Or Else - Chapter 2
- Synopsis: When Liv Olson, a cynical, ambitious photographer, is given the chance of a life time to come to Tokyo and start her career, she finds that she may have bitten off more then she can chew, especially when she discovers Tokyo's superhero in the form of a large metal man is actually famous baseball player, Ken Sato. Things get even crazier when her best friend is kidnapped by a secret organization known as Nebula and it seems the only one she can turn to is Ultraman. But his arrogance and ginormous ego means Liv is less then enthusiastic to trust the guy, and how's the best way to secure someone's trust? Simple: blackmail. Forced to work together, Liv and Ken must join forces to stop Nebula, realizing they may share a common goal. But can they push aside their differences and rivaling egos to save the people they love most and work as a team...and possibly more?

- Content warnings: None in particular. Just a bit of violence and the occasional cussing, nothing that wasn't in Ultraman: Rising. - Quick Side note: This story takes place after the events of Ultraman: Rising and acts like a sequel.
“This is totally awesome!” Dean hollered, throwing himself onto the beds thick crispy white sheets. Liv rolled her eyes good naturedly as she stood in front of her own separate bed, unpacking the clothes from her suitcase. Their room was large and grand with pearly white walls, fluffy black carpet and a large tv across from their beds. A bathroom veered off to the left of their suite and two glass doors near Liv’s bed lead out to a jutted balcony overlooking the city. They’d arrived in Tokyo during the late afternoon and Liv could just make out the sun through in between the tall glass buildings stretching across the city, still barely hanging above the horizon from their hotel balcony. Looking at the view, their room and the fact they were on one of the highest floors of the building, she was once again grateful Mrs. Arakawa had insisted on paying for their stay as she was sure even spending a day here would leave her completely broke. Only asking for in return one of the best pieces of photographic art she had ever seen. No pressure at all.
“I still can’t believe you were able to convince your work to allow you a whole month off.”
“Come on, who can say no to this face?” He shot her a bright smile, propping his head up on one hand. “And anyway, I built up a crap ton of annual leave, I never took any sick days off, I worked during thanksgiving and Christmas because my parents took a trip to Puerto Rico to visit family and refused to buy me a ticket, so I am good to go.”
“Doesn’t Dr Cole miss his favorite assistant back at the lab, what about the oh so secret and revolutionary project you’ve been bragging about helping him make or has he found someone more competent to help him?” Liv teased.
Dean scrunched up his face mockingly. “Ha, ha, no he hasn’t. Dr Cole and I have a deal. He was chill with letting me come to Tokyo, if, I find something interesting to post on my channel, Uncovering Myth and Matters.”
Liv starred at him, deadpan. “You have a weird relationship with your boss Dean.”
“It’s an awesome relationship. And Dr Cole’s got everything covered. The machines pretty much already to go, he’s just got to work out the last of the wiring and it will be ready for the gala a week after we get back to LA.”
Liv raised an eyebrow at him, grinning. “Oh, so it’s a machine.”
Dean shot up almost hurtling himself off the bed, waving his hands vehemently. “Gah, no I wasn’t supposed to say that! You can’t tell anybody, it’s top secret!” He shrieked.
“Oh no I’m gonna tell everyone. I’m gonna run to the top of the hotel and shout about it for all of Tokyo to hear.”
Dean narrowed his eyes at her, threateningly. “Do that and I will push you.”
Liv hummed, unmoved by his threat and checked her phone with a huff. “It’s five now, we should probably get going.”
Dean leaped off the bed, pumping his fists in the air. “Yes, I am so pumped, I’ve been waiting for this moment all week!”
 Liv groaned. “I can’t believe you actually bought yourself a ticket to sit around for three whole hours and watch a bunch of grown, sweaty men, stand around a field, hitting a ball around.”
“Correction. I brought us,” he flipped out two white tickets, beaming, “tickets to sit around for three whole hours and watch a bunch of grown, sweaty men, stand around a field, hitting a ball around.”
Liv snickered, grabbing a clothes hangar from the wardrobe across the room. “There are baseball games on literally every other week back in LA, why do you want to see one here so badly?”
“Because Liv, those games don’t have Ken Sato, the greatest living baseball player on their teams!”
Liv tried to recall who he was referring to. The name sounded familiar. Liv had heard Dean bring it up on one or two occasions, more than that probably. “Are you talking about that Japanese guy that you always used to rave about? I thought you said he played for the Diggers or something?” She asked, her brain faintly remembering Dean coming home excited one day, waving around a sport card with the image of a tall, lanky Asian man swinging a baseball bat.
“Dodger’s and that was over nine months ago woman, keep up! When I found out he was being transferred over to the Giants and moving back to Tokyo I was super bummed, I ranted to you about it for days!”
“Aw, is Dean in love?” Liv gushed, batting her eyes at him.
Dean rolled his eyes. “Very funny. My only love in life is science. And Quesitos.”
“What am I, chop liver?”
“No, but I wouldn’t love you if you were that either.”
She swiped a pillow from her bed and tried to throw it at his head, but he dodged it, snickering. Liv growled and snatched her last stack of clothes from inside her suitcase, storming off toward the bathroom. “I am going to get changed, I’m not going out wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. I swear that taxi driver that dropped us off cut the cost of our ride in half because he thought we were poor.”
“We are poor.”
“The rest of Tokyo doesn’t need to know that!” She slammed the bathroom door behind her.

day 81 of saving for jing yuan rerun: 326 wishes (this is the only jing yuan part of the post)
ok. so. somewhat long very rambly post beware, also spoilers probably
i have not yet completed the companion quest or any other side quests but i have done the main quest
i don't get firefly like i just do not care about her
we met her for 3 hours and i'm supposed to have developed a bond already? and i'm supposed to believe that she's dead? sure she's pretty and all but i just don't get it
i don't know maybe there's subtext i'm missing as a person who is pretty much allergic to romance i just don't understand why i'm supposed to care so much about her "death"
though i will say that sam's fight was pretty good. i liked that.
i also really want to trust aventurine and give him the benefit of the doubt but it seems like he's definitely a major driving force behind everything
why did you have a corpse in your bathtub, aventurine??
i really like aventurine and dr ratio's dynamic with dr ratio being one of the few people who can actually cut through aventurine and aventurine playing up the idiocy and mediocrity
i strongly believe as of right now that the dead people are not going to stay dead and some may even be killed again
i've never played honkai impact 3 but it appears that on the hsr subreddit there are memes of people starting to understand otto now that firefly is dead and i just still don't really get it
did we really manage to build that close of a relationship in those 3 hours of running around? personally i'd argue that i'm closer with black swan even though you were only a part of her contract
going on a different note here but i keep getting distracted whenever they bring up contracts and the fact that aventurine is a merchant
zhongli and liyue just float up from the recesses of my mind and i'm just there going "cOnTrAcT?? liyue reference???" in the middle of important dialogue
anyways image dump incoming
Tumblr media
the architects just look like wizards and they just stand there with their arms outstretched
Tumblr media
i like sam's boss fight but his animations feel a little off to me? somehow i don't know quite how to explain it and his model also feels a little weird
good music though
Tumblr media
also there was the whole thing with robin's voice being off and after welt pointed it out i tried to listen for it and i couldn't tell the difference, but that seems to just be a me thing
the other question with robin is was she sparkle from the start? when you initially entered the dream and landed in a unique pose slightly reminiscent of other media and sunday and robin come up to you and robin helps you adjust to the dream, was she already sparkle then? if so then how did sparkle do that, isn't that like a xipe and fuli exclusive thing?
i've also seen people who play with the english dub talk about how sampo's voice is different now compared to his voice during belobog, though i don't know if that's a result of real life interfering or if it was specifically directed to sound that way by devs
i also don't play in en so i wouldn't know
Tumblr media
i also feel like gallagher was not what i expected
he's the head of security and he just let firefly go because she was pretty? i don't know why gallagher would make that decision just based on appearances and i am growing increasingly concerned for the safety of penacony if the head of security can just let people go for looking like they're innocent
or am i just used to living in a part of the world where the police are almost never on your side? maybe elsewhere police do usually give people the benefit of the doubt, and i'm just used to police always being this force you have to be cautious of and the idea that in an encounter with them you need to be careful of the answers you give
anyways that was a plot point i didn't really like but who knows maybe his character will change in the future
Tumblr media
i didn't expect that duke inferno would be playable but him dying is still a little sad. but i have seen so much of his relic set recently that it feels like i already have him (and his artifacts absolutely suck i got this really good hand piece with attack %, crit rate, and crit damage as the substats so there's no way it could go wrong right? no it went all into effect hit rate.)
my personal vendetta against duke inferno's artifact set aside, i still feel like firefly shouldn't have been killed this early
i feel like i had no chance to develop any sort of relationship with her and at most we were acquaintances when she died
and also the whole deal with acheron's red text is a little unsettling but i definitely felt safer with her around as she hasn't tried to kill me or use me yet while other characters have
i went into 2.0 thinking i wouldn't like black swan but i've come around to her and honestly she is nice when she doesn't have to be
i don't mind that she only brings you to aventurine to fulfill her part of a contract, though i wish literally all of the characters would explain their actions clearly for a person like me who has no ability to read subtext
and also her exploration mechanic is really nice
i don't like to play dot teams but i'm considering it now, though it will have to wait a while
what i really want is a character that works similar to the quake mechanic in the simulate universe and the captain dunn enemy kind of
like clara but preservation
basically i want a battle cleric but like a dps shielder
Tumblr media
this guy might end up replacing gepard if i get him
Tumblr media
i wish there was a way to rewatch cutscenes because there is probably so much foreshadowing hidden in the details that i couldn't catch the first time around
Tumblr media
can galaxy rangers be emanators of the hunt? i think all the generals of the xianzhou ships are and so is the marshal, but i don't know if the galaxy rangers are also like officially endorsed by lan
they seem to be another group that also travels the path of the hunt but doesn't necessarily have lan's blessing in as much of a direct way as the xianzhou does, like how the luofu generals get lightning lord and stuff
i really hope we get to see more of the other xianzhou ships (i need more jing yuan content)
but personally i don't think acheron is an emanator of the hunt, far more likely to be destruction or finality
also i'm absolutely taking 仙舟旧纪 as canon despite the fact that it is entirely fanmade
it is my canon now
Tumblr media
who killed the...
ominous title aside, i get the feeling that robin is more likely to stay dead than firefly
her death feels like something that the plot will revolve around at some point in the future, and it feels oddly fitting
so also fun fact there is a 10 images per post limit. sad
but i think that sums up most of my thoughts on the main quest so far, though there probably is more that i haven't touched on
at any rate, i am looking forward to 2.1 and aventurine's banner. i need to collect all the preservation characters or as many as i can with the welkin and not spending any additional money
there are 22 days left until jing yuan's rerun

Tales: Married to Faith
It was 2015, Iris and Meri were just enjoying a date together while traveling to New Marias. New Marias was only one of the Nexus Points under the Foundation's control, but it was popular for being the safest and best to live in. Here Species of Interest and anomalous humanoids could wander, walk, phase through, and fly freely without discrimination or worry of being hunted. As such it was a perfect place for Foundation staff to go and live a normal life every so often. It was also the best example of what a perfect life would look like if the veil over the anomalous world was ever broken.
Iris and Meri were just walking through the streets and enjoying their life together, though that was not all. Meri was here to help establish a new church. In fact, they just came across Dr. Wells and his wife Charlie who were also here to help with the church. Both Charlie and Iris left their lovers to work on the church as both were atheists and couldn't really help anyways. Instead, they both decided to sit on a bench close to the construction of the church.
"I'm surprised they didn't fight over which faith will get more attention."
"Those two are on such odd but good terms, I heard Meri didn't even get into one argument with Mathew, not even when he became Matilda."
"No, she doesn't actually like being around Matilda, she's just too nice to say no to hanging out with a friend. She's so lovely but too nice for her own good, but it makes me glad to be her wife so that I can stand beside her when she needs it."
"Hahaha, god you two were practically meant for each other, I remember when you guys were little you always wanted to hold her hand, every chance you got." Iris blushed and Charlie laughed again at this, the two both of them remained silent as they sat there. However, Iris then remembered her childhood within the Foundation and how much she wished she had the power to escape. She only got through it with the help of Meri, Daniel, and her friends. She then looked at Charlie with concern but quickly realized she was probably thinking too much and stopped herself from talking. She took a deep breath in, then out, and thought calmly about what she wanted to say.
"Charlie?"
"Hm? Yeah Iris?"
"Why did you decide to stay with the Foundation? With your power you could have escaped any time you wanted."
"Hm... yeah I could have but if we're being honest, they would have hunted me down and used what is left of my family as hostages. Besides, where else could I go? Be worshiped by the freaks at the Serpent's hand? Hunted to the point of insanity by those GOC pricks? Enslaved by Marshal, Carter and Dark Ltd? Probably brainwashed and recruited by the Black Queen's Insurgency? Like it or not, even I can't deny the Foundation is humanity's best hope for survival. And yeah, I know I got captured the same day I destroyed those government pricks that killed my dad, but they weren't anything like them. After throwing some fireballs they surrendered and asked for compromises.
I only accepted for the sake of my family and the barn, and they were surprisingly nice. I mean there were always those assholes that thought they were better, but I showed them who was boss in the end. They agreed to letting me have some freedom in exchange for working with them in the future. I figured I was just going to burn everything down as soon as I got there but I was genuinely shocked when they sent me on my first mission. It was to take down an army of evil Sarkites and boy where they a fucking threat but nothing I couldn't handle.
They have never once sent me to take down a building or kill civilians. I swear I would kill them if that was ever the case. Don't get me wrong I still hate those faceless O5 fucks, I've only heard have of the evil shit they do but that alone makes me hate them. Still the Foundation isn't all bad once you get used to it and it can actually be pretty rewarding regarding the perks and awesome people you get to meet. That's the main thing I like about staying, if I didn't join in the first place, I wouldn't have met you or the others. It was honestly so refreshing to know there were other kids out there that had powers like me. It was also refreshing to know I was both the oldest and the strongest." Charlie then winked at Iris to which she busted out laughing.
"Hahaha! Don't let Alexi and Claudia hear you saying that."
"Ah, Alexi's a sweetheart, he doesn't mind admitting I'm stronger, and Claudia can complain all she wants, it doesn't deny I'm right... Haaa... it's also thanks to the Foundation that I met Mathew. He does preach his faith a lot but he's still so sweet and caring about all. Don't tell him I ever said this but he's an absolute angle and a true light in my life. Haha, at times he may be an idiot but he's my idiot and I'm his, forever and always."
"Wow... and you say me and Meri were made for each other." Charlie then noticed Iris staring at her with admiration and sparkling eyes, Charlie blushed and looked the other way out of embarrassment.
"Haha, so what about you? I mean I know it's not easy to say no but why do YOU stay in the Foundation? What keeps you here?"
"Besides the fact that it's impossible to leave? I... Well at first it was the desire to take what I could from the Foundation and use it against them but now... it's because I have hope."
"Hope?"
"Yes, Hope that life can always get better, hope that nothing is impossible, just difficult, and hope that those we love can give us just as much strength and we give them... Hope is what drives me every day."
"Huh... And here I thought you were one of those people who believed naivety and hope meant the same thing."
"Nah, I used to, but after a certain train ride I learned the two couldn't be any more different. Besides, I can't deny that my life is pretty good right now. So yeah, guess having hope is working."
"Hm, well I'm glad it's working out... So now that they're distracted do you wanna talk about something a little spicier?"
"Excuse me?"
"I mean it's just us here, and both our religious lovers are not here to get mad at us for having sinful talk so... What's Meri like in bed?" Iris blushed and looked at Charlie with shock, she then looked around and sighed in relief when there was no one close enough to hear them.
"Charlie! Are you serious right now?!"
"Oh, come on! This is always something married girls like us do when our significant others aren't around."
"That's not a thing! And even if it was, I have no reason to oblige!"
"Fine then if you won't start then I will." Iris groaned and covered her ears as Charlie giggled and continued.
"Ahhh... Mathew is an angel both out and in bed, he's so gentle but also full of energy. He really knows how to make a lady feel special any time of the day." Iris blushed as she didn't want to be hearing about another couple's sex life. Though she did stop tensing up when she noticed how lovingly Charlie was about it, it almost didn't make it sound as nasty as it could have been.
"And then after we're done, he hugs me so gently and lovingly and I just fall into the warmth and comfort of his embrace. The best part is he also wraps his wings around me, and they are so soft! It's like after making love to each other I get rewarded by being wrapped in a cocoon of love. Seriously I'm not religious but he's quite literally a man made in the perfect image of heaven." Now Iris was pouting in jealousy but also annoyance, she knew Charlie was baiting her into bragging about Meri. The worst part about it, is that it was definitely working.
"Well, Meri is quite innocent but up for trying new things, and she makes the cutest reactions sometimes." Charlie then leaned closer to Iris with her fists cutely under her chin to show she was extremely curious and ready to listen. Iris sighed while blushing in embarrassment, she knew Meri would hate it if she told anyone, but she couldn't help but want to talk about it, so she continued.
"Like for example she's actually really sensitive when you pet her legs. Most people call me crazy for thinking her legs are cute, but they are! And they're so soft too, it makes her turn so red and get so cutely defensive when I brush my hand across them."
"Oh? What about her horns? Does grabbing them turn her on?"
"Oh, no way! Her horns are strong but are quite sensitive and I don't mean in the aroused kind of way. It hurts her a lot when someone grabs them in any way. So, I always make sure to never touch them and she always sleeps with her chin down and head up."
"Ah sorry... so wait, does that mean she's always on top?" Iris blushed and glared at Charlie with disappointment while Charlie started giggling deviously with pride.
"Yes, actually. Once she's in the mood she starts taking control though she's very gentle yet also so powerful too. it's like this weird combo of gentle and rough that makes it all the more... exciting."
"Woah... you're such a slut." Iris turned red, glared at Charlie in anger, and punched her as hard as she could in the shoulder. Charlie grabbed her shoulder in pain but managed to laugh it off while Iris crossed her arms in anger.
"Hahaha! Okay! Okay, I'm sorry! Besides, it's not like I can judge, especially when I have lots of fun with Matilda." Iris then froze up and slowly turned her gaze back to Charlie in shock.
"... Matilda? As in Mathew's satanic form? You have sex with her too?"
"Yup, turns out I'm bisexual." Iris continued to look shocked at Charlie while she smiled and raised her chin with pride.
"Haha, it all started with a couples therapy session thing, it's kinda personal so I won't go into details, but the main point is that we wanted to get closer by exposing our flaws to one another. One of Mathew's flaws was that he felt uncomfortable yet free when he was in his satanic form. So, we worked together to help him be more comfortable in that form. After a few days one thing led to another and now every so often we sleep together. And oh boy! Is she aggressive in bed! And it's also hot, pun intended, that she can control fire like I can. Though the main take away is that now Mathew doesn't feel so trapped our out of control of his powers now, so the sex is good but it's more of an added bonus you know." Charlie blushed and smiled at that; it was nice to know that the married lives of her friends were doing good with a little couples therapy to help.
"But oh man does Matilda have such a hot body. You've and Meri have probably noticed back when you were teens but woah is she so gorgeous and sexy. Honestly it's like I won the lottery of love knowing I got one of the most handsome, gentle, funny and caring men who can also turn into the sexiest and hottest women on the earth." Iris then got annoyed again.
"Hottest women on earth? Meri is the physical incarnation of Gaia! She's literally gifted with the most beautiful face in the world made by the goddess herself."
"Sure, sure but Mathew is cute and gentle in his own way."
"No one is cuter or gentler than Meri!"
"Mathew is the combination of all the best aspects of both men and women!"
"Meri does this adorable thing where-" Before Iris could finish Meri suddenly hits Iris on the head while Dr. Wells slaps Charlie on the back of her head. The two girls then turned around and looked up in fear as their significant other. Meri was radiating a dark aura while glaring at Iris arms crossed and disappointed. Dr. Wells on the other hand was smiling despite his face clearly twitching with anger and radiating an aura of burning rage.
"My, my, Charlie, I'm glad you're having such fun talking about things I specifically and politely asked you not to talk about."
"Now, now. Don't be so harsh on them Mathew, after all we knew what we were getting into marrying such ruffians."
"Fair, fair, but I think it's time for the conversation to end." Mathew then grabbed Charlie's ear just hard enough to drag her away. Iris watched in horror at the sight, Charlie clearly wasn't in actual pain as Mathew was still being sure to be gentle, but it clearly hurt emotionally that her husband was very disappointed in her. Iris then fearfully turned to her disappointed wife who still had her arms crossed in disappointment.
"... *sigh* let's go home, Iris." Meri then walked away to which Iris silently but quickly followed her wife to the SFH-2 ″Raven" they came to New Marais in. Iris was really annoyed with herself for embarrassing her wife by bragging like that, so she just stayed behind Meri the entire time they were walking.
"... Though I have to ask."
"Hm?"
"You... Do you really like my legs? You don't think they're gross at all?" Meri turned to Iris while blushing in embarrassment. Once Iris noticed this, she blushed at how cute Meri looked; she then smiled warmly, walked up to her and gently put her hands on her cheek.
"I've already told you, haven't I? There's nothing hideous about your legs."
"I always just thought you could bear it because you loved me. You know love is blind and all."
"Meri, you really thought all this time I was secretly disgusted with your legs?" Meri then looked down in shame and nodded.
"But you're always so up front with everything that bothered you, why hide something little like that?"
"I guess, I just thought it was so little it wasn't a big deal. Compared to the stuff you have to deal with."
"... Oh Meri, nothing that bothers you is so small that I wouldn't make time to help you deal with it. I do have my own problems but I'm not dealing with any of them alone, so please don't deal with yours alone even if they seem small in the long run."
"Hm, thank you Iris... I really do love you." Iris and Meri then kissed, and it was perfectly timed too as the sun was just setting on the horizon. When they stopped Iris looked into Meri’s eyes full of love and wonder.
“... Will you marry me?”
“Huh? Iris, we’re already married.”
“I know… I think I just fell in love with you all over again.” Meri giggled in that adorable way that Iris loved. Meri then lovingly hugged Iris’s arm and the couple continued their walk to the “Raven”.
***
"Aw! I'm sorry Mathew! I just love talking about how great and amazing my husband is so I got carried away!" Mathew was wearing a look of disappointment as his wife was following him.
"... *sigh* You really did enjoy talking about Matilda as well."
"Oh, uh well..."
"And she is the hottest girl in the world if I heard you correctly."
"Well you are!" Mathew then stopped and turned around looking at Charlie in confusion.
"What?"
"Wha- what? I just mean that I like you in both forms and sure Matilda has her perks but at the end of the day it's still you. And that's what I love most about it, whether it be a different form or a different show of love, it's still you at the end of the day."
"You... still see it as me?"
"Well. yeah? I know your personalities change more dramatically when you touch certain items but when you're Matilda you have the same memories, the same basic likes, the same adorably laugh too. Frankly theirs are not that much different between you, Ah! But um obviously that doesn't reflect actual Satanism and Christianity... I think." Mathew looked at his wife confused but then chuckled which allowed her to calm down and smile again.
"Hahaha, the truth is, I'm not actually sure I like the Christian faith that much."
"Wha?"
"It's just what I feel in my blood is the right thing to do, but when I touch that pentagram talisman it's a new and exciting experience. It just so happens like with Christianity I feel freer than if I were to touch another religious item. So, I enjoy being Matilda almost as much as I like being Mathew. I just find it hard sometimes to decide which one I like more." Charlie smiled warmly and hugged her husband from behind while kissing his cheek.
"Well one thing is certain, whether you make a choice or just keep flipping between the two. I will always love you, forever and always. Because in my eyes, you will always be the one I love." Mathew blushed as he lovingly touched his wife's arms with one hand and placed one hand on her cheek with the other.
"Well, I just MIGHT feel like becoming Matilda again, for tonight! But I also might not want to be her for another month or so." Charlie felt a little hurt by that as she felt an arrow stab through the desire part of her heart. However, she quickly swallowed her pettiness up and faced her husband with a reassuring smile.
"Your anomalous body, your anomalous choice." Mathew smiled and leaned forward so he and Charlie could kiss, they both kissed for a short while. Afterwards, they both flew off into the skies together, seemingly dancing in the skies and taking their time before going back to Site-AM.

bau team one-shot
𝓲𝓶𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓮 - panic room alt ending
𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 - normal criminal minds warnings, torture, angst, loads of tears
𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 - what if agent ellianna johnson actually survived the torture from the unsub that is her uncle? what if she actually survived and was able to be one of the few people to testify against her uncle in the court hearing? what if, the bau never had to grieve the loss of their best friend, girlfriend and fellow ssa agent?
𝓪𝓾𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓻'𝓼 𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮 - whilst i do love the original story, i suddenly decided that i would write this chapter with an alternate ending that has ellianna surviving and having the opportunity to testify against her uncle because i do want y'all to know that i also imagine what the opposite of the story i've written looks like. so, pretty much, the chapter will look the same except, ellianna survives and is able to testify against her uncle in the court hearing so everything else will stay the same except ellianna's death.
part one masterlist
- - -
ellianna knew she had to do something so the unsub wouldn't get away with his crimes but, she really should have been more thought out with her decision-making skills, especially as an fbi agent with the behavioural analysis unit. yet, if she was questioned later about the decision she made, she would 100% defend herself and say that whilst she could absolutely have been more thought out, her plan was the most logical idea and the only way in which the unsub was going to meet his end as a serial killer.
now, ellianna, in her almost ten years with the fbi's bau has been through many a torture chamber but, none were as horrific as the one that she was currently hanging in by her wrists that were attached to the top of the ceiling of the old manky warehouse she was being held captive in. refusing to show the fear that she didn't have, she put her life on the line so many times at this point that it almost becomes something of an "inside joke" within the bau to act like some "lighthearted" therapy. and to make light of all the times the thirty-year-old had been kidnapped and tortured whilst on a case. however, this torture was going to be the one case that wouldn't ever be a laughable one, even in the far-off future. this one was for sure the one that ellianna was about a hundred million per cent sure going to kill her. this warehouse was the panic room that haunted the agent's dreams every single night, despite the constant denial to her fellow agents and sometimes herself about the nightmares she'd have about the said warehouse.
the unsub that ellianna and her boyfriend dr spencer reid were tasked to capture was a sixty-year-old male, just shy of six foot tall, with shaggy brown hair, and dirty brown eyes with the stench of a garbage collector. the man's name was peter johnson and heartbreakingly, ellianna's own uncle from her dad's side of the family. hence why she threw herself into the warehouse rather than jj, derek, emily or her two bosses aaron and david. but that didn't mean that ellianna threw herself into that warehouse on her own entirely, she had her boyfriend and fellow supervisory special agent dr spencer reid as her number two. she made a promise to her parents, basically her whole family, that even if it killed her, this job, she'd be the person to eventually take down her serial killer uncle so no one else had to go through the trauma that this man was bringing not just to her family but to the wider state of virginia and the country of the united states of america.
"...why is it that you always have to sacrifice yourself for your team, ellianna? is this something that gives you a buzz? an excitement?" the gruff voice of the unsub, who was ellianna's uncle, made her entire body shiver as she grunted, really showing her body strength as she held herself up
"why else do you think, peter? and no, why would this give me a buzz or excitement? i'm doing my goddamn job!" the thirty-year-old spat back, not wanting the niceties to be much longer, the man understanding that almost straight away
"oh, that's right, how could i forget! you want to prove to our family as well as to your team that you can arrest me after i've spent the last thirty years committing these crimes and only now i've been caught and you wanted to be the final victim!" the older man snarled as ellianna dryly chuckled at her insane family member
"i don't want to prove myself to them because i don't need to prove anything to anybody. i promised my family years ago when i first joined the fbi academy that i would do anything in my power to make sure they and i were all alive to see you finally be thrown into prison. i was nineteen then and i'm thirty now and only one small thing has changed about that statement!" ellianna huffed out, her attitude really testing her uncle's patience, just like it did when she was younger as the older, grotesque man crossed his arms over, daring to challenge his fed niece
"what's changed then, enlighten me, my dear niece. what has changed in the last ten years, ellianna johnson?" peter spat out as ellianna chuckled to herself, always up for the fun that was challenging her dad's older brother
"what's changed, is that i no longer care whether i come out of here alive or not. as long as the rest of my family is alive and healthy to see you get thrown into prison and have their witness statements taken and given justice by getting charged and thrown away for the rest of your life, it no longer bothers me whether or not i'm alive or dead. as long as my family gets justice for the despicable and abhorrent crimes you committed, i'll know i died a hero and a role model for the family because i helped them take down the serial killer who destroyed not just the name of our family but also all the good that's in our family because of the decision you made over thirty years ago to finally listen to those little voices in your head that you had been ignoring for so many years until they got so loud that you couldn't deal with them anymore and the only way you thought you could stop them was from killing others!" ellianna was raging mad at this point, not caring that she was covered in blood, blood that was dripping from her forehead and feet - all she cared about was her family and all the other families getting the justice they deserved years ago
this was when ellianna wished that she had eidetic memory because she couldn't even remember that spencer, her boyfriend and fellow agent had come with her into the warehouse, also getting caught by her uncle - though only getting restrained to a chair in front of her as he opened his eyes and made eye contact with the love of his life
a flash of memory then came across ellianna as she moved to make eye contact with him. she knew he'd be just as terrified as she would be. wordlessly, without peter realising since he was distracted, ellianna comforted spencer, letting him know that whilst it looked like it hurt from the way she was hanging by her hands, she was completely fine and that she was able to handle it. the moment that she got the confirmation head nod from spencer, she focused back to peter, who had seemed to remember also, that he had kept spencer restrained to a chair sitting right in front of ellianna, whilst he had stood slightly off to the side.
"hmm, seems like you hadn't forgotten about spencer like i would have thought you did, i mean, i forgot about him for a second because of how quiet he is..." peter trailed off in a taunting voice as ellianna rolled her eyes as the sounds of the warehouse lights sounded, the burst of light making both spencer and ellianna turn away due to how bright it was and how their eyes still needed adjustment
"...of course, i didn't, you douchebag! now, what are you going to do to him, peter?" ellianna started to slightly panic, on the inside that is, she was staying calm on the outside as she hoped that whilst the team were all wired and connected, they were still close by and had the opportunity and a chance at rescuing spencer
"absolutely nothing dear niece of mine. i mean, i haven't forgotten and i don't think spencer here has forgotten the entire screech of a speech you made to me and everyone that cares to watch this live feed at the start of this entire ordeal. you screamed for spencer not to be hurt and i haven't. i haven't laid a single finger on dr reid and i won't because i'll be way too busy laying every single finger on you to even give that squib a second look..." peter trailed off as spencer let out a wrangled cry, making peter and ellianna snap their heads, peter moving closer to his niece to move a strand of her hair behind her ear
"...shh, spence, please, it's okay! i'm okay, i promise, he isn't hurting me!" ellianna tried her absolute hardest to convince her boyfriend that the torture by her uncle wasn't painful at all - and it was true, ellianna hadn't screamed one single time
"she's right, boy genius, she hasn't screamed, not once. not since she begged on her knees for me to hurt her, instead of you..." peter snickered as all spencer's mind could go back to was that moment, he had never seen his girlfriend beg like that in their entire time at the bau together, and neither did the rest of their team who was watching via the live feed that penelope had hacked into after being given the link by peter
"--please, peter, i beg of you. take me instead, leave spencer alone. hurt me, touch me, rape me! whatever it is you want, just do it to me. just leave spencer and the rest of my team alone, they've done nothing wrong! and keep your bloody hands off of him!" she begged, she had never sounded so sure but so pained at the same time as she saw her uncle drift closer to her boyfriend as though he was taunting his niece
in her almost decade of serving as a federal agent with the fbi's behavioural analysis unit, ssa ellianna johnson hadn't ever begged an unsub for something more than for her boyfriend, ssa dr spencer reid to be spared by them, the unsub they were trying to take down, which had turned out to be ellianna's own uncle.
the rest of spencer and ellianna's team; derek morgan, emily prentiss, jennifer (jj) jareau, penelope garcia, david rossi and aaron hotchner watched the security camera live footage with anxiety and uncertainty for their two youngest members. the team was usually so fearless so whenever something bad happened to spencer and or ellianna, the team was always at their most vulnerable. the girls had tears blurring their vision and the guys tried to hold back their own tears and their anger as the team sat in silence as they watched the live feed that had been sent to penelope for this very reason and it boiled their blood.
peter was still not budging on his niece's pleas to leave spencer alone. neither spencer nor ellianna had been restrained as yet as they had just arrived but peter had already thrown things at them and given both of them minor concussions.
if it took ellianna to get on her knees begging her uncle for him to stay away from spencer, she would do anything to make sure he would be safe and, that's what she did. ellianna got down on her knees, her hands in the air and her gun out of its holster and discarded on the floor, begging for her uncle to leave her boyfriend alone and to take her as his hostage and torture her so that her boyfriend would be safe and sound.
"for fuck sake, peter, please! stay the fuck away from spencer, don't you dare think about even laying one of your dirty fingers on him. put all those grubby, bloody, serial killer fingers on me and torture me with every ounce of your body because you'll have so much more fun hurting me than you would if you were hurting spencer. please, let me take spencer's place he has so much more life left to live for and new things to research and find out about life. he...he has to take care of his mom, he has to find a cure for her! please, leave him alone!" ellianna begged again, on her knees as peter finally changed his mind, ellianna eased as spencer was then placed in the chair, right in front of the chains that were suspended in the air with all different kinds of torture devices next to it
spencer had never been known fear in his life until this moment right here. it wasn't him being tied up to the chair that terrified him, the thing that scared him was having to watch the love of his life, the girl he wanted to marry, watch getting tortured and killed right in front of him with a front-row seat, their team also helplessly watching, by someone who once loved her, he'd do anything to protect her as her uncle.
"ellianna, what are you doing?" spencer whimpered, not caring that he sounded like a weak, scared little boy in front of the unsub because, at this moment, that's how he felt as ellianna smiled softly
"i'm saving your life, spence. i can't let you die, you mean way too much to me. you've been through so much, it's time i deserved some pain once in a while, i'm lessening the load," ellianna smiled, keeping up her strength as peter drew ever so closer to his niece so he could start assembling the torture, grabbing her and chucking her against a wall, causing spencer and the team watching to flinch at the noise ellianna's body made as it connected with the wall as more blood started to pool at the back of her head, matching the blood trickling down her forehead, due to the force the push had created
the metal chains loudly clasped her hands above her head as she hung with her feet no longer touching the ground beneath her as she remained tough and unafraid. a smile suddenly formed on the young agent's face as she suddenly giggled at how unflattering this pose must have looked to spencer and the team at the angle they were watching it at. saying it in a way to make the horrific situation more comedic, however, it of course didn't land as well as she wanted it to land.
"this pose must look very unflattering to you guys right now..." ellianna giggled suddenly as she then looked down, the mortified look of her boyfriend, spencer, as well as her team who she couldn't see, didn't find it as comedic as she thought they would have
halting her laughter, ellianna quietly gulped, not knowing what else she could say to fill the suddenly eerie silence that fell throughout the abandoned warehouse - peter ignoring the exchange
it seemed as if ellianna's begs to save spencer in replacement for her was working. she smiled to herself that her boyfriend was safe, though he was having to watch his girlfriend be tortured right in front of him whilst restrained, he was safe.
no more than a second longer did peter wait before his homemade torture equipment was powered up before it started to tear into and shock ellianna's body. the equipment varied from kitchen appliances like knives, screwdrivers, ice picks, and a baseball bat to an electric wire that would end up being bound around ellianna's legs as well as other things that burnt into the agent's skin. ellianna's entire body was being torn into and was on fire however that gorgeous, loving, caring, bright smile remained etched on her face, not once letting it falter or letting herself scream out in pain for her uncle to switch the torture equipment off.
ellianna knew that it was bothering her uncle immensely that she wasn't reacting to the torture. she knew that he always thrived off of the pain of his victims yet, she'd always been known to have the physical and mental strength throughout her entire life to be able to withstand whatever torture that was subjected to her. so, ellianna could tell that if her uncle was a firecracker about to explode, he would have set the entire warehouse ablaze because he wasn't getting the reaction and what he wanted from his victim. but, the catch was, due to how smart peter was, it didn't take him too long to figure out what could possibly make his niece falter and that was seeing her boyfriend falter and freak out. for ellianna, the only known thing to cause her pain in the world was seeing her boyfriend spencer in pain. whether it was seeing him cry, seeing him sick or just seeing him in some sort of pain made ellianna break. it was definitely her biggest weakness but it hadn't ever been a worry to think about because, until today, none of their unsubs had a personal connection to any of the team where they would know any of the agents' weaknesses in the way that peter knew what his niece's weakness was. so, peter then decided to use it against her by turning up the level of pain on all of the equipment which effectively made spencer start to thrash around in his seat, crying out for peter to stop.
the rest of her team were barely able to continue watching as peter turned up his dial on the equipment's power grid when they heard spencer's screeches for peter to stop. and the worst part of all was that penelope and the rest of the team were nowhere near close enough to finding where on god's green earth this abandoned warehouse was in downtown virginia.
"ellianna! peter, stop it! please, leave her alone! stop it now! you've done enough, you've hurt her enough! she's bleeding, peter! please, peter....put...put her down! you're hurting her!" spencer sobbed, the hot tears streaming down his face as he thrashed around in the restrains that were stopping him from saving her himself
"spence, please, it's okay! it doesn't hurt, i promise, i can't even feel a single thing!" ellianna attempted to comfort her devastated boyfriend as peter groaned, both his plans of inflicting the most pain on his niece and making her scream and cry weren't working so, that was when he decided he needed to go a step further and bring out the big guns
"is it bad that she can't feel it, hotch?" jj questioned, her tears that had pooled in the corner of her eyes now dousing her cheeks, her head turned from the screen to her unit chief, hotch not knowing how to respond
"i...i don't know jj but just trust ellianna. trust that she knows what she's doing," hotch gulped nervously, just hoping that his not-so full proof statement was correct and that one of his very much beloved agents was going to be safe - especially after he promised that he would keep her safe
whilst hotch was correct, that ellianna knew what she was doing, it still didn't mean that the hope for ellianna to come out of this torture alive was a strong hope. it looked as if, in the small, slither of ellianna making it out alive, she'd be fighting for life in a hospital bed for at least a couple of weeks. then suddenly, out of nowhere, everything happened so quickly that it was as if the team and spencer had just blinked before they heard a gunshot ring through the warehouse. spencer's heartwrenching and guttural screams followed shortly after as he helplessly tried to free himself from his restraints to shoot peter.
from the time it had taken the rest of the team to find the banged-up industrial warehouse that spencer and ellianna had found peter johnson in, it felt like time had slowed down. because it felt as though spencer just blinked before one other shot rang out. morgan and prentiss had rushed in within seconds. morgan had delivered the shot that hit peter in the leg, not killing him only immobilising the elderly man so the arrest would be easier. prentiss then quickly rushed over to spencer to untie him from the seat, however, that only accomplished spencer collapsing to his knees, more gutwrenching sobs and screams leaving his mouth that had come from his gut. morgan moved to see if he could discover a pulse from ellianna. in his complete and desolate world, spencer thought the worst and that peter's quick and sneaky gunshot trick had killed ellianna. as prentiss tried her absolute hardest to console spencer, it seemed as if the only thing that could console him was the possibility of a miracle, for ellianna to have survived. and, bless every deity, god, goddess, angel, saint, sister, brother and martyr, for morgan had found ellianna's pulse. whilst it was a weak pulse, it was still a pulse meaning that ellianna still had a chance of survival and that peter had not won.
pulling out of the hug, it seemed as if prentiss had figured out from the way morgan had a relieved smile on his face whilst he talked to the paramedics who had just arrived at the warehouse, that ellianna had a pulse and still had a chance. immediately, prentiss knew she had to tell spencer, knowing that even the weakest pulse would be the best news for spencer to hear.
"spence, i need you to look at me. derek is with ellianna right now with the medics and, a pulse was found. ellianna is still alive, she still has a chance of recovering, okay?" prentiss whispers to her distraught friend who perks up slightly
"wait, what? she...she's alive?" spencer muttered, his voice scared and hoarse from his sobs and screams as emily, with the smallest smile on her lips, nods her head and pulls spencer back in for a hug
"yes, spence, but she will have to be transported to a nearby hospital to get treated because what peter did to her isn't just something that is a quick healer," emily whispers as spencer nodded his head, sniffling softly as he tried to wipe the tears off of his cheeks
the rest of the bau had been called into the scene now that peter had been seized and taken into police custody to then be later interviewed. rossi and hotch rushed over to spencer, to take him to safety, which was the awaiting ambulance that was going to patch up the lesions and lacerations on his wrists, and ankles from being tied up to the chair and the cut on his forehead from the concussion he had received.
emily, jj and derek had the worst task of all, having to turn on every single piece of equipment that peter had used to torture his niece and all of his other victims over the last thirty years and had to wait a couple of minutes so they wouldn't blow up themselves and the entire rusting building. then, after everything had cooled down, derek, the strongest out of the three agents, were able to release their best friend and fellow agent from the ceiling restraints. derek carried her to the ambulance to then be transported to the hospital to see if they could keep her alive and heal her.
hotch and rossi, alongside spencer, were now walking over to the ambulance after they had successfully coerced the boy wonder to have him get properly checked out and make sure his injuries to his wrists, ankles and forehead weren't at the risk of infection. usually, in a situation like this, spencer would be fighting tooth and nail to be by his girlfriend's side, however, this time, he was way too weak to even scream anymore. let alone even try to fight to be placed in the same ambulance, which had already taken off to the nearest hospital anyway, hotch and rossi carefully walked with spencer out of the warehouse and to the ambulance as they saw the one that carried ellianna already speeding down the street with the lights flashing and sirens blaring loudly.
"...spencer, are you okay?" rossi questions his fellow agent, the younger paying the elder no attention, for all he could think about was ellianna and whether or not she would stay alive
"hmm?" the younger agent hums as he finally faces rossi's worried look before responding again
"i...i'm, i just, i hope ellianna is okay," spencer sighed tearfully as he meddled with his fingers to keep himself occupied, rossi sighing softly as he sat down next to his fellow agent
"we all wish the same thing, reid. but, she's a strong girl, she'll be able to recover and she'll be back on the field with us in no time," rossi smiled softly, placing his hand on the upset boy's shoulder to provide some form of comfort that wasn't too invasive
"i just... why...why did she have to throw herself in the middle of the danger over me? i...i could have handled it too..." spencer trailed off, despite the fact that he knew that last little part was a lie considering the way he reacted to seeing it happening to ellianna - he knew there was no way he could have handled it any better if it was him hanging by his hands and, rossi knew that as well
"...reid, she put herself in danger because of how much she loves you. i know that you two have said those words to each other and this is why she knew she had to throw herself in danger. because she loves you and she also didn't want anyone, even if the person was related to her, to cause you any harm. she'd rather get hurt by her own family, herself than let them hurt you. she'd always put herself above you because she loves you and would do anything to protect you from the horrors that those in her family can show," rossi explains to the brown-haired boy who sniffled as tears still tracked his red, wet and puffy cheeks and he nodded his head, finally understand due to rossi's explanation
"oh..." spencer sniffled before looking down at his pair of converse that was now very dirty and needed cleaning
"we're about to take the suvs to the hospital, do you wanna come with us, spencer?" rossi then asks, spencer's head shoots right up, a hint of a smile on his lips as he nods his head
rossi then smiles at the way spencer stands up to walk back to their fbi issued sport issued vehicles so they could drive to the hospital. whilst he didn't have his pep in his step like normal, he was still able to carry himself without his feet coming from underneath him like they were moments earlier. which, was a very good sign not just for the medics but also for the rest of the team to see that spencer no longer needed someone to help him walk.
*
from the outside, spencer looked as calm as you could look in a hospital waiting room. however, you didn't have to be a profiler to see that his body language was completely different to the calm look on his face. his right leg was bouncing, he was twiddling his fingers and his eyes couldn't stay in the same spot for more than a couple of seconds. he would also slightly flinch whenever a doctor walked past the group and he stayed silent and didn't want to talk to anybody. he was absolutely losing his mind on the inside which was identifiable by small idiosyncrasies in spencer's body language that he couldn't ever hide from anyone on the outside.
"family of supervisory special agent ellianna johnson?" a nurse calls out, spencer immediately standing up alongside the rest of the team, all of them just hoping that she was okay
"i...i'm her boyfriend, umm, her parents are out of state but her siblings are on a plane as we speak right now to virginia. so...is...is she okay?" spencer stammered out, the nurse smiling softly, for it wasn't her first rodeo dealing with federal agents and their families
"due to all of her injuries, theoretically, she shouldn't be alive right now..." the experienced nurse trailed off which made the group absolutely terrified, tears building in spencer's eyes yet again after he had only just managed to cease the crying
"...however, defying all of my team's odds, agent johnson is completely fine. she'll need a few more blood transfusions due to how much blood she lost from the two head injuries and the gunshot wound but other than that, all her injuries have been tended to and stitched up. she is, however, asleep and a bit high on some pain medication but you guys are more than welcome to visit her. she has full recollection of who she is, her job, what happened to her, where she is and you guys, not that amnesia was anything that worried us but, just in case it worried you guys due to her head injuries, i'd thought it'd be something worth mentioning," the nurse explained, a small smile covering her face as everyone exhaled as tears streamed down spencer's cheeks out of pure relief that his girlfriend was okay and that she had, in fact, survived
the nurse had started walking back to ellianna's room when hotch ushered for spencer to follow her, "go, reid, we'll visit ellianna later!" nodding his head, spencer sniffled before following the nurse as she led the two of them to ellianna's hospital room
it was as if he could feel his heart drop to the floor. he hadn't ever seen his girlfriend look so peaceful yet in so much pain at the same time. no matter how many times she had told spencer that she wasn't in pain, they both knew it was due to the adrenaline pumping through her veins and that because, during that time, it truly didn't hurt her because it wasn't the first time she had been tortured so she knew how to triage the pain and focus on pure survival.
sniffling as quietly as he could, he hesitantly walked over to the hospital bed, "hello sweetheart," spencer couldn't help but feel bad as though his heart had been stomped on
without thinking, spencer grabbed ellianna's hand that laid backside down, palm up, against her hospital bed and just started muttering apology after apology repeatedly until he had found himself falling exhausted and then shortly thereafter, asleep.
*
mumbling and slightly restless, ellianna found her eyes fluttering open and looking around as she tried to recognise the surroundings of the hospital room and the person who was loosely holding her hand. she couldn't hide the smile that formed on her face at seeing her boyfriend sleeping and looking so flustered and adorable. spencer's hair was messy, his hand was holding ellianna's and his head and some of his body was resting on the empty part of the slightly large bed that ellianna was laying in. with a slight squeeze of his hand from ellianna, spencer's head shot right up. his eyes widening and his pupils dilating, loose tears still trickling down his cheeks.
"el...ellianna? sweetheart, you're...you're awake!" spencer whispered frantically as she smiled small and pouted as she watched the new and old tears that littered her boyfriend's face
she smiled with a small groan, prompting spencer to get up to get the nurse. erratically wiping his face of the tears he'd seemed to be crying all night, he went to get the nurse.
"i'm just going to grab the nurse and tell them you're awake. i love you ell," spencer whispered as ellianna nodded her head, a small smile on her lips as she watched spencer leave the room with the slightest pep in his step
no less than a minute later, the nurse came in and after the rest of the blood transfusions, and some visits from the team, ellianna was cleared to be discharged from the hospital. with the exception of returning in a week's time to remove ellianna's stitches, it seemed like ellianna made herself and the rest of her team promise to each other to steer clear of hospitals now - at least for a little while.
*
a month had passed since the peter johnson cause wrapped up and the man was now serving twenty-five life sentences alongside the possibility of the death penalty due to the consideration of him being extradited back to his original hometown outside of virginia - where the death penalty was legalised.
it haunted the minds of the whole bau to think that, they nearly lost ellianna during that case because of how unstable and insane her serial killer uncle actually was. they weren't prepared for how erratic and unstable that man was since he was so different to the rest of ellianna's family, whom they all had the pleasure of meeting throughout ellianna's service with the team. yet, no one was more haunted and emotionally scarred over that case than spencer. his mind always trickled back to the court date when his girlfriend had to go up to the stand and explain to everyone all the things or sick, twisted, serial killer uncle had done to her in the hopes that he would kill her and come out with his final victim after thirty years at the top. he wept that day whilst he watched and listened as his girlfriend took the stand and he'll cry any other time he thinks about it because of how much it traumatises him in ways that he's never had trauma before.
"...what did your uncle do to you, agent johnson?" the high judge questioned, a worried look planted on the elder lady's face as the young agent gulped, still not mentally able to comprehend that she was having to say it out loud
"uncle peter had me suspended in the air, by my wrists that were tied together by rope, my legs weren't at all tied up but i guess something did happen to my legs as they were very red...and itchy, like they had been burnt by something. umm, i was hit by a baseball bat, stabbed by an ice pick and a couple of knives. i think there was an electric wire that electrocuted me which i think my feet were at one point bound by, which is why i think my legs were red and itchy like they had been burnt...and then, he shot me in the stomach, not so much at point blank range but not that far from it. which was something when my team and i were discussing in our victimology and his mo, we never came to the realisation that after he had tortured his victims that he would then shoot them and that was how they died. the other police departments that were put on this case before my fbi team hadn't seemed to make the connection about why the victims would have gunshot wounds on their stomachs either. that was until i was put in that situation and my partner, dr spencer reid had to see it happen right in front of him that we finally realised that it was the gunshot wound to the stomach from him that was the main cause of death for the victims. i...i think..." ellianna suddenly trailed off, she had been doing brilliantly until something, or someone, caught her attention and was all of a sudden too scared to continue as she suddenly felt the burning eyes of her uncle watching her from his box
"...you can continue agent, mr johnson cannot do anything to harm you. he is locked in his box, all he can do is stare at you and try to scare you. he is only trying to elicit a reaction, it's a scare tactic that all criminals do which you would be very familiar with. you can continue, darling," the judge spoke calmly, letting ellianna know she could continue and was safe to continue, reminding her that she was safe
"uh, okay, he...um, whilst uncle peter used a variety of different equipment in this specific case when i was with dr spencer reid, it...it wasn't the first time per se, that he had sent me to the hospital..." ellianna stopped, realising that she hadn't even told the full story to the rest of her team about every other time during her childhood that her uncle had sent his niece to the hospital
the judge swallowed, her eyes wide before speaking, "what else has your uncle done to you, sweetheart?" completely disregarding ellianna's professional title and any sort of court ruling, the judge was worried for the young agent
"when...when i was a teenager, uncle peter would touch me in...in places that made me uncomfortable and he would always talk to me like i was in a sexual relationship with him to fulfil his fantasy that he had..." ellianna gulped as spencer couldn't help but shake his head as his tears slipped down his cheeks
the girl continued to explain before the judge asked another question, "did he ever rape you, agent johnson?" the judge asked the one question no one wanted the answer to but was needed as ellianna sniffled in fear, she had never told a single soul that story and now, she was
"mhm..." ellianna mumbled, too embarrassed to say it properly as she wrapped her arms around herself, her defence attorney right next to her and her team in the stands behind her
"...was it multiple times or was it just once?" the judge asked again so she could form more of a picture as ellianna sniffled again
"uncle...uncle peter would rape me up to three...three times a week until one day he...he just...until one day he just stopped..." ellianna struggled but once she took in a deep breath, she choked it out but remained relatively stoic
"did you ever find out why he stopped or were you just grateful that he was no longer hurting you?" it seemed as if everyone, including the judge, were on the verge of tears as ellianna finally had the courage to make eye contact with her team - all of them looking back with glassy eyes
"i...i didn't think to ask because i was just so...relieved that i could stop scrubbing my skin so harshly to the point of bleeding and peeling to feel clean again that i just didn't think to ask why he stopped and i just didn't tell anyone because...because i knew if i told anyone, they'd worry or start asking questions because, i knew if they did, straight away, they'd assume it was uncle peter..." ellianna's voice wobbled a little bit but she refused to let herself cry as the judge nodded her head
"...ellianna, why do you still openly refer to mr johnson as uncle peter, even after the fact he abused you throughout your childhood whilst also being a serial killer, you almost an inch from becoming his final victim whilst he held your boyfriend dr spencer reid captive as well?" the judge asked softly and ellianna smiled sadly as she huffed, finally making eye contact with her uncle, her eyes filling with tears
"because...because he...he is still my uncle and, there is still that same little ellianna that loves her uncle peter and wishes he could come home and just play with her and not make her do things she didn't know how to say no to..."
despite the pain and heartbreak that peter johnson had caused to so many people, including his own family, ellianna couldn't help but still find that little girl in her who loved her uncle. whilst he did abuse her and then went on to kill and torture so many others over a span of thirty years, he was still a man who once upon a time, truly cared for his family and would do anything in his power to protect them. but, that was also his downfall as that was how he turned into the monster that was now the entire reason he was in jail for the rest of his life or until his death row day and that was something that comforted ellianna, spencer, the johnson family and every other family who had been affected by peter's crimes.
- - -
now that i rewrote the original version of this, i, of course, had to rewrite the alternate ending otherwise it wouldn't have made any sense because i also changed the name of the main character, her name was originally florianna but, i decided to change it ellianna in both versions (obviously) which is something i didn't mention in the author's note of the original one-shot so, apologises i forgot about it.
ok ily bye xx

Ok, here is some Big Boss is the MRE guy. Not much at the moment, more just an exploration of the AU generally speaking. But it’s fun to explore so have it anyway.
———
“Kept you waiting, huh?”
He smiled into the camera, adjusted the angle with one hand as he scratched idly at the back of his neck with the other.
“Sorry, I had some technical issues getting things set up. But it all looks green now.”
Messages started coming in, regular watchers and subscribers greeting each other with snake and frog emojis, some sending little saluting faces and “hi Boss”es. He did a mock salute and settled back in the chair a little.
John still felt a bit nervous starting a stream. It was the same if he started filming a video, or talked to a stranger, even when answering the phone. But there was still the little thrill at being adored and looked up to. He enjoyed it despite the nerves.
“So today will mostly be a questions and answer thing, I know there are some new people joining us so be polite. Later we’ll probably take a look at a mid nineties British ration pack but that’s only if we have time.”
The moderators started putting rules into the chat box and John cracked his knuckles. “Okay. Who’s first.”
The questions started coming in.
Who’s your favourite Spice Girl?
Where did you grow up?
How did you lose your eye?
What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten?
Do you ever get sick from eating so many weird things?
He couldn’t help chuckling at the range. There were always people asking silly questions, sometimes in jest but sometimes completely seriously, and he liked that; it was good, fun even, to be asked things that weren’t serious all the time. He had enough of that from his psychiatrist.
“I don’t know about the Spice Girls but I’ll say… Mel C. She seems pretty fun. I grew up all over, didn’t have a stable home, kind of an unusual family situation. But that’s a whole other story for another time.” He swallowed, rubbed at the eyepatch, and felt himself tense up. “The, uh, the eye was- not a good day if I’m honest. Let’s just say I was shot during a mission. Not sure I can legally go into the details anyway, confidentiality and all that.”
There were some apology messages and a few goading him on, the latter told in no uncertain terms to shut up by the mods if they wanted to stay. John rallied himself and got back to his answers.
“Food is a hard one to answer. Instant noodles are great, and some of the rations I had back when I was in active service were pretty tasty. But when there was nothing in my pack I think the King Cobra was pretty far up there. That or Russian glow caps… now they really recharge your batteries.”
A slew of snake emojis flew in, interspersed with questions and a few anecdotes from people who had similar experiences.
The next hour went by quickly. John answered more questions before taking out the British ration pack he’d bought a few weeks before. The calm control of talking about something he knew well took over. He described the packaging, the history behind its use, how to prepare it and what it tasted like; he told his viewers how he had known a British Major years ago, a man who was stereotypically obsessed with James Bond. It went well, overall. He noted a few usernames down after, people who were definitely veterans like himself, and made sure to keep an eye out for them if they came back.
He couldn’t quite remember how he’d first gotten into this life, couldn’t pinpoint the moment he went from ex-army who bought stuff online to showing other people the stuff to filming himself showing that stuff. It had just… happened. Eva had encouraged him both her and Adam saying the internet would “gobble him up”. Dr. Clark had been supportive too, offering her expertise to help him find rare specimens and letting him know if something was safe or not. And apart from the time he’d given himself food poisoning by ignoring her advice it had gone well.
She’d probably call him later and mock him about the mushrooms again. That was alright, they’d not had a proper conversation for a while.
Next door he heard laughter, the shutting of a door. A new neighbour again. There had been a few over the past ten years. He’d told Adam the place was empty but the man was happy drifting between the US and Russia when the mood struck him. There were plenty of places for him to stay, and John’s spare room was always free.
Outside he heard muffled voices, a man’s thanking someone and a “hear, take my card” before the door shut again.
His therapist had told him meeting new people was good for him, that it would help him relearn his social skills in public settings. He tried, introducing himself to people who got into conversation with him, and told himself he would go over in the next few days to say hello. Eventually, anyway, even if it took a few weeks to get round to.
The alarm on his watch beeped at him. He stood, walked to the small bathroom he kept meticulously clean, and took his pain medication. He stripped off his shirt and did his evening workout routine, his stretches, the massage he had been told to do on his arms and legs. He made dinner and watched an old movie. He went to bed, listening to the sound of someone next door getting used to a new environment.
Another day done.

Grabbers
I had a website a while back on which I would post movie reviews. I liked how the reviews came out, so I’m gonna repost them here.
When I review films, I tend to pick ones that are fairly obscure, so as to avoid joining in the din of internet yakking about popular, well-known movies. I hope that other, like-minded people (ie, those who love creature features and other “hidden gems”) will appreciate the recommendations, and maybe find a new movie to enjoy.
And I like to let my snark out every now and then. Keeps it well-honed.
Today’s review is for Grabbers, a little UK/Irish indie film from 2012. (That’s GrabBER, not to be confused with GrabOID from Tremors. Which is another great series of movies that I’ll try to get around to reviewing.)
Want the plot in a nutshell? Multi-tentacled, blood-starved alien creatures land near Erin Island and proceed to nosh on anything they come across—man and beast. But seems that alcohol is their Kryptonite, meaning the only way to keep them from draining you dry is to be drunk. Very, very drunk.
That’s pretty much it.
So let’s talk about our main players in this alien-vampire-octopus romp.
Tumblr media
Starting from the far left, there’s Paddy, the town drunk who finds the first Grabber in a lobster trap and brings it into his bathtub with the intent to sell it on eBay. (That plan hits a snag when the thing escapes from the trap and attaches itself to Paddy’s face.)
Next is Una, the take-no-crap wife of Brian Maher, who’s standing next to her. They own the pub where everyone will take refuge later in the film.
The dude front and center is Ciarán O’Shea, the resident cop who, incidentally, is an alcoholic (stemming from a bad breakup). To his right is Lisa, the straight-laced, completely by-the-book cop who arrives at the beginning of the film, a temporary replacement for Ciaran’s boss, who’s going on vacation for 2 weeks. Next is Dr. Adam Smith, a scientist studying marine life, and overall know-it-all.
Last is Father Potts, and I’m honestly not quite sure why he’s on this poster, as he’s not exactly a big player in the film.
Anyway, with the exception of Father Potts, these people are pretty much the only ones you need to keep track of.
So monsters splash land on our little planet, and make a beeline to Erin Island to eat and breed. Their genetic makeup means they only need 2 things to survive—water (to keep their bodies moist) and blood. Alcohol burns their sensitive creepy-crawly skin, and doesn’t sit well in their tummies.
Now, you would think, given the premise, that this would be a pretty one-joke movie. “Stay drunk to survive” just screams “Movie full of drunk people doing slapstick or basically acting stupid” gags. Well, you really won’t find that here, surprisingly. And, spoiler alert, just about everyone lives, which is a change of pace from other movies of this type. Usually anyone who drinks is done in pretty quickly and messily by the hungry creature. Not so in this little flick.
Once our intrepid band of heroes put the pieces together and realize that the Grabbers can’t hold their liquor, they spring to action. Seems a pretty nasty storm is heading in, meaning the Grabbers—or, more specifically, the GIANT male who’s always looking for a free meal and some action—will be heading to town to satisfy these urges. The cops lure the locals to the pub and encourage all to drink as much as they possibly can. Hey, even Father Potts can’t turn away free booze!
Soon the entire town is toe-up, but, being Irish, they’re a pretty damn happy bunch. Singing songs, laughing, and just basically reveling in their oblivious-ness to the giant tentacled monstrosity that’s making its way toward them.
The performances in this are very good, with likable characters you care about. There isn’t much backstory to any of them, which usually makes for very 2-dimensional, flat, boring characters, but it works in this. The movie gives you enough to have a basic idea of who these people are, without bogging you down with unnecessary details and pointless angst.
The effects are excellent, and the creature design is believable. They look and behave in a very organic manner, which adds to their creep-factor. Many creature features want to create the biggest, most deadly-looking thing—with teeth that don’t fit in its mouth, and claws that are so long they’re hardly practical. This is simply a writhing mass of tentacles that all lead to a big, round mouth full of sharp teeth. A long, proboscis-like tongue shoots out to stab and drain the blood from the victim, making this part leech, part sea urchin, part octopus. All ugly.
Bottom line: this is a really fun movie, with enjoyable characters, dialog, and great special effects. I gladly recommend it.

(writes something fucked up)
(writes something fucked up)
(writes something fucked up)
(realize you've been repeatedly writing about the same poor character going through hell)
(writes something sweet)
(writes something fucked up)
(writes something fucked up)
#rambling writes#This is about one specific OC#His name is Reaper and he is so traumatized and so sweet.#He was a 'criminal for hire' (His corrupt military-tech scientist boss had groomed him since childhood to kill and generally do crime stuff#meaning the boss would keep his hands clean and all Reaper knew was how to hurt people because he kept getting rented out to do that)#and pretty much the only people who stayed in his life was his boss (Dr. Altrine/Adam) and this hero merc (Ace) who he was in love with.#At some point Dr. Altrine hurt Reaper so badly and with something so recognizable as 'yeah the Doc did that' that Ace decided#'I am going to break that poor bastard out of there'#and now that he has and they're boyfriends Ace keeps hearing all about Reaper's trauma#and Reaper has no idea just how messed up it is so it's just a constant loop of 'oh by the sun and stars' '?? is that not normal??'#He is so fucked up and the crew Ace is part of is so worried for him.#For reference Ace was also horribly tortured in the past but also had a fairly okay-ish upbringing so he's just in a state of#'I relate bUT BY THE SOUTHERN STARS-'#Like Reaper didn't even know what sex what until Ace (who mind you was a total flirt before getting in a committed relationship) told him.#Now that he's finally out he's been taking every opportunity to be nice because he just hated doing crime and now he's that he can be nice#HE IS BEING SO NICE.#'Did you need help with that?' 'I can get that for you!' 'Here you can have this!'#He's got such a gruff voice and a generally quite intimidating albeit undescribed look about him#but he's also got the mentality of a small child who's just learning about all kinds of things.#He and Ace are completely in love and he's the house-husband while Ace goes out on missions.#It is just a constant switch between sci-fi whump/#cottagecore-but-in-an-abandoned-military-base-but-still-has-all-the-other-parts-of-cottagecore.#This poor man's life was actual hell and now he gets cuddles almost every night and he's so happy with it.#ALSO most people are genetically modified so they don't have to do normal human things whereas Reaper is organic and has to sleep and eat.#This makes him better at not being tracked (The system doesn't recognize unchanged DNA) but also just made living harder.

Tumblr media
As you walked around your apartment, you made sure everything was packed into your bags. Even if you did earn enough money, you never needed anything bigger than a two bedroom apartment. Your job needed you to travel and live in other locations anyway.
“Hmm...” You headed into your office and took your bag out, making sure you had all your equipment that you needed inside.
KNOCK KNOCK
“Coming.” You turned off the lights and headed out, opening the front door. You were greeted by a male in a suit. He looked up from his phone, blinking at you while you just headed back into the house.
“Dr (y/l/n)?” You heard him.
“You’re early. Your boss told me you would be arriving at 2:30. It’s not even 2 yet.” You replied, continuing to gather the remainder of your things.
“My boss?”
“Yeah, your boss. Mr Kim Namjoon? The one who I have been speaking to on the phone.” You looked up at him, who was now standing in the doorway of your home, staring at you with an amused look on his face. You locked your bag after throwing your toiletries in. He let out a chuckle, making you raise an eyebrow at him.
“Ah, yes. My brother.” He said.
“Oh, you’re not- My bad.” You laughed in embarrassment, placing all your bags together.
“Jung Hoseok.” He held his hand out to you. You straightened up, shaking his hand, realising that he’s probably one of your ‘employers’. Namjoon had mentioned that the house consisted of 7 family members.
“(y/l/n) (y/n).” You introduced yourself.
“I’ll call my boys to bring your things. You ride with me.” Hoseok gestured to the door way and you followed him out. As you headed down, you saw more men come and bring your things down.
“Sir, madam.” A chauffeur came out of a Rolls Royce and opened the door for you and Hoseok to enter.
“Bosses don’t usually come all the way to pick me up personally.” You stated as the chauffeur closed the door after you entered. Your eyes followed as he ran to the driver’s seat and enter.
“Well, you’re gonna be a new, important member of the house. You’re not going to be like the other employees around. My brothers and I thought it would be best to welcome you the right way.” He laughed. You could tell Hoseok was quite a cheery, friendly person. You gave a small smile.
The drive was rather long. You looked out the window, watching as the car finally stopped in front of an iron gate. The driver poked his head out to greet a man by the gate.
“We’re here.” Hoseok looked up from his phone. As the car pulled through the gates, there was a long driveway in before a mansion came to view.
“Wow.” You looked up at the mansion.
“Impressed?” Hoseok asked.
“It’s one of the nicer houses that I’ve seen.” You said as the chauffeur opened the door for you. There was a butler and maid waiting at the front door for you and Hoseok. Seeing Hoseok, they bowed respectfully. You and Hoseok walked in first, the people with your things following behind you. The inside of the house was sleek and elegant.
“I have to go attend to some business. The head butler will take you to your room and office.” Hoseok said and you nodded.
“Bye.” You waved him off.
“You’re funny. I’ll see you later, (y/n).” Hoseok patted your shoulder.
“Take care of the doctor and make sure to get whatever she needs. She’s more a guest than employee here.” Hoseok commanded. The butler bowed his head to you and gestured down the hallway. You were brought to your room first.
“Thanks.” You placed your bag down. The other staff came in with your things, placing them neatly in the corner.
“Are you ready to see your office, doctor?” The butler asked. You hummed with a nod. You went to the stack of things, picking out some things to bring to the office with you.
“Please, let us bring it for you.” The butler waved his hand and the other staff took the items from you. The butler pointed to the door and you followed him out, closing the bedroom door behind you. This place was like a maze, it was just too big that you already knew you would be getting lost in the future.
“Here is your office. Master Namjoon has prepared everything in the list you provided.” He informed. You walked around. It definitely had everything you asked for and they were all the latest models.
“Thank you. Where is Namjoon sshi?” You asked.
“Master Namjoon is currently out for a meeting. But he should be back soon.” He informed.
“Alright. I’ll just unpack for now.” You said, sitting down behind the desk.
“If you need any assistance, please feel free to approach us.” He spoke with another bow of the head before he left you alone.
This was your job. You were a freelance doctor that worked for private clients. Depending on the contract and requirements, you would decide whether to live in their place of residence to care for them privately, as needed. The residents of this house specifically requested you live here.
It wasn’t a common job but you earned more than an average doctor would and it was less stressful since you were your own employee.
“There we go.” You unboxed everything, rearranging other items to make it more convenient for you. As you sat back down in front of your desk, you found a stack of files in the cupboard. There were 7 folders to be exact. You guessed that these were the profiles of your new clients. You began to flip through each of them. They contained the health records of the 7 men.
“Recent posterior labrum surgery.” You scribbled down some notes on a notepad. Min Yoongi seemed to be the one with the most recent health problem.
“Well.” You shut the folders and tucked them under your arm, leaving the home clinic. Thankfully, you managed to make your way back to your room to continue unpacking your own items.
After unpacking, you took a shower and changed into something more comfortable, a sweater and some jeans.
“(y/n)! Did you settle in well?” You ran into Hoseok outside.
“Yes, I did. Thank you. The office is truly impressive.” You spoke as you walked with him.
“We are the ones going to benefit for your services. If anything, we should get the state of the art equipment for you. Anyway, you should meet the rest of the family soon.” Hoseok said.
“Get some tea and snacks.” Hoseok said to a passing maid, who nodded and scurried off towards the kitchen. You’ve seen how rich clients treat their staff, it’s not new. Although you didn’t feel as comfortable, it wasn’t your place to comment or question it.
“Please, sit.” Hoseok gestured for you to sit in the living room.
“Ah, the first two. Jin hyung, Jungkook.” Hoseok called out to two males. Both were dressed in suits as well, one not wearing a blazer. You saw a full sleeve of tattoos through his white shirt.
“Dr (y/l/n), this is Jin hyung, the oldest. And this is Jungkook, the youngest.” Hoseok introduced.
“Ah, yes. The house doctor.” Jin nodded his head.
“I look forward to working together.” You shook hands with them.
“You’re the one who had heel stitches.” You said to Jungkook. Namjoon was kind enough to put a small description of everyone in the profiles. Jungkook had the doe eyes and tattoo sleeve that matched the profile.
“Yeah. But it happened a while back. Yoongi hyung-”
“Had a recent shoulder surgery.” You finished his sentence. Jin threw his head back in laughter.
“You’re funny, doc. I look forward to having you around. I think it’ll be fun..” Jin complimented and you chuckled as well. Jin and Jungkook took a seat, both enjoying the array of snacks that had been laid out. You watched their behaviours, Hoseok was definitely the most outgoing and Jungkook was the most introverted.
“Have you been to your room?” Jin asked.
“Yes. I do need to unpack more tonight though.” You said, seeing Jungkook eye a cookie on your side of the tray. You picked it up, handing it to him. He blinked with wide eyes, receiving it.
“A pretty girl in the house?” A new voice arrived and you turned your head to see a shorter, pretty male there.
“She’s more than a pretty girl, Chim. This is Dr (y/l/n).” Hoseok introduced you. You stood up and held your hand out. He blinked at your outstretched hand before him.
“Interesting...” He nodded his head slowly as he shook your hand.
“Nice to meet you, doc.” He spoke.
“The pleasure is all mine.” You let go of his hand, eyes shifting to see a figure running in behind Jimin. He crashed into the smaller male, making Jimin stumbled forward slightly. He had a boxy, yet playful grin on his face as he wrapped an arm around Jimin’s shoulders.
“You must be Taehyung sshi?” You clarified. The male’s eyes moved up to meet yours, finally realising your presence. He raised an eyebrow at you.
“You are...?”
“The doctor that Namjoon hyung was talking about.” Jimin said softly, elbowing Taehyung’s side to get out of his grip. Taehyung pulled away and took a step to the side, eyeing you up and down.
“Yoongi hyung’s babysitter?” Taehyung stifled a laugh.
“He’s gonna kill you if he hears that.” Jungkook said with an eye roll.
“Technically, when it comes to all of your healths, I am a babysitter to all of you, not only Yoongi.” You said. Jimin threw his head back with laughter but nodded in agreement.
“Where can I find Namjoon sshi?” You asked Hoseok.
“Someone looking for me?” Another voice appeared. Two more males entered the living room, one of them in a sling. Min Yoongi. The male that spoke had a authoritative aura but he sent you a smile, dimples appearing on his cheeks. Yoongi fell back into one of the armchairs. Finally, you could see all 7 brothers gathered together.
“You must be Dr (y/l/n). Apologies for not greeting you when you arrived. I hope you settled in well?” Namjoon shook hands with you.
“Yes, nice to meet you. And don’t worry, I’ve been getting well acquainted with the rest of your brothers.” You nodded over to the 5 males that you have been chatting with.
“I see, that’s good. That is Yoongi hyung.” Namjoon gestured.
“Yes, the sling was a giveaway.” You nodded.
“I can see you’re going to be a great addition to the household. If you follow me to my office, we can talk more there.” Namjoon said and you nodded, giving the others a lazy wave before walking with Namjoon.
“Please, take a seat.” Namjoon said as he closed his office door behind you. You sat down while he sat in his comfy armchair opposite you, the oak desk in between the both of you. You eyed the books on his shelf, the little figurines on the glass racks.
“Analysing me?” He chuckled.
“A little.” You shrugged. Namjoon pulled out a folder, similar to the one he had provided you about the 7 boys.
“You’re quite experienced for someone your age, doctor. I must admit, I was almost in disbelief when I first came across your profile.” Namjoon raised an eyebrow at you.
“Age and experience are two different things, Namjoon sshi.” You pointed out and Namjoon nodded his head in agreement.
“I can tell you’re quite a strong character. I hope the boys don’t cause too much trouble for you, if they haven’t already done so.” Namjoon said and you shook your head with a laugh.
“Nothing I can’t handle.” You said.
“Yes, I have no doubt that you can handle them. Aren’t you’re curious as to why 7 healthy, young men would need a house doctor on call?” Namjoon asked.
“Unfortunately, no. I don’t question clients when it comes to livelihood or what they do, unless it has something to do with their health, the less I know, the better. My only condition is, as long as you let me do my job with no problems, I’ll stay out of the way.” You said. Namjoon didn’t even hide his slight surprise by your answer.
“You’re very different, doc.” Namjoon said with a smile.
“I hear that a lot.” You smiled back.
“Yoongi hyung is the main one that needs medical attention now. But I must warn you, he can be a little stubborn.” He spoke.
“Yes, you can say I was already warned about him by Taehyung.” You chuckled with a small shrug. Namjoon nodded his head and you bowed your head, standing up.
“But I’ll see how he is for his first assessment. I like a challenge.” You turned to smirk at him.
“It’s good to remain optimistic, doc.” Namjoon smiled.
“Shall I send him to you?” Namjoon offered.
“I appreciate the offer. But like I said, you let me do my job and I’ll let you do yours.” You sent him a sweet smile and walked out of there, leaving him in his office. You hummed to yourself, your hands behind your back. As you walked, Yoongi was walking in the opposite direction.
“Yoongi sshi.” You acknowledged with a wave and he remained emotionless, only giving you a side eye before continuing his way. A smile made way to your face as you walked to your room to continue unpacking and relaxing.

KNOCK KNOCK
“My apologies for the interruption, doctor. It’s time for dinner.” The butler bowed as you poked your head out.
“Sure.” You stepped out, closing the door behind you. You followed behind him, through more hallways until he cleared his throat and stopped. He bowed and you looked out to see the 7 owners of the mansion sitting at the dinner table.
“She’s eating with us?” Yoongi scowled.
“Oh, lighten up, hyung. She’s new, a nice dinner would be the proper way to introduce her.” Hoseok grinned.
“Plus, I like her!” Jin grinned. You blinked, raising an eyebrow as you watched their exchange. Jimin had an arm over the back of his chair, a smirk on his face. Hoseok came over and grabbed your wrist, pulling you to the table. He placed his hands on your shoulders to sit you down. Never once have you eaten with the family or your clients.
“I think I should-” You started to stand.
“Stay. (y/n).” Namjoon looked over to you and you pursed your lips, staying glued to your seat. Him using your first name and authoritative voice made you comply easily.
“(y/n)’s not a normal employee, we talked about this. She’s an important member of the household now.” Namjoon said to the others. Yoongi rolled his eyes but didn’t protest any further.
“Enough, let’s eat.” Jin waved to the maid, who served the food. The butler poured wine into everyone’s glasses.
“No, thanks.” You shook your head.
“Come on, doc. Let loose a little.” Jungkook smirked.
“I’m here to work. I don’t exactly let loose on the job.” You said to him, picking up the glass of water to drink. Jungkook grinned at your reply and began to eat. You silently observed them, Yoongi eating his pre cut steak with his free hand, Jungkook stealing Jin’s food and Jimin playing around with Taehyung.
“So doc, what do your parents do?” Jimin tilted his head.
“My father is a psychiatrist. Mother is a surgeon.” You said briefly, picking up a green bean to eat.
“That explains all the analysing then.” Namjoon chuckled, sipping his wine. You shrugged in response, your parents have very much involved you in their jobs from a very young age.
“Is that why you wanted to become a doctor? Because your parents are doctors too?” Jin asked.
“I guess.” You said with another shrug. A ring cut the conversation. Jungkook looked down at his phone that was ringing. The other boys stopped eating, casting wary glances towards the youngest. Taehyung cast you a side glance.
“I’ll excuse myself, thank you for the dinner,. I’ll see you tomorrow for rehab.” You wiped your mouth with a napkin as you stood up from your seat and pointed at Yoongi with a wink. He gave you an emotionless stare. You bowed your head and left the dining room, heading back to your room. The butlers closed the doors behind you.
“Talk about tension.” You shivered and headed to your office to grab some books to read. After some exploring, you found the garden in the backyard.
“Can I go out there?” You asked a passing maid.
“Of course.” She nodded her head, even pushing open the glass door and grabbing you a pair of outdoor slippers. You bowed your head gratefully and stepped out into the night.
The breeze was cooling and comfortable. In the middle of the big garden, there was a lighted gazebo, perfect for night reading.
“Hey.” Someone said and you lifted your head up from the book in your lap to see Jimin standing there. You just stared at him. Jimin shrugged, tucking his hands into the pockets of his hoodie before sliding onto the seat opposite you. You continued reading.
“Can I help you, Jimin sshi?” You spoke, not looking at him.
“Nope.” He popped the ‘p’ sound, giggling at the end. You hummed in response, continuing to read. Jimin huffed, moving to lie down on the bench, a hand behind his head.
“You’re very different than any employee that we’ve had around here.” Jimin spoke, looking at the ceiling.
“I see...” You weren’t really interested in the small talk.
“What are you reading?” All of a sudden, you felt Jimin’s body pressed against your side, his head tilted slightly, trying to read what you were reading. He scrunched his nose as his eyes skimmed through the words.
“Boring.” He scoffed, pulling away.
“Everyone has their own taste, Jimin sshi.”
“Ugh, stop with the Jimin sshi. It’s weird hearing you say that. Just call me Jimin.” He scowled in disgust. You couldn’t help but laugh at him but nodded your head anyway. Jimin was surprisingly comfortable to be around even if you only knew each other for a few hours. He reminded you of a playful child, who was trying to get your attention.
“It’s late. You should go to bed, doc. Remember, at least 8 hours of sleep.” Jimin chided.
“Yes, Jimin.” You chuckled at how he was trying to doctor you, standing up. He walked into the house with you. Surprisingly, he followed you all the way to your room instead of leaving you.
“Goodnight, doc.” Jimin smiled.
“Goodnight, Jimin.” You gave a small nod before opening your door.

The Sommelier (Hannigram x Female!Reader) pt. 7
Y/n meets her savior and officially joins the investigation.
@deadman-inc-bikeshop @viviace and @dovahdokren here you go. If you want to be on the tag list, send me a DM.
Trigger warnings: dissociation, implied sex abuse/trafficking, discussions of death, drugs
It was only when the man left your line of sight that your senses started to return. And even then, you felt like you were on a separate plane of existence from everything happening around you. You were floating, completely numb to your surroundings, letting the world push you wherever it needed you to be.
You weren't entirely sure how you made it from the dumpsters to the FBI headquarters, but there you were.
You listened in on the conversation happening in the other room. From what you could tell, the man who saved you was arguing with his boss.
"Because if there's so much as a Tylenol in her system, you're going to pass it off to the DEA." The man said, his voice soft but firm. This wasn't the first time they had this argument and it showed.
"Will, it is not my fault that the DEA gets preferential treatment." The boss sounded exhausted. "We have a better chance of catching this man with their resources. And we can't turn a blind eye to how substances affect human behavior. I thought you of all people would accept this."
"What if there's nothing in her system?" The man posited. "Then all we have to work with is our own resources. Would that be so bad?"
"Look," the boss said, clearly trying to diffuse the situation. "We can't determine anything until forensics gets lab results back tomorrow. For now, see what you can find out from the waitress. She was able to keep her talking, maybe we can find out about what."
The man resignedly left the room and made his way to you. You glanced around the hallway, hoping he wouldn't notice that you've been eavesdropping.
He sat on the opposite end of the bench. You pulled the security blanket from the ambulance tighter around your shoulders.
"I know this is such a stupid, insensitive thing to ask," the man broke the silence. "But are you okay?"
"If it makes you feel any better," you sighed and dropped your shoulders. "I wasn't really okay to begin with."
"Yeah." The man agreed. "It doesn't matter how much you break something, it's still broken. Broken is a... Boolean value."
"It's just that.." You clutched the receipt between your fingers. "Just as I thought things were starting to improve, the universe sends me a cultist strapped to a bomb. I'm never going to recover from this."
"I don't think anyone expects you to." He said. "My name's Will, by the way."
"[F/N]." You said, just for formality's sake. He already knew your name. "I don't think I ever properly thanked you for saving my life."
"Don't worry about it." Will smiled weakly. "If you think you can, though, it would be innumerably helpful if you told us what happened."
You knew you weren't in a position to be asking for favors, but you were desperate. "Could I maybe stay with you for a while?"
Will hovered his hand over yours as if asking for permission. You took it, perhaps a little too eagerly.
"I'll stay with you as long as you want."
Will's presence made it easier to tell the man, whom you learned was the head of the Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI, everything that progressed that night.
"And then she started chanting that one bible verse about the martyrs inheriting the kingdom of heaven." You finished. "That was when Will shot her in the leg."
The director, whose name you learned was Jack Crawford, took a moment to ponder the information. You felt like a child that had been sent to the principal's office.
"Do you have any reason to believe that the woman was under the influence of any drugs? Alcohol?" Jack asked, resting his hands on the desk.
"Not with any certainty, no. I didn't see her ingest anything." You shook your head. "If she was under any influence at all, it was probably against her will."
"What makes you say that?" Jack cocked his head. "In your own time, of course."
"She was..." you glanced at Will, just to remind yourself that he was there. "Scared. Nothing she said had any conviction behind it. It was like she was a hostage being forced to read a fake suicide letter."
"What about these 'cult names' you mentioned?" Jack said. "What significance do you think they have?"
"She kept referring to Chase as 'vanguard'." You began.
"That's what Keith Raniere called himself." Jack interrupted. "Keith Raniere was the head of a sex trafficking cult."
"And the only reason I know that is because I listen to a lot of podcasts." You felt the need to explain. "I'm not sure how Mulvaney decided it would be a fitting title. Maybe he identified with Raniere."
"Did the woman call herself something, too?" Jack leaned in.
"Funny you should mention that," You forced a laugh. "Because she referred to herself as an 'unwoman'."
"That is interesting." Jack brought his hand to his temple, perhaps trying to convince you that he knew what ‘unwoman’ meant.
"He probably thinks Handmaid's Tale is some kind of instruction manual." You said, emphasizing the title of the work.
“Handmaid’s Tale!” Jack exclaimed, suddenly understanding. "So, are you thinking maybe he's running a breeding cult?"
“Like a borrasca.” You turned to Will, hoping that maybe he would understand what that meant.
As if on cue, a woman in a lab coat burst into the room.
“Dr. Katz,” Jack announced, taken aback by her urgency. “Welcome.”
“Jack, you’re going to want to see this.” Dr. Katz said simply.
Jack stood up from his seat. “Excuse me, Ms. [L/N], Will. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
Again, you were alone with Will.
“I’m...” Will broke the silence, pausing to find the right words. “Jack isn’t as scary as he looks. He just has a habit of asking too much of people. I probably shouldn’t be telling you this, but you’re perfectly within your rights to tell him to back off.”
You shook your head. “That wouldn’t feel right.”
“Tell me about it.” Will muttered and leaned back in his chair. “It does seem pretty out of character for him to want to drop the whole case on the DEA, but he does have a point about their resources. You can’t argue with money.”
“No.” You agreed. “You can’t.”
Will sighed. “I’m sorry. The last thing you probably want to hear about is FBI in-fighting after almost being killed twice in a two-week period.”
“It doesn’t really inspire confidence, no.” You said.
“Let’s talk about something else.” He offered. “Do you like... fishing?”
You laughed at his strange attempt at making conversation, but answered honestly. “I used to go fishing with my grandpa when I was a kid.”
Realizing he’d tapped into a happy memory, Will decided to follow it. “Where did he take you?”
“My grandparents had this lake house up in Michigan.” You reminisced. “On this dinky little manmade lake where all the rich boomers took their spoiled grandkids for the summer.”
“Did you ever catch anything?” He shared a little smile.
You realized that he was doing the same thing to you that you did to the unwoman. He was trying to keep you talking to avoid, or at least prolong, some catastrophic event. But he was doing it for your sake. You appreciated that.
“We pulled up a ton of bluegills, some walleyes, occasionally a bass.” You listed. “One time he and his brother-in-law settled a dispute by seeing who could catch a catfish first. They were outside all day.”
“Did he ever take you downstate to go fishing on Lake Erie?”
You stared vacantly ahead. “He wanted to.”
Will lowered his head in respect. “I’m so sorry.”
“It was, like, fourteen years ago.” You admitted. “Don’t worry about it.”
“Still,” Will shrugged. “Grief takes a lot out of you. I’m sorry for bringing it up, I had no idea.”
“At this point, most avenues in my life end in death. It’s not your fault.” You smiled at him. “Thanks for trying, though.”
You settled into another prolonged but comfortable silence.
“I think Jack is going to arrange to get you into some kind of protective custody, by the way.” He said, shifting his body to face you. “And I don’t think he’s going to give you a choice now that he knows Chase is targeting you, specifically.”
“Yeah, I was thinking about that.” You answered. “I think they’re probably going to insist I quit my job, too.”
“You sound disappointed.” Will nodded. “You’ve grown to like that job, huh?”
“I was good at it.” You admitted. “My boss was gunning for me to take over when he retired. I had big plans for that place. I know waitressing is supposed to be a job that’s ‘just a job’ but--”
“You had ambition.” Will finished. “You were making an investment for your future.”
For the first time in a while, you felt heard. “Right.”
“If you would permit me to say,” Will stood up and walked towards Jack’s desk. “I think you would be an invaluable asset to this investigation.”
You leaned on the armrest. “I don’t know, Will. I feel like I would just get in the way.”
“But the sooner we catch this sick fuck, the sooner you can get back to your restaurant.” He said, grabbing a post-it note. He gestured to you with a pen. “And I will do everything in my power to get you back to that restaurant.”
“Why?” You asked. “I’m just a waitress.”
“Your profile of Chase Mulvaney in your TattleCrime interview was a work of genius.” Will took off his glasses. “And it was incendiary enough to make him come back for you. It wasn’t just a cocaine-fueled bout of murderous hysterics. He remembered you. Now, throughout this investigation, Jack has been ignoring me. But maybe he’ll listen to you.”
“And if he doesn’t?” You raised an eyebrow. “What then?”
Will sighed and leaned back on the desk. “Then I do it myself.”
“Fuck it.” You said, the complete contents of your soul behind those two little words. If he was going to raise the stakes, by god you were going to match him. “I don’t have much else to live for, so might as well die for something.”
“That’s the spirit.” Will agreed.

                Prologue:  A Powerpoint, Really?
If you had told 16 year old Y/N that she’d be working at the FBI, she would’ve called you batshit.
Not only, did you not have any respect for authority or any inclination for rules in that matter, working for the FBI was never in the forefront of your mind. But when given the option of Jail or a full time job with benefits, it was fairly easy to make a choice. You remember the first day when you met your work partner and now best friend Penelope Garcia or specifically the day she caught you.
You were waiting tables like you did every weekend to stay afloat. Today was unreasonably slow so you were just finding small things to do. That’s when she came in, an extremely brightly dressed woman, sat at the bar of the diner.
“Hi, how can I help you?” You smile at the woman who looks up at you and smiles.
“Yes, I’m looking for the Emerald City.” She says, smirking at you. Your face drops, you knew what she was talking about.
When you started hacking it was only supposed to be a one time thing. You grew up poor, spent most of your life poor so when you saw your childhood home was set to be demolished to build a fancy new headquarters for Scotty Realins, an upcoming asshole tech CEO, without a cent going to your parents.  Something in you snapped. You had already been pretty decent at code and you flirted with a couple of guys in your STEM classes to learn how to hack so you would say you were pretty good at this point. So you hacked into the website and made sure all the Revenue for that day actually was wired to lower-income housing. At the end of the day, it was only a couple hundred thousand dollars but what was pennies to Scotty Realins changed some people's lives.
So you started doing it more, to different companies under the pseudonym OZ. The money always went to different places that needed it whether it was paying the rent for a bunch of families or anonymous large donations to food banks or soup kitchens. You gained a bit of fame in the hacker community as a modern day Robin Hood.
All good things come to an end though. And the end was standing in front of you in clunky, rainbow colored jewelry.
“You don’t look like a cop.” you say, crossing your arms.
“I’ll do you one better.” She says, pulling her FBI badge out, showing it to you briefly. You curse under your breath. “I’ve been following you for a while, OZ. Though I wasn’t expecting the man behind the curtain to be a woman. I will say, having my computers route back to a loop of “We’re not in Kansas anymore.” everytime I tried to track your IP was impressive. I couldn’t even be mad about it.”
“Clearly not that impressive because you found me.”
“Still took me longer than usual, which is saying a lot.”
“This is a really long winded conversation if you’re just here to arrest me.” You say, taking off your apron. No use in keeping it on if you were going to be in handcuffs soon.
“That’s because I’m not here to arrest you. I’m here to offer you a job, to work under me as a Tech Analyst in the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI.” Penelope says.
“And if I don’t want to?”
“Then you’re going to want a lawyer and my very good handsome friend outside is going to arrest you. You’re smart and you have a chance to help people which is why you started hacking in the first place, right? Please don’t make me do that.” She looked at you pleadingly like she really cared and didn’t want you to go to prison. You didn’t say anything but something told you she’d been in the same boat as you before.
“Hmmm…. I’m tired of waiting tables anyway.”
So you uprooted your life and moved from Philadelphia to Quantico. Garcia took you under her wing and pretty soon the two of you functioned in her batcave like a well oiled machine. You could do without the constant gore that filled your screens but at the end of the day, you loved what you were doing and you wouldn’t change that for the world.
The team was an added bonus, it was nice to have your own little found family. Garcia, of course, taking on the role as best friend mere days after your first meeting. You met Derek Morgan right after you agreed to take the job, he’d been there to arrest you and was very glad he wouldn’t have to do that. He told you often about how you reminded him of his sister and he regarded you in the role of younger sister from that day on. The next person you met had been Aaron Hotchner, your new boss. It took him a couple of weeks to warm up to you, you guessed he had a difficulty trusting new people and when he would call you guys for information he would always ask for Garcia instantly instead of you, not very trusting in your skills yet. Though that changed when you had been the one to track down the Unsub once.
Rossi was easily won over when you told him about your Italian side of the family, specifically your grandmother who loved to cook and left you a lot of recipes. You and him often went back and forth in sharing dishes. Emily and JJ had also been easily won over with one bottle of tequila and a regrettable girls night.
Then there was Dr. Spencer Reid.
You had a lot of opinions on Dr. Reid, most of them weren’t good. It wasn’t like you hated him in fact, you’d consider him a friend but the two of you seemed to butt heads on well, everything. Both of you needing to be the smartest in the room and neither of you wanting to admit when you’re wrong will do that though. You still respected Spencer though, he was an extreme asset to the team and he was your best friend’s other best friend so you couldn’t really hate the guy.
You also didn’t have to like him.
So you had a good job, good friends, a nice house to live in. You were finally happy, content even. So why did it feel like something was missing?
The something missing came in a stroller pushed by JJ the next week.
The last case had been rough. Really rough. So while the team was on their way back you and Garcia hatched a plan for JJ to come visit from maternity leave and surprise everyone with the baby. While you guys were waiting for them to land, Garcia wanted to show JJ something she had gotten her godson so JJ asked if you could watch him and feed him until she got back, which you obviously agreed to. As you were feeding the child his bottle, and his ravioli sized fist wrapped around your finger you realized what had been missing.
Fuck, you wanted a kid.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
You told Garcia first, it slipped when she noticed how off you were being. You wanted to have a kid bad now and you knew you didn’t want to wait. Penny tried to convince you that you’d “find the right person” but let’s face it, with this job, long term relationships were few and far inbetween. Plus you didn’t need a man, you had a good job and insurance, you knew you could provide a child with a life full of love it deserved. So you made an appointment at a fertility clinic. As the doctor was talking to you about your options, you felt yourself feeling more and more down about your decision and that only increased as you looked in the book of sperm donors in front of you. You looked at too many serial killers daily that it made you uneasy, carrying a stranger's baby. Maybe Garcia was right and your best bet was to wait for ‘the right guy.’ Even though you really didn’t want to.
You walked into work later, a little sullen. Heading immediately towards the coffee machine. Penelope, who had been at Derek’s desk, makes a beeline towards you.
“So how’d it go?” She says, smiling. “Did you make an appointment to be baby-fied?”
You sigh. “I couldn’t do it, Pen.” You say, frowning. “I just-- We see so much here that I don’t want to accidentally end up with a sociopath’s baby because I couldn’t wait.”
“But you don’t want to wait, do you?” She says softly, empathizing with you.
“No, I don’t.” You sigh again, finishing making your cup before walking back out into the bullpen. JJ had brought Henry again for the others to see on the slow paperwork day. You tried not to look bitter but it was like she was flaunting the one thing you couldn’t have, even if it was unintentional. You watched as she handed the baby to Spencer, who instantly smiled and made faces at the laughing baby.
“Spencer is actually a surprisingly good godfather.” Garcia says, smiling at the exchange in front of you. “Kinda makes you wonder what he’d be like with his own baby geniuses.” She says before walking over to the group and scooping her godson out of Spencer’s arms, Spencer still held on to his fist with his pinky, smiling down at the child.
“Yea…” You say, to no one in particular.
You had an idea. A probably bad one.
-------------------------------------------------------
You were sitting in the coffee shop, nervously fiddling on your laptop while waiting for Spencer. You were surprised he even agreed to meet with you for coffee though you were sure he was just doing it out of curiosity because you told him you had something important to talk about. You weren’t even sure if you were going about this the right way. Hey Spencer, I know we’re not even friends but how would you feel about fathering my child? God, this was going to be terrible.
You looked up when you heard the tell-tale bell on the door indicating someone walking in. Spencer gave you a small wave before going to the counter to get a coffee. You took that time to nervously sip yours. Your heart was beating a mile a minute, it was now or never.
“Hey.” Spencer says, when he finally gets to the table, coffee in hand. “Why are you all the way in the corner?”
“This isn’t really a conversation I want overheard.”
Spencer tilts his head confused at that. “So what is the conversation we’re supposed to be having. I asked Garcia but she seemed to also have no idea.”
“Yea, I didn’t tell her on account of this maybe going extremely bad.” You say, before sighing and turning your laptop around so Spencer could see the Powerpoint screen you have on it. When he reads it,  he chokes on his coffee.
“A Powerpoint, really?” He chokes, still coughing around the coffee. “Y/N, what is this?”
“This is Reasons Why You Should Make a Baby With me.”
“Yea, I got that from the title, Y/N.” He says, still shocked. “Is this a joke?!”
“I wish it was, Reid.”
“Can I at least ask why you thought a Powerpoint was the best way to ask?”
“Because I felt you’d be more inclined to consider it if you knew I spent time on a presentation.”
“That’s true.” He leans back, taking a sip of his coffee, gesturing for you to continue. You hit the next slide.
“Ok, reason number one is we both want kids.” You say, looking at him. “Garcia told me the other day that you were talking about how much you wanted a kid and I also want a kid.”
“I did tell Garcia that.” He muses.
“Reason two, an offspring between us would probably result in another genius. As you know, you are smart.”
“Yes.”
“And I am smarter.” You say, Spencer opens his mouth to protest but you keep talking. “A child between us could probably be the next Einstein.”
Spencer nods and you continue. “Reason three, I’d be a great mom.”
“That’s a debatable fact.”
“No, it’s not. You’ve seen me around kids, have I ever given an inclination that I wouldn’t be?” You ask, he shakes his head. “Plus, I happen to think you’d be a great father. Which brings me to Reason 4.” You say clicking through the next slide. “If you don’t want to be involved in raising that’s fine. I’m perfectly fine raising the child myself an--”
“What?! No!” Spencer says, sitting up. “If I do agree to have this baby, which I’m not completely doing yet. I want to be involved, I want them to know I’m their father and that I didn’t abandon them because I know what that’s like.” He says, seriously. You nod, already knowing this about Spencer.
“Reason 5: I’d be the perfect platonic co-parent, I won’t ask you for anything unless it’s pertaining to the child and if you decide that later down the road you want your own family, I’d be supportive and help you along the way.”
Spencer nods. “We’re never home enough for a baby.”
“That’s where you’re wrong because I’ll be here. I mainly stay here anyway and if there’s ever a case where you need a tech analyst to fly out, Garcia’s already agreed to have it already be her when I floated the baby idea around last month.”
Spencer hummed, silent for a second. “You really want a kid, huh?”
“Yes.” You say.
“So much so you’re asking me?” Spencer says, matter-of-factly. “A Coworker you barely speak to?”
Well, when he says it like that.
“Yes. I’m asking because while we don’t get along the best you are still one of the most compassionate, understanding men I know. And I know that if I have to raise this kid with somebody, you would love them just as much as I would.” You say, Spencer nods at that. “So, please?”
Spencer sighs. “When’s your next appointment? At the fertility clinic?”
You didn’t even want to ask how he knew about that. “Next tuesday.”
He nods. “I’m going with you.” He says, standing, pulling the strap of his messenger bag over his shoulder. “This isn’t a yes.”
“It’s not a no, either.” You point out.
“No, it’s not.” He says, leaving you behind in the coffee shop with a huge grin on your face.

Summary: Tony works to save Dr. Strange and Y/N. The fugitive Avengers find their way to the compound. (gifs aren’t mine)
Tumblr media
As the alien started guiding the piece of pavement towards the giant circular ship, the cloak that was around Strange tore itself free and flew the piece of pavement away.
“No!” The alien yelled, following after it.
Iron Man and Spider-Man were both fighting off the large alien in the nearby park Tony had crashed into, when the pavement piece flew passed. All Tony could see was the cloak and the alien following, so he knew it was Strange and that he was in trouble.
“Kid, that’s wizard,” Tony told Peter, blocking an attack. “Get on it.”
“On it!” Peter replied, quickly swinging in that direction.
Spider-Man chased after the skinny alien, who was floating speedily and upright on a small platform of burbling debris. Swinging in between the pavement and the alien, Peter tried to tie up the alien. The alien attacked back, throwing a billboard at Spider-Man.
“Not cool!” Peter responded.
The alien bent all the utility poles in the path of the feeing clock, finally snagging the garment and ripping it loose of the pavement. Spider-Man re-arrived on the scene, finally noticing something.
“Uh, Mr. Stark? We have a problem,” Peter’s nervous voice rang over the comms.
“What is is kid?” Tony replied, still fighting off the larger alien. “I’m kinda in the middle—“
“Both the wizard and Miss Rogers are unconscious on the floating piece of road.”
“What?! I’ll be right there!”
Peter swung down to the pavement and stood on it, careful to not step on Strange or Y/N. Bending down, he went to break Y/N free when a cone of blue light began to pull the group upwards. Spider-Man jumped off, grabbing onto the nearest light post while using his webbing to try and keep the piece of pavement in place. The alien quickly uprooted the light post, sending Dr. Strange, the cloak, Y/N, and Peter on their way to the circular ship.
“Uhhh, Mr. Stark?” Peter called again. “I’m being beamed up!”
“Hang on, kid!” Tony responded.
Before Tony could fly over there, the giant alien he was fighting pinned Tony to the ground by his hammer that doubled as a claw. As the giant jumped towards Iron Man, blades ready to end the fight, he was sent through a portal instead. The alien turned and leaped  to return back through the portal, but Wong rapidly closed it and only the giant’s severed hand made its way back to the park. Bruce kicked the hand way with a noise of disgust. Iron Man then shook himself free of the weapon.
“Wong, you’re invited to my future wedding!” Tony exclaimed before beginning to fly towards the large ship. “Give me a little juice, FRIDAY.”
Iron Man’s foot thrusters suddenly morphed together into a single larger thruster, increasing his speed considerably.
Tumblr media
Peter, not being able to keep hold of the pavement piece, was hanging onto the ship as it flew up into space. The alien and the piece of pavement with Strange and Y/N on it, had disappeared into the ship. Tony knew that Peter wasn’t going to be able to hold on or breathe for much longer.
“Unlock 17-A,” Tony ordered FRIDAY. “Pete, you gotta let go. I’m gonna catch you.”
“But you said save the wizard!” Peter responded. Gasping from lack of oxygen, Peter ripped off his mask. “I can’t breathe!”
“You’re too high up. You’re running out of air.”
“Yeah! That makes sense.”
Quickly, Peter passed out, free-falling, but not before the pod Tony had set out reached him. It attached itself to him, becoming a new suit. Now being able to breathe, Spider-Man landed on the bottom part of the ship.
“Mr. Stark, it smells like a new car in here!” Peter commented.
“Happy trails, kid,” Tony replied. “FRIDAY, send him home.”
“Yep,” FRIDAY answered.
A large parachute extended from the new Spider-Man suit, spending him back towards earth.
“Oh, come on!” Peter shouted.
Iron Man latched onto the hull and cut a hole to board the ship, looking for wherever Strange and Y/N were taken.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Boss, I have lifeforms detected in the ship,” FRIDAY informed. “One of them is most likely Agent Rogers.”
“Can you tell me if she’s breathing?”
A pause. “It appears she is.”
“Okay… I need you to—“
“I’m sorry, Boss, but we seem to be losing connection. We’re too far away from—“ Then FRIDAY”s line cut.
~~~
“Still no word from Vision?” The holographic image of Secretary Ross asked Rhodey. Rhodey was at the compound, dealing with the red tape.
“Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh,” Rhodey replied.
“On a stolen Quinjet with four of the world's most wanted criminals.”
“You know they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right, sir?”
“My God, Rhodes, your talent for horseshit rivals my own.”
“If it weren't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here.”
“I remember your signature on those papers, Colonel.”
“That's right. And I'm pretty sure I've paid for that.”
“You have second thoughts?”
“Not anymore.”
Suddenly, the fugitive Avengers (Sam, Wanda, Nat, and Steve) entered the room. Vision was being supported by Sam.
Tumblr media
“Mr. Secretary,” Steve greeted, firmly.
“You got some nerve,” Ross said, hologram walking up to the Captain. “I’ll give you that.”
“You could use some of that right now,” Natasha replied.
“The world's on fire. And you think, all is forgiven?”
“I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking for permission,” Steve stated. “Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight.” He took a step towards the hologram. “And if you wanna stand in our way… we’ll fight you too.”
Tumblr media
Ross turned to Rhodes. “Arrest them.”
Tumblr media
“All over it,” Rhodey responded before swiping off the hologram. “That’s a court-martial. It’s great to see you, Cap.”
The two men hugged. “You too, Rhodey,” Steve responded before Natasha went to hug Rhodey.
Tumblr media
“Well. You guys really look like crap. Must've been a rough couple of years.”
“Yeah, well, the hotels weren’t exactly five star,” Sam commented.
“Uh, I think you look great,” Bruce nervously walked in from the opposite end of the room. “Uh… heh… Yeah. I’m back.”
Tumblr media
“Hi, Bruce,” Nat greeted softly.
Tumblr media
“Nat.”
Tumblr media
“This is awkward,” Sam whispered.
Tumblr media
Steve looked around. “Has anyone heard from Y/N?” He asked. “She’d want to know—“
“She’s missing too, Steve,” Bruce interrupted. “When I found Tony to get his help, Y/N was with him.”
“She was… she was with him? But Y/N’s a fugitive as well. How—“
“Mr. Stark and Miss Rogers have been sneaking around,” Vision cut Steve off.
“What?!” Steve and Rhodey exclaimed.
“It’s been happening for about a year now.”
“Miss Rogers has been seeing Boss and Sergeant Barnes,” FRIDAY clarified. “Trying to work through her feelings.”
“Thats… and she never…” Steve was at a loss for words.
“You didn’t try to reach out to her either, Cap,” Sam said. “You even knew she was staying in Wakanda. T’Challa told you. And you refused to reach out.”
“What happened?” Steve asked, looking at Bruce.
“She got captured,” Bruce explained. “Tony went after the ship to protect her and the Time Stone.”
“Why don’t we take this into the other room?” Rhodey suggested. “Perhaps get you guys something to drink.”
They went into the next room over, each standing or sitting around the room. Bruce explained more of what happened and the other group explained what happened to them.
Tumblr media
“So we gotta assume they’re coming back, right?” Rhodey questioned.
“And they can clearly find us,” Wanda added.
“We need all hands on deck,” Bruce stated. “Where’s Clint?”
“After the whole Accords situation, he and Scott took a deal,” Nat answered. “It was too tough on their families, they're on house arrest.”
“Who’s Scott?”
“Ant-Man,” Steve replied.
“There's an Ant-Man and a Spider-Man? Okay, look… Thanos has the biggest army in the universe. And he is not gonna stop until he... he gets... Vision's Stone.”
“Well then, we have to protect it,” Nat stated.
“No, we have to destroy it,” Vision said. "I've been giving a good deal of thought to this entity in my head, about its nature. But also, its composition. I think if it were exposed to a sufficiently powerful energy source, something, very similar to its own signature, perhaps… its molecular integrity could fail.”
Tumblr media
“And you, with it,” Wanda said. “We’re not having this conversation.”
“Eliminating the stone is the only way to be certain that Thanos can't get it.”
“That’s too high a price.”
Vision took Wanda’s face gently with both hands. “With Y/N off world, only you have the power to pay it.” Wanda walked away, distressed. “Thanos threatens half the Universe. One life cannot stand in the way of defeating him.”
“But it should,” Steve said, looking at Vision. “We don’t trade lives, Vision.”
“Captain, 70 years ago, you laid down your life to save how many millions of people. Tell me, why is this any different?”
Tumblr media
“Because you might have a choice,” Bruce suggested. “Your mind is made up of a complex construct of overlays. JARVIS, Ultron, Tony, me, the Stone. All of them mixed together. All of them learning from one another.”
“You’re saying Vision isn’t just the Stone?” Wanda asked.
Tumblr media
“I'm saying that if we take out the Stone, there's still a whole lot of Vision left. Perhaps the best parts.”
“Can we do that?” Nat wondered.
“Not me. Not here.”
“You better find someone, and somewhere fast,” Rhodey said. “Ross isn't exactly just gonna let you guys have your old rooms back.”
“I know somewhere,” Steve stated. “Wakanda. But someone first has to explain how Y/N has anything to do with the Stone.”
Tumblr media
“70 years ago, the Tesseract chose her to be the protector of the Stones,” Vision explained, knowing the story due to housing the Mind Stone in his head. “That’s how she survived the fall. The Tesseract holds the Space Stone. Her powers come for each of the Stones, so she has the power to destroy the Stones, by channeling them. Y/N is able to wield and control the all the Stones.”
“What I showed her…” Wanda said quietly. “It was the Stone… Y/N’s the key to stopping Thanos.”
~~~
T’Challa already knew Y/N was missing before Steve had contacted him. With Okoye and two other guards, he made his way to Bucky’s place. Bucky was throwing bags onto a partly-filled car, being watched by two village children.
“You’ll have the Kingsgaurd, and the Dora Milaje have been alerted,” Okoye told T’Challa as they made their way towards Bucky’s small hut.
“And the Border Tribe?” T’Challa wondered.
“Those that are left.”
“Send word to the Jabari as well. M’Baku likes a good fight.”
“And what of this one?” Okoye looked at Bucky, just down the hill.
“This one may be tired of war. But the White Wolf has rested long enough.”
They made their way to Bucky. The guards set an elaborate and high-tech looking case down on the cart. They opened the lid to reveal the black and gold vibranium arm that Bucky had worn on Valentine’s Day.
Bucky sighed. “Where’s the fight?” He asked.
Tumblr media
“On its way,” T’Challa answered. “And, Barnes…” The King glanced over at Okoye. “There’s something else. It’s about Y/N.”
Bucky was immediately alert. “What is it?”
“She’s missing.”
~~~
Dr. Strange was floating horizontally, face down, surrounded by dozens of long, glassy needles, as the alien interrogated him. Y/N was still unconscious, tied to the pavement off to the side.
“In all the time I’ve served Thanos, I’ve never failed him,” the alien told Dr. Strange. “If I were to reach our rendezvous on Titan with the Time Stone still attached to your vaguely irritating person, there would be... judgement.” The needles began to contact Dr. Strange’s face, causing pain. “Give me… the Stone.”
Tony was watching, hiding from above. After receiving a tap on the arm, Tony turned around, hand up and ready to shoot. Tony stood stand after seeing that it was the cloak.
“Wow, you’re a seriously loyal piece of outerwear, aren’t you?” Tony commented.
Tumblr media
“Yeah, un speaking of loyalty…”
Tony and the cloak turn, completely shocked, to see Peter dropping down from above.
Tumblr media
“What the—“
Tumblr media
“I know what you’re gonna say,” Peter interrupted, holding his hands out.
“You should not be here,” Tony stated.
Tumblr media
“I was gonna go home—“
“I don’t wanna hear it.”
Tumblr media
“But it was such a long way down and I just thought about you and Y/N on the way—”
“And now I gotta hear it.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“—and I kinda stuck to the side of the ship. And this suit is ridiculously intuitive, by the way. So if anything, it’s kinda your fault that I’m here.”
Tumblr media
Both the cloak and Tony looked shocked, again. “What did you just say?”
Tumblr media
“I take that back. And now I’m here in space.”
“Yeah.” Tony went to stand right in front of Peter. “Right where I don’t want you to be. This isn’t Coney Island. This isn't a field trip. It's a one-way ticket. You hear me? Don't pretend like you thought this through. You could not have possibly thought this through.”
Tumblr media
"No. I did think this through.”
“You could not have possibly thought this through.”
“It's just .. you can't be a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man if there's no neighborhood.” Peter waited to get something from Tony, but nothing. “Okay. That didn't really make any sense, but you know what I'm trying to say.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tony let out a shaky breath. “Come on. We got a situation.”
Tumblr media
Tony led Peter over to where they could see Dr. Strange, Y/N, and the alien. Peter crouched down to study the situation and the cloak leaned over his shoulder.
“See him down there?” Tony pointed to Dr. Strange. “He’s in trouble. And Y/N laying over there as well. What’s your plan? Go.”
“Um. Okay, okay… uh…” Peter stuttered, trying to think. He and the cloak popped back upright. “Okay. Did you ever see this really old movie, Aliens?”
~~~
Meanwhile, the Stones were talking to an unconscious Y/N.
“You can’t stop what’s coming… it will come, no matter what. You are being saved for the final battle… we will stop you from doing anything to prevent what needs to happen. What’s supposed to happen… someday, you will understand. There are things meant to be learned, things meant to happen, that we will not let you stop… use your powers wisely.”
She gasped quietly, waking up. Y/N quickly studied her surroundings. She could feel the Time Stone close before she noticed the predicament Dr. Strange was in. The glass spikes were pressing into Strange’s skin, causing him to let out a groan.
“Painful, aren’t they?” The alien taunted. Ebony Maw, the name was, Y/N finally getting inside his head. “They were originally designed for microsurgery. And any one of them—“
There was a thump behind Maw, he turned to see Iron Man standing there. Tony’s hand repulsers were ready to fire. Y/N closed her eyes and focused on getting out of the utility ropes without making a big scene.
“—could end your friend’s life in an instant,” Maw continued.
“I gotta tell you, he’s not really my friend,” Tony responded. “Saving his life is more a professional courtesy.”
“Ah, yes. It’s the girl you’re really after.” Maw walked slowly towards Iron Man, beckoning very large metal objects to float behind him. “Too bad you’ve saved nothing. Your powers are inconsequential compared to mine.”
“Yeah, but the kid’s seen more movies.”
Iron Man fired a rocket from his shoulder which pierces the side of the ship to Maw’s right and began to suck everything out with depressurization, including Y/N. She quickly portaled herself to behind Tony, relieving herself from the binds. Maw was sucked out into space quickly. Dr. Strange was pulled loose of his bindings and the needles, also heading for the hole. The cloak quickly wrapped around Dr. Strange, trying to keep him inside. Strange and the cloak lost their grip, but Spider-Man shot a web strand, holding him in place. Or trying to.
The web broke, sending both Strange and Peter towards space. Suddenly, Peter’s suit releases metal spider-like arms, keeping him from being sucked out. Y/N quickly portaled Strange behind her.
“Yes!” Peter shouted, looking at the metal arms. “Wait, what are those?!”
Using the metal arms, Peter leaped to get to a safer place. Tony quickly sprayed nano-particles onto the hole to plug it. Spider-Man landed on his new legs, quickly retracted them. He found the cloak hovering next to him.
“Hey, we haven’t officially met,” Peter said, offering the cloak his hand. It ignored it, going straight to Strange. “Cool.”
Tony’s suit quickly disappeared back into the arc reactor as he rushed to Y/N. He grabbed onto her arms, examining her body for any injuries.
“Are you alright? Are you hurt?” He asked. Tony’s hands found a place on her cheeks. “Tell me you’re—“
“I’m fine, Tony,” she responded. “I’m fine.”
He gave her a kiss before pulling her in for a hug. “I was so worried.”
“I’m fine.” She hugged him back, breathing him in. “I’m fine.”
“We’ve gotta turn this ship around,” Strange stated.
“Yeah. Now he wants to run,” Tony replied. “Great plan.”
“No, I want to protect the Stone.”
Tony walked towards the front window, showing that they were speeding. “And I want you to thank me now. Go ahead, I’m listening.”
“For what? Nearly blasting me into space?”
“Who just saved your magical ass? Me.”
“Technically it was me,” Y/N added.
“I seriously don’t know how you fit your head into that helmet,” Strange scoffed.
“Admit it. You should have ducked out when I told you to,” Tony continued. “I tried to bench you. You refused.”
“I tried to bench your girlfriend, yet she refused as well. And, unlike everyone else in your life, I don’t work for you.”
“And due to that fact, we’re now in a flying doughnut billions of miles away from Earth with no backup.”
“I’m backup,” Peter said, raising his hand.
“No. You’re a stowaway.” Tony pointed his finger between himself and Strange. “The adults are talking.”
“I’m sorry, I’m confused as to the relationship here,” Strange said. “Wh—what is he, your ward?”
“No,” Peter responded. “I’m Peter, by the way.”
“Dr. Strange.”
“Oh, we're using our made-up names. Um... I'm Spider-Man, then."
“Peter,” Y/N muttered, rolling her eyes.
“This ship is self-correcting its course,” Tony stated. “Thing’s on autopilot.”
“Can we control it?” Strange asked, walking closer to Tony. “Fly us home.”
Tony, looking out in space, was lost in bad memories. Of going through the portal, of what Wanda showed him.
“Tony?” Y/N called softly, stepping towards him. She was concerned.
“Yeah?” He responded. He met her gaze briefly, quickly looking away cause it was not the time for him to be freaking out or for her to be reading him.
“Can you get us home?” Strange asked.
“Yeah. I heard you. I’m thinking… I’m not so sure we should.”
“What?” Y/N questioned. “Why?”
“Under no circumstance can we bring the Time Stone to Thanos,” Strange stated. “I don't think you quite understand what's at stake here.”
Tony talked over to Strange. “No. It's you who doesn't understand, that Thanos has been inside my head for six years since he sent an army to New York and now he's back! And I don't know what to do. Because I am not sacrificing Y/N for the sake of the universe, for whatever the Stones have told her is her destiny. So I'm not so sure if it's a better plan to fight him on our turf or his but you saw what they did, what they can do. At least on his turf, he's not expecting it. So I say we take the fight to him. Doctor. Do you concur?”
Tumblr media
Strange was silent for a moment. “Alright, Stark. We go to him. But you have to understand... if it comes to saving you or the kid or the Time Stone... I will not hesitate to let either of you die. I can't, because the fate of the universe depends on it.”
“Nice. Good. Moral compass. We're straight.” Tony stepped over to Peter, formally tapping each of Peter’s shoulders. “Alright kid. You’re an Avenger now.”
“You skipped me,” Y/N said, walking up to Strange.
“Excuse me?” He questioned.
“You said that if it came between saving Tony, Peter, or the Time Stone, that you’d choose the Time Stone… but what about me?”
“You and I both know, Y/N, that the Stones will not let you die until you have completed what they need you for. No matter what that may be.”

I know some people prefer consistent content but I like to take it as it comes and sometimes life happens and other projects need to take priority.
So right now, I consider this to be a mid season break. Techno going into the prison was like the midseason finale for the Dream Prison Arc and Wilbur and Ranboo’s stuff was like their midseason finale and the Red Banquet where the egg was contained, was a midseason finale and alllllllll the mini episodes we’ve had since there are like specials etc.
You know, like how in Dr Who you can go a few years without a solid season but get a special at Christmas and New Year? You know like that.
So like all other programs, stories, videos I watch, I am coming up with ways in which the next bit could go. Some are a bit out there and definitely not happening, others I could see happening.
This is long and pointless and full or errors both grammatically and spelling wise but I had fun thinking of what could happen next. Read if you want.
Dream escapes prison with Technoblades help. A server wide man hunt comes for Dream but unlike his videos he had stolen the spare armour in the prison and so is pretty OP making it easier for him to put distance between his enemies and himself.
Technoblade returns to the artic and him, Phil and Will come to an in pass, a slight disagreement. Philza whilst having sided with Dream before, knows he’s not a good guy. Only used him to help destroy lmanburg for his own morals. It was not because he agreed with Dream. In his eyes, he was using Dream for his own goals. Plus, now he’s seen the aftermath of Dream’s terror on the citizens he realises the man perhaps shouldn’t be set to run entirely free. This slightly goes against Techno’s beliefs but the main issue of tension between them is Technoblade willingly placing himself in danger when he didn’t need too and helping release the man who tortured Tommy and clearly has something going on with Ranboo thats bad.
Wilbur is angry because Techno won’t say where Dream has gone due to an agreement between the two and Technoblade is a man of his word. Wilbur wishes to thank and meet the man who saved him. This also worries Philza because he’s worried he’ll revert back to the man he saw the day he blew up L’Manburg. Over all tension between the three
Niki and Wilbur finally meet and it is as heartbreaking as it is beautifully tragic. Wilbur apologises but misses the mark, misses what hurt her which hurts her more. There’s an explosion with their argument that leaves a stunned silence. Niki asks Wilbur to leave. He does so.
This leads to a Wilbur and Ranboo conversation where Ranboo tries to reason with Wilbur about Niki’s side. Wilbur brushes it off because much like the blue counterpart we all miss, he’s not a fan of the negative emotion. He tries to focus on the business etc and let’s slip that Dream has escaped somehow. Ranboo leaves. Wilbur is confused but distracted by a confrontation with Quackity.
Ranboo then starts his stream and he’s in the fucking panic room and he’s panicking because there are signs so many signs and they don’t make sense. Theres lesson rules, asking about the missing journal and it’s like every issue he’s ever faced is staring right back at him because Ranboo has never really resolved any issue, just pushed and moved on. He’s tried but that usually failed and for a while he’s ignored all the issues and here they are in front of him, all at one. A big volcanic eruption of anxiety and stress, and it ain’t sitting with him.
Dream appears. But is it really him? We never know because after a conflict and a back and fourth about everyone in Ranboo’s life eventually landing on a threat about Michael and Tubbo, he blacks out and the stream ends.
Quackity is livid with everything thats happening, the careful empire he’s building is falling apart and he’s shifting the blame around from person to person. He manipulates everyone around them into believing this is somehow their own fault and that they must make it up to him because he has been nothing but kind and loving to them. He gave them a place, a roof on their head when they had nothing. He misses out the parts where he insulted and or destroyed their homes, but it works and his employee “family” become the main bounty hunters for Dream, with Bad and Ant tagging along since they’re guards.
Now the streams relating to the manhunt displays everyones wants. They’re all doing this wanting something, and whilst it’s to gain Quackity’s favour back they’re all doing that for different reasons. Their motivations are somewhat different even if on the surface they are the same and so on the man hunts, because there will be many, this is slowly picked apart and through that the manipulation of Quackity is revealed and then we see a parrallel between Quackity and previous people in power where they start to get desperate to keep control over the thing they’ve created. Because that’s been one of (not the only) issues with every leader on the server, the control and their feeling of lack of, even if thats not truly the case. But you get these moments between all the characters where they’re trying to outwit one another, trying to figure it out without blatantly saying it. Maybe Foolish does. He’s a bit of a himbo.
Ponk always said he’d leave the door open for Sam and I truly think something happens, whether it be a look in the mirror with one of his guards going too far with someone or a conversation with Quackity where Quackity holds the mirror up to Sam maliciously, that causes him to hit the rock bottom and just break and I want that breakdown in front of Ponk. And I want Ponk not necessarily to give him the second chance off the bat but give him that peace offering, give him that hand to pull him up. I want him to take Sam to Niki and explain to Niki we’ve done bad things in the past, this is a safe haven and I believe Sam needs help and a place he can truly feel safe and for a moment Sam does and this begins his raid to redemption in gaining back the trust of the people in his lives. He becomes Tubbo 2.0 spying on Quackity like Tubbo did for Wilbur, but maybe less... bad.
But what of the Fiances? Wellllll,. With Dream escaping him and George meet in secret. George confesses he doesn’t believe it’s real and for a long time has been struggling with reality. He misses the early days, misses when they’d just have fun. Dream says he was having fun and George says I wasn’t. Dream shows true regret for George but says its too late now, can’t change the past. George agrees. Dream asks him what he’s going to do and he simply replies with “Sleep” Ending stream.
Sapanps stream is a lot more WE ARE GOING ON A DREAM HUNT WE’RE GOING TO CATCH A BIG ONE, I’M NOT SCARED. vibes. He’s gearing up, he’s suiting up and he’s saluting pets on the way. He made a promise and with everything else going on in his life, he’s ready to throw himself into a distraction. He tries to convince George to help him but he waves him off saying, what’s the point? and mumbles something about divine powers and dreams which Sapnap just shakes off. He tries to find Karl in Kinoko but instead comes across Quackity. They have a blow up about how They abandoned each other, both did wrong but neither see the other side of things and eventually he tells him to leave. Quackity says okay, and the place blows up. Foolish cries in the corner. All that heard work but the boss said so. Sapnap ends the whole thing saying at least he’s there for Karl and Quackity pauses and is like why? And Sapnap is all like you care. Just go, you’ve done enough damage, I can’t have you damaging him too. And after a little more but but but between the two, Quackity goes. Sapnap leaves the place to burn, going to find Dream and hopefully Karl on the way.
Karls in space. That’s where his latest travels have taken him and where the other side decided was his time to visit. Here I see a Wizard in Oz scenario where solutions to some issues will be revealed for Karl in relation to the other side. When it comes to his Dream SMP stuff, he starts confusing names and people more and Sapnap is worried about him, considering keeping him in a safe place. The only place that survived was the library with Karls books. Karl says he’ll stay there. Thats where the answers are anyway. Sapnap is unsure and gets bad vibes but is distracted by a lead on Dream and agrees, he tells him he’ll be back soon.
They don’t see each other for a long ass time
I’m not sure on the egg stuff but I do feel Niki and Puffy should have a conversation about all the shit thats happened and Puffy trying to help Niki and vice versa. I feel like Puffy should reach out to Foolish and try and comprehend what the fuck is he doing with Quackity. They have a little argument but it comes to a point where Puffy realises she cannot shield Foolish from harm and that her son ,just make his own decisions. All she can do is guide him where she can and hope that when it comes down to it he will make the right choice. She hopes she didn’t fail this dependant like she did with Dream her duckling. Though only she sees it as failure.
Jack and Niki finally talk. She goes searching for some things and comes to his new place, he tells her to fuck off and that he doesn’t need anyone. They all abandon him. Niki pretty much does the verbal equivalent of slap some sense into him as she and him discuss how he is not the centre of everything, how he is not the sun. She was hurting, and he didn’t bother, no instead they just fed off each others anger and once he couldn’t feed of her or anyone else he isolated himself. She tries to convince him there are better things in life, there are better ways to place your energy etc. A lot of healing talk with Jack being stubborn. Eventually Jack finds himself at the door of Quackity after sticking to stubbornness, not quite ready to heal and he becomes the next member of Las Nevadas. A big blow to Wilbur too.
They finally destroy the egg with magic. I dunno how but either destroy or hatch. Either or would be great. Red comes out the thing and I want a gay ass villain please. Bring it Red. Let’s go. Invite him to the server, bring the fire, bring the plant power Red. He can be the villain that unites everyone in a begrudging way. Like they all hate each other but fine i guess we’ll team to stop Red and Ant.
Skeppy’s dead.
Tubbo and Ranboo have a fight but Ranboo says “Weren’t we enough?” and it’s in relation to him and Michael (this happens before panic room). Thats when Tubbo realises where the wires got crossed and he immediately rectifies it but explaining he’s happy with the two of them but he wanted a job, something to work towards. Family wise he’s got it all, he’s content with it all but he wanted a project and one that didn’t incite violence. Fun rivalry sure, but he’s done with violence, he’s doesn’t want to add to the nightmares he already has. He wants competition but not one that will put all he loves in danger. So they talk it out and Ranboo feels more confident and Tubbo asks him to tell him if he ever takes anything too far because he can get a little carried away sometimes. Ranboo agrees and then they have a cute playdate with Michael. Then Ranboo does the thing with Wilbur and ends up in panic room.
Tommy and Tubbo discuss everything and lay it all out on the table because Tommy doesn’t want to be on the other side again with Tubbo. Tubbo doesn’t understand why everyone is making such a big deal about his burger business and Tommy tries to explain the issues with Quackity and the level of intensity he’s seen with Wilbur but Tubbo just laughs it off. They eventually talk about Ranboo and Tommy relents saying he likes Ranboo although he does sometimes get jealous of how Tubbo seems to have it all. Tubbo tells Tommy of his nightmares and so does Tommy to Tubbo. They come to an understanding with each other and understand that no matter how long they go apart, there is always a space shaped to fit them perfectly in their lives for them. Tubbo and Tommy then go play some pranks.
Wilbur is unhappy with the pranks and gives a lecture and they get into a fight. This leads to Wilbur talking man to man to Quackity. Theres some weird sexual tension. Once again they’re trying to outwit one another. That when we get to the crazy stuff.
And here’s where I get crazy with my stuff.
Ponk is digging in his lil cave when he accidentally breaks through to a random room buried deep underground. Tommy’s there trying to scam him out of something he has. Tubbo and Ranboo too. When they get to this room Ranboo thinking it’s the panic one and freaks out, but the others calm him down. Ponk thinking theres diamonds in the room storms ahead setting off some traps but surviving. Tubbo opens one of the chests and just says theres a bucket in there. Ponk pulls it out and says it has a named fish in it.
You see where I’m going.
They empty the bucket whilst asking what the fish is called. They are interrupted by a voice. It’s Sally.
Dream had captured her and bound her to a bucket and put her in the chest and hid her from Wilbur.
She has been released. She freaks out over how much time has past because for her nothing has changed at all. She thought it might have been a couple of hours or something since Dream pulled that prank on her but clearly not.
They all catch up and the season ends with Sally and Wilbur meeting in front of Quackity, Dream in the shadows and Sally and Wilbur turning to see Fundy who just freaks the fuck out.
Oh and just a side, Callahan is the last member of the syndicate and God of the server and is having fun playing with the mortals.
And then I have the next season planned out and how I’d end the whole thing but like until then. This is it. Mid Season to finale. How I picture things happening.
None of this will happen but isn’t it fun to imagine?

i’m late to the party but. thoughts on story mode (i finished it two days after release i’m just. forgetful)
you know what? i liked it. it wasn’t perfect: it lost the plot thread of “looking for craig” after a bit and just felt like more of “progression for the sake of progression” but maybe that’s because it didn’t stay actively super focused ON looking for craig. i wish we got more reasoning as to why we’re using an OE-style testing system besides “because the humans thought it was fun or something” and “the devs like this style of level design i guess”.
but those are really my only main gripes. if it had been a bit tighter written and fixed up the plot focus + explanation for level design, it would’ve been perfect.
big fan of the logs, the tone and art style were very good while giving us some awesome backstory. the liquid crystal concept is really good, as it being “responsive to electrical impulses” means it can respond to both the brain and muscular activity, so it perfectly explains why inklings + octolings can change ink color in such sophisticated ways. this plot point finally explaining how sapient life re-emerged after only 12000 years is also very nice, i always had a runaway theory that it was radiation or another human influence on evolution. i just REALLY like this plot point it’s super good okay THE CHEMICALS TURNED THE CEPHALOPODS GAY
deep cut’s involvement was.... pretty alright? i don’t see the complaints; they really are just Team Rocket, and while their turnaround near the end feels kinda weak it fits thematically and that’s more important overall. i like how much they care for their community. big man’s boss fight was underwhelming + probably should’ve been first; compared to frye and shiver it was just. eh. even if it is a mario reference
mr. grizz being the Big Bad was really delightful; i actually didn’t expect splatdevs to commit to “he’s just a sapient bear” as a bit and his design is nothing short of the funniest thing possible. he doesn’t really come out of nowhere given the After Alterna logs: being drawn to a hold of human technology in a mammal-less world feels coherent and his backstory as a whole feels fine. the finale in space was great, decently challenging, and all I could think of was “this is just the Sonic Adventure 2 finale. this is JUST finalhazard”. the bear even shoots lasers, amazing
little buddy ascending to divine status? excellent. flawless. i lost my mind when that happened and the Inkantation really does just Do Stuff huh. having a degree of mysticism and magic, very very faintly in the mundane things like the Inkantation or the fax machine, feels very nice. little buddy said “no, i don’t want us all to die, i’ll fight and risk my life” and i have infinite feelings about it
finally YES I GOT MY OCTAVIO REDEMPTION ARC. kind of. him being the first boss was a fun sucker punch and the notion of “i’m looking for my people who got KIDNAPPED. where ARE THEY” --> “oH IT’S YOU. FUCK YOU IN PARTICULAR” is good. i wish we knew more about what he had been up to during the story mode, but we might get info later or something. also others have said this but the fact that he’s the one that calls the Inkantation “that heavenly melody” is really really good because it feels like he’s finally, truly come around, giving a sense of unity to the group in the face of annihilation. i really love that.
tl;dr it wasn’t perfect but as a splatoon worldbuilding and loremonger i am genuinely very delighted. it was a crazy ride and i screamed way too many times over all the crazy twists and turns

Heroes (And a Villain) Handling a Laughably Unfit S/O
Headcanons I came up with while thinking about how pathetic I am during my daily workout routines.
Yagi Toshinori
Tumblr media
It’s really impressive that you’re nearly as frail as him, and you don’t even have the excuse of fighting powerful villains and missing major organs.
He helped transform little Deku into a capable vessel for One For All. You shouldn’t be a problem! Don’t worry, he’s not gonna have you carrying heavy junk everyday.
We’ve seen that Toshi still exercises, so now he’s going to drag you along on his daily jogs. No excuses. If his skeleton ass can do it, then so can you.
He’s sad about the state he’s in now, but he’s still going to do everything he can to stay relatively healthy, and so should you, dammit.
Exhausting yourselves but also motivating each other keeps both of your spirits up.
He’s going to do what he can to rescue his lover from one of the greatest evils in the world: Physical Inactivity.
Toshi: Look at that, we reached the beach this time.
You: Are you serious? We only ran that far? Ugh, this is pitiful.
Toshi: It’s less pitiful than our last run. Good job.
You: You too :)
Shouta Aizawa
Tumblr media
If Aizawa is going to help you, he’s not gonna half-ass it. Get ready to endure his personal workout plan.
He tries to not look too disappointed when you collapse on the fifth push-up. He’s convinced that this is gonna be more tiresome for him than for you.
No, he is not going to let you screw up your schedule and take any breaks because you didn’t sleep well or your leg hurts.
“Every morning, seven days a week. That’s all I’m asking for. Learn some discipline.”
Will make sure you’re fit enough to at least throw a basic punch and kick.
He’s gonna make you do shit like tumbling as well. Flexibility is important.
When you fall over because you managed to hurt your ankle during some jumping jacks, he just stares.
Aizawa: “You’re expelled.”
You: “Huh?? From what?”
Aizawa: “I don’t know. But you’re expelled.”
Yamada Hizashi
Tumblr media
Hizashi is more like your personal cheerleader than a coach.
“GET PUMPED!!” is a playlist he made specially for you with music that should keep you more hyped than Rocky Balboa himself.
He’s gonna make sure you at least have enough stamina to keep up with him when you dance together.
“Hi I’m Present Mic and I’m your freestyle dance teacher.”
There’s nobody better than him when it comes to giving you full-body workouts while being super fun about it.
Your phone will buzz with voice messages. “HEEEY, my baby better be groovin’ right now! I hope you have the ‘Wiggle Wop’ memorized when I come back ‘cause I’ll be putting you to the test!”
tl;dr Hizashi is Zumba Fitness.
Hawks
Tumblr media
When Hawks hears you say that you want to improve your cardio...
“Oh, so you think you should walk more? I guess you won’t be taking any more flights with me.”
Say goodbye to your living personal plane. He’ll encourage you to reach all of your destinations on foot or on a bike.
Of course, he won’t be around much, so he’ll keep a feather on you to keep track of your activity and wellbeing.
You’re about to say “screw this” and hail a cab during a tiring walk, only for the feather to suddenly come to life and attack you. The driver watches you squeal while the tiny flying object assaults your ribs and shoves you away from the car. He just shrugs and moves on to find a customer that isn’t dealing with...whatever’s happening to you.
Hawks: “You’ve gotta try this new food joint with me. It’s on the other side of town.”
You: “Sounds nice, just pick me up an-”
Hawks: “Nope.”
While you’re fuming and your stomach growls, Hawks discovers that it’s pretty nice to slow down and just walk with you.
He doesn’t expect you to make the whole journey. Once you’ve exhausted yourself and worked up an appetite, he’ll scoop you up in his arms. Feels like he hasn’t done that in forever!
Taishiro Toyomitsu
Tumblr media
Taishiro will be there to keep an eye on your diet as well as your fitness.
As a guy who’s always fattening himself up, he knows which foods cause the most weight gain and health issues.
Now Tai doesn’t believe in eating meals so light that you’re practically starving yourself. “That’s just gonna make ya crave the bad stuff even more!”
He’ll make sure you’re burning those delicious calories and carbs instead of sitting around and letting it all turn into fat.
Sure, his quirk sounds great right about now, but at least you’re not always hungry like him. That’s not easy on the wallet!
He can recommend a lot of places for healthier eating. You’ll even get plenty of discounts thanks to his reputation among restaurants. “Just tell them Fatgum sent you!”
He personally prefers weight training, but you’re always welcome to try something less strenuous around him.
Hey look, Kirishima and Amajiki are here too!
You: Doesn’t Amajiki eat a wide variety of stuff? What keeps him thin?
Fatgum: Stress.
Kirishima: Stress.
Amajiki: A lot of stress.
Tomura Shigaraki
Tumblr media
Shiggy doesn’t care.
Or at least, he didn’t. Until he watched you play an active video game and you said that your arms were tired. It hasn’t even been thirty minutes.
Fuck that. If you’re gonna have the audacity to ask him to stop his rpg grinding so that you can play Wii Sports together, at least last long enough for him to enjoy himself. Didn’t mean to make that last part sound suggestive.
“For god’s sake. Do some arm rolls or something.”
Besides, exercise sharpens your brain to perform better during gaming. He always feels ready to face the hardest boss after killing people. Murder really gets the blood pumping.
He tosses you an old dance mat so that you can get your DDR on.
Once your stamina and strength is maxed out, he makes you play with him again. And look at that, your mind is clear enough to properly strategize now!
Shigaraki: Not bad.
You: Thanks. So...can we play bowling now?”
Shigaraki: “......Fine.”

HASO, “Traitor.”
Going to be working on this one for a while. Hope you guys enjoy the update :)
He did his best to stay calm even as he was led into another room and introduced to their drake boss. He tried to keep his expression somewhere between an easy smile and a thoughtful nod, let them think he was really considering their offer, really considering  their offer to go out and murder himself.
It was all just so unbelievable.
He couldn’t wrap his head around the idea that the chairwoman would want  him killed. He thought the two of them were long time allies. He thought she had been the one, along with Admiral Kelly, to support his rise to the rank of captain when all of this began. What had happened between now and then to necessitate her desire to kill him.
He had to admit that he was both hurt and concerned for himself.
His brother Thomas was out there posing as him while the universe's most powerful politician plotted to end his life. She had the strength of the entire GA Armada behind her. He doubted all the ships would attack the omen if she asked, but at least some of them would, and without him there to maneuver the ship…. He worried that they wouldn’t last through a fight.
His stomach churned as the two pirate  women spoke among each other trying to make him believe a lie. His stomach tied itself into another knot. He was surrounded by an entire galaxy of people who wanted to kill him, and for what?
Because the human race was growing too powerful politically? And somehow he had something to do with it.
Despite suddenly being thrown into politics at a young age, he knew that he didn’t understand them. He was a pilot and a soldier first and foremost, and he found that being a politician required lying to people and in ways that he just wasn’t capable of. He knew he was in a vulnerable position.
The two women finished their little speeches, satisfied that they had followed him, and he nodded to them as he was led back out into the hall. Cannon walked behind him the entire time spear held at the ready, ready to cut down anyone who tried anything. He had no doubt that they would be able to handle Beatrice and Geea. The Drev was no great shakes as a warrior and Beatrice behaved more like a  crack addict with a knife than she did a fighter. Between him and Cannon they could take the two of them out.
In fact, Adam could probably take both of them at once if he had to, though he didn’t relish the idea.
He had a feeling that the two of them were being used just as anyone else might be. They weren’t working for themselves but being manipulated by a system that didn’t want to get in trouble itself.
The two of them were just patsies.
They led him out of the room and back into the main thoroughfare of the pirate waystation. Where once he had been excited to view all of the cool and illegal technology, he now felt sick to his stomach. Neon lights flashed above him under colorful ad campaigns for new jetpacks and all he could think of was the betrayal.
He needed to talk to someone. Immediately.
“I must return to my ship to make preparations.”
“We will come with you.”
He shook his head, “No, I need you to make sure that the rest of my men are getting along in the equipment they find. If they don’t get what we need then the mission is a bust, so you better make sure things go smoothly.
He didn’t wait for them to respond, but turned on his heel and made his way back towards the ship, his boots clattering on the metal flooring.
Beatrice said something rude behind him, but he ignored her for the most part.
He didn’t care about her at this point, she was simply a pawn in a larger game.
And while they were pawns….. Well that would have to make him a King, which honestly wasn’t much better than a pawn.
He was a target for an assassination, and the entire board felt like it was moving around them, and the opposing queen had him in her sights.
He was going to have to change that.
He stepped into the tube leading him into his “fake” pirate ship.
It had been a lot of fun pretending to be a pirate over the past few months or so, allowing words of his deeds to spread in just the right circles, and crafting elaborate stories of daring encounters with UNSC cargo ships who were willing to help him with his plan. For the most part it had all gone off without a hitch, and he had been able to live out every child’s fantasy of becoming a pirate.
But now, now the jig was up and the fun was over. He was going to have to figure out something in the next few hours.
He stepped onto the ship and headed towards his rooms, shutting the door behind himself before setting up a secure transmission to the Omen. The line that he sent the transmission out on was disguised as some sort of manifest request to an orbiting ship above. No one would find anything interesting about it, though the signal would be intercepted by the Omen and opened on another secure channel, which generally tended to be used to monitor cosmic feedback.
He waited there for a moment as the device rang a few times, and then the screen sputtered to life.
The picture wasn’t the greatest quality, but they had made sure to do that over the past few days to hide any of the small quirks about Thomas that would have made him easy to identify as an imposter.
“Cargo?”
The word was a pre made code word asking if it was safe to speak out of character.
Thomas would respond with either, “Goods, or weapons.” The first meaning go and the second meaning stop.
“Goods.”
The image before him cleared up, and his brother's face peered back at him from the camera. He had to admit, they had done a good job in making him look Like Adam. He had tousled blond hair and eyepatch and likely makeup to adjust the structure of his face. All in all, it was pretty impressive, but being Adam and Thomas being his brother he could definitely tell. Thomas was shorter and a bit thinner than he was, though he had filled out since joining the marines, and his hair was a shade or two off from Adam’s.
“You good?” Thomas asked, flipping up the eye patch to show his real eye.
Adam sighed, and rested his elbows on the table before him, “There has been a….. A massive compilation, and I’m not sure what to do.”
Lord Avex still sat on his shoulder, and had been surprisingly quiet since the revelation about the chairwoman.
“Are Sunny Krill and the others there, I need to talk to them.”
Thomas nodded and shuffled on the other side of the camera for a minute before returning.
“How about physically. Haven't had the shit kicked out of you, have you?”
Adam shook his head, “No, no I’m alright, Just mentally reeling at this point.”
He rubbed his temples trying to stave off the headache he could feel coming on.
There was a soft thud and hiss, and the door behind Thomas opened.
Sunny stepped into the room and hurried over to the monitor resting her hand on the back of the chair Thomas sat in, “Adam, are you alright!” The worry in her voice was palpable. She had wanted to come along on the mission with him, but he had reasoned that she was  too recognizable. Even if they had changed her colors it would have been far too easy to  identify her. She hadn’t like that, but had still agreed to stay behind.
“I’m alright, physically anyway, and so are the others.”
“You’ve figured out who their leader is.”
Adam went quiet, and by the looks he was receiving, he knew that they could sense the tension in his face, “Wait till the others get here.”
Just when he said it, the door hissed open again and Simon, Dr. Katie and Krill walked into hte room.
Dr Krill inflated his helium sack and floated into the air, looking him over with a critical eye for a long moment, “You don’t seem injured, so that is a good sign.”
Adam sighed and shook his head, “I wish that were the case.”
“I don’t understand.”
“I mean I would rather be beaten up than dealing with the real problem at this point.” He rested his head against his hands and squeezed his eyes shut.
“Look, this is going to sound absolutely insane, so I will just go ahead and send you the recording.”
He reached into his pocket and pulled out the recording device he had taken with him dropping it into the little well on the communications array. There was a soft whirr and it slowly levitated upward and began to spin. The video was played back for the others to see, and they watched in silence ad growing horror as the Chairwoman of the GA plotted his death.
When the recording cut off, the group of them stared at him with wide eyes.
Sunny shook her head, “This makes no sense.”
“Why would she…..”
Adam shook his head, “I don’t know…. I thought we were on good terms, but it seems as if that is no longer the case. THe GA is against us, or at least the head of the GA is. I don’t know who is loyal to us, and I certainly don’t know who to trust.”
It was then that lord Avex piped up hopping down from Adam’s shoulder, “The Celzex will always be on your side, Admiral. That is why I came on this mission, that is why your ship is the only one equipped with our weaponry.” he stamped one of his feet, “We will wipe her and her puny planet off the map.”
Adam raised a hand, “Woah…. woah , I don’t know about that. We have to do this carefully. I doubt she is acting with the entire interest of her species in mind, but more likely a small group of people. If we are going to deal with her we will want to confront her quietly where no one else is going to get hurt.
Lord Avex didn’t seem particularly pleased about that turn of events, but he kept quiet and allowed Adam to continue.
“We need to expose her publicly is what we need.”
Sunny shook her head, “And how do you plan to do that. There is already the problem of you having to assassinate yourself, which really isn’t going to do us well at this moment in time.”
He shook his head, “IT will be easy to take care of the pirates, they aren't all that smart and taking them out won’t be difficult. Just let them board the ship and then we can deal with them from there. After that is what I am worried about. We need her to show her hand, and we need to gather plenty of evidence. What I have right now is good, but if we can find something better, then that will ease my mind.”
He stood and paced back and forth slightly across the room, “We need…. We need to open me up to them. We need to make it look like I am vulnerable, we need to give them a chance to carry everything out, make it look like I am an easy target. Let thor guard down, and then when they come for me, we close around them like a bear trap and they will be none the weiser.” He tapped his fingers against the table, “You can’t help but leave some kind of digital trail in a time like this, it is completely impossible, if we have one end of her plot in a public setting, than we can unravel it right before her eyes and there will be nothing she can do about it.”
Krill, who had been mostly quiet for this time shook his head, “It seems strange that she would involve herself so closely. Using a proxy to do all the work for her would at least give her plausible deniability, why would she do it herself ?”
It was Thomas’s turn to pipe in, “Seems easy enough. She’s the only one she can trust. If what you say is true than I doubt she is going along with the interests of her own people. If she involves someone else than it is going to get messy for her especially if she doesn’t know where their loyalties really lie. She would have to make the decision to deal with it herself and ricks being caught, or risk being outed by the people that she trusted, and seeing that most of the Rundi are politicians at heart, it wouldn’t surprise me that she wouldn’t trust anyone ther than herself.” he waved a hand in the air, “They are grabbing for power just like she is, and they might see this as an opportunity to undermine her and set themselves up to become the new chancellor.”
He nodded slowly, that did make some measure of sense.
But how to pull hair out of hiding.
One thing at a time he supposed.
Outside he heard the sound of footsteps coming up the hall, and he turned to look at them making a quick hand signal, and the feed was cut off. He leaned back in his chair just as there was a knock at the door.
“Come in!” He ordered, and the door opened up to reveal cannon trailed by Beatrice and Geea.
He growled internally
They continued to get in his way and were becoming  a real annoyance for his plan.
He was gong to have to deal with them soon.
“Ah, ladies, you’re back. Were we able to find all of our supplies.
Geea stepped forward, “I believe we have, now you better get to work quickly, my employer grows impatient with your stalling”
I bet she does, he thought standing and smiling to conceal the rage that was festering inside him. He walked over and patted the Drev on the arm, “Don’t worry, by this time tomorrow you will be all sorted out, and all of us can go happily on our merry way.”
He slipped past her and walked into the hall chin down eyes narrowed,  hands balled into fists slightly at his sides.
By this time tomorrow they could begin dealing with the traitors, whoever they may be.

Rogue Thoughts (Spencer Reid x FBI Agent!Reader)
Summary: Soulmates can occasionally hear each other’s thoughts. You happen to hear the thoughts of a fellow FBI Agent while you’re interviewing for a position at the BAU.
Check out the series
Warnings: Some language, but it’s just fluff
Notes: SOULMATE AU MOTHER HECKERS
Word Count: 2k
Masterlist
After nearly 30 years of listening to your soulmate’s thoughts, nothing could surprise you at this point. While most of your friends or family heard relatively normal things from their soulmates before they met, your head consisted of random facts about anything from mental illnesses you’d never heard of to Greek philosophy. Once, you had what you learned to be some of Friedmann’s equations stuck in your head for a week. Despite how little you cared for mathematics, your curiosity had given in eventually and you ended up googling it after 3 days. Whoever your soulmate is, he’s an absolute genius.
Sometimes the thought of just how smart your soulmate is feels a little daunting; You’re not dumb, you have a master’s degree in Criminology and worked for the FBI, but you couldn’t help but wonder if your soulmate would be disappointed when the two of you finally meet. There’s no way of telling which of your thoughts your soulmate had heard from you over the years; maybe he learned about your study of criminals or some of the bad guys you’d managed to catch over the years...or maybe he learned about how you have almost every episode of Friends memorized. Recently, the thoughts you heard have become more frequent. Back when you were a kid, the thoughts you heard could be weeks or even months apart, but as you got older, you heard his thoughts more and more often. Your mom had said that must mean you’re going to meet your soulmate pretty soon; the same thing had happened with her and your father.
“17 interviews and we still don’t have a replacement…”
The thought entered your head for a moment, but flickered away before it completed. “Don’t distract me today, soulmate. I’ve got a job interview.” You thought. Even though you don’t have any control over which thoughts he would hear, you hoped he had gotten your message. You currently worked in Crimes Against Children with the FBI, but after 4 years excelling in that area, one of the higher-ups, Strauss, had suggested applying for the renowned Behavioral Analysis Unit. You had become a profiler of sorts within CAC; when you were in college you had attended multiple lectures on the subject matter. Even though you weren’t officially trained, your bosses all agreed that you had the potential. Plus, the BAU had been down an agent for a while, so today you were meeting with SSA Hotchner.
When you arrived at the FBI headquarters today, instead of heading to your usual building, you went to the building where the BAU was held. Your nerves were getting the best of you as the elevator slowly made its way to the 6th floor, and to make matters worse, your soulmate’s thoughts were flying through your head at an astronomical rate. “I should book a flight to visit mom soon…” “Maybe we’ll finally get a new agent today....” “if Morgan tries to make me do his paperwork one more time…” Clearly, he hadn’t heard your plea to try and keep it down today. Or, he has just about as much control over which thoughts you heard as you did with his. Despite the foreign thoughts filling your head, you tried your best to stay focused as you exited the elevator and made your way towards Hotchner’s office.
As you walked through the room, your eyes were pulled from your destination to the various people sitting at the desks. Or, more specifically, to a certain guy filling out paperwork diligently. “Holy fuck, he’s cute.” You thought. Almost immediately, his head snapped up towards you. “Did he…?” “Wow.” You both thought at the same time. This time, you stopped walking, and he pushed away from his desk to get a better look at you. Your interview had almost completely slipped your mind until you heard someone call your name.
“SSA Y/L/N?” You turned away from the guy, who you were now incredibly intrigued by, to the man you recognized as Aaron Hotchner.
“SSA Hotchner, it’s good to see you again.” You said, giving him a wave. You weren’t a fan of shaking hands, although you were nervous your avoidance of the motion would come off unprofessional. Luckily, Hotchner didn’t seem to mind.
“Please, call me Hotch. My office is just this way, if you’d like to follow me.” Hotch led you to his office, where you took a seat in the chair across from his desk. Luckily, the thoughts from your soulmate - who may or may not be sitting right outside this office - had calmed down, so you had a clear head for your interview.
~~~
“Garcia!” Spencer burst into Garcia’s batcave, shocking the girl. Morgan stood next to her, looking at Spencer like he was insane.
“What’s wrong, pretty boy?”
“I need to know the name of the agent Hotch is interviewing right now.”
“Ok, you could’ve just asked like a normal person instead of giving me a heart attack!” Garcia grumbles, sitting in front of her computer to pull up the information. “Do I at least get a reason as to why you need to know about,” She paused, reading the name that had popped up on her screen, “SSA Y/N Y/L/N?” Spencer leaned down next to Garcia, so he could see the picture of you on the screen.
“Y/N Y/L/N…” The name felt perfect coming from his lips. It was like he never wanted to say another name again
“Reid? Seriously, what's up with this girl? Do you think she’s bad news?” Morgan asked, clearly concerned about Spencer’s actions
“N-no, I, um, I think she’s my soulmate.” Spencer whispered, not really registering what he had said until Garcia’s excited squeals finally tore his eyes away from the computer screen
“Oh my god this is the best thing that’s ever happened! Are you sure? Oh my god I need to do more research! No wait - if you think she’s your soulmate what are you doing in here with us! You need to be with her and fall in love and get married and name your first born after me like yesterday!” Garcia began rambling, grabbing Spencer’s hand and practically dragging him out of her office and back towards the bullpen. She continued talking as they walked over, while Morgan trailed behind with a wide smile on his face.
Prentiss and JJ had been chatting at their desks when Garcia dragged Spencer in. “Code Red, ladies! Spencer Reid met his soulmate and she’s with Hotch right now!” Garcia announced, finally letting go of Spencer’s arm.
“Holy shit!”
“Oh my god, Spence!”
Emily and JJ both gave Spencer a hug, while a blush rose to his cheeks. “I-I don’t know for sure yet. I just, it was like something was pulling me to her. And this time when I heard her thoughts it just felt so…” Spencer was at a loss for words, which was very rare for him. He couldn’t describe this brand new experience.
“Like everything suddenly made sense?” JJ suggested, as the only one in the group who actually knew what the experience of meeting your soulmate was like.
“Yeah.” Spencer nervously began to play with his hands, turning to look at the door. Through the blinds of Hotch’s office, he could just make out where she was sitting. “Good luck.” He tried to send her the thought, knowing that if they really were soulmates, he should have more control over which thoughts she would hear or not. He may have been imagining it, but he swore she saw her figure get less tense through the blinds.
~~~
“Well, Agent Y/L/N, you’re certainly one of the best candidate’s I’ve interviewed so far. I know you still have an active case to finish with CAC, but once that’s resolved we’d love to have you transfer over here to the BAU.” Hotch said with a small smile.
“Thank you so much, Hotch! My current case is almost wrapped up, so I should be able to officially transfer within the next week or so.” You said with a smile. The both of you stood from your chairs, and Hotch opened his office door for you. Immediately, your eyes found the man again, and you found he was already looking at you.
“Did you want to meet the rest of the team? Clearly, they’ve all decided it’s social hour anyways.” Hotch suggested, clearly not too pleased with the group that was very clearly not doing any work at the moment. He had mentioned that the team didn’t have a case right now, but you were sure there was still plenty of paperwork to get though.
“Yes! Please.” You said, maybe a little too enthusiastically. Even though you did want to be on good terms with the whole team, right now the only person you cared about was the man in the cardigan.
“Guys, this is SSA Y/N Y/L/N, she’ll be joining us here at the BAU soon. Y/L/N, this is SSAs Derek Morgan, Emily Prentiss, Jennifer Jareau, and Dr. Spencer Reid. Penelope Garcia is our technical analyst, and SSA David Rossi should be around here somewhere-”
Hotch was practically cut off by Penelope, who immediately pulled you in for a hug. You did your best to hide your discomfort, but you had always been a bit of a germaphobe.“Oh my God it’s so lovely to meet you, we’re all so excited for you to join our little family…” Penelope began to ramble as she pulled away from the hug, which you found endearing.
“Is she like this all the time?” You thought.
“Yes. You’ll get used to it.” Your eyes immediately move to Spencer’s. Dr. Spencer Reid.
“I’m sure I will. Don’t know if I’ll get used to talking in our minds though.” You think. You were completely tuned out of the conversation the other Agents had started, now focusing only on Spencer.
“Well, studies show that transitioning to life with a soulmate can be jarring, but not because of discomfort of hearing thoughts. It usually takes couples a long time to learn how to turn it off, which can result in soulmates getting to know each other’s secrets rather quickly. That’s why nearly 38% of soulmates will break up within a few months of starting a relationship, although it should be noted that 87% of those that break up will end up getting back together at some point in their lives.” Spencer’s thoughts began racing, and you suddenly understood all the random facts you had learned from him over the course of your life. As he told you the facts and figures of soulmates breaking up - not the best subject for a pair of soulmates that just met, but you didn’t mind - you noticed that the rest of the team had stopped talking and were now just watching you and Spencer converse in your heads.
“That probably explains why we’re talking with our thoughts instead of out loud. And why your team is staring.” Spencer’s cheeks reddened when he looked away from you and realized you were right.
“Honestly, I forgot they were there. Which is rare for me, I have an eidetic memory.” You laughed aloud at his remark, earning more confused looks from everyone else.
“Sorry, guys, I guess we got a little...distracted.” You spoke aloud for the first time in a few minutes. Spencer moved closer to you, his hand itching to take yours.
“Oh, please, don’t apologize, I was the same way with Will after we met. I know how overwhelming it can be at first.” Jennifer waved off your worries, and extended a hand towards you, “You can call me JJ, by the way.”
“Oh, um, I don’t really shake hands, I’m a bit of a germaphobe.” You worried once again about coming off as rude, but this remark only made JJ, and the rest of the team laugh.
“Wow, you two really are soulmates, aren’t you.” Derek remarked, swinging his arm over Penelope’s shoulder as he spoke.
“I’m the same way.” Spencer explained to you, “It’s actually safer to kiss.”
“I’m sure we’ll put that to the test when we’re alone.” You didn’t think it was possible, but Spencer’s face became even more red after your thought entered his own head.
