anyway if we were able to get a book from mu qing’s pov i guarantee his internal monologue would be the exact same as shen yuan’s. likewise everyone in svsss thinks shen yuan is a cold scheming asshole who doesn’t like anyone because they don’t have access to his internal monologue

Being middle-aged at its finest.
I guess I will be making tadc fanart once an episode releases. I don’t rlly wanna make that much fanart and all so yeah. I like my oc’s and would like to give them attention.
That doesn’t mean I won’t make fanart tho! I have made lots of fanart over the course of years so- yeah I don’t think I won’t be stopping with fanart soon.

Bogwaters Dev Log 22/5/2021
Because apparently I'm doing this thing now (interactive fiction parodying the 2021 Treebark Rise and the "hidden" Discord server that nurtured it)
Tumblr media
I'm trying to make a mini demo version just to test out mechanics and what is feasible. It'll probably last around seven days (June 1 to 7) with individual dashes for each day and 5/6 NPCs you can invite
On June 1, you're pretty much guaranteed to unlock 2 invitable NPCs that act as a tutorial. One of them will accept, the other will reject. The one who rejects you has no negative consequences because it's a tutorial and because they're chill about shipping. The one who will accept should be as obvious as 2021 Tumblr would allow when everyone was on their eggshells
You can make one (1) post each day, which in this game mostly serves to raise "friendship levels" with NPCs. On June 1, you will be given three choices to post— they each correspond to a different NPC with different interests and will give you a slight boost for the one you chose. Your goal is to gain enough friendship to invite them. These will require effort unlike the tutorial NPCs
The first NPC is one who follows and likes you but is skittish about openly shipping. You can increase friendship by posting things they like (since they will see you on their dash), reblogging their posts, and showing your approval, which helps them to open up.
The second NPC is one you follow, is fine with shipping, but doesn't follow you back. You can increase friendship by reblogging from them with nice tags (to tell them you exist since they won't see your posts on their dash). Or you can be mean and they'll block you and you won't get enough people to win.
The third NPC is one you don't follow and they don't follow you back, but you get the vibes they're a covert shipper and you'll need all the help you can get. This one deals with the paranoia of "is this stranger chill or not?" as you frantically hunt into the depths of their socials
Shoutout to my current NPCs platypus-crown (player character aka PC) kindredwaves judasredemption benbiggitybong gayshulkerbox starfish-wizard and 9-blue-blobfish.
I have added block/follow choices which I am lowkey regretting because every post will be forced to do a "have you blocked this user?" check (not feasible with complicated conditional choices). Then again, if you see a post from someone you blocked, it feels like realistic Tumblr bugginess. And you shouldn't be blocking people for no reason because your whole dash will be empty and you'll lose lmao
Altar scene speech is here somewhere. As is gray long and strong #whoremembers
SHIPlakebog. Or whatever.
Future bits:
Yes there will be a MGC this month (Minecraft Gamer Championship). Yes it is Purple Piranhas 15 with Ben Mars River and H2OBomb, making it 3/4 Blue Blobfish 9
Yes Mars will make his stupid jealousy comment and the dash will explode

i don’t mean this in a bad way at all but it makes me very uncomfortable as a native individual to see people typing out the W word (a well known spirit / entity in native folklore). it’s been ingrained in me since i was young we don’t talk abt it or say it and idk i don’t mind if people kin it you do you but it’s like such a bad omen to type out the full name (at least that’s what i was told growing up and ive seen other native people mention this as well) so please keep this in mind when making kinlists i think it would be really appreciated. 🙏

For another ramble.
I feel like once Tweek is older that he wouldn't go see his parents anymore. I mean after years of neglect I just don't see him wanting anything to do with them. I could maybe argue he'd go see his mom but tbh I wouldn't want to see them after finding out they drugged me for my entire life willingly.
I do think he'd go see Craig's parents however because I feel like they showed him what a real home was. Plus I mean in PC they even act liked they hadn't been home in years even though their parents are in the nursing home. But it'd be kind of funny if they went to see Craig's parents there and just Ignored Tweek's.
I feel like in a way Tweek would forgive them enough to free his own guilt but I don't see him wanting to salvage a relationship when they drugged him, Ignored him, routinely scared him on purpose to keep him submissive and scared, joked about sending him to slavery, child labor, etc etc. Anyway, I have big thoughts on his parents and most aren't good.

#the appointment at the psychiatric went well#and he is very easy for me to talk to which is so rare#and he really is a skilled therapist...#i felt a bit lighter after.. the waiting list is still at least a year but cant do anything abt that ..#afterwards i took a detour on my walk home#and stopped by this garden/park in my city#and there were soooooo many birds!!!!!!!#it made me so so happy to just spend some time with the birds#i stood and silently observed them for a while so as they walked around on the ground to find food#they walked right by me and around me#and looked up at me waiting to be given food T-T#i love birds they are so sweet and cute and cool#it makes me so sad how ppl treat them :(((#w my social anxiety and avpd it is hard for me to even feel allowed to exist as i want lol#but after talking w the therapist that actually allows me to exist i felt a tiny bit better#so i didnt care if ppl thought i was weird for standing and looking at the birds so long or giggling bc they were cute#like i get that it sounds weird and lame to do that. like ppl think it's weird that animals make u happy ...#but idk .. birds are better than people 😹 i think it's sad that humans care so little for animals#i also am not good at taking photos around ppl bc i get so anxious and paranoid lok#lol*** so the fact that i could even bring my phone out to take a few poorly taken pics is one step forward 😹#they were so cute tho and there were so many and it was a small moment of joy and i wanted to rmbr it 💗#diary

hi hiii i wanted to say that your account is so refreshing to see, esp with the passion you have for the arts. as someone who's been meaning to read (and write) more poetry, do you have any recommendations? some classics that everyone and their mothers know? perhaps some underrated pieces that changed you? or even just authors you like, I'm very open to suggestions :]]
Hi! Thank you so much for this kind ask :) So exciting that you’re looking to delve deeper into reading and writing! I had to take a little time to answer this because my thoughts were all over the place lol.
For a review of notable/classic poems/poets, I honestly just recommend looking at lists online or, hell, just binging Wikipedia pages for different countries’ poetry if that’s something you’re into, just to get a sense of the chronology. I read one of those little Oxford Very Short Introductions on American Poetry and thought it was pretty good, but online is quicker if you’re just searching for poets or movements to hone in on. Poetry Foundation also has lots of resources, in addition to all the poems in their database. I guess my one big classic recommendation would have to be Emily Dickinson (<3), but really the best move is just to find a poet you already enjoy and then look around to see who their peers were/are, who they were inspired by, who they’ve maybe translated here and there, etc. and follow it down the line as far as you can.
For some personal recs, here are some collections I’ve really enjoyed over the past two years or so. Bolded favorites, and linking where select poems from the book have been published online. But also, if you want a preview of a couple poems from another of the books to see if they interest you, DM me and I can send them over! You can also feel free to pilfer through my poetry tag for more stuff lol
Autobiography of Death by Kim Hyesoon trans. Don Mee Choi
Conflict Resolution for Holy Beings by Joy Harjo
DMZ Colony by Don Mee Choi
Hardly War by Don Mee Choi
Whereas by Layli Long Soldier
Geography III by Elizabeth Bishop
Dictee by Theresa Hak Kyung Cha
Don’t Let Me Be Lonely: An American Lyric by Claudia Rankine
Mouth: Eats Color—Sagawa Chika Translations, Anti-Translations, & Originals by Sawako Nakayasu
The Selected Poems of Osip Mandelstam trans. W.S. Merwin and Clarence Brown
The Branch Will Not Break by James Wright
This Journey by James Wright
God’s Silence by Franz Wright
Duino Elegies by Rainer Maria Rilke (the translation I read was by Alfred Corn—I thought it was great, but idk if there are better ones out there!)
DMZ Colony, Hardly War, Dictee, Don’t Let Me Be Lonely, and partially Whereas are all book-length poems with some prose poetry and varying levels of weirdness/denseness/multilingualism—if you were to pick one to start with, I’d say do Don’t Let Me Be Lonely or Whereas. Mouth: Eats Color is some experimental translations of Japanese modernist poet Chika Sagawa, with other translations and some of Nakayasu’s original stuff mixed in—it's definitely a bit disorienting but ultimately I remember having such fun with it, as much fun as Nakayasu probably had making it. It’s a book that emphasizes co-creation and a spirit of play, and completely changed my attitude towards translation.
If you’re less interested in that kind of formal fuckery stuff though (I get it), can’t go wrong with the other books! Conflict Resolution for Holy Beings is the one I read most recently, and it’s great—Harjo also featured in Round 1! Franz Wright also featured, and God's Silence is the collection which "Night Walk" comes from. James Wright (father of Franz) is one of my favorite poets of all time, though his poetry isn’t perfect. Even so, I’m honestly surprised he’s not doing numbers on Tumblr—Mary Oliver was a big fan of his, even wrote her "Three Poems for James Wright" after his death.
I mentioned in another post that one of my favorite poets is Paul Celan, so I’ll also recommend him here. I read Memory Rose into Threshold Speech which is a translated collection of his earlier poems, but it’s quite long if you’re just getting to know him as a poet—fortunately, both Poetry Foundation and Poets.org have a ton of his poems in their collections. There’s also an article by Ilya Kaminsky about him titled “Of Strangeness That Wakes Us” (!!!!!) that’s a great place to start, and is honestly kind of my whole mission statement when I’m reading and writing poetry. Looking at the books I’ve recommended above, a lot of them share feelings of separateness or alienation—from others, from oneself, from one’s country, from language—that breed strange, private modes of expression. That tends to be what I’m drawn to personally, and that’s some of what Kaminsky talks about.
Sorry of the length of this—I hope it's useful as a jumping-off point! And if you or anyone ends up exploring any of these poets, let me know what you think! If folks wanna reply with recommendations themselves too that'd be great :)

Whenever things aren’t too busy the boys will go to Gene when they need something sewn, like holes in their clothing or reattaching patches. They know how to do it themselves, but Gene’s got so much practice that by the time he’s done you can’t even tell the clothing was damaged in the first place. He does enjoy it and takes his time with this sort of needlework, falling into a slow and smooth rhythm because what’s the rush? It gives him something constructive to do with his hands and it feels nice to breathe new life into something without all the blood.
