Last Song: Oh man I just got linked to Kaho Nakamura, and Lindy is a GREAT song. That bouncy guitar line! The way Nakamura’s percussive vocals nimbly skip and stumble and skid through the instrumental! So good.

Last Movie: Just watched Babushkas of Chernobyl, which is really lovely. Old ladies are just some of the most fascinating people to talk to.

Currently Reading: Ha ha ha five things at once and not finishing any of them, as is my wont these days. Just started Never Have I Ever, by Isabel Yap, which is a great collection of fantasy/sci fi short stories so far, often drawing on Filipino folklore! And just finished A Desolation Called Peace, which was everything I wanted from a sequel.

Oh wait and I’m rereading Ancillary Justice and screaming into my hands because I love spaceships so much. (So much.)

Currently Watching: I think CR is the only thing that I’m watching regularly, haha. Wait no, I’m finally finishing Nirvana in Fire, which I have managed to stretch over the course of literally four years despite (because of??) the fact that it’s wrenching and fascinating and great.

Currently Listening: Adding this category because I wanted to shout out two of my favorite podcasts these days: Cracked Spines (Extremely funny book discussions. I know many of you, like me, deeply enjoy books about Arctic Bad Times, and this podcast is aimed at exactly that reading demographic. Please listen to the one about Island of the Lost and join me in requesting books about obscure New Zealand shipwrecks from your local public library.) and CLAMPcast in Wonderland (a really thoughtful read-through and discussion of CLAMP’s oeuvre, for those like me who have done their time in the clamp mines. :Db)

Hiii!! I don’t know if I am too late to the drawing prompt party, but after seeing your drawing of frumpkin lying in the patch of sun (beautiful! Glorious!!! Makes me warm and cozy just looking at it!!!) — I wonder if I might request something frumpkin related too? 👉👈 you know when cats sit on a glass table and from underneath their bodies and toe beans do the squishy thing? That’s how I always think of tm9 looking up at frumpkin as he sits on the dome that caleb casts as frumpkin keeps watch. However you wish to take the prompt is totally cool by me (or not at all—which is cool by me too!) ✌️🫰

This is the real reason why Frumpkin's night watch perception checks are always so bad.

Blue Perennem

Common names: taintflower, gooch poppy, grundlebundle, taint-patiens, pussy willow, butt-ercup, nether-lily, panty-petunia, chrysanthebum, down-low daisy (1)

Appearance: Leaves and stems are greyish or black, and similar in shape to those of a rose bush. Flowers are a vivid blue, each with six petals, and each petal bearing distinct variegation that resembles a screaming face.

Etymology: Most scholars agree Blue Perennem takes its name from Archaic Common word perennis, meaning "everlasting", possibly in reference to its survival in harsh environments or its use in healing medicines. However, folklore points to its origin in the Modern Common word perineum, which informs many all of its common names. The association of perineum with the flower itself is unclear. It may be that in some phenotypes, the center of the flower markedly resembles an anus, and thus the petals would be analogous to the aforementioned perineum.

Distribution: Blue Perennem is an uncommon flower native to the Grey Valley, a region of the Cliffkeep Mountains north of the Umbra Hills in Tal'Dorei. It can be found growing in areas rich with demonic energy, cursed magic, death, loss, or other sites where significant conflict has occurred.

Uses and cultivation: Blue Perennem is used in powerful restorative medicines, in particular those reversing damage caused by poisons. Cultivation is largely unsuccessful. Despite Blue Perennem's hardiness against the hazards of its native environment, it poorly tolerates transplanting. Advocates of the perineum-origin etymology point to this as an example countering the flower's association with "everlasting".

Thrilled that Madam Cordelia Glask got her turn in the spotlight this last episode of Candela Obscura: Circle of Tide and Bone! The moment she connected with the young girl so similar to her past self was very emotional and Gina's acting was superb, and I felt compelled to capture it all somehow. Gina's pose was giving me holy saint vibes especially with her halo-like hair ornament and the sea glass pendant she had wrapped up in her hands, and so that's what I went with. Sometimes, your past hardships mean you're able to help someone else in the future.

@theabominableblogger This ended up being "Frumpkin in lots of costumes having a great time" but you can assume Caleb spent a fair amount of gold buying these options. You also might think that Frumpkin would be annoyed by costumes, but he's visiting from the Feywild and honestly it's not even the weirdest thing he's experienced this week. Why not strut his stuff and let his old friend dote on him?
