botw2 (totk rewritten) ganondorf design (+some story) post

Mummy version what link and zelda discover beneath hyrule castle when investigating the failing shiekah tech and discover a cave system that leads to several abandoned shiekah research/security sites and ultimately lead to a cave in which ganondorf is still sealed away by the ancient queen of hyrule; after the initial sealing (or capture rather) her descendant and the shiekah, who were rapidly advancing their tech at the time, build around it, both to keep the seal secret and safe (as the actual sealing was a short but intense battle between him and the queen that wasnt intended to happen like that, in the middle of the throne room that got broken and both ended up in the underground, the only survivor being the young princess of hyrule from that time- since all involved parties except for her died little was known as to how and why but the stories were spun regardless and ultimately the final narrative was in hyrules favor) and to use ganondorfs immense spiritual power and magical skill- eventually becoming one of the main power sources for all shiekah technology (ouch)

the chamber is all shiekah built (post sealing) and similarly secured like the monks in shrines (though visibly decaying and failing)- once disturbed the remainder of the ancient queen fused into zeldas hand (with seemingly no effect but temporary pain, perhaps she will hear voices from the past telling her not to explore any further .. still working on that) ganondorfs body falls to the ground but then springs back to life, somewhat clumsily but fiercly attacking zelda and link, the shock from being in this horrendous condition between life and death for thousands and thousands of years and suddendly being thrust back into his decayed and used up body still fresh

the mastersword is broken and links arm destroyed, both link and zelda start to flee from the crumbling cave, zelda dragging link behind her in panic (and as he is hurt)- after which link gets his shiekah tech arm (and the arm stays gone) and the world changes

mid game fight- this game is not as free in progression as botw, you can do alot when you want but some things will remain locked, the mid game fight can only happen once the 4 main regions problems have been dealt with (very different to canon totk, but that is for a different post) and the castle, which fell into the underground shortly after the intro, is made accessible (specific way how still in work) the interior is both broken castle, rooms previously blocked, and shiekah tech- since beneath the castle was a whole, giant array of tech made to secure the castle, including reserves of ancient energy specifically for the royal family and the entire mechanism behind the rising pillars filled with guardians-

at the start of the dungeon link is grabbed by malice/miasma hands and dragged into the castle, seperated from zelda and the mechanics she introduced (crafting/reparing weapons and more), theres no way out, teleports are blocked; after getting further in alone, zelda finds you again, and nothing seems out of the ordinary (unless you have a keen eye, she only uses her left arm and would walk past things she usually wouldnt) after a certain amount of progression, without warning, as soon as zelda is out of the cameras view she will attack you relentlessly, not speaking a word and with changed eye color- after fighting with her/beign chased into the main throne room, the real zelda breaks through a wall, her friends in tow (yunobo, teba+tulin, riju, sidon, which she went to to ask for help, explaining the time gap), and ganondorf drops the disguise, a fight with him (mummy version) ensues, though he is very much back to his senses

at the end of the fight he shows (or forces her to see) zelda his last memory from when he lived, the confrontation with the ancient queen to his sealing (since she doesnt know/is in denial of her families role in both all this and the sonaus (zonais) extinction (as well as the betrayal and persecution of the shiekah later on), and his beef is with her specifically, link is just her guard dog after all) (i wasnt sure to include a direct scene from the past, but this one scene is very self contained and gives alot of context while still letting most of the past be a mystery- as i want to keep it as feeling ... removed and unknown as much as possible from the world you know)

(after which he leaves the scene as zelda tries to understand what she just saw)

post revival Ganondorf (beginning of end fight cutscene and phase 1.) only appears at the end (excluding the possible cutscene in the mid game fight, which shows him in his time, alive, which is a different design than this that i will make for a cutscene/story post)

the end of the game is in/on the forgotten plateau (it ends were botw began :) ) perhaps it rose higher and revealed an entrance after more game progression (at least one more dungeon, master kogas, and the restorations of the master sword via deku tree dungeon and sword quest involving the dragons; how much of the past you cared to explore within caves, which ARE the underground- its in several bigger and smaller, harder to access caves, each being somewhat to very unique and reveal more context, is largely irrelevant, it mostly serves to give YOU more context and make you think)

the dungeon is within the plateau, once to the end there is a longer cutscene of zelda trying to talk with ganondorf, now in his, largely, restored form (largely as in, not exactly as he was in past, clothing difference etc), her having come to understand what her legacy is and wanting to take responsibility for it; he listens calmly and talks to her for a bit (but the tension is very high, he knows what threat he poses and his goals, zelda is visibly trying to keep it together) and for a bit it might look like she can avoid this conflict

but he makes it very clear then, that she cannot undo anything, there is no possible price she could pay, he has suffered at hyrules hands for generations, having seen the world that was his home grow into myth, see his own people forget him, and how the history was remembered, not as it was, but as they wanted it to; he is forever changed, ripped from his time and all he ever held dear (there are clues and a mention of him having had two daughters, a little boar figurine, carved from wood of trees now extinct, hangs from his belt even now)- he wasnt a perfect king, but well liked and kept his country to stay strong against hyrules schemes .. until he fell- he is not truly alive, he is in a strangers world and this world hates him, it is anger and hatred, rage against all that happend, guilt for having failed his own, feeling betrayed by them yet, even if not truly their fault as no one knew what really happened except him, but he was imprisoned, with no breath to speak nor air to scream

he does not care for this world and his only goals now are to disrupt as much as possible, be the unstoppable force that hyrules always been, be the monster they wanted him to be, do as he wants until someone stops him ...and kill zelda to end her rotten family- but even if she gave up her life willingly he wouldnt take it, she will have to fight and make her own hands dirty and she does not want to die.

your friends arrive, and the battle begins.

(rough examples of his weapons are further below; he fights with one arm only in phase 1. then reforms his missing arm with malice, borrowed from the boar appearance, though it is not usable enough to truly replace it, it acts more like beasts claw and to copy some of links abilities, like the hookshot)

Beast Ganon(dorf), normal appearance (phase 3)

at the end of phase 2 he knocks out your friends, changes into beast form and attacks you, zelda using her magic to shield both her and link so he cannot bite through, instead smashes them both through stone and dirt all the way to the surface of the plateau on which the fight continues, this time only link and zelda

(his movement isnt a senseless rage, but a graceful being, he moves and jumps, floats and swims through the air as the ground in an almost dragon like way, he still wields magic, not all malice, but lightning and perhaps even more too, it is still him, just a different form)

Beast Ganon(dorf) while charging magic (phase 3)

Ganondorf phase 2 + Ganondorf phase 4 (slightly out of order but the boar wouldnt fit on one picture with other forms)

at the end of phase 3 (beast) it seems like you have beaten him, he is down and zelda takes charge, ready to do as she did to the dark beast she faced before (dark beast ganon in botw) but as she raises her hand a sword slash cuts off half her right hand- he is not done yet and refuses to be dealt with like that again, not by her hand again-

the final phase is a mix of all, including his appearance, this is the final struggle, to give every last drop of strength, the hole in his chest is open, malice eyes staring from within, it keeps him alive yet still-

zelda is disabled for this fight, she has been taken to safety by your friends, this fight is all on link to finish; while this is his most desperate and vengeful form, he is not senseless either, he summons his sword to attack you with as he did in phase 2, then throws it at you, quickly conducting lighting to it and while you are busy dodging lunges like in beast form (to paint the picture a little), this fight is supposed to be truly challenging.

i have the entire ross lore timeline in my head and i dont feel like waiting on art motivation to dump the lore so um. official ross lore timeline starts now (context: ross is my camp camp oc who used to be a self insert but has kind of taken on a life of his own at this point and is basically nothing like me) this is gonna be a long post but i had to dump the lore eventually

Camp Lilac: Ross and his childhood friend Lynn go to an out of state summer camp that they used to go to every year as kids. It's their last year being young enough to go (Ross turns 18 that summer) so even though they haven't been in years, they give it one last visit. Drawings/Comics that happen during this time: May 30th, 20XX , Punch Buggy/Marshmallows , Spooky Island , May 30th, 20XX Redraw (Just the first image) , Cuddling, As Pals Do

Woodscouts: Camp Lilac is raided by the woodscouts and the campers are taken prisoner to be trained as scouts. The Lilac campgrounds are left completely abandoned. Ross and Lynn try to plan their escapes, but Lynn raises up in the ranks in the meantime. Ross is starting to suspect that maybe Lynn doesn't want to leave at all, and that the power is starting to go to his head. They fight and Lynn sends Ross on a mission with some other scouts to go to Camp Campbell. Drawings that happen around this time: Abandoned Camp , Ross and Pikeman

Camp Campbell: Between the episodes Scout's Dishonor and Camp Kool Kidz, Ross gets sent on his mission to Camp Campbell with troop 818 (Pikeman, Snake and Petrol). They play a game, winner gets a camper from the loser's camp. Unfortunately Cameron himself is visiting that day, so he takes the deal and somehow Camp Campbell actually wins. Since none of the Woodscouts really like Ross, they unanimously vote him out and leave him there. He of course wants to go and call for help to get the campers from Camp Lilac rescued, but Cameron doesn't want the authorities anywhere near camp, and especially doesn't want to be involved in a missing persons case, so he just doesn't let him. He convinces David and Gwen to go along with it so the camp doesn't get shut down, and they both agree because David loves the camp and Gwen needs the job. From this point forward, Ross is basically a prisoner at Camp Campbell, and David and Gwen actively stop him from escaping or calling the authorities. David does give him a First Day Camper button though, so at least there's that.

Seasons 1 and 2: Ross is being held at the camp against his will. He isn't particularly friendly to the campers or counselors and makes frequent escape attempts. He doesn't like participating in camp activities, but does anyways when he's told to because why would he cross the people holding him hostage. Since he's older than the other campers, David and Gwen sometimes have him help them set up/manage activities, but he's not happy about it. He ends up sort of befriending Ered because she's the closest person to his age that isn't actively kidnapping him. During all this time Lynn is still growing more powerful in the Woodscouts and has sort of a leadership position now. One of his big goals is to return Ross to the Woodscouts so they can go back to being friends. Drawings that happen during this time: I Don't Even Want To Be Here , Cult Camp Lore , Midnight Post-Work Doodles , Ross and Ered (Those last two could also be seasons 3+)

Seasons 3+: After Cameron is arrested, David and Gwen decide it's actually not super great morally to kidnap a teenager, so they give him an out. David gives him his phone back and tells him he can call whoever he wants now. Ross is excited, but then to his own horror he realizes he has grown emotionally attached and doesn't want to leave and get the camp shut down, which is really annoying. "I can't believe I got stockholm syndrome'd" and all that. He also justifies it to himself somewhat with the excuse that Lynn won't willingly leave the woodscouts yet and he doesn't want to go home without him. So from early season 3 onward, he's at Camp Campbell willingly and starts being more friendly and casual towards everyone else, and his main goal shifts from "escape camp" to "convince Lynn to leave the Woodscouts (and try to salvage this summer somewhat)". Now that he has the freedom to do what he wants, he finds out that as far as his parents know, he was never missing. The Sleepy Peak Police Department did put up missing posters, but they intentionally kept all information on the case contained to Sleepy Peak because they knew it was the Woodscouts and either were being paid off or just didn't want to go to the effort of taking them on. 20th Anniversary Special: Ross spends the entire "end of camp" segment worried about what he'll tell Lynn's parents. He never managed to convince Lynn to leave the Woodscouts, if anything he's just doubled down on it. At some point, David gives Ross a pamphlet for their upcoming Junior Counselor program for the summer of 20XX+1. Finally Ross decides to just explain everything to Lynn's parents when they come to pick him up, but to his surprise Lynn is already waiting there when he gets to the pick-up area. So they go home and have to act like it never happened, because as far as anyone else knows, it never did. But both of them have plans to return to Sleepy Peak the next year.

okay um. basic gist is that flansburgh is an astronomy student at some college in '92... doesnt really matter which. um. and late one night he ends up making brief contact with a constellation guy that, while he first connected him from sheer tired joking, he starts to like actually see (and hear the next night which is honestly freakier). the constellation is linnell obv though this is technically a little complicated

um. so he forms an insane connection with this constellation p much. initially theyre more curiousities to eachokther than actual FRIENDS but it very quickly becomes a friendship just. well honestly probably just bc flansburgh is bad at being professional....? its okay bro idbe freaking too

okay on the topic of flans seeing and hearing him its time to explain this umm. i dont wanna pull something lame and say "oh hes just imagining the constellation LOL" bc thats not whats happening but the constellation is vry much shaped by his psyche. ultimately the constellation is sort of just a sentient chunk of the stars but flansburghs mind has sort of given him an actual form??? if this makes sense??? to everyone ekse hes invisible p much but he and flans share an astral link of some sort. freakssss.... um. but p much hes very much real he just pulls from flansburghs concious to give more understandable form to himself.

flansburgh mental and social state very much ends up deteriorating over the course of the au sorta... its not that hes like. acting crazy he just stops waking up at normal times and talking to actual people less and less. he kind of yearns to be able to have real communication with the constellation outside of the sky and that. weighs on him. i wont bury the lead ill just say see the constellation is probably a song avout killing yourself.

again on their relationship it very quickly turns into something casual as opposed to any sort of REAL research. flansburgh had a lot of questions about what gives the constellation life and how he moves early on but apon being given the chance to bitch about going to colkege uhhh yeah. hes doing that. the constellation isnt completely clueless on human culture actually hes seen a lot of it but probably just doesnt understand certain finer aspects.

okay other thing to say. linnell is also just a real fucking guy in this au and i havent mentioned it until now bc it can get confusing. PRETTY MUCH. he abd flans were really good friends in highschool but insteah of ever going off and starting a band together they just drifted apart. the constellation looks and sounds a lot like linnell (to the most recent of his memory, likely a few mundanes tapes he was able to snag) but ultimately is not actually linked to him. even flansburgh doesnt really realize the similarity until he ends up finally seeing linnell again for a while on the train. he got a job working for one, and because its an overnight ride on obe of those old fashioned ones just because i think they look cool, they end up chatting a bit. feel the need to say flansburgh is a lot less shaken by this than he really should be... like even the constellation is asking about that guy that bears a strangely apt resemblance to him.

um. short of the au is this timeine ig

3. flans develops constellation friendship

4. flansburgh begins ditching certain more um. applicable stidies just to reasearch and understand this guy

5. as they continue to grow closer and more isolated flansburgh takes a long train ride back home, meeting linnell briefly and promicing to really get back to him this time (the mail address sits unused atop a stack of frantic sketches and half finished papers)

6. this guy starts like actually seriously yearning for the constellation to be a real human guy

7. through an offhanded comment of the constellations, flansburgh is lead to believe after around 11 months of contact with the constellation that there is infact a way to be with him in the sky which no is NOT a good deal but hes a little desperate and honestly living off college student money

other tidbits i cant fit other places hrm.... flansburgh was like incredibly social before all this. like he wasnt already a little introverted he straight up threw college parties. the constellation has communication with other parts of the sky and is not well liked for only having one fucking guy that gaf about him... um. to the stars constellations are honestly a huge thing because the expression of human expirience and guidance onto them is like a massive gesture of love and its part of why the constellation likes flans so much. becahse of this he ceases to exist in a major way after flansburgh is gone. and last but not least. robin MIGHT b here. im still thinking about it...

ive probably said it better before, but cant find the posts because this website has the worst search function known to all mankind -_- so i will give you some bullet points that will not be all inclusive and i invite anyone else who wants to chime in to do so!!

while the devs are definitely trying to streamline new player experience, the story is uh. a lot! the game has like, what, 11yrs worth of content behind it by now? there's a lot! depending on your playstyle and how you progress through the game, it might take you a while to really get into the meat of it -- or you might speedrun all the main storylines in like a month. there are lots of side quests and secondary objectives you can dick around with as much as you like, which some people find fun and some people find annoying. i liek it :) but it can definitely be a lot

there have been a lot of time limited events and hidden lore entries that make some things pretty inaccessible to new players. they seem to be trying to get better about this but its still not ideal. the wiki is not always right (afaik, theyre still hung up on whether or not albrecht and loid were ~canonically~ together, which is literally just blatantly textual) but it can be a good place to find summaries of shit you've missed out on. ive never watched a single one of those 'warframe lore explained' videos so i cannot vouch for any of their accuracy. i dont really pay attention to the subreddit or the official forums either, but those might have information too? idk

i personally find that some of the quests are thrown at you wayyyyy earlier than they should -- heart of deimos is one that i strongly believe should be way more lategame than it is, since it builds on a lot of stuff that you probably won't know by the time you get to it unless youve been paying veryvery close attention or have been going wiki spelunking. i wouldnt stress about it too much if something seems to make no fucking sense, though. most quests are replayable if you want to go back to something with fresh eyes or different context

i have probably already spoiled you on a lot of the lategame stuff and for that im sorry! lmao this isnt really a game where spoilers will ruin something per se, but since ive been playing the game since like 2013 i went into everything blind as it was released and i always had a huge blast when the game dropped a bombshell on us, so i try not to rob anyone of that experience if i can help it -- not a huge deal though depending on preference

there's a lot of grinding and farming. i personally dont find it overly tedious as there's a lot to do and it's easy to mix things up and take breaks, but for some people it's a huge turn off, so just a heads up i guess. you can technically bypass a lot of the grind by buying new frames or weapons off the market if you really want to spend your money on that, but there's some things that are locked behind a reputation grind and such. and honestly, you dont Need to spend money on anything but some cosmetics

trying to play through everything solo might be fun if you enjoy a challenge, but i personally find it to be unsustainable. you're going to want to find a decent sized clan and you're going to want to either find friends to play with or hit up the recruiting chat for backup.

you can make platinum pretty easy by farming prime parts or rare mods and other such tradeable things and selling them to other players. i dont bother with this because im bad at keeping up on video game economies and it never interested me. but it makes being a 100% f2p player a lot easier when you need to buy inventory slots and such

there are over 50 warframes and countless ways to mod each one, and an absurd amount of different weapons -- there isnt really any one playstyle thats 'better' than any other. i perosnally pay next to no attention to the meta outside of keeping in mind what damage types are effective against which enemies. some people really enjoy minmaxxing the hell out of their shit. you can kinda just do whatever

don't buy plat without having at least a 50% discount login bonus unless it is an absolute emergency. the discounts are random but ive found they happen often enough that i can just wait around for one to pop up and replenish if i'm low. or dont bother idk i cant tell you how to spend your money im not your dad

mute region chat for the sake of your own sanity. nobody in there is as funny as they think they are. moderation is better in there than it used to be but it's still a wasteland

the most important part of playing warframe is having fun and being yourself :)

i dont really like natlan at all and im kinda glad its ending

okay hold ur horses im not gonna say that it was completely garbage but just really weak at best. the playable characters are so boring with zero depth and the archon quest was a big wall of bad exposition and lots of bad writing decisions

everything good was dumped into the world quests and it makes me so sad that most players arent gonna pay attention to these stuff and there wouldnt be lots of fan content😞

dont get me wrong i love the ost, the scenery and the lore but everything else was really weak

the character designs were,, fine at best. i dont like how the cultural motifs were decreased to push the cool modern stuff in front. it feels so wrong esp when its with indigenous cultures. i dont mind having technology and i think most of it were done good in natlan esp in tollan omg it was so peak!!!!

but mavuikas motorbike, xilonens dj set w rollerblades and chascas big ass gun were,,, just done badly. "but xilonen made them!!" is xilonen a mastermind technological expert?? cuz these stuff needs to be made more if shes actually doing them and helping to fight w the abyss :/ i would mind it less if they werent in war and if it only was there for just plain fun

not to mention all the self insert and infantilization of the female characters *cough cough* CITLALI *cough* VARESA

i personally dont get self insert stuff and i can never insert myself in a media. but the celebration of traveler in the aftermath of the war was pure self insert. i dont know who thought it was a good idea. its giving that white savior trope😬😬

and that problem isnt just with natlan either. the same thing happened w mizukis sq too. i tought to myself "omg were gonna get abyss twin trauma!!" oh boy was i wrong. nothing. not even a little bit of crumbs. it was just self insert all along

oh citlali my pretty girl they have done you so wrong. imo shes the best in natlan with good representation and a bit of fanservice in design, characterized with lots of depth and not just one trope in mind and playing an important part in the story. but they have done her so bad. the uwu kyaa!! aesthetic is so not fitting. she was a fierce ful granny with a vulnurable side but she has been downgraded into cute tsundere💔 not even gonna talk abt varesa

now lets address the big elephant in the room, mavuika😬😬. everything about has been said already and no need to beat up the corpse so imma keep it short. yeah i dont like her. idk how to explain but she feels so,,, corporate. like shes not a character but a mascot, an advertisement instead. the way she was marketed and was put alongside her best 5 star support is so predatory. cmon genshin this is pure greed

not even gonna mention the male to female ratio 😕😕

im so sad that the characters with most depth and personality were sidelined into the world quests. the little one, och-kan and kukulkan were the real mvps of natlan not the traveler or mavuika. their story deserved to be on the main spotlight

non of the characters felt like they were actually a group of friends. they felt like coworkers instead. this esp shows w mualani and kinich. the fans show them as close friends/lovers but their canon dynamics werent explored even a little bit. all the good part of their relationship is completely fanon. they couldve been a nice pair but theyre just friends with non of the things that actually makes people friends but just tools for marketing

look at the cast of sumeru, theyre all friends and they actually feel like they have meaningful relationships. even faruzan, a latecomer to the party still felt like she belonged there. but the natlan cast is so sooo boring and have no stakes for their so called friendship. i can only call mualani and kachina actual friends

notice how mavuika/capitano became popular. it was because their relationship were much more unique than simply just "youre my friend and were friends because were friends" but hoyo decided to massacre their best pair for the sake of mavuikas spotlight 😕

citlali & ororons dynamic was cool and im expecting more stuff like this ((hopefully)) (coping)

ajaw & kinichs dynamic werent experimented much either even when they have the most unique one. it feels like wasted opportunity

everything interesting about the characters were sidelined into voicelines such as citlalis tzitzimimeh and kinichs crazy backstory

im just so dissapointed. i like the gameplay and the exploration but theyre not gonna make up for everything else. genshins main focus is on characters and they managed to mess it up somehow. the lore is strong as always but it doesnt feel connected to the archons quest and natlans marketed stuff. its like night and day.

i wish regretevator didnt have lore. i wish it was just a silly elevator game with fun characters . i feel like having it take a turn towards serious lore is weird , personally. i think its okay to give the characters a bit of background, and its okay to have some reason for why things are how they are , but i generally dislike the fact theres some deep dark Lore. it doesn't make the game unplayable , and for the most part, i can ignore/avoid it , when there isnt a character out of context trauma dumping to another guy or something. but i feel like the elevator minigame format just doesn't work for telling a serious story. it feels like out of nowhere, they got the idea for lore and just Shoved it in the game, rather than coming up with a story and building a world & characters around it. just imo feels very forced. also, i dislike the writing 👎

also , i feel like the characters saying vague and ominous things is supposed to get me invested in the story and the lore , but it honestly just pushes me away Because i do not wanna be playing Funny Avoid Giant Rainbow Teapots floor and then all of the sudden A character goes "i have nightmares about her every night i hate my Life im scared ."

again i Love regretevator gameplay and character wise , but the lore And also how they're going about it i do not enjoy all too much. But if theres any Regretevator lore experts in chat feel free to tell me why im wrong

Metroid dread has consumed my life for the past 2 days. Its now one of my favourite games ever made. There's a few problems with it mainly the world not being as memorable and easy to navigate as tallon IV in metroid prime but it doesn't matter given how amazing the game is.

I could rant about it for ages but I'll just talk about my 3 favourite things. Massive spoilers for merroid dread.

1. Whoever came up with the idea of letting Samus smack the shit out of your enemies and parrying them didn't get paid enough. Once you learn how to parry basic enemies basically become energy and missile dispensaries. Its so satisfying to parry something especially emmi's since its so hard to parry them. Its also extremely cathartic to parry a boss and start a cutscene where you can just pump missiles into them. Which conveniently leads into.

2. Spectacle. Most bossfights are so cool especially when you parry them and get a bunch of free shots in as samus in the curscene that plays does a bunch of cool flips or rides a massive monster and holds her blaster to their forehead to pump endless missiles into them while they writhe around trying to toss her off. The only thing that could make it better is if the music was more hype like metal gear rising revengeance (which is another game I have to get around to)

And how could I not mention the final bossfight too. The fight with Ravenbeak is so damn cool with it being like a dance with samus and him doing cool flips around each other. He summons black holes and stars and the climax as.... this actually goes with point 3 as well so we'll get to that.

3. Samus is portrayed so well in this game and conveys so much personality even though she says like one sentence in chozo near the middle of the game and at the end of the game she starts screaming madly.

When she meets kraid she is so clearly sick of him that as soon as he roars she shoots him in the mouth. Basically just saying "let's get this over with"

Her conversation with the friendly chozo in the middle of the game as we get a hell of a lore dump and the only words she says in the entire game being "don't worry I'll finish it" pretty sure i paraphrased that but it conveys so much. By having no other words in the game spoken by samus it gives these words so much power. She is legitimately concerned for this chozo and when he is killed she is genuinely sad but it has to wait. Because she has a job to do....and an annoying enemy to kill. (Seriously those chozo bots that jump you are so annoying. )

There's so much more I could say about her characterization in the game and that one scene alone but I wanna talk about the final fight again.

My jaw dropped when she was nearly dead as Ravenbeak choked the life out of her and then she just started screaming like a mad woman and drained the power from the flying fortress making it crash down onto the ground as she beat him up and continued to scream. It was so badass and yet so funny and I was just saying holy shit the entire time. Peak character.

And then the final bit against raven beak where he gets infected with the x parasite. And samus has her new metroid suit which looks freaky and organic and thats the point. She was pushed to this point and now she's basically an energy vampire. Also nothing quite like obliterating your foe with a massive fucking laser to the face.

Of course the cool escape sequence where I barely got back to my ship on time with like 10 seconds to spare. (BTW samus keeps hitting the self destruct button every planet has for some reason. Isnt this like the 6th planet she's destroyed? Why do they keep having to be destroyed and by what?)

Samus gets control of her metroid powers again before escaping and this actually brings me to a point i like about the game. It doesn't reveal there was actually more metroids because they're the series namesake. They stay extinct. All except for samus. And its revealed that metroid means ultimate warrior in chozo. So samus is the metroid now in all meanings of the word. She had metroid dna and is the ultimate warrior of the chozo. Taking the name if the franchise for herself. So next time your grandma sees you playing metroid and points to samus saying "that man's metroid isn't he?" She's half right now.

Anyway my three simple points ballooned way out of my control. Go play metroid dread. Go play every metroid game you can. Which isn't much if you only have a switch but the two metroid games it has are peak.

this is based on a real thing that happened between me and my skater but…

after foxy first meets pope, she’s totally enamored with him. she likes that he can info dump for hours without calling it “info dumping” bc he’s too old to know what that is. he’s always mentioning some art movement or trend that was popular when he was a teenager, and when foxy does the math, she realizes she was only 5 when pope was involved with it.

pope definitely knows she has a bit of a crush on him, bc she’s always coming around the skate park even tho her ass does NOT skate. he probably never had a girlfriend bc he was doing maniac shit with his friends or focused on skating, but he’s always had girls crawling all over him. i think he avoids outright telling her his age bc he’s scared she’ll get weirded out. he knows she’s only just hit her early twenties bc she plays roblox 😭😭😭

they hang out late into the night, pope bringing her to secret skate spots and where the old heads like to do graffiti. he’s talking about the first tag he used when foxy outright asks him how old he is, where he softly stutters “oh, i’m thirty two” and shyly looks away where her eyes turn into hearts

popes such a loserrrrrrr i love this like. you can just tell hes older but he's in a sort of odd arrested development thats why hes always hanging around the teens and 20 yr olds bc they think hes cool and he is in a way? but he'd be much cooler if he stayed with people his age but he never does anything weird so ppl are chill with him!!! its just foxy had her radar on and a weird girl is always gonna attach herself to the older guy who lets her go on and on about fnaf and its ever changing lore that shes kept up with since middle school.

but its def during that late night hang out after theyve gone through like 2 cases of beers does he finally lets it slip that hes 32 and he's worried it'll gross her out and he goes home that night worried but she comes back the next day looking like she really put effort into how she looked....its weird isnt it?

MISC SKY LORE POST

Note: This isn't stuff that I necessarily believe is canon, more so shit I've made up for my ocs and comic. I like playing with canon. Long post ahead

Sky kids earn their names. A sky kid isnt born with a name and typically doesnt earn one until at least some time after their first ascension. As such, moths don't have names (me explaining away why my moth ocs don't have actual names lol). Names can be earnt due to actions, behaviour, or circumstance. Names earned can either be granted by sky kids (including the sky kid earning the name) or spirits.

Sky kids forms are malleable, and change over time to be in accordance with how a Sky kid views themself. A sky kid who likens themself to a wild animal may grow horns, one who takes pride in being a moth may grow antennae. If a sky kid feels themself more mature than others they may grow taller, and vice versa. Going to Eden halts these changes. Eden sets your form in place, leaving it unchanging for a while.

Regarding Eden. After rebirth, a sky kid's form is locked in place for a while. Leaving them unaging, and mostly unchanging. Small things like hair growth will still happen, but larger changes (height, mental age, physical age, things like horns) will not happen. A sky kid who does not go to Eden very often may slowly start to grow up at a rate faster than a sky kid who does. And a sky kid who does not go to Eden at all will grow up, and eventually die, and rejoin the cycle with no memories.

Winged light is part memory, part soul. You are granted power when you remember who you are, who you used to be, and when you remember the cycle. You are your light and your light is everything. After being reborn from Eden, moths and young sky kids may find themselves not remembering much at all, while more established sky kids have a better grasp on their memories, and may only find themselves a little big foggy after Eden.

After dying in Eden, you are only reborn after another sky kid comes through and participates in the cycle, granting YOU a winged light. This can take a while in universe, as someone needs to get to you and grant you a winged light. (Same goes for if you die outside of Eden, a sky kid gotta come through and grant you that pity light)

Guides are simple people who have stepped up to a task to... Well guide someone through something. Even something as small as "help us with this theatre play". Guides DO have spirit names, but often-times, after being recognised as a guide, go by their Guide names. There are exceptions (Forgetful Storyteller, and Hopeful Steward come to mind (Yes Storyteller is a guide they're the Harmony Hall guide)) but typically being considered as a Guide is an achievement to be proud of, so Guides like to use their Guide names. There is no fundamental difference between a Guide and a regular Spirit.

Spirits don't age, and don't need to eat to survive. Sky kid's age slower thanks to eden, and don't need to eat either (but do need a steady source of light). Both very much appreciate eating food though.

When getting an item from a spirit, it's not some sort of magical "hey now you can have my hair/mask/clothes". That spirit goes out of their way to make/get a replica of their mask/clothes for the sky kid in question, or teaches them how to style their hair. This is because getting an item isn't a transaction, it's a gift, a sign of friendship.

Candles forged by sky kids are valued highly by spirits because they're persistent sources of Light with a capital L, they have short burn times but can be used by spirits in place of a sky kid's internal light source. Candles are also valued by sky kids too, but thats more a respect of the craftsmanship and appreciation of the gift than anything inherent to the candles.

I GOTCHUUUU. Heres the entire TalBin Lore. INSANELY LONG POST WARNING LMAOOO. Also for future reference, anything Talbin related that isnt directly relevant to Creepedverse/Farnbury plot shit should be asked on my main account @necroromantics so we dont flood the Creepedverse account with irrelevant stuff

-They met in high school (they were 16yrs old), in a shitty small town in North Dakota. They first encountered each other in the office in the first week of school; Tobin was in trouble for talking back to a teacher, and Tali was there for a course change. The two stubborn piece of shit trashy kids just sat there glaring at each other cuz neither of them knew how to back down LMAO

-Then they found out they shared an English class. Last period. They sat right next to each other.

-I dont know if yall know this, but Tobin was practically illiterate back in high school, due to him being in and out of school his entire life he was very behind on education. He was horrible at even basic math, spelling, reading. So he struggled a LOT in his English class to the point he dropped out again, only to go back a month later after his grandma pushed him, and told him to find a tutor

-He noticed early on that despite being countrygirl trailer trash, loud-mouthed and rude, Tali was pretty well-read. She kept to herself a lot, didnt really have any friends or got on with anyone, so it was mostly the grades she got back that made Tobin decide she was gonna be his tutor. Plus, he already had an interest in the challenge of befriending her anyways

-It took him a fuck ton of harassment and being an all around annoying nuisance in order to finally get Tali to cave and agree to tutor him. At her place after school every Wednesday, he has to pay up in cigarettes and $20 first. This arrangement of theirs was how they got to know each other properly in the first place

-At first it was Tali and Tobin sitting across this old wooden dining room table of hers, her father worked on the road so he was never home. She started off just getting frustrated with Tobins arguing and stupidity, theyd sorta just bicker and fight with each other over him not focusing, or listening, or understanding. He didn't know half the shit that was being asked of him, and he didn't know how to take it seriously

-It was when he talked back to her asking how the fuck he doesn't know what "coincidence" meant, he told her "Fuck I dunno, I was barely in school", and it finally clicked for Tali that he wasnt stupid, he really wasn't, he just had a bad start.

-So she went to the library and picked out low reading level books, and next Wednesday, she had him pick one out, and they read together. After that, Tali would start to really listen to the way that boy talked about things, like taking apart bikes and putting them back together, or the logistics of buying/weighing/flipping weed for profit, street smarts, people smarts

-And they started arguing less, and laughing together more. Theyd talk to each other in the hallways, and even had each others numbers. They became friends, though neither of them would admit it.

-Soon, Tobin would start coming over on days other than Wednesday, just for a place to crash. He never really wanted to be home, and Tali never really asked him why. She didn't mind having him over, in all honesty she started to enjoy it, and Tobin would always consider her place a safe space of sorts, someone he could rely on, somewhere to get away from shit.

-Eventually, he started spending the night there too whenever he got kicked out, or ran away. Tali would always let him in. Eventually, she trusted him enough to sleep in her bed, after he got her home after a party they drank too much at. Now for context, in highschool, Tali had a false reputation of being an absolute whore. Like rumours from girls who hated her, or guys she'd hurt the ego of, saying she'd sleep around, or that she was easy, or that she'd get drunk and sleep with a bunch of guys. Easy humiliation, and neither Tali nor Tobin listened to the rumours. So knowing that this boy, who she almost considered her best friend, would go out of his way to make sure she got home safe, the same way she'd make sure he'd get away from his home safe. She really did start to trust him, and he never broke it, and he trusted her too

-Tobin liked Tali a lot, sure, but he was never interested in anything more. Partially because he knew if he caught feelings for a girl who threatened him if he ever caught feelings, itd be over. He was perfectly fine keeping shit strictly platonic, even when they layed together, or when they started to hold hands.

-Even when she asked him if he's ever kissed someone before, and he said no, and she asked him if he wanted to. And he said no.... LMAO. He thought it was a test or something. He was sitting on her bed like FUUUUUCKFUCCK but its ok Tobin grew a pair and kissed her and they still kept things... Platonic... But... Theyd very much treat each other like a couple yknow. But they were both waaayy too prideful to admit it was anything beyond just being close friends

-But eventually Tobin would start coming to her place drunk, high, or both, more often than not. He'd show up every Wednesday like always, but he'd end up falling asleep at the table, or be so fucked up with booze and pills that he was practically unresponsive anyways. For awhile, Tali didn't care to, or want to, be on his ass about it. She let him sleep, she let him come to her whenever he needed

-It became a problem when they started really, genuinely fighting. They would have petty arguments or banter or piss each other off all the time, but they never actually fought in ways that hurt that much. Tali would say things that hurt his ego, and Tobin would try to tear her down. Theyd start yelling at each other, insulting each other. They were fucked up kids who lived fucked up lives going through fucked up things. And all they really knew was how to hurt each other, and then pretend like nothing happened cuz they couldnt lose each other no matter how hard they tried

-Tali eventually banned Tobin from coming around her when he was fucked up, and he listened. He came around a lot less, even missing Wednesday tutor nights sometimes, but he never fully left yknow. On the days he'd show up at school, he'd be trying to make up to Tali for pissing her off last night, or bugging her to get her to laugh at one of his shitty jokes. And she'd let him in every time. In all honesty, she couldn't ever really truly hate him

-It was Tobin who realized he caught feelings first, they were sitting on her bed and she laughed and water came out of her nose, and she laughed harder, and Tobin couldnt even laugh too cuz he was just sitting there feeling that heavy fondness in his chest, he couldnt do anything but stare at her and smile at how beautiful she was. And the moment the word "love" came into his head he was immediately like OH FUCK. It was something he immediately shoved alllll the fucking way down. He couldnt imagine her ever actually liking him back, or agreeing to be his. Tali was always very very vocal about her independence, how she would never be anyones but hers, how she hated guys, she hated the idea of romance, she hated cliches. And he was fine with that, he was fine with just being her best friend.

-Tali ended up realizing she had feelings for him after the most torturous month or so of him pulling away from her, and getting heavy into drugs/drinking again. He ended up getting into a fight with his dad, and he was fucked up on pills again, but he stumbled to her place at night, he didnt know where else to go. Despite her rules, she let him in. And he didnt fight, or argue, she just let him wash up, and climb into bed with her. Tali realized that she really would do anything for him, and just how much she cared for him. She wanted him to always choose to come to her, she wanted to listen to him ramble, and she liked him sober more than anything

-It was Tobin who said "I love you" first. And Tali slapped the shit out of him LMAOOO Cuz they were having a really bad fight and he said it sorta as a last ditch effort and she was like Do NOT fuckin' say that to me!!!! And he was like FUCK WHATEVER And then he kept going. And Tali realized like Oh shit he actually loves me hes not just fucking with me Lmao. Yada yada they hugged and made up

-They started dating about a year after they met, and it was literally a result of Tobin harassing her into saying yes. He was so fucking annoying about it Tali was just like FUCK FINE! WHATEVER! And their first date was sparring. They just met up. And beat the fuck outta each other. Cuz Tobin knew she hated cliches and loved MMA so fuck it why not

-Then about half a year after they started dating, Tali called Tobin to tell him she accidentally killed her brother. So Tobin did the logical thing. And blew his dads brains out with a shotgun. And they took Tali's dads truck and ditched town. They were 17 at this point, almost 18.

-They ended up in Louisiana after this, crashing in motels and shelters or really wherever. Literally all they had left was each other, and Tobin made a promise he'd never leave Tali. It was them against the world. They got promise rings around this period too, Tobin has the sun, Tali has the moon. Tali also got her snakebite piercings here too

-Eventually Tobin got enough cash selling drugs, and eventually guns/things he stole/etc, and Tali would job hop trying to make whatever she could to get by. They had to stay on the downlow as much as possible though. But they got a cheap, sketchy, small apartment together and lived in the city for awhile. This is when they went from being dumb kids with stupid issues, to adults with really heavy shit on their plates

-But it was always them together. They'd have really fucking brutal fights, even worse than in high school. Theyd scream so loud at each other, Tali would storm out, Tobin would break shit, Tali would throw plates at him. They got to a point where it was almost always fighting, breaking up, making up, tearing each other down, hurting each other. Tobin got really involved with the drug/crime scene in the city, befriending this other junkie named Skinner. They were real close for awhile, and Skinner practically taught Tobin all the ropes of arms and narcotics dealing. Tobin got into serious shit, and was making serious money

-And it put a serious strain on his relationship with Tali, especially when he started to get more and more afraid of committing to her. And so they broke up, and Tali kicked Tobin out, and he stayed with Skinner, and it just wasnt them against the world anymore. And my god did it hurt

-They completely cut contact, this time they were both sure they finally were done for good. Tobin wouldnt be sober for even a day, always drinking or getting high, fucking around with some girl he knew cuz they both wanted a rebound, but never being able to take it seriously or really do anything cuz god he just missed Tali so much, and he learned so quickly that nobody compares

-Tali spent her time waitressing at a small diner she was pretty sure was a laundering scheme but didnt give a fuck to think about it. She didnt talk to anyone, she just held her breath every day trying not to grieve. And she'd try not to break into tears at night when she realized her boy wouldnt come home and crawl into bed with her. She missed him so much, every day, for that month and a bit.

-And then Tobin found himself in some sketchy apartment, so fucked up on downers he couldn't even think, and he didnt even realize that Skinner had overdosed and died right there by him. He didnt call 911 in time, and when the paramedics arrived, he called the one person he knew he could rely on. Tobin was even too fucked up to realize what he had done, until he saw Tali pull up to the curb he was sitting on, and get out of the car, and sat next to him

-The ride back to their apartment was quiet. Everything for Tobin was slow, buzzing, and silent. And Tali was just happy he was safe. She got him into the house, and he didnt say a word as he laid down with her in bed, and she kissed the top of his head, and he quietly muttered that he loved her, and he missed her, and he needed her. And she whispered that she loved and missed him too, and they fell asleep.

-She let him sleep in that morning and when he woke up he didnt tell her what happened, and she didnt ask. He just hugged her, and she hugged him back. And from that point on they got back together and Tobin cut back on his drug use, and they agreed to ditch the city and start fresh somewhere else

-During that transition period from Louisiana and to Farnbury, about a month or so, Tobin and Tali were very dedicated to making it work between them. They knew just how fucking badly it hurt when they left, they knew how good it felt to be back together, they knew that nobody else compared, that it was always just going to be them. They were best friends, partners in crime, it was them against the world. Theyd be patient with each other, they'd communicate, theyd love each other without any restraint. Tobin would work so hard to make sure his girl knew she was loved, to make sure she knew he'd always come home to her when he went out. And Tali would always defend him, have his back, be there when the world would turn its back on him.

-They werent those dumb reckless kids that were best friends in highschool anymore, but they still had each other. And they would for the rest of their lives. Happily ever after fr.

I know team snagem isnt mostly part of your blog but i'd like to hear about your take on gonzap and what relationships you'd think he'd have with members of team cipher 🫎🌸

Heyy! Thanks for the ask, I do always love to ramble about my takes when people trigger my unskippable dialogue >:D

(Oh and yes, that was me with the bouquet. Ehehe. Glad you liked it, I just loved the idea and had to send one💜)

So! My man Gonzap. I don't have the most extensive lore for him specifically, but I have some ideas and some plot stuff he's involved in. I'll try to write it out without dumping too many unnecessary details regarding the history of the Orrean mob within the last century in general xd

Basically, in my verse, Gonzap is an old school gangster and mob boss. In that sense, he's similar to Evice out of all people. Unlike him, however, Gonzap didn't come from a rich, prestigious family or anything; he came, like many if not most children in Orre, from a not-so-great background. Barely scraping by, if not outright poor. So, again very much like many Orreans back then and still today, young Gonzap didn't have the kind of opportunity that would allow him to create a better life for himself, as a trainer or otherwise - at least not in the legal world. The Orrean crime scene is the main perspective for many young people who either want more or desperately need money.

Some miscellaneous Gonzap takes include that, while he's all rough and scary and loud on the outside, he does have a tiny, hidden soft side; said side of him still holds Wes dear, despite everything. I also recently considered this semi-serious headcanon that Gonzap's mom lives in Agate Village. She knows full well what kind of work her son does, but is on board because it's just so normalized in Orre. My good friend @desertsportshipping suggested it could be the old lady with the Mightyena which would be hilarious.

Anyway, back to the serious business: Nowadays, the main "player" in the scene and the (by far) most powerful faction is Cipher. Back in Gonzap's youth, however, things looked different: Many gangs existed, with Cipher being just one of many (certainly among the better and stronger ones, but not in a position of hegemony... yet). Gonzap was too proud to join any other gang and, as we all know, has a lot of faith in his own strength, so he founded his own: Team Snagem. They dealt in theft and illegal Pokémon trade, much like today. Thanks to his strength, grit, abilities as a trainer and not being stupid either, Gonzap made a name for himself, amassed followers and they all got by just fine.

Unfortunately for him, things eventually changed when Cipher decided they had gathered enough resources of their own and now want to be a big, fancy crime syndicate and take over the entire region. What followed is now known as the Orrean Gang Wars, though those who know the deep lore behind the scenes also call it the Second Cipher Purge. The first was more or less just Greevil busting unions for reasons that are beyond the scope of this post, and the second was all about dealing with the other Orrean gangs - either force them to cooperate or wipe them out.

This is how Gonzap met a young Nascour (who technically wasn't even of age yet, but Evice had been training him so he could do all the killing and fighting in the streets for him while he, Evice, maintained the Es Cade disguise). Needless to say, Gonzap was a) pissed off by the mere suggestion that he should submit to another gang and b) not impressed by some teenager who looks like a creepy porcelain doll and likes wearing skirts telling him to surrender or die. And so Gonzap told Nascour to go fuck himself and that turned out to be a big mistake.

I imagine there was at least one big, if not several fights between Team Snagem and Cipher, and even if Snagem hadn't already been at a disadvantage due to Cipher's apparently crazy resources, they were losing in numbers. My guess is that Gonzap lost about a third to half of his people and ended up having to flee, getting chased across the desert until he learned the hard way that Nascour's mastery of psychic types also lends itself to tracking people down.

The "offer" was repeated, and this time Gonzap accepted to save his people and himself. Team Snagem was allowed to survive for the small price of doing Cipher's dirty work from then on; and this is why Gonzap calls Nascour "master" and does his bidding. He's not risking the angry ribbons coming after him again - until the events of XD, it seems, at which point he assumes Nascour is out of the picture. Sadly, Gonzap will be wrong again as far as my verse is concerned, and he better think of a good excuse why he was caught talking about wrecking Cipher. He isn't fond of them, of course, and deep down he wants revenge, but this one time he's simply too scared (and for good reasons).

As for the other Cipher members, Gonzap doesn't have too much to do with them, so his opinions depend a lot on whether they're part of the Orrean criminal scene and what their reputations are. I'll just list my spontaneous thoughts on that (never considered this much before x)):

𖦏 Venus: By the time of the Orrean Gang Wars, my Venus had already succeeded Agnol as the "de facto ruler" of The Under (more on that here) and was with Cipher. If Gonzap had any dealings down in The Under, he would've already known not to mess with her and he definitely knows now that she may or may not have been involved in nearly destroying Team Snagem. Similar to Nascour, he may not exactly like her, but fears her.

𖦏 Ein: In my verse, Ein is neither Orrean nor a criminal by trade, so to Gonzap he's "just some foreigner". Since I doubt Gonzap is a man who has the patience for endless scientific yapping and experimenting, he most likely has zero respect for Ein, but with Ein being Ein the feeling is mutual. It may be that Gonzap will be forced to change his mind if he ever has to find out just how mean Ein can be, but for now that's how things are.

𖦏 Dakim: Dakim was never too deep into the Orrean crime scene before he joined Cipher (more Nascour shenanigans, though a far more amicable test of strength), but is about as Orrean as they come. Maybe he and Gonzap crossed paths a few times while engaging in illegal street battles to make some money. I would say that Gonzap has some respect for Dakim, hell, I could even see them getting along if the circumstances were a bit different (with Gonzap holding a grudge for understandable reasons, whereas Dakim is genuinely loyal to Nascour who can do no wrong in his eyes),

𖦏 Miror B.: He's very much from the same scene as Gonzap, but I doubt Gonzap is much into dancing. He probably sees Miror as a bit of an "odd" rival, since they both enjoy stealing a Pokémon here and there, but never took him seriously. This might have changed slightly once Miror became a Cipher Admin and briefly took over Pyrite Town, but I feel like Gonzap is a decent-ish judge of character when it comes to other criminals and his pride doesn't get in the way, and so he may have caught on to the fact that Miror is not really serious about the whole Cipher thing and still just wants to dance.

𖦏 Evice: Evice has likely never dealt with Gonzap personally and considers himself above that; though all arrogance aside, he also has to maintain his disguise. I feel that Gonzap might actually know that Nascour is acting as a "decoy boss" on someone else's behalf and even that it's Evice or have some idea at least, but I doubt he was properly informed.

As far as the XD Admins are concerned, I think Gonzap doesn't know them well, if at all, due to breaking away from Cipher, but I would say:

𖦏 Gorigan: Gonzap may have met him before, but Gorigan was never really involved in the crime scene either; he worked as a mechanic for Greevil's mining company and later got transferred. They could have a fun night out under different circumstances, but with Cipher in the picture... yeah.

𖦏 Snattle: I doubt any Orrean criminal likes politicians, and Gonzap would be no exception. He would attempt to punch Snattle and then probably end up with his hideout getting blown up again by explosion strats, which... yeah. They're not getting along for sure.

𖦏 Lovrina: Similar to how things are with Ein, though Gonzap would ironically respect her more since she's not some fancy-pants nerd from university; in my verse, she actually has a very similar background as him.

𖦏 Ardos & Eldes: Gonzap probably hates rich kids too and wouldn't even consider them "proper criminals", since they don't do the dirty work and just hang out with their father all day. In my verse, it's currently Ardos who later snitches informs Nascour about Gonzap's "betrayal", sooo... that's fun :)

𖦏 Greevil: Gonzap would like to be best friends with Greevil's credit card actually. Jokes aside, I think Gonzap may or may not even know Greevil exists, and if he does have some idea, he probably doesn't have much respect for some rich guy who got in on a crime syndicate.

hello once again, it's 🕊️ anon (aka anon with shitty rich friend) again

im so sorry for dumping all of this lore on you u this way, u dont have to reply to it

but there was so much more controversy when they got together. so basically it wasnt just me liking the guy. the guy (lets call him T)'s childhood best friend (lets call him M) was basically in love with the girl (lets call her S). M liked S for a whole year (S and T didnt even know each other that well) and when M confessed, S rejected and it was a pretty messy rejection (I dont know the details). a few months after that T and S started talking secretively and only a few people knew about this. so them getting together broke the lifelong friendship between T and M.

Now i am pretty good friends with M, but i hadnt ever told him that i liked T. recently after everything went down, i met up with him and told him that i used to like T. and this is how the convo went:

me: so i used to like T

him: i know

me: fym you know??

him: i could tell

me: since when?

him: 10th grade

me: right. does he know?

him: yes, we talked about it back then

me: so what did he say?

him: that youre not his type

me: ah okay fair

i basically put on my most nonchalant attitude to hide the fact that i was tweaking inside. now the fact that he knew got me thinking two things:

1. he knew i liked him during all the time i 'subtly' tried to get close to him and he shut me out in the driest way possible. im gonna curl up in a hole and wither into nonexistence.

2. he knew he had the opportunity to get over S before he fell hard simply by giving me a chance. but he chose to ruin his lifelong friendship then even consider being with me??

sorry im rambling but im 18 and ive never been liked or pursued by anyone and im the only one in my friendgroup with less than 0 experience which always makes me wonder if theres something wrong with me. there are moments where i see the good in me, but the negative thoughts almost always seem to outweigh the positive ones and the whole situation only seemed to fuel them and im once again so sorry for yapping so much.

the way this isnt even all because this whole situation caused me to almost lose my bestest friend too but thats a story for another day (maybe)

The idea that you're "unlikeable" comes to you, because in this instance, you were rejected by 100% of the people you had feelings for. Even though that was simply one person, to your brain, it feels like you would be undesirable to the whole world, because that one person- 100%- of the ones you wanted, weren't into you.

18 years old is also quite genuinely no age. I'd be concerned if you had been 'pursued' by loads of potential suitors. Most 18 year olds are, through no fault of their own and in no way an insult, so worried about themselves and where they fit in the world and how they come across to people, that they struggle to relax enough to really enjoy their romantic relationships without all the extraneous pressures anyway.

Tone down of the self loathing and work on the self reflection instead. Take a deep breath and a step back, and look at your perceived flaws objectively; what could you do to improve them? How can you work on making the best parts of you dominant? Being happier with and more confident in your own character is so much more important than being in a relationship.

It is FUCKING ROUGH and mortifying to have to reframe your memories of trying to get close to this guy, with the new information that he always knew and was rejecting you the whole time, adding context you never had. This will probably be one of those memories that makes you cringe at 25 years old, 35 years old, 55 years old...you get the point. You did nothing wrong; it's just one of those things. I'm sorry.

I fully, fully appreciate the yearning for love. It will come, really.

It is important, and perhaps difficult to accept thoughts, that it likely wasn't Her OR You. It does, truthfully, sound like he did not consider you an option at this point, for whatever reason; it certainly sounds so based on what your mutual friend says. So the anger of "he chose xxx over ME?!" is likely uncalled for, even though it's bloody hard being rejected.

I'm sorry your shitty friend went for your other shitty friend instead. They've got a lot of growing and learning to do as well.

And stop hating yourself. You're not detestable, like seem to think you are.

Lore dump in coming:

TW: mentions of R/pe and S/xual Assault

Wysteria in the gender bend au is a bit different than my William; serial killer wise. Just like my au of William- Wysteria was horrible abused as a child but particularly by her father. Got pregnant at 10 by her father's assault, grew up in a bad environment, later by 15 she kills her father (just like William kills his mother). However, unlike William- this murder was a form of self defense that got out of hand and after Wysteria saw what she had done she left everything behind taking her little sister Vivi(Vince who is William's brother in my main au)- fleeing hoping to get a better life, especially without the help of Rachelle (Richard). There isnt much known how she graduated high school or how she got into college but she does pretty well- making money on a part time job and taking care of Vivi...despite jumping place to place or living in a car half of the time (Unlike William). Eventually Wysteria meets Helen(Henry) and they develope a friendship which then leads into a romantic relationship where they love each other dearly and Wysteria confesses her fears about her past and only tells bits and pieces about what her father did to her- opposite to what William does in the main au.

Eventually the break up happens and Helen and Wysteria date and marry men instead despite wanting to keep their romantic feelings going. Then Helen is with Emmett(Emilie) and they have Charlie(..Charlie) and Samantha(Samuel).

Wysteria in this au doesn't kill Sebastian(which would be Sarah, William's first wife), though- again unlike William who kills Sarah out of a psychosis attack. So Michelle(Michael) has every right in the world to meet her biological father.

Then Wysteria meets Claud(Clementine) and their relationship starts off fine before the marriage, but after their vows have been said their relationship becomes very abusive and Claud assaults Wysteria in which she has Eugene(Elizabeth) while at the same time Vivi who was only 14- was assaulted and pregnant at the same time.

Wysteria attempted to over dose on her medication during her pregnancy with Eugene as to miscarry since she successfully made Vivi miscarry with the same medication because there was no other way- Abortion wasnt legal in their state and town.

However...Wysteria did end up hoing into labor- giving birth to Eugene really early on instead due to her medications...and so she got put in a hospital after attempting to overdose.

Too lazy to write more but basically Laurence (Lauren) and Wysteria's relationship is very similar to the relationship Wysteria had with Sebastian which they had a kid and seperated on equal agreement and wasnt abusive.

eris has a full ref sheet cuz i had to do some stuff with her for an assignment, but more art of the rest of them is coming eventually :PP

the general vibe is that they go to hawthorne academy, a school for witches and stuff

the school is broken up into 3 covens based on different aspects of education (the point is that. each coven specializes in a different thing that would help prepare them for the trials of virtue. which is just. a silly lore thing)

the covens are hecate, minerva and mars. hecate focuses on magic, minerva focuses on like, academics, and mars focuses on agility (those each correspond to one trial)

the whole group is like,, all of the first years in the coven of mars. because hawthorne is kinda regarded as. the Good school for magic, the coven focusing on agility really lacks the attention it deserves, leading to it being the coven for people the school doesnt want to deal with

this is reflected through each character,, dani has adhd and anxiety and isnt great with like, conventional learning and things. she is pretty good at magic but her special talent isnt,, all that special. (every character has their own magic they specialize in that kind of. determines their capabilities and potential in the eyes of the school and society) eris has a really dangerous talent so she straight up, isnt allowed to use magic most of the time (not that she cares about following the rules), nettle is nonverbal and uses asl, and tends to be pretty shy because like no one at the school understands it, kitty is physically disabled and mostly interacts with the non magic town nearby because they have much more,, support for people with disabilities. and coriander kind of acts as the unnofficial leader of the group, being the only one who is actually good at agility, and kind of the best fitting member of the coven

all this kind of leads to pretty strained relationships,,, with dani and eris as one pair, and ian and nettle as the other, and kitty usually being treated as an outsider in most situations

heres more detailed info on each character:

dani (she/her) -outwardly very passionate and energetic -fills the red role of her and eris' red and blue duo -tries to bury her issues as deep down as possible -was bullied a lot as a kid, got called "shrimp" and its become more of an affectionate nickname within the group -roommates with eris and catalina -has a magpie familiar named pip :) -magic talent is smoke, abilities are mostly like, warmign things (not enough for a full on fire) creating clouds of smoke and dispelling smoke from fires -tends to run pretty warm because of her talent

eris (they/she) -outwardly quiet and reserved -the stoic one of the friend group -good at keeping secrets, and believe me, they have a lot -fills the blue role of the duo -roommates with dani and kitty -familiar is a vampire bat named six (hes a polydactyl and has 6 toes on each foot) -special talent is blood, not allowed to use it (they do it anyway, especially if someone hurts her friends)

coriander/ian (any, but prefers he/she) -trying her best to keep it together -always helping other people but far too busy to really be considered the therapist friend -fills the purple role in the group -he knows asl!! at least a little better than the rest of the group (dani, eris and kitty try their best but their best is like, finger spelling) -usually ends up being a translator for nettle, without him she tends to get overlooked by other students and staff -roommates with nettle -has a jewel beetle as a familiar -talent is shimmer, pretty much only useful for making things sparkly or very minor illusions (think like. turning a plain surface into like, reflective/mirror like)

nettle (she/her) -outwardly quiet and shy, more because of her situation rather than by choice -the quiet nerd of the group, fills the green role -familiar is an atlantic sea nettle (she has a tank in her room for it, but can make a bubble of water for it to float in and follow her if necessary) -talent is current, this applies to water currents and wind :)

catalina/kitty (she/her) -peppy and optimistic -the yellow/pink one of the group -shes part of the group mostly because shes a first year in mars, so shes got the vibe where shes a friend in the group but not really friends with any one person in particular (me in middle school fr) -technically roommates with eris and dani but she doesnt spend much time at hawthorne outside of class -kinda forced to interact with non magic people cuz she needs mobility aids and witches um. just magic all their problems away -closer with the people in the non magic town (called cecils crown) so she feels more at home there than in the witchs town (called eclipse) -shes a catgirl. thats her talent. she has cat ears. and a tail. and pointy teeth -familiar is a mothh :3

Idea no xxxx for my miraculous rewrite that I’ll never write

I wish so bad that Master Fu was more than this stereotype of asian mystical ancient power man and its annoys me to no end. You’re telling me you have this 200 yr old man who managed to destroy the order of the miraculous as a child, single handedly guarded the miraculous since then and then randomly decided to endanger a bunch of children and you’re not gonna like fully flesh him out? No. I think not.

There’s 2 ways I’d go about rewriting his plot line. 1- make him a great guardian to marinette and adrien. When adrien finds out his father’s gabriel agreste either i’d have master fu adopting him bc i want my man adrien to get to know the lore like he deserves, or just acts as the father figure he’s been so desperately needing. For marinette, we already know in the show that she trusts him so i’d develop their relationship more from a cultural standpoint bc we need to change marinette’s attitude towards her chinese half ok. I think it’d be great if she had to start learning mardarin or something for the guardian duties because even though the book’s written in the guardian code maybe some scripts or stuff r written in mardarin and then they can have cute bonding moments. Also this would lead to marinette’s motivations to go to china for the special to not be so actually disgusting (jeremy why would you make your main character half chinese when you hold so much racial bias against chinese people actually get a life). Basically option one would be found family trope.

The other way I would explore him would be to big up the whole reckless endangerment thing. Like yes maybe there’s some mystical reason as to why master fu had to chose 14 yr old in my first option, but isnt it just so much more fun if i make marinette trust this unreliable adult just for him to undergo the whole memory loss thing much earlier on when she doesnt have anywhere near enough knowledge or experience and just give her trauma. Like make her aspire to be like him despite his terrible teaching methods and also not let her know of master fu’s failings until way after he loses his memories, so she finds out from the other guardian guy and she’s like wait this old man didnt really think i was special he was probs just and old geezer who dumped way too much onto me. Idk something about imperfect adults that r trying their best but still end up falling short is so poetic to me.
