In Greek mythology, Orestes was the son of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon, and the brother of Electra. He is the subject of several Ancient Greek plays and of various myths connected with his madness and purification.
Here he is! I usually give a bit more detail into the landscape when I paint the beach, but I made a creative decision to not push it further and leave the area outside the focal point (those eyes, always those eyes) a little messy. I wanted the raw edge to it, the animalistic aggression/hurt seen in the original classic painting.
