uhhh tumblr hasn’t made me stop liking any that i’ve been in but i saw the shitshow that was voltron and decided to stay a mile away. now twitter on the other hand really soured my opinion on bg3 & mouthwashing, and while i still enjoy the latter you’d have to hold me at gunpoint to get me to play the former.

Hi, I’m Artemis.  I’m figuring out this tumblr thing.  I’ve lurked for a long time, but I wanted to be able to write my many thoughts about FFXIV without word-vomiting at my FC discord all the time, so here I am.  I play on Mateus, Crystal Datacenter.  I might go into my characters later, we’ll see.  I’m also working on carrds for them.

I'll probably mostly talk about FFXIV here, but I wanted to be clear where I stand on those things because they are an important part of who I am as a person.

About me:

I've been on the internet since 1995. It was via a BBS and really only had access to Archie, but I'm counting it.

I'm a gamer. My first game was Rogue on a terminal workstation in the server room where my dad worked for Southern Bell when I was 5 or 6. I'm not quite PCMasterRace; I have a PS4 and a Switch, but I'd rather play on my PC given the option. Right now, I am absolutely obsessed with FFXIV, but not in any productive way (like, I'm not gearing up to raid or anything, I'm just replaying the story over and over). I also can't wait for Elden Ring in February, even though it's going to kick my ass.

I'm a gamer (the second): tabletop style. Right now, D&D 5e is my system of choice, though I really cut my teeth on Earthdawn back in college and I have a huge amount of nostalgia for it. My partner GMs for us and is amazing at it.

I'm sometimes a programmer. I primarily use PHP, and no, I don't need to hear, for the millionth time, about how it's a useless terrible language and only idiots use it, thank you. It gets the job done, and I have a terrible allergy to significant whitespace so Python is very difficult for me.

I'm sometimes a writer, though I am very sensitive about posting anything that I write because anxiety. I'm hoping to combat that a little here, because Endwalker has inspired my writing more than anything has in years. We'll see.

I talk too much. It's documented. I try to curb the word vomit when I can, but sometimes it just has to get out.

I love G'raha Tia. I love a lot of FFXIV characters, but Raha is my boy. It made me very happy that he finally realized he wasn't a grad student anymore and could have more than ramen for dinner.

I love cats. I am owned by two: Mozzie (like the character from White Collar) and Anya (the vengeance demon). There will probably be photos at some point.

hewwo it’s been so long!!!!!!!!!!!! i’ve been on break since like.... a long periodically time ago but i couldnt find d motivation to pick up d pencil but I FINALLY DID IT!!!! im kinda proud of me heh

anyways i’ve been playin ffxiv on d ps4 for the longest time n just made a new character named a’diona tyanu (i added the ‘ bc all miqotes have dat shit in their names KSKSKSSK i just wanna b extra uwu) N HERES HOW MY BABY LOOKS!!!! 

SHE ISNT MY MAIN BUT I LOVE HER!!!! ((i should also get 2 drawin my main qirlie anya soon hehe)) i plan to make her a crackhead LMFAOOO. not a druggie but she acts like she got 2 braincells all the time (which i intend to name cai and llou)

BUT YE thats the reference i used to draw her!! so here she is!! i tried rlly hard I SWEAR tbh one of the few reasons why i play this game is bc i can develops ocs thru it!!

GOSH i know i still cant draw lips or eyes OR a face shape BUT I SWEAR IM TRYIN!!!!!! its so difficult to get clean lines too... ONCE I GET GOOD IN DRAWIN ITLL BE OVER FOR YALL BITCHES!!!!

heres a shitty rambling list of archetypes id think my characters would fit into if they were in a fighting game. i have loads of ocs and i didnt even mention them all here

diana: all rounder / slightly rushdown (??) rekka character with no projectile eg. ex kyo

vincent: literally just the standard all rounder shoto. eg. ryu

frankie: annoying defensive trap zoner with a mix of charge and backwards motion inputs. eg. venom

simone: simple grappler / rushdown hybrid. eg. laura and shermie

zhenjin: pure rushdown glass cannon with high damage output but low health. eg. chipp. has plenty of mixup options by incorporating the mudra system from the ninja job class in ffxiv

moritsuchi: slow w/ decent range but extremely powerful attacks. eg. maxima and wan-fu.

passionfruit: keep out zoner that makes heavy use of projectiles. eg. hawkeye. also a stance character that incorporates step actions from the ffxiv dancer job.

yehn'sae: extreme glass cannon that functions similar to phoenix in umvc3

six: another zoner, but is instead a puppet character and fights with his drone. eg. bridget

00+01: stance character, but instead of stances the player switches between 00 and 01. they fight differently but share the same health bar. eg. lei and vega

anya: pretty slow grappler specialist that can also be considered a vortex / mixup character. eg. king

erika: charge based footsie character. eg. chun li

ive run out of ideas honestly i tend to gravitate towards shotos and rushdowns you can tell i play kof

A one shot that came to me one day whilst playing FFXIV, with the only connections between FFXIV and The 100 being that Lexa and Clarke were on opposite sides and fell in love, and that Clarke is the Sky Princess. That’s really all I needed to come up with this. Might eventually turn it into something more if enough people support the idea, otherwise it will be a oneshot forevermore.

Also, all the Ye Olde English is how the characters in FFXIV actually talk, so it’s not just for the sake of me messing with you, I promise :D
