This is an updated Project Dream Ball post to reflect on some facts I didn't know about rare balls. Furthermore, I made some mistakes while copying and pasting, and forgot to consider some regional Pokemon don't have a regional pre-evolution. 10/17/2023
Project Dream Ball is a project that aims to make Pokemon in special balls such as Apricorn Balls, Sport Balls, Safari Balls, Dream Balls and Beast Balls more readily available to players.
On the side, Project Dream Ball also aims to help newer players obtain ribbons exclusive to previous gen Pokemon games, such as old contest ribbons, the Legend ribbon, etc. Pokemon that can be legitimately obtained in a Safari Ball:
*Any regional variant Pokemon whose original or other variant forms can be obtained in Safari Balls via breeding *Pokemon that are catchable in Pokemon Sword/Shield (you can create Safari Balls with the Cram-o-matic)
*Pokemon that are catchable in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet (you can create Safari Balls with the Item Printer)
Pokemon that can be legitimately obtained in Apricorn Balls:
*Pokemon that are catchable in HeartGold/Soulsilver, EXCEPT for Safari-exclusive Pokemon.
*Pokemon that are catchable in Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon
*Pokemon that are catchable in Sword/Shield
*Pokemon that are catchable in Scarlet/Violet
Pokemon that can/could have been legitimately obtained in a Dream Ball:
*Pokemon that were available through the Dream World in Pokemon Black/White
*Pokemon that are obtained from Pokemon Dream Radar
*Pokemon that are catchable in Pokemon Sword/Shield
*Pokemon that are catchable in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
*Regional Variants whose original or other forms can be obtained in a Dream Ball via breeding
Pokemon that can be obtained in a Sport Ball:
*Pokemon that are catchable in Pokemon Sword/Shield (you can create Sport Balls with the Cram-o-matic)
*Pokemon that are catchable in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet (you can create Sport Balls with the Item Printer) *Regional Variants whose original or other forms can be obtained in a Sport Ball via breeding
Pokemon that can be obtained in a Beast Ball:
*Pokemon that are catchable in Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon
*Pokemon that are catchable in Sword/Shield
*Pokemon that are catchable in Scarlet/Violet *Regional Variants whose original or other forms can be obtained in a Beast Ball via breeding
How Project Dream Ball operates:
While Pokemon Bank is no longer available for download anymore after March 27th, 2023, it is still usable, and it is also be free to use. This means that Project Dream Ball will still be able to bring forward Pokemon from previous generations into Pokemon Home until Nintendo shuts down online servers completely in April 2024. As such, if you have any requests for ribbons that can only be obtained in previous generations, please let me know before it's
Project Dream Ball wants to help trainers obtain Pokemon with ribbons available only through previous gens, and intends to do so via requests. Please understand that these kinds of requests may take time, and may not always be possible. For example, past contest ribbons from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum are fairly easy to get, but there is a limit to how many may be possible to obtain through gameplay. Meanwhile, ribbons that are obtained through battling may be more difficult to obtain. As far as ribbon requests go, it may be better in some cases to request a specific Pokemon and request a trade instead. Trading online is still possible in gens 4 and 5 using this method. A list of ribbons can be found here. Please keep in mind, not all of these ribbons can be obtained.
Project Dream Ball aims to provide trainers with better access to Pokemon in special Poke Balls, without the use of Action Replay, Powersaves, etc. However, Project Dream Ball will still use fan wifi servers in order to trade Pokemon to trainers who would like to use certain Pokemon in older gens.
While I am not against cheat devices such as Action Replay, Powersaves, etc, Project Dream Ball will not be using these means to generate or edit Pokemon to have any special balls, ribbons, etc. Yes, I do own some of these devices, but I have no intention of using these as I understand that some people find it to be a bit iffy. Furthermore, I do not want to mistakenly generate a Pokemon with a ball or ribbon that it normally would not be able to obtain. I hope that everybody reading this understands. No Pokemon obtained through Project Dream Ball will be generated or edited through any third-party devices.

Fairly easy raid I think. Beat it in one go in Scarlet and in two in Violet (mainly because Anger Point didnāt get the crit to activate after stats were reset so I couldnāt use Power Trip to the best of our ability). This is the first time Iāve caught a Tyranitar in Violet and judging by the PokĆ©dex update message after I left the raid den the first time the first time Iād even seen one in Violet. Lavender probably thinks thatās a weird looking Iron Thorns. Iāve decided most of my Pseudo Legendary raid bosses are going in Apriballs as I like doing for my raid bosses. No real plans yet but I think either Metagross or Kommo-o is gonna be in a Heavy Ball and unless something else claims the Water Tera type Goodra can get the only Lure Balls I own (I own one Lure Ball in each version. Also I donāt think Goodra the Unrivaled is gonna have a Water Tera type. I think itāll be either Steel to reference Hisuian Goodra or Dragon). Someone is probably gonna be in a Dream Ball and I donāt think Iāll put Baxcalibur in a rare ball at all (nothing against it, I just want to have it so the only Pseudo Legendary raid bosses they share their balls with are their opposite version counterparts)
The build if anyone is interested is Bulk Up, Power Trip, Breaking Swipe and Crunch (Game8 suggested Taunt instead of Crunch but I donāt like using Taunt in raids) with Anger Point and a shell bell. You probably donāt necessarily need Breaking Swipe or Crunch, I didnāt really use them much (I donāt think I used Breaking Swipe at all in Scarlet) but theyāre there if you want to lower Tyranitarās stats (Crunch is unreliable for that but at least you can build Tera Charge with it)

And I actually remembered to activate their marks this time! I didnāt remember to give them PokĆ© Dolls to hold oh well but I just wanted to show off their characteristics and my raid Dragoniteās characteristics and those characteristics are all looking quite familiar to me. Of course my two Pseudo Legendaries in Scarlet both share āit likes to thrash aboutā but they also share that with Blueberry meanwhile my Violet Dragonite shares āitās somewhat vainā with Char the Ceruledge while my Violet Tyranitar shares āitās mischievousā with Cherry. So not only do all four of them share their characteristics with one of my aces in their native versions but my Tyranitar both share their characteristics with their native versionās event-exclusive Paradox PokĆ©mon
#you know what? The Dream Ball is treated as an Apriball now#and the Apriballs were introduced in Gen 2 while the Dream Ball was introduced in Gen 5. Unova confirmed (joke)#^ I guess Iām still making the jokes that any time both Johto and Unova get something#even if itās something small and/or Johto is promoted considerably more than Unova it means a Unova remake is coming#Tyranitar#ā¦the Unrivaled!#krookodile#pokĆ©mon scarlet#pokĆ©mon violet#pokĆ©mon

How to farm special Pokeballs
The main focus of my collection lies within Event PokĆ©mon. But from time to time, Iām also collecting Aprimons. Aprimons are PokĆ©mon which are caught in special Pokeballs. You may came in contact with them already. Since all special Pokeballs are not easy buyable, they are valued relatively high in comparison to other items. Especially, if you are collection shiny trophies, youāll come to the point that you want your trophy in a matching Pokeball sooner or later. Letās see which ways we have to get multiple of those special Pokeballs.
First things first, letās declare what can be considered as a special Pokeball:
All Apriballs, which are Fast Ball, Friend Ball, Heavy Ball, Level Ball, Love Ball, Lure Ball and Moon Ball
Dream Ball
Beast Ball
Safari Ball
Sport Ball
Actually, there are more than one possibilities to get most of them in SV. Only Sport Ball is limited to one option. And obviously, weāre speaking about not-genned items by a random botā¦
1. At the marketplace of Porto Marinada youāll get: Fast, Friend, Heavy, Level, Love, Lure, Moon, Dream and Beast - BUT those auctions are pretty rare and expensive. Youāll need to farm money as wellā¦
2. With the help of the item printer, you have a chance to get all - BUT the Pokeball lottery is random and if youāre very unlucky youāll get nothing. Additionally, the item printer is DLC exclusive and you need to farm the new currency BP (blueberry points) which are way easier to farm if you do it with a group. However, the item printer is the only way to get Sport Balls in SV now.
3. PokeDex rewards include several of those special Pokeballs. If you own the DLC, youāll get each except Sport Ball. If you do not have the DLC, youāll get āonlyā Fast, Friendly, Heavy, Level, Lure, Moon, Dream and Beast - BUT you have to fill your Pokedex completely and once youāve collected the reward, you cannot get it a second time.
4. You can trade for them like I do it sometimes - BUT you do not know the origin of those items.
All those options have their own advantages and disadvantages. The most popular option by the player community might be the item printer. However, not everybody owns the DLC or a Nintendo Online Subscription and farming BPs on your own is very painful to get a useful amount of them in the end.
From my point of view, the PokeDex rewards are the most underrated possibility to get those items. Especially if you donāt want to depend on others. Let me explain you why you should consider to farm special Pokeballs with this option.
If you have not yet, you should really work on a Living Pokedex. You can use random traded Pokemon or your own, whatever you prefer. You will have several advantages if you do it - just to name a few: immediate access to Pokedex rewards, the shiny charm, spotting a specific Pokemon if you have not seen it yet, etc. I own a Living Pokedex since Generation 6 (XY) and it helped me in many cases - but tbf, Pokemon HOME access is not always available with the release of a new game, however, it is available for SV
If you are preparing your Living Pokedex in HOME, you can easily swap the needed Pokemon from one save to another. Btw., it is not necessary to leave HOME and open your SV save so that the Pokedex entries are registered. Just save the changes in HOME and open HOME again to place the next batch into your boxes.
Except for a very small group of Pokemon, youāll get all with Letās GO Pikachu/Eevee, Sword/Shield, Brilliant Diamond/Shining Perl and Scarlet/Violet.
Some people are doing extra challenges - which are extra fun - like that all Pokemon are self-caught, collecting all different forms (regional and gender) or caught in a Poke Ball. Some even have the rule to catch each PokĆ©mon in their original generation (āOrigin Dexā). Whatever youāll choose, it can be a big challenge with much fun.
Ok, last but not least, we need to clarify how you get all the special Balls to your main save. Unfortunately, this is the most boring part of it. You need to trade them from one save to another one by using a second Nintendo Switch. Fortunately, you can send over your HOME save to your second Nintendo Switch like all other game saves - I have done it here. Therefore, you do not need to subscribe for PokƩmon HOME a second time and complete a second Living Dex as well.
And last-last but not least, I want to tell you a little secret. Well, it is not that much of a secret, but maybe not that obvious: Always, when Iām preparing a save for redeems or Tera Raids, Iām also completing the PokeDex with the help of my Living Dex. On the same time, I trade a few farmed Events for special Balls (my standard ratio is 1 Generation 9 WIFI Event : 30 special Balls). When I farm herba mysticas in various 5-7 Star Tera Raids, I always combine this with completing my Aprimon collection. And sometimes, I even use my farmed special Balls to just exchange them with Aprimons (my standard ratio is 1 special Ball : 5 Aprimons).
Sometimes, Iām thinking about to ask straight for 150 Aprimons in exchange for 1 Event Iāve farmed. But I think it is not reasonable to ask anyone to take that amount of time for breedingā¦

About your tags, yes, Devon is based in Hoenn.
They really should be making more pokĆ© balls out of biodegradable material. Was reading up on the manufacturing process to see if anythingās changed since I last read up on it and that just came to mind. Itās not that hard with our modern technologies. We can revive PokĆ©mon from fossils. We donāt need plastic on net balls and dive balls. Fucking ridiculous.

knuckles knows how to make hisuian pokƩballs and amy knows how to make apriballs and together they are unstoppable. amy makes BANK making apriballs since they're so rare
tails has a ninetales he's had since it was a vulpix. obviously. he would also come upon an alolan vulpix and take that one in too. i think he'd like steel types, i can imagine him with a few lab helper magnemites around and a voltorb or two.
sonic has an affinity for pretty much every pokƩmon. they all really like him, and legendary pokƩmon can identify his connection with the chaos emeralds and treat him with respect, if not reverence depending on their level of legendary-ness. giratina likes shadow better though
shadow likes synthetic pokƩmon, having a sylvally made in the ark (as a type:null at the time) as his lifelong partner. he also likes the porygon line, although they're too colorful for him to take on as true companions. he attracts a lot of ghost type pokƩmon, and he treats them kindly. you never know if a ghost pokƩmon was someone who was loved dearly in life. i think he'd have a claydol too. maybe a yamask.

I have built up a collection of apriball, safari ball, dream ball, beast ball and sport ball Pokemon over the last several months.
If anyone has been lucky enough to obtain safari balls or sport balls from the cram-o-matic in Sword/Shield, I'd be willing to trade some shiny Pokemon for the balls on their own.

For this batch Iāll probably try making balls with pysanky patterns! Working with wax, dye and vinegar is so fun and pysanky patterns are so geometric and pretty. Right now I think a net ball would look really pretty with pysanky, maybe a moon ball or a dusk ball too.
How are you guys doing today? Anything fun? 'v'

Hey I have like a bunch of pokemon in Violet I want to release to get more space in my boxes but I have a bunch of them that other people may want, specially if you're interested in filling your dex/apriball hunting, so...
I have:
Growlithe (x20): Naive, in level balls. IVs are meh; all have at least 1 perfect IV though. 4 females, the rest are males.
Eevee (x31): Modest and Jolly, in love balls. Around 4-5 perfect IVs. All males besides 2 females (one Modest, one Jolly)
Fennekin (x64): Modest and Timid, in dream balls. Around 4-5 perfect IVs. 8 females, of both natures.
Hisuian Zorua (x2): Lonely, in moon balls. 1-2 perfect IVs. One male and one female.
Sprigatito (x1): Jolly, in a pokƩball. 4 perfect IVs and male.
All of them are from a game in spanish, so if you played in any other language, you can use the Masuda method (pairing two mons from different languages) with them to improve your chances at getting a shiny!
I'm looking for:
Literally anything? I just want more space in my boxes so you can send me any 'mon you've just caught as long as you don't mind me releasing it, so don't send anything valuable!
If you do want to gift me a pokemon for me to keep, nickname it! I like my pokemon to have their own name, and probably I won't be able to rename them once I get them.
If you're interested just PM me and tell me which one/s you want (and if you want them nicknamed!).
