For years now I’ve sat to myself and said “Haha, I should belong on Tumblr. I’m so quirky and off brand.” When I look at screenshots I feel like I’m looking at a window into my own home. But now, at the end of Twitter, at the end of Reddit, such as they are for me, I find myself in front of a crossroads. Tumblr, which I have never used, or other, _less savory_ sites, which I seek to avoid. Those here from the reddit blackout, and any others who are afflicted with these words, please bear with me. I’ll cobble together a 50 note post someday.
Hey writers on Tumblr. How do I gradually hint that my main character killed his previous boss, and is suppressing the urge to do it again whenever his mind wanders to the topic?
According to Wikipedia, "Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is a 45-letter made-up word coined in 1935 by the then president of the National Puzzlers' League, Everett M. Smith. It has sometimes been used as a synonym for the occupational disease known as silicosis, but it should not be as most silicosis is not related to mining of volcanic dusts, and no evidence of silicosis has been found in populations exposed to crystalline silica in volcanic ash. It is the longest word in the English language published in a popular dictionary, Oxford Dictionaries, which defines it as 'an artificial long word said to mean a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust'."
So if I say my shifting safe word out loud in public and it’s something fucking ridiculous what happens when I shift back afterwards?? Is everyone just going to be asking me why I’m saying “antidisestablishmentarianism” out loud and clicking my heels together 3 times in the middle of a conflict??
Furthermore, why is it so hard to come up with a good safe word??? I keep trying to think of things I’d never say under just about any circumstances, like “left yankee with none brim”, but now I’m so enamoured with these new phrases I’ve just discovered that I have to say them. When does it end
