Part 1
Prompts for fics, headcanons, or discussion, art, etc. Interpret these however you like and feel free to use them as just a jumping off point, you donāt have to stick to the exact prompt! If any fics like any of these have already been written, please feel free to recommend them to me!
Ian should be spending his summer vacation in ROTC classes, instead heās stuck in summer school. Any teenager who canāt control their powers gets sent there to learn how to harness their magic. Heās embarrassed that he still canāt master his magic but things get even worse when heās paired up with Mickey Milkovich, who not only was trying to give him a beat down a few days ago but is also in the class for the second time. Ianās definitely going to failā¦.
Itās a known fact - get beached and you turn into a human. All the merpeople are careful to avoid this. Although, Ianās never even heard of it actually happening to anyone. But when he accidentally gets trapped in a cave with Mickey Milkovich - he worries theyāre about to find out what happens when you turn human. If only Mickey hadnāt chased him, they wouldnāt be in this mess. Mickey maintains itās Ianās fault for swimming into this cave when the tide is going out. Now their tails are disappearing and everything is changingā¦.
King Terry has locked all his children in separate towers until the day he can arrange a marriage for them. Isolated and lonely, Mickey spends his days in boredom - until Ian appears in his room. Ianās been practicing his astral projection but heās not great at it - he never knows where heāll end up or for how long. Heās never been able to go to the same place twice but then he keeps ending up in Mickeyās room. Over time, they begin to fall in love but how can they be together?
Ian only comes to the lake because itās quiet and no one else is ever there. Mickey is much the same, wanting to get away from the terrors of home. Being half-mer he can change from human to merman easily and he spends hours in the water. Terry would kill him if he ever found out he was embracing his motherās heritage like this. But one day heās spotted by a guy sitting on the dock and heās immediately worried. Ian doesnāt know why they canāt just share the lake or why they canāt be friends.
(Vaguely inspired by Ozās storyline in BTVS S4) Being a werewolf is rare but not completely uncommon. Ianās not met a lot of other werewolves and the ones he has met with, he canāt really connect with. Until one night where he encounters another werewolf in the abandoned buildings - they spend the night play fighting in the moonlight, connecting on a level Ian didnāt think was possible. Exhausted they collapse into a deep sleep. When they wake, Ian is shocked to discover he is curled up to Mickey. But why didnāt Mickey tell Ian he was a werewolf also? All this time theyāve been hooking up and heās never mentioned this secret.
Ianās just told Mickey heās leaving for the army but on the way out of the Milkovich house he encounters Terry. Livid that Ian is seemingly still hanging around Mickey - he turns him into a cat. Scared and disorientated in his new animal form, Ian goes to his siblings but none of them take any interest in the stray cat. Reluctantly, he goes to Mickey, hoping that he will somehow sense the ginger cat is Ian. Will Mickey realise the cat is Ian? And will he be able to help turn Ian back to his human form?
Accidentally caught in the crossfire of someone elseās drama, Mickey finds himself trapped in a genie bottle. Possibly for life, or maybe not that long considering Ian stumbles, literally, across the bottle minutes later. Quickly discovering that Mickey appears every time he rubs the bottle, Ian realises that heās got three wishes to use. But heās heard horror stories of wishes gone wrong, so he needs to think very carefully about what to wish for. Before long, Ian is rubbing the bottle two or three times a day, at first to discuss wishes but then just because he likes talking to Mickey. But Mickey wants out of the bottle and the only way to do so is if someone wishes for it but heās forbidden from asking, so heās just gonna have to hope that Ian does of his own free willā¦.
Rare Creature Identification. Itās an additional EMT training course that everyone has to take. Treating humans is easy in comparison to the multitude of different magical creatures that they may come across on a daily basis, so all EMTs need to know how to identify and treat a magical creature. Ianās nervous though - Sueās descriptions of the guy who teaches the course are a bit worrying. She tells him heās got an encyclopaedic knowledge but heās kinda rude and grumpy. Rough around the edges. Ian tells himself itāll be fine, that thereāll be loads of other people and he can just sit in the back. But when he gets thereā¦.heās the only one taking the course.
Being a vampire is more boring than Mickey imagined. And a lot more organised. Who knew heād get a mentor and be required to live with said mentor for a whole six months to āadjust to being undeadā? At first glance his mentor, Ian, seems a bit too good and nice to be a card carrying member of the undead, and Mickey is looking forward to pushing his buttons and seeing how much he can mess around. But Ianās not all that he seems. In fact, heās starting to push Mickeyās buttonsā¦.
Ian and Mickey form an accidental telepathic bond and it makes working at the Kash and Grabā¦.difficult. After all, itās not just that they can now communicate telepathically, they can also hear each otherās thoughts. And it turns out, theyāve both got a lot of thoughts about each other.
Mickeyās good at keeping secrets - after all, sneaking around with Gallagher has given him a lot of practice. There is one secret heās struggling to hide though. Something that makes him different, something that makes him weird. He has wings. White, fluffy, feathery wings. Most of the time theyāre two small bumps on his back, just below his shoulders, but when extended theyāre big and long. The problem isā¦now that he and Ian are kissing, theyāre also touching moreā¦and Ianās hands keep going dangerously close to Mickeyās backā¦ā¦
Ianās new neighbour is hot. But heās kinda aloof, rude even. Not interested in Ianās attempts at flirting. So Ian backs off. Then the dreams start - intense sexual, erotic dreams. Mickey doesnāt realise heās doing it at first, sharing Ianās dreams with him, but then he realises that these fantasies are not his but Ianās. Itās just a thing that happens when youāre an incubus - he gains strength from the dreams. But he feels awkward, this has never happened before (heās done so well suppressing his incubus side) and he canāt quite believe someone as attractive as Ian has thoughts like this about Mickey.
Everyone thinks Mickey Milkovich is liar. That his blog which documents ghost sightings is fake. Itās got to be, right? Ghosts donāt exist. And despite Mickeyās claim that heās invented a way to photograph them, itās so obviously a hoax. Still, Ianās been asked by his editor to interview Mickey for a feature on local mythology and hoaxes. Getting a chance to talk to Mickey is difficult as heās suspicious of everyone but once Ian doesā¦.he finds Mickey surprisingly convincing.
Ianās landlord keeps calling the exterminator for his property. And itās annoying the fuck out of Ian. It doesnāt matter to him that the pixies are annoying or that they are slowly but surely damaging things. They shouldnāt be exterminated. Itās not fair. Mickey is the exterminator who keeps having to come back time and time again because Ianās some kinda pixie rights activist. Eventually the landlord comes up with an unusual plan, heāll pay Mickey to stay for a week in the property with Ian and get rid of the pixies for good. Over the weekā¦.both Ian and Mickey start to forget all about the pixiesā¦..
Ian is a siren who wants to be good, he doesnāt want to lure anyone to their doom or hurt anyone in anyway. And he hasnāt. Sure, heās a bit lonely but heās got his favourite rock where he likes to sit at night and thatās enough. Then the bored and isolated lighthouse keeper takes an interest in him - watching him, trying to talk to him, each night coming closer and closer. Ian is worried heās somehow accidentally luring this man to him. What neither of them know is that Mickey is immune to Ianās siren callā¦but will they figure this out or lose the opportunity for both of them to have some happiness?
Mickeyās supposed to follow his father into the family business - stealing magic from witches and selling it for profit. Illegal but a common practice for those born without magic. The first time Mickey goes along to observe his father, he realises heāll never be able to steal magic like that. Still, he has to pretend so that he wonāt face his fatherās wrath. Then he meets Ian, a powerful witch, whose magic would provide them income for a year or more. But he falls in loveā¦.and something strange starts to happen - Mickey develops magic. How can he hide this from his father and how can he convince Ian that he was never, ever going to steal his magic?
Ianās new to being a demon and heās not loving it. So far heās been summoned repeatedly by some dumbass teenager who keeps ordering him to do random acts of violence around a certain neighbourhood in Chicago. This is not exactly what he thought would happen. This guy, Mickey, doesnāt have a lot of imagination - itās all destroy this, trash that, break this etc etc. Ianās not feeling very inspired. But he does find Mickey to be interesting and, wanting to spend more time with him, he allows Mickey to summon him into corporeal form which leads to a very entertaining night.
