Happy birthday, Lenore! October 13th is my OC Lenore's birthday! Here I made a CG POV swap because somehow the chaotic, undead ex-mercenary was the best thing to ever happen to her.

it will never not be funny to me how delighted gale is at the prospect of breaking into another wizard's tower and snooping around.
although i do also wish there'd been more to this than the small window into gale's past the protag gets when gale recounts a story from his first year as a blackstaff apprentice.
there should be so many things that hit too close to home for gale. not just the outward, with lenore's love for literature and poetry, the magic still scattered around, but also the vast sadness and loneliness clinging to this place. the loneliness that made lenore give bernard the ability to hug. all those things that he himself faced and speaks of briefly during the tiefling party, as well as the boat scene in act 3.
Tumblr media
i'm happy we got at least something - and that it was a memory that made gale laugh - but there was potential here too, to speak of loss and grief and isolation.
i think the loss scene that was sadly cut in the full release version of the game - either as it is or slightly edited - could have worked very well here.

So an idea for a nevermore au literally came to me in a dream
I had this weird dream where Lenore was the apprentice to a death god, but like it was angsty cause like she didn't really want to be. Look it was a dream and that's all I remember.
So here are nearly all the thoughts that came from that.
Warning: This gets heavy. Death is talked about extensively and suicide is mentioned. If you are not in a headspace to read about that, please come back another time.
Then I woke up and realized there was something to that idea. So in this au Death would sometimes yoink humans who they think would be good for the job, the reason being that it can be easier for dying and dead humans to interact with an entity that was once human. Death typically appears during mass casualty events, or when a human would need their presence, or when they want to make a human psychopomp. As for the humans Death makes psychopomps, they are typically people who delt with death regularly, and/or people that have the right personality. Lenore is the latter.
Now typically dead people get to choose weather they stay as a ghost, reincarnate immediately, or be a ghost for a little while and reincarnate a bit later. If Death wants you to be a psychopomp, there is no getting out of it.
So, basically the whole dying on their wedding day happens to Lenore and Annabel. Lenore becomes a psychopomp, and Annabel reincarnates. The au would be set in the modern day and psychopomp!Lenore and Annabel would meet. Now I think psychopomps can have a corporeal form, and while people can of course see them, not many people can register them. And if they do get noticed, they are quickly forgotten about. Now some people can notice them more easily, these tend to be old and/or terminally ill people, those who are close to death. So imagen Lenore's surprise when Annabel, some one who is young, not only notices, but starts talking to Lenore. Now normally, for a young person who doesn't give of terminally ill vibes, them talking to a psychopomp is a really bad sign. The reason Annabel actually registers Lenore's existence is because of soulmate shenanigans, and because Lenore deals with souls on a daily basis, she quickly figures this out.
I'm thinking Prospero and Eulalie could also be psychopomps. Prospero cause he was a doctor and saw a lot of death, he knows how to deal with it. And Eulalie because Eulalie.
Now the thing is, psychopomps aren't quite human any more. On top of being immortal, what happens when a human soul becomes a psychopomp is that death gives this person a portion of their power. Now, psychopomps don't govern death, they just guide people through it, but with the line of work (and a portion of deaths power) their view on life and death shifts. Death is the great equalizer, and as Death's guides, they have to be impartial, it doesn't matter where the person came from or what they did, they are dead now and have to be treated with compassion. So all psychopomps end up being very compassionate towards all humans.
They don't need to breath, drink, eat, or sleep either. In fact most of those are uncomfortable, or just inconvenient for them. With food and drink, they can chew and swallow, but nothing else will happen, and if they teleport, or go incorporeal, everything will just fall to the ground; it's gross. As for sleeping, well basically what happens when some one dies and a psychopomp is needed, they get this feeling that they need to be some where. If they take to long doing whatever, they teleport automatically, cause like trying to resist the call is so spiritually uncomfortable for them. So like imagen your taking a nice nap, then you get woken up cause you have to go to work, but you feel like you're dying backwards cause the nap was really good, but now you have to provide a dead person therapy while really groggy.
Also, the not knowing when and where you have to be until you're needed is the reason they don't often have sex with mortals. Like ghosts understand the job of the psychopomp, and don't take them having to leave personally. But like with mortals, a psychopomp can't explane to them why they need to leave, and said mortal would absolutely take it personally. Typically this isn't a problem, as psychopomps don't have much of sex drive to begin with (that comes with the whole being dead thing, also they can still be attracted to people, this isn't vtm), and if they did want to, it would just be with a ghost for the reason above. Occasionally though, soulmate shenanigans will happen, and the psychopomp's soulmate will be alive. The sexual tension between them will be palpable.
Now on to why there are multiple psychopomps. Well first of all, unlike death, psychopomps aren't omnipresent. And while death cares deeply for humans, they are also acutely aware that their presence isn't the beast for recently dead humans, due how fundamentally inhuman death is. So, death created psychopomps, entities that where once human that could more effectively guide people through death. Yeah, psychopomps are basically glorified therapists for dead people. Another reason is that certain psychopomps are better for dealing with certain dead people than others would be. For instance, Prospero tends to deal with people who were terminally ill, people who die in hospitals, and people who died because of medical malpractice. Eulalie tends to deal with dead kids, and people who burned to death. Lenore tends to deal with people who died in accidents, people who were murdered, and people who lost the battle with their mental health. Essentially, psychopomps help those who they would be good at dealing with based on the events of their life and how they died. Also language barriers still exist for dead people, psychopomps just cant magically communicate with everyone. World building notes:
A psychopomp's corporeal form only creates the illusion of life, and it's not quite exact, as something with a portion of death's power can never perfectly mimic life. Their body temperature is a bit colder than normal, though, buy itself, not low enough to raise any alarm bells. It tends to hover around 95.1-96.9° F (35-36° C). Their heart beat is also slower than average, not enough to be life threatening though. Their heart rate can speed up, to make the illusion more convincing, but it never gets above 100bpm . Also because they don't need to breath, they don't get winded. They just breath to keep up appearances.
Important to note that electronics can pick up psychopomps in their corporeal form, though the mimetic effect they have on humans does extend through the video. Though still they have to be wary of cameras.
When incorporeal, they can float around and faze through walls like ghosts can. They can also teleport in this form.
They also have the power to manifest peoples memories. It's mostly used as a way to give comfort people who have just died. So like for a smoker they could manifest cigarettes. For a kid, a security blanket. For an autistic person, a favorite sensory toy, or maybe a weighted blanket. Basically, they can manifest anything that could comfort a dead person as long as that person has a memory of it. (for Annabel it would be tea) Now, psychopomps don't really use this any thing other than comforting the dead, however when Annabel starts interacting with Lenore, she starts getting memories of her past life.
Psychopomps have sort of a 6th sense when it comes to death. Like they can sense how close some one is to dying. The older they get the more exact this becomes. Also they can just generally feel when things die.
Because of this the typical psychopomp things aren't all they do. Like if they see some one who they feel is close to death, they will try to help, in any way that they are aloud to, such as calling 911, or talking some on down, and if they can't do any thing, they'll just sit with that person so they don't have to die alone. The reason being, everyone will die eventually, why not give them a little extra time. This is why they have corporeal forms, to comfort the dying.
Also almost no psychopomp has a phone, car, house, money, or really anything you need to live as a human, but like its not like they need it. Plus they can't get a job because they don't legally exist. Usually, the most they'll have is an email.
psychopomps can hop in and out of the afterlife at will, they can also teach ghosts how to.
oh yeah, the afterlife is really just a place for ghosts to hang out and vibe when they are not doing ghost shit, and it's also like a "break" room for psychopomps. A break from having to deal mortals, not a break from their job. They are on call 24/7/365. Death doesn't sleep and neither do they.
The afterlife is a combination of human memories of the living world and humanities collective unconsciousness of what the afterlife is like.
Ghost's can't take a corporeal form.
Also, since both Theo and Lenore are dead in this au they can interact with each other. So, like Theo (and Lenore's ghost friends) will sometimes fallow her around while she's in her corporeal form and do silly ghost shit that only she (and other psychopomps) can see. Though some times Lenore will want to join in on the conversation, so she has to find a privet place to go incorporeal. Yes, the memetic effect psychopomps have on humans helps them not get noticed, if something happens, or they do something that would draw attention to them, like Lenore talking to talking to people that "aren't there," or straight up disappearing, humans will notice.
I'm calling this my psychopomp!Lenore au.

SwynTask: How I Met Your [Parent]
Tumblr media
Title: From the Memories of Lenore de Spell. Summary: What the title suggests. But specifically, Lenore and her relationship to marriage, love, and her kids. Content Warnings: None, really? (Majke has a brief discussion about sexuality, if you could even call it that?) Word Count: 2,139 Read: Doc. Or read below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ONE.
You’re going to go cross eyed, he says, catching her attention. His stray dark hair is falling in his eyes, and it’s clear to her that he’s tired, too.
Lenore Ancel takes her glasses off to look at him. She’s far sighted. Medium-sighted, she supposes, considering she can’t see too close or too far away. But him – Edgar de Spell, with all strong lines and stronger ambitions – she can see just fine.
In any light, she can see the shape of him and know it’s him. Like a calling. Like drawing her in.
That ambition might get you in trouble some day, she once told him.
He responded by using his magic to put on a grand display of power, then proposing to her before graduation.
TWO.
“I can’t believe he’s gotten married,” Majke complains over the phone. Physically, she’s in Ireland. Spiritually, Lenore figures she’s cursing her brother over and over again.
“Yes, to a charming young lady named Minerva,” Lenore relays, pleasantly.
“Minerva?”
The reaction is understandable, Lenore supposes. Poe probably could have given the entire family more of a heads up, but… to say so would be hypocritical of her.
“That’s entirely too close to Aunt Athena,” Majke says, a distaste in her voice.
Lenore laughs. “Yes, well, I thought the same thing, I assure you. Are you coming home for Pesach?”
There’s quiet over the phone, then. Lenore holds her breath, her smile, her composure.
“You don’t have to, Majk–”
“No, I will. I’ll book a ticket tonight. I’ll see you then, Mama. And Minerva, I guess?”
“What about your brother?”
“Oh, yea. Him, too, I guess.”
THREE.
Edgar and Lenore marry when they’re twenty-three, having eloped against nearly all parents’ wishes.
Lenore’s certain that Edgar’s parents wanted him to marry someone more… upper class. Someone wealthier and prettier. With a tip-tilted nose and soft hair and a magic that was blinding and brilliant. Someone who could get along with his sister, Chiara. Someone who could bake classic Italian pastries with his mother.
Meanwhile, Lenore knows her parents wanted her to marry someone a little more…. Jewish? Though, in fairness, probably someone with better grades, too. All the wealth in the world wouldn’t have mattered to Margalit (Margaret, according to legal documents) Ancel if Edgar couldn’t prove he would be a good husband.
They returned from Paris, rings on display, so happy that no one, not even Edgar’s step-mother Moira, could fight them.
FOUR.
How did you even meet this boy? Lenore’s younger sister asks, irritated by one thing or another.
Lenore knew her mother was probably grating on Athena, but there was no need to take it out on her. Lenore was only visiting the summer after her and Edgar’s wedding, which was, admittedly, a chaotic time to be a guest.
While her younger sister was flirting with her childhood friend instead of studying for her final term and her just eighteen brother was gallivanting in Spain looking for rare spells and someone to take him on as a sorcerer apprentice, Lenore had settled in a small Italian cottage with Edgar, making a steady go of it.
She almost felt like the sane one of her siblings.
Does it matter? Lenore had replied.
It was a snappy retort, unkind and unwise. But, as well, Lenore had smiled at herself – not for having said what she said – but for the memory of their meeting.
FIVE.
“It’s romantic!” Poe had insisted, twelve-years-old and thinking he knew best. “Mama knew he was a good guy!”
“Sounds like dad was showing off,” Majke says, off-handedly, already preparing for war. “I wouldn’t have fallen for it.”
The problem with having Magickal kids, Lenore thought, was that your house can become a battleground. And, in a way, both children were right. Should Lenore have fallen for Edgar? Did it matter the what if of the matter? She did and it was done with. They were happy.
SIX.
You’re going to go cross eyed, he says, catching her attention. Lenore looks up through thick framed glasses to see a boy – one in her year? – standing on the library steps, arms crossed.
She hadn’t realized classes were changing and she was right in the way.
Sorry! She’d said hurriedly, getting up hastily, spilling her books and papers in the process. The wind began to pick up, taking them skyward, and Lenore thought for sure that this was how she’d die. Of pure embarrassment in front of a handsome boy who would mock her for the rest of her time at university.
Instead, he jumped, propelled by wind, and caught her stray notes and papers, descending again and handing them to her in a neat stack.
He’d captured her heart that day.
And then again when they met on the second floor of the library the next day. And the next. And the next week, when they’d moved to the third.
SEVEN.
“You can love whoever you want to love,” Lenore says, cradling her fourteen-year-old daughter. “Don’t let Poe tell you otherwise.”
Majke had stopped crying by this point, her hair frizzy from all the brushing her mother had done to it. It was soothing, in a way. Lenore knew this about Majke. While she pretended to have a tough exterior, she really could be quite delicate.
There’s a deep inhale, and Lenore isn’t ready for what Majke asks next.
“Even if it’s a girl, mama?”
Majke’s tone is so soft it would be inaudible if not for Lenore’s awareness.
Lenore pauses. That’s new. Had she known Majke liked girls? Was it because of her Aunt Chiara?
Was that why Majke was crying? When Poe, eighteen now, had gone and told her and Edgar  that Majke had skipped classes for a “date” (as he called it), no details were given about the who. In earnest, Lenore wondered if it was that boy that her grandmother had tried to set her up with. Rosolio? Lenore takes a mental note to tell Caraldina to mind her own business.
The pause had apparently  weighed on Majke and she began to turn away. Began to. Because Lenore had quickly wrapped her arms around her daughter again and kissed her temple lovingly.
“Yes, even if it’s a girl. I want you to pursue whoever makes you happy, my Majke,” Lenore says, grinning. “It doesn’t matter to me as long as they make you happy.”
EIGHT.
Chiara would love to meet you, he says, casually, walking alongside her.
They’re surveying the ground for reagents, looking for fresh dew and birdsong.
Not your parents? Lenore replies, using her wand to collect a dash of sunlight flashing between the trees.
His silence, though, tells her everything, and for once in their two year relationship, she has her doubts.
It’s not like they’d ever gone home together for holiday, both of them cited that their family gatherings were much too big. Edgar had his two older sisters, on top of step family to consider. Lenore had her younger sister and brother, both actively working to drive their mother up the wall.
She’ll like you just fine, Edgar had assured her. She’s just a very stressed person who needs her time. Chiara’s got a new girlfriend, and I don’t think it’s working out. My mother can only handle one significant other at a time.
Which was fair, Lenore supposed. And Lenore was decently shy, besides. She wasn’t going to push the issue.
NINE.
“Where you get your damnable stubbornness is beyond me, Majke,” Poe says, angrily over the phone. “Just come home and visit, it’s not like America is working out that well for you.”
“Poe,” Lenore says, trying to calm her son.
Her children fight, it’s what they do. But, in a way, Lenore has to wonder where it was that Majke got her temper. Maybe from her own mother, but it wasn’t like Majke had much time with Lenore’s side of the family.
“No, I’m sick of this!” Poe shoots back, and Lenore is unsure if it’s to her or Majke on the other end of the line.
Some mumbles from the rotary phone, some yelling.
Ah, it was to sweet Majke.
“You should give your sister a break,” Lenore says, calmly, reaching for the phone. When she looks at Poe’s eyes, he looks almost betrayed. And for what reason? All he and Majke did was fight.
“And why should I!?” Poe fires back, aggrieved.
The look on Lenore’s face, though, sets him right. And he hands the phone back to her.
Ever since Majke graduated university, she’d been traveling. Edgar didn’t mind, he thought it was good for her. Spell collecting is how she put it. Studying for the sake of it.
Edgar’s family were spell collectors. They could be agnostic about Sorcery Specialties, simply opting to learn everything and not fully committing to one specialty or another. Sure, it used a lot of reagents, but knowledge was knowledge.
Majke framed her travels as learning more, but Lenore was always doubtful. To some degree, she wondered if her daughter was even happy at home. While Poe raced back every chance he got, Majke was different. Her polite disdain was more and more evident by the time she even went to university.
“Darling? I’m sorry for what Poe said, you know how he gets,” Lenore says, softly. But even when she picked up the phone, she knew the line was practically dead.
Majke didn’t slam phones down, she politely set the phone next to the cradle and waited. If she slammed down the phone, Edgar would yell and yell. It was one of the few things that could set him off. For the most part, he was just about as calm as Lenore was about nearly everything… though perhaps he was a bit more enthusiastic about showing off new magic.
He’d mellowed over the years.
“Darling, we love you, alright,” Lenore says, trying her best to engage with the ghost on the other end of the line. “Your father and I hope you’re doing alright in America, okay? I hope you do come home, though. For your brother’s baby?”
She pauses. Perhaps it was hopeless.
Poe hadn’t even told Majke when he found out. He waited a full four months to drop it on her while she was at a train station in Germany. Maybe France? Majke had been irritated and immediately called for their dad to rat him out. Nothing of the sort, he got mad at her for being ungrateful for the news.
Lenore didn’t know how she felt about that.
He’d apologized the next day, of course. Heartfelt, actually. And then again, with a gift that arrived at her inn the next week. Pens and paper for the journaling she’d given up.
They’d had their rough spots, but Lenore knew they loved each other deeply.
Anger, though, had found a home in this house.
It’s quiet on the line for a bit longer, and Lenore shakes her head, not sure what to say.
“Well, I’ll say goodnight then, Majke. I hope you’ll —– ”
“What did Poe decide to name him?”
The static that comes through brings a smile to Lenore’s face and she clutches the phone tighter. “They decided to name her Lena,” Lenore says, and Poe gives a grunt of irritation from the other side of the room. Lenore silences him with a look.
There’s more quiet, and for a moment, Lenore thinks the line may have even been cut. But it hasn’t been. There’s a light laugh, almost a scoff on the other end of the line. Like a familiar annoyance.
“I can’t believe this. And how did Poe even meet this girl?”
TEN.
Lenore smiles brightly as Edgar presents her with his mother’s diamond ring. While some may say it would be bad luck to accept the ring – Edgar’s parents having separated by this point – Lenore thinks of it as a small kind of blessing.
Of all of his parents – he had three, his mother, father, and stepmother – Caraldina really was the one pulling for them.
Lenore supposes that she and Edgar really hadn’t blindsided all of them with the news. Arriving back from Paris with their smiles and laughter, Caraldina really was the one to put talks of their impulsiveness to rest. Her genuine joy for them was masked beneath an imposing smile.
When asked how they met and, further, how could she let this happen, Lenore had only looked at them all cheerfully.
She could tell them that he was a powerful sorcerer, or that he was wealthy, or that he sacrificed his grades in protest of the institution. All of these things were true about Edgar, but none of them mattered.
Lenore had shrugged, shook her head, and smiled.
“He makes me happy,” is all she would say. And, in the end, that was enough.

Episode III Revenge of the Sith - S tier
Ok I might know the entire dialogue between Anakin and Obi-Wan at the end of this movie, but I am not biased...am I? This is genuinely my favorite Star Wars movie and will argue that this is indeed objectively S tier material! From the battles, to the anguish, to the plot and the characters and of course the memes.
It is not lie, some might say there are plot holes, but not really. Once again, (I know I say it again but bear with me please) watching the clone wars, which mostly goes on between the second and third episodes makes the progression of the darkside on Anakin much more realistic! With the senator in his ear, his padawan leaving, people dying, a conflict that seems endless and the influence of the Son, the literal embodiment of the dark side, and the death of the Daughter, the embodiment of light side.
Tumblr media
Child murder, yes it is bad, but if you look at the one that talked in particular, he looks like Jake Lloyd, the young version of Anakin. Darth Vader had to kill the child version of himself that wad happy and he saw as weak. It feels like a necessary part of his path to the dark side and a recall of his previous massacre of the sand people. Yet another show of how the Jedis never really helped him or the others that struggled with their identities.
Tumblr media
Another massacre was order 66, this is the first time we see Palpatine's evil plan truly unfold. Although we will see this scene again and again from many different angles it still hurts every single time. It resonates with the hunt of the templar knights in the time of the Crusades. A deep betrayal similar to the one Anakin feel towards Obi-Wan in the last scenes of the movie.
Tumblr media
An aspect I disliked was Padmé's death being explained as dying of sadness which I feel is a very low blow. Padmé is an absolutely amazing character that deserves a better explanation. She was a Queen as a child, she had threats on her life forever, she became a very implicated senator that actually made an effort to bring positive change to her universe around her to stop things like slavery, and the trade federation's loan shark attitude, starvation from war and much more. Women only have 17% of screen time in that movie, and although she has a great legacy with Leia, Padmé was too great to die of "big sads"! Some alternative explanations is that Palpatine used her life force to control Anakin or that he drained her to scar her husband. But either way it is a "disposable woman" trope kind of situation or even the "Lost Lenore" of the dead significant other to push they main characters reaction. It is highly disappointing.
Tumblr media
On a more joyfull note. This next GIF is my favorite scene. Fun fact, at least for me, is that the animal Obi-Wan is riding, is a Varactyls called Boga, is native to the planet Utapau. The planet is shared by two species, the Utai and the Pau'ans, one lives on top and the other underground which makes a fun ecosystem to co-habit. These ones had the decency to share in the naming of the planet, unlike the Mon Calamari, who called the planet they share with the Quarren...Mon Cala. But back to the Varactyls, they have subspecies on the planet of Pijal and they are red and play sports with the royal family.
Tumblr media
Obi-Wan is skilled because he robe one before with the Queen of Pijal as he saved her life from assassins in the book Master and Apprentice by Claudia Gray.
Overall, I think this movie was an S tier, there is not much more to say!

I saw @chibi_don_dc wanted vampire ocs, so I turned Lenore into a vampire! Since The Arcana is basically over, I needed something to do with her. She really would make a great vampire.

Dearest Avedon,How I long to be near you once again! Our brief encounter last week in the herb cellar was not enough to sate my desire to be close to you. There is so much I feel that could be gained from time well spent with you, please say you will find yourself in need of more newt eyes soon.
With all my devotion,
Lenore of Loch Lochy
He was staring at the letter in his hand with disgust. “Can you believe this tripe?!”, he asked his apprentice. His mute apprentice took the letter from him and scanned it for a moment, and turned the letter over, scribbling quickly on the back. He handed it back to Avedon.
Maybe she’s into you?
Avedon scoffed. “Only you would think such a brazen attempt to use me would be a true flirtation! Thank the gods you don’t have a voice, Merlin, otherwise there would be no saving you from showing what a fool you are!” He sighed and plopped his last eye of a newt into the the bubbling cauldron over the fire. “This is clearly a ploy to learn my powers!”
Merlin rolled his eyes and took the paper back. You’re right. You’re not that charming anyway.
The wizard read the response and could only grunt sourly. He tossed the letter into the fire and settled back into his chair.
“Anyway, I don’t intend to go back to the cellar for my supplies anymore. You will go for me.” Merlin looked at him, all exasperation. “Don’t look at me like that, boy! You know that cellars are far too undignified for distinguished wizards like me to be going to regardless!” He grabbed another sheet of parchment. “And I need you to go right away”. With the penmanship of a chicken he scratched out his shopping list and pushed it towards his apprentice.
“Eye of newt. Filet of Fenny snake, Wool of bat, Witches mummy. Honeycomb. 2 kegs of wine.” Merlin’s eyes flickered over the list at raised an eyebrow at the last item. “What! It’s vital to my work!” Again with the eyeroll. “Just get the damn wine, and stop complaining!” Avedon fished around in his robes for a moment and found a jingling coinpurse to throw at his assistant.
Merlin let out a sigh and got up, starting for the door.
“Oh!” His master cut him off quickly. “And deliver this to that vixen!” Once again he was scratching onto a piece of parchment.
Lenore,
It is true that my skills and potions brings many far and wide to the courtyards of this great kingdom.
Indeed, inferior artisans declare to me, “Your potions are better than ours!”
Verily, I could teach one and all, but I would have to excise a steep reimbursement for that none can afford.
In Superiority,
Avedon of Great Glen.
Merlin snorted as he read over the wizard’s shoulder and Avedon sealed the letter with wax. “Deliver this to her if you see her. If you don’t see it, leave it with Barney at the cellar.” The mute nodded, still seeming to mock his mentor with his eyes, and tucked the letter into his smock.
___
Lenore of Loch Lochy was not a busy woman. In fact, Lenore of Loch Lochy spent most of her days at the cellar like it was tavern, drinking wine and schmoozing the patrons for whisperings of new potion recipes and transmutation spells. In exchange, she was sure to share her own three day old rumors and maybe a good eyeful of her best assets. It was not a bad trade, to be sure, for Lenore had some very enviable treasures aboard her person. The regular of the cellar was more of a socialite than a lush however, for many wizards had tried and failed to get past the smallclothes of the endowed lady, and many had decided that she wasn’t promiscuous, she was just… friendly.
The friendly lady of the loch was slouched in a great armchair in the cellar when Merlin ducked his head into the entrance. She was a sight for sore eyes, truly, and Merlin was happier to look upon such a lovely, friendly soul rather than his own sour master.
Lenore recognized Merlin immediately. “Merlin, what a surprise!” Her gaze darted behind him in hopes that perhaps Avedon accompanied him. “Running errands for the great wizard!” Her voice betrayed her disappointment when he was not shortly followed by the object of her affections. The assistant approached Lenore and slid the letter onto the table next to her. She grabbed it before his fingers had even left the parchment, and eagerly ripped off the seal to read it.
Merlin expected at any moment to hear the moanings of a scorned woman, but instead soon little giggles filled the cellar. “Oh, my dear Avedon!” She covered her mouth, bursting into hearty, heaving laughter. “What a treasure this man is!” Merlin ceased his appreciation of bosoms momentarily and raised his eyebrow at Lenore. “Truly a man of great mind and wit!” She exclaimed.
“Merlin, you brought me such great news today, do be a darling and deliver this back to the Wizard!” She winked at him and reached into a satchel to give him some silver pieces and a piece of parchment for herself. With a great flourish, a quill appeared and wrote in a delicate script.
Sweet Avedon,
Your special talents are worth all the gold in the kingdom and not a farthing less. Please accept this gift delivered to you by your faithful lackey. Though I would have preferred to see you today, I understand that a man’s time is not his own for a busy and learned man such as yourself.
Devotedly yours,
Lenore of Loch Lochy.
She fanned the letter to dry and once again reached into her satchel to produce a packet the size of her palm, tied with an ivy vine. She pressed it into Merlin’s hands with a coquettish grin. “I trust these will end up in the right hands,” her voice was a low murmur, leaned towards him.
Merlin took the package with a slight nod and backed away with a final stolen glance to Lenore’s barely contained bosoms. With a sigh, he retreated to the cellar counter to complete the business his master had sent him to do.
___
Avedon pursed his lips as he read over the last word of Lenore’s message. He toyed with the still wrapped package in his hand. It was soft, and didn’t seem to hold anything of great weight or shape. Maybe it was yet another sycophantic letter? An embroidered hankie? Not that he was interested at all. Clearly it wasn’t anything of value. The wizard tossed it to his assistant and turned away.
“More from the flatterer. Take this. I’m sure whatever it is, it’s of no use to me.” Merlin caught it midair and tugged at the vines. The packet opened almost of its own accord, probably enchanted anyways. What sat in the middle of the fawn skin bundle was a neatly folded corner of red silk. The assistant put the skin down and held up the silk to the light to inspect it further.
Merlin choked. His coughing and sputtering filled the chamber, and Avedon whirled to him to see the boy bright red, consumed in soundless laughter, still holding up the silk.
It was the wizard’s turn to sputter. “The gall of that woman!” He yanked the dangling panties out of the air.
His assistant took the letter from the table and wrote, Yes, these definitely won’t be of use to you. Avedon tried to snatch the letter from him, his face flushing scarlet, but Merlin was too quick and all too happy to tease him again. Such a learned man. So busy. Much too busy for these. I’ll just take them off your hands.
“You will do no such thing!”, the wizard roared. “In fact, I think you should leave. Such insolence will not be tolerated in my presence!” Merlin raised an eyebrow at him. “Immediately!” The boy narrowly missed being by projectile candlesticks and ducked out of the chamber quickly.
The wizard considered the silk panties alone in his chamber. It had been decades since he’d seen such an article, let alone be gifted any willingly. These were extraordinary. There were roses embroidered down the edges, and little petals forming a V down the front in an elaborate flourish. These had certainly taken some time to perfect. As suspicious as Avedon was to the comings-on of ambitious enchantresses and young warlocks alike, receiving the smallclothes of devoted would-be students was a new development. Bold, but he would rebuff her all the same. He didn’t become Avedon the Great by sharing his bed and greatness with others… far too easily to be duped into sharing his best secrets. He had to send a message back… But not the panties. He was keeping those. They smelled vaguely of pork and roses.
Crumpling the silk in his hands, he stuffed it into his robes and began his response.
Lenore of Loch Lochy,
Please do not bother my lackey with items of frivolity while he runs errands of utmost importance for me.
Avedon the Great
___
Determined women are resourceful women. That is why Lenore had piles of embroidered silk underthings, all awaiting a sprinkling of potion and bacon fat to be sent off in little fawnskin packets. That is why when she was interrupted at her chamber doors with loud knocking, she quickly threw a cloak over the pile on her bed before answering the door.
A servant she didn’t recognize stood in her doorway with a letter. It was Avedon’s pecked to death penmanship on the front. Her eyes lit up and she snatched it out of the messenger boy’s hand, tearing it open.
After a moment, she thanked the messenger and shut her door again with a heavy sigh. She just didn’t get it… she’d sent her favorite panties to him! Why were his letters always so curt? Never mind that, she thought, he just wants to keep my packages discreet and private. What a gentleman!
Perhaps a different approach. What do wizards love more than spells, potions, and ridiculous costumes? Dinner. And their mothers.
Lenore sat down to another piece of parchment and started an entirely different letter.
Dear Lady Moraine,
I am so pleased to invite you to The Singing Trout for a small dinner with myself and your wondrous son, the great Avedon. He has told me so much about you and I really must insist on having the pleasure of meeting you myself. After all, I hope to be much more acquainted with you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Lenore of Loch Lochy.

KH OC WEEK | DAY 5 - NOBODY @khoc-week
day one | day two | day three | day four | day five | day six | day seven holly’s relationship chart | tiny’s relationship chart
Tumblr media
i was originally going to do the actual prompt for today but i...well i didnt finish writing what i wanted to in time. i didn’t like it that much anyway so its not a total loss. so instead, today i’m going to be talking about my nobody!holly au!
in this au, instead of escaping radiant garden during its fall to darkness, apprentice xehanort kills her just like the rest of the apprentices. he also ends up blinding her in the process.
since her plant-manipulation comes from her being a nymph, becoming a nobody just kind of. gave her a massive healing boost. because of this she’s basically treated like org xii’s glorified doctor. she rarely leaves the castle unless she’s accompanying someone, because even though shes still a powerful fighter shes…a bit of a glass cannon and xemnas isn’t willing to risk losing their only good healer.
shes a lot more . subdued as a nobody. not only bc nobody = no emotion but being in the organization and forced to work for xemnas makes her incredible drained. but its not all bad! xemnas lets them keep a bunch of plants in their room and axel brings them back trinkets n treats from his missions.
everyone has a deep respect for them as well. partially bc of their healing prowess and also bc some of them (read: demyx) feel like if they DONT respect hyxoll theyll refuse to heal them. which they would never do. theyre not THAT cruel
and hyxoll makes sure that respect is returned in full. she has a pretty decent relationship with almost everyone in the organization and establishes a mutual sense of trust. that trust sometimes leads to secrets being spilled while shes healing them. and those secrets SOMEHOW find their way back to saix…
she does not go on missions, ever, but she does go on occasional supply runs. meaning she needs more plants in her personal garden and she convinces saix to let her take one or two members to help her gather more. it's the highlight of her day.
i know what ur wondering. “where’s tiny in this au if holly isnt in traverse town to help him?” simple! since holly straight up dies in this au, that means her aunt lenore is alive and well! lenore essentially takes holly’s original role in the story but she’s a lot more uh. mature i suppose. lenore is the one who takes tiny in and she’s also kind of a pseudo-mentor to leon. i like her a lot.
more hyxoll hcs under the cut just bc i think they’re neat
during the very early days of the organization, vexen had to constantly tend to hyxoll's face wounds as she was in constantly agony. unfortunately he wasn't able to save any of her eyesight but it did prepare him later on for when saix got his face scar
hyxoll was also attached to axel and saix by the hip during the early days, mostly bc of her blindness but also bc she was scared that if she wasn't near them she would lose them forever and wouldnt be able to find them again
speaking of vexen, after hyxoll discovered her advanced healing powers, he helped her hone them and taught her more advanced medicine and first aid. the two of them ended up bonding bc of all this and hyxoll was really upset after learning of his death at castle oblivion
back to hyxoll's face scars. even though they're healed sometimes she gets bad phantom pains and needs someone to apply cooling salve to her scars. most of the time she gets axel to do it or saix if axel's out on a mission, but sometimes she has to rope the other members into doing. she likes it when marluxia does it bc he smells nice n he's quiet, which is more than she can say for the others (read: demyx)
xigbar and hyxoll are actually decent friends and have very normal conversations together and it freaks everyone out sosososo much.

A List of SK/TCB/Shipwrecked Characters I Think Would Be Friends
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Hidgens and Lucius would be besties. Lucius will be cast as Leighton in Workin' Boys. I like to think they met during Lucius' audition and Hidgens was just brought to tears by his performance. Wait I just had a thought. Halpert also auditioned and they're all friends. Halpert is giving me Chad vibes
Princess Mouthface is amazing and @/musicalsandfluff is amazing for thinking of it
Emma and Lenore would be friends. I like to think they would have been college roomies. I think they would have a gelphie type dynamic except they are both tired of everyone
Fig would be friends with Artemis and Paul. I think she would have helped them investigate Connor Creek. I think the people of Connor Creek would like Fig way more than the twins. She's weird enough to fit in with them. Paul loves how weird she is. Artemis gets overwhelmed by her sometimes but thinks she's an amazing interviewer
Get ready for this one we're going fast I say like you can't read it slowly. Paul M. would be friends with Tarkin. Tarkin would be friends with Quirrel. Quirrel would be friends with HG. Paul is not friends with HG but is acquaintances with Quirrel. Tarkin is also acquaintances with HG but friends with Poe.
Paul and Tarkin introduced Ted and Ani to each other and they get along great. They have that dynamic where it's two idiots but one of them thinks they're the smart one (it's Ted)
Donny and Sally would be friends. They'd talk about their love struggles
Bug and JJ would be besties. JJ would definitely teach Bug Gungan and he picks it up pretty quickly since is close to English (trilingual Bug)
Paris and Hannah would be friends. They bond over the fact they can talk to dead people. Paris lost it when she found out Hannah knew eldritch beings.
Esther wouldn't be friends with them but they would show the Hatchetfield teens good places to stash drugs in school. OH WAIT Emma would show them her old escape. WAIT WAIT Emma could be Esther's weed dealer
Smellyballs would love the Dikrats. He'd be like the cool weird uncle. Only Jack Baurer and Craphole are into it though. Smellyballs taught Craphole how to find good nuts and berries so he didn't have to kill animals anymore
I know we haven't met Grace yet but she sounds like the type of person that would be friends with Cedric
Y'know that one tiktok where Alice is working as Hidgens' apprentice or something. I like to think that she eventually could not handle him and started working for Oscar. He's helping her with her vampire play. Hidgens is most certainly jealous and him and Oscar are kind of rivals
Krayonder would be friends with 2004 Ted
Chorn and Webby would get along. They'd talk about being gods and looking after humans and such. I feel like they would talk about all the weird stuff they see humans do
So many of the mamd and avpsy (avpsy specifically because the ages are closer) characters would be friends. Joey would get along great with Harry and Ron. Ginny and Sally would be besties. Cho would be friends with Tiffany and Vanessa
these are all I can think of right now but I would love to do more
