megan thee stallion is the perfect example of unbothered energy. nicki has repeatedly vagueposted about her, gone on unhinged rants about her, gone so far as to mention her dead mother (such a classless low blow), threatened her on live, and has now released the tackiest diss track in history. and what has megan done? literally nothing. she straight up ignored her, aside from that one ig story where she posted herself laughing (which was perfect btw). she is the epitome of “i will not dignify that w a response.” i love it.

you know sometimes I wake up in a cold sweat remembering the phrase ‘more than just romantic’ and feeling like I’ve been knocked down a hill by the reminder that Dan and Phil are like ,, actually together. it’s not just a weird online shipping two twinks thing they’re actual soulmates, companions through life, 4000 year old tortoises, RANCH, like a piece of furniture, like a normal gay couple ,,, what the fuck

snl wishes they could be this funny prepared, let alone off the cuff. nobody has perfected the art of comedic timing like zac oyama has but also, nobody could work with other comedians well as these guys do.

The Ryoko Kui interview's reception is such a disaster over a pretty normal (yet still flawed) interview between a non-Japanese fan and Japanese artistic. This is discourse for discourse's sake, and it's no surprise that almost every Twitter user I've looked at who's using this interview to parade Kui around as a goated mangaka standing strong against Western ideology is anti-trans.
Like, I do think the interview was kinda wonky with its focus on fandom culture, which Kui clearly didn't have much interest in. But sometimes that happens. Sometimes interactions between two people, especially a fan and a creator, two people who view and interact with a piece of media in completely opposite perspectives, don't click. Does this really need to get blown up into a "West vs. East culture war" issue.
Anyways, Kui saying "I don't consider my audience's interpretations when writing. I leave it to their imaginations, but I have my own read on things too" is the healthiest, most normal thing an artist/writer who wants a non-parasocial audience could say. Artists and writers use this line all the time. If Kui didn't enjoy autistic Laius or Farcille headcanons, she would have probably voiced/signalled her discomfort, like she did on the topic of Senshi fanservice. Overall, Kui handled the interview really well. Props to her to sticking to her guns and keeping a healthy disconnect from the fandom. While I think the interviewer could've/should've been more tactful and restrained, the flaws in their questions is not a symptom of the woke mind virus trying to wriggle its way into the pure Japanese psyche. It's the sign of an over-eager fan who sees a piece of fiction differently than its creator.

Have been seeing some.. questionable interactions with the BG3 cast on social media and feel like this needs to be said.
Actors (VAs) are not their characters. That line seems to become blurred especially with such an open cast that is actively sharing and commenting with fans and on fan content. These are people who have partners and children at the end of the day. We have to be respectful of that if we want to make the space comfortable for THEM to exist in and want to interact.

Not to be parasocial but I am glad that the watcher boys seem to be handling everything well. Obviously with their response and listening to the fans, but I'm also glad that the severity of the backlash hasn't completely killed their excitement for their projects and the future of watcher.
This whole situation was a lot for everyone, and I know it's left a bad taste in some people's mouths, but I'm happy that Shane, Ryan and Steven have had level-headed responses to it (at least, public responses)

i'll confess that I adore when Phil is playing minecraft off stream and on another friend's stream. especially when he kind of enters "mentor" mode or whatever you wanna call it, cause he'll be helping and guiding others in the game, and since he's not streaming, he's also usually, like, 80% chiller than when he is streaming and is being an utter troll of a man. and idk it's just very relaxing to listen to lol

just had a bizarre dipnpip dream where dan uploaded a video of him proposing to phil but dan filmed the entire thing himself (like, holding the camera) so the video was from his perspective and the camera was WAY too close to phil’s face the entire time?? the video was called “how to impress people with only 3 coins” and for some reason his big proposal speech involved him throwing 3 different american pennies off a dock? then the next day phil uploaded a scripted funny skit video where their characters were husbands so the phandom was having Major Discourse over if dans video was a skit too because it was Such A Bad Proposal and dipnpip had to be like “yall plz we were serious”

Today I’m thinking of…
How Joe’s relationship with fame (or lack of thereof) influenced his relationship with Taylor (in a negative way.)
It feels very much like a “the fox and the grapes” situation, where the fox tried to get to the grapes, couldn’t, and judged it “too sour”.
In the same way, Joe tried to reach that status/success/level of fame, and for a minute it did seem that that’s where he was headed, and at the time he seemed to be cool with Taylor’s own fame (and reputation and so on). Then, when the pandemic changed the trajectory of his career, whilst the opposite had happened to Taylor’s who was soaring after the success of folklore, his attitude towards it (and towards her) allegedly changed, too.
All of a sudden, fame and celebrity were something to deride and avoid, and it seems like he extended this approach to his relationship with Taylor, so then she became “too big to hang out”. From what we know so far, it seems like he started looking down on her somehow, tolerating her instead of celebrating her, not realising she was indeed the best thing at the party.
So basically he became disparaging of fame (and of her) because he couldn’t get to her level 🤷🏼‍♀️
