Copycat Applebee’s Wonton Chicken Tacos

🌮🍗 Applebee's Chicken Wonton Tacos 🍗🌮

📋 Ingredients:

🐔 Chicken:

2 chicken breasts, finely diced

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp minced fresh ginger

🥗 Asian-inspired slaw:

1 bag coleslaw

4 green onions, thinly sliced

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp honey

🌮 For tacos + toppings:

16 Wonton wrappers

Sweet chili sauce, to serve

Chopped cilantro, to serve

Sesame seeds, to serve

📝 Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 375 F. Spray wonton wrappers with cooking spray or brush with a bit of olive/canola oil, then drape over the side of a 9×13 baking dish. Bake for 7-8 minutes, watching closely so they don't burn. Take wonton shells out of the oven, then gently pull them apart while they are still pliable so that they are more easily filled with toppings. Bake another 7-8 minutes until crispy.

2️⃣ Mix diced raw chicken in a large bowl with hoisin sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Heat a large skillet over high heat and sauté chicken for 7-8 minutes, tossing frequently until cooked through.

3️⃣ Meanwhile, mix ingredients for coleslaw together in a large bowl.

4️⃣ Add chicken mixture to wonton shells, then top with coleslaw, drizzle with sweet chili sauce, and sprinkle with cilantro and sesame seeds. Serve and enjoy!

💡 Notes:

◻️ Substitute the chicken breasts for boneless skinless chicken thighs if preferred.

◻️ Make your own sweet chili sauce using a combination of hot sauce and honey for a personalized touch.

◻️ Add in extra toppings like grated carrot or minced mushrooms for more variety.

Applebee's Chicken Wonton Tacos

Today is May 7th 2022.

One day until Mother’s Day.

One day until Cam’s 15th birthday. unbelievable

Two days after graduating undergrad.

I woke up around 14:00

because I went to sleep around 06:30.

We got back in the house around 04:00.

We left the no air bnb around 11:00.

Left U-haul around 13:30.

Ate at applebees around 18:00.

There was a tornado warning and direct TV went out as it does.

Nana and Daddy came just as it started raining.

I had the bourbon chicken and shrimp.

Mommy had a southwest bowl that I wish I got.

Cameron got beef nachos and a quesadilla burger.

Uncle Allen got wonton tacos and a quesadilla burger. no tomatoes

Nana got the fish and chips.

and Daddy got the chicken breast.

Our waitresses name was Destini and she had a bumblebee tattoo on her hand.

We got back in the road around 19:15.

I drove.

There was traffic and we had to get all the way over to an exit in .5 miles.

I would get over then let daddy over.

This one pickup truck wouldnt let me over but my attempt allowed daddy to get over and you could see the frustration of the pickup driver. If was pretty satisfying.

We stopped at a Loves.

I got a magnet and two lighters.

Cameron got a bullet knife and a key chain.

When we left daddy went over the median

which he denied and finally called a speed bump.

30 minutes later they called because they thought a transport tire was smoking.

False alarm.

We stopped at Loves again and I think the first time we got gas and the median thing happened and this time we went in and got stuff.

I moved to the backs seat and mommy drove the rest of the way.

Somewhere between 01:00 and 02:00 we saw a black truck swerve

and go off the side of 295.

They landed in the grass right side up.

Mommy had to turn the music back on and i touched her shoulders.

Driving nerves are different.

You still have to operate this ton of metal while internally shaking and your mind is going as slow and as fast as possible.

Gas in woodlawn was over $4.

The air was cold.

Uncle Allens place looks so cool with everything on the wall.

Daddy and Nana were lost looking for a gas station so we went home and put the food up.

There was a fake gun.

A real gun.

Mountain peaks of clothes (one of them being just jean)

Cameron found his retainer he thought he left in a GA parking lot.

Charli got put in the family room window.

I brushed my teeth and wiped off my face.

I went to bed on top of a comforter and under one.

I texted my gf at 05:34 that i just made it in bed and she called me awake.

We talked for an hour.

Overall, yesterday/today was great.

I feel full of love and support.

And feel free in a way I haven’t felt in… idk if I’ve ever felt this way.

I feel in control and content.

Today I plan to start reading Divergent just to prove to myself I can do it. Showering. Eating. Getting stuff out the car. Checking my grades. Checking my graduation pics. Buying Cameron and Mommy’s gifts. Taking my hair down and moisturizing and oiling it. Length Check. Stretching. And touching Charted.

TIL: Dew point temperature will never be greater than the actual temperature.

Birthday Dragons!  

By that I mean they’re a gift sent by my folks for my birthday.  I’ve been collecting a few dragon figurines, but they’re all at home right now because I was afraid of breaking them during travel.  These guys are just plastic, so I can take them anywhere <3  They still look awesome!

The first is a Hydra, and the second was labeled a Midnight Moon Dragon.  I absolutely love the Hydra the most, and both are in my favorite color.
