Ironstrange in the mcu is hilarious to me because Strange hated tony's guts so much that he let half the universe get dusted himself included so that he could orchestrate tony's death and not have to deal with anymore ultrons or any moronic fascist idea tony would come up with and carry out after wiping thanos out. Strange is the biggest tony anti and is the president of the tony stark hate club.

Honestly, at this point, most MCU pairings are hilarious to me. That's what you get when you make soulless, empty characters. Ironstrange is way up there, but wth is even Ironfrost (Tony/Loki)? Gammafrost (Bruce/Loki)?? I can't even stand most of the canon pairings. But maybe the fault lies in me, shouldn't go to the circus and not expect to see any clowns smh

Hi! Unfortunately I didn't save a lot of Anti Team Cap fics that are Tony-centered. My few bookmarks are mostly Peter defending Tony from them, and one I like is Starkquill (As in Tony × Peter Quill), so idk if I should recommend you that 😅

I recently realised that Pepperony is not an healthy ship (I had my doubts when I first watched IM3) and that Pepper is not an angel and perfect human being as people portraye her to be. But I can't decide weather I don't like her as a character or I just don't like her relationship with Tony. How did you knew you did not like Pepper?

How did I realize I didn’t like her…? That’s an interesting question. To like a character I first have to find something of myself in them (probably because I’m a cosplayer too or because I’ve always spent too many hours analyzing fictional characters’ psyches) and I couldn’t when it came to Pepper. Then the way she behaves was similar to certain patterns I recognized in people I was not in the best terms with and up at this point I came to the conclusion that it was not a character I’d like to see more on screen. And how her relationship with Tony is portrayed did NOT help at all her cause.

As for shipping ironstrange, I’ve been wanting for them to interact since they announced BenC was going to be Strange. I wanted what I used to call “the Sherlock inception” and honestly IW didn’t let me down on this! So yeah, I’ve been shipping them since 2016, I guess?

Cant stop thinking about the idea of an Ironstrange Beauty and the Beast What If!

Stephen in his lust for knowledge and power has turned himself into a beast. He can sometimes keep human form but when his emotions get the better of him he goes full beast and therefore has locked himself away in his castle.

Tony thinks mostly only of his inventions and has either got his head stuck in a book or is creating away in his workshop.

The grandmaster being the most arogant of men has decided the only man handsome enough to be his husband is of course Tony who really wants nothing to do with him!

One day Tony is taking his latest invention out for a spin when it all goes wrong and he ends up at this stange castle trying to take shelter. Que meeting a rsther anti social and terrifying Strange.

Somehow Tonys wit and charm means he's not evicerated straight away and well the teo get to know each other and start to open up and dare say fall for each other.

But Strange knows he's a monster and doesn't want to hurt Tony p;lus he knows Tony has a life outside and a lab full of inventions he's desperate to get back to. So in an act of love he tells Tony to go back and live his own life. More depressed then ever he fully lets the beast take over and wallows alone not realising Tony plans to got pack up all his stuff and move into the castle.

As Tony is getting ready The Grandmaster is all like, look at me, marry me and be mine. Tony tells him he's found someone else who he wants to go be with. Grandmasters is all confused about who could possible be more handsome and amazing than he so Tony uses the magic mirror Stephen gave him to contact him but it show Strange in his demon form wrecking his home out of misery.

Grandmaster is like oh god know I will raise an army and go kill this monster and Tony tries to convince him that Stephen is just hurting and misunderstands Tony intentions when he left. But Grandmaster will hear non of it and has his finest soldiers ready to kill but since Tony is adament that Strange isn't a monster on the inside if Tony agrees to marry him then he will call off the hunt.

Tony agrees but is incapasitated and Grandmaster reveals he's lying and will kill this monster (well let a guard kill it) and Tony will have no choice to marry him.

Tony escapes but at the castle Strange is letting the fight go against him believeing no one could love what he has become. Grandmaster tries to get Strange to believe Tony was just messing with him, could never have loved him when he has him and Strange lets his gaurd down and is nearly melt stick when Tony Turns up to stop the fight tell Strange how he feels get Grandmaster melted and well basically they live happily ever after.

I try not to get too invested with fiction, but the what...if finale makes me want to puke! I keep telling myself it's fiction, but it feels like an awful nightmare.

If it wasn't for Benedict's incredible acting, I would be done with marvel and Stephen Strange. (I'd just retreat into the beautiful world of fanfic.... which is what I'm gonna do)

Ugh. I had a whole reply here, and my PC blue-screened. 2nd time it's done it in 2 weeks; I'm wondering if the poor thing's starting to die. Anyway, sorry it took me a while to get back to you, my RL crap, blah blah blah, energy, blah blah.

Anyway. My points in my original post were:

I was getting Marvel burnout in early 2022 but I figured it'd be revitalized with MoM

It wasn't and I was sorely disappointed with MoM the longer time passed between viewings.

I was also looking forward to Thor 4, and when that turned out to be a total joke, I stopped looking forward to Marvel stuff until I got proof from others that it was actually good stuff. GOTG 3 is the last film I watched since MoM and I haven't watched a full show since Hawkeye. So, yeah, I'm checked out of MCU and I live through fandom instead. I write my own stories and fix its and I worry less and less about post-Snap canon in fanfic.

What got me through that episode in particular were the wonderful Stephen fans at A Strange Server on Discord. We ranted together in the What If thread we had going and just commiserated in our disappointment regarding the episode and how it was presented. I love this community and it's a great place to be for a Stephen Strange fan.

(The community itself is filled with many types of shippers - CleaStrange, IronStrange, ScarletStrange, FrostStrange, as well as non-shippers such as myself, and generally speaking we try to discourage anti-behavior since everyone has their favorites, though naturally there was some snark against Wanda in MoM and Carter with this last What If episode since those were the characters pitted against him. Snark definitely happens from time to time. The only exception to this anti-rule is that there's really no tolerance towards AI art on the server since it's crafted from stolen material, and the artists present are not shy about pointing out this fact).

It is absolutely disheartening when the character tags are so saturated with shipping that it's like those two characters can only come in ~romantic~ package deal. Just refreshing the newly updated fics on the "Doctor Strange (movies)" tag on Ao3 is enough to see what's the preference...

Yeah I've always preferred to go for platonic stuff 😂 for quite some time I managed to put up with shipping long enough to enjoy some fics on that side, but now I'm going through a period of complete romance repulsion. In times of desperation I've even sifted through "not Steve friendly" things, but never managed it for long :P

I want to shake your hand for managing to survive as a fan of Doctor Strange, Steve Rogers and Loki while being anti Tony Stark 🤝 That must be even more rough than just not enjoying shipping 💔

I'm glad you liked the song, it's a classic!

I don't use Ao3 but I can assume all his tags are with Clea. It's very tempting, not gonna lie, given that it's Charlize playing her and she's such a fantastic actress, can't really blame the fans there 😜 But from what I remember when I used to browse the site, it was kind of difficult to find something that wasn't Stephen with Christine or Stark or someone else. It's not easy to navigate when you're in the middle of a "romance repulsion" as you put it but all you see is ships everywhere. I think that's one of the reasons I stopped reading fanfic altogether.

And the worst part about this is that every time I've seen someone try to discuss the overabundance of ships, things get heated so freaking quickly. It shouldn't be so hard to try and understand each other, I'm sure shipping is great for those who do it but there's nothing wrong with someone saying they don't like romance or they would like something else or they prefer their characters to stay as friends and nothing more. It almost feels like for some people it's part of their identity and they see it as a personal attack whenever we express we prefer platonic stuff to romantic, which is a shame because at the end of the day we all want the same thing: for those characters to have a connection of some sort.

I commend you for browsing the 'not Steve friendly' part of fic though, I could never do that myself! I've tried... but I'm so biased when it comes to Steve and it would just make me mad 🤷‍♀️😂

It is rough to be a fan of those 3 and not like Stark, I can assure you. The IronStrange ship shocked me the first time I saw it and it still does, I just don't see how people can think Stephen would like Stark or worse, they claim they're the same? I don't get it, they're nothing alike. They say the same about Steve even though he spent most of the movies looking at him like he was a pest or something, but since he was never allowed to call him out in later movies (especially in IW/EG where he went from trying to stop him from murdering his best friend to calling him "Earth's best defender") it is assumed he realized his mistake and started to like him. Um... I don't think so!

I thought an anti shipper was someone who opposed canonical ships and a pro shipper was someone in support of them and that’s why they fight. Imagine my shock when I realised that an anti shipper is not someone who ships something out of canon such as IronStrange or that a pro shipper is not someone who ships things like Peter Quill/Gamora. I think my perception was cooler.

Basically boil it down in most common sense manner

Pro shipping is basically- ship and let ship no matter how problematic because it’s all revolves around fictional characters. It’s okay you don’t like it just block/blacklist like normal person should

Anti shipping- I hate this ship for many reasons therefore EVERYONE should not like it. If you do die or provide valid reason ( but tbh you shouldn’t do that’s because it’s not healthy) also everything should be squeaky clean and censored

Ok so a idea I have for a Tony Fic (it can be ironstrange and you got to make him a dad to either Peter or Harley and his sister or both)

Ok so Tony is from a long line of Phoenixes and his powers and abilities was dormant and when he snapped it started the process of unlocking them so (the timeline can be whenever but at least after NWH) after a while he wakes back up and has this new power and is confused (he’s completely healed bc Phoenix) and still thinks he has to fight and while he’s not hurting innocent people he is attacking random criminals (he sees them as evil aliens) and that brings the attention of the rest of the avengers and the sorcerers and they tried him but lost 🙄 like come on baddie Tony is to powerful for you!! Wanda then shows up acting like her dumb witch powers are a match for his superior phoenix ���powers and after a 20 minute battle Tony wins but then Peter (or Harley however you want to do this) and is like “dad stop!” And he turns and looks at whoever you put for a long minute then he walks to him and puts him hand on his cheek and says confused “Peter?” Or whoever you do he all is good and well 🥰🥰🥰. Of course that’s just a premise of an idea I have there should be more to explain everything but plz if you do this credit me!!!

It might start with Harley or Peter at his grave and Stephen shows up and they yell that is all his fault and that he should never come back there again give me some angst!!
