I definitely think Jugheads stories were more anti sex and even anti Archie (something must have happened between 50s Jarchie for that level of anger and so many responses I read after the episode were literally "what did Archie do?" (and the fact that Jughead wrote Archie as exploiting his father's death so he could go on a date with someone else) or Jugheads subconsciousness took over and exposed his underlying anger for what happened in the og timeline) more than they were misogynistic. That he was punishing people for being vulnerable is an interesting take. I hadn't considered that but now you mention it, it definitely makes me look at it differently.

Re: the candles, I mean, Jughead does have a thing for fire in the og timeline so that could certainly the explain it.

And I didn't know that about Marilyn reference. So many shippers were talking about it as a good thing but knowing more about it is kind of awkward.

GREAT POINT about Archie using Fred DYING to get a date and get out of trouble!! Omg! And since Jughead doesn't have an honorable father that is remembered in adoration by everyone - do you think it could be jealousy that Jughead twists it up this way? Because in what we've been shown so far, 50s Archie holds the memory of Fred sacred and would not ever do this.

Arthur Miller was NOT, I repeat, NOT a good husband and was NOT kind about Monroe after she passed. At all. And she was insulted by how he seemed to see her when he wrote the part in the Misfits for her. He is not my favorite & has no rights!

I don’t get how you’re mad at Archie when Betty wasn’t even planning to tell jughead about her cheating. She only told him because he was about to find out anyway. Betty didn’t even feel an ounce of guilt about lying to him or about kissing Archie. At least Archie felt bad and told jughead the truth.

I’m mad because Archie clearly didn’t contact Betty to tell her that he was going to tell Jughead first.  Jughead deserved to hear it from Betty, and Betty deserved to tell Jughead first, and Archie would have denied them that just to assuage his own guilt.  Assuage his own guilt, I might add, in a situation where he and Jughead don’t have time to talk it out, even if Jughead’s upset and angry at him, because Archie is about to leave.  Also, because Archie’s about to leave, there’s pressure on Jughead to forgive him anyway because otherwise they part on bad terms.  It was a shitty thing to do, and the only person it would help is Archie.  He didn’t factor Jughead, Betty, or their relationship into it, and that’s shitty of him.

Also, Betty clearly did feel guilty; it’s just that she clearly thought, “Well, I made my choice, it’s done with, there’s no point in bringing it up” and then proceeded to compartmentalize it because that’s how she rolls.  But, if Archie had called her and said, “I’m telling Jughead,” she would have told Jughead first herself, which is what she and Jughead deserved, and I’m glad it’s what happened.

I'm one of the biggest Jarchie shippers out there and I resigned from that ship the moment Archie cut those chains. How dare he side with Hiram Lodge who is only manipulating him over his best friend since childhood?! And I've felt these past few episodes their friendship was forced anyways like it wasn't like season one.

I also think that Jughead is very intelligent to not act out with the cameras rolling but another part of me wishes that he would've snapped and put Archie in his place and not stand there idly while his best friend betrayed him and acted like he was the criminal.

If the point of breaking up the og ships was drama, and we haven't had any yet. Then surely there will have to be some crazy difficult A/B/J fallout from J reading Betty's mind.

I'm really hoping for some jealous Archie if it's jughead who knows about and helps her with her trauma.
