"Deeper, then deepest they alight.
From the lake floor they rise.
Bearing with them the power to make vast lands, they rise again."
My Lake Guardians won the poll !!!
They're all siblings and help keep things in check whenever needed!
The world has been so peaceful that most legendries nowadays don't have to do much, all thanks to a noble sacrifice from their father a long time ago. Not to say things haven't been stirring as of late, but whatever it is these three are sure to throw their hats into the ring to keep the peace-- even if that's just assisting the good guys!

Least favorite change from book to show?
A few things spring to mind for this one!
Full answer under the cut as I suspect it's going to get spoiler-y.
So, I understand completely why, with budget and time constraints, changes had to be made, and I think the show is visually stunning just the way it is.
But with that said, there are several scenes from the book that would have been absolutely fucking spectacular to have seen realised on screen and it does make me a little sad that they were omitted or changed.
-
There's the scene where Irving follows Silna down to the hold where she's created a living space for herself, only for him to find that someone or something has torn clean through the ship's hull - nearly a dozen layers of the hardest woods on the planet - to create a private tunnel out into the ice and up to the surface.
Seeing that amount of physical power before we really see the thing that has exerted it is properly spine-tingling.
And speaking of tingling spines, I would love to have witnessed the scene where Tuunbaq makes it onto the ship and down into the hold and lower decks where it wreaks bloody havoc. It's a scene of utter chaos that plays out in almost complete darkness - the men have so little idea of what's even going on or what might be lurking in the darkness beyond the light of their own woefully inadequate lanterns. Chilling stuff!
There's also fire, unspeakably gruesome physical injuries, and some lovely, lovely character beats between Fitzjames and Goodsir.
And perhaps the pièce de résistance, the crown jewel of absolutely wild scenes I'd love to have seen brought to the screen, is the grisly death-by-Tuunbaq of several major characters including Little and Peglar. They are tricked into following a lead in the ice and ambushed, and when the rest of the men follow after them, they find that the lead opens out into a huge lake that has been turned entirely red by the sheer amount of blood in it.
Just imagine that! Imagine the shot panning up and over, the men and their boats tiny specks in an expanse of white and made even more insignificant by the staggering scale of the massacre before them!
-
I have some more in-depth thoughts about Crozier and Hickey's relationship and the way the book in many ways treats morality and cannibalism differently than the show does. But this post is already long enough! :)

“I think everyone likes and appreciates recognition, but I don’t necessarily like all the spotlight. I just see myself as a good soldier. It’s weird. In hockey, it’s always about the team. You win together and you lose together… Fantastic night. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
— Lars Eller on his 1000th game. Quote from the Penguins instagram.

as the ranger expert what do you think/what would you like to see with ranger in 3-2? maybe a surprise return?
abbsolutelly not
Listen..cmere...I love Ranger. I love him a lot. I love him so much. I could kill for more Ranger content. Not in the yttd main story though. His story is such an excellent tragedy with Such an amazingly satisfying ending that I hope all my remaining meow meows will give me an ending with the same amount of gratification.
And now being given Sei, and context to all those lines like "[Rio Ranger] ..is not your real name" and that tear-threatening "hu...man?" from his death scene MANNNN
Ranger's in a tough spot because no one cares enough about the little shit to ever see past the Ranger doll and see a broken Sei. Rio Ranger is irredeemable, and his very.. morally dubious end is just what he needed.
Although....I said this in my last post, but I think Ranger is a reflection of Asunaro and Gashu, but also, very importantly, Safalin.. who happens to be the only one still up that could possibly know about Sei, and care at all ! Safalin is by far the most 'human' of the floormasters and its either her or meister seeing over the last main game. And sorry all meister fans (all 2 of you laughing emoji) but I am a Safalin truther !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's dropped too many bomb lines not to possibly have a role in any 'escape endings'.
What I mean by this is that past chapter two, Ranger doesn't have anything to give us really, except Safalin motivation to rebel rise up safalin fans it will be our time
this turned into a Safalin rant very quickly hahaha my bad
tldr Ranger's completed arc is simply too perfectly tragic to be continued in any way. Would I screenshot a mention and stare at it for a very long time because it would probably mean something deeper because Ranger is a reflection of Asunaro's corruption ? Yes. Yes I would. But that's the most I'll take: a mention. I don't wanna see his face again in the main story because I don't need to.. his guest star appearance in 3b was amazing though didn't expect it 10/10

I have to ask about good dog bad dream <3
🥰🥰 oh i was HOPING for this one. ok so y’all may actually know a little bit already because it exists in the tags as tyler borzoituzzi but! good dog bad dream is the working document title/notes compilation for a fic that started with the premise of “well you see that’s actually not a dog that’s my blorbo from my hrpf shifter wolf au—”
and, because i have never formally addressed it or put it anywhere other than the tags, three important details about this fic:
this IS a semi-au fic about the detroit red wings, set vaguely in the 2018-19 season, because the wings sucked that year (but not as bad as 2019-20)
this is ALSO a fic that is mainly about tyler bertuzzi and dylan larkin, with some other wings thrown in because i've never met an ensemble i couldn't shove into a love story
this 100% exists because of mickey redmond calling tyler a junkyard dog every chance he gets and me every time going "okay but what if literally though" -> 🐺

Time after time I think it's just no good
'Cause sooner or later in life, the things you love you lose
But you've got the love I need to see me through"

i’ve still got my hopes that Something can be changed,, but as of right now i’m not looking forward to the update if this is the shit that they’re planning to do
