I fucking hate Tony even more after his comments towards Nat about her being a double agent and "sticking to her DNA" Natasha was literally KIDNAPPED and FORCED to be a Widow, it's worse after Black Widow because almost all the Widows were brainwashed and hell Taskmaster was a slave to her own body. The fact that MCU has set the standard for quantity over quality and people just lap it up and even call DC bad just because they not announcing ten-twenty projects at SDCC, really is a concern for how much of a impact the MCU has on films and how people view films and ignore the behind the scenes process it takes to make all these films/shows.

It is disingenuous and intentionally misleading to compare the degree of fandom criticism of characters who the narrative acknowledges to be villains, to the degree of fandom criticism of a deeply harmful and flawed character (played by an actress who has a lot of legitimate criticisms leveled against her) whom the narrative and the majority of the fandom is determined to convince people is the ultimate paragon of virtue and that all critique of her, including her more reprehensible actions, is just "misogyny".

There isn't the same degree of criticism because fans of villainous characters revel in the characters evilness, the majority are not determined to paint them as saints who are incapable of doing wrong. Fans of villainous characters are not going to the degree of defending the actual real-world U.S. government policy of hiring Nazi scientists in the post-war period. You don't see these a majority of these fans saying actual members of the real-world Nazi party, who perpetrated the actual Holocaust, deserved second chances, a privilege not offered to the millions they brutalized and slaughtered.

People are more critical of her because they have to be.

How come for years mcu fans have been saying dark world or age of ultron were terrible, without fear or care if they hurt feelings of fans who liked those movies,

but these days they are uncapable of admitting mcu movies might be bad, even attack you when you critisize new mcu movie/show and say "let people enjoy things".

there's that little bit of interview with Brie Larson showing up multiple times on my FYP, you might know the one. and I'm like, yeah... I won't be surprised if The Marvels is the last movie in which we actually have her. or if Carol's role in the MCU is drastically smaller than they planned it to be.

as much as I love Carol and shit, I'm also like please Brie Larson, sweetheart, get out of the MCU, you deserve so much better.
