Thinking about how in the myth, Narcissus was the cause of Echo's strife and inevitable death. Thinking about how Ringmaster is absolutely 100% a narcissist with a cult-like belief in his own superiority and genius.

Thinking about how, given her actions, we can reasonably assume that Ringmaster is the one who sewed Echo's mouth shut. Thinking about how Echo was damned by the gods to only ever repeat the last thing anyone said due to her devotion to Narcissus. Thinking about how Echo was damned by Ringmaster to never speak, only copy the actions and routines of those around her--thinking Echo might have let the Ringmaster mutilate her, in her devotion to him.

Thinking about how Echo had a natural talent that was honed into a skill that was used by a man who never loved her and would never love anyone but himself.

Thinking about how Echo wasted away next to the lake and died from her starvation. Thinking about how Echo's first words were asking for something to eat that wasn't liquid.

Thinking about how all the clowns have bright, shapey, distinctive makeup. Thinking about how Echo is a blank mask onto which the Ringmaster can (and does) project any emotion or thought that suits his own desires, carelessly and callously ignoring anything that might be Echo's actual wants.

Thinking about how Narcissus died due to his own egoism and pride. Thinking about how Ringmaster got his jaw ripped off due to his own egoism and pride. I will be honest, it's difficult for me to get that excited for any Pokémon game announcements nowadays. They last main line game I enjoyed (to an extent) was Pokémon X&Y. So if course I'm happy that this gen is continuing with ZA.

But given Game Freak's track record with rushed games and empty promises, I can't get invested unless they truly deliver.

“Tommy will understand. Tommy will understand- I- I know- he’s going to take a bit of time to understand. You know what- we’ve had our differences recently, but I know- I KNOW he will be a good helper for this, he will really. I’ve seen, I’ve seen how he acts . He’ll come around, He’ll come around”  --Wilbur Soot

So I found this quote while I was trying to fact check something during the Pogtopia era, and in case anyone is wondering, he says this at the end of cc!Wilbur’s video Am I the Bad Guy? For further context, c!Wilbur says this right after he makes the deal with Dream to rig up Manberg with TNT and blow it up during the Red Festival.

Now what I found so interesting about this quote is how well I think it could fit into Wilbur’s recent lore Inconsolable Differences. I could see Wilbur thinking this as he takes Tommy to the prison, as Wilbur knowingly traps Tommy with him and Dream, as he threatens to kill himself, as he gives Dream the discs and tells him to burn them in lava. I can see Wilbur thinking this as they head to the community house while Tommy is crying how Wilbur betrayed him again, while Wilbur reveals he didn’t actually burn the discs, while Wilbur calmly and patiently tells Tommy that he did it so Tommy could be free from Dream. This quote alone, and how well it can still fit within recent lore, goes to show how Wilbur’s perception of Tommy hasn’t changed one bit. While I 100 percent believe Wilbur would do anything, would give anything, to make sure Tommy is safe and sound, he fails to think about how his actions can negatively affect Tommy.

Wilbur thinks he understands Tommy, because he knows him, he knows that Tommy will understand him. Yet, even as Wilbur tries to calmly tell Tommy that he did this for him, that now Tommy is free from Dream and he can do whatever he wants, Tommy is quiet. Tommy is quiet as he holds his discs, looking away from Wilbur, and when Wilbur asks Tommy if he understands him, Tommy only nods quietly. As he turns towards Wilbur, Tommy can only glance at him briefly before turning his gaze back towards the floor. Through his body language, Tommy is clearly showing how much these events have upset him- he can’t even maintain eye contact with Wilbur for longer than a split second. So even as the conversation ends with Tommy thanking him, I doubt Tommy truly forgives him.

Tommy thanking Wilbur doesn’t stop the hurt Tommy felt during the events of the prison, and when Tommy voices his frustrations by saying “every time you make whats mine about you. You make whats completely mine and you take it away from me and you strip it and make it about you” , though said in upset anger, I do believe he means it. Just because Tommy can technically understand Wilbur in this situation, because he most defiantly doesn’t always understand Wilbur’s reasoning for everything, doesn’t make what Wilbur did okay. You can argue that Wilbur was right that if Tommy didn’t fully believe they were his discs, that his plan wouldn’t have worked, but the means don’t always justify the end. Wilbur relies heavily on believing Tommy will always come around as long as Tommy can understand him and his logic. However, Tommy is a character that is completely driven by feelings and emotions. The only reason as to why Tommy always comes around is because of his love for Wilbur, his brother, and Tommy knows this, he knows he always ends up siding with Wilbur regardless of his better judgement.

Tommy has disagreed with Wilbur many times, but continues to follow him because he feels like Wilbur needs him, and he needs Wilbur, and in a sense, they do need each other. They both want the best for each other and will do anything to get that for one another. However, this leads to a continuous cycle. Wilbur will continue to make decisions without thinking about how it can emotionally hurt Tommy, while Tommy will continue to support Wilbur even to the determent of himself. Cause even though Tommy loves and cares about Wilbur, he doesn’t trust him, or as he says, “Wilbur makes me feel safe in the same way two guns pointing at each other feels safe.”

On some level, I believe Wilbur is aware of this based on how he keeps thanking Tommy for trusting him as they make their way through the nether towards the community house. This could also be one of the reasons as to why Wilbur hasn’t apologized to Tommy yet, because he subconsciously knows all of this. He knows he has hurt Tommy, even as he tries to justify it, he understands that Tommy will keep coming around and continuing to follow him. Maybe Wilbur doesn’t want to admit that Tommy is one of the people most deserving of his apology, because if he does, he also has to admit how much pain he has caused him, even if that wasn’t at all his intentions. Maybe Wilbur is scared that if he asks Tommy for forgiveness, Tommy won’t give him the forgiveness he desperately wants. Maybe yet, what Wilbur is truly scared of most, is that Tommy will forgive him.

I get the feeling the Creme Brulee Cookie we’ll be getting next update is gonna be different from the one we saw in the concept art

Like sure, maybe some things will be the same like the hair, dough and eyes, but I imagine the theming and outfit is going to be entirely different. Since this Creme Brulee was made for the Golden Cheese Kingdom and was made to be an archaeologist, and I mean, we already have that in Olive, she’s the final character that was the archaeologist. Also while we don’t exactly know the theme of this update, I think snow is involved

And also randomly apparently creme brulee is meant to be eaten cold, or at least chilled, so there’s that potentially helping the cold aesthetic. Also linzer cookies seem to also be holiday cookies? Or at least they can be eaten around the holiday season

I think the Van Scene was also important for some of the audience for WillEl. To just emphasize once and for all that while he may have been a bit petty towards her at the roller rink, when it really comes down to it over Mike, he doesn’t let them be “pitted against each other” and sacrifices himself for her happiness as well.

It’s so sad because he shouldn’t feel like he has to sacrifice his happiness and there was absolutely a way for him to share his love as his own without it being a competition or even romantic but it is also important to have that emphasis that he is prioritizing what he thinks Mike wants, yes, but he is also prioritizing his sister. Nobody talks about that. 

It’s for both of them. To him it’s not just deprioritizing himself, it’s that the happiness is two against one anyways. Either they’re happy and he’s not and they don’t have to know he’s not or he’s happy and they’re not but he’ll know they’re not so he won’t be either, in his mind as the options. So he hears that Mike is struggling in his relationship because he’s insecure and he validates him by saying what he believes El feels and has just also not expressed in so many words. But because Will spoke for them, we don’t actually know what they’re thinking in relation to each other because even with the speech, El and Mike still have not had a conversation about it. But Will still basically pushed them back together. Both of them. For both of them.

Idk, people just forget that he’s also sacrificing his happiness for El’s.

AU where Ganon surprise adopts toon Link the first time they face each other.

1- Link tells Tetra to free the girls while he focuses on Ganon and the Helmaroc King to keep them from being seen. But as he's fighting, the bird isn't really trying to hurt him- just grab him, which is admittedly difficult with the kid swinging the Master Sword at it, but eventually it manages and takes Link up.

2- Upon being deposited in the broken ship atop the fortress, Link quickly learns that the Master Sword will not bring down Ganondorf- who corrects him on the name- and doesn't even seem to touch him. Instead of explaining why, Ganondorf sits down and pats the floor, and begins using one of his secret skills: lying. Ganondorf is like "look, boy, I don't know who told you that old sword would kill me, or how you even found it, but they were using you. Was it those pirates? You should stop trusting people who shoot you out of cannons." Link is offended on the King of Red Lions and Tetra's behalfs, and his reaction tells Ganondorf enough.

3- "Ah, well, I suppose I can respect that. You know, long ago my people kept a fortress not in a sea, but a desert. Some hylians, fleeing the civil war or their kings' cruelty, would make it though the desert. Those who could survive that were granted protection, and those who could break into our fort were welcomed as warriors into our tribe. Not the first time they did, but if they continued trying after that first failure." Link is like "uh huh" and only half paying attention because he's trying to figure out if Tetra got all the girls out before he books it himself.

4- he does start paying attention when Ganondorf then says, "Welcome to the Gerudo tribe, vevko." At Link's confusion, Ganondorf just asks "Well, as the newest son of the Gerudo, who else could be your parent but me?" Link then has many protests, some about his grandmother but most about his sister, and Ganondorf nods. "I will let you decide then, if you agree to stay. Will your sister stay here with us, or would you send her away?" Link just wants Aryll safe at home, so Ganondorf nods and the Helmaroc King goes to frighten Tetra and Aryll to the ship, as the younger girl was trying to run to her brother instead of following the pirate. Ganondorf says it's very wise of Link, sending Aryll away means she can return to be welcomed into the tribe as well, as a warrior sister. Link does not want his little sister in danger or fighting at all, and Ganondorf recommends he get over that, because as much as he once felt the same about his kinswomen, reality demands more. The Ganondorf claps him on the shoulder and orders a few monsters to start helping prepare a proper child's room, discussing how they're going to get to get Link into some proper clothes, and eat some real food, because he can't imagine a child ate all that well on his own. Link protests that he's of age, and wears the hero clothes as custom. Ganondorf is like "hmm yeah no twelve is not adulthood, let's go vevko." and ignores Link's five attempts to attack him as he figures out a room situation for the kid.

5- Ganondorf's motivations are not as pure as he claims, as always. He does feel some gratitude for Link drawing the Master Sword and unsealing his full power, while also being sure the boy himself isn't a threat as the Sword didn't have the power it did in the hands of a true hero. Keeping the boy and the sword here might draw the Princess and the Real hero out, however, allowing him to collect the Triforce. Especially since the "collect children" plan didn't work, so the current daughter of the royal family might be an adult and harder to narrow down. Also, the kid genuinely impressed him with his breaking and entering skills and doing all of that for his little sister, so it's not like it's babysitting some crying brat all day. The Ritos', Valoo's, and pirates' attempts to get him away or hurt so they can grab Link also make Ganondorf dig his stubborn heels in: this crazy kid is his vevko now, if they wanted him they should have done better with the sword situation.
