Avian headcanons [Hurt/injured]

birds breath through muscle pressure, Wich means that anything hurting or pressuring the chest area, even if it's something small, are actually a major problem.

broken ribs if not treated quickly or if they don't manage to calm down and slow their breathing, it can cause them to start suffocating.

cuts or bruses on the chest will make it harder for them to breath and may even stop them from flying.

their legs are also very important. If they break their leg it will make landing properly and hunting pretty much impossible. (But that's kind of a given)

if the broken bones aren't treated quickly they might get severely infected or deformed.

deformed wings make it utterly impossible to fly and may even start to lose feathers.

Rebecca the Raven is a trans lesbian bounty hunter, mourning the loss of her pigeon girlfriend, Phyllis, and struggling with PTSD due to Phyllis' death and the homophobia and transphobia she has endured. What makes it worse is The Grinning Worm, a strange creature she has been paid to capture by the goat-headed mad scientist Dr. Harriet Caprin, who Rebecca sees as the embodiment of her nightmares. However, she may have more in common with The Worm than she first thought.

Inspired by the Earthworm Jim franchise and the disgusting bigotry of its creator.
