The eyes of the woman he loved
You light the skies up above me a star so bright you blind me. Don't close your eyes, don't fade away, don't fade away. All the stars are coming out tonight. They're lighting up the sky tonight for you, for you. You saved my soul, don't leave me now. Don't leave me now. You and me we can ride on a star if you stay with me we can rule the World. All the stars are coming out tonight they're lighting up the sky tonight for you. For you!

Ashara Dayne introduces Barristan Selmy: The Injustice at House Targaryen
"Knighted under Jaehaerys Targaryen. It was Duncan Targaryen who gave it the nickname as you all know it....Barristan the Bold.
Prince Duncan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The deadliest guardsmen. He's a painter a force of nature. You feel called to greatness in the presence of his inspiration. Fear him when he sees what Stags and Lions do. A painter who only uses red. He's better, stronger and more powerful under the Targaryen banner. An artist he's the pure and real inspiration. Father of our daughter Alysanne and we love him with all our hearts. No army in the World can stop him from killing Robert Baratheon. The bold Star. He has balls of valyrian steel. His anger is tremendous.
My cake carver. He was always mine and i'm his. Best friend of Elia, Lyanna, Arthur, Rhaegar, Rhaella and Gerold Hightower. Only House Targaryen gives Independence since the Iron Throne was destroyed. King's Landing belongs to us we're the strongest and best side.
Gerold and Rhaella always loved each other and from the abyss screams Daemon Targaryen haha. Elia and Lyanna Targaryen married, adopted through Rhaella, she's Queen of King's Landing right now. Rhaella the mother of Lyanna and Elia. So much better than the three hypocritical, mad sons of Rickard Stark. Rickard Stark and his three mad sons rage in Winterfell haha haha haha.
The Tully and Ryswell bitches are raging haha. Fuck Ned Stark fuck that hypocrite. Fuck Robert Baratheon fuck that rapist haha haha. Bobby B my ass. Don't get what Lord Eddard Stark ever saw in him."

Don't kill your detective!
Tumblr media
This is an interesting little article I just discovered on Medium.com: When Arthur Conan Doyle Killed Sherlock Holmes. Now, every Sherlock Holmes fan, I assume, has heard or read the story of how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle got so sick of writing the Holmes stories, that he decided to "kill" his creation by having him plunge to his presumed death at the bottom of the Reichenbach Falls (in "The Final Problem"). I initially assumed that this article would just be a basic recap of that story. Instead, the author uses Doyle's assumptions about the value of his non-Holmes writing to make a point about how we rate our own work. She writes about something called "the Dunning-Kruger Effect," and shares this quote from Wikipedia:
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which relatively unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly assessing their ability to be much higher than it really is. The bias was first experimentally observed by David Dunning and Justin Kruger of Cornell University in 1999. Their research also suggests corollaries: highly skilled individuals may underestimate their relative competence, they may erroneously assume that tasks which are easy for them are also easy for others.
She sums it up thus: "In other words, mediocre people tend to be more confident and overrate their abilities." I'm sure many of us have encountered this tendency in everyday life. It's an interesting point, and relating it to Doyle's decision to kill off his most famous character is an intriguing take on the concept.

So I clearly missed some things due to my severe lack of activeness on this hellsite (derogatory) but I'd very much like to know more about Then He Got Rough if you feel comfortable sharing.
If not though, that's totally okay!! Either way, hope you're doing well, my friend 💜🙏🏻
!!!! Thats my Original Work!! I occasionally mention it on here, but I do need to be quite careful about what I say cuz theirs a lotta stuff in it that is meant to be a surprise XD But goddddddddddddddd I love talking about it, so thank you for asking!! ^^
Basically it is a small town murder mystery, but using Slasher Movie Tropes. Its also got a lotta platonic love and other more complicated kinds of relationships because I'm, of course, aro and I need that shit XD Here's a basic blurb I made up for someone else who asked one time ^^
Hallie (the virgin) meets Edward Brown (the killer) and they hit it off- she's exactly the kinda girl he likes; friendly, kinda reserved, and they have... err- certain things from their pasts... in common, it turns out. And to her, Edward's the perfect guy, too! He's a young English teacher at the high school and he's got this skinny Clark Kent thing about him?? Awkward, and funny. She doesn't realise he's a part of the little town's most powerful (and tight-lipped) family, the Bamford's (He was adopted into it- Edward Bamford-Brown), until she tells her best friend and roommate Maggie (the whore) about him. Maggie immediately develops a bad taste in her mouth when it comes to Edward. She goes rogue and decides to investigate, employing Hallie's family doctor, Arthur (the scholar), and his old friend/new roommate combo; anxious ex-con Rodney (the fool), who just so happens to be Edwards adoptive aunt Carla Bamford's ex husband. Doors are opened for Maggie into the world of the Bamford's through Arthur and Rodney, and Winnie Bamford (the athlete) later on, and she uncovers some bone chilling secrets about everyone in this family, and everyone a r o u n d them, too, that make her determined to save her friend before its too late.
**You might also be interested to know that, in my head, Rodney (Who is a very charismatic, but very anxious man who used to do some pretty bad things but feels terrible (he knows his behaviour had everything to do with self-loathing) is really truly trying to clean up his act these days post-divorce; rooming with his old friend Arthur and working at the grocery store as its the only job he could get) is played by a more middle-aged Robert Englund XDD (Closer to Professor Wexler in Urban Legend then Inkubus) . Arthur is played by Brad Dourif XDD (so yes- freddy kruger and chucky XD Of course.)
Some little tid-bits I can/want to share also:
The Bamford Family Line-Up:
Mrs Emily Bamford: The matriarch. A cold-hearted snake woman. She pretty much only loves Edward.
Mayor Richard Bamford: He and Em were highschool sweethearts back in the day but broke up when he left to pursue politics in a big city-- but mysteriously came back and married Emily a few months later despite everyone knowing he was doing so well in the city?? Took the Bamford name and everything. Its rumoured that Emily's parents blackmailed him *cough*. Everyone knows Emily is in charge. Richard always looks kind of like a show pony next to her, despite being actual Mayor.
Carla Bamford: Emily's adopted sister and town journalist. She's kinda lily-livered. The only thing she really stood against the family about was her marriage to Rodney (They didn't approve. He was a damn con), but even that fell apart eventually.
Rodney Hawk (Formally Bamford. They made him take their name but he's got his back, now): I already talked about him XD
Edward Bamford-Brown: THE MAIN VILLAIN. Edward is Emily and Richard's adopted son, the same age as their biological daughter (Winnie. up next) who... well, its no secret- is the favourite. Emily would let him get away with anything. She would help him get away with anything. He can do no wrong, in her eyes.
Winnie Bamford: Emily and Richard's biological daughter. She's an insane freak- they sent her away to boarding school in Georgia but she came back worse, and there are s o many rumours about her in town; Orgies and deviant sexual activity, mostly (most of it is true, too). She has a major thing for 'Uncle Rodney' and makes him very very uncomfortable. On the bright side though?? She's more then happy to fuck things up for her spiteful mother by assisting Maggie to uncover some dark secrets (: She wont make it easy, though 😅 That would be no fun.
Unnamed Bamford Family Member: I cant tell you anything about them, whoops.
And Tom Manning: Richard's best friend, and the town lawyer (Edwards lawyer). So close with Rich and Em (And Winnie and Edward) that he's practically part of the family. I have described him as 'a hot dill pickle in a sharp suit if he was a harvard law graduate'. He's slimy, charismatic and seemingly perfect.
Here are the main characters Looks, if you're interested 😅
(Also another little thing that is really just a convoluted blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of inside joke- Maggie, who has a huge thing for Arthur and constantly describes his eyes as 'brad dourif-blue', is a major Childs Play fan.
... and hallie loves a nightmare on elm street *cough*. she doesnt really interact with rodney, but during the few times they do, they totally have Something. and when she describes her perfect guy?? its the opposite to edward. its rodney. anyway- )
Anyway, thank you for asking! And reading, if you made it this far XDD Sorry for the word-vomit!! I just really really love this story and I really hope one day I can finish it ^^ <3<3<3<3<3<3
I hope you are doing well too- better then before at least ^^ I hope the time away from Tumblr is doing you well! You're right, it can be a very harmful atmosphere and I'm so proud of you for knowing when you need to take a step back!! 💛💛💛💛💛

Do you think the wizarding world would ever accept science and technology? Personally I think eventually they would be forced to adapt
Some thoughts on the Wizarding World's profound ignorance when it comes to muggles and technology. Thoughts on the Wizarding World's acknowledgement of the muggle sciences. Thoughts on the Wizarding World’s knowledge of math and science.
No.
Why would they be forced to adapt?
They haven't yet, and the muggle world has certainly changed dramatically during the implementation of the statute of secrecy. That muggles now have computers, cameras on street corners, etc. seems to cause them no major concern in part because wizards don't understand it.
What will likely happen instead is that the statute of secrecy will blow up in their face in such a manner that they can’t obliviate it away. They may try a mass obliviate and go around smashing computer monitors, and that might help them for a bit, but they won’t really be forced to adapt.
Or certainly understand the muggle sciences and technology.
They have the barest concept that these disciplines even exist much less what they mean. Arthur Weasley is the foremost expert on muggle technology, heads the department in the ministry, and his flying car works nothing like an actual car. He uses magic to make the car work. He has no idea how muggle currency works. And he is constantly confused by anything muggle.
And he’s the best they’ve got.
Muggleborns are better, but not by much as they’re taken out of the muggle world at eleven and never receive the rest of that education. Then they think with hubris that they know all they need to know because they’re muggleborn.
It’s like people who use Twitter saying they’re very technically savvy and so much more aware than their parents. No, you just know how to use Twitter, congratulations.
The Wizarding World is a mass Dunning Kruger effect where they genuinely don’t know that they don’t know. And because they don’t know that they don’t know they’ll steal nifty muggle ideas when they see something interesting, but they’ll have no idea how any of it works or what science even means and how it works.
It’s very easy to think science is the technology. And for wizards I imagine them thinking it’s muggle versions of spells. I highly doubt they’d understand the scientific method, the history behind science and technology, let alone how these things even work.
Harry Potter never attends even a basic math course.
Remember that.
And because the wizards think they know all they need to know... why adapt?

Harry Baur in Les Misérables (Raymond Bernard, 1934) Cast: Harry Baur, Charles Vanel, Florelle, Josseline Gaël, Gaby Triquet, Jean Servais, Orane Demazis, Gilberte Savary, Charles Dullin, Marguerite Moreno, Émile Genevois, Robert Vidalin, Paul Azaïs, Max Dearly, Henry Krauss. Screenplay: Raymond Bernard, André Lang, based on a novel by Victor Hugo. Cinematography: Jules Kruger. Production design: Lucien Carré, Jean Perrier. Music: Arthur Honegger. Harry Baur gives one of the great film performances in Les Misérables, beginning with a tour de force in the first installment, subtitled Tempest in a Skull, in which he plays not only the brutish convict Jean Valjean and his first assumed identity, the benevolent mayor of Montreuil-sur-Mer, M. Madeleine, but also the addle-brained Champmathieu, wrongly fingered as the fugitive Valjean. Baur's Valjean is not the dashing, younger heroic figure embodied by Fredric March in Richard Boleslawski's 1935 Hollywood version or Hugh Jackman in Tom Hooper's 2012 film of the musical. March and Jackman had to work hard to suggest Valjean's hardened convict past, but Baur looks the part. He cleans up nicely, though. Raymond Bernard's version is closer to the epic Victor Hugo novel than the later adaptations, which necessitates its miniseries length: a 281-minute total run time, divided into three films. Trilogies typically sag in the middle: In Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings, for example, The Two Towers (2002) is weaker than The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and The Return of the King (2003). But Bernard manages to give each part fairly equal heft, concentrating on Valjean's transformation in Tempest in a Skull, on the thwarted manipulations of the titular couple in The Thénardiers, and on the fight on the barricades in Freedom, Dear Freedom. This is not to say that there isn't some slackness within each installment: Bernard, like many directors who mastered their skills making silent films, doesn't seem fully at home with sound even yet; there are scenes in which the actors seem to be holding a pose a beat or two longer than necessary. And despite Arthur Honegger's distinguished score, Bernard allows some scenes that could use the "sweetening" of background music to go without it. In The Thénardiers, for example, the plot to ensnare Valjean and the ensuing fight scene could have used some tension-and-release music, but the score only begins, rather abruptly, when the lovers, Marius (Jean Servais) and Cosette (Josseline Gaël), meet. But as a totality, Les Misérables is a triumph, and apparently a little-known one, to judge by the fact that it doesn't come up as one of the top results in an IMDb search. Jules Kruger's cinematography gives an expressionist tilt to some of its scenes, and the production design, from the slummy haunts of the Thénardiers to the opulence of Gillenormand's mansion, is superb. But most of all it has Baur and a tremendous supporting cast, particularly Florelle* as a very touching Fantine, and Émile Genevois as a memorable Gavroche. Charles Vanel's Javert is not humanized sufficiently in the script, I think, so that his suicide comes as something of an anticlimax, but he gives it all the implacable menace the role allows him. But it's Baur who carries the film as impressively as he carries Servais's Marius through the sewers in the climax.
*Her full name was Odette Elisa Joséphine Marguerite Rousseau, and she was occasionally billed as Odette Florelle. It's too bad that today her screen name sounds like an air freshener.

Silent Knight Shō
After Saint Seiya, and before B'tX, Masami Kurumada came up with what turned out to be the very short lived Silent Knight Shō which lasted two manga volumes in 1991.
In this series we find that every human is descended, in some way, from an animal that they share a deep connection with. It can be any animal from a Tyrannosaurus Rex to a Spider, and certain people can call on the embodiment of that animal in the form of mystic armour, called, in this iteration, a Shelter.
I'm not sure about the plot to be honest, as it never came out in a langauge I can read, but I do like the designs of the various Shelters, and how they progress.
A lot of them are more than slightly similar to certain Saints, and Hades Spectres, but they're still cool!
