why are people complaining that english doesn't have a word for 'the day before yesterday' when 'ereyesterday' is literally? right there? use it! if enough people just say it every once in a while to popularise it, it's status as 'obsolete' will be revoked, so what's keeping you from it? same goes for 'overmorrow'. they're perfectly fine words, just use them and they'll become publically recognised, that's how language works. just. say it.

I love words like yesternight and overmorrow. They have a fairly obvious meaning if you think about them, and they're so rarely used.

Releasing Today, Feb 16, 2024!
Overmorrow looks neat. It's an exploration game with a Majora's Mask reset mechanic. Every 30 in game days, the game resets and you need to find new things to progress. I really like the art style that's made exclusively of triangles. The music is by Jim Guthrie (for me that's a throwback because one of the first games I tried to lets play was Superbrothers: Sword and Sorcery EP) Guthrie's also know for the Indie Games: The Movie soundtrack.
I imagine there's a lot of puzzles and deep thoughts in this one.

When it comes to words, obsolete really just means underappreciated.
Last week's #wordwednesday words should have been overmorrow and ereyesterday. While both of these words have fallen out of use in English, they have cousin words with similar meanings German and Dutch, respectively. I honestly see no reason not to start using them again.
You may have a very reasonable objection not to use these words. After all, most people are probably not going to understand these words without a definition provided. Don't let that stop you. Language change can, and does, happen.
In sociolinguistics, we talk about two major forces that shape language use. On the one hand, every language has set grammar and pronunciation rules. Any speaker who wants to be well understood must follow these rules. This is called structure. On the other hand, every speaker is an individual. Every utterance (or text) is a reflection of the speaker's unique identity, and speakers choose the Language they use to communicate. This is called agency.
While I have set up structure and agency to be opposing forces, the reality is that they influence each other, too. Every speaker agent has to navigate social and linguistic structure. For instance, social structures determine if a speaker should use formal or informal language, and linguistic structures determine how noun-verb agreement manifests itself. Importantly, speakers can choose to either adhere to or oppose existing social and linguistic structures. When enough speakers choose to oppose the existing structure in the same way, they CHANGE that structure - social or linguistic.
Be agents of positive change.

daybreak town kids having weird biology is a very important headcanon to me. like in my mind i think all keyblade wielders are sort of like human but slightly to the left tbh. but i firmly believe that there was something in the water in daybreak town. like they can eat things that are now/elsewhere considered poisonous. those wings on that kid’s back are non-functional but absolutely real. yeah that guy lost a leg but a new one grew back don’t worry about it. yeah that girl has a dexterous tail. there was increased human biodiversity back in the age of fairy tales before the world fell apart do you get what i’m saying
