Chucking Little Red into slenderman's forest to cause issues for Kokichi and Komaeda - Abno anon
Alright we got seven pages now! Only one left and we can escape!
This...took a lot longer then I thought it would it feels like I been stuck in here for months.
But soon we will be out of here and soon those who put us in here will pay!
Big and Might be Bad Wolf: Huh, feels like deju vu.
Probably because we were gonna escape but Komaeda was transported here and it reset the pages.
Sorry about that but well...you are probably lying about your talent so I cannot support you.
Either way hope will get us out of this despairing forest!
Big and Might be Bad Wolf: If we are gonna leave can I say a final farewell to the forest?
Sure knock yourself out Mr. Wolf.
*The Big and Might be Bad Wolf unleashes a bone chilling howl which echoes through the creepy forest*
Well that was...something.
I guess that might be his way of saying farewell...
Big and Might be Bad Wolf: Alright now we can go and-
*Suddenly bullets rain past the Big and Might be Bad Wolf and Kokichi and Nagito had to duck to avoid them*
Oh come on! What has been summoned NOW?!
Wait but if someone else is here then that means...
???: Get out of my way, boy! I'm having a REALLY bad day thanks to that purple juice and now HE is here.
*Upon hearing those words, The Big and Might be Bad Wolf's ears perked up and his expression narrowed*
Big and Might be Bad Wolf: Oh...you are here.
*Emerging from the woods is Little Red Riding Hood Mercenary, smoke coming out of her gun. While her facial expression is hard to see due to her mask, it doesn't take a genius to figure out she's fuming.
The Big and Might Be Bad Wolf though seems to undergo a change, gone is the big cartoony but overall friendly wolf, now he is massive, covered in scars, and looking quite demonic indeed. The Big and Will Be Bad Wolf then lunges at Little Red Riding Hood Mercenary who was busy shooting at him, and not caring if Kokichi or Nagito were caught in the crossfires*
Oh man...that girl looks like she would hang around Maki Roll a lot.
L-let's....put some distance between the two and use this chance to get that last page.

Ok I'm throwing my two cents into the ring over this topic, Since I'm seeing enough distress from other cookie run fans about this topic, I'm sorry if you keep getting these I know this is a homestuck based blog, I really should work on one similar to yours but to get to the main idea. As someone who is in the fandom, Yeah its getting quite annoying with how much shadow milk cookie we are dealing with, Especially coming from someone who is drawing art for a former popular character aka herb cookie and still does to this day. I was a bit bummed out to find out herb cookie isn't as relevant as he used to be, But then I learn on the other hand its a kinda a good thing his fame dies off for good, Ironically enough when his relevancy died out, His fanbase became much more tamer and chill, And the quality of his art increased by alot or some would even bother to start shipping him with other cookies instead of the same cookie over and over again, It felt like a breath of fresh air I kinda needed Just because a character is really popular doesn't mean specifically they will get a good treatment or get quality content and so on, There are massive flaws, For example, And for some reason the fanbase for nagito and kokichi, in danganronpa are always chaotic and weird, Despite them being the most two popular danganronpa characters. Like I'm starting to think there is some form of masochism there that I don't get.
In particular, Just because your character is no longer popular doesn't mean their bad or their going to die off soon, Hell if anything, If we are talking cookie run, This is kinda a good fate for them, Especially since devsis has the tendency to milk anything that makes it slightly successful or popular and shadow milk cookie is no exception, This is a gacha game lmao, gacha games entire purpose in general is to milk the audience out of their money and they would try every way possible, Fan service is a big player in there, And cookie run has a weird gacha game audience where it doesn't have, Horny weird people but more so your average tumblr user, So they have their own different ways of appealing to players. and if it means shadow milk cookie becoming the tumblr sexy man of cookie run Then so be it, Thats how their going to play until they get tired of that, The cookie run fanbase and the franchise as a whole functions in a really weird way, They go in moon phases instead, But its just cookie they really care about and then forget they exist. People over there have to remember this game has like 250+ characters now. But yeah keep supporting your favorite character no matter what :) Even if they don't become popular
I wonder what do you think of this, Oh you magnificent of a blog?

I full-heartedly agree! Sometimes it's nice for your character to be niche. Crazies won't be so loud and active that most can relax and improve on their art. Can even be applied to other hobbies and interests too.

Hey! Love your Madoka au. and love your thoughts on v3 remnants but Kokichi is not au. I NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON YOUR BAD ENDING (BOTH NAGITO AND CHIAKI BEING AIs) God Hajime is going to have a rough time both of his closer friends aren't alive
And Kokichi! Kokichi also is an AI!
Alrighty <3
Not sure if you want the background info, too, or just the reactions, but I'll go with the second, bc if I go with both it'll probably be long as hell.
But that much I gotta add - long story short, they knew they couldn't stop Izuru from adding AI Junko to the simulation, so Nagito was like, if you can't stop them, join them (literally what he's been doing this entire time). His days were numbered anyway.
His general idea was to essentially have two versions of himself, the one who remembered and the one who didn't. Bc, obviously, he'd be suspicious as hell if he was his more... functional self out in the open. The idea was kinda trying to gather the pieces of anybody who dies, and eventually recreate them. So that Junko can't do shit to them, even if they die. Obviously it's like under layers and layers of code and walls and other shit, made specifically by Izuru so that Junko can't penetrate these, and then there's also Nagito's luck involved. Anyway.
Chiaki dies in the Future Fundation, and she also has her... entire self essentially copied and turned into an AI - don't worry, consensually - because FF still needed an Observer.
Kokichi ends up a little different, because nobody copied him, but they created him from Chiaki's and several other people's memories of him. Probably including Izuru, who pulled the Ultimate Imposter.
Anyway, that part done.
Ending of Sdr2 ends up being a canon divergence, bc for one everybody returns to make their own choice (they still pick the reset or whatever), and they also find out this entire time Nagito and Chiaki were both dead, and also Nagito, too, was doing everything he could to save them. He's super apologetic about the way he behaved, and the thing is, through getting to know them all, he became a better person, but the game returned him to the state pre-HPA just like the rest of them. He's not asking for forgiveness, but he does want them to know he's sorry for everything. They have mixed feelings.
I also imagine Izuru also appears, bc let the boy do things. He might be pretty bad at feelings, but he knows he's upset with Hajime for throwing his life away. Not necessarily for him, but because he'd seen how much everybody loved him. Chiaki and Nagito tried not to look at him like he'd killed somebody they loved, but they missed him badly. And all the Remanants honored him every new year in various ways.
RIP Hajime. Anyway. That's for the background. Whether they can or cannot talk to the AIs post game is Idk, depends on my mood. Maybe they perma-die, or at least partially. Who knows.
Now we're back to how they feel about it post-simulation... bad as fuck.
Kazuichi and Fuyuhiko lost their best friend [I've never gotten over that ova, they're besties in my heart, viva la canon rewrites], and Kazuichi especially was such a dick to him in the simulation (to be fair, it was 100% justified, but he feels guilty). There's other things they feel upset about, but they definitely miss that weirdo and Chiaki. But obviously everybody misses them and just feels this unfathomable guilt about... not even being there when they died. Becaues they died, and they're the only ones who did. And, fuck, they loved them so much they become AIs just to try to help them. And they never got to thank them or say sorry.
Hajime, though. Hajime is devastated. Now that he remembers everything - and probably has Izuru's memories, too, even if they feel kinda weird, bc they aren't exactly his memories - for one he understands why Izuru was angry with him. Nagito and Chiaki mourned him for years. And he additionally put them in a situation where they could potentially have to choose between him and Izuru, whom they grew to love as well. And all of that ignoring how much of a dick he was to them both before he went for the surgery. The entire class 77, honestly, but these two especially, because they loved each other. And, again, they're the people he can never apologize to. Because they're gone. The last memories they have of him is him being frustrated and angry, and telling them to leave him alone. Nagito especially, he said so much cruel shit to him...
Everything sucks and he's not having fun time.
And he has a kid, apparently.
Well, not literally, he's just from two classses lower, but if memory serves, Chiaki, Nagito and even Izuru saw him as family, so the very least he can do is treat him well, the way they would have wanted.
Kokichi's pretty fun, he realizes quickly. And scarily smart. He's angry with Hajime for being a dick to Chiaki and Nagito, and it's refreshing to have somebody say things how they are - which is ironic, given Kokichi's a liar and all that. But that doesn't change the fact that he doesn't hate Hajime for it. He's surprisingly pretty understanding, he just doesn't let him get away easily. All in all, he can see why Nagito, Chiaki and Izuru loved him. He's not sure if his own feelings are leftovers fom Izuru or not, but he doesn't really care. He grows to care for the little dipshit.
It still worries him that Kokichi's going to be an Observer, given what happened to the previous one, but maybe this time

Hajime can't have shit in this world.
#hajime really lost his husband wife son and alt self in a span of like 2-3 months#danganronpa#idk if that's what you wanted but that's what you get#hajime hinata#nagito komaeda#chiaki nanami#kokichi ouma#answered

1, 5, 6, 7, 13!!
1. What was your first exposure to Danganronpa?
answered here! ʕ ᵔᴥᵔ ʔ
5. Which character would you hypothetically die for?
Sakura, Mukuro, and Miu (though i don't think Miu would be remotely grateful. that is fine)
6. Do you have a fan character? Tell us about them!
i am working on a Fangan so i have...lots, actually. still in the conceptual stage, but i have the overall plot and characters molded together. it's a weird setting but one i am extremely passionate about
7. You get the chance to reassign five characters new talents. Who do you choose, and which new talents do they get?
more Talent Swap AUs:
Sonia as the SHSL WRITER who got famous via writing novels about royalty. she now fully believes she is a conglomerate of her OCs and will politely correct you and tell you she's the SHSL Princess if you say otherwise. not at all like Himiko, though: she's got the same cheery, determined personality as regular Sonia, she's just our friend with a Delusion now
Chihiro as the SHSL BIKER GANG LEADER because it'd be so so silly if the biggest kid delinquent on the block was this tiny little nonbinary baby with squishable cheeks. he rules the Streets through Sheer Sweetness. turns out that's all most people need
Toko as the SHSL LUCKY STUDENT, Nagito vers. much the same, except she explains all her trauma away by saying that it's building up to something Very Lucky. coming to HPA? no no, that's a Little Lucky. now marrying Byakuya...she believes that is a Very Lucky Thing. (then in UDG, she realizes Komaru is her Lucky Thing. it's very romantic and homosexual)
Kokichi as the SHSL PRINCE. same concept but now he is the ruler of a small country of 10,000 people that no one's ever heard of. it is so Evil tho. nee hee hee
Kirumi as the SHSL HOPE because Kodaka himself said she could do anything. what if she was the HPA Arc mastermind? or their Kamukura? Kirumi Tojo Kirumi Tojo yas queen!!!
13. What is your OTP?
Sakuraoi, Tokomaru, and Irumatsu. however, i'm really only iffy about splitting up Tokomaru: they are the franchise lesbians for me (yes, even over Sakuraoi, since Sakura does not live in the "main" timeline). otherwise with my other OTPs i like content that features them in other pairs, as long as they're happy, even if i don't necessarily seek that content out. (ex: a big fan of Hina x Kyoko in the main timeline after Sakura unfortunately Exits Stage Death. and Miu, well, i just want someone to treat her well while also not letting themselves get stomped-on)

okay im posting my drdt connected to v3 theory now
and because it has spoilers for sure ill just spam image to make the cut thing cuz idk how (im stupid)
i think thats good uh
so basic theory, that in some way, everything is fictional. connected to the v3 lore. i dont really think i need to explain much? so heres where the theory starts
the someone being related to a canon character is kinda just something i thought was a sorta interesting idea, and i dont really believe it. theres not many connections i can make. levi has the same eye color as junko and the fashion talent and the hair kinda matches makoto or healthy nagito (though i think thats a fanon thing anyways) but since junko is dead and nagito is unlikely to have kids, those are a stretch. makoto could still work i guess? but again, unlikely.
and of course theres obviously this
if theres anything that could work for this theory i made for no reason its this, clearly david and shuichi look very similar. and if v3 is correct and the v3 cast would be the only non fictional ones, i guess david and shuichi having some family relation would be the only thing to make sense. but again, this is like a side bonus theory just for fun so i wouldnt think about it too much.
anyways and heres where i really start v3 theory
thats the basic logic of this theory. monotv lying about the tragedy, the false memories, reboot or just like a spin off in america, something like that
oh and i said this
thats it for that, lets look at the other part of the theory now
so far, a lot of what i found just surrounds this
this mv almost made ME turn into the literature girl insane
this part did remind me of v3 a lil
part where tsumugi says that theres no place for them in the outside world n stuff
and then we get to the comments part. wow. oh boy.
if these comments meant anything this could easily be like.. something with v3 and fiction. interestingly, the comments have dates that are back a while. 10 years, 4 years, stuff like that. i would say that either the comments are old and danganronpa is older and v3 wasnt the last and its been going on for a while, or the person who made this just didnt care about the years of the comments..?
if they do relate to drdt, the blanks for the "is the byakuya/nagito/kokichi" do easily fit to david.. that's prolly about him.
the lyrics are also interesting i think. the world wont change. the world wont give up danganronpa, the killing game wont stop. maybe.
bit hard to read, but on the top there's 5 letters will obviously die in chapter 5. if the spaces mean anything, theres another thing for david.
i like that blank is a protag who also plays the antag? theres a lot of spaces there. too many for me to really say who it could be. similarly, theres blank and blank totally swapped places.
this has to do somehow with teruko and david. theres the thing about david was supposed to be the real protag
cuz like.. this
the protag using he pronouns. not teruko. this could be what the comments mean?
and theres the mm blank anyone
four spaces. so.. levi, arei, whit, eden, nico.. theres a lot of 4 letter names in the cast. i dont have any mastermind theories atm, but if you do have one for any of those guys (besides arei prolly), i guess there you go.
i dont know who this could be. uh.. yeah.
this could just be a troll. or to say dont pay attention to these. i really dont know.
i guess v3 has people becoming brainwashed. i dunno.
theres something weird about this. i dont know what. but theres something. im just making note of it in case i ever have any ideas.
this is interesting. i did have an idea about this. that maybe this was supposed to be the main cast but drdt is somehow off script, maybe teruko was supposed to die when stabbed by xander, maybe teruko was never meant to be stabbed by xander, i dont know. the important thing is whats under mai's name. it looks like mr. naegi to me. this again can be connected to v3 where the cast got false memories of makoto being the headmaster of hope's peak. mr naegi.
anyways, description of the video. this
theres a bit more where it says i have always been a only child. the blanks are most surely diana chiem. it also fits david but thats prolly nothing.
what could this mean? well, think of v3. people had memories of their friends and family. but they didnt exist. they were just false memories.
there is no one named diana chiem. she's just fictional.
thats my take on that anyways.
i dont really have too much else. but back to teruko maybe supposed to die, it would be even more like v3. the girl protag being killed of, maybe to be replaced by a depressed blue haired guy?
i also found this theory in the comments
this could be true. i just wanted to point it out. i already thought eden was a lil strange at times.. (also there is the 4 letter name mastermiind comment hmmm)
thats all for today. make sure to like and subscribe for more hyperlink blocked.

You really want David to die this chapter don’t you?
//I've been very subtle about it, I know : P
//Jokes aside, I feel like people really overestimate him as a character and see way more potential than he really has. To me, he's just some manipulative asshole with a holier-than-thou view that he's doing what it takes to be a good person and he's willing to sacrifice everyone's lives to achieve it. I don't really care for people like him, real or fictional, and I feel people are way too quick to ascribe the same traits as Nagito or Kokichi to him when they really don't fit.
//But really, the problem I have is that he's been such a huge focus of this chapter that I really think we need to consider the villain, but so many people are convinced he's the rival of this game when Teruko doesn't need a rival like him. Shes is not like the other protagonists, so I really don't believe he fits that idea.
//And now, an even bigger problem to me is whether or not that scene with Arei was to foreshadow something with her or something with him. She was a much more interesting character to me, and I really hope they didn't just kill her off so he could be sad for a bit or have the exact same arc as her.
//I will admit he has complexity and there are some interesting unanswered questions there, but when you're not invested in his story, nothing he's done has really made me see whatever's going on with him as superior to what we had before.
//It's less "I want David to die" and more "I really hope this story isn't going to be all about him."

So any predictions for where v3 is going
Look if I get any more of a feeling that Kokichi is gonna die, he's literally gonna be dead. I don't think it'll be in this upcoming chapter though. He hasn't been enough of a nuisance yet for me to think his death is immediately imminent
I will say that the last chapter did *a lot* to set up that the others (even his friends) don't see Keebo as human, so I'm more than slightly concerned he's about to be dead by the end of next chapter or the reason someone kills
I need to know what's going on with my boy Kaito. I am not okay with that.
We've got to be getting close to the Ultimate Hunt part now, right? Kinda expecting Rantaro to make a reappearance in some way (maybe like Nagito and his pre-recorded message?) when that comes up because he knew something about it right off the bat
Also Tsumugi feels like she hasn't done much this game aside from following other people's ideas, so I'm full on expecting her to be the mastermind now just because she's been such a background character

Sad post-game HC’s because crying is fun
{Now playing - the good night - instupendo}
.•*.———————————————————————.*•.
.•*.———————————————————————.*•.
Nagito is very, very clingy. No matter how many times he tells himself he shouldn’t, that he is only tainting you, ruining your reputation, or worse, putting you in danger because of his luck cycle. But he still always finds himself wrapping his arms around you.
But at night, you might accidentally be woken up by his crying. He often gets nightmares of you dying because of him. You were the only, and I mean only, one who cared about him and actually put in effort to get to know him, so the idea of you dying scares him more than if he died himself.
He will cling on to you harder, burying his head against your chest just to hear your heartbeat just to make sure you are still alive and didn’t die in your sleep.
“Please…. Please don’t leave me…. I need you…. I don’t know what… what would I do…. Without you… please, please don’t…”
.•*.———————————————————————.*•.
.•*.———————————————————————.*•.
Geneside Jill is very, very territorial. If you were hanging out with your friends and come back home to her with the scent of someone else on you, she will flip. But, not at you, surprisingly. She is actually a very loyal person once you get to know her.
She will go on and on about how he is going to slice the shit out of the person that dare to be so close to you, immediately begin to check you for wounds or anything of the sort.
But as she rants, you can see the tears welling in her eyes. She had already gone through seeing another person very close to her almost die, she wasn’t about to see it happen again. Before she could stop herself, she wrapped her arms around your neck, almost like she is cradling you.
“You can’t leave me now… not when you mean so much to me. I can’t allow that to happen. Not ever, not ever, not ever, not ever, not ever, not ever, not ever.”
But if she actually sees a bruise, cut, or any sort of wound on you, she will F L I P. Not just flip, but F L I P
She would immediately emit an intense aura about her, giggling to herself sinisterly. She will reside you this would never happen again and continue cuddling you.
The next day all of the friends you hung out with were found all dead, their bodies hung out in a crucified position. You knew exactly who it was that did this awful act and you didn’t know how you were doing to deal with it.
.•*.———————————————————————.*•.
.•*.———————————————————————.*•.
Kokichi’s worst nightmare is hurting you. It’s the truth. He may make jokes, act stupid, etc, but when you’re hurt, he changes.
He hates, hates, HAAATES seeing people he truly likes hurt, especially when it’s because of him. If he makes a joke that’s a little too personal and makes you cry, he may tease you, thinking you are faking it. But when you don’t respond, he goes form jokester to soothing so fucking fast. He will try to give you a hug and apologize, but, BUUUUT, if you push him away and say you need space, this will truly break his heart.
He would go to sleep crying, pretending like it’s okay as he holds onto some sort of article of your clothing in the fetal position. His tears soak into the material as he buries his face into it, uncontrollably searching for you, but to no avail. He didn’t sleep that night. As soon as he heard you were up, he sprung out of bed and raced over to you, kneeling in front of you. He looked up with red, tired eyes, pleading for your forgiveness.
“Please… please! I know what I said was awful, and I won’t every say it again, but please give me a second chance. Please… I… I don’t think I can live without you…”
.•*.———————————————————————.*•.
.•*.———————————————————————.*•.
Kiyotaka has never really been held before. He spend his whole life having to live up to the standards that others and he places upon himself, so he never gets the opportunity to even search for love, let alone actually find it. So when you pulled him to lay down on your chest, gently paying with his hair, he was in TEARS!
The warm feeling of being close to someone, of getting to finally take a break and relax, is too much for him to take. He can’t help but let out the most pathetic sobs and rubbing his face against you. He lets out a constant string of thank you’d, apologies, anything he is thinking he should say.
“T-th-thank you, thank y-you so much.. I’m s-so sorry- please I- you’re so amazing, thank you, t-thank you, thank you!”
It should be a happy moment, but the fact that this was probably the first time he had ever been shone this kind of affection makes the scenario a lot more sad.

Can't wait to hear you talk about the after chapter 2 seeing as it indirectly influenced Sdra2 chapter 4
Oh boy and I have some interesting ideas.
Knowing how this chapter has influenced SDRA2 Chapter 4 and heck Chapter 2 of The After was my main motivation for watching the After as I wanted to know what was in it which apparentely scared LINUJ so much he made radical last minutes edits to Chapter 4.
I watched the prologue and Chapter 1 mainly so I can get context but my main analysis and focus was ALWAYS gonna be on Chapter 2. As my objective was to see what was so similar and then contextualise in my mind eye's, what I believe LINUJ's original vision was and what we would have gotten had he not watched The After.
And I think I have some solid ideas what the OG Chapter 4 are and well...they are interesting to say the least. Under the cut for The After Chapter 2 spoilers.
So this chapter spends a fair time establishing Tachihaki as a character. While he was around in Chapter 1, he was very much a loner and didn't interact with the group much, only when their lives are on the line.
He is definitely meant to be a Rival character and a foil to Konoe as while Konoe is a Makoto Naegi expy to a fault, Tachihaki is way more cynical and pessimistic. He often tells Konoe that friendship and hope are for kids and in a Killing Game those ideals will get her killed. And while he helps out in the Class Trials its only when he really needs to and if the Chapter 1 Class Trial is anything to show; he isn't afraid to use underhanded techinques.
When there is no evidence left to convict Issei of the crime, Tachihaki pulls a Phoenix Wright and bluffs to the perverted Stage Actor that Konoe has some decisive evidence. Now while she doesn't and Tachihaki knows that, this act causes Issei to slip up and reveal information he really shouldn't have which ends up costing him. He also isn't above threatening others to get what he wants.
All of this makes Tachihaki a more compelling rival character then some others I have seen because while Kokichi has used lies in the past, his lying is often used as a force of habit rather then be used to get information out of others. Especially since he's the ??? character of this fangan and while we had helper ???s (Kyoko) and ???s as the MC (Hajime) we never had one as the Rival before.
Or at least...that's what I thought was the case. Because Chapter 2 didn't go that way at all.
The Chapter opens up with us in Tachihaki's shoes for once, meaning far from being the Rival character, he's the second MC of this Fangan. While this isn't the first time we have switched POVs in Danganronpa normally this happens if there's somewhere the player needs to reach and the main character cannot get there, such as why we are playing as Nagito for a small section of Chapter 4 in Goodbye Despair, or if the protagonist's situation is uncertain. We take control of Shuichi when Kaede's guilt becomes obvious and then in SDRA2, when Sora's status is unknown, we have control over Syobai.
But this is different. Konoe isn't dead, her status isn't unknown and she isn't unreachable. Rather this is to allow the viewer to learn how Tachihaki is as a character and the best way to do that is to be literally in his shoes.
We don't stay with Tachihaki forever and this entire Chapter and presumbly for the rest of this Fangan we will switch between Konoe and Tachihaki when needed. This is such a unique take on a Fangan as never before have we had multiple POVs we switch between whenever we feel approitate. And Tachihaki really does give off Teruko vibes here as he doesn't like interacting with the others and only does so out of nessecity. Heck his opening conversation with Konoe is very hostile towards her.
Konoe and Tachihaki are very much foils for each other. Konoe is clearly a walking Genderbend Makoto, though one who's more about friendship then hope. She will place her absolute faith in those she considers her friends and do whatever she can to support them. By contrast Tachihaki hates being with the others, believes hope and despair are stupid ideals, has a much more original design to him, and will tell people to literally fuck off.
Its also reflected in their talents as we learn what Tachihaki's talent is, a shock as normally this gets reserved until the end, but that's normally because the ??? in question forgot what their talent is, here Tachihaki knows what his talent is, he just doesn't want to tell others. And its called Ultimate Hellish Luck, which naturally draws comparsions between Konoe's Ultimate Lucky Student talent.
I will put a pin into what Ultimate Hellish Luck is for now since that's a major plot point for later. But to conclude their reactions to each other are starking as Tachihaki is annoyed by Konoe and hates interacting with her, whereas Konoe is desperately trying to reach out to him but he ain't listening.
New Chapter means new areas to explore but since this is the same building from Trigger Happy Havoc I'm not gonna dwell on it as you already know what's on the 2nd floor. But what is interesting is that everyone decided that Tachihaki needs supervision so Tachihaki is forced to be around others whenever he likes it or not, hence him being forced to investigate with Ryohei.
This then turns into Tachihaki's FTEs which yes like Konoe, Tachihaki also has FTEs but his function differently. Whilist Konoe's are like your traditional ones where she spends time with the cast and deepens her bonds with them. Tachihaki's are more like him trying to avoid others but they keep finding him.
His FTE with Koin is comedy gold and I can say how much I love Koin as a character? I wasn't expecting to like him this much but he's such a chaotic gremlin like Kokichi is, but unlike him, he uses this for good. He's very much a trickster and I love him for it.
On a side note, I adore how The After handles FTEs because while like most Fangans you have vote who you want to spend time with the top 2 winners being shown, you see sprites of both the MC and character in question and these FTEs are fully voiced like the Class Trials. Despair Time is probably second best as you have 2 random characters but I admit I enjoy the fact you have fully voiced FTEs here.
Marin is also a very funny FTE due to her tricking Tachihaki into making her miso soup which is smooth play right there. I love it when you have characters of the same Ultimate Talent yet they don't act like each other? Marin, Akane and Kirumi are all Ultimate Maids yet their personalties are so different from each other its wonderful to see.
Konoe isn't excluded from the action as she does get some moments and it seems while she is still the same friendship happy girl as always, the stress of the Killing Game and Tachihaki's remarks are starting to get to her.
Thankfully it seems after the friendship spat earlier she and Chisa have patched up and are a lot better with each other now. Its interesting that while normally the friendship breakup that happens in Chapter 1 occurs, Konoe and Chisa's friendship hasn't been torn apart by it, and they managed to strengthen their bond. And its not just Chisa, as Konoe is getting a lot friendlier with the cast as Ryohei, Miharu and David all see Konoe as a invaluable person to have in their lives.
But while this is all good, it doesn't answer my question why LINUJ upon seeing this decided he wanted to change Chapter 4 so much as so far, the two chapters are like night and day. The After Chapter 2 has had a hiccup but Konoe and the others are all stronger then ever with only Tachihaki being on the sidelines but he's Tachihaki. Meanwhile SDRA2 since Setsuka was the heart of the group, her death has sent shockwaves throughout the group and everyone is breaking down from the stress of it all. The tones couldn't be more different.
And then the motive of this chapter was revealed.
The Hate Box is a rather interesting device. Hold Nova, the AI that is assisting Monokuma with the Killing Game, has been listening into all the conversations that everyone has had and any time someone has made hateful remarks to someone, its recorded and stored into the Hate Box. While the voices are distorted in tone to avoid anyone being exposed, in practise it doesn't work due to how some character speak in certain ways.
For example Kinji was exposed to be paranoid and not liking the group via the Hate Box which causes chaos and then Seiha also falls victim to it. But if one was to think these are all made up to sow discord its not as one of the remarks in the hate box is directed towards Konoe and how this person envies her due to her plainess meaning she can have a easier time finding the truth.
And we KNOW this remark is true because we heard it in the stinger between Miharu and Ryohei in Chapter 1 as its Miharu who talked about this.
Of course all of this is taken out of context. While Miharu envies Konoe to be sure, she doesn't actually hate her. Likewise neither Kinji nor Seiha were actually planning to do anything, they were just voicing their complants, but the damage was done and Retsu destroys the Hate Box to prevent anymore discord. Only once everyone has left to reveal there is one final comment and this one is way more dangerous then just complaining or being jealous of someone.
Well that cannot be good.
The Hate Box is a interesting motive to be sure as everyone has their own hidden feelings about people we don't tell others out loud and if these bad thoughts are picked up and broadcasted they paint us in a bad light. Sure like most of Monokuma's motives when dirty laundry of people is exposed there's no context and its made to sound a lot worse then it actually is. Its kinda like if someone pilled all the mean tweets someone said when they were young and drunk and used them to wreck someone's career later in life.
But hold on, using information taken out of context to manipulate others and get them to do what you want? What does that remind me of?
Oh yeah that.
While Nikei's schemes are of course different from the Hate Box its on a similar principle. Heck the fact that the tower he created is called the Tower of Babel, which is a biblical structure where people tried to work together to build a giant tower to reach the very heavens. God didn't like this so he made everyone speak multiliple languages to stop them from working together, thus explaining why we have different languages. It also makes me wonder if Nikei's means of sowing discord were gonna be more incetious then what we got but LINUJ was too terrified of what Nikei's manipulations being too similar to the Hate Box were so he changed it.
Also another thing to note is that The After is in Chapter 2 while SDRA2 is in Chapter 4. Chapter 2 the reality of the Killing Game is starting to set in but there still remains some hope. Chapter 4 you probably had to deal with whatever bullshittery the Chapter 3 culprit has and if someone beloved was killed it makes it worse and since we all know what SDRA2's Chapter 3 was like...yeah the mood will be different.
So everyone is feeling down from that and Marin decides to step it up by offering the worst thing you can do in a Killing Game.
She decides to invite all the surviving girls over to a sleepover as a way to improve their bonds.
youtube
^ My literal reaction to when Marin suggested the Sleepover.
You know what's gonna happen. I know what's gonna happen. LINUJ knows what's gonna happen. Kurono knows what's gonna happen. But poor Konoe and co don't.
So the sleepover happens Marin is a complete lightweight, and then Miharu and Konoe get a chance to talk about the Hate Box as eariler Marin confrims to Konoe she overheard the conversation between Miharu and Ryohei. Konoe is of course hesistant but after some words of encorugement from Chisa and David, she decides to have a chat with Miharu. The Assistant Detective is also thinking the same thing as the two have a heart-to-heart about the Hate Box with Miharu saying she doesn't hate Konoe, she was just jealous how easy it was for her, but she still views her as a friend. Well that sounds good-ah what I am kidding this is Danganronpa so you know shit happens.
Turns out Miharu had plans of her own and she only attended the girl's sleepover as a convenient way to knock out as many people as possible as she laced the coffee with sleeping pills to knock everyone out. Marin passed out on her due her poor tolerance to caffine and Konoe takes the longest since she didn't drink all of the tainted coffee due to having tasted some of Tachihaki's soda eariler.
Also knocking people out with sleeping pills in coffee what are you Kanade?
And with a face like that you know she's planning some shit.
We switch over to Taichihaki who is meeting with Miharu in the library. Miharu lured him out by sending him a note that says everyone will attend, but with Miharu only be there and the fact he knows there's supposed to be a girl's sleepover on tonight, means his sus meter is tingling. And for the right reasons.
Far from being the meek girl she was back in Chapter 1, Miharu decided to take matters into her own hands and try to kill Taichihaki himself. He tries to get away but due to all the injuries he's been getting he cannot get back to his room in time so he decides the next best option is the Men's Changing Rooms since due to be a woman, Miharu cannot chase him in there, only for her to catch up to him and taser him to knock him out.
What's interesting is the fact she refers to Taichihaki in this section as a criminal, implying he's done something shady in his past and that its why he's got his talent of Ultimate Hellish Luck.
Back to Konoe and after some fire alarm and blackout sheniginans, we wind up with the victim of this case, not Tachihaki like some were suspecting but rather his assailant, Miharu Kirigiri. Everyone is shocked over this but Ryohei in particular seems to be shaken. It makes sense though seeing how he was the closest to Miharu. And this shows some growth from Konoe.
Last time when a friend wound up dead, Konoe wanted to NOPE out of the crime scene and she literally had to be threatened by Taichihaki to stay put and she was very unwilling to do the whole thing. Here though she's more determined as she wanted to prove to Miharu that her faith in her wasn't in vain and thus when everyone else is screaming and panicking, Konoe takes central stage and starts to investigate.
Another interesting thing the After does is how it handles skills. Since there's no gift giving in this Fangan, how it works is when Konoe forms a close bond with a character, she gains a skill coresponding to them. She obtained skills from both Chisa and Tachihaki last Chapter to help her overcome the Class Trials but here she obtains a skill tied to Miharu, the ability to see where to investigate. It really makes you think you are playing the game with all of these gameplay like mechanics in it.
At first Konoe investigates with Ryohei and Chisa as you would expect, but when Konoe starts to get sus of Ryohei she decides to break away with him, though Chisa still tags along as all the evidence is pointing to Taichihaki being the killer but Konoe isn't convinced he is. This eventually leads to them finding Koin in the library where he has quite the interesting article.
In this article it mentions an incident where 16 high schoolers were kidnapped and all were killed via beheading. Well...all minus one as one person, highly suspected to be the culprit managed to get away and because of how lucky they were they were called the Ultimate Hellish Luck, and as Konoe looks at the names, it reveals that yes this is talking about Tachihaki. Furthermore among the victims there is Miyuki Seki which seems to be related to Ryohei. While Seki is a common surname, its Danganronpa so we know they are connected.
This how I mentioned the luck between Konoe and Tachihaki is different because while with Konoe she gets hers in a lottery and its all innocent and fluffy, Tachihaki's luck is from the fact he got away with a horrific crime and he quite literally has the devil's luck.
And when Konoe confronts Tachihaki about it, he doesn't shy away from admitting he's the murderer from the case, and says that this is why they should stay away from each other as it would just lead to suffering. But during the talk he hesistates and looks to be in pain, so there's clearly more to the tale then we think.
Some gears were turning in my head but nothing about Chapter 2 so far would in my view cause LINUJ to freak out and change Chapter 4 of SDRA2 so much due to fears of plagurism. Sure there's SOME similarities but I feel both games are different enough that no connection can be made. That is until I got into the Class Trial.
And then it all came into place.
Opening was goes as I suspect as Miharu's deceit becomes clear but then another glaring contrdiction becomes obvious. Miharu is the kind of person who never does anything on her own and yet she came up with a complicated plan to kill Taichihaki? No it was clear she was a accomplice but who was pulling the strings? Well it all comes down to Ryohei Seki as not did he have a strong motive to want to kill Taichihaki but his behaviour has been rather sus. Ryohei tries to get Konoe to stop but she doesn't relent and so...his true self is revealed.
That's right we have another David Chiem moment where Ryohei is revealed to be a complete scumbag and also the one who made that last hateful statement, who was suspected to be Taichihaki at first as the audio didn't finish due to its damaged state. Now you normally think due to my love of bastard characters I would adore Ryohei for this twist and my interest in his character would be spiked. But that's when you are dead wrong.
I HATE Ryohei.
I completely hate and utterly dispise his guts. In fact I was talking to Timeline Anon while watching The After and let's just say I managed to get so mad and go onto tangants what I would like to do to Ryohei that she got completely freaked out since I unleashed my sadistic side that I have within me. I am not a person who is easily angered but when you get me mad, hooo booyyy...
So why do I despise this police officer so much? Firstly the way he treated Miharu. Miharu looked up to him, saw him as a dear ally and furthermore its strongly implied she was actually having romantic feelings for him. So when she heard the last statement of the Hate Box and thinking its Taichihaki, she goes up to Ryohei and asks him for advise on what to do.
And what did Ryohei do? He completely played her like a fiddle and used her as more or less bait for Taichihaki to kill. And despite him saying he knocked her out because he didn't want her to suffer, its complete bullshit. He never gave a single damn about Miharu and just used her as a means to a end. Miharu fucking deserved better then this.
His true personality and ideology is a unholy mix of Tsurugi Kinjo and David Chiem but somehow, Ryohei manages to be even more deprived then both of them combined. While like Tsurugi Ryohei is a complete Knight Templar who sees criminals as monsters to say, there's a huge difference between the two. The worst Tsurugi does in Danganronpa Another is tell people to kill themselves and yell a lot. Meanwhile Ryohei thinks because he's a police officer and thus is good, everything is okay if its for justice. Even acts like murder are okay if its for a "good cause." When Tsurugi realised he was indirectly responsible for all the deaths in DRA he tried to off himself to take responsibilty for his actions. Tsurugi knows what is right and what is wrong and doesn't hold himself to be above the law. Ryohei has none of that and thinks he is the law.
And like David Chiem not only is the real Ryohei rude, jerkish and sees everyone around him as expendable, but they also have the same hellish sprites. The big difference is when David was exposed in Despair Time Chapter 2, ultimately he had jack little to do with the actual murder case and there is evidence that Arei's words might be getting to him so there's a glimmer of hope he could change. Meanwhile Ryohei is pretty much the mastermind behind everything wrong in Chapter 2 as he gets Miharu and the culprit of this case killed and has zero regrets over it.
But hang on I hear you ask, doesn't this whole thing about Ryohei remind you of someone else? Someone who I happen to love very dearly? So why do I adore that person but thinks Ryohei should be fed to the hounds?

Yeah there's no dancing around it, Nikei's plan and Ryohei's plan are eerily similar to each other. And something I KNOW LINUJ took note of and made chances to reflect this.
Think about it, their plans involve getting revenge on someone and making someone the culprit who also happens to be the Deuteragonist of the story. And they both also have similarly eerie breakdowns in the Class Trials. But what doesn't make sense is why I love Nikei so much but not Ryohei.
The big difference is intent. There's a lot of evidence to indicate that Nikei wasn't always the grade A douchebag he was in SDRA2 and that circumstances like Mikado, the Tragedy and the Killing Game pushed him to his breaking point. The other major difference is that there is proof that contrary to what others say; Nikei DOES have empathy and cares for others. Look how he reacted to Setsuka's death in Chapter 3. It goes far beyond then him being pissed Kanade ruined his plans, almost as if he actually cared for Setsuka as a person and that person is torn away from him.
Now you could argue that Ryohei is also driven to this point as he wants to avenge his older brother who was killed by Tachihaki allegedy, but would Miyuki want this? I don't think he will as it seems to me that Ryohei was always this twisted. But since Nikei always kept himself at a arm's lengths from the others and never tried to get close to them, the betrayal doesn't hit as hard. Meanwhile Ryohei inserted himself at the heart of the group and throughout the start until the class trial, he tries to present himself as this trustworthy and kind person. Nikei using Yuki and Shinji was cruel, true, but it wasn't personal since he never bother developing a bond with them.
Imagine if Nikei treated Setsuka in a similar way, and how mad people would get, and this is what Ryohei's and Miharu's relationship is.
Nikei has a heart but its grown cold due to his situation. Ryohei never possessed one to begin with.
And since the plans are so similar its made me think since well we know LINUJ made edits due to this chapter to Chapter 4 what was the original SDRA2 and as such I noticed some things which feel off.

The first is Nikei's backstory or rather the lack of knowing it. Its become a recurring joke in the Another fandom that we don't know Nikei's backstory, but the fact a major antagonist doesn't have theirs revealed while everyone else does is a bit of a fail from LINUJ's front.
Thing is why didn't LINUJ reveal his backstory? All the other Voids had theirs revealed but why not Nikei's? Almost as if he had a place to reveal it but it would never come.

The second clue is Press Confence; Nikei's execution. In the execution Nikei is missing his trenchcoat. When asked why it wasn't there, LINUJ explained it was a pain to animate so he opted to remove it.
But its not the first thing this has happened. Back in Danganronpa Another it was originally planned that Satsuki would be the victim in Chapter 4 while Haruhiko would be the culprit. The reason this got swapped was because LINUJ had a extremely hard time animating Haruhiko's execution, so he decided since the motives for Haruhiko and Satsuki dying are more or less the same, it would be easier for him to swap the two around.
So the fact LINUJ struggled to animate Press Confence is proof that it probably was never the plan to kill Nikei like this, but something changed.
And then there's the one thing I will never shut up about SDRA2's Chapter 4 on how BS itself; the last second rule change to kill Nikei.
I hate this due to how left field it was and there was ZERO sign earlier in the game that Mikado could do something like this especially with the virtual world being all glicthy like it is. Its stupid and almost feels like it was added in the last second.
Which now makes me think...
What if this really was added in at the last second? What if LINUJ needed to kill Nikei off but couldn't do in a decent way and so decided this, as scummy as it is to kill him off?
Okay so add this all together and what does it mean?
Well...if we take into account all the inconstincies in SDRA2's Chapter 4 and the knowledge that not only Nikei and Ryohei's plans are pretty darn similar and if even if you don't agree, LINUJ certainly thought so. And with it I come to my first major deduction from watching the After Chapter 2.
Nikei wasn't meant to die in Chapter 4. He was meant to live to Chapter 5 where he would presumbly die but he was killed due to Ryohei surviving his chapter and LINUJ was afraid of the two being compared if he did so.
This resolves everything.
Why is Nikei's backstory not talked about? It was meant to be talked about in Chapter 5.
Why does Press Conference has so many animation problems? Because Nikei wasn't the original person targeted for execution, someone else was.
Why was the rule adding that Voids cannot leave such a arsepull. Because it was a arsepull from LINUJ so that Nikei doesn't get compared to Ryohei.
Now though Nikei would have survived Chapter 4 I don't think for a second he would be a survivor because as much as my heart would like that, I'm also realistic. Nikei has openly declared war on Mikado and while he would have lost a lot of faith with the group with his stunt, he wouldn't give up. As such I believe Nikei would be the victim of Chapter 5 since Mikado would want him dead and it also solves my biggest gripe with the Voids is that none become victims. Well normally it wouldn't make sense for them to die, but in this case it does and you could even go the same spiel of Iroha being tricked by Mikado to kill Nikei but Mikado gets in first and gets first blood.
But an extra chapter of Nikei would have allowed him to get to grips with the situation maybe make up to the protagonists, reveal his backstory and hopefully he dies with some satisfying conclusion. Is it wishful thinking from me? Is it on the same level as that dumbarse theory that Kokichi lived past Chapter 5 in V3? Probably and I will admit I am a bit biased here, but its what I felt was something that was changed due to the similarities.
This is also another reason why I hate Ryohei so much. His actions in The After are deplorable enough, but the fact he manages to catch another body in a completely different Fangan due to LINUJ feeling insecure about being compared? And while I do like Miharu as a character and I find the culprit to be dope, I don't love them on the same level as I do with Nikei. And the fact the true culprit behind Nikei's demise is some wannabe Tsurugi with a justice complex and has the personality of a narassitic arsehole?
It says a lot when I want to abuse someone's phobia against them.
And then the hate levels of Ryohei keep getting worse.
As the trial goes on eventually Konoe manages to uncover how Ryohei killed Miharu despite having a airtight alibi for the times she died as he set up two timed mechianics one to set the fire alarms off to alert Taichihaki, and then a second one that triggers when someone opens the door to electrocute Miharu. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that Miharu joins the ranks of Xander and Kanata of being electrocuted to death.
But then a horrible truth comes out that despite Ryohei being the mastermind of the case...and how by all common sense he's the culprit, due to the fact he didn't land the killing blow on Miharu, he's not the blackened but rather Taichihaki is. As he opened the door which triggered the trap. And Ryohei wastes no time gloating to Konoe that she did everything he wanted from her to as despite his reputation being in the toilet with the others, due to Konoe's instance everyone is friends, he will contiune to be her friend, right?
I imagine what I felt is what the likes of Creeper, who I know despises Nikei to his core, felt in SDRA2 Chapter 4 when they believed that Nikei was gonna get away with everything he's done due to the rules of the Class Trial. However its once again made worse because at no point did Nikei try to rub it into Sora's face that she played right into his hands and is still dancing on his puppet strings.
This is also when I was at my worst with my rants and ramblings on Ryohei. Again not showing them because it was just unfiltered anger from me, but suffice to say the lack of availability of The After sprites is the only thing saving Ryohei from my wrath as I would have subjected him to so much torture on the sketches.
Unsurpisingly Konoe goes through a breakdown at this point as she feels its all for nothing, not to mention Taichihaki himself thinks he is also the culprit and thus is more or less accepting of his death. But then she realises this would be conforming to Tachihaki's idealogy and she wants to prove him wrong so she decides to find a way to prove him innocent.
And its not just Konoe who feels this way. Others like Marin notice something off and decide to keep the Class Trial going. Everyone who supports Konoe in the upcoming scrum debate has their own reasons. Chisa trusts Konoe so she stays by her side. Reishu just does whatever Chisa does. Kenji just wants to prove Ryohei wrong after being tricked by him for so long. Kota thinks its BS someone is the blackened considering they open a door and Marin not only noticed some things off, but she also cannot stand that Ryohei manipulated Miharu the way he did. Remember Marin saw the conversation Ryohei and Miharu had at the end of Chapter 1 so she must have picked up that the assistant detective was falling for the police officer and that's the worst kind of man to her.
And its Marin who delivers the first breakthrough as she notices the BDA doesn't go off until Taichihaki came in the second time to see Miharu's body. This is shot down by Monokuma immediately but it does allow Konoe to then take notice of Miharu's e-handbook and as it possesses the ability to record images she asks Hold Nova if the e handbook which is currently broken has any images on it. And the good news is that it does!
At first this is more evidence to incriminate Tachihaki over since as Miruki can atest to, he has a injury on his right hand. But after noticing how the letters on the soda can are reversed Konoe notices that it means its the left hand instead where Tachihaki has no injuries thus he's not the culprit! Hooray right, but then who's the real culprit of this case?
Its David Fitzgerald Masuda, the Ultimate Onmyoji. As it transpires, that despite how much Miharu trusted Ryohei, part of her had some doubts so by drugging the girls, Miharu blackmailed David to come to the library as insurance in case Ryohei does something.
And since we know he does double cross Miharu in the end, this means David walks in on him having witnessed Tachihaki left the crime scene and seeing a chance to get the perfect crime, walk in and kill Miharu with the taser so he becomes the blackened. Then all he has to do is just say nothing and he wins. Its a rather clever idea to hijack someone's scheme like that and something that Ryohei doesn't like at all.
But hold on? Someone walks in on someone committing a crime and decides to take advantage of the crime to become the blackened? Again this feels familar...
Yep, David and Sora did exact same thing, they walked in on the crime scene and decided to alter it so that the person they saw kill didn't come the blackened.
The difference is that David killed Miharu himself whilist Sora tried to use Nikei's hand while he was unconcious to do the deed. But this also feels like a last minute change.
In fact there is something about Sora that needs to be addressed and that's her relationship with Akane Taira.

You see Sora being an AI was not the original plan for her. Originally it was penned that Sora was Akane Taira abet without her memories, and at some point she was gonna to regain them. However by the time Chapter 4 of SDRA2 was being written this was a popular fan theory in the Another community and LINUJ didn't like the fact that everyone guessed his big twist with Sora already.
So he commits the one cardinal sin of any writer; he changed the twist so that Sora was an AI. Now while this isn't nearly as bad as some other last minute changes as it was done early enough to help foreshadow it in the next 2 Chapters, its still a very bad writing error. This explains why Sora starts acting weird in this Chapter whilisit if the twist was there from the start, we could have had more signs the previous chapters of Sora being an AI.
I don't know if this is good or bad as while while I love Akane, I also love Sora and this twist would have basically made Sora no better then Ryoko from Danganronpa Zero, and she would just be a nothing character.
The other factors to consider is also how LINUJ writes and sees stories in general. He imagines Chapter 1-3 and Chapters 4-6 to be two halves of a story so in his mind's eye Chapter 4 is like a Chapter 1 in terms of plot. Its why Kanade is the way she is in Chapter 3 because she was meant to be the "final boss" of the first half of the story. A Disc One Final Boss if you so please.
And then here is how he sees Yuki and Sora. While Sora is the character we control, as far as LINUJ is concerned, Sora is a decoy protagonist as the true protagonist in his mind is Yuki Maeda instead. The other thing to consider is that LINUJ is not afraid to go where Kodaka and Spike Chunsoft wouldn't dare to do. He played it safe in Another 1 but in SDRA2 since he is more established, LINUJ was more willing to go for brave and bold ideas for his story.
So with David snipe killing Miharu and fucking over Ryohei in the process, and seeing how Sora's original character arc was to go PLUS some insight into LINUJ's mind, it leads me to my second deduction.
As while I was able to figure out that Nikei was meant to live past Chapter 4, the one burning question in my mind was "If Nikei wasn't meant to be executed, then who was?"
At first I thought maybe Shinji or Teruya but neither of them made sense. Shinji could have killed say Teruya in order to protect the others especially as since Teruya was going crazy at this point, it wouldn't be illogical. But it would involve the story being changed a lot and while I know the story we got is different to make it not too unsimilar to The After Chapter 2, it was too much of a leap in my eyes.
But then with David's actions, I then came up with a unbelivable option, one I suspect most of you won't agree with, heck I know Timeline Anon didn't like it too much but its where my logic is going.
The original Chapter 4 culprit was meant to be Sora and then we would have shifted control over to Yuki Maeda.
The fact we lose control of Sora for a segment of Chapter 4 and have control over Syobai for the investigation and the first half of the Class Trial, is proof that we weren't meant to have control over her. Basically Sora would have seen Yuki kill Shinji, and possibly Nikei was nowhere in the area being somewhere else to establish his alibi or something and then being driven to protect Yuki no matter what she then kills Shinji.
It would be absoulately heartbreaking and be like V3's Chapter One all over again where you have to prove Sora's guilt and the fact Sora's execution Deep Sea Dive isn't that hard to animate is proof she was meant to be on the chopping block. The question is if this happened how would people react?
I think there would be some anger that we cannot keep a female protagonist alive, and the fact Sora sacrificed herself for Yuki's sake feels like fridging but unforunately LINUJ is highly guilty of fridging so it wouldn't be too illogical for him to do this. But it would be DEEPLY shocking as most expect protagonist deaths to be in either Chapter 1 or Chapter 5 so to not disrupt FTEs, but in Chapter 4? That would have taken the wind out of everyone's sails.
The other plot hole would be Divine Luck but maybe Sora survives her execution without the others knowing and fully awakens to Akane Taira? It really depends what the OG plan for Sora was in all fairness which I wouldn't know about.
Honestly I don't even know if this would be a good or bad idea for LINUJ to do. But you cannot dispute that it would be something he would do and would be shocking to the audience.
But since David did that, LINUJ decided to change it so Sora tried to kill with Nikei's hand and thus she doesn't live. Heck the fact that the true culprit was selected by HANDS is proof of the pudding there.
I do love that since Konoe has developed a bond with David and treasures her friends much, she cannot have the heart to convict but having since learnt its not weak to rely on others, she passes the protagonist torch over to Tachihaki so he can condemn David instead. Its a smart move of the already established protagonist switch mechanic in this Fangan.
Trial over and David reveals his motives which are quite complex. Firstly due to his ability to see ghosts, he could see the haunted souls of the victims of the last killing game Taichihaki was in. Yeah turns out the Ultimate Hellish Luck incident was another Killing Game, but since Taichihaki fucked up and got his deductions wrong, everyone died expect for him. So as a result Taichihaki has got valuable knowledge to assist them but needs to warm up to the others first so he needed to live. And since he's developed a close bond with Konoe when Miharu threatened to have her and the other girls harmed if he didn't cooperate he decided to go along with the scheme.
Ryohei also goes ballistic as his perfect plan was ruined by David and furthermore since Ghost Busters, David's execution was quite mundane, it doesn't give the deranged police officer the satisfication he wanted and I suspect if Taichihaki was killed, he would go as plain as that as well. And since David cursed Ryohei with a fear curse, he's gonna go through a slow breakdown throughout the game.
Overall that is Chapter 2 which like most Chapter 2s is very much a emotional rollercoaster though this manages to be a heartwrenching one throughout the entire Class Trial. I will fully admit I wasn't expecting much from this Fangan as I mainly went into watching it for the comparison to SDRA2's Chapter 4.
But this actually turned out to be a fun Fangan and one I really hope gets a full English dub at some point, because its such a underrated gem that I HIGHLY recommend anyone to watch. And if Chapter 3 is subbed well enough at this point, I will watch that as well.
And its also enlightened me on how I believed SDRA2's Chapter 4 would have gone had LINUJ not been insecure. And the fact he regrets how Chapter 4 has banned is him realising how stupid he was. I don't know how popular The After is in South Korea so maybe its more well known then it is in the West? Wouldn't surprise me if it was and that's why he decide to make changes.
Either way thank you for listening to this really stupidly long response to an ask which turned into a essay.
#review anon talks#danganronpa the after#danganronpa the after chapter 2 spoilers#drta#super danganronpa another 2#sdra2#this is a long arse essay#and thus i recommend breaks#but i hope you enjoy it

if ur reading this on february 26th then there's a movie night on the discord just saying it's a horror movie
currently listening: living dead girl by rob zombie

-Mod Souda
Kokichi Ouma
❤ It's fun to have you around. You always look at him with such wonder in your eyes. People usually look at him as if he's a public clown, which he is, but even when he's outside of the relation of DICE - nobody ever takes him seriously. The way you stare at him is as if he is the prime minister. Why do you like him so much? He doesn't understand at all. If he asks you, will you tell the truth? Is there really a reason for you to lie? Out of everything he has doubted you for, honestly, he has never doubted your love for him.
"Pick one," you hold a box in front of him, different flavors of the same brand of coca-cola, shaking it a bit to emphasize your impatience. He'd sit there and stare at it for an eternity if he knew it would get you annoyed. "Pick one now."
"What if I don't want to?" He looks up at you through his eyelids.
From the angle he almost looks sadistic, but you don't get affected by his plays.
"Too bad, I'm offering so you have to take one."
For another second the two of you are still. He contemplates how long he can continue pressing you while you stand there, waiting.
He snatches one at random, eyeing you to see if you'd critique him for his rudeness. Instead, you just smile, thanking him for actually grabbing one.
You're so strange, he thinks, watching you as you walk away with a satisfied look on your face.
❤ The word "S/O" is a key here because I think if the feelings were not reciprocated + specifically in the killing game then this is uhh a recipe for disaster.
❤ If he wants to throw a prank on somebody and nobody else agrees to help him, he'll ask you. He knows you'll say yes (and you always do).
❤ You're always a helping hand. Does he need you to go shopping for stuff he doesn't want to be looped back to him? Easy - you can buy it for him!
❤ Every morning when he walks into the kitchen you say good morning to him in a consistent, joyous tone. Every morning it is the same - and he loves it more than anything.
❤ He usually hates it when people lower his voice towards him; when people talk to him softer. But when you do it, it makes him melt on the inside. Your eyes show a wide range of concerns - you look like you'd burst out crying if he said he wasn't feeling okay.
❤ The way you genuinely enjoy his presence and worry about him is just something that makes him stick to you.
❤ He feels so grateful that you chose him out of anybody else.
.
Nagito Komaeda
❤ Whenever he needs reassurance, you're always there. He feels as if you put him in front of everybody else, as if he is the only man in the world. His self esteem is incredibly low at times, and he knows this as much as you do, so when he needs to be held and when he needs to be whispered sweet words to, he will crawl into your lap and put your hand on his head.
He bends down, sitting you on the couch as he ties your shoelaces. Seeing him like this seems unnatural - him bending for you, treating you as if you're royalty. You'd feel much more comfortable if the roles were reversed.
"Komaeda," you start.
"Nagito." He moves to finish tying the other one.
"Nagito," you say. "You don't need to do this."
A small smiles lands on his face. He holds in a laugh - you're so cute, so simple. Of course he needs to do this. "What do you mean?" He faux's ignorance. "Why wouldn't I?"
When he finishes, he grabs your wrist and presses a kiss to it.
Your hands start to shake. "I mean - I'm the one that likes doing things for you, you really don't have to treat me like this, it's perfectly okay."
"You shouldn't be so gracious to somebody like me..." He holds your wrist, not letting it go, bringing it to his mouth once again. "You are a being far above myself."
❤ You ask him if he's okay all the time - you've got this sense to whenever he's not feeling good. It surprises him every time. Do you really pay attention to him that much?
❤ "Do you need a kiss?" You'll ask him, and when he nods shyly you take his face into your hands and kiss all over him, making dramatic noises with each one. It always makes him smile.
❤ You brush his hair and you make sure he brushes his teeth every day. The two of you brush your teeth together to get him into the habit.
❤ He loves making you laugh - you look absolutely beautiful when you give him that approval.
❤ ^ Usually he'll make people awkwardly laugh in an uncomfortable way but you actually laugh at the things he says. It's a miracle.
❤ You're a miracle - a gift. You're proof of his good luck.

G-eetings: Shuichi had the universal childhood experience of climbing up the stairs on all fours you: that's so many stairs
komaeda anon: Can confirm you never fall if you run on all fours. Kokichi also does this
G-eetings: Literally like living in a huge mansion is nice but my god is it a work out
you: How many times a week do you think Naegi falls down the stairs? G-eetings: 7, one for every day, it humbles him. Dw he’s come to expect it so now he walks around with knee pads you: Heading down staircase #2 like “Oop better get my knee pads on” G-eetings: “Nice I got down, alright that’s 2/25" He falls down staircase 3.
firedemongaming: I think by that point Elevators. you: that can crash??? firedemongaming: Stairs cause more Deaths per year I'm pretty sure. Annually 50 people die because of elevator crashes per year in the us, compared to that 12,000 people die from slipping on their stairs Nanami anon: elevators are HELLA engineered. You'd need Nagito levels of bad luck for one of them to fall, speaking from experience elevators are far more likely to hiccup and trap you inside without going anywhere than to fall firedemongaming: And with 25 sets of stairs, your chances of slipping are increased exponentially IrlDragonArt: And elevators and ramps can help with access firedemongaming: How are Makoto and Kyoko (who both have mobility issues) supposed to live in a house without accessibility considerations? IrlDragonArt: The only thing that ramps have over elevators in this case is they can look nicer firedemongaming: I don't know, you can get some pretty fancy elevators, also it's easier to conceal an elevator and make it blend in with a wall. Double grand staircases usually have a filled in bit at the centre which would be perfect for containing an elevator or 2 as well
and then you guys talked about smoking headcanons, I am not copying that
I still think elevators are too much of a risk
#eggs can answer#smoking head canons are discord exclusive lmao#also uh I’m sorry but you know what can catch ON FIRE????? not STAIRS

You're doing the ask game!! *hands you Kokichi in my open palms*
THANK YOUU
favorite thing about them
Kokichi Ouma is an unbelievably tragic character. He's trying to save everyone. He can't, won't, trust anyone. He sacrifices everything, even ultimately himself, to try and stop the killing game, in vain. He lets multiple people die specifically for his plan, which fails. Idk man i have a lot of feelings about this guy
least favorite thing about them
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i can't actually. Think of anything? Like the most obvious thing would be chapter 4 but i actually love how that turned out, plot-wise. Like i didn't want Gonta or Miu to die but i actually really like the way it went
favorite line
"I stole your heart, so now I'm satisfied! I don't need to steal your life anymore!" OR "The killer is Gonta." because that was just . Man
brOTP
Cross-games but honestly, the antag trio is so funny to me. Byakuya hates being here. Nagito is obsessed with the both of them. Kokichi is here to cause chaos. Alternatively they absolutely click for some reason and they're three gossipy bitches.
Also Celeste and Kokichi would be a fun dynamic.
OTP
SAIOUMA. idk if you noticed but . They are my favorites. I'm also not opposed to oumota!
nOTP
Uhhh I personally think of Rantaro and Kokichi as having a sibling-like relationship, so I don't really like seeing them shipped too much. It's fine though they DO have an interesting dynamic regardless of the kind of relationship
random headcanon
He has freckles. This is the highest honor i can bestow upon any character
unpopular opinion
Uhhhhh idk
song i associate with them
buddy i have got a whole playlist. BUT i'll pick one. Dear Dictator by Saint Motel is so kokichicore you wouldnt believe
favorite picture of them

So I noticed that a lot of people in the Danganronpa fandom tend to use the term “psychopath” for characters that do anything considered morally reprehensible, and usually, but not always, in a negative manner because they don’t like said characters. So I thought I’d discuss that.
Note that I am not a psychologist, and do not claim to be making 100% accurate diagnosies
The characters most often given the label of psychopath, and the ones I’ll be looking at, are Junko Enoshima, Genocider Syo, Mikan Tsumiki, Nagito Komaeda, Monaca Towa, Kokichi Ouma, Korekiyo Shinguji, and Tsumugi Shirogane.
Now, before we proceed, we must first define what psychopathy is and its symptoms, as well as its relative, sociopathy.
Psychopathy, also known as Anti Social personality disorder, is defined by the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition) as follows.
“APD (Antisocial Personality Disorder) is a DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition), diagnosis assigned to individuals who habitually and pervasively disregard or violate the rights and considerations of others without remorse. People with Antisocial Personality Disorder may be habitual criminals, or engage in behavior which would be grounds for criminal arrest and prosecution, or they may engage in behaviors which skirt the edges of the law, or manipulate and hurt others in non-criminal ways which are widely regarded as unethical, immoral, irresponsible, or in violation of social norms and expectations. Those with APD often possess an impaired moral conscience and make decisions driven purely by their own desires without considering the needs or negative effects of their actions on others. Impulsive and criminal behavior is common. The terms psychopathy or sociopathy are also used, in some contexts synonymously, in others, sociopath is differentiated from a psychopath, in that a sociopathy is rooted in environmental causes, while psychopathy is genetically based.”
If you couldn’t be bothered to read that wall of text, psychopaths have an impaired moral and empathic center. To be clear, this does not make all psycopaths and sociopaths criminals, though criminal behavior is fairly common. A lot of people with this condition actually end up being pretty sucessful.
So what are some of the symptoms? For one, psychopaths feel no remorse for there actions, lack empathy, and said actions tend to be pretty self serving. They also lack a generally ability to tell right from wrong. They can also be quite impulsive and agressive, and have a general disregard for the well being of themselves and others. And finally, they’re manipulative and deceptive for the purpose of profit or self amusment. They may also derive pleasure from the pain of others.
As a side note, psycopathy is a natural condition, whereas sociopathy arises from environmental conditions. (It’s a bit more complicated than that, but for our purposes, its enough.)
So, with that established, lets take a look at that list, shall we? First off, the characters I don’t believe are psychopaths.
Genocider Syo
Now, this one might confuse people, but hear me out. Genocider is mostly just crazy. She’s really not all that socially manipulatve, and from what I remember, she does have some amount of empathy. She also does end up caring for Komaru. So yeah, mostly just a bit crazy.
Nagito Komaeda
Most of his behavior, I believe, stems from his diseases, namely his dementia, and Nagito is a fundamentally honest person, lying only when the situation calls for it. And he does display empathy in regards to character deaths.
Mikan Tsumiki
Mikan does seem rather off the rails in DR2′s third trial, however, you must remember that this personality of her’s is not a reflection of her true personality, but rather her Ultimate Despair personality. Normally, she a fairly normal, if traumatized and socially awkward girl.
Korekiyo Shinguji
Now to the first of two I’m likely going to have the hardest time convincing people of. Most of Kiyo’s behavior stems from the toxic relationship he had with his sister. He feels things when he talks about humanities beauty. Generally speaking, he’s relatively normal outside of the third trial.
Kokichi Ouma
Ho boy, where to start with this one. Well, for one, Kokichi does in fact feel empathy. His most notable reactions are to Kaede and Gonta’s deaths, both of which genuinely made him sad. He also has a strong moral center, with a firm distain for violence an murder. Kokichi is also perfectly of whether his actions are right or wrong. He does care for his own well being, and the well being of others. His mercy kill plan in chapter four was steamed from the idea that being dead was better than the outside world. And he really isn’t all that manipulative, mainly in regards to chapter 4. Sure, he showed Gonta the flashback light, but he let Gonta decide what to do with the information. He’s very much not an impulsive person. His chapter five plan was several trials in the making, and he’s very much a person who plays the long game.
And for all above characters, and to a degree the characters I’m about to talk about, are all in a killing game. Such an environment fosters unusual and atypical behavior in otherwise normal people. I think a lot of people forget that. This is a franchise built around talented but otherwise mostly normal teenagers for a main cast.
So, with that, who are our psychopaths?
Monaca Towa
Someone already did an analysis on her, so I won’t talk about it here.
Junko Enoshima
Do I even need to explain this one? Gets extreme pleasure from the pain of others, doesn’t care for her or others well being, doesn’t see what she’s doing as wrong and manipulates class 77 into becoming her remnants. I’m probably missing some things, but yeah.
Tsumugi Shirogane
This is one I’m a but unsure about, but lets go. Tsumugi doesn’t seem to feel any remorse for her actions during the killing game. She doesn’t care that she and the other survivors are going to die. She doesn’t see what she’s doing as wrong. She’s sorta manipulative (?).
And that’s that. Feel free to add on or voice your own thoughts on these characters.
#junko enoshima#genocider syo#nagito komaeda#mikan tsumiki#monaca towa#kokichi ouma#tsumugi shirogane#danganronpa v3#danganronpa 2#danganronpa#analysis#The term psychopath gets thrown around way too carelessly.#So I'm here to remedy that.

Can I have Nagito, Maki and Shuichi (separately) with an S/O who likes cuddling with them? (Preferably a Fem reader but GN is fine too)
“ I'm on it! ”
Fem!S/O that likes cuddling with Nagito, Maki, and Shuichi.

♪ It's probably obvious by now, but Nagito thinks he doesn't deserve it. Which is a lie.
♪ Originally, you were going to disagree with what he said with words but instead, pulled him into a hug and let him lay on your chest.
♪ Nagito melts. Not literally, don't worry-

♪ Like that one time when Nagito was going on his normal rambles and everyone was either ignoring or trying to stop him.
♪ Then you, the cuddling saviour, came along with that look on your face. “ Nagi . . ” The man immediately stopped and left the table with a small goodbye.

I don't think David is the chapter 2 killer... killing at this chapter feels wrong. even if david pushed the killer to kill i dont think he will be executed and the reason david will not be executed is, even if he could push the killer into killing but he was not the person who thought the plan, he didnt decide that Arei should die etc it was all made up the killer and if I remember correctly, monotv said "blackened is considered the one who put the most to victim dead" and David did not come up with a plan and did not decide that Arei should die, then there is nothing to execute him for.
//Except, he did.
//David has been established to be a manipulator, he's been trying to gather secrets, he was the last person seen talking to Nico and Hu before Nico tried to kill Ace, and he admitted all this was done to try and make a killing happen.
//How is any of this not plain as day? He's desperately trying to play spin doctor, and he's trying to make it seem like he didn't have anything to do with this. I don't buy it for a single second. Sure, we don't have the full details, but we can't then leap to then saying he's actually a good guy.
//I don't understand why people seem to dismiss the idea that the Blackened and the Killer can be different, even if it was added later. We've had rules added during trials before, after murders have occurred. Trigger Happy Havoc established that accomplices don't benefit from anything, and this was after the first murder had occurred and thus nobody could've planned for that ahead of time.
//To me, this sounds like setup for the engineer of a murder plan getting someone else to kill, and then realizing his efforts to make other people kill and get himself off the hook have now doomed him instead. They're not responsible, he is.
//Meanwhile, yes, I do think that killing him off here makes perfect sense. It would do wonders for, as I've said, the themes of the story and Teruko's character development. That's not fridging, that's showing the natural consequences of these actions.
//I'll have more to say about this in my theory's definitive edition, but suffice to say, I don't think Teruko needs a rival. She's already the rival in the role of the protag, so instead of someone constantly being a pain in the ass to her, she instead gets to see what she could become if she really commits to never trusting people again. And how that could lead to her dying.
//We don't need another Nagito or Kokichi. We really don't.

Hello! I was wondering how Shuuchi, Kokichi, Kaede, and Maki (seperate) would react to a reader who's ultimate talent is reality? So their like : 'I'm Y/N L/N the ultimate reality' or something like that? Turns out that the reader can control reality, uh, how do they react to that? HC please, have a good day!
Hi! Thanks for the request! I love doing 4th wall breaking things like this teehee

🟪Shuichi, Kokichi, Kaede, Maki x reader whos the ultimate reality warper
Pairings: Shuichi x reader, Kokichi x reader, Maki x reader, Kaede x reader
A/n: read tag rules before reading! Thanks!

Shuichi:
•He would be very interested, knowing that he’s the ultimate detective he would want to know a lot more
•If you haven’t seen my last post, I did one where Nagito and Hajime reacted to the reader with the same ability, so go read it! Anyways, my point is that he would act like Hajime, asking sophisticated questions
•When Kaede dies, he would basically beg you to make her come back but you weren’t really able to do that
•Now he pretty much spends his free time trailing behind you, trying to learn more about your ultimate
•Asking common questions like “Can you change ANYTHING? Like, can you change the time right now? How does your body react to this ability?”
•People literally had to push him away from you at some point
•But nah you guys are basically best friends
•Unless you don’t want to be his friend, it’s a one-sided relationship but he doesn’t have to know ;)

Kokichi:
•Like Shuichi and Nagito, he would be really interested?? Like not even as a joke, he would actually think it’s cool
•He doesn’t want to show it though so he would act like your ultimate is dumb
•“THATS your ultimate? Pfft, that’s WAY lamer than… than… Anyways, what can you even do? Erase me from existence? Hahaha! Haha… ha.”
•He wouldn’t trail around you like Shuichi, but would constantly ask you to do things for him
•“Hey, so you wanna do something for me, the ultimate supreme leader? Yeah? Okay, so I want you to…”
•Tbh he’s more chill than Shuichi, he doesn’t really show his true interest much so don’t expect your conversations to get any farther than “Can you kill Monokuma?”

Maki:
•She’s not gonna really talk to you until she needs something from you
•So basically she doesn’t care?
•But once you’re able to explain your ultimate to her she gets a bit more interested
•And she would start talking to you more who knows
•After Kaito’s death, expect to see her a lot more
•Either begging you to revive him (like Shuichi), or just silently standing by your side
•If you both develop a good relationship then your basically her second option? She’s gonna be with you more than people would see her with others
•But again, that doesn’t mean that you’re like, besties or whatever. She still has her boundaries and deems herself as a “hazard”? She’s afraid she’ll get too attached to you and you’ll die ig
•Then she can’t use you for your ultimate anymore

Kaede:
•Wow, okay
•She’s hyped to be in the same killing game as you
•No like seriously she’s super interested in your ultimate
•Sometimes she would invite you to the music room just so you can talk, mostly about your ultimate while she practices the piano
•And if you play the violin as well she would be even more interested
•Ahem, but back to the reality warping
•When Rantaro dies, she might invite you to help investigate since she thinks you would be a great help
•So does Shuichi, so now you’re basically stuck with them
•While investigating, she would ask you to just do basic things that don’t really involve your ability
•But she might sneak in a few “Do you think you can bring him back so we could ask him?” Since that’s all you can really do right now
•But then you’d have to explain that it doesn’t work like that
