Heyo! Back again with a new chapter! For now, the uploading schedule is every Friday unless school gets in the way (dastardly college) or if I want to post/update a different fic that week. I am thrilled so many people enjoyed the start of this fic, and I am all too excited to continue this.
Please enjoy!

Profiles in Villainy
Doctor Eggman
Ivo Robotnik, better known by the alias of ‘Doctor Eggman,’ is an evil scientist and the arch-nemesis of Sonic the Hedgehog.  A self-proclaimed genius and diabolical inventor, the doctor constantly hatches plots to establish his ‘Eggman Empire’ all across the earth and build his own utopia of ‘Eggmanland.’
It is possible that Eggman had once been a kindly scientist named Ovi Kintobor who became twisted and evil following a laboratory accident.  From there on out, he dedicated himself to use his vast intellect to fulfill his egomaniacal ideals.
Despite the villain’s brilliance, Sonic and his friends have always found means to dash Eggman’s dastardly machinations. Never discouraged by such setbacks, Eggman has returned time and again with a seemingly endless supply of wild schemes to make his dreams of world conquest become a reality.
Dr. Eggman first appeared in the 1991 video game, Sonic The Hedgehog and would later appear in the 1993 animated series of the same name.  Actors Masaharu Satō, Chikao Ōtsuka and Kotaro Nakamura have voiced the villain in the Japanese language versions; with actors Deem Bristow and Mike Pollock voicing the character in the English language versions.  Dr. Eggman’s first animated appearance was in the debut episode of the Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon airing on September 18th, 1993.

So here I am. Procrastinating. Staring at this art and unable to stop thinking thoughts.
Shadow in a dress aiming a pistol. Shadow carried bridal style by Sonic. Originally considered a Masquerade AU but the artist’s tags about Body Double AU had me reeling with its potential. Got carried away so here’s some loose brainstorming. It’s long.
Imagine an AU with mutual Sonadow and/or one-sided Mephonic where:
Mephiles from ’06 game is the prince and prolly brother to crown princess Elise of Soleanna Kingdom. Referencing that re-color of a character design joke bc it has potential if his ‘crystalline’ final form is used instead of the re-skin.
Rest under the Read More.
Maybe Mephiles was adopted or maybe he was also the result of science experiments like Shadow. Except instead of mixed hedgehog-alien DNA it’s similar to that ‘messed with their sun god Solaris’ concept resulting in his creation.
Could even have similar backstory of ‘experiment found a sister in his creator’s daughter’ for fun. Sonic would delight in annoying Shadow with all those fun facts.
Mephiles’ crystalline form: Coarse black-purple fur, jagged white-tipped quills, notched ears, clawed hands with no gloves. White muzzle with fur so fluffy it looks like he has no mouth…
Bonus points if the pink sclera switches btwn white and pink depending on if he’s using his purple-pink powers or not. Green reptilian irises could be considered unsettling on his non-reptilian face.
Extra bonus points if lack of gloves are seen as scandalous by other mobians. Soleanna is a human-majority kingdom so Mephiles wouldn’t understand the culture-shock Team Dark and co would experience. But Sonic could blush, politely avert his eyes, and wonder what Shadow’s bare hands look like.
Mephiles’ powers could be liquified chaos energy and his body crystallized chaos. Could melt or solidify btwn liquid and solid states at will.
Either way his general shape is still similar to Shadow from far. FAR away. To humans anyway. Could act as a joke: ‘species blindness’ where humans struggle to notice differences btwn mobians bc ‘they all look the same’
Extra bonus points if mobians feel the same way about humans. The reason Eggman is so distinctive is bc he’s ‘notably egg-shaped’ Or something silly.
ANYWAY. All that is to establish Mephiles as his own person distinctly separate from Shadow. A person who happens to be a prince and the latest target in an assassination and/or kidnapping attempt ordered by humans from a rival kingdom.
Maybe by G.U.N itself? Or a traitor within G.U.N’s ranks? Could work as juicy inner conflict for Shadow if he also works for G.U.N. Their government would be a structured way for him to ‘help the world be a better place’ while also keeping a close eye on them should they try to massacre innocents like they did decades ago on the ARK.
Thus the reveal of G.U.N trying to secure more ‘weaponry’ by kidnapping ‘a rogue, dangerous experiment’ a.k.a Prince Mephiles could put him at odds with them. Having to decide whether the entire organization needs to be destroyed and built anew. Or to root out out any parasites to prevent the dastardly infection from growing.
Someway, somehow, Shadow hears something about some prince from somewhere who looks remarkably like him and might be in danger. Maybe his teammate Rouge informs him because she’s a nosy spy and has been smelling somethin’ rotten brewing in their G.U.N ranks?
Or maybe their boss is unaware of those treasonous plans and sends Team Dark on a mission: Go Undercover and Protect Prince Mephiles of Soleanna Kingdom.
Shadow begrudgingly agrees to act as the body double to the prince.
He doesn’t think they look similar at all but then the first time he had truly interacted with people outside of the ARK they had all mistaken him for his rival. His rival who is bright blue. A lovely shade of blue, yes, but blue all the same. Sometimes he wonders if the mix-up was deliberate.
Regardless, he accepts the task and learns the role. Supposed similar appearances or not, his behavior and knowledge had to mimic the prince well enough to be passable.
Still. He doesn’t understand why he can wear clothing like a dress but not clothing like gloves. It is so… immodest. Ugh. Prince Mephiles may have been raised by humans but so had Shadow and he at least understood common decency!
It doesn’t help that Sonic of all people shows up.
Ok. So. Not sure what would be more fun:
1] Established Sonadow relationship:
Sonic and Shadow are a couple but the public doesn’t know that because it’s their private lives and they’d like to keep it that way. But then when Shadow has to pretend to be the royal prince of a famous kingdom and Sonic comes swinging by to visit, he naturally flirts with his boyfriend whenever they think they’re alone because it’s probably been awhile and undercover missions take time.
So Shadow’s firmly cemented as Prince Mephiles while the real prince is away at a vacation home or something and Sonic is all up in Shadow’s business. Maybe they’re fight-flirting and taking turns pinning the other against the wall of the empty hallway when one of them knocks over something that makes a soft thud and of course someone goes to investigate.
They’re accidentally spotted while swappin’ spit, maybe someone even scored a sneaky photo of them but only got Shadow’s back and Sonic’s front, and the crowd goes wild! Social media, news outlets, tabloids. Anyone and everyone everywhere starts talking about how the Hero of Mobius (“Hero of Earth” some commenters, presumably human, would argue. A never-ending debate btwn the two species) and Prince Mephiles are not only dating but are undoubtably soon to be engaged!
Sonic shrugs it off. “That's gossip rags for ya. So long as we know it’s not true then what’s the big deal? We could say it’s our big couple reveal if we wanna!”
Shadow and everyone else who’s ever had a life outside running around wherever and whenever they wanted and leaving anarchy in their wake, do not shrug it off.
Basically playing with social consequences of someone as famous as Sonic and someone as high ranking/politically influential as a royal prince (even one not immediate heir to the throne) being mistaken for a couple by the masses.
Sonic would not immediately realize this means civilians AND villains would not only assume Prince Mephiles has emotional significance to him, but would target both of them in diff ways.
The prince’s personal council would see Sonic as a pawn to use in their political games. Get him to marry their prince and that would boost their own power/influence alongside their kingdom. Lots to gain. Like control over others.
Political allies would the see the same. Could either turn them into enemies of Soleanna due to seeing the courtship as a threat to their own power. Soleanna gaining more power would cause a power imbalance amongst their circle of allies and thus threaten that circle’s status quo.
Or the allies could see a way of keeping status quo and/or gaining power by making a point to ‘aide their ally in this endeavor.’ Take credit for getting the two together. Legally binding contracts or whatever.
Enemies or rivals to Soleanna would see the courtship as a threat and would make plans to cripple Soleanna’s budding power. Maybe team up with Soleanna’s resentful and/or nervous political allies to either stop the courtship through legal means. Or through underhanded means like threats of assassination.
Coincidentally, this sudden surge of conflict amongst the collection of kingdoms would really help whoever was targeting Prince Mephiles in the 1st place and the reason why Shadow had to act as a body double at all. They’d absolutely take advantage of the chaos to plan an attack.
Villains like Eggman would see this as a chance to attack Sonic on a personal level. Target the prince and they’ll be getting the upper hand over Sonic emotionally. Supposedly.
Who the heck knows where or what Prince Mephiles is doing. Maybe he returns to the kingdom to try and turn the false courtship into the real one because he sees the value in securing Sonic as a legal partner on a political level. He likes power.
Though it’d be hilarious if he actually develops a crush on Sonic because “What an adorable spitfire. He’ll be a delight to crush beneath my heel.”
Sonic doesn’t realize all this could also affect his boyfriend Shadow.
Legally, Shadow would have to “clean up this mess we've made, Sonic” by awkwardly clarifying to his G.U.N superiors that yes, he is in a romantic relationship with Sonic the Hedgehog and that, no, he had not intended for his personal life to affect his work life especially not while undercover as Prince Mephiles in the Kingdom of Soleanna but that, yes, he would work non-stop to fix this national nightmare they’ve created.
So he’s running around trying to sort this out and stop world leaders from trying to poach his boyfriend while also figuring out how to stop the masses from fueling the fire because “How many copies of this one photo can possibly exist, Omega?”
Emotionally, Shadow is upset that his private life has not only been blasted all over the place but that everyone got his identity wrong. So if he wants to kiss his boyfriend outside of this ridiculous charade then their reputations will be smeared.
Sonic doesn’t care about reputations. But Shadow does. Cue conflict of personal values and the diff btwn ‘stability and right to privacy’ vs ‘freedom and public figures as public property’
If Shadow’s seen as a scandalous, shallow harlot who’s trying seduce the planet’s beloved ‘can-do-no-wrong’ hero away from ‘top-of-the-food-chain’ royal prince then how could he be taken seriously ever again? He has a job to do and no one in a position of power will listen to ‘arm candy!’
Shadow grumbles to himself as his partner oozes his way across his shoulders and down toward the desk where the paperwork he’s working on sits. “You’ve made my job tremendously harder.”
“Sorry.” Sonic cringes where he slumps half-folded like a prickly scarf. The weight of his warmth is nice. “In my defense, neither of us saw this coming. We were careful. Kinda.”
“Clearly not careful enough.”
...
2] Not established Sonadow. Mutual pining but presumed unrequited. One-sided Mephonic.
Could play with Prince Mephiles still living in palace instead of going to a vacation home for whatever reason. Maybe during timeframe of him teaching Shadow the role and having Shadow shadow him to learn subtle nuances like Mephiles’ body language that he himself isn’t aware of? Dunno.
Either way Prince Mephiles sees a cute piece tagging along and flirts with Sonic.
Sonic is very much not into it.
He’s not into it right up until he sees Shadow clenching his jaw in the background and is absolutely delighted by this fact. Perhaps Shadow feels something for him after all? Or maybe he’s just mad Sonic is interfering with his job. Could never tell with him sometimes. Could be both. Hopefully both.
Sonic would very much like his friend to reciprocate his feelings. But since he’s an emotionally constipated idiot with a death wish, Sonic decides to mess with Shadow and see what happens.
Why be direct and honest and painfully vulnerable with such things like feelings when he could just. Not. It’s gotten him this far and it’s worked just fine, after all! Why fix what ain’t broke?
Cue Sonic flirting with the prince. Always watching for Shadow’s reactions instead of Mephiles’.
Checks to see if he ever looks jelly or interested in any way. Maybe Shadow will finally make a move or do something that makes it clear that he wants Sonic to be his romantic partner instead of just an occasional teammate or rival. Something. Anything. Shadow is so chaos-damned hard to read but maybe being in close quarters and flirting up a storm with someone else while he’s standing right there will help Sonic read him better.
This will not end well for anyone. Feelings will definitely be hurt. On all sides. Consequences will ensue.
A prince with too much power will not allow such insult to slide.
Cue Prince Mephiles deciding to retaliate against Sonic because “How dare you play a game only I may play? You are not a player in this game of life and so you shall bow down to me. Your king.”
Or something equally demented where he tries to box Sonic into something bad. Like agreeing to an arranged marriage.
Or to openly support the kingdom in a political way. Like advertising Soleanna’s latest controversial research project or something? Who knows.
Some sort of payback for Sonic having no romantic interest in him despite having the gall to flirt back like he was some commoner of no importance. How dare he!
Maybe Mephiles targets Shadow as a way to lash out against Sonic? Either way he’d antagonize Shadow because:
1st] He delights in spreading misery. Fanning Shadow’s jealousy is a fun pastime.
2nd] Sonic is a villain who fancies himself a hero. How dare he not be sincerely enamored with Mephiles! It was one thing when that playboy played the game to rile that boorish stunt double. It was another when he realized the jerk only played because of genuine interest in that stunt double. How dare!
3rd] Mephiles shall not be used like a mere pawn! He is the prince. Only he can use people and throw them away.
There's so many ways for this Body Double to roll!

Sonic drags Jet to McDonald's
“Did you steal my fries?” “No, I just borrowed them indefinitely.” (Prompt)
--------------------
"When you said it was your treat, this isn't what I had in mind." Jet had tried not to complain on the walk there, but if Sonic's idea of a 'treat' was McDonald's, his beak was going to run itself sore from whining about it. After races his ideal go-to meals were usually healthy, nutritious, something that any rider would get some benefit from.
NOT fast food.
Sonic lifted his arms to cross them behind his head, fluffing up some of his quills in the process. "Well if you don't want any you don't have to keep following me, I'll just treat myself and leave you to your fancy bird food or something." His voice had a playful tone to it, looking back at the hawk to show off his smug face, turning back around to pick up his walking pace.
All Jet could do was swallow the countless retorts he wanted to throw at the annoying hedgehog, begrudgingly strolling past the driveway entrance sign and to the main door. If anyone saw him rushing ahead and holding the door open with his foot and back turned for Sonic, that wasn't any of their business.
Sonic walked in circles as he figured out what to order, muttering to himself whether he wanted a burger with loads of toppings or just a handful of them, Jet only scanning the menu and deciding on a sausage burrito and mcflurry. After making the cashier wait for what felt like centuries, Sonic settled on a deluxe quarter pounder and large fries.
"For McDonald's, this burrito is kinda good..." Jet slipped out a small compliment before taking another bite of his food, careful not to get anything on his beak. Sneaking a peak at the other he had to use the burrito to hide a smile and rising laugh, huffing it out instead as he saw just how much of the hedgehog's food ended up on his face. Whatever response Sonic was trying to give, nothing could be made out through all the chewing and eating.
As good as this burrito and the flurry were, he couldn't stop smelling the heavenly scent of fries. At first the thought of taking a few was just in passing, now it was the only thought in his head, making sure that definitely stupid hedgehog was focused on his burger, sliding a hand forward aaaaand...
Sonic swallowed the burger mush in his mouth in record time once he spotted Jet's hand, trying to quickly stop it just to be a second too late, watching him snatch away a couple fries before shoving them into his beak, "Wha-! Did you really just steal my fries?" The offense was only fake, saying it like it was a dastardly crime with an amused smile growing. And he took a quick second to wipe his mouth clean with a napkin.
The hawk bathed in the response he was getting, making sure to drag it out by slowly chewing and swallowing the fries, leaning an elbow on the table and grinning, "Well, you did say it was your treat. And I didn't steal them, I'm just," Another four fries were stolen from him, "...borrowing them indefinitely."
Jet only received a shake of the head and chuckle, missing the fond look in Sonic's eyes, blue quills rustling while resting his chin on his gloved hand. Which, since he didn't take his gloves off to eat, had burger residue stained at the fingertips. "Never a dull day with you even if it means getting robbed, huh? You're lucky you won your race today, maybe I would've taken you somewhere worse."
"Oh really? You'd be that cruel to the world's best, fastest and most famous Extreme Gear racer to ever grace the stratosphere?"
It might have taken them half an hour to finish their food through all the talking, laughing and play-fighting, but for a McDonald's visit, Jet found it worth his time in the end and Sonic was glad he made time to run out and watch the race.

The Great Big Slingo HC Post
Dingo’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, true, but he is definitely the more emotionally aware of the duo. One might think there’s no thoughts behind those dopey half-lidded eyes so prone to staring off into space. Not quite. When it comes to more personal matters, he’s a good listener. Once in a blue moon he’ll even get Sleet to open up.
The hedgehog triplets are very much keen to Dingo’s crush on Sleet. To catch him off guard, they’ll sometimes slyly allude to it, much to a flustered Dingo’s chagrin. More incentive to permanently silence them, he figures.
Sleet's not super great at maintaining his hygiene. He'll polish and shine his armor until it glistens, but giving the set a deep clean is usually out of the picture--he's become so dependent on the power high it gives him that he rarely takes it off. The thick polluted air of Robotropolis doesn't do any favors for his mangy fur coat either. So if anyone's a flea paradise it's Sleet. He's only projecting when he calls Dingo that.
At this point in time, the relationship is one-sided. Dingo’s making ALL the moves. Sleet tries his damnest not to acknowledge Dingo’s goo-goo eyes and honey glow cheeks. He tries not to stare back, but he’s definitely gotten distracted by Dingo’s buxom chest. Kinda hard not to when your co-pilot’s almost always shirtless. Even harder not to notice when you’re pinned beneath said buxom chest——Dingo could make tripping over his own feet a professional sport.
You’d think the average joe would reconsider negotiating with Sleet. He has a sort of dastardly energy about him; he just screams bad news. And yet, he manages to reel in even the most disconcerting of clients. Sleet’s very good at feigning respect. I mean, how else would he be able to convince Robotnik to let his clutzy ass stay for so many episodes? After an especially big transformation, Dingo becomes so drowsy he can hardly stand. See, all that molecular stretching and rearranging can really take a lot out of someone. And if he’s not quick enough to change back from his embiggened state, he comes crashing down to the earth——anything or anyone nearby is liable to be crushed. Swatbots beware. When he wakes, he is insatiably hungry. Which is saying a lot because Dingo already packs food away like it’s nothing because of his bulking regime.
Dingo finds Sleet’s voice very soothing. Well, that is, when Sleet’s not yelling at him of course. It’s so soft and muted. He could listen to it all day. Sleet, egotist that he is, is more than happy to oblige.
Sleet is a skilled marksman and weapons master. He prefers distance, specializing in both handguns and long guns. He can still hold his own in close quarters using an array of fighting knives and some rudimentary martial arts. He’s also not half-bad when it comes to riding and caring for animal mounts, thanks to the teachings of the cowboy bounty hunter Fleabyte. The only UK Sonic reference you’ll probably get out of me lol, I haven’t read it. I just like cat boys
Dingo’s fighting knowledge is limited to the concept hitting, hitting hard, and hitting dirty. He has no formal training, relying on instinct and what he’s seen on television to best enemies. His moves are sloppy and unrefined. As a shapeshifter, he’s also granted a number of potential forms, can alter the size and shape of his limbs, and can essentially turn his body into silly putty. By all means, he could finish fights before they even start with this power, but Dingo prefers to milk his battles, he finds it most invigorating.
Dingo doesn’t understand mirrors. Sleet, self-infatuation extraordinaire, rather likes mirrors. Yyyeah. He hasn’t owned any since the incident.
Sleet was raised in the gutter. He knows a fair bit more than the average street urchin because his mom was upper class, that is, until she was slandered by her peers and booted from high society. However, currently his education has all but fallen through the cracks. He tries to avoid reading most of the time. Because what will Dingo think if he learns he’s not the uber-genius he makes himself out to be. And wait, why does he care what Dingo thinks? Sleet.exe has stopped working.
Sleet enjoys strategizing. He has free time stored away solely for scheming purposes. Dingo does not. He prefers punching. And biting. Sleet’s plans almost never go the way he intended because of Dingo’s haphazard, devil-may-care nature. They bicker quite a bit. How they’ve managed to get this far in the bounty hunting business is a mystery. That’s not to say Sleet would do better on his own, quite the opposite really. He has a penchant for monologues and theatrics. He can’t simply shoot the target, no, he has to lord over them and savor the moment. A fatal flaw. Dingo keeps him on his toes.
Dingo likes scrapbooking. He has more stationary and cute pens (he’s very heavy-handed, so all of them are in middling condition) than he knows what to do with. He keeps mementos of every successful hunt, little knicknacks and trinkets, maybe the occasional tooth from a beaten adversary.
When they manage to squeeze any free time out of their schedule, they enjoy hitting up arcades and stealing the prizes from kids. They also like to take potshots at the mutated wildlife on the outskirts of Robotropolis.
Sleet and Dingo are very competitive. Back in the good old days, before that rotten Robuttnik came into the picture, on particularly uneventful nights they played board games. They both cheated so they went around in circles for hours. Lots of yelling, finger pointing, and eventual falling into a heap on the floor because they stayed awake all night trying to psyche each other out.
Dingo has a twinge of separation anxiety. It’s not super debilitating, but he gets very restless if Sleet is away.
Dingo’s greatest fears: the dark, creepy crawlies like spiders and centipedes, and being alone. He wears these on his sleeve. Sleet, obviously, is afraid of being roboticized. The other deeper, more personal stuff is sealed away.
Dingo’s not the best at flirting. Sometimes his word choice is, well, let’s say unique. Lummox that he is, his compliments come off more like threats. Turns out Sleet does not in fact appreciate being called small, fragile and edible among other things. (Dingo has cute aggression.) It actually makes him quite unnerved. Who woulda thunk it?
Dingo’s molecules are highly malleable. He can transform into anything so long as he can imagine it, organic or inorganic, animal, mineral, and vegetable, the whole kit and kaboodle. Now, as a mutant of very little brain, Dingo’s imagination can be quite limited, and his concentration skills are lacking. He can only hold a shape if he remains focused. That’s where the transmogrifier comes in. Sleet first developed the remote as a kid not only to defend himself against the local rabble rousers, but to humiliate anyone who so much as looked at him funny. It wasn’t a complete success, only partially transforming targets.
Dingo can transform without the transmogrifier, but the transmogrifier offers boons he wouldn’t be able to reach otherwise. Such as the ability to change colors.
Sleet is toned, but not ripped. He’s most muscly in his arms, a happy accident from lifting heavy weapons. He has very prominent clavicles, and in certain positions his ribs peek through.
Dingo’s legs are substantially short. He still values leg day, however. His calves are chunky.

Story Prompt Request: "The Sixth Egg"
Another story prompt was given to me by "Mr. Archive Guy"!
===============================================
As long as everyone in New Yolk knew, there were only five members of the Council. There was Doctor Babble, the baby of the group, literally, Doctor Don't the grumpy teen, Doctor Done-it, the frail old man, Doctor Deep, the middle man, and Mr. Doctor Eggman, the leader.
But recently, the Council found itself considering another member. This person they had in mind was no other than the fox they had recently captured. They originally ignored him, shocking him when he opened his mouth. But the fox had offered them schemes, better ideas than their own, and while it was a harsh rub on their ego, they couldn't deny that these ideas were better than their own.
Recently, the fox had actually criticized their security system, so they sent him back, rejecting his ideas to improve it. They found it odd he offered ideas to improve the place he was held captive in, but eventually, they caved. They called the fox in and asked him to give his ideas.
Unsurprisingly, these ideas were better than the Council's original design. So they set these new ideas in place, and they found massive improvements.
It went on like that, the fox working and helping the Council. Eventually, he became present even more, joining them for mealtime, and conversing alongside them in scheming on how to take down the rebellion once and for all, providing incredibly dastardly ideas.
Then they decided to make it official, and everything changed.
There were six members of the Council. Doctor Babble, the literal baby of the group, Doctor Don't, the grumpy teen, Doctor Done-it, the frail old man, Doctor Deep, the middle man, Mister Doctor Eggman, the leader, and the final and newest addition of the team, Doctor Nine, the brains of the group.
================================================
The rebels laid before the Council. There was the bat and the echidna, who cursed out the fox, and then there was the one Nine truly kept his eyes on; the bright blue hedgehog looking at him with a deeply confused and betrayed expression.
Only one word spilled out of his mouth, his voice filled with pain and genuine disbelief.
"...why...?"
The Council laughed before Nine could answer. They mocked the hedgehog, calling him an idiot, and questioning who would ever be friends with him.
Nine's hands curled into fists.
They called the hedgehog weak and pathetic, stating that he would never win.
Nine's teeth clenched.
They mocked Sonic about Nine's supposed betrayal, stating how the hedgehog will forever be alone, and there was nothing the hedgehog could do about it. At the last one, the hedgehog's face contorted into one of utter despair, and worse, those green eyes became glossy.
Nine shook in rage.
Alright, that was enough of that.
Nine's yell surprised everyone as he hopped off of his hover chair.
"Execute Operation Chillidog!"
The other Council's chairs malfunctioned before clattering to the ground, sending the users tumbling onto the ground in shock. The handcuffs of the rebels and Sonic deactivated and fell to the ground as well. The rebel's faces were ones of shock, but Sonic's face was one of pure joy. A sight that made Nine's heart melt.
Turning back to the Council to find the robots that Nine improved pointing their blasters at them. They looked utterly helpless, utterly betrayed, Nine realized joyfully.
They were shaking.
"Aw, come on, you didn't really think I was on your side, did you? It was totally worth it to see this!", Nine mocked gleefully, "Come on, stop shaking, stop looking at me like that. If any of you had any brain cells you would've realized it was too good to be true."
Nine turned to Doctor Done-it, who was staring back at him with sheer rage, yet subtle hurt. He leaned in close to his face, smiling at him.
He commented on something he remembered and found funny.
"Guess you were right Doc.", when the old man's face changed into one of confusion, Nine giggled, "I guess I was a weasel after all!"

Hedgehog Hodgepodge: A Story of Espionage, Confusion, and an Evil Plan Gone Haywire
Prologue
“There’s got to be something I haven’t tried yet,” said Dr. Eggman. His chin rested in one hand while he drummed his fingers with the other on the desk in front of him. “I’ve been going over option after option in my head, but nothing feels… dastardly enough. It’s been a long time since I’ve pulled out all the stops for a fight with Sonic.”
“You know what they say, Boss - you shouldn’t reinvent the wheel!” said Cubot.
“That’s right,” agreed Orbot. “You could look at your files and see what’s worked in the past.”
Eggman thought a minute, then started typing into his computer. “Yes. YES! This is the perfect plan! I’m so glad I thought of it!” The two automatons gave each other a knowing glance.
“I’ll go back and tweak the attacks that have put a chink in the armor of that blue rat before!” The clicking of the keyboard paused. “Problem is, the size of his entourage has doubled. That makes it less likely that he’ll see the bulk of the action… Hmm…” The doctor continued to type, wracking his brain for additions he could make to his past schemes.
“What if we give his friends a little distraction that pulls them away from the main event?” he said, adding notes to a new file. “Oh ho ho! This is so eeevil! And quite the complex scheme!”
The two robots glanced at each other, expecting the doctor to give them more details.
“Anything we can do to help, Boss?” asked Cubot.
Eggman gave a menacing smile. “Just watch it all unravel…”

Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog - Super Robotnik (Screenshots and Review)
Tumblr media
In today's episode, we get to see what happens when Robotnik gets mutant superpowers, as you might guess from the title!
The episode starts with Coconuts cleaning up in Robotnik's lab, when he knocks over an entire shelf of chemicals into a tub! As Robotnik enters the room, he slips and falls right into the tub of mixed chemicals. Luckily for Robotnik, instead of getting dangerously ill, he ends up getting big muscles, and superpowers! As an added bonus, his clothing transforms into a snazzy little supervillain outfit "Sailor Moon style". To show his appreciation, Robotnik promotes Coconuts, and then demotes Scratch and Grounder, just to be petty. Those poor badniks can't catch a break! Robotnik tasks Coconuts with creating more of the new chemical mixture before heading out to do dastardly things.

Robotnik quickly heads off to attack Sonic, whom is relaxing at a nice little town park with Tails, enjoying some chili dogs that some unnamed fellow has made for them. Robotnik shows off his new strength by knocking the entire town airborne, and then using his new ice breath to freeze Sonic and Tails before flinging them all the way to the Frozen Wastelands of Mobius!
Tumblr media
All the world leaders are old white guys? That’s a big “yikes”, as the kids would say... Returning to his fortress, Robotnik stands up on a balcony window while Coconuts fails on his first chemical batch, accidentally making a slime monster that chases him and the other badniks around. Thanks to his newly enhanced hearing, Robotnik is able to hear the Mobius' world leaders gathering together to discuss what to do about him. Apparently Mobius' world leaders consists of….4 old white guys? Who may also be ghosts? I'd kinda expect...or hope.. for some more diversity than that! Whether they're ghosts or not, Robotnik soon arrives at their location and easily captures them all, carting them off to his dungeon.

This art style is just too cute!
Tumblr media
As this has all been going on, Sonic and Tails have finally managed to get  out of all the snow and ice they'd gotten buried under, only to run into Robotnik again. The doctor challenges Sonic to a competition of athletic feats, saying if he wins, that's the only way the world leaders will be set free (which is probably a lie, knowing Robotnik). After Robotnik departs, Sonic and Tails go to find Professor Von Schlemmer and get his help with training Sonic. It was around this time I noticed that the art and animation in this episode had a bit of a different feel to it, making me wonder if they'd had a special animator guest this time , and I was more or less right upon looking it up- this was one of the few episodes of the show that was outsourced to a Japanese animation studio called "TMS Entertainment". Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, the story!
The Professor eventually appears after having difficulty "finding himself". Oddly, he seems to have two lazy eyes in this episode where he doesn't in others, and this never gets addressed. He also seems really disorientated and tired, which makes me wonder if he got beat up by Robotnik or something? I hope he'll be okay!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor Robotnik ends up sitting on a thumbtack, which is how Tails finds out about his one weakness. He’s very self-conscious about his bottom, referring to it as his “unmentionable” area.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As Sonic begins to train with the Professors exercise machine,he also sends Tails off to spy on Robotnik. Thankfully, after a bit of sneaky peeping, Tails finds out that Robotnik's bottom is his one weak point, because it's the only part of him that didn't get submerged in the chemicals. Amusingly, we also find out that Robotnik is squeamish about his own butt, as he refers to it as his "unmentionable area".
With this information, The Professor cooks up a special powder that is supposed to dissipate Robotnik's powers, and puts it into a seat cushion that Sonic gives to Robotnik while in disguise.
Tumblr media
Since Coconuts couldn’t figure out how to recreate the chemical formula, he gives Robotnik a “rump protector”, much to the Doc’s embarrassment. Scratch and Grounder are eager to polish that fine booty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seems we have a cameo appearance by Willie Nelson in this episode! And that little guy on the far right looks like a tiny version of Japanese Eggman... Later on, the coliseum event begins. It seems the coliseum is no longer abandoned - there's a great big crowd, and an announcer there! Sonic and The Doc begin competing in various challenges, and.... hey, is that Willie Nelson in the crowd booing Robotnik? Nice! (There's also a little guy on the far right who has kind of a Japanese Robotnik look to him, too!)
In the final challenge, they have to fight on a plank over  a pit of brown, uh "yuk" as the announcer calls it. Is it poop? mud? expired chocolate pudding?! We'll probably never know! But whatever it is, Sonic successfully knocks Robotnik into it, just as his powers wear off. Sonic is able to snatch the dungeon key from Robotnik and free the world leaders. At the very last scene, an angel that Robotnik threw Sonic into earlier zaps him with lightning. Yep, apparently gods exist in the Sonic universe! Hopefully Sonic and Tails won't have to deal with any of Yahweh's temper tantrums…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Sonic Says sequence, Sonic tries to teach Coconuts about chemical safety. This is definitely a good lesson as it's something that gets brought up sometimes in my own workplace in regards to safely dealing with chemical spills. I suspect they might have also added this PSA out of concern that someone's dumb shitty kid might watch this episode and actually believe they'll get super powers form dousing themself in a bunch of random chemicals. That's no good!

This episode was really neat! It was fun seeing Robotnik flex his badass superpowers, and the use of a different animation team also gives this episode a unique feel at times. There's plenty of action and humor to enjoy too, especially when seeing Robotnik rather pitifully fretting over his own tushy. Definitely a recommended view!
