Typical root causes of estrogen dominance are negative stress, medications, environmental toxins like xenoestrogens, and dietary factors with a critical view on the often underrated phytoestrogens. It is often overviewed that estrogen dominance also occurs on normal levels when other essential hormones are too low. we see lot of women with PCOD/PCOS and Hypothyroidism struggling to lose weight. Well.. these hormonal issues definitely slow down the weight loss progress as they interfere with our metabolism. But, we can still make good progress, here are few important points to remember: ✅ There is no special diet or foods for PCOD or thyroid issues. Lifestyle modification is the key 🔑 ✅ Target having protein at least 1gm per kg of your body weight. ✅ Soya and dairy are absolutely fine in moderation. ✅ Include more fruits and veggies. Cabbage/broccoli are absolutely fine in moderation. Cook them well. ✅ Insulin resistance is usually present in PCOD/thyroid issues. OVULATION PHASE: Ovulation is the main event of your cycle (not your period like you may think). You period will always come about 12-16 days after you have ovulated. A late / missing period means delayed or lack of ovulation. After your period your estrogen levels start to rise in the follicular phase building up the uterine lining. Right before ovulation your brain sends a hormone to your ovaries (LH- luteinizing hormone) to signal to release an egg. After you release an egg, the remaining sac - the corpus luteum starts to release progesterone. You MUST ovulate to produce progesterone. Progesterone raises your basal body temperature (BBT) slightly. from dry to sticky in the early part of the follicular phase and becomes more creamy then a stretchy / egg white consistency around ovulation. This is a marker to predict Focus on supporting gut health, estrogen metabolism, blood sugar balance, and antioxidant-rich foods during this phase. This higher energy is great for higher intensity movement like spinning, circuit training, yoga sculpt, running, or HIlIT (unless of course your adrenals are a little stressed and this type of exercise is leaving you feeling a bit depleted opt for more noderate / lower intensity if this is you). Your energy is highest around this time due to the peak of your sex hormones.
