okay I've got a theory/ramble about why Aaron and Andrew's deal fell apart so much, and it's because the level of protection they were thinking about was so very different. Andrew was basically the only thing standing in between Kevin and the fucking mafia, and at no point is it implied that this was a lot to ask of him. Andrew came into this fully prepared to fight anyone with any amount of power to keep his end of the deal. Aaron most likely thought he was going to get help against Highschool bullies and being picked on. He did not expect to have to go to the ends of the earth for this

“I don’t know that I understand them, I read them as poetry.”
Goddamn, I love book Elphaba so much. It’s been fifteen years since I first read this book, and the Emerald City chapters are still everything to me.

I've seen a lot of people don't like "franmaya sets up narumitsu" so I raise you
franmaya sets up faraskye, then faraskye sets up narumitsu
or alternatively, for maximum chaos, WHILE. But then the head chef at the fancy restaurant gets murdered and they have to investigate together while not giving away the plan. "It was all a set-up!" gets said twice in very different contexts

Sometimes I gotta wonder what Wildberry was up to during Pitaya’s reign on the throne.
Like, *apparently* they hadn’t met before which doesn’t make an ounce of sense considering Wildberry had been raised by Hollyberry since he was a child and as such had to have lived at the palace through her absence (no matter how long that was, god CRK continuity is such a mess). Considering Wildberry is both a bodyguard and a servant and would presumably serve Pitaya during their reign it just has me conjure up the image of Wildberry trying to get away with a murder plot starting with something discreet like poisoning Pitaya’s drink or something before snowballing into almost Looney Toons-esc hijinks where Pitaya always comes out the other side oblivious and unscathed and Wildberry’s just left there thinking WHY WON’T THIS TYRANNICAL LIZARD FUCK DIE ALREADY

Imagine Rudolph getting angry and protective when detective Poirot thinks you're the killer
Despite your best efforts to appear undeterred by the interrogation, the look that detective Poirot was giving you all almost made you want to cower. It was like he could see through you and it frightened you despite the fact that your two partners were beside you giving you support. You didn’t regret what you did to Cassetti and you knew that Rudolph nor the other passengers did either. What he did had a ripple effect that affected each of you and your lives would never be the same because of it. For him to continue and elude justice all these years was too much which was all why you had all instantly agreed when Ms. Arden had contacted you about her plan.
But now came the hard part: trying to not get caught. It would have been simple enough - all of you had good alibis and most detectives wouldn't have given the case a second glance after coming to the conclusion that Ratchett's enemies had boarded the train and killed him before taking off at the stop. But now things had become much harder with the world-renowned Poirot on the case.
You and Helena had been behind the compartment's curtain as Rudolph had insisted on talking to Poirot on all your behalf. But that didn't last long as your partner slammed his fist onto the table when the detective made the comment that he would note Rudolph's hesitance in letting Poirot talk to the both of you to the police. Jumping up from the bed, Helena threw open the curtain as she pressed a kiss to Rudolph's back and rubbed her hands on his upper arms in an effort to calm him.
Right behind her, you stood at his side and held in hand in your own as he rubbed the back of your hand with his thumb to comfort you. There was no doubt in your mind that he knew how nervous you were now that you stood before the detective.
"What about you, madam?" Poirot turned to you after his conversation with Helena had finished. It took all your might to not tense up as his attention focused on you. Motioning to your outfit, he asked: "Is that your only dressing gown?"
You shook your head. "I have another one in my luggage."
"And what material is it made of?"
"Silk."
"Do you often wear silk?"
When you nodded, he stood up straighter as a gleam appeared in his eyes. "And what were you doing on the afternoon of Ratchett's murder? I did not see you in any of the cars the whole time before the incident."
"I stayed in my compartment. The movement of trains made me ill so I stayed in bed. I don't usually get better until the second day on board when I have become used to its movements."
"So no one sees you yesterday and the night of Ratchett's murder, I see a woman in a silk dressing gown run down the corridor along with your alibi only being able to be supported by your partners."
At the accusation being thrown your way, not even Helena could calm Rudolph down or stop him as he slips from her hold with a yell and races over to the two of you. Pushing you behind him, he points a finger at Poirot and herds him toward the door. "I will not sit here and let you toss out baseless accusations toward my partner. We called for some soup to be made for [Name] and it arrived at one. You can check with the kitchen staff but do not say that either of my partners are murderers."

Okay So
Akechi's introduced "Amamiya Ren" to Shido as a partner to induce breakdowns/shutdowns and he's proven his worth. But if the famous detective Akechi is going to be spending a lot of time in public with some other random kid, they're going to need a public cover story so people don't get suspicious. So the Conspiracy concocts an identity for Amamiya Ren as Akechi's quiet but genius assistant detective. The backstory is basically some made up bullshit where Amamiya showed up to a crime scene and impressed the police force and Akechi by outsmarting even the detective prince and solving the case, and now the two are something of rival-partners.
"Amamiya" goes on TV with Akechi and the two have friendly but fiercely competitive banter on the shows. Amamiya is a lot quieter than Akechi on these appearances, but there's this fierceness about him that makes it clear he takes their rivalry seriously and has no intentions of letting Akechi's bright personality outshine him. Amamiya quickly becomes a fan favorite and people start fighting over which of the junior detectives is the best/smartest, and the fans split into factions over who's their favorite. Akechi has normal feelings about splitting his fans into teams--in fact, both Akira and Akechi are extremely normal about the competitive nature of their fans and don't let it influence their personal lives whatsoever (lying).
(Also, cue all the secret gay lover rumors, which are 100% true ofc.)
On 6/10, the Shujin Thieves go to the TV station like in canon, only this time they watch their former (he transferred to Akechi's school soon after joining the Conspiracy, using the Amamiya name and forged documents Akechi managed to get somehow or another, I dunno don't think about it too hard he has supernatural powers and powerful connections, he probably blackmailed it out of someone) classmate get up on stage using a name they don't recognize along with the detective prince. This time Ryuji is the one who is asked on live television what he thinks of the Phantom Thieves, and he is about as subtle about his opinions as you can expect from him.
After the show ends, Akira corners Ryuji and takes him aside, where he tells him he's a fucking idiot and to stop making him and his friends stand out, that he can't protect them if they're just going to give their identities away. Ryuji is scared and confused as Akira pins him up against the wall, a dangerous fury in his eyes that Ryuji has never seen in them before. Ryuji tells him that ever since he's been hanging with that Akechi guy it's like he's a totally different person and it's freaking him the hell out.
Akechi finds Akira holding Ryuji up against the wall by the collar and misinterprets the situation, thinking they're lovers. He gets extremely jealous, but hides it well, and tells Akira it's time to end whatever is going on and leave. Akira walks away with Akechi with one last whispered warning and Ryuji is left alone like. "what. the. fuck."
Ryuji tells the rest of the Thieves what happened, and they're all left very confused and concerned about their former friend, but they don't know what if anything they can do to help him.
Also: how Sojiro fits into all this. After all, he'd be pretty suspicious when the kid he's the guardian of shows up on television going by a different name. So, when they're developing this whole backstory, Akechi goes to Sojiro and presents the bullshit backstory about Akira impressing him and says he wants to make him his assistant, but that he'll be transferring schools under a new identity and name that isn't weighed down by a criminal record since the police can't exactly have a criminal working on their force. Basically, Akira's set for life if he accepts this offer. He can still stay at Leblanc if Sojiro's okay with it, but Akechi can also set him up someplace else if that's more convenient. Half of this is bullshit Akechi made up and half of it are strings he's able to pull behind the scenes in the Conspiracy, though it's difficult rewriting Akira's past without letting Shido know about it. (Since they're trying to keep it a secret from him that "Amamiya" is the kid he sued for assault, since that'd be suspicious as hell later. This works about as well as Akechi keeping his true identity secret.)
Anyway, Sojiro thinks all this is suspicious as hell but at the same time he can't exactly say no when he doesn't really have the authority to do that and this is going to be good for Akira, to leave his criminal record behind him. And he's just his guardian, not his actual parent, so he couldn't really say no, and he doesn't really want to. He lets Akira continue to stay with him though, and he does at first, but eventually he moves in with Akechi completely (they are very codependent). They continue to hang around Leblanc after that since it's a cozy place. Sojiro Really doesn't like it as he watches Akira turn into a different kind of kid altogether, he's much meaner and more dismissive than before, and there's a quiet pain behind his eyes, like there's this overbearing weight resting on his shoulders, both guilt and responsibility, things that shouldn't be weighing him down. Sojiro wants to help him, but Akira keeps pushing him away and he's helpless to do much of anything once he moves out.

okay so i'm still thinking about tr!aimros from a negative light and i wanted to bring up something that was said between aimsey and ros today. (this will also probably be the last of me harping on them, atleast from a pov of tr!aimsey specifically). around the 35 minute mark of ros' stream today, ros celebrates lukey dying. aimsey proceeds to jokingly call ros terrible "You're terrible, you're terrible, you know that? You know that?" ros replies with "It's okay! I'll feel gu- terribly guilty and sad about it later." they both laugh and aimsey says "Oh you're so messed up in all the right ways." and ros replies "Oh thank you! Oh thank you!"
so this was probably a bit more of a lighthearted/joking/ooc moment however i'm going to take this as if they were more serious/in character because for me at least, this summarizes one of the biggest reasons why i personally don't like tr!aimros currently, and also i think the sentiment aimsey expressed is reflected in tr!aimros anyways, so.
aimsey accepts ros to the best of their ability, flaws, faction, and all. which is good news for someone like ros who is usually dealing with one of her 10000 issues at any given point. but that right there is what i take issue with. aimsey welcomes those flaws, and embraces them. but not in a "you may need to work on that" way, but in a "your 10000 issues are so neat! i love you" way. more power to tr!aimsey for having a "i don't want to fix you" mindset! but there is very rarely an effort on aimsey's end to confront ros' more self-destructive tendencies. there's no asking ros to stop killing herself, no questioning if ros wants to feel that horrible guilt over murdering people, and generally speaking while they listen to ros, there's little action taken outside of listening and the occasional talking back to confront ros' problems, self-destructive or otherwise. the two exceptions i can think of, is aimsey reminding ros to sleep so she'll stop getting hit by phantoms, and when aimsey encouraged ros to speak with sneeg, because ros was worried about getting in trouble for explaining her problem to aimsey.
this is in stark contrast to some of ros' other closest relationships on the server. (i dont know if pangi's ever asked ros to not kill herself but if anyone's said "ros please dont kill yourself" then they're in this group im just focusing on the povs ive seen), clown, sneeg, and i believe foolish have all asked ros to not kill herself in various contexts, and/or to take care of herself, which includes asking her to sleep! if ros were to ever express (or be able to express) some of what she has gone through and feels, such as her guilt complex around killing people, her current thoughts about her memory loss, or her feeling that she is not listened to. yes, her friends would listen. but they also wouldn't sit there giggling going "omg i love a girl with issues", they'd recognize that it's called having an issue for a reason and would want to try and work through things with ros and other involved parties if and ONLY if she's okay with it. (and let's be honest it's tr!ros, she's likely not saying no to anyone going "hey maybe you shouldnt kill yourself, thats not good and wr should work on that.") but to me that is what makes tr!aimros a unique, yet toxic relationship.
it's also what makes aimros being treated as lovey dovey and oh so silly and wholesome both by the ccs and characters so offputting? these two characters care for each other, supposedly love each other, and obsess over each other and yet they are kinda horrible for each other. (i focused on aimsey primarily but i also think there's a huge argument to be made that ros is also a not great partner, specifically in the senses that ros can be so self-sacrificing it's detrimental to herself and others but can also be horribly possessive, selfish, vindictive, and jealous, especially to her loved ones' friends (lukey and krow). but i digress). neither of them confront potential issues and instead, specifically aimsey, just sees their partner dealing with self-inflicted (to an extent) problems and goes "wow that's cute," and sweeps it under the rug for later. and while they might talk about it, they never dig to the source of the problem, and for what? for fear of change? because realizing your partner isn't perfect is hard? because your supposed romantic interest experiencing horrible guilt over her actions is adorable? (realistically it's because ros threatening to kill herself in mc isnt taken as a big issue but SOMEONE has told her not to kill herself before sooo im holding it against tr!aimsey and everyone else). i like cc!aimsey and cc!ros, and i'm not against tr!aimros as a concept. but the fucking money i'd give to either them as ccs or for someone on the realm to recognize that maybe, just maybe, aimros is kinda toxic... i'd be broke.

Okay no I've got it. I've said all along Durge and Orin's places could so easily be swapped, that the only difference was that Durge got the chance to start over fresh away from their muder cult, and that I want to be able to spare Orin, damn it. But now I've figured out how to make it work.
Durge and Orin fight in single combat at the altar of Bhaal. (Orin gets a second phase of her fight where she's herself, because she deserves a more satisfying boss fight and also to not just have Bhaal wipe her mind when you try to talk to her about her abusive backstory, jesus fucking christ that was nasty.)
Durge disarms Orin, gets her too injured to fight back, is the clear winner of this fight... and throws their weapon away, because they're not going to kill for Bhaal again. They're not going to continue the cycle of violence they and orin have been stuck in since birth.
Bhaal, of course, kills them for rejecting their birthright. And kills Orin for good measure; she failed, she's not worthy of him, this whole generation is a fuck up and he's better off starting over again elsewhere with a new generation of murder babies who'll actually be competent at this.
And as in the game, Withers comes in, resurrects Durge, tells them Bhaal could only kill the part of them that he knew, but they've changed and grown so much since the nautiloid, and Withers brought back everything that Bhaal didn't know.
Durge asks him--begs him probably, but damnit if Larian's resolving their plot with a huge deus ex machina then so can I--to bring Orin back too.
Except Orin didn't have those last few months free of Bhaal's influence. Everything she's ever done is tied up in trying to please Bhaal. When Withers brings her back, at Durge's request somewhere outside the temple, she's waking up covered in blood, nerfed back down to level one, and with no memory of anything except her name.
And the chance to start over fresh away from the murder cult. Orin can make her own decisions from there. Maybe she'll become the person she was before, maybe she'll be worse than ever, and a new party of adventurers will have to take her down to stop a new killing spree in a few years time. But maybe she'll change, and grow, the way Durge did. Maybe she'll become someone better. Whatever she does, she deserves to have a chance.
