here's to all the little sacrifices we have to make as disabled people.
here's to skipping a friend's party because you were in too much pain, or because you had no energy.
here's to dropping out of clubs because they became too much for you.
here's to all the times we've said "no it's okay, you guys go ahead, i'll hang back here."
here's to all the things we've held ourselves back from just in case they hurt us.
here's to moving seats in class away from your friends because your back was getting a draft and the cold hurts you.
here's to us. here's to letting ourselves heal. here's to being cautious, being safe.
here's to the things we can do. the things we're allowed to do. here's to enjoying those things, enjoying our lives.
here's to making the most of being us.

sometimes I see one of those harem animes where a bunch of girls whose personalities and bodily proportions are wildly exaggerated fall in love with a bland cardboard-cutout of an mc floating past the periphery of my semi-curated internet feed, and I'm like 'ugh, I don't know how people sit through these'. then I remember my all-consuming need to imagine an animeified version of Fyodor Dostoevsky having unabashedly toxic homosexual relationships with every man that crosses his field of vision, and I remember to get off my high horse before it bucks me off and I break a few bones on the way down

My spiderverse post for the day but I don’t see the point - in fact I think it’s counterintuitive to what the story is driving at - in twisting ourselves in knots arguing whether Miles is a definitive spiderman of his universe because he actually hits the canon checkboxes like his uncle dying etc and his universe hasn’t collapsed like. That’s still a validation operating by the parameters Miguel outlined, when the entire point is that those factors are meaningless to the identity of “spiderman” in isolation. What makes their hero mantle one of worth is the choice to always try save the little people, even when they don’t succeed, and becoming fixated on the loss and it’s supposed inevitability has put them all in a place of stagnation.
Even if Miles hadn’t had a single person die in his journey thus far he’d still be a worthy spiderman. <- a point literally crystallised in Pavitr.

not a long while ago, i posted about wanting to explore dynamics more and build more long-lasting connections between the muses, but as of late there’s also been another related thing circulating inside my head, which is the topic of romantic shipping. i always say i’m open to considering those and people should always feel free to approach me about it and then we can discuss whether it makes sense or not, though something i’m not particularly a fan of is devoiding a dynamic between characters for the sake of shipping. romance is not my priority and even when it happens, most of the time those relationships still will be difficult because this is how i write and interpret leon and his approach towards it. all i’m asking for is some more depth. otherwise, simply speaking, it’s hard for me to stay excited or interested.

i don't have strong headcanons about the turtles sexuality or gender identity (I have some but they're very flexible), however the other day I imagined Leo coming out as a girl and Donnie getting absolute happy hands about having a sister. I didn't have specific turtles in mind when the thought came but I think it fits for 2012
