I had a fever dream where Shen Yuan transmigrated as Shen Qingqiu's son or something, and for some reason when Binghe arrives at the QJP, Shen Yuan was VERY confused because, where is the Protagonist and who is that cute little girl? Is he in some kind of AU where Luo Binghe is a woman?

And he becomes blatantly protective of his little shimei, he provides her with food and new cultivation manuals and spends all night teaching her to read and write, secretly from his annoying villainous scumbag father.

The problem is that Luo Binghe is not a girl, he is just pretty, but Shen Yuan (whose only visual image of Binghe is the distorted fanarts to fit the stallion protagonist standard) doesn't believe Binghe could be so cute (something like, his mental image of Liu Qingge vs how he is). However!!! Luo Binghe thinks Shen Yuan is helping him because he THINKS he's a girl. So, he thinks he'll have enough help of his Shixiong until puberty, where it's obvious he's a boy and Shen Yuan gets disappointed and walks away...

Except even after puberty, Shen Yuan is like!!! Aaah Shimei is so cute! She grew so well! She's getting so tall! And her waist is so small! Shimei, if this Shixiong had bigger hands could wrap around your waist full!!! You're so delicate and pretty!

... And Luo Binghe doesn't know if his Shixiong is actually THAT obtuse or if he just doesn't want to see what's before his eyes. Well, he doesn't mind that his Shixiong keeps telling him he's a pretty shimei as long as he tells him he's pretty

And Shen Yuan is actually very confused by his Luo-shimei, but seriously, seriously, she's so cute, so pretty and beautiful! What kind of AU will it be, with such a beautiful woman Luo Binghe like that? Reverse harem? MAYBE HE'LL GET A CHANCE TO ENTER THE HAREM? Oh boy, he's so excited about it!!!

Love love love Yue Qi getting super violent bc he assumes Xiao Jiu was taken 🥰 I also think that once he got to Shen Jiu and everything was explained to him, he would be mortified. Like shaking, throwing up, so scared for his safety. And because SJ is a natural contrarian, he would yell at the other peak lords for existing and say that YQ was totally justified in his reaction and everyone should stay tf away. Now he’s got impressionable YQ in his clutches that he can radicalize against the other peak lords, something he’s all too happy to do.

SJ would also make a point of leaving YQ some place and coming back much later than he said he would to give YQ panic attacks. It works the first time, but afterwords YQ will just wander off and make friends with the disciples. He would clock Binghe as a street kid immediately and get super protective of him. Once SJ has had his own little panic attack and tracked him down, he lashes out at Binghe, assuming the worst. YQ ofc protects Bingo, sending SJ into a tailspin. Even now, you would choose the beast over me? Am I worth that little to you?

hello scum villain fandom. i finished these silly books like two months ago and have been rotating them in my mind since then.

ANYWAY, i've come to propose a fun AU from my brain: Shen Yaun 'Food Peak' Lord. >:) (please excuse any typos i'm on my phone)

This is a Scumcum AU cause I decided that SJ is like my fave and I wanna see him get wifed up. Does he deserve it? No. Will this stop me? Also no.

So, slap cut to SY and he's suddenly like waking up the day after being chosen as a Sect disciple. He's like 13 and really confused and something feels... kinda wrong! It's like he has all these swiss cheese spots in his memory and he feels like he should be alarmed he's not in his own bed! But, he also IS in his own bed? What's his problem? SY is still 100% a transmigrator but since he's in a kid's body his memories are like half on lockdown. He remembers a few things but not much. The System shows up and seems just as surprised as this turn of events as he is, sort of analyzes a while, then ends up making him think (by accident) it's some like Guardian Family Spirit who is there to guide him.

In truth, the System is trying to find the best route to get the story on track within it's programming. This is NOT what it's assignment was supposed to be! Ugh!

SY has now been shuffled into what is basically an OC so it more or less just looks like him from his old life, not that he is aware, except as a kid. Everyone calls him Kong Yuan (name pending) (also I'll keep calling him SY for this to make it easier) and he was just taken into the lower Peak in charge of Food, Wine, and Elixirs. Of course this is like, with it's own special PIDW twist so everything is cool and magic. Without any real ideas on what to do otherwise, and feeling like this is Right, he throws himself into learning stuff about the Peak. He was a lazy Millennial rich boy in his last life so he's, like, kind of a SHIT COOK. That's on top of being kind of just bad at the type of physical cultivation needed for this Peak!

While highly specialized, the people on (Food) Peak are certified badasses in their own right, even if it's not in like a proper fight. You got people dipping arms and torsos in boiling oil, doing all sorts of fancy knife tricks with qi, tearing whole large beasts apart for processing; the Peak Lord and SY's new Shizun had some giant metal ladle that's twice as long as herself and looks like it weights more than a building. She's built and buff and uses this thing effortlessly to stir this giant cauldron in the center of the Peak that is as big as a house. It's a smaller Peak but always a flurry of activity! The System, deciding it will at least try and work with this, starts giving SY Taste Points as he improves. Occasionally, it will even give him little quests for bonus points! Usually it's for meeting new people, at the start, or learning certain techniques on his Peak. He notices that he usually get these 'Meet x Person' quests when on other Peaks, though... like that really sad looking but polite boy on Qiong Ding, the sort of nervous and mousy kid from An Ding, the sharp tongued girl from Xian Shu- even the real scary guy from Bai Zhan! Then after he gets those quests done, they always turn into a 'Befriend X Person' quest after... which is way harder but rewards more T Points!

(DID YOU THINK THIS WAS JUST A PEAK LORD AU BTW? NO NO NO! IT'S ALSO A QING DISCIPLE AU! HA! >:D) But why does he even WANT the T Points? Well, Guardian Spirit/System says it will provide him special memory rewards! SY rationalizes this as thinking he's receiving visions from a past? future? reincarnation of himself, which the System does not correct. It's usually smaller things about his old life, with the real important stuff all locked away behind higher and higher Points. The System will also provide him with small boosts to his palate (his was quite shit) and sometimes even... cookbooks! Part of being a Food Cultivator is enhancing your QI and Spiritual Veins by eating food that is both delicious as well as Spiritually Enhanced. This isn't just cooking in the kitchen with mama time, this is an ART. Only the best of the best have the refined palate, knowledge base, and skills to make their own recipes. It's fairly common on the Peak for the Masters to work for YEARS to try and make SOMETHING of their own they can be proud of! When SY is like 15, enough time to get to know his fellow (future) Peak Lords, he gets a special quest: [ BECOME HEAD DISCIPE ]. For the first time, THIS quest has a time limit (two years!), and the System warns him of graaaaaave consequences if he is not able to do so....

This lights a fire under his ass a bit and makes him panic! See, SY has all these cookbooks from the System, and he can even make some of the recipes! But most of them ask for all these ingredients he FEELS like he should know but he's never really heard of.... And some of the techniques are so strange, too! The System offers him a special upgrade (for what is, at the time, probably almost all this T-Points): A taste-alike Beastiary!

So, Ancient China did not have a lot of modern fruits and veggies from around the world. PIDW? Aside from a few things ones cause Airplane was a hack writer, mostly the same! But you know what PIDW does have? Lots of weird demons and animals and spirit beasts and flowers. The next time SY looks at a cookbook he will see little (???) next to the stuff he doesn't recognize. But also! There was this one recipes he wanted to make, and he had everything except for ONE thing to make it, and it has a (Inferno-Harpy-Vulture Egg) next to it. So! It shows him stuff he can SUBSTITUTE! Provided... he knows the name of the plant or animal already....

SY had always had a passion for the weird beasts and creatures he sometimes saw, but no reason to act on learning more since he was so busy.... but with this he can totally indulge! AND it will help him with his goal! Double win!

At some point in all his fumbling, he makes better connections with the Future Peak Lords, gets a reputation as being very reliable and kind (if a bit danger prone and sharp tongued at times), and is earning the attention of his buff Shizen. After getting a lot of T-Points, he manages to uncover some of the more expensive Memories....

Which warn him of a cruel villain named Shen Quinqui. An abusive man who was just the worst! Basically, all the stuff SY thought he knew about him in SV. AND the guy was gunna cause the world to end or something? UGH! Why didn't anyone DO anything about that guy in the future? :( The System says he's not allowed to tell anyone, but if he keeps working, maybe he can change Fate! Now, you're probably like 16 paragraphs into this and like 'okay, this is all super cool and you're really smart. but where is SJ at???' Well, he is HERE!

See, while SY had been to Qing Jing Peak multiple times, he's never actually got a Quest to meet anyone from there which is super weird! But he's called over there to act as a chef for a few weeks because one of the guys who usually does it is on some mission. He decides to scout out the Peak while he's there and see if he can find anyone named 'Shen' who might be the evil guy in the future.... [Mission: Meet Xiao Jiu] suddenly pops up from the System! And SY tries VERY HARD to do so! Every day he goes to work at QJ, he never meets anyone he doesn't already know. Sometimes, he hears rumors about a new kid who the Peak Lord took in and the rumors sound NASTY about him. He's only 15 (just a bit younger than SY by like a season or two!) and the guy is said to have murdered people, slept with prostitutes, perved on the girl's in their dorm there, (probably) was actually a real demon.... and was just a huge asshole. But, eventually, SY does end up meeting this mystery Xiao Jiu! He's done in the kitchen for the night and finished cleaning with the other cooks when he remembers he left something there. Going back, he finds this real skinny and lanky guy in the kitchen picking through whatever was leftover in there (not much). He's real cagey and looks ready to beat the hell out of SY for coming in there; but also like he's been caught doing something he shouldn't do. They sort of stare at each other a bit before SY hesitantly introduces himself and the guy basically runs off through the back. Rude! [Mission Complete: Meet Xiao Jiu] [Mission: Befriend Xiao Jiu]

The guy didn't even SAY anything, though! And he seemed like he wanted to beat him up! System, that doesn't seem FAIR! But... SY really wants those T Points for more future memories to try and stop whatever bad stuff is going to happen in the future, so...

Just trying to find Xiao Jiu ends up being a huge problem in of itself! This is a whole Peak and SY is mostly just here to act as a chef for a few hours in the evening. The guy never comes in and gets food, either! Does he only eat the stuff that's left in the kitchen after? But they always clean up really thoroughly so there isn't much left... and he had looked really skinny....

SY starts staying over past everyone else and leaving some extra buns and stuff he saves from dinner on the counter. Except, he gets in trouble after a day or two because the Morning Chefs had come in to find the food left there all night. Was the guy not taking it?

Eventually, he gets the idea to leave the food but... hide it. For some reason it reminds him of hiding a treat from a cat to make it want the treat more. It... sort of works? Usually only one of the buns is missing instead of the multiple he hides. But! Hey! At least the guy got some food!

Things go on like this for a while, until one night when he's heading back to his Peak, he gets sideline kicked into a dense copse of bamboo along the path. And the guy is standing over him with a sword (not a Spiritual one, but still really sharp!) at his throat. And demanding to know what SY is trying to do by leaving him food.... AAAAND I think this is long enough. For NOW. I'll write more on it when I have some time!!! My big wants is basically Feral Angry Cat SJ being slowly socialized to like the one (1) guy who keeps feeding him. They're gunna be BESTIES! (And SY just TOTALLY doesn't feel weird about thinking his best bro is pretty! That's, like super normal!)

I'm sort of half vomiting all my ideas out of my brain but also half writing a bit of a rough outline for a future fic i want to write. If this inspires you in some way, though, feel free to write stuff! Just tag me! I WANNA SEE!!!! >:)

Okay but Mocking bird demon SY (has shapeshifting powers) pretending to be SQQ to help LBH. No system, SJ lives, just SY will not let his protagonist be miserable. He optionally also wife beams LQG who is extremely confused and horny as to why SQQ is playing hot and cold with him

i LOVE that idea oh my goodneeees!!! all the shen yuan bird aus are a GIFT that keeps on GIVING!!

as a bird he can easily live on mount cang qiong and get around unnoticed, because what peak lord or disciple is going to look twice at a small, grey silver bird? it allows him to stay close to luo binghe and help him in every way he can, from giving him food he carries in his little talons or beak, singing to him when he's down, keeping him company in the forest, to making silly mimic sounds to make him laugh.

i looked up a little about mockingbirds and apparently they're extremely territorial when raising hatchlings and their nest (attacking even cats, hawks and humans), which is perfect because luo binghe is (definitely!) a helpless hatchling in need of protecting, i mean, technically his wings haven't even properly grown in yet, he can't fly! so cue ming fang and other bullies getting relentlessly attacked when they try to come near binghe.

and then the shapeshifting: from what i've gathered, mockingbirds sing regularely at night, so i can imagine shen yuan waiting until nightfall and shen jiu goes to bed when he makes his move. he dons the master's form, goes to the woodshed, and takes binghe out to train in the forest with a real manual. of course, binghe is immediately enamoured with the man shen qingqiu becomes when night falls, maybe he even starts to think it's a "werewolf" thing where he changes when the moon comes up, because there isn't really any explanation to why the soft words, gentle touches and kind eyes turn into sneers, violence and glares as soon as the sun is up!

bc he does have the protagonist halo, and even in canon binghe knew something was up, i think he figures it out eventually when he starts alluding to certain events that never happened but that his "shizun" plays along with. also the bird has the exact same way of petting his head/ruffling his hair as his night-shizun does. one and one equals two, after all.

and liu qingge yeeeessss!! if in this au shen yuan saved him in the caves as well, he's probably getting such a headache from the complete 180s shen qingqiu keeps making!! one moment everything is great, shen qingqiu is tending to his wounds with such gentleness and a kind smile, and when liu qingge runs into him at night (when shen qingqiu always looks kind of... hurried, for some reason, almost a little nervous), they share a smile and a laugh and one time shen qingqiu even hugged him; but then when liu qingge tries to sit next to him at the meetings suddenly he's getting snarled at, called a dumb dirty beast and to sit elsewhere?? hello??? never mind getting invited into the bamboo house, or shen qingqiu accepting his (dead animal) gifts.

i also think it'd be so really funny if shen yuan ended up not caring about continuation errors or consistent character behavior, and just goes all out on the OCC by being kind to everyone in shen qingqiu's form; flirting with liu qingge, cuddling with yue qingyuan, spoiling luo binghe rotten, gifting mu qingfang all kinds of rare herbs that he can find easily in his demon bird form, and generally being a moon-saint that everyone comes to realize isn't actually shen qingqiu, but since he's doing good for the community and not harming anyone, they kind of just..... leave it. the peak lords have a meeting about it (sans shen jiu of course), and they decide the night-qingqiu can stay.

tho i do think yue qingyuan would ask shen yuan to don a different form.

also also, shen yuan getting up to all kinds of mischief by mimicking other peak lords' voices: calling to disciples with their shizun's voice, watching them get all confused because no one's there?? or making shang qinghua go around in circles because he keeps saying "this way, shang qinghua, hurry up!" in an angry liu qingge voice. and also making shen jiu open the door to no one when he mimics yue qingyuan's voice. there's a LOT he can do with it🤭

there's so many flavours of jiuyuan that work well. shizun sy and disciple sj, shizun sj and disciple sy, or one where theyre both disciples, or even modern aus.. if i went into all of these id be typing for hours so i'll just talk about shizun shen jiu with his head disciple shen yuan.

hes SO jealous of liu qingge and luo binghe always stealing shen yuan's time. he already hated them but seeing shen yuan pat binghe's head and call liu qingge strong just makes the feeling like 10000x worse.

Shen yuan's modern man sensibilities would make anyone raise an eyebrow, but shen jiu is just insane. "shen yuan wrapped a bandage around that beast's arm?? does he want the whole world to believe this master teaches his disciples to be WHORES??"

shen yuan: shizun hates men and thinks all of them have the worst intentions so everytime i talk to someone, he thinks they have ulterior motives, it's ridiculous

every man who wants to fuck shen yuan, visibly sweating: haha, yeah, ridiculous...

them living in the bamboo house together.. shen jiu stops visiting the brothel as much because having shen yuan around makes him feel safe ..

everytime shen yuan leaves the peak to go on an outing with qingge, he feels super betrayed and refuses to talk to shen yuan for like a week afterwards. when he gets over his little tantrum, they have tea together and talk shit about the other peaks

SVSSS except both Shen Jiu & Yuan know about the future

SY transmigrates except he does it earlier, just before he becomes CQ sect disciple. He still has the system and it insists on starting a tedious task of becoming a head disciple.

Except a few years later (2-3?) arrives SJ and the system shuts down (it's connected, but SY doesn't know that yet) and so SY gets to decide some things for himself (it's kind of too late to back from trying to become Peak Lord, because let's be honest - SY has too thin face to suddenly lie shamelessly about not becoming one, when he was already halfway there).

Why does the system shuts down? Well - the thing is that SJ remembers his life (or the life he lived that went according to novel).

SJ doesn't remember everything, only as far as things went till the start of his process in Huan Hua sect, but that is enough. Cue SJ deciding to either kill Binghe as soon as he sets his foot on CQM or hunt him that even before it, after he is born.

So yeah, everything is nice and all, SJ does make some things for himself better, knowing the future (his meridians aren't as hopeless as they were before), but there is one thing that isn't quite checking out - who is this head disciple that shares similar surname to his (Shen, but different characters)? How? SJ would remember him from his previous life - cue SJ trying to figure SY out, what his deal is, while the other is vibing. As in - SY decides to become Peak Lord and either give Binghe to someone else or snatch him and finds himself quite enjoying learning about all these cool things? He has a fellow transmigrator (initially SQH is at first confused by this character he didn't make up), a cool friend from Bai Zhan Peak (LQG is smitten) and all is good as long as he manages to somehow deal with SQQ - but the other doesn't seem to be anywhere? What the hell?

But he does meet the boy called SJ. They do seem to hit it off quite nicely - they both love reading and criticizing the heck out of them. They bond. Somehow. (SY finds SJ charming the way feral cats are since his self-preservation skills are what they are, it's instant deal; SJ begrudgingly grows fond of SY and since the latter doesn't seem to be aware of the future - all the references go over SY head, since they refer to things not in the book - he opts to simply protect the other from the beast).

And then they both become Peak Lords and it all comes together - like what the hell - SJ is SQQ? How is SY supposed to do in that situation? Anyone, please send help - SY is in crisis.

Hear me out: After the Og DVAWTK world gets rebuilt, it somehow ends up being combined with the PIDW world because Bingge basically destroyed his world after not being able to find a nice shizun.

YHJ becomes the An Ding Peak Lord and basically replaces OG SQH and Airplane ends up as the An Ding Head Disciple. WE becomes MBJ's older half brother. SY is in the same generation as the peak lords and ends up as an unofficial peak lord of Qing Jing Peak and is not related to SJ.

YHJ is SJ's favorite.

When they get their Courtesy Names:

YHJ: Shen-Shixiong switch with me!

Qing Jing Peak Lord: Can they do that?

An DIng Peak Lord: Probably not, but does anyone really care?

Also they have the memories of their past lives and the PIDW Peak Lords are so confused on what happened to OG SQH and who YHJ is. They just end up letting it go because they like YHJ so much better

Basically YHJ gets to be the oblivious one and WE gets to be the pining one who is definitely chasing after YHJ.

YQY takes a walk wondering what the fuck is his life and stumbles upon bby LBH in the river and by the time he realizes who it is, it's too late.

There will probably be a scene where they all realize everything (It would totally be the system's fault)

And actually going off of that, the roles are reversed could also be how he who was once an abused slave, ex demonic cultivator mostly against his will (he was coerced into coming with wu yanzi and was just used the entire time) and a hated man for being unable to express himself, to the exact thing he hated more then himself, someone in power abusing those weaker like it is their right to do so

I think what Original Luo Binghe did to Shen Jiu parallels what happened between Wei Wuxian and Wen Chao. Let me yap.

Look this might sound stupid to you but I just rewatched MDZS and I JUST saw some similarities with PIDW. After coming out of the Burial Mounds, WWX literally tortured WC before his death. The Burial Mounds is a place of literal torture and WWX went through HELL in it without his golden core. Because of what? Because of WC, he's the one who threw him into there.

It's an eye for an eye. WWX must've gotten his organs rearranged, bones crushed by constant attacks from walking corpses, eaten corpse fingers to survive, and many other horrors MXTX didn't mention. So WC SHOULD feel all of that, as payment for his sins to WWX and all other people he inflicted.

With LBG and SJ, the Endless Abyss is almost no different than Burial Mounds except it's festered with demonic instead of resentful energy (I think they're not really the same type?) and various types of beasts iirc. So even with his golden core, it's still harder for LBH because he barely knew how to avoid or fight them, where their weak spots are, etc. And instead of 3 months, it's 5 YEARS so it's enough time for his hatred for SJ to fester like a fairytale witch's soup. In the very beginning, he must've also gone through hell. Maybe the beasts ripped his limbs apart, stabbed his eyes, pulled his tongue out and only because of his Heavenly Demon blood that he recovered himself back (probably). It's very different from running away from resentful corpses because you KNOW just how to fight them off, even though it's just impossible for their number.

So, seeing LBH making SJ into a human stick doesn't surprise me too much. It's the case of an eye for an eye. No, it's still wrong, I'm not justifying it. I'm just making my analysis. THAT'S why it reminds me so much of WC's death.

Even both of the MCs have a demonic object in their hands, the Stygian Tiger Seal and Xin Mo. Both are untamable and capable of driving their holders insane. What differs our MC however—is that WWX has things to lose, and that's why he's often shown to be holding himself back from a killing spree. Hell, he's even the actual most righteous character in the novel.

While LBH doesn't have anything left to lose. He doesn't have a family, friends, all these wives and servants probably don't mean much on him. Also, his demon blood affects his mindset, giving his brain more "predatory instincts" as I'm gonna call it. Added with the fact that he spent more time in the Endless Abyss and how his mind had been corrupted by Xin Mo, LBH would pull a "No More Mr. Nice Guy, Heh >:)". That makes him not so kind as to give SJ the mercy of death. He probably wanted to keep SJ alive for 5 years or maybe forever til his brain finally decides "yep, that's it, go die or whatever idc anymore". Yeah, until BingggeMei extra happened and we could probably assume SJ's death is never gonna happen, but that's for another story nevermind.

However, it does mean that the latter won't hold himself back. The point where he crosses the line is when he burns down the CQMS, kills the Peak Lords, and even went so far as to merge the demonic and mortal realms. That's what differs him from WWX, so much. It's literally canonically said that he's not the nice kind of protag.

SO in conclusion—when I see people talking about how "SJ didn't deserve all that", I'm between agreeing and disagreeing. What LBG did to SJ is terribly inhumane, but that's to be expected from a demon emperor like him. Hey I'm a SJ stan, it doesn't mean my views are completely biased. Especially considering what LBG possibly went through in the Endless Abyss for five years as a mere disciple without a sword like Xuan Su.

I think this is why PIDW readers rooted for LBG, because the story was from his POV. Tragic MC, thrown into the pits of hell by his cruel master. Our perspective is widened through reading SV and we can see the tragic POV of SJ and so we start to root for him too. No, it doesn't mean that either of these 2 are completely right in their choices, the both of them are very flawed and they're trapped in this cycle of abuse, very harmful to the surroundings. We can't fully fault or justify them. Yes, they need therapists, perchance one hidden behind a very powerful barrier in case any of them decides to attack the poor therapist.

But this realization—the parallels between LBG&SJ and WWX&WC—just kind of amazes me. Okay, ted talk ends, thank you for surviving through, if you don't have any nice words to say please scroll away :(

Shen Yuan finally gets a taste of his own medicine when he receives a scathing 5k word long review (1 star of course) from Shen Jiu about the piss poor quality of the guzheng strings he ordered.

Shen Jiu eventually learns that this taobao system has a voice to text function and all his rants about the items he's received from this magical box are being recorded and sent to the merchant. But he doesn't learn that until later.

Taobao is pretty much amazon/ebay/anything and everything you could want. It has some very high quality stuff there, other stuff makes even Wish look high quality. It's really a gamble.

Shen Jiu explores and gets invested in all the various art supplies, musical instruments, music scores on taobao. I would like to imagine Shang Qinghua having to visit Qing Jing peak in person only to see one of Shen Qingqiu's hallmasters leading a beginner's class on playing the recorder starting with "Hot Cross Buns".

Ning Yingying is running around with her shizun's amazing new artifact that's called a "polaroid camera" and taking photos of her fellow disciples. Everyone is appropriately amazed at how fast this small box can paint such detailed portraits. On the other hand, Shen Qingqiu is writing even more scathing reviews and critiques on the inaccuracies of published bestiaries now that he can take PHOTOS of animals and beasts to save as reference for later.

Shen Qingqiu is also stuck fending off the artifact peak lord's pleas and later attempts to steal his polaroid camera. Shen Jiu could just order another one, but he's too petty to give what is HIS to someone else (esp. someone who doesn't appreciate his works).

Also I would like to imagine Shen Qingqiu gets a spray bottle and squirts water at Liu Qingge in a meeting. It doesn't quite fit Shen Qingqiu's personality, but the imagery is hilarious.

Imagine if system messed up in a big way and instead of Shen Yuan getting Shen Qingqiu’s body, Shen Qingqiu gets some sort of system that lets him order things off of Taobao.

Not that Shen Jiu would know what is Taobao or what’s to do at first.

(Shen Yuan is the poor freight forwarder who’s job is to deliver all of Shen Jiu’s orders. And handle any returns too. He’s now understanding the horrors of retail.)

Y'all, you ever just get assaulted by the idea of how devasting it would be for the rest of the world if SQH actually took care of himself, three meals a day and 8 hours of sleep sorta deal? How minds would be blown?

Because like, I have this headcanon that every peak lord has a different kind of beauty, yeah? Like SQQ has this very cold, ethereal beauty. And LQG has this very sharp, intimidating beauty. YQY has this very warm, confident beauty, beautiful big bro beauty. WQW has this rugged and debonair sort of beauty and so on and so forth.

And SQH, underneath all of the stress and sleepless nights, is the most adorable, endearing, cute person in the world. He's that cute that makes people go feral, like honest to God cute aggression.

So can you guys imagine like, let's say that SQH has a minor but very acute qi deviation because of how hard he works, yeah? It's not SJ level but enough for MQF to put his foot down and whisk his shixiong away to his peak and very politely forcing him to be taken care of So SQH can't do anything but rest, eat well, take some sun for that good vitamin d for his depression and chill.

(MQF has some close calls with SQH, of course. Some disciples that need their Shizun back. Some demons that don't understand they can't just teleport in and Try to steal his shixiong away. But because MQF has had plenty of training with SQQ and LBH, he perseveres)

Queue a couple of weeks later and SQH is getting some weird ass looks and doesn't understand why! Is there something on his face? He looks at his reflection more often His cheeks are rounder and pinkish but they look clean enough. Was it because he put on weight? His clothes aren't hanging off of him anymore... But MQF said it was a good thing.

Was it his hair? He thought it looked good. With nothing to do for all those weeks, he had thought That he had managed the bird's nest he had been saddled with. MQF and his head disciple had said it looked nice... Were they lying?

Look as he might, he can't find stuff that's too wrong with his face. So why are people staring at him like that?

....

And not just staring. They're acting weird too!

Like! Like! He went to talk to LQG about his peak going over the budget and the man looked like he would kill him. And then! When he finally managed to get his shidi to agree in keeping the costs down, he smiled, thankfully And LQG punched the table between them, breaking it in half! Like WTF, bro!

He thought they were cool now, after SQQ married Bīnghé!

Guess he was wrong...

Speaking of his son! He was weird too!

SQH'S body had decided to betray him after so many years. Just because he had shown weakness.

He couldn't go three hours without food anymore. Real food too! His adored melon seeds did nothing for the growling beast in his stomach.

Such a traitor! Didn't his body know he had a job to do? Aiya!

So imagine his embarrassment! His shame! When waiting for a weird acting Cucumber bro, his stomach growled noisely near LBH! WTF!

SQH looked down, apologetic, cheeks red with shame, and askes to be forgiven by Junshang.

The look LBH gave him was so deadly that he thought his days were numbered. But when Airplane thought LBH was going to give him the final strike, he merely got up and left his Shishu to wait alone.

Normal right?!

But then! When he was talking to SQQ, who was a lot More bitchy than usual, LBH brought snacks for his beloved. Usual, right?! NO!

For the first time in his life, LBH placed some of the plates in front of SQH! And two cups for the same pot of tea! Bīnghé usually made two pots of tea for them, one with the really good stuff for SQQ and one so and so for SQH!

And people might think he was insane! I mean, maybe the table was small, right? He had to place the snacks for Shizun near the other peak lord because there was no room but NO! There was so much room!

And to top it all off, after. While of just drinking tea, LBH asked why wasn't he eating??? WTF!!

He looked helplessly to SQQ but the traitor just arched a brow at him. Was this some sort of game? Was the food poison??

"Eat, shidi"

SQH had lived a... Life, right?

It wasn't the best life but it had been a life. Who knew it would end like this?

SQH ate the food. It was delicious. The soft exterior of the bun melted in his mouth giving way to the savory meat inside. It was the best food he ever had. It was heaven.

Ok.

He could die for this.

But as he happily ate, he must've done something! Because SQQ struck his head with the guard of his fan, waking him up from his bliss.

"What was that for?" He asked, heartbroken.

But Cucumber didn't answer. He merely grumbled about his stupid face and to just eat and shut up.

Weird, right??

And then he had been getting these-- things! They looked like gifts from his martial siblings but-- but that did not make any sense! They never, ever given him anything but work.

And at first he thought they were normal, yeah? He thought, for example, when WQW had given him a Very beautiful and blessed dagger that he wanted more of the ore that made it and told him he would see what he could do. When he managed to find the budget for it and purchase the ore,his shixiong had the nerve to ask him why he bought it!

SQH showed him the dagger and WQW had the gall to laugh at him and told him to keep it. Like it was a gift or something??

WTF??

But worst of all! Worst than all this weird crazy nonsense, was his king!

If MBJ had been needy, demanding, and spoiled before, it was nothing compared to now.

Now, MBJ demanded his full attention when they talked, looking him dead in the eye like he was trying to pick out a lie. Or when they sat, he pulled SQH to his lap like he was going to run away. Or get made when those weird not-gifts started to pile up in his house.

He had the sneaking suspicion that his king broke some of them too.

Aiya!

And because SQH'S body was a traitor now, not only did it need food like all of the time, it needed sleep too! He was now falling asleep on his king's lap all the time. So rude!

He tried to get MQF to deal with this weirdness but his shidi only said that it was normal.

And then patted his head! Like... Like--like he was a kitten or something!

YQY had positive relationships with the other peak lords, tught they disagreed with his favoritism towards SJ. Meanwhile, SJ was isolated and the others would always assume the worst of him. In PIDW, YQY had a unpleasant death, but SJ was tortured and had to feel the pain of YQY's death. SJ's reputation was trown in the mud, while YQY's wasn't, in PIDW, as far as we know. In SVSSS, he will never get a true closure because SJ is no longer there, but at least he alive (part 2)

YQY is a pitiful man but I can’t feel pity for him when he had ample opportunity to speak up. He could talk with SJ about the slanderous accusations. (Although SQH was the one who fucked jin over by not speaking when LQG though SQQ was going to kill him when they were younger. SQQ did yell at him, but what’s worse?? A life time of harassment to your best tactician or SQQ prettily glaring at you for a week or two??)

YQY could see that something was wrong when he escaped the Qiu’s. It was so bad he was now in the care of some suspicious man and was made to kill people (his interpretation he doesn’t know whether SJ wanted to kill or had to kill). He doesn’t know why SJ refuses the disciples dormitories and flees to sleep in brothels almost every night.

He chose to do nothing but apologize. No one was holding him at gun point to not tell SJ what happened. He wasn’t being threatened to allow everyone’s baseless accusations to spread like wildfire. Either he didn’t know the full extent of his role or he didn’t care how this affected SJ as SJ was no longer his cute and small XJ. He never listens to SQQ anyway. Purposefully entering his home despite SQQs wishes. Calling him pet names he lost the right too when he refused to explain himself or help SJ when the other head disciples took it upon themselves to harass, attack and slander him. He lost that right when the only thing YQ the highest ranking disciple would do is smile and tell SJ to get along with the others.

His death was sad yes, but him never getting closure is his own fault IMO.

(BTW I don’t hate him I just don’t like him as much as others like GYX and the boy from that sower infested village. I sympathize with SJ because comparatively his evils were ingrained in him by the many people that failed him (Also having discussed the raws with others I don’t believe he assaulted anyone sexually, I think if anything it could have been his ploy to help NYY escape whatever that beast (derogatory) had in store for the sects. As well as his goal was never to kill children, unlike SQH, MBJ, YQY who never listens at critical moments, LBH(Bingge but Bingmei was close to it at many points).

TLDR; YQY didn’t do anything to get himself closure when he had ample opportunity. He let SJ be abused by their martial siblings in youth and in adulthood. He enabled SQQ to vent his anger in unhealthy manners rather than helping him when he still had the chance (when they were YOUNGER).

“I won’t allow it.”

Mu Qingfang doesn’t let Shen Qingqiu’s tone faze him. “His life is on the line. I realise this is an uncomfortable situation for Shen-shixiong, but Shen Yuan needs a partner.”

Liu Qingge doesn’t flinch either. “It was my fault. He was my responsibility. I should have protected him. I will do it.”

Shen Qingqiu’s fan slaps onto his palm with a smack. “No.”

Yue Qingyuan wonders who thought to warn Shen Qingqiu of his counterpart’s state. The situation would have been easier to deal without his presence.  

Then again, the dramatic way Liu Qingge had surged into the sect, Shen Yuan’s body limp in his arms, had attracted a lot of attention. Maybe a Qing Jing Peak disciple had witnessed the spectacle and warned him, the way his own disciples had.  

“If Shen-shixiong would forgive me, he doesn’t have a say in this. Only Shen Yuan could oppose this, and he’s sadly not in a position to.”

“I refuse to let Liu Qingge touch ou- his body.”

“Shall we call Luo Binghe then?”

If Mu Qingfang’s suggestion sounded perfectly mild, everyone in the room hears the provocation for what it is.  

Shen Qingqiu visibly bristles. “Weren’t you trying to save his life? Permitting this beast to sate his foul desires would only bring ruin to the sect.”  

“Then surely Liu Qingge is a better choice.”

“I will do it myself.”

Silence reigns in the room for a moment. Yue Qingyuan might have choked. That’s… an image he won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Mu Qingfang regains control first. “I sincerely doubt Shen Yuan would prefer your help to Liu-shixiong’s.”

“I happen to know he would.”  

Yue Qingyuan chokes for real. Shen Qingqiu did not just imply… “Qingqiu-shidi?”

Shen Qingqiu ignores him completely. “I’m more than able of taking care of him. Liu-shidi’s help is unnecessary.”  

“Shen-shixiong is certain Shen Yuan would agree?”

But Shen Qingqiu has already decided the matter has been settled, and passes the door to the room shielding Shen Yuan from them without bothering to answer or look back.  

Yue Qingyuan can’t meet his fellow cultivators’ eyes. Not that he thinks they’re more at ease than he with what they’re tacitly allowing to happen.  

Liu Qingge is the first to snap out of it. “Shen Qingqiu can’t be trusted with Shen Yuan’s life! We have to stop him.”

Mu Qingfang makes a calming motion. “You might not like Shen-shixiong, but he isn’t stupid. If something happens to Shen Yuan, who else but him could be held responsible? He must be aware of this.”  

Liu Qingge turns to Yue Qingyuan, eyes flinty. “Would you hold him responsible?”

Yue Qingyuan falters. Would he? Could he sanction Shen Qingqiu for Shen Yuan’s sake?  

No matter. “I agree with Mu Qingfang. Qingqiu-shidi won’t hurt Shen Yuan.”

“That’s not an answer.”

Yue Qingyuan stays silent.  

The silence persists as all of them stare at each other, unwilling to leave but even more unwilling to disturb whatever might be happening in the room next door.  

An eternity later, the door opens again and Shen Qingqiu calls Mu Qingfang to check on Shen Yuan.

It does not take Yue Qingyuan more than a glance to notice that although he made a significant effort, Shen Qingqiu did not manage to be as pristine as he was before… before. His hairstyle isn’t as neat, and there is a bruise near the top of his neck that Yue Qingyuan cannot start thinking about or he will lose his sanity.

“If Zhangmen-shixiong could stop staring at me like I was a freak?”

Yue Qingyuan shakes himself out of it, contrite. “Please forgive me.”

Shen Qingqiu, of course, doesn’t. He just stands, back straight and mouth closed.

“If you hurt him in any way, you will feel my blade.”

Shen Qingqiu snorts. “I’m certain I hurt him less than you would have.”

Yue Qingyuan hates everything about this. “Is Shen Yuan fine?”

“Yes.”

… “That’s good.”

“Surely two peak lords have better things to do than wait here? I will be more than enough to accompany Shen Yuan back to Qing Jing Peak.”

“I won’t believe Shen Yuan is fine until I see it with my own two eyes. Who would take your word for it?”

“Liu-shidi, really. Please calm yourself.”

Shen Qingqiu snorts. “That’s too much to ask of an animal.”

Liu Qingge jumps to his feet, his hand on Cheng Luan, which Shen Qingqiu will take as another insult. As far as Yue Qingyuan knows, Shen Yuan is still the one wielding Xiu Ya.

“I’m certain you both are aware infighting in forbidden on Qian Cao Peak.”

The way both men freeze and try to act like they always meant to do that is almost funny. Mu Qingfang sounded perfectly mild, nothing to worry about, and yet. Everyone knows better than mess with the man. The consequences have been known to be dire.  

“For your information, Shen Yuan is perfectly fine. He should abstain from effort for the following days, but he can return to Qing Jing Peak.”

“I see there is no reason for us to remain here then. Thanking Mu-shidi for his help. Well, Zhangmen-shixiong, Liu-shidi, we’ll take our leave now.” Shen Qingqiu returns to the room only to exit it with Shen Yuan half-draped over him, obviously still unsteady.  

Seeing the two of them together really does bring out their differences. Yue Qingyuan still wonders how he could have been so blind as to mistake one for the other. Both of them aren’t looking at their surroundings, but if Shen Qingqiu is just outright refusing to acknowledge their presence, evidently Shen Yuan is too embarrassed to meet their eyes.  

“You really are… fine?”

Shen Yuan’s expression softens a degree as Shen Qingqiu’s frosts over. “I am. I understand Liu-shidi is the one who brought me to Qian Cao Peak? I am very thankful for his help and concern.”

Shen Qingqiu pushes Shen Yuan forward. “Yes yes, we’re all very grateful. Mu-shidi said you needed rest. Let’s go home.”

Li Qingge is not having it. “I’ll visit tomorrow. Make sure you’re well.” Because I don’t trust Shen Qingqiu to take care of you is the unsaid end of that sentence.

“I’ll look forward to it.”

“Since some people are apparently bent on keeping you from your bed, we’re leaving now.” Shen Qingqiu drags Shen Yuan away, leaving him no choice in the matter. Shen Yuan waves at Liu Qingge as he departs.  

Yue Qingyuan hasn’t said a word to Shen Yuan. His presence has barely been noted.

That’s fine. He already has more than enough to deal with. He can tell from Liu Qingge’s fixed gaze that this whole situation is a recipe for disaster.  

Even before he himself sorts his feelings on the matter. Shen Qingqiu and Shen Yuan...

Sleep will be hard to come by.
