Somewhere between Eddie’s late nights at band rehearsal and your early morning diner shifts, you’ve both been too exhausted to properly fuck when you do see each other, barely time for a spare handjob in the past week. You still haven’t told him the full story of the mall fire, yet- or about the underground world simmering beneath the surface. anyway. i thought up some personal skills for the 2nd gen. these are all made within the context of 3h as that's the au that's been swimming about in my head for several weeks hence any reference to those mechanics but pls enjoy :) :)

gee, lucina, how come mum lets YOU bring the overpowered game mechanic to other games--

basically just the engage chain attack feature as lucina there is The Chain Attack Emblem. killassisting killstealing left and right. would serve really well with 3h's love of chunky hp monsters. the weapon durability aspect is kind of incentive to always have her equip falchion (3h regalia should NOT have limited durability and in THIS essay i will--) or a forged training weapon as the damage is fixed.

this probably could transfer to fateswakening where this would proc on top of normal dual strikes, but another option i thought up for her would be the ability to dual strike for anyone as long as the targeted enemy is within her movement range (i.e. she can dual strike without being adjacent to an ally)

owain

i wanted to make the fateswakening trio's skills distinct from their fates counterparts... though i wouldn't be able to use aching blood in a 3h setting anyway as it has no weapon naming feature. truly tragic.

this is probably self-explanatory: owain does extra damage when using any attack that has a name bc He Gets Excited. it would apply to each individual strike rather than the total damage number, and part of me wonders if this would make 3h-astra actually viable.

also, rip to like half the crests in 3h which have this exact effect but separate and worse since they're a non-guaranteed proc. we honour your sacrifice so owain could rise

inigo

3h's authority makes rally skills pretty easy to get, but the fact they only affect one unit means i barely use them and it makes me sad. inigo deserves his funky little rallies and he will GET his funky little rallies.

this skill would also apply to the stat boost from special dance (though not the dance effect itself).

not much else to say. i just think this skill is neat

brady

this is basically the skill stealth, which is otherwise exclusive to the thief/assassin/trickster classes in 3h. it puts the unit at the bottom of the priority list for enemy attacks so they will only be attacked if there are NO other viable targets.

great for a healing brady. i always put him in a support role so this is perfect for me. less great if you want brady to be a combatant as it limits what you can do on enemy phase, but you could still use it to your advantage

i just have this image of enemies seeing a healer on the battlefield, going to attack them, and then being hit by this Stare of Promised Violence that makes them back off and decide to attack,, idk. fucking dedue instead. and brady is sitting here confused bc he didn't do anything (it's just his normal face)

this skill means she takes the damage but doesn't get movement sealed or debuffed or anything after being hit by a gambit. Not Even The Force Of Ten Dozen Men Charging Will Faze You.

a fateswakening equivalent i considered would be preventing specifically armour-effective damage i.e. from hammers or armourslayers, so they just deal normal damage instead (or, in fates' case, the weapons get hit with the non-effective target debuff).

basically a stronger but more situational variant of elise's and flayn's lily's poise. all about protecting the vulnerable, plays into her more sensible (read: comparative to owain) idea of heroism.

i personally like this a lot bc i always always go falcon knight cynthia (it feels better) and cynthia with a healer flavour... mwah.

i'm generally a massive fan of aura skills (i.e. buffs to allies within a certain range of a unit) and this is the type of skill that could definitely save your units after an unfortunate mistake

THE COUNTERPART TO BERUKA'S PERSONAL THAT SELENA SHOULD HAVE HAD. NO I WILL NOT TAKE CRITICISM they did her SOOO dirty with her fates personal--

aside from being perfect personality-wise (she WILL prove she is better than others--), this also syncs well with most classes severa will find herself in. swords are pretty much wholly 1-range weapons, so are usually facing a counterattack, except the levin sword...but nobody is rushing to give her that. (she has a 10% MAG growth in awakening, which is quite literally the lowest available...)

i wanted to name this competitive but apparently that's takumi's personal skill name. so rude of him

he's studied dragons + minervikins so hard he knows how to fight beside them in a way that lets them fight to the fullest. also he gets so secretly happy (and it is secret do not tell a soul) to be next to a dragon that he too fights better.

this would apply equally to wyvern units and units that are dragons in non-dragon classes e.g. a mage nah.

3h's limits on spell learning means this basically has a cap of +10 in the late game, but even that is still mega broken. this skill would serve as a really strong incentive to train his reason/faith in the early game and the extra power you get from learning spells would scale well as you progress further.

now that the meta is out the way, this skill is like when a character (not necessarily a fe one) gets a new skill in a game and there's this super exaggerated powerup sound effect and a victory quote, and you're just like... 'all you learned was how to wear heavier armour' but with THIS skill it's actually VALID

knowledge = power and also justification for laurent joining the cast of fodlan characters found near exclusively in the library

it's a little criminal that awakening wasn't able to give us something that reflects noire's blood and thunder state in combat aside from her crit quotes, so this is what i came up with.

the more she fights, the more BLOOD AND THUNDER she gets.

it makes the most sense that her offense would be the one boosted, and even though she's an archer she can fill a good role as a mixed attacker (i WISH awakening had a shining bow), hence STR/MAG being boosted. i briefly considered SPD, but noire has one of the best base speed growths in the game anyway (before growth inheritance; she's on par with lon'qu and a speed-boon robin, and weirdly only beat out by PANNE with 55 base speed for some reason) so it'd be a little redundant when she already doubles everything

nah

this is based off that odd quirk of nah's where she always forgets she can turn into a dragon. i think of her support with f!morgan all the time, where she spends ages trying to learn how to catch a wyrmslayer and in the end realises it was a wasted effort bc she doesn't even fight in her human form and her dragon arms are too small to do what she learned.

"until engaging in combat" applies to combat initiated with nah on either player OR enemy phase. you'd have to have her avoid combat completely for this skill to build up. it would apply to offensive non-damaging magic e.g. silence, but wouldn't apply to healing, so nah could spend her time doing that.

this is a skill you need to dedicate yourself to using yourself, but in the hypothetical scenario where she's a boss, this skill is absolutely terrifying. especially if you took all the limiters off. it would actually make for a very fun map i think--the best fe maps are those that make you go on the offensive IMO, but that's not exactly what this post is about, so i'll move on.

f!morgan

i've made separate skills for the morgans because their supports are different enough that they feel like different characters to me, even if just slightly. it's why i always like them as twins.

what i wanted with the morgans is a skill that hints at what they were before losing their memory and joining the shepherds. for this one, though she is a wyvern lord in future past 2 she is a malig knight in my heart. they just hadn't yet invented malig knights when they made her. this skill is based on its lvl15 skill, savage blow. (to be clear, the 5 extra damage would also apply after combat).

this is a fun one that's good for crowd control and mopping up large groups of enemies, especially with the existence of 3h canto where you can just swoop out of enemy range after obliterating their movement.

it's a very fitting skill if you have morgan in, say, a wyvern class or even dark flier. but if you put her in a dainty little base pegasus knight class... the image of a fragile little pegasus that will fall to like two axes hunting people down is kind of hilarious. sorry morgy

m!morgan

last but not least, the son himself... likewise to f!morgan, i wanted this skill to reflect who he was before the shepherds. he's a sorcerer in the future past 1, which is why i wanted this skill to be dark magic based. both morgans having skills that debuff enemies is another intentional choice.

it's loosely based upon the -taker skills. this skill isn't as powerful as them (you get less stat per proc and the cap is smaller) but you can gain the boosts without delivering the killing blow and you have more variety in what boosts you can get. morgan tends to be a jack-of-all-trades like robin, so an all-round boost is good for him.

past morgan was probably pretty scary with this, but present morgan without a hint of memory now just goes around Yoinking enemy stats. Morgan Says Teehee Mine Now. as he should :)

i've talked about that before on this blog, in this post specifically (with extra links for context so maybe check it out) and it's still something that i think about A Lot. in that post, i describe it as a source of Mutual horror, i.e. "you were created to both bring out the best in someone and to keep each other shackled to someone else’s incomprehensible idea of normalcy." and when i say incomprehensible, i really do mean incomprehensible; going by a few posts clown's made in the past, the idea of gender being tied to presentation and vice versa seems to be a foreign one to the playfellow puppets - and yet, this does not seem to prevent them from the consequences of being Perceived a certain way. it's also probably worth mentioning that if the 2022 pride art is to be believed, then neither frank or julie are cis, either (for whatever the playfellows puppets' definition/equivalent of "cis" is, anyway.)

i would be lying if i said i haven't thought about Several ways this could all play out; how it could affect both of them as individuals, their other relationships, their pre-existing friendship. i won't go over all of those here bc this post would be way too fucking long otherwise, but i will say that i think that they would have been friends regardless of whether or not the show decided they were (and regardless of whether or not the show wanted friends or "friends."*) i don't think either of them start out Aware that they're "supposed" to be together. i think they are likely made aware of it later on - of how they are seen. in this way, it's a good example of what i meant when i previously described welcome home feeling like a setup for some cosmic horror-as-coming of age shit (or coming of age as cosmic horror??) for example, in this particular context, i saw A Lot of these two scenarios when it came to growing up queer and/or closeted, especially in an unsafe environment: 1. and i know a lot of people who DO ship them as a triad and honestly i adore that too i just love the three of them in general but i usually portray them as a poly-v and that’s totally fine too!!! i know it can be a bit jarring to see a character you don’t expect or don’t feel fits in a polycule but you gotta remember there’s context….there are tons of different possibilities and there’s no reason for us to apply monogamous rules to a relationship where the entire POINT is to have a healthy loving relationship without conforming to monogamy!!!!

Like im femme4butch I'm obviously a big enjoyer of fun with gender performance but I do feel like ultimately your options are like "I'm expected to be in group A but group B feels at least somewhat less terrible to me" or "neither group A nor group B feels at all comfortable for me" or "existing sometimes in group A and sometimes in group B depending on the context is preferable to me" etc. and each of those encompasses a host of internal experiences of gender but it just skips feeling like that is something fundamental that we automatically owe each-other and require to understand each-other and decides that actually in terms of interactions with other humans our efforts are best placed in facilitating others moving through the world in a way that's most frictionless for them. and internally within the LGBT community who even cares because its only recently that cis gay people have even had a category resembling cisness open to them bc previously manhood and womanhood were so inherently contingent upon heterosexuality (spoiler: they still are it's just you can at least theory cut out the gender of attraction and replace it). i think this is why people are increasingly identifying with terms like transsexual again because it DOES feel relevant to their identity that much of their lived experience is organised around moving through the world as other than their cagab. ithink once you acknowledge that gender isn't defined for you (either by your genitals or like your Male Brain or Female Soul or whatever) then it kind of turns the concept of what even is gender into soggy cardboard anyway, and trying to articulate the specific qualities of ur handful of soggy cardboard is largely pointless in comparison to what container youre going to put it in. and if that begs the question of why we're putting soggy cardboard into all these different containers anyway, well then there you go

Nothing wrong with self-inserting for a ship (harmless activity in the long run) but also I think this fandom would be more normal if we realized every ship is so thinly drawn that it’s just us taking whatever dynamic appeals to us and molding it however we want. Which is very fun! That’s the appeal of shipping in the first place. I actally think ASOIAF in general is the perfect fandom for shippers, because there’s a case to be made for literally everything, and usually enough of a base that you can play around and do what you want.

if we are to be honest, ship wars have probably existed since the dawn of fandom and will probably never disappear as a phenomenon. there's always going to be some peevish troublemaker somewhere with no manners making sport of other people's harmless pasttime. i keep giving harry potter examples bc, as a millennial, it was the first fandom i interacted with, but, even then, people were clawing each other's eyes out over harry/hermione and harry/ginny (harmony vs chocolateers or whatever the hell they were calling themselves lmao). anyway, it was as pointless then as it is now, but, when you're young, at least you can say it had its entertainment value for a while.

that being said, if you're over 13 years old and have been in fandoms for more than a hot minute, you should have accumulated enough wisdom to recognize & accept that people have shipped and will be shipping all sorts of wacky combinations anytime anywhere. so just be sensible about it. there's no need to like every ship just as equally there's no need to be personally offended when someone doesn't share the same tastes as you.

now, when it comes to helaemond, i'm a bit flabbergasted by this critique, as a matter of fact. she IS a pretty under-developed character, in the sense that she receives little screen time and we are told rather than shown what she's like. but show!helaena has received some pretty distinctive traits like the gift of prophecy and an insect hobby. idk but it doesn't sound like a blank slate over which shippers can so easily project their own personality. do detractors really think this site is crawling (lol) with people fascinated by many-legged creatures? or who are uniquely melancholic because they are tortured by visions beyond their understanding? a bunch of entomologist cassandras just hanging out on this hellsite? i realise that this specific userbase holds many neurodivergent fans, but, it still seems to me that many critics haven't even read much helaemond fic, bc helaena is not exactly depicted as the girl next door. maybe i'm biased here but, at least with luke, i can see it more because he does kind of have an everyman vibe. 🤷‍♀️

i think re-watching avatar when they dropped it on netflix a few years ago was eye-opening for me in a lot of ways like sooo many of my opinions radically changed and not even necessarily in a way where it was an outright polarized switch but more like.. added depth to how i felt. which makes sense bc i mean i was seven years old when i watched the show and i'm twenty five now lmao. but with katara i kind of found myself on the fence between the two camps that were so vehement about justifying why katara worked better with either boy that i think they more or less forgot about her. like i don't entirely disagree with zootara shippers that katara's role being so diminished in post-canon was irritating but at the same time that's not something it makes sense to blame kataang being canon on. kataang is probably one of the most obv ships ever in retrospect like the buildup was so palpably there and katara was never going to choose anyone else but aang. but i also think it can be admitted that her post-canon storylines were just.. super boring? and that it had to do a lot with bryke being resistant to radicalism in their material in general. keeping the gaang together or taking them on group adventures for marketability purposes was obv impt but i feel like katara was one of the members who like really needed to do her own thing after the war was over. like there were so many times in the series where it seemed like she was having her moment to shine and there would always be some caveat or wedge to throw so she could move on with the gaang and for central narrative purposes i get that but why did that have to apply to whatever she did after (also this doesn't even get into the fact that bryke's liberal politics affected her individual storylines so much like the jet and hama stuff. very bad vibes). like i already said i think kataang was pretty much inevitable and the build up in seasons one and two and even the confusion of feelings between them at the start of season three were great but i also don't think they needed to be in a relationship by the end of the series personally like it felt so rushed and honestly very corny. like they're thirteen and fourteen years old they have so much time. i like the gaang a lot as a concept but the overwhelming feeling i was left with when the series was over was that the fallout of the war would be so significant it wouldn't realistically make sense to have them all in one place like there are so many things each of them would need or want to do. and ig bryke kinda acknowledged that like the gaang did have some individual gigs. but it all felt so tame. katara was potentially the most radical member of the gaang i really do not think she would have ended the war being in some honeymoon phase she would have been ready to get working on uprooting all of the bad and where they'd found it and aggressively reconstructing the society she worked so hard to try to save. but also on the most simplest note i could leave here i genuinely think every avatar character needed therapy / soul searching more than they did romance by the end of the series so ig this is my very roundabout way of saying that..

Technically he’s kinda homeless (if he settles down he’ll forget to keep searching for one of his best friends who went missing in the war, so he just. Doesn’t.)

He works as a (robot) preschool teaching assistant on the moon

and he wanted so bad to make his boss (Forklift) proud of him that he went and got his (human) preschool teaching certificate on earth

and also got forklift certified for good measure. Just in case it was important.

Lowkey the first thing he did after fighting a massive civil war for four million years was find a random catboy (disgraced war criminal/assassin)(Sweets) in a wet box on the side of the road and go “hi! We’re friends now. You wanna go to the other side of the galaxy with me to get back to my brother and best friend?”

“Quit your job” “why” “join my emo band” (Sweets did. (He’s on bass.) They have exactly two fans.)

They kind of live together now (Hots slept on his couch for a couple nights and just never wound up leaving)

He found out about all of the war crimes and massive body count in a very emotionally charged confession moment and went “…okay but you’re my buddy so like?”

He was briefly his best friend’s (Flashdrive’s) supervisor on a normal job before the war. Neither of them remember this even a little bit. Even though his little brother and Flashdrive’s qpp were close friends the entire time.

They met again during the war and got assigned on one (1) singular mission together

i have 3 alarms in a row set to make me wake up at like 8, 8:10 &  8:15 & i had what felt like really long dreams in between each of them. i don’t remember them that well bc i had to drive to work & traffic was really bad so brain cells i could have spent remembering my dreams in detail were instead spent on road rage. anyway

1. i don’t remember the context at all, but there was a post of some kind that prompted me to take a dark & gloomy & blurry selfie from lying in my bed at 7am on snapchat & caption it “fuckign glyphid warden outside my window again” (there was not one in the picture, but there were several glyphids about the size of cats running across my pillow & those were clearly visible). i sent this picture to someone that i don’t have on snapchat & was thanked profusely. i looked closely at the picture to see how sludgy i looked & the picture started applying like 40 “anime girl cartoon” filters (not like the ai from recently, but like snapchat ones that would lighten your skin & shrinkle your nose & make your eyes a little bigger) & i was like NO NO NO STOP IT 

2. i unlocked super epic rick from rick & morty skin but wearing a costume of one of those loaf shaped beanbag animals with the HUGE sparkly eyes, as in the costume was just a huge one of those & he was just standing in the middle of it & it was suspended off the ground somehow, in fortnite 3, a fortnite knockoff that was focused on difficult team-based minigames rather than whatever fortnite is actually for. and you could roll gacha for the skins. there were a lot of anime girls. it was like a carnival area or something where you had to approcah some kind of confusing mechanism with a party of up to 4. there were many such mechanisms in the area, which kind of seemed like a large building that used to have animals kept in it, but now all that was left was dirt & hay on the ground & a vague animal smell. there were yellow string lights but they felt dingy rather than like....warm & cozy i guess. my sister & i were playing & she had a regular rick from rick & morty & she laughed at my weird freak rick from rock & morty. we were at the only thing that looked familiar, which was like a small wrestling ring with a scary mchine hooked upto it, & we tried that minigame. it was really difficult. 

3. something about the empty guest room in my mom’s house, & there was some kind of event. my car wasn’t in the usual spot i park in at my mom’s house, it was like half off the right side of hte driveway on the grass. the doors were open. this is unrealistic i could see my sister approach my car from the dining table (i cannot see that in real life) & she walked over & start punching  it, so i hollered REALLY LOUD to stop doing that i am clearly not in my car stop punchng her she’ll explode. my dad gave me a lemon, which would supposedly prove invaluable in today’s trials. i was cutting it open with a knife & it had the texture of a baked potato. the event was ending soon & i thought that i needed to catch up on it, but i was like ancchored? to the house. i was in slug time i couldn’t find the motivatoin to actually leave but i needed to leave...!!! that’s how i feel in the mornings on the way to work too. anyway then it got dark out 10pm& i ws like agaoguaghaoguhg

ive said it before and ill say it again- phantom is victim to the same thing that happened to dave homestuckboy, people see a cool exterior and then incessantly and permanently characterize him as said cool exterior even though it becomes VERY FUCKING OBVIOUS that its a massive front for some deep deep problems. (you could probably draw a line between dave n phantom and maybe find a common archetype ancestor but i dont. want to.) (also my note on the overrated thing applies to this interpretation mostly)

point is, hes got a mask, the mask doesnt come off when you know its a mask, and he may not entirely recognize how much of it is the mask and how much is just him, but it is absolutely 100 fucking % a mask. take it off and he would be woefully unprepared to face the world. i doubt he's been given a granule of sincere no-strings-attached affection for years and years, likely why kindness from someone like aria moved him so much- it was genuine, and it was so new, and he kept coming back bc hes had a taste of love and needs more and aaAAAAAA..... (do i put too much stock in one off lines? maybe? phantom strikes me as the kind of guy to regularly hide nerves and anxiety behind a calm facade the way he says hes doing in the literal, like, first few things he says. and maybe only lets his anger slip when it does because he considers it justified which, hey, thats a whole nother can of worms to tackle there buddy)

im nervous how the writers will handle him from here on, because his characterization in his old story and the old explorer story was top notch and what is elsewhere is......... not. again, pretending his charming persona is Him, as well as reducing the sum of his anger and sadness to things pertaining to aria and nothing else. it REALLY felt like fanon for a while. (again, a ship reducing a character to what they can give to another character... which is aria in this case. now THATS a character thats massively wasted potential. runaway ex-empress master thief aria when)

I've finished reading TGCF in record time (for me) and now idk what to do cause it was my hyperfixation and now that I'm done I'm depressed.

Anyways all that aside, since it's literally permeated my brain to the point it's rotting, any song I hear makes me think of it and here are my top few recent ones that I really love

Without further adieu, Songs That Remind Me of Heaven Official's Blessing:

1) Everything In You - HalfShy, Adventure Time. Lyrics:

Explanation: Pretty straightforward, it's Hua Cheng's perspective. He's dedicated to the max. Though the intention here differs from the original context of the song in AT, it still applies. The tragedy here is not stemming from their relationship, but damn these two are poster children for tragic back stories.

2) J's Lullaby - Delaney Bailey. Lyrics:

Explanation: again, very applicable to Hua Cheng's perspective. This song is one of the most intensely dedicated and heartfelt love songs and Hua Cheng is maybe the most loyal person to ever exist (800 years and not a single negative thought about Xie Lian, never a doubt in his mind of how much he loves him or if he should give up). Seriously, this song fits SO well I feel like to explain it would be redundant.

3) Little Life, Cordelia

Explanation: So, this one for me made me think of Xie Lian and the domestic little life he has with Hua Cheng and how much that means to him. This one isn't just lyrical, it's the whole sound and feeling of the song which is why I included it instead of writing the lyrics.

4) Slipping Through My Fingers - ABBA/Meryl Streep (both versions are good). Lyrics:

Explanation: This one's a lot different as this actually made me think of Xie Lian's mom. Seeing her son grow into a god and witnessing the distance grow between them. She was fully supportive and had so much love for her son, but he grew further and further away from her. This one gets me real sad, even if his mom wasn't super present in the story it's still heartbreaking.

And yeah, basically every song will remind me of the series ATM bc it's literally all that's on my mind but these 4 especially did and made me want to edit videos but I don't have that kinda time or energy or talent lmao. But the series is just.... Ughhhh it's such a beautiful story, even with any questionable moments/details, it's genuinely such a fantastically written series and GOD the love between Xie Lian and Hua Cheng is painfully beautiful. I don't love codependency but idec with these two they're both so supportive of each other and both fully want to be together at all times and you know what I also want them to be together at all times, they deserve it. I knew there was a lot of trauma since I first watched the show in 2021 and have been a fan, but actually reading all the books and learning everything is gut wrenching and heartbreaking and yet so beautiful and satisfying.

gonna answer the two asks as one and break it down point by point. forgive me if my wording is a little off, i am schizoaffective and have been having a hard time with word/brain salad and I have to type a lot with a s2t bc my tremors are. Not Great. today. still, i will try my best! this is super, super, suuuuuuper long, so feel free to take your time to read and digest it

I'm gonna start with the biggest, most misplaced point first: Anyways, being trans doesn't mean you are suddenly immune to terf propaganda.

im assuming, in this context and the context of your next ask, you are calling trans women terfs for having problems with misogynistic trans men or making 'all men suck' jokes and trans men terfs for being transmisogynistic.

do you know what a terf is? one of the core tenets of radical feminism is the concept of sex essentialism and sociological gender theory. i say sex and not gender essentialism as i feel it better describes their 'bio sex first' dichotomy. the idea, in gross terms, is that there is a natural, innate difference between the sexes that is rigid and immovable, creating gender roles. men = innately masculine, aggressive, etc, women = innately small, weak, feminine, etc. it is noticeable in its extremeness when used by radfems, and when used by terfs, that binary essentialism is applied to our sex to misgender us. sociological gender theory is a complex theory, but in part it can be described as the idea that gender is 100% socially constructed, and must be abolished, making trans people the actual essentalists as we are using gender stereotypes to pass. that's obv not true, but when have radfems ever cared abt that lmao.

how, with this knowledge of some of the base beliefs of terfs, does that match either party of trans men or women in this situation? it doesn't. women calling out men for misogyny =/= terfs. men being misogynistic to trans women is horrible but =/= terfs. terfs are not boogiemen at night. they are a group with a belief system that is upheld by lots of horrible, but in depth, theory. i actually recommend looking into some of it, if you can stomach it, just to see where they come from. know your enemy, you know? bc the more you understand terfs, the less the word is applied to people that do not fit the def of a 'trans exclusionary radical feminist'. this 'problem' (quotations bc it is a gross simplification) of trans men being dicks and trans women understandably removing themselves from the community to find community with each other? not terfy in the slightest.

okay, im gonna be frank-- in my 2 years out as nonbinary, 7 years living out as a man in one form or another, 5 on t, and 3 with top surgery, having had my tubes tied, name changed, and in the process of getting phallo, i have very, very rarely seen that ideology outside of terfs. i have mostly seen the 'tricked girl' ideology, like that in 'Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters', written by Abigail Shrier in 2020, and the concept of rapid onset dysphoria in girls, which suggests disorders like bipolar, bpd, and childhood sexual trauma combined with trans influences 'trick' little girls into thinking they are dysphoric.

I have seen the 'men are evil and you are Becoming Evil' by terfs, but i think that comes down to sex essentalism and sociological gender theory more than misandery/transmisandery. i'm gonna post a post i made about there right here:

i don't believe the reason trans men are punished for 'becoming' men is because of hate for the masculinity they are becoming [but instead a form of misogyny and sex essentalism]. a trans woman is punished for leaving behind manhood and treated with disgust for adopting femalehood because purposefully abandoning the ideal and powerful in society (men) to become the despised and weak in society (women) is 'unbelievably unnatural' and dangerous to the structure of society. the lamb eating the lion, the child killing the parent. This isn't anti transmasculine in that.... almost every trans person experiences this. being fetishized and told they can stay their bio gender and gnc at the same time (so long as they stay thin and conventionally attractive) is something sooo many trans people, especially trans women face. look at sissy porn. look at traps. look at femboys. look at fucking f1nnster! all used as excuses to try and convince trans women they can just be gnc men. as a gnc man myself, i have been told this constantly, all the time, even after growing fucking facial hair on t and chopping the titties off.

'but emil' you say 'if all trans people experience it, then it's transmisandery too!' ill put it this way, using my mental health as an example. im schizoaffective, and as such, i experience mania, similar to many mood disorders, especially bipolar. if someone says something shitty about mania, me and a bipolar person are effected. would i claim that this is specifically anti-schizo discrimination? no, because it isn't unique to me. it's just ableism. these comments aren't unique to trans men. it's just plain transphobia.

in the most respectful way possible, yeah im calling bullshit. i have never, ever heard of a trans woman being encouraged by someone, cis or trans, to transition because they resemble the oppressor. in fact, i have heard 'trans women are transitioning to become oppressors in women's spaces' and 'trans women are male crossdressers', stressing their maleness not as something to be left behind but instead inherit to them and unremovable, or, god forbid 'they are male autogynephilics', once again demonizing them for 'daring' to be women. In Julia Serano's 'Whipping Girl: Transsexual Woman on Sexism and the Scapegoating of Femininity', written in 2007 which actually coined the term 'transmisogyny' (that i highly recommend) Serano discusses how radfems would actually argue they stay men because, even while gnc, trans women threatened the sex essentialist binary less than if they transitioned. This also lines up with the Serano's idea of cissexism, or the belief or assumption that cis people’s gender identities, expressions, and embodiments are more natural and legitimate than those of trans people. By keeping trans women from transitioning and keeping them as 'weird men', the binary is enforced and men and women stay separate, and cis people's naturalness stays secured.

Nope, not antitransmasculinism. That's textbook misogny, and even more so transmisogyny. Any woman, especially fat, Black, and lesbian women, will tell you about how they have to overperform femininity to avoid being seen as threatening and 'gross'-- hell, there are literally thousands of books written on it. For trans women, the stress and pressure is even greater, not because people hate men, but because they don't see them as women and are looking for an excuse to have proof for their biases. Trans women are seen as predatory autogynophiliacs in dresses trying to indoctrinate little girls and rape our children, not because they're seen as men, but because they are trans women. Let's not take trans women's discrimination and specific oppression and make it about us, okay?

Won't speak too much on this, being white, but are trans women of color not speaking on how we're being transmisogynistic, and often participating in transmisogynoir? I'm gonna agree to disagree on this one and hold my tongue or we could be here forever. I think we face discrimination that includes forced misogyny and systemic transphobia and have unique experiences, as all trans people do, but not enough for it to be some entirely new form of systemic oppression, let alone enough systemic oppression for a group of minority women to 'oppress' in any way that maters. words have meaning. oppression is systemic. and notice how the only women being attacked are the ones vocal about transmisogyny and feminism in the first place? are you gonna tell me feminists are oppressing you next?

then, frankly, put your money where your mouth is. set a good example, call out trans men in our community and hold them accountable for transmisoginy. learn. grow. read transfeminist theory. (i really recommend Whipping Girl as a starting place) read transfeminist memoirs. befriend trans women and make sure they feel safe in your spaces. include them in your feed. make them feel safe. defend them. protect them. we may not have much in the way of male privilege, but we can absolutely hold each other accountable. And don't minimize them to 'history'. Many of those women are still alive, and there are plenty of women making a difference now. Heaven knows im not perfect and I've held my tongue for too long, but if i can do it, you can!

As to 'why aren't we lifting each other up' ask yourself-- why are you more concerned with being lifted up than you are lifting others? why are you more worried about people being nice than you are transmisogyny, misogyny, misogynoir, etc? Feminism is a modern issue.

We can't stand together because of these trans men. They are actively holding us back. And that is our responsibility to end. Full stop. If a disabled person is being sanist to me, and i call them out, and then they talk abt ableist bills and how we're in this together, id be pretty pissed. if i was a trans woman and a trans man was transmisogynistic to me, and i call them out, and then they talk about bathroom bills and how we're all in this together, i'd be pretty pissed.

Also, another argument for another day, but look up concepts like effemimania. A lot of these bills target those girls more than they do us.
