I find it so interesting how Juliet when finding out Shawn wasn’t psychic and then learning his and Gus’s methods decides to ultimately not get involved with his methods and not be informed what he does all the time. Now if Lassie ever found out and learned their methods he would also not want to be involved but would want to know each and every time HOW, because it would drive him crazy not knowing, however knowing drives him even crazier. So it’s a lose lose situation for all parties.

Can we take a moment to appreciate the way that S2 has paralleled S1 in terms of plot structure?

S1 spent the first six episodes following this back and forth trust issue between Charlie and Babe—fueled both by Way’s manipulations and Charlie’s insistence of keeping his plans secret. You get the idea that something is going on with Tony, but it’s not entirely clear yet. And then in episode 7, Kim uncovers the human trafficking and blows the whole plot open.

And in S2, you have this ongoing trust issue between Charlie and Babe—fueled by Willy’s machinations and Babe’s insistence on keeping his plans secret. We know Tony is up to human experimentation, but his plans are still largely a secret. And now heading into ep 7, we have an idea that he wants Charlie in particular, and then Change2561 drops a mid-season trailer showing all of the fucking plot we’re about to be hit with. The cherry on top for me would be Kim and Kenta digging into the heart of Tony’s plans in ep 7 😌

I don't know if it needs to be said but I'm gonna say it anyway - you guys do know there's nothing wrong with making Wille the top and Simon mainly the bottom in sexual scenarios, right? And that making them verse or Wille bottom has nothing to do with making them more equal and you don't need to do that as like a way to balance out their class/power differences outside, right?

And topping or bottoming are not synonyms for being dominant or submissive. And when I say they have no drawn out power dynamics in their intimate scenes that means there are no real dom/sub dynamics involved but that doesn't mean you can't have a bottom or a top because that's not the same.

Of course you can write or read whatever you want and just have a personal preference but you don't have to try and read into their scenes for proof they are versatile and oh so equal and purposefully search for clues that make Simon not the bottom because it would be degrading if he is...? Like what are you trying to prove - that Simon is also strong and 'manly' and it can't be implied that he exclusively is the bottom and likes getting fucked bc that would be disrespecting him? Isn't that kind of the exact mindset trap you're trying not to fall into?

I just want to emphasise this in case people think this - you're not taking Simon's power and agency away from him if you're making him bottom.

To sum it up, wilmon have no pronounced dom/sub dynamic and they can both surrender to the other in different ways but I do believe there is a certain position preference and it's okay if Wille is more the top (that's just my conclusion from watching/analysing their intimate scenes) and no it doesn't mean they can't ever switch bc it's not that deep but I still think canon tells us a different story than what some people desperately want to make it out to be and whatever they get up to in their sex life has nothing to do with being more or less equal or healthy outside of it.

Transformers animated is running laps around transformers earth spark.

Both take place after the war kinda ended and now they’re all just dealing with life, but everything earth spark tries to present us with is just done so much better in tfa. Like they literally did two separate episodes on ratchets and Optimus’s PTSD and it’s done so well idk why I don’t hear more about it?

I still like both bc I like seeing the giant war robots adjusting to just being people again, but tfa does it far better. Plus I love when they’re stylized too so no wonder I’m so attached to tfa and tfp.

Something something Jason feeling like he doesn't quite fit as "Greek" or "Roman" as a metaphor for bisexuality, particularly the semi-canonical bi-coding in his half of experiences during the Cupid scene and how Favonius and Cupid speak to him in parallel to the scenes confirming Nico is gay.

Something something the camps as metaphors for traditionally acceptable forms of relationships and Nico living as a rogue outside of them, rejecting expectation (ergo in himself representing a metaphor of queer identity and living outside of boxes and defined/usually hetero-allonormative/binary ideas of what love/relationships should look like) versus Jason struggling with the expectation to conform to a label and even discussing with Nico both of them remaining at CHB together.

Something something the inverse of Jason shifting away from the camps after he breaks up with Piper, feeling lost and unable to find a place between the camps as he begins to explore his queer identity properly for the first time versus Nico only remaining at CHB because he has entered a relationship. ig Xanthe as a name for a chinese american kid could’ve worked if the story was willing to establish an emotional basis (such as drawing from one of greek myths or a person they know), or especially if the story was willing to talk about cultural disconnect and the way diaspora kids sometimes try to distance themselves from their family/culture but! they weren’t willing! and they didn’t talk about it! so!!

Yeah by all means! Every diaspora kid's story is different. We just didn't get a discussion of how Xanthe came to pick their name at all. And it's certainly not impossible, shout out to @shoot-i-messed-up for pointing out Vietnamese American actress Xanthe Huynh (pronounced Zan-Thee Hwinn according to her website!). I'm pretty sure her case is similarly an anglicized name. Technically Xanthe Zhou's sister is named Stephie so maybe the whole family is anglicized.

Similar to how I talked in that one essay about how death is largely an aesthetic in Spirit World moreso than a truly politically charged theme- Chinese culture is handled similarly in the story. Sure, we see a bunch of Chinese mythology and culture that decorates Spirit World and commands Xanthe's superpowers but- how it exists as a political identity with Xanthe as a Chinese American? Nothing. I don't even know what level of language barrier Xanthe has. They seem pretty fluent? Which just feels narratively convenient to not talk about it. Like culture is just aesthetic with no context or history. Let alone how that intersects with queerness.
