keroro is resolute... but he's naive and easily led... you could probably talk him into anything with enough conviction especially if you press on to something he already feels emotionally involved in

Who among current siennes would you consider to be the best actors?
Oh lord... this is not only so subjective, but also depends on like, what's your point of reference? ・゚✧*:・゚Takarazuka Acting*:・゚✧*:・ (and honestly? the prevalent acting style in Japan in general) is such a thing. It's frankly a little clunky and oversized for my personal taste. Although this can definitely be a commonality between stage and screen, it is worth mentioning, to be fair, that the theaters big productions use in Japan—Takarazuka included—are friggin enormous. Acting for the last rows of B-seki is perhaps (at least somewhat) intentional.
All that preface to say that the current siennes who stand out to me as the best actors are the ones who break from that style most frequently. Off the top of my head, and in no particular order, they are:
Nonoka Himari, girl is a quiet powerhouse
Yumeshiro Aya, girl is a loud powerhouse
Towaki Sea, girl understands nuance
Kujou Asu, give her an EGOT tbh
Kashiro Aoi, character queen
Houma Toa, character queen pt 2, fruity ver.
Hoshikaze Madoka, who to be fair I've barely watched since she left Soragumi but she made the most buckwild different offbeat acting choices I've ever seen last time I watched Hanagumi
Serika Toa, IMO overpowers the ham with the right amount of intensity
Natsumi You, I mean come on
Who are y'all's favorites?

Well, here I am posting about LL news again, this time w/ the new Hasunosora / Link! Like! Love Live! gals :] since we now have more information on them bc of this stream that happened earlier
Tumblr media
Here’s their 2d art! From what I saw in the stream,it seems like they’ll have 3D models in the game which is,,to be expected but still a little odd,I like the art style,it’s different but still kind of Love Live-y if that makes sense?? Anyways, here’s their names and my general first impressions of their personalities so far
From left to right:
Hinoshita Kaho - 1st year, yellow image color, overall from what I can tell is the genki leader but in a kind of Chika / Kanon mix kind of way?? It feels weird to compare new idols with older generations, but idk how else to put it she’s cheerful and positive but is also slightly more reserved if that makes sense…I also thought that she might like flower arrangement / might come from a family that owns a flower arranging business OR just likes flowers idk I might have misunderstood it somehow but she might
Otomune Kozue - 2nd year, mint / teal image color, kind of a ojou-sama type?? Which idk if we’ve really had before besides maybe Maki? Idk but she’s very reserved and calm,Kaho seems to look up to her a lot and she teases Kaho a bit back about not studying bc she takes studying and idol practicing, but yeah I think their dynamic is rlly cute so far
Murano Sayaka - 1st year, blue image color and oh my god she’s BABY!!!! Potentially one of my favorites out of these girls, she’s a little softer and shy (??) but she wants to try her best!! Yes I’m biased bc idol characters like her are usually the ones that become my favorites, but listen she’s just so CUTE ok like her design, her personality, her VOICE all of it is great (+ also she’s really good at figure skating which from what we know fits her super well plus she might know Tsuzuri from figure skating?? Idk)
Yugiri Tsuzuri - 2nd year, red image color and I literally said to myself “guess we gotta have a tbh creature girl every generation now” fndjdj there’s no other way to describe her I also like her a lot so far, she’s mysterious and quiet but also kind of silly and has a lot of gap moe…sort of like more mature Rina, idk how else to put it she’s rlly cute and again her + Sayaka have a super cute dynamic like they both help each other out of their shells in a way?? But Sayaka also spoils her a lot and reveals this less serious side to her too,I like it a lot also her voice sounds similar to Moca from Bandori which I think is nice
Osawa Rurino - 1st year, pink image color and well…we got our Nico / Kasumi / Natsumi type, she’s super energetic and a little bit smug?? Calls herself Ruri, uses a lot of English and knows a lot about idols or at least wanting to make people happy through being an idol, she also gets teased a lot + is childhood friends w/ the next girl which is very cute, she also…really likes tokusatsu type shows?? That’s kind of interesting chdjdj maybe I heard that wrong
Fujishina Megumi - 2nd year, gray image color and I lied,SHE is my favorite so far like…she’s a little calmer but also pretty upbeat ; She also seems to know a lot about idols, fashion and wanting to spread happiness through being an idol, plus also apparently isn’t good at studying (which…is a mood) and again,is Rurino’s childhood friend + understands her the most bc of this, listen the moment she said “Hi-Megu!” that’s when I decided she was already my favorite ok dndjdj
That being said,I’m pretty excited for these girls now that we know a little more about them! I look forward to knowing even more soon :] also it seems like the characters stream in the game?? So there WILL be a story in the game and we don’t have to like. Figure out the story through them talking about it while playing a game or something which is good cndjdj also a lot of people are saying the gameplay is similar to Uma Musume or Idolmaster which I can see why but yeah it’s definitely unique compared to the other series / games but we will see,it looks pretty fun and interesting so far

Second Manda’s 13 sentinels character thoughts post now that I’m close to 50% remembrance because I have problems and it’s summer (If you plan on playing this game do not click this there are MEGA spoilers in this)
(Will update this tomorrow cause like a solid 5 of these guys didn’t actually have any story progress lmfao, you can tell that my playstyle definitely leads to occasional tunnel-vision)
Juro: I fear he’s having amnesiac protag protag syndrome a little bit in that I’m Way more intrigued about the plot beats of his story than him himself, but I think he’s a fine character, still think it’s Hilarious that he’s got so many fucking romance subplots going on tho (but tbf so do Most of the people in this story this game is so fucking straight but in the most hilarious way)
Shu: This guy intrigues me mostly because I’m stupid interested to know how they’re going to handle him being Ida, like are Shu and Ida separate, is Shu in a similar position to Juro? Evidently not since Shu and Ida exist at the same time in some capacity, or maybe it’s something like we see Morimura do on the train with Ogata? Either way I like this guy a lot more than I expected he’s really fun, Juro’s second biggest competitor in the romance subplot olympics tho goddamn
Iori: I love her so so much, she’s really fun and I think she generally has some of the best character interacts throughout, I think her plot is incredibly intriguing and I Need to know her deal so fucking badly, assuming hers is swaying more Juro and that whoever the game Calls Morimura is fucking with her (which I know is true because I’ve seen Ryoko’s event where that’s made clear but y’know, how why when what) Juro’s Greatest contendor in the romance subplot olympics tho good god, the writers when they need a female love interest in this game be like “Eeeh. Fuck it Iori.” (Not in a bad way just a funny way, if you can’t tell I think whatever the fuck this game is doing with its romance subplots is spectacular and I wouldn’t have it any other way, that doesn’t stop me from thinking it’s Really over the top tho)
Megumi: I’m so fucking interested in who Fluffy is, based on what I’ve seen on Hiji’s side I’m guessing he can’t be working with Tsukasa and that group, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what his deal is but I’m pretty sure he’s clearly supposed to be the reason why this problem is even a problem to begin with once again knowing what I know from Hiji, I do enjoy her character but tbh I think it entirely hinges on paying attention to her in the beginning and understanding that Megumi’s Very lonely and Very desperate and generally I find her very good, thank god that I finally figured out how to get to the rooftop I feel like that shouldn’t have been so hard lmfao
Usami: I’m going to write more on her tomorrow because this idiot still hasn’t progressed past her prologue because of how I play, but I love her so much what a fun character, she plays off everyone so fucking well
Yuki: Getting to the bathroom was a Lot less horrible than I thought, so that’s on me, but I really love her she’s so much fun, there’s no heterosexual explanation for her behaviour with Shu tho (especially combined with every time she talks about Natsu) (Update after progressing Miura and seeing Where Do We Come From?: LMFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAO OHNO, not my dumb fucking ass reading that completely fucking wrong, oh man I love this game, omfg not me pulling a fucking zero escape on this mfer ohnooooooo) and that’s my general take, I haven’t gotten to the like. Plot Plot of her story yet but I’m really interested to see how the black suit stuff unfolds since she does seem unaware of their involvement with Natsu’s epic adventures in timetravel, as said tho she’s great, based on what I know from Miura’s route, she and Shu/Ida are 100% divorced, especially considering Natsu’s hair colour
Natsumi: Going to write more on her tomorrow cause I still haven’t progressed more but once again, love her, what a gal
Ryoko: I feel so fucking bad for her, and I cannot wait to find out more about her, and that’s from someone who went from 0 to 75% in one sitting and then getting locked lmfao, but ye she’s absolutely lovely her story’s so interesting, really want to know more about her relationship with Ei tho
Ei: There is no fucking way this guy is Not involved with Gouto’s assassination plot considering that I literally know that he told Iori that he’s an assassin from the future sent to kill her like no Way he isn’t the dude who spoke with future Gouto, Need to know more about his relationship with Ryoko Now, and I have yet to see him speak to Gouto but considering what I’m assuming about that scene I Need to see if they know each other or not, he’s a really cool guy tho I think he’s a very fun serious character, he truly gets into many a shenanigan (Mostly because of Iori lmao)
Gouto: Absolutely hilarious that I played his prologue and the game literally just went “Absolutely the fuck not bro you’re doing this Last Last”, and they were not wrong! I really need to know his deal tho he seems so interesting, I think he’s really nice tho like, I like what I’ve seen so far even tho he’s clearly supposed to be the serious red-herring kinda guy, but I think he’s cool
Ogata: From being the guy I yesterday knew the least about, I love him, what an absolute fucking guy, he’s so much fun, I was sure from the first key scene that it was gonna be Tsukasa and I’m so fucking glad I got that right lmao, but ye I think his story is really cool and it has some very interesting reveals, can’t wait to see what more comes out of it, really love him tho he’s so fucking great
Hijiyama: Okay, here’s the thing, I’m Clearly an Okino stan of the finest kind, mostly because I think he’s stupid fucking funny, and also really want to know what his deal is, but Hiji himself is So good, he’s such a genuinely nice guy what a lad, he’s probably the route where I’m laughing the most if only because I find him and Okino great together in every way, like what a good dynamic, but his route in general is just a good fucking time, really sadge that it’s only losing to Gouto in the forced late-game olympis tho, I would Def do a Ryoko on this one otherwise
Miura: Like Usami and Natsu I will write more proper on him later cause I still haven’t gotten much new stuff on him, but I love him I think he’s a very cool character, and like Hiji he’s a very genuinely nice guy Update after progressing more: THIS DUDE’S ROUTE MAKES ME INSANE LMFAO CAN YOU TELL ME PUTTING THIS ONE OFF FOR LATER HAS FUCKED ME OVER LMFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAO, unironically tho Where Do We Come From? alone has made my braincells spin soooo much, I love his route, I think he’s a lovely character, what a lad, he and Hiji both feel so well handled in the whole guys from the 40s get transported into the future and are completely delighted, like that’s so much better than a lot of the other alternatives they’re so much fun as fishes out of water
So anyways I’ve throughout basically gone “Okay who’s whose siblings here” cause timetravel stories always pull some secret sibling shit, and I’ve thought Iori was related to Ei at first, then Miura, and neither of them were true, and ofc the two characters that Are related, i.e Yuki and Natsu, are the ones where my First reponse was “Oh they’re kinda cute”, absolute fucking me moment lmfao, me when I go “There’s no heterosexual explanation for this character” ofc the game goes “Actually it’s even more heterosexual than you thought” fucking lmao (this is not a bad thing I just think it’s fucking Hilarious, I’m along for the ride in every way but sometimes the turns go where you didn’t expect and suddenly you have said very ohnono things previously lmfao)

(Green) some Hajime headcanons for you ❤️
-I feel like his skin is really smooth, idk why,,,Nagito running his finger across his cheek and being like ‘Ultimate Skincare…’
-I feel like him and Natsumi would’ve been good friends had she survived, they would’ve complained about the Reserve Course together and Hajime would listen to her stories about being a Kuzuryu
-Pretty hopeless with animals but likes looking at them (his ideal date would probably be at a zoo ngl)
-General sense of style is pretty casual though he doesn’t wear a lot of long sleeved stuff. He likes his arms out :)
-His face goes r e d when he gets really angry. Poor dude becomes a tomato when someone gets on his nerves
-Typical anime boy in that he eats a LOT, obviously not as much as people like Imposter or Akane but enough to where you wonder how someone so thin (or ripped depending on what you hc his body type to be) usually has so much on his plate when it’s time to eat
-I feel like,,,he’s either incredibly well mannered or your typical teenage boy going through hormonal changes jsjdjdidkd he’ll hold the door open for you if you’re nice to him but he’ll spin his chair around and continue listening to whatever’s on his playlist if you piss him off
-Hehehehe he’s ticklish all over his midsection, tickling him makes him SO mad but he can’t stop you because he’s laughing so much
-Doesn’t get sick often, when he does it’s usually something small like sniffles or a lost voice. Nagito is lowkey jealous of this but is also happy that Hajime doesn’t have to deal with the same things he usually does :’)
-Taste in music is pretty broad though there’s usually a theme of Teenage Angst in all of the songs on his playlist. Current chart stuff is less likely to appear unless the lyrics are about how tough life is or smth (I think I’m just in love with the idea of Typical Teenage Boy Hajime tbh lol)
OGH BABYYY
hajime is the type to have frustratingly smooth and soft skin despite never really moisturizing or anything kasjdgjas
oh yea natsumi and hajime talk shit all the time, they probably gossip abt the main course and make little mean remarks abt the staff alsjdhkasdg theyre probably a pretty intimidating duo among the reserve department
in addition to his face getting red when he's angry, i also like to think his voice starts cracking more than it usually does,, making him more cute than threatening much to his dismay (he's even cuter when he tries to be mad while being tickled aksjdgfg)
hajime doesnt get scarily sick but that doesnt stop nagito from sticking by his side all day very, very concerned and catering to his every need akjsd
hajime is oh so very basic and i love him for that <3

Tsukuyomi: Where are the boys when you need them.
Tsukuyomi was alone, fighting a lot of mook soldiers from various villain factions: Shocker, Foundation X, etc.
Sougo, Geiz, and Woz had joined their fellow male Riders to fight the number of resurrected enemy generals.
While Tsukuyomi was here, all alone, fighting the mook army.
Natsumi: Looks like Tsukasa-kun was right.
Tsukuyomi: Natsumi-san, where are the others?
Tsukuyomi: I could use some help over here.
Natsumi: Unfortunately, the boys are off playing hero to strangers in another world
Natsumi: Fortunately, Tsukasa-kun was able to send people to help the ones left behind here.
Natsumi: Here’s my help.
Natsumi threw Tsukuyomi a Ridewatch.
Natsumi: Use that.
Tsukuyomi: A Ridewatch?
Tsukuyomi: Might as well.
-Armor Time! KI-VA-LA-
Tsukuyomi began to don Bat-like horns on her helmet and her white cape became a white cloak that wraps around her body.
Natsumi: Henshin
Natsumi, as Kivala, grew wings grew wings on her back before slashing a myriad of mooks, thinning out the crowd that Tsukuyomi was facing.
Natsumi: Tsukuyomi, I have to help the other Riders left in this world.
Natsumi: I’m sure you can handle them by yourself.
Tsukuyomi: You’ve done enough, Natsumi-san.
Tsukuyomi: Go help the others.
As soon as Natsumi was out of Tsukuyomi’s sight, Tsukuyomi’s cloak began to unfold and formed a pair of white bat wings behind her.
She used Kivala’s sword and her Faiz blaster, in tandem, and began defeating the mooks left and right.
-Sonic Stab: Time Jack-
Time stopped as Tsukuyomi began slashing all of her stationary enemies.
As soon as she landed, all of Tsukuyomi’s enemies exploded, leaving her victorious.
Tsukuyomi: Time to help the others.
Yeeeees ToT Let Tsuku have legend Rider forms!!
Zi-O did the non-Main Riders so dirty tbh. Even though more non-Main Riders appeared for the season none of them got Rider Armor forms at all... even though it's supposed to be a celebration for Heisei Riders as a whole.
And forget them even referencing the female Riders... they didn't even feature the one female Rider in Ryuki for Rider Time: Kamen Rider Ryuki (who also happened to be the first official female Rider). Supposedly it's because the original actress had just given birth... but they could just have made a new character take up the mantle like they did for some of the other Riders...

🔥 takarazuka *hides*
Anon, do you want me to be MURDERED?
Okay, I want this to be emphasized: I LIKE Takarazuka! I do! And I have friends who are Zuka fans and I love hearing them talk about Zuka/watching Zuka musicals with them! 1789 Zuka was basically what got me back into loving 1789, and getting into Zuka was a good stepping stone for getting into Toho. The costumes and production value are excellent, and I give them full credit for their reputation as a Japanese cultural icon and the current leading musical theatre troupe in Japan.
HOWEVER, I also think that they routinely bank on that reputation in order to have a “style over substance” approach - Exemplified by the Top Star system, which often focuses on capitalizing on the popularity of one or two stars while underdeveloping other characters and, on top of that, due to the privileged position of otokoyakus compared to musumeyakus, it often comes with quite a bit of sexist baggage as well. (See: Solène’s song being given to Camille in 1789, Dmitri getting “Journey to the Past” + his own solo song in Anastasia, Guinevere having a mental breakdown in La Legende Du Roi Arthur + having her father threaten to honor kill her, Emma’s characterization in IAFA being flattened so that she can still be palatable, not having had a boyfriend before, not being as assertive, not being as casual when she’s around Josi even though the entire point of her relationship with Josi IS that she’s able to loosen up around him.)
And to some extent....no, I don’t expect, in the case of an adaptation, for EVERYTHING to remain the same, and in a lot of musicals, I think it was, genuinely, for the better - 1789 is much better than its French counterpart, partially DUE to the star system because it forced them to give multiple minor characters songs to create a solid ensemble musical, as is Don Juan. I do believe that there’s a problem where, when people see Zuka musical adaptations, they’ll miss the forest for the trees, complaining about plot details being changed without considering the broader cultural context. (See: Robespierre.) That being said, I do, fully, believe that we can and should be allowed to talk about sexism in particular. And, if we want to talk about Japan’s relationship to sexism in particular....Toho, while it’s made its share of slip-ups (Solène), has been doing perfectly fine with stronger female characters as well. Zuka relies on fan loyalty to do the bare minimum so that it can get pats on the shoulder for making progress (though I WILL say, in its defense, that it does have to keep up fan loyalty as well, so I know that it can’t go TOO far but...) Just have the top star wink at the camera in an important scene and people will keep coming, no need to talk about the sexism here, keep it rolling, keep giving the right amount of fanservice, toss some glitter on the problem. We don’t need character development, we don’t need plot, make it kawaii and sparkly and it’s fine! (And I want it noted, before anyone suggests that I’m forcing western feminism onto Japanese media, that a lot of my understanding of this has been formed by talking to Japanese friends.) There have been some Strong Zuka Heroine, but some of them seem....generically “empowered” without really having all that much to show for it, still being palatable, dainty, poised, and lovable, even if they might initially reject the Zuka hero’s advances. You couldn’t have, say, Margrid Arnaud in a Zuka musical, as grimy and gremlin-like as she is - You still can’t really have female characters who are PEOPLE.
It’s also very hard to be a Zuka fan as someone who’s very much a fan of MUSICALS because in general, within about a month or two, the bulk of fan attention tends to go to the next big project, especially since Zuka is constantly producing new musicals (exhausting its stars to the point where most top stars only last around 3 years which, tbh, can’t be mentally or physically healthy), and, for me, six months is barely enough time for me to fully decide my basic opinions on a musical - It usually takes that long, in the case of double-casts, for me to decide which I like more. To the Zuka fandom’s credit, I DO regularly get, say, likes and reblogs on gifsets from older productions, but, for the most part, there’s very much this constant moving from one show to the next while I tend to stay put and stan a few shows at a time.
And, of course, as a Toho fan, it’s difficult because I generally get this feeling of Toho being....inferior. People will boast about spending upwards of $500 on Zuka merchandise, going to Japan to see shows, but when it comes to paying for Toho shows, suddenly ~$125 is too much and I should give my DVDs to them. I will gladly watch Zuka musicals with friends because I like watching new musicals + hanging out with friends, but SUDDENLY, when I want to watch Toho musicals, I have to qualify them by what former Zuka stars are around. Toho musicals don’t get much appreciation - all we get is people wanting Zuka/complaining about Toho because it includes men (which makes me feel SUPER awkward as a bi woman, ngl) and then, when we want a tiny bit of recognition, getting a shoulder shrug and “well, girls do it better.” (Note: The Toho girls are doing quite well in their own right - Just ask Aya Hirano, Sonim, Erika Ikuta, Natsumi Kon...) And, of course, that’s not including musicals from other theatre companies, it’s just that, frankly, any recognition Toho’s gotten in the last few years has been purely because me and a few friends/mutuals have been working our tails off to give it that recognition, while Zuka gets more while doing less.
And the fandom, in general, isn’t willing to hear a SINGLE critical word against it, maintaining a policy of intimidation, fear tactics, and guilting in order to keep people silent while getting pissed off at minor faux pas that, unless you’ve been around the block, you wouldn’t *know*. And, for my part, I don’t have a general policy of outwardly TRASHING musicals, but I also fully believe that, when you’re asking people to spend upwards of a hundred dollars on a proshot (or to spend the time to watch a +2 hour musical), they should know, bluntly, what they’re getting. I swore, a long time ago, that I would never sugarcoat how I really felt about a Toho musical if asked because, as far as I’m concerned, people deserve to know the truth from my perspective. I won’t hide, for example, that I feel like Hanafusa Mari's acting hasn’t been solid for close to a decade and that Kaname Ouki’s Marie Antoinette’s been known to cause dogs to spontaneously break out in howling fits, because I want to be as trustworthy as possible. I’m happy for the friends I’ve made in the fandom, I wouldn’t trade them for the world, and I do enjoy the musicals that I’ve gotten into, but I wouldn’t dare go further into the fandom than that.

the uminekoooo mei event :D i'm so surprised you haven't posted about it yet!
Yesss, Umineko in Mei! I originally started playing Mei in hopes of an event like this! And it took over a year, but it's finally here!!
Hahaha, but as usual, I'm very slow to react on tumblr. Meanwhile, in the game itself I'd already zipped through all the gameplay content in the first few hours after it went live! ^_~
There's also a group that's planning to translate the story, so I'm waiting for those awesome people to finish rather than attempting to make sense of it myself. (I'm sure I'd probably getting a bunch of details wrong if I tried, both Higurashi and Umineko are a fair bit harder to read than Magia Record!)
And another thing - I've been following all the leaks and datamining for the event, and obviously those color my opinions and expectations quite a lot. There's been some backlash against the leaking, though, so I'd rather not discuss that kind of stuff in a public place like tumblr.
So, for example, I won't be talking about the choice of characters that got units for a while...
.
What can I say at the moment, though?
Well, I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the cutscene portraits. I haven't been much of a fan of Mei's expressionwork until now, but they've actually made an effort to try to carry over some of Beato and Erika's personalities. More of that kind of thing, please! (And while you're at it, maybe some more varied expressions for the game's main characters? Pretty please?)
The little emoji that you can use in the in-game chat are pretty great too.
I'm a little bit more disappointed with the card art, tbh. As many people have noted, Beato's cards in particular are very similar to some of the existing console CGs. And they show Beato at her least intimidating, which I think is a bit of a shame. (The new Seal with Natsumi Kei’s artwork, though, that one I'm definitely maxing out regardless of its stats!)
Dlanor's cards aren't super interesting either, though it is nice to see the rest of the Eiserne Jungfrau make cameos. Standard "please give her pants" disclaimer applies, however.
As for Erika... she'll probably be the one I end up trying to get, though I'm not about to try and 6 star her just for the Bern cameo. I don't think I've mentioned it on this blog anywhere, but I actually have pretty mixed feelings on Erika's character as a whole!
(If the art had been her exit from Episode 6, though, I might have tried. That's probably my favorite moment for Erika, and one of my favorite villain exits in general...)
And then there's Nao. Her working together with Rena is really cute, as much as I dislike the Chiester Sister's uniforms.
Honestly, I think the thing I'm currently most excited about is that Nao seems to have a pretty big role in the event story alongside Erika. That's definitely not a combination I was expecting, and I'm really curious where it will end up going!

ep 21
first half is the blackout plot... it was so cute. 😭
keroro loses hope quite easily, but he can get it back just as easily. he's fickle but like a phoenix.
not a lot to say but I enjoyed it.
second half... I remember this ep clearly from when I was a child!! it really stuck with me. I think for good reason, this half is Amazing.
so many things I love about it... keroro sobbing because he wanted to come along ;_;
natsumi not feeling sorry for them and telling aki to run them over.
the lil aliens playing games in the shadow bc they're so bored... "keroro doesn't count it's not an animal's name!!" "it's not easy being captain if no one listens to your orders"
KERORO PLAYING ALL BY HIMSELF.... and when he sees fuyuki with a bat he thinks he's gonna get hit for breaking the rules?? dude what did they do on Keron that this is how he reacts... all the time... instantly on his hands and knees, pleading.
keroro having a ptsd moment tbh when fuyuki explains what a grandma is because it's like a high ranking general... and he starts shaking and sweating... saying that they're probably scary...
looney tunes ass moment with keroro being chased by the dog... oh but of course first he Pretends that he's not scared... (no one's buying it, is it a self soothing thing?)... getting scared by some crows...
THEN getting found!! he was so scared he starts crying... then natsumi punches him on the head and says "cut it out!" and he's like "owie...ow... yes I'll stop" with the softest tiny voice :(
keroro yelling at them to shut up cuz they're making too much noise fjdkg deserved
THEM HIDING IN THE CAR. THEN SALUTING THE GRANDMA. AW. 10000/10 episode

Lockets [Version 2]
By: SassyShoulderAngel319
Fandom/Character(s): Avatar: The Last Airbender/Zuko
Rating: PG-11/T- (for minor injuries)
Original Idea: Same as Version 1--- @welovegroot asked and I had two different ideas so I wrote it twice.
Notes: (Masterlist)(By Character)(About Me) This one starts the same as version 1, but changes after Zuko reaches the South Pole! I like this version better, TBH... This one is also over 3,000 words!
^^^^^
“What are you doing?” Zuko demanded. I looked over at him, strapping my dagger to my belt. He had a bandage over his left eye.
“Coming with you!” I replied brightly.
“What?! No you’re not!”
“Well I can’t let you go alone. Duh.”
“No, Natsumi. Listen to me,” he pleaded, grabbing my shoulders. He looked so different with his head shaved save the high ponytail and the terrible burns on the left side of his face. “You cannot come with me. You have to stay here. This is your place—here. You’re not coming.”
“Why not?”
“Because this banishment is for me. I’ve lost my honor. And when I find the Avatar, I’ll get it back.”
I put one hand on the good side of his face. “But I don’t want to be here without you.”
He sighed and removed my hand. “I know. I don’t want to leave you either. You’re one of my only friends. But… I can’t let you banish yourself.”
“You’ll be all alone out there—”
“No. My uncle has chosen to accompany me. Stay here. That’s an order.”
I sniffed, eyes watering a little. “Of course, Your Highness.”
“Be careful. Train hard,” Zuko said.
“You too.”
He moved to leave.
“Wait!” I cried out. I rushed over to my dresser and pulled out a small wooden box. I returned to Zuko and held it out. “Take this with you. I was going to give it to you on your next birthday, but I guess now might be my last chance for a while.”
He accepted the box and opened it. The gold locket glittered in the torchlight of my room.
With one fingernail, he popped the locket open.
I couldn’t see it, but I knew inside was a smaller version of the portrait that had been painted of us when spring had begun. The court painter had been out in the courtyard, capturing the blossoms on the trees, while Zuko and I had been out playing and enjoying the last vestiges of our childhood. I’d asked the painter to paint the same thing, only smaller, and put it in the locket.
Zuko looked up at me, but didn’t say anything.
“To remember me by,” I said.
“Thank you,” he said. “But I don’t need a trinket to remember you by. I’ll never forget you.”
“Well take it anyway. To remind you of the good times.”
He nodded. “Thanks.” After a moment, during which it seemed like he wanted to say something, he turned around, toward my bedroom door.
He slipped out of my room like a wraith and disappeared from my life.
I collapsed to my knees and broke down in tears.
^^^^^
Zuko reached under his tunic and pulled out the locket. He popped it open with his fingernail. The catch and the hinge were much looser than they’d been two years ago when Natsumi first gave it to him since he opened it so often. The picture inside was preserved behind the thin, small sheet of glass, and had withstood most of the damage that could have been done to it.
There were he and Natsumi, playing under the pink blossoms in the trees, smiling and laughing. He couldn’t remember the last time he really smiled since his exile began.
The portrait had been painted before he got his scar. It was strange to see the left side of his face with unblemished skin. Simpler times. Sometimes he and Natsumi would spar in the courtyard—easy stuff. Rarely with enough fire to do any lasting damage to each other or the flora.
Zuko stared at the portrait for a while, feeling the boat chug beneath him. He missed her. Not a day went by that he didn’t regret not letting her go with him. But he knew, now and back then, that he couldn’t bring her with him into banishment.
“Prince Zuko,” his uncle said. “We’re coming up on the South Pole.”
Zuko snapped the locket shut and shoved it back under his tunic. He knew Iroh knew it was there, but Iroh never commented about it and Zuko never brought it up.
“Wonderful. Hopefully there we’ll catch some luck,” he said.
^^^^^
My arm hurt. Left side. Shoulder-to-elbow. The pain drove out every other thought. I was vaguely aware of the fact that I was lying down on something hard and uncomfortable, but I had no clue what it was. A stretcher? The ground? Who knew?
“The sergeant is injured! We have to get her medical attention!” one of my crewmates cried out.
“She’s the Fire Lord’s ward. Better make it fast or he’ll have our heads,” someone else said quietly.
“I thought he wasn’t terribly fond of her,” a third voice remarked.
“The Fire Lord isn’t terribly fond of anybody,” the second voice agreed. “However, she’s the daughter of one of his best late generals. Both of her parents died in combat when she was seven. Rumor has it Fire Lord Ozai promised her father that he’d make sure she was well cared-for until she was ready before she was even born.”
“Huh. Never heard about that,” the third voice said.
My blood was roaring in my ears and I was in too much pain to comment on their gossip. Old gossip. Sure I’d lived a majority of my life without my parents now, going back to the Fire Nation palace on shore leave since I was fourteen. Did people still really talk about that stuff?
I didn’t have the brain space to ask.
After several moments, during which I know I moaned in pain, there was a lot of movement, and then a rocking sensation. The movement had lasted a while, and yet no time at all.
The rocking was familiar. The creaking around me was too.
A Fire Navy ship.
The one I served on, if I wasn’t mistaken.
“Get the medic. We’re taking her back to the capital to recover. That wound is too nasty,” the captain’s voice ordered.
^^^^^
“Prince Zuko!” a serving boy exclaimed, throwing open the door to Zuko’s chambers.
“What?” Zuko snapped as Mai pulled away from the kiss they’d been sharing.
“Did you hear the news?”
“What news?”
“Lady Natsumi is back!”
Zuko’s heart stopped. “What?” he asked.
“Yeah,” the boy agreed. He was probably fourteen. “Apparently she got badly injured on the battlefield. Sent back to the capital to recover. She was s’posed to be delivered here to the palace according to the other servants. Dunno if she made it. I just know she’s back in the Fire Nation.”
Zuko stared straight forward, hand crawling up to the locket he still wore but kept hidden. It had been a long time since he’d seen her.
Would she even remember him? Would she still care? Was she in any condition to see him?
He shook his head. “Thank you for informing me,” he said. The boy slammed the door shut again.
Zuko’s arm around Mai loosened slightly. He couldn’t believe it.
Part of him was mildly surprised she was still alive. Everyone else he loved once tended to get ripped away from him. Why should his childhood best friend be any different?
The other part of him was ecstatic. She was still alive! And she was coming home!
Mai looked up at him. “May I come with you to visit her? She was my friend too.”
Zuko nodded. “Sure.”
^^^^^
By the time the pain medicine had eased enough of the agony for me to open my eyes, I realized where I was.
The infirmary of the Fire Nation palace. I’d been in this room plenty enough as a kid—minor early Firebending training incidents, making mischief with Zuko and Azula and Mai and Ty Lee, that one time I fell off the courtyard roof—to recognize it on sight.
My arm still ached, but when I looked at it, all I could see was bandages.
“Good morning, milady,” the old nurse said. She’d guided me through a lot of pain in my life.
“Is it morning?” I complained.
The nurse chuckled. “You haven’t changed much,” she said. “I’ll tell Prince Zuko you’ve woken.”
I sat up so fast my head spun. “Zuko’s back? What happened? Did he find the Avatar? What has he said—”
“Relax, my lady,” the nurse soothed, gently but firmly forcing me to lie down again. “He can regale you with stories when he arrives. For now, you need to keep resting. Your body is trying to heal.”
I sighed. “Sorry,” I muttered, relaxing back on the bed. “I just… didn’t think he’d be here.”
“It’ll all be alright, young lady. I’ll go fetch him, but you need to drink this tea and rest.” She put a small earthenware cup into my hand. I sat up enough to sip at it. It was warm and spicy—perfect authentic Fire Nation tea. So much better than what we brewed on our ship. But there was a war on and luxuries were scarce out in the military.
The nurse slipped out of the infirmary. I set the cup down and peeked under the bandages. Yikes. The burn was gnarly and was definitely going to scar.
I resituated the bandages and tried not to gag. I’d seen worse on other soldiers. Maybe it was because it was my own skin that it grossed me out.
The door opened again. “Nice to see you’re awake,” a familiar voice said. “You’ve only been out for three days. That old bat wouldn’t let me see you.” I glanced over to the door to see a familiar figure dressed in long royal robes.
I smiled. “Hi Zuko.”
He gave me a tiny grin. “Hey,” he greeted.
“How… how are you?” That seemed like a really stupid question, but I couldn’t think of anything else to say.
“Better question is how are you?”
“Don’t do that,” I complained. “Don’t turn it on me.”
He shrugged and sat in a chair near the bed I was on. “Better than talking about me.”
“But I want to hear everything.”
“Later. I promise. But you’re the one lying on a gurney wrapped in bandages.” He sighed. “I, uh, brought you something.” He held out a small red box.
He helped me sit up and propped me up on a small pile of pillows before handing me the box.
I pried the lid open.
And gasped.
Sitting in the box was a beautiful, ornate gold locket. Like the one I’d given to him three years ago but much fancier. Gently, so as not to disturb my injury, I pulled it out and opened it. “Oh Zuko…!” I whispered, in awe.
It was the same painting as the one I’d given him when he left three years ago but updated to our current ages—along with the scar on his face. My hair was pulled up in a proper top-knot, rather than the ponytail of my youth. He was in his armor—and I was in mine. In the old one, we were in soft, loose tunics.
The smiles were smaller—and I felt my heart break.
I looked up at him. “It’s beautiful. Thank you.”
“I was going to send it to you before your birthday. But then I was told you were here.” He gently removed it from my hands and clasped it behind my neck. I tucked it down my patient gown neckline.
“Thank you.”
“Of course. I missed you.”
“Missed you too.”
The door opened. Mai stepped in. “Morning,” she greeted flatly.
“Morning,” I replied, trying for a smile and pulling more of a grimace as my injury throbbed.
“Heard you got pretty hurt,” she said, standing next to Zuko and wrapping an arm around his waist. I could have sworn the crack of my heartbreak was audible. Why was I surprised? Mai had always had a crush on Zuko. I’d never really noticed whether or not he liked her back—but I knew throughout our childhood that she liked him. It shouldn’t have surprised me that since his return they’d be together.
“Yeah,” I said, managing to keep any quivering out of my voice. “Kinda sucks.”
“So I’d imagine,” Mai said.
“Good to see you again, though,” I said. “Both of you.”
“Thanks,” Zuko said.
The nurse came back in. “Alright, alright! Shoo! She needs rest and healing, Your Highness, Lady Mai.” She waved them out.
Once they were gone, I stopped suppressing the pain in my chest and my injury. Tears flooded to my eyes and spilled over. I reached up with my right hand and held my injured left shoulder. That caused a spike in the pain, but it also brought comfort.
The nurse started attending to me. “Are you alright, my lady?”
I sniffed. “I don’t know,” I said. “Everything hurts.”
“I’ll make some more medicine for you. The pain should be dulled.”
“It’s not that kind of hurt,” I muttered.
The nurse glanced over her shoulder at the door. “Ah. Prince Zuko and Lady Mai. Yes. I always knew you had a special place in your heart for him,” she said as she started grinding up some herbs. “I'm sorry, my lady, for your reunion with such a dear friend to be so bittersweet.” She didn’t notice my hand curling into a fist around the locket he’d given me. A gesture of friendship. Nothing more.
I opened it again and removed the small glass panel to look at the back of the small painting. It was blank.
“He never even turned over the painting I gave him,” I muttered. “I thought he’d get bored and find it one day.”
“Pardon?” the nurse asked.
“Nothing. Never mind.”
^^^^^
“Alright. Something’s wrong,” Mai said after Zuko had been quiet for a long time.
“It’s nothing. It’s just weird… Seeing her again after… all this time,” he said. “She’s changed. But… so have I.”
“Hrn,” Mai grunted, sounding disinterested. “She gave you that necklace, right?”
“Yeah. The day I was banished. She wanted to come with me.”
“The two of you were always close friends.”
I knew it, Mai thought. She’d felt the disconnect between her and Zuko the moment that servant boy said Natsumi was home. It had only grown in the three days she’d been unconscious. The problem was: Mai wanted to hate Natsumi for it, but couldn’t. Zuko’s feelings weren’t her fault. She didn’t ask for him to like her.
Zuko reached up to his locket and pulled it out, gently prying it open.
In the glimmering firelight of the torch on the wall, he caught a glimpse of something through the painting.
Curious, he pulled the glass out and removed the painting. He flipped it over.
Dear Zuko,
Happy birthday! I’ll always love you with all my heart.
Your Natsumi
He stared at it, reading it over and over. There wasn’t much room on the back of the painting, but she’d always written really small.
Mai read the inscription over his shoulder.
She sighed and stode off.
^^^^^
Zuko and I laughed at one of his stories while I was recovering. I’d been moved from the infirmary to my old room, but my arm was still hurting and I couldn’t remove the bandages. “Seriously? Pirates?” I asked.
He nodded. “Yeah. It was… a very strange day,” he said.
I laughed and leaned my head back against my pile of pillows. “Wow. I missed a lot,” I said.
He shrugged. “I missed a lot of what you did too,” he replied.
I waved my hand dismissively. “Naw. You didn’t miss much. Just military crap.”
“C’mon. Tell me.”
Knock-knock!
“That’s probably the nurse,” I said. “Come in!”
The door opened. Mai stood there. “Zuko, can I talk to you?” she asked. He glanced at me as he stood up.
“Sure,” he said. He followed her out. But the door didn’t close the whole way, and I could hear everything they were saying. “What’s wrong?”
“I'm not blind, Zuko,” Mai said. “I can see how much you care for her.”
“Well yeah. It’s like you said. We’ve always been close friends.”
“No. This is different!” Mai snapped. “Look, Zuko. Ever since she came back, it’s like a wall’s been put up between you and me! I don’t see you as much and it’s like I don’t even exist anymore! We. Are. Over. Until you figure yourself out, don’t bother coming to me.” I heard her stomp off.
Zuko stayed out in the corridor for several long moments.
When he came back in, there was a lost look on his face. He closed the door by falling against it.
I slowly eased out of bed and stumbled over to him. I was still weak from medicine and injuries and exhaustion. I staggered into his chest, letting my good arm fall around his waist. “I'm sorry,” I whispered.
He wrapped his arm around my waist and held me close. “I… I don’t know…”
“Shh. You don’t have to say anything. I understand.”
“Hey wait a second. You’re not supposed to be out of bed!” Zuko bent down and scooped my knees up. He carried me back to my bed and set me down. “You have to take care of yourself.”
“Is it true?” I asked. “Since I’ve come back?”
He sighed. “I missed you a lot,” he said. “I looked at your locket every day while I was banished. And I found your note on the back of the painting a few days ago. I…” He hung his head. “I don’t know.”
“You don’t have to know everything, Zuko,” I said, reaching out and taking his hand. The movement hurt my injury and I winced but didn’t withdraw.
He glanced up at me. “Thank you.”
We went back to telling stories of the time we spent apart. In the middle of one of his stories about a woman named June and an abbey that made perfume, his hand had found my injured shoulder. It throbbed where he touched it, but the pain brought a sharp clarity to the world around me.
I sat up. “Zuko?” I asked.
“Hmm?”
“Everything okay?”
“I… I think so. What Mai said brought something to mind that I haven’t dared think about in years.” He slid the locket out of the neckline of his robe. “I love you too, Natsumi.”
“Zuko. I'm not going to be your rebound.”
“No. No I understand.”
“Give yourself some time. If you still love me by the time I'm healed and you’re over Mai just barely breaking up with you, then maybe we can try to be together.”
He nodded. “I understand,” he said.
Wow. He had changed.
^^^^^
“Well, my lady, looks like you’re all healed,” the nurse said as she removed my bandages. Permanently. It was scarred but the burn no longer hurt.
I smiled at her. “Thank you,” I said. I gave her a hug.
When I left the infirmary, Zuko was waiting for me. “You’re looking better,” he said.
“I'm feeling better.”
He snared my waist. “So. Is the writing on the back of the painting you gave me still true?”
“Always,” I replied. “Are you over your breakup with Mai?”
“Yeah. She and I drifted apart before you showed up. Your reappearance just confirmed it.”
“So do you still want to try the dating thing?” I asked.
“If you’ll let me.”
“Oh with pleasure, Your Highness.”
“Ugh. Don’t call me that.”
“So stop me, Your High—”
I got cut off by him planting his lips on mine.
I giggled. Exactly what I had in mind.

okay so i was talking about this recently and i figured, why not throw it onto the dash, right? just to show my current thought process as it stands and of course this is subject to change, but there’s always the thing that i’m lazy and i’ll probably not come back to this in months if ever.
so anyway ! let’s talk about IREZUMI TATTOOS, shall we?
1. doesn't start process of tattoos until despair, disregarding legal age in japan at 20 ( this is unless we're talking about aus )
2. nagasode / arm tattoo to wrist: sakura ( cherry blossoms ) w/ sleeping kinryu dragon wrapping around foreharm, dedicated to natsumi ( planned pre-despair w/ her death, but not executed ). muted color scheme, save for sakura and the dragon which is golden, gold representing value & variety of virtues.
3. possibly opposite nagasode dedicated to peko? possibly first post-nwp piece? not equated to dragons name wise, but yellow dragon tattoos are considered noble companions. also, ft. benten,  jp goddess who rides on nameless dragon & descends onto earth to stop evil doings of other dragons.
4. leaning towards namabuki ( severed head ) being the centerpiece of his back bc you know, it's a scary and edgy move, but also representing "willingness to accept your fate and with honour" which is heckin true in his case. fire incorporated into this piece somehow or other, signaling kuzuryuu rebirth.
5. maple leaves signal the passage of time, which could be representative post-nwp and his change throughout that entire heckin progress, perhaps putting those leaves where he has extra space or has an outline that he didn't have the time to finish in despair ( this primarily being the outline of namabuki, as nagasode more likely came first since duh smaller piece )
6. in general, themes that stick out in fuyuhiko's irezumi the most would be the themes of dragons, fire, and scales in general where he can fit them tbh. altho i dissect these pieces as their own, he is mindful of the overall picture and works to merge them all together. not so much flowery imagery, save for natsumi's piece, but this most likely changes post-nwp
7. no matter what time he is planning or actually getting done his intentions has always been to get munewari sōshinbori aka a full body tattoo save for an opening on his chest. ( in the case of an au this is the same, however, he would much prefer shichibu aka 3/4 sleeves tatts or an even shorter cut-off so he can roll up his sleeves a lil without people being put off by him but that's just a minor diff )
8. and, of course, dragon " DICK, "

35 fun facts about Farah!
Hey hey hey, have some fun facts about my weird little SHSL Gonzo Journalist!
Farah has two middle names, so their full name is Farah Cecily Anaïs Fujibayashi-Beauregard!
Their parents considered many different names for them before they were born, including Chloé, Léa, Amandine, Natsumi, Kei, and Akie.
As you might have guessed, Farah is biracial-- they’re half-Japanese on their father Tetsudō’s side, half-French on their mother Odette’s!
Farah lived in three different countries for the first 11-ish years of their life: they lived in Les Sables D’Olonne in France’s Vendée region until they were two and a half with their parents, then lived with their paternal grandma in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture until they turned six, and then after that lived in the city of Liverpool in England for about nearly six years! All those early-life moves and influences have noticeably tinged Farah’s accent, FTR, so that’s something one would notice off the bat should you hear them talk.
Since then, Farah has been travelling from place to place all over the world with their dad, never staying anywhere for too long! (He’s a travel writer, so he’s paid to do it, but the main reason is an insatiable wanderlust that struck him in his early teens and never quite left.) Odette travelled with them for a while, but returned to live in France a while ago to obtain a Masters in Film, among other dreams.) They’ve been writing fervently about their experiences everywhere they go, and they have a lot of interesting stories to tell.
For the last couple of months, though, Farah’s been living pretty solidly stuck to one place-- Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.
Farah, as you’d expect, is most fluent in Japanese, French, and English, but they know lots of bits and pieces of various languages!
Naturally, travelling the world on a pretty consistent basis means you can’t really be carrying around that much, so Farah lives light and doesn’t keep anything they can’t pack away very easily. In fact, they’ve probably been able to bring nearly everything they personally own in the bags they packed for school.
Farah’s grandmother Nanami (Tetsudō’s mother) was a MASSIVE motorcycle enthusiast, and it’s an interest which Farah also very much shares! Their dad owns one, and they’d love to own one of their own someday in the future.
Farah has an odd lack of physical resemblance to either of their parents-- they look a lot more like the grandparents and cousins of their extended family.
Farah is an only child with no siblings. They do have cousins their age, though.
Farah is ambidextrous! They make sure to use both hands as much as possible to keep ‘em in shape.
Farah has two pet rats, Gonzo and Salem! (They’re usually creative with their names, but they kinda slacked on ol’ Gonzo there.) Gonzo and Salem are actually third-generation pet rats-- rats don’t live very long, so Farah’s current rats are the kids of previous rats of theirs! (Also-- I confirmed with Pate & Cam that they could, so Farah officially has their rats with them to school! Yay!)
Farah loves rats in general, and identifies heavily with them-- they call themself a rat a lot. (They love their animal metaphors, really.) They’re also fond of other animals generally associated with neg/ative imagery-- s/piders, vultures, hyenas, snakes, shar/ks, w/asps, what have you.
Farah probably definitely has a fursona, TBH.
Farah really likes mints! They always have a packet or two on their person, and will offer people some at any time. In particular, they’re partial to peppermints.
Farah’s favourite physical traits about/of themself are their teeth and their legs.
Back when they were growing up in Liverpool, Farah went to gymnastics classes every week, and they really enjoyed them! They still love to handstand and cartwheel around the place, and will do so more than they should.
Farah is a massive daredevil. They loooooove to do dangerous, reckless, adrenaline-inducing shit, and generally has a very “live fast, die young, do anything that gets your heart thumping” philosophy, which will almost definitely get them killed someday, but hey-- bad enbies do it well, baby!
Farah is nosy as hell and loves to learn as much as they can about people they deem interesting. This has gotten them into real physical fights, and more than once.
Farah loves to dance, whether it be with somebody else or just on their own!
Farah, in general, has very active, constant body language-- they’re always doing stuff like rocking on their heels, moving around, making a lot of hand gestures, pacing, etc.
Farah has highly eclectic and expansive taste in music! Their dad’s caravan has a CD player, so they still buy a lot of CDs and try to listen to a lot of genres and artists! In particular, though, they’re partial to 60s rock, late 70s/early 80s British punk, quirky 80s new wave, and experimental hip-hop/rap, among others.
Their karaoke signature song choice would probably be “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” by R.E.M.
Farah finds 60s iconography and memorabilia incredibly fascinating in particular, and have collected it in the past (though they think there’s fun and fucked-up things to be found in every decade all over the world-- they’re a history buff like that).
Farah really likes looking at old tech, such as early cameras and voice recorders.
As you’d expect, Farah is a highly avid reader-- they’ve read several hundreds of books a year more than one.
Farah keeps diaries, which they update constantly! They also give everybody codenames in them, including people like their parents and their rats, just in case.
Farah’s thought about starting a podcast more than once. If they did, it’d probably be about political scandals.
If Farah doesn’t stick with this whole Gonzo-style journalism thing, they might get into making cutting, revealing, controversial documentaries instead.
Farah is the kind of person who uses makeup more like war/face paint than anything-- they use a lot of weird pop colours to accentuate different parts of their face and to look distinctive (and unusual). If they’re wearing makeup in a more traditional manner, chances are it’s for something Important And Official and/or they need to impress someone.
Farah’s assured in their gender, but isn’t really sure about their sexuality. They’re primarily interested in girls, but I can see them potentially falling for dudes and fellow NBs (although thinking about romance makes them stressed bc human attachments are hard.)
In terms of the Myers-Briggs personality test, Farah is an ENTP!
I have a Major Arcana assigned to all 18 of my DROCs, and Farah is the Death arcana!
While very blunt, passionate, and coarse in their writing, Farah in person tends to be more mysterious and held-back, although in their own bright, merry, good-natured, delightfully weird kind of way.

sorry if im dumb but what is a keroro
“[sergeant] keroro” is the main titular character in the anime “keroro gunso” (also known as “sgt frog” in both the dub and the english translated manga!), and he looks like this:
Tumblr media
the anime + manga’s plot basically boils down to like, keroro and his platoon (the “keroro platoon”, consisting of keroro and four other characters) being tasked with invading earth (”pekopon” / “pokopen”, as they call it).
the keroro platoon are a race of frog-like aliens known as “keronians”, from the planet “keron”. i have no idea how long this might get so i’m gonna put it under a readmore! i’m gonna try and be really simple w/ explanations etc.
this is what the entirety of the keroro platoon looks like, along with a moderately boiled-down summary of their roles/what they do/who they are. i’m usin this pic instead of an ordinary pic of them all just standing bc i love this pic lmao
Tumblr media
sergeant keroro (keroro gunso) is the green one, and he’s the leader of the platoon. he’s far from a hero-like character, often putting himself in front of others, and is always swayed by greed and gundam models. regardless, he still cares deeply about his friends, and has some form of a “no man left behind” attitude (not all the time, but, sometimes). iirc he’s pretty egotistical and also a lover of comedy which is a big mood.
private second class tamama (tamama nitohei) is the black (/dark blue) one, and he’s the lowest-ranking member. he is young and naive, and is prone to making rash decisions based on his personal emotions. he has a strong love and adoration for keroro (legitimate, romantic love - icr if tamama is canonically gay or bi), and is also notably incredibly jealous of specific scenarios. he literally converts his jealousy into a weapon and can shoot lasers out of his mouth. i love him
corporal giroro (giroro gocho) is the red one, and he’s An Angery Man but also i love him. he specializes in guns and all that kinda shit and is really argumentative with keroro (because keroro just. lazes around and does nothing). he’s very war-driven and commonly makes war analogies. one of my fav things about giroro tbh is that he’s the embodiment of masculinity and All Things Manly(tm) but he’s also incredibly emotional, iirc he cries more than the rest of the platoon members (except maybe dororo), and is genuinely just a Good Character? I Love Him?
he falls in love w/ a human tho and the human is like. a minor. which is kinda Nasty. a lot of us generally dont associate with/Despise the pairing of giroro + the human (natsumi) even tho the show can focus pretty heavily on it.
sergeant major kururu (kururu souchou) is the yellow one and he’s honestly such a fucking mess i love him so much he’s a big cc. he’s your typical creepy/perverted nerdy guy except he takes that concept and cranks it up to the extreme. iirc he has like little to no empathy for anybody, is generally disliked by the rest of the characters because he prides himself on being a twisted asshole, and happily uses other people for his own personal gain or torments them mentally just because he can/finds it enjoyable. he’s vital to the platoon since he’s the one who invents all the shit for their invasions. i love him so much hes such a fucking oddball compared to the others i love always looking for kururu in a scene because hes doing some stupid shit
lance corporal dororo (dororo heicho) is the blue one and is hands-down the best character in almost any piece of media ever conceived. he’s a highly skilled assassin but he’s also a complete sweetheart who’s like your Classic Hippie who just wants world peace and loves plants and nature and all that shit. every time there’s a reference to dororo doing gardening i cry because he’s such a pure and sweet character. he’s very commonly forgotten by almost every character in the show, and being mistreated by others (namely keroro) developed literal trauma within him (if that’s the right phrasing?). he’s very prone to emotional manipulation iirc and he’s just a very like. whenever he’s upset u just find urself begging for him to be ok
those were really bad descriptions
ok anyways
so these 5 have to like. invade the planet. they get split up when they arrive so the first few episodes are them getting the crew back together (iirc, keroro is of course in episode 1, tamama should be in episode 2, giroro is in episode 3 or 4, kururu is in episode 9 i think and dororo might be episode 14? this is all from memory so i apologise).
keroro is discovered (accidentally) and captured by the hinata family, which consists of fuyuki, natsumi, and aki (aki is the single mother and doesn’t show up often so i won’t talk about her).
Tumblr media
im jst grabbing random images off google dfkndkjgd
natsumi hinata (left) is the older sibling, iirc she’s around 14 years old, and she’s one of my all-time FAVOURITE female characters in media. she’s physically strong and athletic, and is shown to be like .. i mean i don’t want to be like ~ooh she’s independent and all that~ but like holy shit is she so fuckn independent. she’s literally heralded as “earth’s last line of defense” because shes TOO good. shes so good. i love natsumi so much. she’s also very easily angered but that’s good and i love her
fuyuki hinata (right) is the younger sibling who i Think is around 12 years old. hes SUPER big into the occult and all kinds of mysteries, paranormal or not. he obsesses over stuff like cryptids and is just A Huge Nerd. he’s physically like, awful, which is incredibly relatable like me too dude. he becomes rly good friends with keroro and sometimes there’s episodes revolving around them and their friendship and i always cry because it’s so genuinely emotional and touching and i love them so much they’re such good friends id die for their friendship
-
keroro gets captured and ends up living with fuyuki and natsumi in their basement. tamama lives at momoka’s house (a character i haven’t mentioned) but shows up in the hinata household a lot. giroro lives in a tent in the hinata’s back garden. kururu lives in his lab in the platoon’s secret base which is like, in a refrigerator, in keroro’s basement. dororo lives in a simple house with koyuki (a character i haven’t mentioned) and sometimes shows up in the hinata household.
episodes tend to follow the formula of like
keroro has a really shitty invasion plan for earth, they’re usually really awful like “we’re going to invade the planet by making sentient cabinets that detect where your feet are and force you to stub your toe”
kururu makes whatever it is keroro wants for his awful invasion plans but usually has some kind of drawback on said whatever he makes
giroro usually complains about keroro’s shitty ideas because they’re shit
tamama sometimes objects or questions keroro’s ideas but generally follows them and compliments him
dororo usually doesn’t show up, objects to keroro’s plans because they can harm people, or is just straight-up forgotten by the rest of the platoon
keroro fucks up somehow, usually because of his own cockiness or because someone like natsumi stopped him
keroro laments his failures but nobody is surprised by him failing
that’s rly loose but it’s like. the general gist though it’s presented in a way that never gets boring
there’s also episodes that focus around specific characters/character development/character backstories/just fun-filled filler episodes idk i love it
i lost my train of thought LMAO i hope that makes some kind of vague sense
most of the stuff i post about are “orikeros” (”original keronians”) which r just like. like you know bnha ocs? like those except its for this show instead. i’d go into more detail about like anthing but this is long as is dkjghdfkjg
