Imagine after all the seasons are over and Johnlock are old and have finally talked about their feelings and properly, actually, gotten officially together

(and subsequently gotten married in like 2 months cause Sherlock filled out the paperwork while John was not actually at home and then actually having a discussion about it when John finds out it happened cause Sherlock casually mentions it and actually agrees after Sherlock mentions (read: steamrolls over him, anxiously) them practically already being married by common law and just officialising it for the tax benefits... they only have a proper wedding, maybe on their/an anniversary when Mrs Hudson finds out probably 6 months later or sth and complains,, but I've gone on a tangent again)

Anyway Rosie is a teenager, with after-school activities and a phone.

I'm just imagining Sherlock dragging John out on a murder case (read: date) and deciding to feed him midway through (like always, tbh,, sth sth that post about feeding the depressed man that tends to forget to eat but I digress)

So Rosie gets a text and a voicemail from the two of them (cause Sherlock prefers to text and tell me John is not the sort to leave voicemails, like he would have put it on the voicemail machine if they had one he's so old man sometimes)

And it goes something like:

"Hi honey, it's Dad.

Sorry we won't be able to make it to dinner with you, your father's got a case and you know how he gets...

Anyway, Mrs Hudson is going out tonight remember, so your Papa is booking the usual table at Angelo's for you... You still like the Spaghetti Bolognese right?

Don't worry about us, we'll eat before we get home. And the reservation is at 7, so don't be late. This will probably take a while so don't wait up either and go straight to bed young lady, you hear me?

Anyway I think it would be very cute, like they love and care about her, even if they're old men who laugh at crime scenes and whose ideal date is trying to catch a murderer together, and they show it by taking a moment to make sure she's fed with her favorite food even when they're busy solving crime, so yeah.

I'm watching the episode where Dorothy has a lesbian friend and asks Sofia "how would you react if you were told one of your kids was gay" 😭 literally "I am definitely not a lesbian but random question just wondering how would you react if I was haha?"

Aaa omg I was watching this episode the other day and I have so many thoughts about Sophia & Dorothy in that (+ some other) scenes!! You're so right anon, it's an amazing moment 😂 and I spent waaaay too much time overthinking Sophia specifically in this! I hope you don't mind me rambling too much but:

The bed scene!!! The bed scene!! Dorothy seems very concerned about Jean having feelings for Rose — so much so that she needs to know Sophia's reaction to her kids' hypothetical queerness to be somewhat comforted. Her own line of questioning, and the way she stays quiet for a while as Sophia assumes it's Dorothy who's queer, says a lot already. Obviously, and as you pointed out! I mean, she let Sophia go on for quite a while there before finally stating she's not gay. But Sophia's reaction says a lot too!

Sophia reacts dismissively at first. She jokes, she mocks a bit, she tells Dorothy to "stick with what she knows" because she assumes this to be the truth. This is Dorothy coming out to her — and Sophia's never been able to cope with an emotional situation without mocking it at least a little. Then, when she thinks Dorothy isn't telling the truth (or Dorothy pretends not to be; let's assume here that Sophia does think Dorothy might be queer and is simply playing along. She's made so many jokes about it at that point already, you can safely assume she suspects something at the very least) she suddenly switches gears to a very earnest reaction instead. Dorothy is comforted by this, but the moment she reacts earnestly to Sophia's reaction, Sophia snaps back into her dismissal.

So I guess what I'm trying to say here is: you could read this as Sophia's very very disguised acknowledgement to the fact that she knows Dorothy might be queer. Sophia dismisses any sort of genuine emotional moment, and seems to be able to express her own genuine feelings only when Dorothy dismisses the moment for her ("I'm not gay"). She snaps back into dismissal the moment Dorothy shows a genuine reaction to her open acceptance again, but it's interesting to note the momentary shift in her reaction after Dorothy denies being gay!

Day 4 - AU!

i know i've made so many posts to this effect before but. it's so wild to me how soon your life can change and how. almost unsettling? happiness can feel after you've been achingly alone and depressed for so long. i've found it's like a dam bursting. all of a sudden i'm able to do things i never would have just six months ago.

today i got the train to class with a friend, after class a group of us went out for lunch for someone's birthday and then to a coffee shop. then i went to a coffee shop by myself and didn't feel self-conscious or awkward at all, i just sat there reading my book. then i made my way to the gallery i just got a job in, they were having a private opening for their new exhibition. i talked to someone from my course i've barely talked to before, and she was going out with some of her friends after the event and invited me along and. i just went! without even feeling anxious!! a place i didn't know with only one person i kinda know and all her friends and i went and it was good and i had a really nice time!!! i got the train back home by myself in the dark.

just six months ago i wouldn't have gone out to lunch with friends after class. i wouldn't have been able to kill time by myself in a café without being insanely anxious the whole time. i wouldn't have even applied for a public speaking job, let alone go to an event late at night on the other side of the city. and i NEVER would have spontaneously gone out drinking with people i barely knew. but now.... yeah sorry for going on about it but i'm honestly almost like a completely different person. i got a message today out of the blue from a friend back home. she said she's so happy for me and how well i'm doing now. i almost cried because it's really true but i didn't know anyone else had noticed (and i thought i was doing a really good job hiding how bad i was doing before but. i guess not lmao). yeah it's just. it's a lot. my heart is so full

mufasa for the character bingo :)

mufasa is chill :) he is prime dad material and i genuinely love his design and personality so much. he's not just a majestic king, he's a friend!

speaking of which, i like to think of him interacting with the old leaders. the vibe that mufasa gives off tells me that he was good friends with all the other leaders in the pridelands. of course, as usual i think about the crocs and i imagine him and pua being on really great terms!

i don't have much to say about him, i wish we knew him more. i was originally excited about the mufasa movie, but the approach disney took and also their funding of israel and such has put me off. if disney wasn't a shit company, i probably wouldn't mind the upcoming movie. i enjoy live action, genuinely, but i definitely agree that the original animation style is better at telling the story. the only reason i like the lion king remake is because we already have the original film, you know? if i grew up on just the live action it would never have had the same impact on me. not to mention that the plot of the mufasa movie makes zero sense lol. but. i just want mufasa content :( yet, i feel like literally any tlk fan could do the movie better than the actual company. hell, hire the animator who made the lion king musical animation because fuck are they talented. but yeah. there's my one cent
