I've been coping with this mob AU made by @/clownsuu a while now jajdhjd

She never lets anybody else touch her hair ever again lol (this isn't a Wally x oc moment btw--bc their relationship will get pretty bad pretty soon--)

Okok so I wanted to talk a bit about how Dolly works in this AU

So, in exchange for saving her life, she joins Wally's "family" and becomes a shadowmam, in a sense. Her main missions revolve around sabotage and stealth-based assassinations.

How she manages to fight is basically through taking advantage of her good hearing and agility. She's a melee type fighter so she's a lot more advantageous in close range battles. Her main weapon is the sword concealed in her cane (a gift from Wally), but she can utilize whatever blade or blunt object she has on hand too.

Babe is literally the definition of "brings a knife to a gun fight." On rare occasions, she'll use a gun as a last resort because it gets pretty destructive, which is the opposite of discrete.

I might actually draw it when I have some time BC fighting strategies Dolly uses is pretty fun to think about lol

headcanon: Stratos isn't stationary, it can float from one place to another as one big group of flying islands, and sometimes can be seen above other empires. joel just keeps it parked in the valley atm because of the village

yearly SaKe re-read post

because I've finally been working on chapter 21's outline again, and my last full read through was over a year ago and didn't include 19 & 20. If I'm going to attempt to start 21's document, I'm gonna need to get everything really fresh again first. Which also means: I dissect shit again, and blog about it. (I swear it helps with the process) (but it also just scratches my brain really nice) Also to note, I'm gonna be editing again. Maybe even tackling some of the bigger issues with the story that have bugged me but would be a project in itself. We'll see.

feeling pretty low in general so i decided to write a little drabble of jack reassuring me that i'm not a burden ^^;

“you would have been happier with lacie,” fae’s words were not a confrontation. there was no heat or malice behind their tone, only cold resignation of their fate: to be second best. “she would not have burdened you like i do.” their blue eyes sparkle with unshed tears.

jack is silent. his mouth is slightly agape with surprise and confusion. he watches as his love wilts, inching in on themself, and instinctively reaches out to soothe them. the way they flinch back makes him freeze, expression shifting from worry to grief.

“i love you.” his words feel insufficient even on his own tongue, but he feels cotton-mouthed at the mere thought of what they are saying. let me love you.

a suppressed little sob escapes as their internal dam breaks. “you loved her.” they choke out, nearly hunched over in a mixture of pain and sorrow. “you would destroy the world for her!”

he closes the gap between them, cupping their cheeks in gentle hands. his thumbs tenderly brush the dampness of their face. even through the blurriness of their vision, there is nothing but love and adoration in his eyes as they look up at him.

“and i would rebuild it for you.” 

lips softly brush against their brow, then their nose, and finally their lips before pulling back. “you are my burden, my sweet. one that i carry willingly, lovingly, with every fiber of my being. i will never set you down.” his forehead rests against their own. “i am not afraid of your imperfections, of your aches and your pains. i love you.”

they take a deep, shaky breath as their tears slow to trickle and press their face into his shoulder. his vaguely sweet, familiar scent soothing and grounding their calming mind. “i love you too.” was their mumbled reply as they melted into his arms. “i love you too.”
