You know a lot of these I feel capture of the essence of my features, in the nose, eyebrow shape, head, sometimes mouth. They feel like they could be my children or other relations. Curiously the AI kept styling my baby photo as a girl, from the dress, to hair length. It's funny to me, its like the program is seeing something different or something I can't see readily or easily.

One thing I am not crazy about, is how its clearly gendered. The clothes are always one end of the binary or the other, no equivocating on how you present, you're either this or that. I can't be too hard on this algorithm because this is the first wide release. I am happy that its handling not only my dark complexion but my clearly African features. It hasn't tried to Europeanize me or bleach out my skin.

It's a bit sketch on how it handles facial hair. Some of those shots where I am older and have facial hair I totally ended up being a different person all together. When I noticed this I attempted to give the program clean shaven images where my face is well-lit and I am looking square into the camera. My eyes have a tendency to look less wanky when I provide a good starting photo.

I was never really into Apple's Memoji, I really prefer that I am represented by something that actually looks like me. I think this is why I leaned more towards the illustration option than the animation one, I find I was more realistically captured in illustration than animation. As I have posted in this digital obituary I am not a novice at having my image captured by an artist. It was an interesting exercise to let the computers do the steering this time, I wasn't mad at the outcomes.

There Party Cola was, with xir 'Abba'. They were walking out of some...club? A bar? Both maybe.

Xir 'Abba', Apple Bloxx, was a very well dressed individual. They were dressed scene, & rather formally. Green striped hair extensions & belts & kandi & boots, they were stylish. Party Cola was stylish too but Apple Bloxx was definitely more stylish.

Playground was very colorful, full of sounds & lights, a bustling & busy city- but a well built one. Metro systems could be seen up in the air, vending machines & benches, bridges & staircases that seemed to lead to a second layer of the city. It was incredible.

Ugh, apparently Apple force downloaded an AI image app to my phone with the last OS update. I’m also forced to have an “AI” Siri voice, now. They all sound pretty bad, but there’s no opt out that I can see. At least I was able to delete the app.

Chris Andrews SONG OF THE WEEK “At The Zoo” by The Playground featuring Chris Andrews. Not much is known about The Playground, a short-lived British psychedelic pop band that issued one single on MGM in 1967. It was issued to a positive reception in the UK and Germany. Then, just as fast, the band suddenly broke up despite all the hoopla and investment placed by MGM (the single is now highly collectible). It was produced by Kenny Rowe (Capability Brown, Tony Rivers & The Castaways). The A-side is a jangly cover of Simon & Garfunkel's “At the Zoo” (a song Paul Simon intended for THE GRADUATE film). Chris Andrews was transitioning out of the freakbeat band Fleur de Lys and was hired to play guitar and harmony vocals for The Playground but, according to his notes, “God knows what happened to Playground. There were all sorts of drama within that band that was way above me.” Chris soon met manager Tony Hall, switched his name from Chris Andrews to “Tim Andrews,” and got to work on a series of singles for Parlophone Records that included working with Paul Korda, recording at Abbey Road, and hanging out with the Apple Records stable of artists. Chris went on to a long career and still releases new music.
