Arthur can feel her looking at him. Her eyes seemed to bore into him. It makes him want to stop watching this onboard, to laugh, to get up from the kitchen table and to join her. But he doesn’t. He keeps watching and tries his best to ignore his girlfriend who is silently begging for his attention.

She gives a quiet huff and his lips twitch up into a smile.

The apartment is filled with quietness, only the sound of their breathing, the quiet hum of the refrigerator, and the even quieter sounds of the car onboard in his ears. It’s peaceful in an odd way.

He watches intently as the car goes into turn seven, nearly losing the racing line. As it regains he hears the couch creek and another quiet huff before the sound of socked feet padding across the hardwood fills his ears.

“Amour,” he warns when he feels her hovering behind him. She isn’t even touching him, not even making any noise but already his concentration is broken. “You’re making it so hard to concentrate right now.” “Good, pay attention to me.” He lets out a laugh as she speaks, her arms wrapping around him as she bends to rest her chin on his shoulder. “Have I been ignoring you?” She nods and he ignores the slight dig of her chin in his shoulder at the movement. “You have. It’s been hours since you even looked at me.” He lets out a little laugh, that was more than false, but he still closes his laptop and relaxes back into the chair, into her.

“Hello, amour.” He murmurs, tipping his head back when she stands straight to see her face. She smiles at him. “Hello, Thur.” He grins at her before puckering his lips. “Kiss?” She giggles but bends again, pressing a sweet gentle kiss to his lips. “Kiss.”

thinking about how arthur shoved a dagger into his own throat to save john from the king because john's his friend and he loves him. and then when arthur finally collapses beneath all of that pain and grief and guilt he's carried for years john saves him from being buried and then saves his life in the mines and arthur believes it's because john feels the same. they're friends and they love each other so of course. of course you would do anything to save the one you love.

so he trusts him. he trusts him all the way to new york and doesn't think for a moment that there could be something amiss. that john, his best friend who killed the last person he loved and whom he himself almost willingly died for, is lying to him. again.

Thoughts that just occurred to me about Percy Weasley

-the boy was def a victim of Parentification

-he was told is beloved pet was actually a grown ass man who also was a mass murder. I’m going to assume he didn’t take that well. Percy likely slept with that rat in the same bed; I can only imagine the mental toll that reveal took on him.

-his little sister was possessed and almost died. I feel like that’s not talked about enough lol.

-is told that his boss, the man he looks up to and who has mentored (?) him, sent an innocent Sirius Black to prison with no trial; and that everything that was done regarding the Death Eater trials was unethical and illegal? That’s a rip in your faith of government that he’s worked his own life to work in.

-was friends with Cedric; this is more of a between the lines read of canon, but they were neighbors and around the same age. Totally makes sense they would be friends, and so post the Graveyard, of course Percy would be confused and angry at why his friend is dead.

- Percy gets promoted at the ministry, he’s like 18-19, and is functionally running an entire department by himself. Only for his father to tell him that he doesn’t deserve it and that he only got the position due to his bosses wanted to use him as a spy. Of course that would hurt a normal person, but following all the things previously listed?

Percy being told he would easily betray his family would be a guy punch. Here is this boy who likely stepped in all the time to help raise his siblings, and looked after them at school. He put up with all of their antics, and still took care of them. He has done NOTHING to show that he disliked his family and would betray them beside take up a job position that was encouraged by his father (Arthur wanted his kids to work in the ministry).

Furthermore, it wasn’t public knowledge that Voldy wasn’t full dead post 1981 Halloween. Of course Percy would be questioning the events leading to Cedric’s death. You have Harry- who is a trouble maker and who breaks rules that are in place for safety purposes- who is tied to Ginny’s experience, and is the one who reveal his pet rat was actually a creepy man. Harry is the root of Percy’s blissful ignorance. It makes perfect sense he would be wary of everything.

I totally see how he could have seen Cedric’s death as being and accidental result of Harry’s rule breaking, and Dumbledore (who public ally favors Harry) covering for him by saying Voldy is back.

If Voldy is back, Dumbledore automatically gets more power in society since Voldy fears him- so there is the motivation of a lie.

Anyway, this is me basically saying that Percy def wasn’t the only, and really even the bad guy in his situations in canon.

Sometimes the way I think of characters is very hard to put into words. The irony of being a fanfic writer and having this issue does not escape me.

But its like. How do I properly explain all the small ideas I have about gilbert. How do I explain the nuances of some things I feel like he would struggle with that is not at all confirmed in canon. It all feels like vague concepts and once in a blue moon am I able to put it into words.

But can you imagine, hear me out:

Immortal Merlin being so sick and tired of waiting for Arthur that the triple goddess takes pity on her child and grants him a different kind of immortality- reincarnation, where he's reincarnated as Harry Potter Link from Legend of Zelda style. His soul never finding rest and never truly being able to reach Avalon, but its fine because anything is better than spending centuries without his other half.

Arthur Pendragon reviving as Draco Black Malfoy, a soul full of courage, loyalty, and righteousness but forced- once again, into being a prat by his father. A soul destined to be bathed in 'Pendragon red' but being forced into green.

Lucious being disappointed by how kind his firstborn is by nature to all things that him and Narcisa have a second child Mordred Lucious Malfoy- someone that, by nature is an extremist and easily influenced- as a back up. This gives Draco the pressure to try and be the perfect heir so his little brother doesn't become Lord Malfoy.

Tom Riddle studying Morgana and being inspired by her very extremist ideas about magic and non-magic.
