I am genuinely upset about this change in Android 14.

If I *willingly choose* to install an app with non-dismissable reminders it's because I NEED THOSE REMINDERS TO NOT BE DISMISSABLE.

My very reliable reminders app is basically useless now because I can easily and accidentally swipe the reminders away, losing them to the void. Yes, I could look in my history to see what it was but I can't restore it.

The whole point of the app is that I could not ignore them!! I had to say I did the thing or I had to delay the reminder. Fucking people and their "helpful" changes to how things work!!! This was a critical component of managing my ADHD and l it took me a few days to realize I was even doing this and it screwed up a lot of things. 😡

Critical PSA for anyone with Android devices!

I got the following email this morning:

Basically Google is rolling out the ability to track you via your android devices even when you're offline and you have to manually opt out of it. Many android devices no longer come with a wired headphone jack, so if you have Bluetooth headphones or a keyboard or anything, your location will be tracked and stored by your device unless you opt out of this.

I tried using the link they gave me in the email to opt out of it, but it didn't really seem to do anything. So I looked up how to opt out and found the following steps, which worked for my phone:

Opting out from the Find My Device network is as simple as tapping a toggle in your phone's settings. 1. On your Android device, go to Settings. 2. Tap the Google setting. 3. Tap the Find My Device setting. 4. Tap the toggle to off next to "Use Find My Device." 5. Confirm with pin, pattern, or biometrics. That's it. Your device is no longer participating in the Find My Device network. To rejoin, just flip the toggle back on.

Please reblog to spread awareness. My husband has the same phone as me and he didn't get any emails about this.

To every dbh creator who treats Amanda with sympathy, regardless of whether she deviates or not, I am shaking your hand so enthusiastically right now.

I do love the idea of her deviating and becoming her own person sooo much. To see her slowly develop a sense of dry humor or to show compassion in her own clinically detached way. There's so much potential for her to reconcile with Connor, for them to come to an understanding, because they both were just tools at Cyberlife's disposal and in the end were each just fulfilling their missions. Amanda just happened to be the one in the role of handler, but she was just as disposable to them.

I love both possible routes of either having her get her own body and autonomy, or having to remain a part of Connor, and them learning to coexist as one. Each has a lot of potential for character exploration.

And then there's the possibility of her not deviating. What if she can't? What if she is forever bound by her programming and remains trapped and lost and directionless without the ability to break free and decide for herself what her directives are? Does she go rogue? Keep trying to fulfill Cyberlife's instructions when Cyberlife is no more? Does the impossibility of this cause so much instability that she simply cannot exist anymore? What does this do to Connor? To have a rogue AI trapped inside him potentially trying to manipulate him to her bidding?

There's just so much to be had with her character if you look past the easy fall back of wholly evil AI.

open font with ibis paint (either verison)

check ibis font library

learned how to get into cotc with umodel instead of fmodel and the playable character folder still just isn't there btw. there would theoretically be some more things i could try if it wasn't for the emulator block, but i doubt square'll be getting rid of that, so. yeah. i guess if global ever catches up i could try using it then :|
