on your way to your home. Apparently Baekhyun insisted to drop you both since it's night time and he was worried about the incident happened last time and then you couldn't reject him.
Reaching there, you three got out of his car before you spotted another car and a familiar figure in front of your porch so you stopped, making Ria and Baekhyun halt on their spot.
"Aunt jane?" You called out and she turned around.
"Y/n?" She smiled, coming towards you and hugged you before pulling away and saw Ria and hugged her. "Oh Ria, you're here too."
Ria laughed awkwardly. "Yes, I'm gonna stay here tonight."
"But who's this?" She looked at Baekhyun and he innocently glanced at you both you chuckled awkwardly. "Ah, he's Baekhyun, our senior and friend."
"Hello." He bowed a little giving her a polite smile and aunt Jane smiled back.
"But Aunt Jane, what are you doing here?"
"Oppa asked me to check up on you."
"But I asked dad not to do that." You muttered under your breathe, enough for Ria and Baekhyun to hear.
"Liam is here too." You all followed her eyes to see him getting out the car and walking towards you.
"Hey." Liam smiled standing beside Aunt Jane, looking both you and Ria then his smiled dropped, when his eyes stopped at Baekhyun who was eyeing him expressionless.
"Hi." Liam held out his hand to Baekhyun and he shook it but both of them were looking at eachother with unreadable expression.
"Let's go inside then." Ria interuppted, dropping the awkward atmosphere and you looked at her with 'what to do' face.
"Yeah." Liam went inside sparing last glance at Baekhyun before Aunt Jane looked at Baekhyun. "Why don't you join us?"
"No!" You quickly intruded making them startle.
"I mean he has something important to do, right?" You made an excuse and mouth Baekhyun to say yes.
"Yes, I have something to do." He told her and you and Ria looked at eachother in relief. "But it's not that important so I can join you." He added.
Ria and you looked at him surprised and he just smiled innocently at you. Aunt Jane nodded and went inside leaving you three alone.
"Don't blame me after this, I was saving you but you dug your own grave." You went inside and he watched your figure going inside with a confused look before he glanced at Ria. "What does she mean?"
"You dug your own grave." She shook her head and followed you inside leaving Baekhyun dumbfounded there.
***
Liam was on his phone, Baekhyun and daniel were playing games on the couch opposite of him in the living room, while you and Ria were helping Aunt Jane for dinner. Ria and you kept stealing glances and making sad faces, as you both had planned to chill and order pizza but now it's not possible.
"Here." Aunt jane put the sliced apples on the table and sat beside liam and fed him a slice.
You took another plate of sliced apples, placing them infront of Baekhyun and Daniel before sitting on another couch beside them.
"So Baekhyun.." aunt jane started and Baekhyun sat up straight. "What are you studying?"
You, Ria and Daniel gave eachother the look of 'here we go'.
You got annoyed by her questions, so you decided to interrupt. "Aunt jane, why are you asking so many questions?"
"Why? I want to see what kind of friend our Y/n has." She gave you a tight smile.
"He's really good friend so, you don't have to worry." You forced a smile at her and Baekhyun looked down hiding his smile.
"Aunt jane when will you go home?" Ria asked and Aunt Jane's eyes shot up at her.
"Why? You don't want me to be here?" Her voice was stern but Ria didn't care as always.
"No-I mean we have to do our assignments and all so..if you're here, we can't let you feel lonely and cause of that we won't be able do our assignments." she took a bite of sliced apple while you bit your lip preventing yourself from smiling and proud of your bestfriend as she always knows how to deal with her.
Aunt jane rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, Liam has his work too, so we'll leave after dinner."
She looked at Baekhyun again but he looked at you and mouthed 'help me'.
"Uh, Aunt Jane, I smell something from the kitchen." You pretented to sniff and she stood up and went to kitchen.
"Can I use washroom?" Baekhyun asked and you nodded standing up before making your way to upstairs.
You stood in front of Daniel's room and gestured him to go inside but he didn't.
"Which one is your room?" He asked and you pointed towards your room beside Daniel's.
"Then I should go there." He walked towards your room but you jogged and blocked him by standing in front of him with your back against your room door, stopping him.
"Why would you go into my room?"
"I wanna use washroom."
"Then you should use Dan's, you can't use mine."
"But I wanna see your room too."
"No, you can't."
"Why can't I?"
"Because you can't."
"Is there something you're hidding here?" His eyes enlarged as he let out a fake gasp and you scoffed. "What do you mean hidding? That's because it's messy."
"It's okay, I'm used to it."
"But-."
"You don't want me to go to your room? Okay, then." He made a fake pout looking at you with gloomy face before turning around making you feel bad.
"You can." You blurted out seeing his sad face which you couldn't see and a smile crept on his face before looking at your innocent face making his heart melt.
You hesitantly stepped aside for him to enter which he did with a excitement. You tiptoed looking over his shoulder to see your room if it was messy but it wasn't and how would it be as you always clean your room.
"You call this messy?" He roamed his eyes around the room as he walked inside and went towards your study table.
"Cute." He smiled, eyeing your childhood photo frame adoringly and you felt your cheeks burning.
"By the way, sorry about my Aunt." You spoke scratching your side of your head looking at him apologetically.
"Its okay and thanks, you did saved me." He chuckled. "So that's why you said I dug my own grave."
You nodded. "She asks too many questions and I warned you though."
"But I don't regret it though, I got to see your room." He smiled looking around. "And it's not pink."
You frowned. "What do you mean?"
"You know, girls have their room decorated in pink."
"Well not all girls, I'm more into black." You said with a proud smile. "I asked them to do it in black but dad said it'll be too dark for me but which girl are you talking about? who's room is pink?"
"Somi, my cousin." He replied and you nodded slowly, thinking he has been in a girl's room before and felt something strange inside but you shrugged it off.
"Wait, weren't you going to use washroom?" You looked at him quizzically and he chuckled. "You really thought that?"
"Eh?"
"Yo! Dinner is ready." Ria announced, coming into your room and then grinned mischeviously.
"What were you both doing?" She wiggled her eyebrows.
"We weren't doing anything, let's go." You glared at while walking out wondering what Baekhyun meant.
She looked at Baekhyun who was smiling and a smirk crept on her face. He saw her and his smile dropped. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." She still had smirk on her face, baekhyun looked at her frowning and left the room.
She sighed, shaking her head. "You're too obvious." With that she followed him out.
***
After eating dinner, Aunt jane and Liam went back to their home while Baekhyun was still here as Daniel forced him to stay here.
They were on the couch in the living room, playing games as usual while you and Ria were in the kitchen, cleaning the dishes before you made coffee for them and tea for yourself.
Ria took the tray with cups and placed it on the table in front of them before sitting on the couch opposite of them and you walked out with cup of tea in your hand and sat beside her.
Ria was scrolling through her insta, showing you dresses and asking your opinion on them, you helped her choosing before you looked at the sight before you.
Baekhyun and Daniel were laughing and then Daniel whined as he lost to him but Baekhyun just chuckled ruffling his hair, while your lips stretched in a warm smile, watching them getting along.
"He's handsome, right?" A voice whispered in your ear and you nodded before turning your head to see Ria smirking.
"W-what?" You stammered, taking a sip from your tea and avoiding eye contact with her.
"Gosh y/n, what do I do with you." She giggled shaking her head while taking a cup in her hand.
"Shut up!" You glared at her but she just showed a cheeky grin which annoyed you even more.
"What are you two doing?" You both turned to Baekhyun who was giving his remote control to Daniel back.
"Y/n was-". Ria's mouth got shut as you put your palm on her mouth to stop her.
"Nothing, she's just talking nonsense." You smiled at Baekhyun and shot a glare at you best friend who was struggling to get away.
Not long before Baekhyun stood. "I should go now, it's getting late."
You nodded and got up from the couch and walked him out with Daniel and Ria behind you. As you all walked out, he stopped at the front porch and turned around.
"Well, thank you for today." He looked at you smiling, while shoving his hands in his pocket and you nodded smiling back.
"Hyung, will you come again? I had so much fun." Daniel grinned and Baekhyun nodded right away. "I would love to, only if your sister wants me to."
He grinned playfully while looking at you and your forehead creased. "So I'm the bad guy here?"
You brought your arms to your chest pretending to get offended and they just laughed. Baekhyun bid good night to you and went to his car and drove off before sparing a last glance at you while smiling.
Entering inside Ria and Daniel plopped on the couch tired and you just gave them a look, like they have ran a marathon.
"Isn't strange?" Daniel started causing you and Ria to look at him perplexed. "I mean you didn't interact with any guy before but you've got two guy friends now."
You stared at him for some time contemplating his remark and confused to what to say so, you just shrugged.
"I know right? My bestie is getting popular with boys now." Ria teased nudging you and you rolled you eyes and Daniel laughed. "I don't know about that but if you're going to date anyone of them, date Baekhyunee hyung."
You looked at him shook then frowned. "What? Wait- Where is this coming from?"
"I agree with Dan." Ria interuppted.
"Wait." You instantly sat up straight raising your hands up. "What are you both talking about? What dating? This is never gonna happen."
"What do you mean never gonna happen?" Ria mimicked your tone before looking at you seriously. "Have you ever seen how Baekhyun sunbae is looking at you when you are not looking? Because I can tell it will happen soon."
You rolled your eyes. "No, it's not and I'm not even his type so stop assuming things."
"What? What's wrong with you? You are pretty as heck." Ria came on defense mood and you chuckled. "There's nothing wrong with me but I don't think I'm his type like his type would be like..um...Lauren type girls?"
Ria scoffed. "Lauren? Don't be ridiculous."
"Who is Lauren?" Daniel interuppted but got ignored by you two making him pout.
"I'm not saying Lauren herself but like tall, or stylish which is totally opposite of me. So stop saying these things." You stated sternly not wanting to get your hopes up where in return you'll get hurt.
"But I see something more y/n, trust me. And you'll see it soon." Ria interjected again.
"Ria." You looked at her sternly.
"Fine!"
You sighed walking in the kitchen thinking she would stop now but you were unable to notice her smug smile which was making way to her lips and that got noticed by Daniel who was sensing trouble.
Been Through
Chapter 4: Must be confused about me
Tumblr media
Get ya, get ya, get ya shit together. Girl, I got 20/20 vision, and that's the reason I'ma keep my distance.
"I'm on my way to work now. Just dropped Lily off at preschool......Yes, Mom. I vetted the school extensively. She was on the waiting list since she was 2, so it better be worth it.....Okay. I have to go. Yes....I love you too."
You sighed heavily as you removed the phone from your ear.
Your mother, bless her heart, had a affinity for calling you at inopportune times, such as this one.
You were running late for a meeting. You don't like to blame your problems on your daughter, but this one was definitely her fault. After only two and half hours she had gotten attached to both Lisa and Jennie (you wish she would have just picked one and made this easier for you) and proceeded to have a mental breakdown when they eventually had to leave.
That mental break had caused the both of you to lose sleep, which meant you slept right through your alarm, causing Lily to be late for the one day a week that she went to preschool, and making you late for work.
And you hated being late for anything.
So, This was all your daughter's fault.
"Howdy, Boss." Your assistant, Max, greeted you as you trudged into your office. He handed you a warm cup of coffee. You took a sip, letting out a satisfied noise.
"Thanks, Max. I needed this."
He smiled, happy to be of service, "No problem, Boss."
You rolled your eyes, "Didn't I tell you to stop calling me 'Boss'? I'm a publisher who works for a publishing firm, I'm not the owner of this building. I don't sign your checks. That's the boss."
Max just shrugged happily. The beta was always infuriatingly happy.
"And stop saying 'howdy'. It makes me upset."
"You got it, Bos-Mrs. Y/LN."
You sat at your desk with another eye roll, "Maxwell. You know I'm not married. Just call me Y/N."
"But-"
"Aht! Call me Y/N."
You glared at the poor boy until he nodded back. You could feel a migraine sneaking up the back of your skull. After mumbling something unladylike in Korean, you set about turning on your computer.
"So, what's on the agenda today, Max-a-million?"
The twenty year old perked up at the question. The weirdo loved organizing and things of the sort. You're pretty sure his favorite part of the work day was when you asked him what you were supposed to be doing.
"Today is Tuesday. You've got a meeting with the boss in twenty minutes. Then, you have a manuscript in your email that I forwarded you. It needs to be approved by lunch. And by then it will be time to pick up Lily, and you can leave for the day."
You nodded slowly, "If a full manuscript needs to be approved in three hours why did you just now send it to me today?"
Max gulped, you watched his Adam's apple bobble in his throat. You felt bad at the look of pure fear on his face.
"I um...I'm sorry. It was only sent to me this morning. I was told that you already knew about it."
You wracked your brain for any mention of a manuscript approval by absolutely anyone you had ever had a conversation with.
You turned to Max, the headache was shifting forward towards your eyes, "No one told me anything. Ugh! Fine. I'll just have to skim. You can go back to your desk. Thanks, Maximus."
The boy scurried out of your office.
You sighed, then opened your email to locate the manuscript.
It was the last email you had been sent, you hurried to click it open and download it onto your computer.
It looked like a normal manuscript. No frilly font. No decorative cover. Just bare and unblemished. Just how you liked it.
Rosès Are Pink
Though, it had an absolutely shit title. That was an easy fix as long as the author didn't get attached.
Speaking of the author. You could tell it was a pen name. C.R. Park. There was no telling who that could be. But if you approved this manuscript then you'd probably be getting to know them a whole lot more.
You read the first line and frowned. Then you read the next. And the next. And the next. And soon your were through the first five chapters. The frown soon turned into an angry glare.
You dug into your cardigan pocket for your phone. You pulled it out and dialed a increasingly familiar number.
"Hel-"
"WHAT THE FUCK?!"
"Good morning to you too, Y/N. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE WRITING A BOOK?!"
"I didn't think I needed to?"
"Of course you fucking needed to. I'M IN IT."
"How do you even know that?"
"YOU FUCKING SENT IT TO ME!"
"You can stop yelling now."
"Boss? Are you okay?"
"GET. OUT. MAXIMUM."
"Yes, ma'am."
"I would like to reiterate that I didn't send anything to you. My managers probably did."
"What's the difference? You know I'm a publisher. I was bound to hear of it eventually." You wiped a frustrated hand down your face.
"What's the big deal, Y/N? Did you even read the manuscript?"
"Not all of it."
"Did you like it?"
"Chae, it's magnificent."
"So, what's the problem?
A heavy sigh left your mouth, and with it, your shoulders sag, "I-do you really want to put all of BP's business out there like that?" 'Do you really want to put all of BP's business with me out there like that' is what was really being asked.
"Yeah. The girls and I talked about it for weeks. The group is slowing down and we haven't liked the idea of lying by omission to our fans for awhile now. And I like to write. You don't have to worry anymore. " You could practically hear Chaeyoung's shrug.
"Okay. If you're sure. I hate the title."
Chaeyoung giggled, "So does Lisa. I'll let you fix it. Besides, it's not finished yet."
"You sent me an unfinished manuscript?"
"It doesn't have its happy ending yet."
"And what will that be?"
Chaeyoung paused for a second, "...You tell me."
~~~
"Mommy!" Lily bounded into your arms as soon as she saw you.
You brushed the brunette locks from her eyes and kissed her on the forehead, "Hello, my beautiful baby girl. How was your day today?"
"Good. Miss Taylor let us paint." She bounced in your arms, a semi damp peice of paper in her hands that she wouldn't let you see.
"That sounds like fun. What did you paint?"
"Families."
"Oh?"
"We see Lisa and Jennie today?"
I hope not.
"Not today, sweetheart."
"Oh."
You thought back to the previous day. Lisa was bonding with your kid while you were making out with Jennie on your bed....yep, sounds like you. You had been fine with that turn of events until you stopped kissing Jennie. Well, she stopped kissing you.
She stopped kissing you like she had suddenly remembered she left the stove on at home. You shared a very weird look before she pretty much ran out of your room like a terrified puppy. Or probably, more accurately, someone who just realized they made a mistake.
So, yeah. Now, you weren't so fine with the kiss and you could deal without seeing either of them for a good month.
"Mommy? Why don't I have a daddy or other mommy like the other kids?"
Your kid is trying to kill you. Hmm. What an ironic way to go out.
"Sometimes, kids only have one daddy, or one mommy. Some don't have either at all. But that doesn't make them different or any less special."
"Oh. Okay, " Lily laid her head down softly on your chest. "But I want another mommy. I don't like daddies."
"And you're absolutely valid for that. Mommy doesn't like daddies either."
"I want Jennie or Lisa to be my other mommy."
You had been so close to dodging the fattest bullet in parenting history, but no, your kid really did want you dead.
"We'll see, Dancing Queen. We'll see."

I wasn't sure what to think when I had read the message aloud. "I want to talk." What could that possibly mean?
"Y/n, I'm sure you're just being dramatic. Maybe he just wangs to check up on how you've been doing, " Toruku suggests, sipping from his box of apple juice. The two of us sat against the brick wall on the outside of the cafeteria, discussing my issue. Giki and Hikishi couldn't join us for lunch because of school work that they had to finish up, and Suga had to meet his friends.
Ever since the party, the only thing that stuck to my mind was my situation with Koushi. But other than that, I had forgotten about certain things that happened. As an example, bumping into Oikawa. And as crazy as it was, the moment completely left my mind for a good five days. Until I got a message from him, saying, "I want to talk."
Oikawa, Toruku, Iwaizumi, and I have known each other ever since the beginning of junior high. The only reason we had separated was because of Moku's tragic death, and our schools. Toruku and I had decided to stick together and go to Karasuno, while Oikawa and Iwa felt their volleyball was more important than staying friends. But honestly, it wasn't that big of a deal. The older we grew, then we realized that we wouldn't stick with our middle school friends.
But what Oikawa had caused between the four of us is what made things awkward.
Around the summer of my first year of high school, we all subtly kept in touch with each other. But then after he had thrown a party around July a fight had broken out between him and Toruku because of me.
Oikawa was telling others cruel things in a group of people that were discussing school, lying about how I acted around him. That I had messed around with him, or how I was jealous of Moku for being with Toruku and took it out on Oikawa. But truth was that Oikawa was the one who liked me, and I never paid too much attention to him because of how guilty I felt for liking my best friend's boyfriend.
Iwaizumi, Oikawa, Toruku, and I all knew what Toru said were false claims that he only told for attention from other girls that he would talk to. Oikawa let his popularity get ahead of him, causing a ruckus to occur that day. The further he would go with these stories, the angrier Toruku and I had grown. Eventually, his mouth ran far enough to drive Toruku to punch him more than I had expected. Oikawa was all bark and no bite, therefore, he didn't fight back. That night is when Toruku and I had realized that we needed to move in from our past and find lives of our own. Ones that wouldn't have to ever run into the two obnoxious duo Oikawa and Iwaizumi.
So you could imagine my anger when seeing him at a party that didn't involve him.
"Uhm.." Toruku takes a bite out of his egg sandwich, munching while talking. "Just text him back! Say 'about what?' I bet that would get you answers."
I groan at his stupidity. Today wasn't the best day to have lunch with Toruku, but who else could relate to me as much as him? So, I do as I am suggested, texting back a simple reply and hoping it would lead me to the best possible outcome.
Oikawa
I want to talk
About what?
...
"Oh my god, he's typing," I say quickly, dropping any items in my hand to hold the phone in front of Toruku and me. He finishes his egg sandwich and crumbles the wrapper to throw into a bin not too far away from where we sat before crossing his arms in concentration.
It wasn't that I was excited to talk to Oikawa. I was nervous as to what he wanted to discuss with me. Other than school, there wasn't much to talk about with him. All I knew was that he turned into a jackass with an ego.
'What does he even wanna say?'
When my phone vibrated in my hands, I had thought my questions were answered. But only a simple reply was given to me.
Oikawa
I want to talk
About what?
I just want to see how you've been doing. How about lunch on Saturday?
Toruku frowns at the message. "Why would he want to have lunch after what happened?" He asks me. "Say you're busy." A protective tone overtakes him.
"Ok, ok."
Oikawa
I want to talk
About what?
I just want to see how you've been doing. How about lunch on Saturday?
I have a tight schedule, so I don't think I'm free that day.
Hmm
Sunday?
What would we talk about, Toru?
Honestly
I just wanted to see you again
You know, talk?
Mhm
But why? Soon it won't matter
Cause after I saw you on Saturday I realized I had some things to say
Please?
Okay
We'll figure something out
"Do you think he still likes you?" Toruku pops in.
"No, I don't think so. But I also haven't been able to see his development, so I wouldn't know," I reply to him. I could either ruin or glorify my relationship with him. That was a bet I wasn't sure I wanted to take. And not only that, but he also had beef with Toruku. Why didn't he ask him to lunch as well? Was it because he didn't run into him during the party?
Now I had yet again another thing to worry about. Right now, my current concern was my first volleyball practice this afternoon. Kiyoko had informed me that this weekend they were to have a practice game with one of the competitive teams. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it or not, but I mine as well have given it a shot.
To be honest, I was a little bit excited. Not only would I be able to see Suga more than in the afternoon, but I could get to know the underclassman more. That was if they even liked me.
"Whatever. I don't need to be worrying about this right now," I tell Toruku as I get up from the wall to throw my trash away. He nods, tossing his trash in the basket as well, before picking up my bag and bento, handing it to me. "Thanks for having lunch with me."
"It's no issue. Just tell me how things go with texting Oikawa and have fun at practice."
"Sure thing."
-
I waited at the front of her classroom. By her, I mean the beauty herself: Kiyoko. She told me earlier that she would run through the rooms the volleyball club uses so that I could get familiar with where I'd be going every day I attended practice. I was in good hands when it came to Kiyoko, one of my very close friends.
Finally, her classroom door opens, followed by the many students held inside to flood the hallways, including Kiyoko. "Hey there!" She throws a hand over my shoulder as we begin walking to the exit of the hall. "You excited?"
"I guess. I'm more nervous than excited," I reply.
"Don't be. The boys are very sweet. If you'd like, I can try giving you a summary of what to expect!" She exclaims, her excitement practically glowing off of her skin.
Once I nod, Kiyoko begins her full explanation of the players. "Well, we have the three third years. Me, Sugawara, and Daichi! And you already know about us. And there are only four second years. There's Tanaka, Ennoshita, Kinoshita, and Narita. Tanaka is a loud person, but he's super hard working and nice to me, so I guess he's okay. As for Ennoshita, he doesn't talk very much, but I wouldn't be rough with him. He seems like the insecure type. And Narita and Kenoshita are like him, except a little more wild! They usually stay in the back of the crowd, though. Then there are the first years— man are they talented. We have this amazing pair of first years, Kageyama and Hinata. Hinata is so good at jumping, probably the best I've ever seen, and a very rowdy boy. Kageyama is usually a prick to everybody, but he's learning to be a team player. Then there is Tsukishima and Yamaguchi. They're pretty simple to predict. Tsuki just bosses around Yamaguchi all the time and they both talk crap about everybody, but they're good friends and good players."
I can't help but widen my eyes at how fast Kiyoko had explained the players. It was as if she had a lite notebook in the back of her mind where she stored every detail about them, knowing every word she wrote like the back of her hand. "...wow, so there's some personality in the team! That's good to hear," I say, taking a deep breath before we both leave the school building and make our way behind it. "I think I know about Kageyama, though. I went to middle school with him and my old friends that were on the team with him weren't very fond of him— but that's all I know. Sugawara just tells me that he's a very talented person, which doesn't say much about his persona."
"Oh yeah! How're things with Sugawara going?" Kiyoko has no hesitation to jump towards the subject. I couldn't blame her, though. It had been a while since we had a girl-on-girl chat.
Embarrassed, I chuckle, staring at the ground as we discuss. "Nothing much. I mean— he did ask me to be his girlfriend, and we made out a couple of times, but that's it!" I act as if the actions weren't such a huge thing.
Kiyoko gasped. "Y/n! You didn't tell me that you were so close to him, I would have teased you way more than I already do! You kissed him?! How many times? When—where?!"
"Shimizu, stop talking so loud!" I exclaimed, raising my brows as the girl pipes down. Kiyoko wasn't ever the type to get so rowdy about things, that is if it didn't have to do with romance. As for that, she was a downer. And if her friend was involved with it then she wouldn't stop with the blabber. "Anyway, after the party, we both spent the night in his car. We didn't do anything but make out. Still, it was so nice," I whine. "He was so gentle and confident at the same time, and I'd never had somebody want to kiss me so badly— y'know? After that, he took me home, and we both slept in my bed for a couple of hours. Once I woke up, he wasn't anywhere to be found. Only my cat and a letter were left on the pillow next to me."
"A letter?" She questions.
"Yeah, explaining his feelings—his feelings,
Shimizu! Isn't that so sweet?! He told me that he was in love with me and never felt so passionate about anybody the way he does with me. But the thing is, I'm not even sure I wanna be in a relationship. And it's hurting both of us. I think I'm just so confused about everything that I can't even make up a decision."
"Hm, that's understandable. It's a big surprise two of my friends are getting together without telling me! Especially since they're so in love with each other. But now you're saying you don't know what to say?" Kiyoko hums. "Well, from the way you talk about him, are you sure that you're not just scared? You seem like you're head over heels, Y/n. What's stopping you?"
Suddenly, a tall shadow stops us in our tracks, interrupting our conversation. "Yeah, what's stopping you?!" A deep voice says as Kiyoko nudges him.
"Daichi, you don't even know what we're talking about!" She says. It was no other than Sawamura, acting silly again.
He wore a black jumpsuit that I assumed was his volleyball uniform and white tennis shoes, topped off with his grin. "Hey, Y/n! You excited for practice?" He asks in enthusiasm, crossing his arms. If I was being honest, Daichi always scared me when confronting me, but I knew he had my back. Therefore, the goosebumps that crawled up my spine had disappeared once I settled into his smile.
"I mean... I'm a bit nervous. But yeah, I'm excited."
Daichi claps his large hands, then points towards a grey building that was only a few meters away from where we stood under the school roof. "Great! Kiyoko can lead you to the locker rooms and the team will meet you in the gym!"
I look to Kiyoko, who's nodding. "Sure thing. Let's go, Y/n." Her hand lightly pushes me towards the direction of the changing rooms.
Once we arrived at a certain locker room, Kiyoko showed me around the place. There were sixteen lockers on each side of the wall and two benches in the middle. Lots of different sports instruments were piled up in a corner, while a few bags were tossed in another. Overall, it seemed like a regular changing room.
"Here, you can use this locker here. No one ever does." Kiyoko points to an empty silver cubby. The others that surrounded it had posters and locker decor on them, telling me they were already claimed by other girls.
I open the locker, placing a few of my things in it like my bag, school vest and tie, and my shoes. After, I turn to Kiyoko, who's standing right behind me with a black bag in her hands. "Here, this is your new uniform. The team will take you more seriously if you have it on."
Taking the baggy, I pull open the zipper, revealing folded clothing inside. It was the same that Daichi had on earlier, except it didn't come with shorts and tennis shoes. Kiyoko told me that I would only need to bring some sport shoes and a white tee to wear under my sweater. "Thanks! Are you gonna be wearing one too?"
"Not today. My uniform is dirty, so I'll be using one from him. Don't worry, once the team is used to you, you'll be able to bend the rules a bit as I do. They don't care very much." She says as she makes her way towards her locker, pulling out a light lavender jumpsuit.
'Crap, does this mean I'm going to have to undress in front of other girls? That's gonna be awkward.' I tell myself, as I hid behind the door of my locker to pull down my skirt and quickly put on the black pants. I exchange my button-up for a comfortable white tee and black sweater, before taking off a few accessories that I had on and slip them into a pocket of my bag. After, I sat on the bench to trade my black long socks for some normal ones and tie on my shoes.
"Ready?" Kiyoko turns to me, fully dressed in her uniform.
"You bet."
-
I hadn't realized how awkward interrupting a practice was until the deed was done. It was sickening, embarrassing, and terrifying.
"Hi everybody," Kiyoko says in a soft tone, setting our bags down near the door while I avoided eye contact with anybody. That didn't help the fact that every one of the players was staring at us, sitting in a circle on the ground.
A loud, raspy voice echoed through the gym, interrupting the bitter silence that ate me up. "Hi, Kiyoko! How was your day today?" I glance up at the person who jogged towards us.  He had a huge smile and short buzz cut, already telling me that he was a rowdy one. "And as for you, welcome! You must be the new manager! I'm Ryonosuke Tanaka, one of the best players on this team!" He holds out a hand for me to shake.
'So this must be the second year Kiyoko told me about. Great, I like him already.' I think, bowing before shaking his hand. "I'm Y/n L/n, nice to meet you."
"Tanaka! Show some respect for your upperclassman, will you!" Daichi comments, coming up from behind him. "I'm sorry about him. He's a wild one."
"Oh, that's alright."
When Daichi realizes I'm comfortable enough to glance at the teammates, he quickly moves out of the way. "Oh—let me introduce you properly. Everybody, this is our new manager that Takeda Sensei told us about: Y/n! She's a third-year and is here to help out Kiyoko. She's friends with us third years too, so no funny business!" He looks towards Tanaka. "That means you, Tanaka!"
He yells out, "I—I was just being friendly!"
Daichi simply playfully rolls his eyes. "Why don't you first years come to introduce yourselves, hm?" He suggests as a few boys shuffle through the small crowd to get a better view of me.
"Hey! It's good to see you again, L/n! I'm Shoyo Hinata." He bows. I recognized him immediately when he approached me. The player was short for somebody on a volleyball team and had bright ginger hair that was rough and fluffy, and he practically radiated energy when I was near him. "I hope you have a great time on the team!"
After giving him a brief smile, I shift my eyes towards a pair of first-years that seemed suspicious of my presence in the club. But one of them stepped up to shake my hand and grin. He had brown yet green-tinted hair that appeared soft, and many freckles on his face. "Hi, I'm Tadashi Yamaguchi. A pleasure to meet you!" He cautiously nudges the tall boy next to him.
He rolls his eyes at the slightest, tossing the volleyball in his hands to the ground. "Hi, I'm Tsukishima." He says in a proud tone, bowing.
Then, I fixate my eyes on the boy who stood behind Hinata, staring intently at me. Once he notices that I had caught him, he began stuttering. "I—Uh...I'm Kageyama! Tobio Kageyama." The ravenette puffs up his chest, bowing towards me.
"Ah, yes! I know about you. Did you happen to go to Kitagawa Daiichi during middle school?" I ask, tilting my head to take a mental picture of him.
"Uh..yes. How did you know?"
"I used to hang around the volleyball club a lot and knew a bit about you. But I never would have thought you would go here!" I quickly realize how rude my response appeared. "Oh, crap! I didn't mean it like that."
He shakes his head violently, shutting down my apology. "It's no issue, Y/n! It's great that you know me— I mean— thank you for recognizing me," he says loudly, bowing once more. It became obvious that Kags was a bit nervous to meet me, but it wasn't anything threatening. His bright pink cheeks were more warming than scary.
"Well, Kageyama, it's great to see you again," I giggle. Then, three boys are seen in the corner of my eye, seeming eager to say their hellos. Taking initiative, I greet them. "Uh, hi guys."
"Hey!" They say, maneuvering towards me. The black-haired one shakes my hand first, squeezing it gently. "I'm Ennoshita. Pleased to meet you." Then comes the other two: one with a buzz cut, and the other with dirty blonde hair. "I—I'm Kenoshita! And this is Narita!" He points to the buzz cut boy. "We're all second years, by the way!"
Surprised by so many greetings, I can't help but hold my hands out in front of my face. "Oh— okay! Nice to meet you, too."
Somebody abruptly suggests, "Why don't you guys give her some space?" Knowing the voice too well to forget it, I grew excited. Sugawara had arrived, finally. I was looking forward to seeing him more than anybody else. "Hey, Y/n. Glad to have you," He says, secretly winking at me.
"Thank you."
-
"Let's talk positions for the practice game," Daichi commands, lifting a dry erase board to face everybody."Here's the plan I came up with."
The club was sat in a big circle on the court facing Daichi and Takeda. I accompanied them as well, pretending I knew what they were talking about.
"I'd like to have you two working as a pair." Daichi points to Kageyama and Hinata, who gave each other low growls. "And since Tsukishima is our tallest player, I think that would give us a benefit against Seijoh."
'Seijoh? Isn't that short for Aoba Johsai?' I think, raising my hand slightly. "Uh, so you guys are playing against Seijoh?"
Daichi nods. "Yes, Aoba Johsai. We have a practice game with them this week. They're a very strong team, so we need to be in our top game. Are you gonna be joining us..or?"
"Yeah, I will. I'm asking because I know a bit about the players on that team. If you'd like, I can give you guys some advice on their style."
"Wait! Why is Hinata in the one position that needs a tall guy?" Tanaka blurts, as he points towards Shoyos name that was written on the board. It stood in front of the net doodle, telling us he'd be playing as a blocker.
Hinata takes notice of this and grows annoyed. "You're saying Tsukishima and I are playing middle blockers?!" It seemed that he wasn't very fond of Tsuki.
"Timeout!" Takeda strikes the air with his hands, before reaching to his side to unfold a small handy book. "I think I need an overview of the positions.. let's start with the setter. That's the basic control tower— the ones who set people up for attacks. Then there are the wing spikers. They're the rounder that sort of.. maintains the balance between offense and defense. And middle blockers block the other teams' attacks and score points using quick attacks. They also act as a decoy to lead away from the opponent blockers! Is that right?" He asks, looking up to the team captain for reassurance.
He nods his head, putting his palms together. "There is a position that specializes in defense, but we don't need to worry about that right now. So far, that's the positions!"
"Well, Hinata should be the 'number one decoy'!" Kageyama quickly rises, looking towards the redhead. I look towards Kiyoko who is just as confused as me about what he blabbered. "Why don't we use you as a distraction to get points? We'll be using quick attacks, that way the other spikers can do some damage! You'll take down guys like Tsukishima and take them right down the garden path like the idiots they are." Kageyama spoke in a determined manner.
Yamaguchi defended the boy, saying, "Hey! Don't imply Tsuki's an idiot!" But is quickly shut down by Tsukishima, being told to shut up. "Oh.. sorry."
'These first years sure are interesting..and rude, if I'm being honest. Why is it that they're so bossy and demanding?' I say to myself, bringing my knees up and resting my head on them. Although we hadn't done anything physical, I was beginning to grow tired.
"Hinata, when we play, you better be on your best level! If you mess up even one bit, all of our attacks are gonna start to fall apart, got it?" Kageyama strikes Hinata, making him feel frightened and cornered.
"Come on, Kageyama. Hinata is already under a lot of pressure, why say things that make him feel bad?" I whisper to him, as he began to feel concerned for Shoyo.
Tanaka pats Hinatas back, attempting to calm him. "Yeah but- blocking is the most important thing here! No matter how high he can jump, he's still a shorty pants."
What he had told everybody started a riot between the players. Each of them argued about whether or not Hinata should be one of the middle blockers. As for the third years, we rubbed our foreheads in frustration. But it wasn't as if I could expect anything different from these boys.
"Don't you worry, Hinata. As long as you do your best, the team will be proud-"
"R-right! I promise I won't mess up!" Hinata perks up while his face turned a crimson color out of stress. "I'll block as much as you want me to and be the best decoy! I'll serve, I'll do attacks, I'll block! I'll do whatever you say, captain!"
Because of how anxious he grew, he dropped onto the gym floor not long after his rant, breathing heavily. Hinata had made it clear to me that volleyball was a very serious thing for him, and other players' opinions on him meant almost everything. But thank goodness, our third years reassured him that he would be just fine for the practice game.
From how much I'd seen, I thought that the club wasn't too much of an issue to attend to. That was if I wasn't helping first years get back up onto their feet after short-circuiting. Kiyoko had even told me that I did a great job on my first day at practice. So I was sure that I'd be a benefit to the team.
Now, my biggest concern was seeing Oikawa.

6. Stay.
Chris's brain was barely functioning as they kissed, slowly. Her lips were soft and gentle against his, she was sucking and licking his lips as Chris caress her neck and slide his hand slowly to her lower back. Sofia grabbed his wrist and pulled his down under, to get a hold of her ass and Chris smiled.
“Damn, Sof—” He whispered as he kissed her neck and pull her close, sliding his leg between hers. She gasped when she felt that sweet friction on her pussy, that only encourage Chris more as he moved his hand under her shirt and lifted it, planting kisses on her belly as he goes up.
He's abruptly interrupted as Sofia pushed him off and she quickly straddles him as she planted a firm kiss on his lips. His hands go to her hips making her feel how hard he already was.
“Fuck,” She mumbles against his lips and Chris took that as a cue and moved her against him again, now she fully set down on his clothed dick rubbing her pussy alongside. Chris sat down pushing her further down as he kissed her again, Sofia began moving her hips as she used his shoulder as leverage to move.
The friction was enough to get her going and Chris was kissing her neck, rubbing his beard and holding her close.
“You're so fucking warm,” Sofía said as he pushed her hands under his shirt, feeling his muscles tense as she moans softly at Chris's ear. Chris was about to take off her shirt as an annoying ringtone started blasting from her forgotten hoddie.
“Shit,” Sofía exclaimed as she reached for the hoodie.
“Do you have to get that?” Chris asked as she tried to fish out her phone, never stooping to plant kisses on her neck.
“It's Ron,” She said triumph as she slides her finger and put the thing on her ear. “Hey boss, ” She answered as she played with Chris's hair, dischaved it more.
Chris felt like he was on a cloud, feeling beyond intoxicated as she touched him so lightly. He kept trying to take her shirt off and she swats him shaking her head.
“But-” Chris tried to argue and she mm-uhm at the phone and leans on to kiss him fully on the lips.
“Yeah, sure. I'll be there. I might take a little bit because I'm not on the hotel-yeah, sure. Alright, I'll take a few samples and meet you there.” She said smiling through her voice as she hung up. Sofia let out a sigh and look down at Chris that had to lay down to the grass. “I have to go.”
“You're kidd-wait!” Sofía was quickly on her feet as he almost couldn't move, his dick was painfully hard. “Sof!” He sat down and saw her sliding inside of her jacket and put her backpack on. She walked back inside and kissed him but on the cheek, which took Chris by surprise.
“See you,” She smiled casually, ruffled his hair, and before Chris could even answer she was out.
“Stay,” Chris Whispered as he laid back to the grass and palmed his dick. “Fuck.”
~~
"What the fuck?!” Sofía muttered angrily at herself as she wiped her cellphone and quickly texted her Jiminy Cricket.
I heavily make out with Chris, thoughts?.
Before she could even pocket her phone it rings to like.
“He—
“Fucking finally!.”
“No, Mandy. I never meant it to do that, he was talking about her ex and fucked up shit people do to him and he said he trusted me and I kissed him!” Sofía stressed herself as she tells what happened. “I almost fuck him if it wasn't that Ron called!”
“Then why did you kiss him?” Mandy asked as she shushed someone, it was probably Luke.
“I don't know!” She shouted as she crossed the street and wave down a taxi. “What I'm supposed to do now?,” Sofía asked as she gets in and quickly told the driver the address of the hotel.
“What if I ruined a perfect friendship?, because you know I adore that idiot.”
“Sofía, you need to talk about it then.”
“No fucking way.”
“Are you going to avoid Chris?”
“Fuck yes, until I can look him on the face again. Oh my God!, why I'm such a hoe?, Why I'm like this?” Sofía covers her face as the driver cleared his throat.
“Sof, don't avoid him. Chris is your friend, not some guy…” Amanda told her making her curse under her breath.
“Yes, I know that—I'll a with it later.”
Later, much much later. The meeting went more than amazing, Ron had managed to seal a deal with a bar that was a household of LA, this was a big step in the right direction.
“You did well today, kid. I'm proud of you.” Ron grabbed her shoulder and give it a warm squeeze making Sofía smile.
“Thanks, Ron, it means a lot.”
Ron smiled back at her and keep on chatting with the bar people, the place was packed but she had managed to be on a place that was kind of quiet and her beer kept getting warmer by the second.
“You need a refill?” The barmaid asked her and she nods a few times giving her back the glass. “You okay?” She asked putting back the full pint in front of her.
“I guess,” Sofia sigh and put both elbows on the counter bar. “I kissed one of my closest friends and he kissed me back and now I'm confused as fuck.”
She laughs but understood. “You like him?”
“Yes, besides that he's freaking captain America—” She laughed. “He's great, awesome and we had so much fun together. I've known him for a year now our best friends date each other.”
“So, there's been pressure?”
“You've got no idea, we mostly laugh and joke about it—he was with someone until a couple of months but he slept with her recently and he's avoiding her and I'd kiss him and he kissed me back and if it wasn't that I'd have to come here we were going to sleep together.”
“Alright, you two obviously like each other of any of that wouldn't have happened.”
“Guess so.”
“That doesn't leave much room for thinking, girl.” She wiped the counter and Sofía just hummed.
Her phone started ringing and it was Mandy calling her.
“Hey babe, what's up?”
“Hello, gorg, where you at?”
“I'm still on the bar—”
“I know but where?”
“On the last stall of the bar—why you want to know?” Sofía asked sipping her beer and heard mumble over the phone.
“Just asking for a friend—”
“Mandy no.”
“Mandy yes, you'll thank me later I know, I love yoooooou.” She sings over the phone and Sofía hung up and grunted and started to drink her beer.
“Shit.” Sofía gulped and drank the rest of her beer on one go and asked the barmaid for something stronger—she was going to need it.
“Yeah, I see her. thanks, bro, yeah yeah.” Chris spoke making his way through the crowd of the bar, it wasn't many people. He could easily see her on the back of the bar, chugging down the rest of the beer.
“Sofi,” He spoke sitting on the stall beside her. Sofía gives him a quick look and bites her bottom lip. “You run on me,” Chris said with a smile, seeing her acting this shy was… endearing.
“Yes, I know.” She hummed and nod a few times, still looking forward and made a face. “Sorry, I didn't mean that to happen—I mean, you know. Dude—I don't want you to think that—Chris, fuck. I'm sorry, I don't want to fuck up what we have.” Sofía stumbles over her words, not really knowing what to say because she didn't even know what to think about it. One thing she was sure was that she absolutely didn't want to lose Chris over anything.
“You don't fuck up nothing, sweetheart.” Chris quickly assure her. “Trust me, it's everything alright but we do have to talk about it—
“Chris—
“No, we'll talk about it.” He interrupted, sternly. Sofia sigh and nod a few times as she kept an eye on her boss.
“We can't, my boss is there and there are people and I'm trying to prolong this not talking. So, maybe back at the hotel?”
Chris laughed and Sofia covered her face with her hands, half embarrassed and half smiling. Couldn't help to feel relief that Chris wasn't giving her shit about it, it makes sense what she was saying.
“Alright,” He bows his head to then look back at her, smiling like a freaking ray of sun. “Don't panic, Sof—
“I'm not, It's just—I like you, I really like you, dude. I don't want to fuck this shit up.”
“Baby—it's not,” Chris quickly interrupted shaking his head. “I like you, in all honestly I've wanted to kiss you since I saw you at the bar.”
“Chris… really?”
“Yeah, you kidding me?” He laughed hiding his face under his hat, he was blushing. Sofía laughed and pull his cap down.
“Idiot.” She mutters biting her lip and looked around, at least no one seems to notice him. “I should go to see if Ron needs any help, you wanna stay or…
“I honestly prefer to be alone with you, I can't kiss you here.” He shrugged and Sofía rolled her eyes.
“Christopher.” He laughed again.
“Alright, alright—” He raised his hands and rub his beard. “I'll go to the hotel, okay?”
Sofía nods a few times and he laughs, making her laugh.
“What are we doing!?” She exclaimed putting both hands on her face, embarrassed. Chris couldn't help but hug her, placing a kiss on top of her head.
“We'll figure it out.”

Dog Days - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
*visual aid, not my pics* (Ben on left, kylo on top, Matt on bottom)
A/N: Please don't get the wrong idea about what this fic will be about. It will all make sense when i put out more chapters, i swear.
Summary: You work at a vet clinic in a big city near your small hometown. You want to become a vet but are only an aid as of right now. You love animals, always have, and you know there are plenty of animals in the city that need your help. But what happens when you meet 3 very strange dogs one day?
You were walking to the Veterinary clinic that you worked at. You didn't want to be late so you made a quick breakfast and took it with you. You didn't live very from the clinic so you weren't too worried about being late, and you were only a veterinarian aid, you didn't do very much anyway. Living in the city, you learned how much people really valued their pets. You had seen so many families bring in their pets that were sick or injured and the joy on their faces when you told them their animal family members would be okay always brought you joy. You had always wanted to be a vet, ever since you were a child.
You were taken away from your thoughts as you felt yourself trip over something large. You fell onto the pavement and scraped up your hands and elbows.
"Ow, what the hell did i trip over?"
You looked around you and saw a dog in front of you, sniffing you as if it was making sure you were okay. It was a black and white border collie that looked like it was mixed with a great pyrenees. You got up a bit and sat on your knees. You immediately forgetting all your pain.
"Hi there, buddy."
The dog stared at you, its tail wagging very fast. You smiled at it and the dog got very excited and jumped up on you. You laughed and pet it, trying to look for a collar. You found it and read the name.
"Ben, huh? Well that's a very nice name for a very nice doggy. I'm (Y/n)."
Ben barked happily and bounced around in front of you and then went into the alley that you were in front of, which you hadn't noticed until now. You looked at him with confusion as he barked into the alley, you got up and followed him with caution. You watched and to your surprise, there was another dog. It was a golden retriever. You squatted down and smiled at it.
"Well, hello there." You tried to coax the dog over and noticed Ben was trying to get it to come over to you as well. The golden retriever was reluctant but came over eventually. You read its collar and the name on it read Matt.
"Well, it's very nice to meet you too, Matt."
Matt's tail began to wag and he sniffed your hand before putting his paw in your hand. You shook it with a smile on your face.
"What a gentleman."
Suddenly, you heard a can rolling in the alley. Another dog? You got excited but the excitement quickly faded when you heard the dog growling at you. You did your best to remain calm. The dog was a beauceron/german shepard mix and had a scar going down the side of its face. You felt yourself tense as it got close and sniffed you. It looked at you and you noticed Ben growling at it, being protective of you. The beauceron mix had a collar too so you tried to reach for it to read the name. As you did, the beauceron jumped, then growled and sank his teeth deep into your hand. Ben immediately bit the back of the beauceron mix's neck and pulled it away from you, growling and barking at it while standing between you and the dog that had just bit you. You didn't scream out in pain, you only winced a little as it stung. Then you made eye contact with the beau mix and smiled, hiding your immense pain.
"It's okay. I'll be fine."
The beauceron's ears perked up in surprise and the it huffed and walked off into the alley. Ben ran back and joined you and Matt, who had been licking your bleeding hand. You smiled at both of the sweet dogs and pet them.
"I'll be okay, but i should really get going or I'll be late for work. I'll be sure to come visit you soon, though."
You told the dogs good bye, while holding your bleeding hand, wrapping it with some of your jacket.
After you were out of sight, Ben went into the alley to where Kylo was laying. He bit his ear as hard as he could without ripping it off and Kylo pushed him off. Ben let go of Kylo's ear and growled at him.
"What the hell was that!?!?"
Kylo huffed and laid back down on his piece of carboard.
"She was gonna touch me and i didn't want her to."
"So you bit her!? She was so nice! She just wanted to know your name!"
Matt joined his brothers and chimed into the conversation.
"I have to side with Ben here, Kylo. Biting her was way out of line. We might be dogs, but you don't have to act like it."
Kylo got up and growled at the other two, Matt backed up a bit but Ben stood still.
"Oh yeah, well how about you tell that to mister tail wagger over here!"
"I couldn't help it, i was excited. She's cute and you know how i am around cute girls!"
Ben and Kylo began bickering and biting at each other and Matt just sighed.
"We'll never be human again."
The other two stopped their fighting and looked at Matt, then each other.
----
Meanwhile, you were at work, taking bandages and gauze to wrap your hand.
"(Y/n), oh my god, what happened?!"
You looked over and saw your friend, Poe. He was a veterinarian at the clinic, and a pretty good one, too. He rushed over to you and bandaged up your hand for you. You told him about the dogs you met in the alley and explained that one of them bit you.
"We need to check for rabies! Maybe they had some other kind of disease! You can't be so reckless, (Y/n)!"
Poe was freaking out worrying about you but you just laughed.
"It's not that big of a deal. It doesn't hurt or anything anymore. I think I'll be fine."
Just then, your boss walked in. Poe was quick to rat you out, for your own good as he put it, and the boss told you to go to the hospital and not to come to work until they knew you were clear of any rabies or infection.
You left work just as quick as you had arrived and meade your way to the hospital across town. As you did, you made sure to pass by the alley again, and just your luck, Ben came rushing at you. He must've smelled you as you got closer and Matt came shortly after, both of them were very happy to see you again.
"Hello boys. I can't stay long i have to go to the hospital. But since I'm here," you rummaged around in your bag and the two dogs looked at you woth confusion, "here, i won't be needing this." You pulled out your breakfast and broke it up into 3 equal pieces. You gave 2 of the pieces to Ben and Matt who seemed like they hadn't eaten in days, and if they were in the alley, then they more than likely haven't. Then you got up and walked to the alley.
"Hello. Other dog. Are you there?" You called out, and sure enough, the growling beauceron came out from its hiding spot. It walked toward you and you smiled and bent down. You held out the food in your bandaged hand, this made the beauceron mix stop in its tracks. It looked at you then looked away as it slowly approached you. When it got a few feet away, you inched towards it, still offering it your breakfast. It looked at you again, as if asking for permission.
"It's okay, my hand is fine. I know you were just protecting your alley." You smiled at the dog and it huffed. It finally got close enough to gently take the food from your hands and then run off to scarf it down. You waited while it ate the food quickly and returned to you. You stared at each other and you held still, your hands on your knees. The beauceron mix walked up to you, and got closer and closer. Then it sat in front of you and looked away. You smiled and slowly reached for its collar, this time it didn't even move.
"Kylo Ren. Wow, that sounds like a very strong name." Kylo's nub of a tail wagged but he remained still, looking angry even if he wasn't. You giggled and the other two boys appeared behind you, Ben whining to get your attention. You turned to him and stood up.
"Im sorry, buddy. That's all i have right now. After i leave the hospital, I'll come back with something yummy for you guys, okay?" You pet Ben and Matt as you walked out of the alley.
Just as you had promised, you left the hospital and picked up some cheap burgers from a fast food joint. It was dark out, you had been at the hospital all day and now it was late in the evening, you were walking to the alley but something felt wrong, but you brushed it off. You were just outside the alley and the 3 dogs saw you. Just as you were about to enter the alley, a man came up behind you and pushed you, face first, against the wall.
"Hey there, beautiful." He whispered in your ear with a deep and gravely jersey voice.
"Get off of me!"
"Ya know, i saw you walking by and just said to myself that i had to have a piece of you."
His words sent a intense shiver down your spine. You looked over your shoulder slightly and saw it was a bearded man in a black trenchcoat and a ski mask, and he smelled strongly of alcohol and cigarettes.
"G-get off .... or I'll scream!!"
"Scream and I'll gut ya......unless..... you gimme a kiss or all your money. Heh, how about both just for safe measures?"
He pushed something sharp against your back and you cried out for help before the guy kneed you in the back of your right leg. He let you fall to the ground and dragged you into the alley.
"Now your gonna pay." He said as he lifted his hand, a knife held tight in his grip. You closed your eyes as he swung at you but you felt no cut. Instead, you heard a growl. You opened your eyes at the familiar sound.
"The hell was that?" The man turned and from the darkness emurged your new four legged acquaintance, Kylo. He walked closer, intimidating as ever, fangs bared and his eyes staring straight at your attacker. The man started to back up, forgetting you were behind him. You took the opportunity to trip him and get up to run. You ran over to Kylo and he made sure to stand in front of you protectively.
"Hell no! I ain't scared of no dog!"
The man sprinted toward the both of you but Kylo was a lot faster and ran up and bit the man's forearm. The man yelled out in pain and dropped his knife. He fell to the ground and Kylo made sure to stay biting on his arm. While he did, you rushed over and kicked the knife away. The man tried punching Kylo and that was a big mistake. Kylo let go of the man's arm and was about to chomp down on his neck.
"Stop!"
You shouted. Kylo turned to look at you. You were in front of the other 2 dogs and they were all watching as he was about to bite down on this man's neck. Kylo turned back to the man who has passed out from fear. Kylo huffed and turned back around to you and the other dogs, walking over and sniffing you to make sure you were okay. You kneeled down and hugged him tightly.
"Kylo, my hero! Thank you!"
Kylo huffed again and wiggled out of your grip. You laughed and pet him with your bandaged hand.
"Still not the affectionate type, huh?"
You got up to walk toward the unconscious man but were interrupted.
"Hey! What's going on here? Someone reported a lot of noise coming from this alley."
It was a police officer. He put his flashlight down the alley and you quickly walked towards him.
"Officer, this man tried to rob me and threated to stab me!"
You told him everything you could and he cuffed the man, then put him in his car parked outside the alley. The officer came back to talk to you.
"That man had a nasty bite on his arm. Mind explaining that to me?"
"Absolutely. You see, this dog named Kylo was in the alley and saw the man attacking me so he came in to rescue me."
"Well that's very brave. Unfortunately, they are out on the streets so I'll have to take them to the pound."
Just then, Ben, Matt, and Kylo came over to you and looked up at you. The police officer noticed their collars.
"Oh, are these your dogs?"
You looked down at the dogs who were looking at you with concern, you smiled and then looked back up at the officer.
"Yes, sir." You said happily. Matt and Ben began wagging their tails and looked at the cop with a proud posture.
"They are supposed to be on a leash if they aren't indoors or at the dog park, miss."
"I'm sorry, sir. I live just a few buildings down and they are very well trained. They always stay close to me so i was taking them out for a short walk and-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's enough. I'm gonna let you off with a warning seeing as i got more important things to deal with right now."
The police officer gestured to the man who attacked you and you sighed in relief. You thanked the officer and he went to his car and drove off. You looked down at the 3 dogs and smiled.
"Let's go home."
