reminder that I also have Sunder up on Webtoons and if you can’t become a patron, giving a 10-star rating and liking the pages there is the next best thing!
Sunder doesn’t have a lot of reach since I can only afford to make one page a month, but that could change if my numbers on Webtoon get high enough for it to gain some traction 👀

pairing: aemond targaryen x daemon's daughter!oc (dad!daemon targaryen x mom!reader au)
author's note: to be honest, i wasn't going to do this. but i know there's at least 10 people that actually like the whole dad!daemon au, so here's the start of alymond's relationship. young adult!alyssa is entirely inspired by bea miller's album "aurora", so that's the kind of vibe i'm going for her. (also, let's suppose laena married some lord and had baela and rhaena.)
reblogs, feedbacks and likes are appreciated. support your content creators 💓 please leave a comment if you liked my work, and enjoy your reading.
warnings: really fluff, aemond being nice for the first time in his life, and alyssa being a baddie raised by daddy daemon.

"You must admit, he is really handsome." Rhaena said with a wicked smirk.
Alyssa scoffed. Ever since her friends discovered her betrothal they have been teasing her constantly.
Years had passed, and everyone, especially the King, still picked on that betrothal matter.
"He is an one-eyed arrogant twat, and nothing but that."
She also thought her cousin, Aemond, was a very talented warrior, but still an arrogant twat.
The girls had a free pass to watch the boys training, but not to train themselves.
Alyssa liked to observe their movements, she could learn a thing or two from that.
Her brothers weren't in the field that day.
"Only here to watch, girls? Join the fun! I bet I could keep you entertained." Prince Aegon said in a mocking tone.
"You know we can't, my prince." Baela replied, rolling her eyes.
"Ah, c'mon! I promise to take it easy on you, ladies."
Aemond silently watched his brother's provocations.
The princess had been wearing ringmail all day, so she was the only one between the girls appropriately dressed to training.
"C'mon Alyssa, let's see if your pretty hands can work! If you rather, I could teach you other ways to make them work in private."
Smirking, Alyssa unsheathed Doombringer.
"Please, do take it easy on me, dear cousin." She faked a plead in a sweet voice.
Aemond crossed his arms and watched in a corner. He already knew how well the princess' little hands could work. One of his eyes now was history.
Like the One-Eyed Prince expected, Alyssa effortlessly defeated Prince Aegon.
Once the tip of the valyrian steel of her sword made contact with the prince's pale skin of his cheek, he called for surrender.
"You are going to regret this!" Aegon warned, as he left the training camp with a bleeding cheek.
Baela and Rhaena followed him right after.
Aemond smirked wickedly and came closer to his cousin. She was too distracted, cleaning her blade, to notice his presence.
"That was impressive."
The princess sneared, "You're not impressed, just trying to make small talk. I'm not interested, Aemond."
"Don't you ever lower your guard? I'm trying to be nice, and you know I don't do that very often."
"Do you?" Alyssa cocked an eyebrow.
"What?"
"Lower your guard?"
Aemond frowned. A tension made appearance between them.
"You should go, Aemond. Your mommy is not gonna be very happy if she sees you getting intimate with the Eye Ripper Lady." Alyssa turned around, and her body crashed into his chest.
Until now, she never noticed how close he really was to her, and how his tall body towered over hers.
"It's not like your daddy would be thrilled either. Also, I am having a nice conversation with my betrothed, as you still remain engaged to me."
"Keep dreaming, One Eye. The King can squirms all he wants, but you know 'us' it's never going to happen. And I know you are just accepting this to frustrate my family."
Alyssa tried to flee away but the prince closed his hand around her fist, pulling her back to him.
"Perhaps. But it's so difficult to believe that I wouldn't be so opposed to this union? Think about all the future little dragonriders we could bring into this world" Aemond teased, his face became closer to hers.
"If you keep talking, I'm literally going to take your other eye with my own hand!" The blonde princess hissed.
"I dare you." Aemond widely opened his eye, looking even more terrifying than he already was.
The princess hooked her hand and tried to attack his face, aiming for his eye. He was quicker to grab both her fists and hold them against her back.
She was at his mercy.
"I admire your courage, cousin. How'd you think uncle Daemon would react if I gave you an eyepatch too?" He smiled.
There was something so attractive about his psychotic smile.
"He'd free your head from your body and give it to me as a souvenir"
"And how'd you think he'd react if I gave you a kiss?" Aemond whispered, his lips almost brushed against hers.
Alyssa swallowed hard, too stunned to speak.
"I don't think he needs to know." The prince answered his own question.
He kissed her. Alyssa squirmed against his hold, but a few seconds later she accepted his lips, and opened her mouth to him.
That was her first intimate moment with a man.
When their lips were apart, she stared at him. She was in shock, and he couldn't stop smirking to her reaction.
He thought it was adorable.
"It's our secret. Marry me, and maybe we can do this again." Aemond muttered close to her ear.
He let go of her, and left before she could react to what just happened between them.

i support tumblr blaze because fanwork creators need it.
other social medias and those goddamn algorithms don't give fanwork creators the exposure we need to get our work seen - especially if we're new or little-known creators or creators for small fandoms. tagging our creations appropriately, reblogging our own stuff, promoting upcoming pieces, and crossposting across multiple social media accounts does far less these days than it did in tumblr's heyday ie. a time when users actually engaged with posts rather than just mindlessly scrolling by (we've all seen the posts highlighting the decline in user interaction and how it will be the death of fanartists and therefore fanworks). it's not enough.
but tumblr blaze allows creators to pay a small one-time fee to (temporarily) share their art with a wider audience (ofc the problem with this is we are all poor starving artists but the option is appreciated nonetheless). i've done it with several of my spn fanart pieces - one of the biggest fandoms on tumblr - and the report that comes after the blaze period unfortunately highlights the sad reality that people just don't engage like they used to (eg. my pieces received thousands of 'impressions' - meaning they were on that many peoples' dash, but with 'engagements' ie. likes/reblogs/replies averaging out at a few dozen, with 80% of those being Likes - which we all know does nothing to boost post circulation).
what's worse is that these stats aren't that different from my non-blazed pieces. (blaze saw a few of my posts reach above 100 notes in a few days which was amazing, but my stuff usually averages out around 100 notes anyway even if it takes a few weeks).
it sounds bleak, i know. why pay to promote something that's not going to get a significant amount of notes - preferably reblogs - or engage any more users than if it weren't blazed?
the answer is: because it reaches users i can't. blaze reaches users who don't search the tags i use or don't follow my blog or my mutuals. sometimes that means reaching fandom folk who wouldn't have otherwise seen my work, and sometimes it means reaching folk who aren't in fandom at all. one of my fave engagements from blaze was someone seeing one of my castiel pieces and thinking it was an awesome scifi movie poster, then realising it was spn but loving it nonetheless. my art never would've reached that person without blaze and it may be a small win but it makes me smile.
because that's kind of the point of art. these days people Don't interact far more than they Do, and it sucks but it is what it is. but the reason i like blaze is it gives me the stats of how many people saw my creation. knowing thousands of people laid eyes on my work is pretty cool (like seeing view stats on youtube or ao3). maybe they didn't interact because they hate tumblr being monetized and users 'forcing' their posts onto the dash (lbr though: it's no worse than pickachu man) or maybe they don't like the fandom i'm in, or maybe they're lurkers who don't interact with posts they actually do like. but they still saw my art.
it's like hiring out a massive blank wall on a busy sidewalk for a few days and getting to paint my art there for people to see. some walk right by it, some stop and take their photo with it, for some it sparks thoughts/feelings/ideas, some even stop to write a little note about how much they liked it. but it was there for all to see, and i love that.
i love knowing that so many people saw my fanart because that alone makes it worthwhile. as an artist that's what i want: to reach people with my art whether they interact or not, whether they like it or not, at least my art was given the chance to shine, however briefly.
but yeh. if users stop interacting with fanworks then fanartists have to resort to paying to get their stuff seen.

hello everyone :) as someone who’s been in fandom spaces for a decade and creating content for half that time i think i’d like to talk about the concept of intrinsic value vs extrinsic value: especially when it comes to tumblr, a site where low reblog rates and terrible reblog-to-likes ratios have been an ongoing and worsening problem!
this is something younger people in fandom should know, i think, and it’s something i’ve learned and reinforced over the years myself. often times i see fandom creators complain about how punishing making art/writing/creating anything is, and how absolutely disheartening it is when they don’t get the traction they want, or when they see other people being more successful. it’s discouraging. it could make you feel inferior. you wonder what you’re doing wrong. i’m here to assure you that it’s Absolutely nothing — art is such a subjective thing, and timing and chance have so much to play. just because you are not as ‘popular’ does not mean you are less talented
however, that’s where the problem starts: if you only derive extrinsic value (validation from others) from making fandom content, you are setting yourself up for heartbreak and disappointment. if you are suffering a lot (sacrificing sleep, time, energy) to make fandom content and the only thing that makes it feel worth it is potential popularity, then i genuinely suggest you stop or cut down the amount you create for the sake of your health
i know it sounds so silly and obvious: make art only if you like it! write only if you have fun doing it! but that is how fandom works. that’s how it all started. none of us are doing this because we have to. we do it because we want to. and if you feel like making fandom content is making you more unhappy than happy, then i recommend you stop/take a break. there is NO shame in that. there are multiple ways to participate in fandom. there is no right or wrong as long as you aren’t hurting anyone. you don’t have to ‘make content’ to be absolutely vital to the community. every single person who interacts positively is important. just put out the energy you want to feel in a fandom space and that is the best thing you could possibly do :)
i absolutely understand the appeal of getting attention and love and appreciation for the things you do. however, it cannot be your sole motivation. this is something true of content creation in general. when you ask successful ccs what tips they have for streaming, most of them say do it because you like it. don’t do it for clout or it’ll kill your motivation. it’s the same for fandom spaces. it’s even more true for fandom spaces, because no one is paying us. and that’s why when i write/make any form of content i constantly ask myself the same question. am i having fun? is this worth it even if no one else cared? and if the answer is yes i go on!
in the same way how small ccs cannot expect big ccs to just ‘give’ them popularity and receive a huge dedicated following overnight, it is counterproductive to expect bigger blogs to reblog any and every piece of fandom content they see. and especially in smaller fandom spaces like tumblr, what we really need to emphasize and promote in general is interaction — reblog the things you like! talk about what you liked in the tags. whether you are a big blog or a small one, this is incredibly vital to any fan community. you might think you’re not making a difference because your reblog doesn’t expose a person’s work to thousands of followers, but i have personally found the greatest meaning in one sincerely made comment than i have in like… hundreds of silent likes/reblogs. the point is, as understandable as it is to resent blogs with huge followings who i cannot speak for, there is so, SO much power in all of us as individual members of this community
it goes without saying that we should encourage and support creators in any fandom. however, it worries me to see fans, especially young people in fandom, tear themselves apart over making content, things that should be joyful experiences. it’s worrying to see resentment within a community as well. let’s try to do right by each other, and please don’t sacrifice your health for fan content, or any content in general!

Lil prompt for Lady D and a female reader, can be headcanons or fic as you see best: One of the other lords, maybe Heisenberg to be a little shit, maybe Donna just being sweet, maybe Mother Miranda being a creep, starts flirting with reader whenever they see her, specially in front of Alcina. She's not mad at reader, but she does chase away the flirter, and then decides to show the reader just why being Lady Dimitrescu's consert is the best choice there is.
As stated in my rules, I don't do fic requests nor gendered readers so this shall be like an Imagine and a Gender Neutral reader :D
!!!Minors and ageless blogs dni as this is an Adult post and blog!!!
• Reblogs > Likes - Please Reblogs this content you hit Like on to support content creators like me :D
Warnings: R18+/NSFT under the cut, Reader is gn and ambiguous, possessive undertones
__________
It's not like your Lady made her feelings very obvious- let alone concise. You were her Personal Assistant, as she put it. You were to not be harmed by her daughters or herself and were given special treatment, in return you practically followed your Lady like a dutiful pup at the ready. Ready to pour her more wine, provide company, as well as reading the ledgers and working out her books for future trips or schedules.
This meant you were to attend when the Lords and Ladies had discussions. You were quite familiar with all of them by now, politely waiting outside the door when it came down to them getting to business. But this time when you turn to leave, it's Heisenberg who stops you with a, "Hey! Why dontcha stick around, doll? You're practically family, right?"
The word 'family' is seethed. A word caught on the tips of his glinting canines and the thickness of his cigar. It seemed a word he didn't like, but you pause, looking to your Lady who rests in her chair with her quellazaire perched between her gloved fingers. She regards you with a glance over, then a look over to Heisenberg who is patting the spot next to him with another. "Well? Come keep me company."
Alcina gestures for you to follow, and you bow your head politely before approaching the elegant couch. You take your spot next to him, hands folded in your lap and back straight. For the most part, he's shockingly polite as things begin. He doesn't touch you, but he does turn and cup his hand around your ear at some points to murmur to you about what a bore his 'big sister' was being when she'd decline on bringing guests around for more 'testing'.
His voice is low, caressing your skin and making your body shudder. At some point he laughs and it's low and smoky, making you briefly bite your lip. Out of the corner of your eye, you can see your Lady tense her jaw. Her ruby lips thinning and her dark gaze flickering to you.
When the meeting is over, Heisenberg thanks you for your company with a tip of his hat and tucking a piece of paper in your hand as he passes by. When you unroll it, you find it has numbers scribbled on it. And it had been rather long since you'd had a friend! It was exciting to you.
Especially to feel...wanted. He'd been kind enough, and besides, your Lady had been rather confusing. Some days she'd hold your chin and bow down to your height, pulling you up and let her breath brush your lips as she'd murmur for you to obey. Sometimes you'd walk into the same room as her to perform your duties and she'd scoff at you like you were nothing, shooing you off. And then other days she would offer for you to bathe in her huge bathtub, offering all her luxuries with it and telling you you worked too hard.
Up and down she was. You didn't like games being played with you. But it didn't seem you'd have to wait much longer for that.
!NSFT under cut here!
"I don't like the way he requested your company," Alcina begins that night as she sits at her vanity. You take care in taking the pins out of her hair, her sitting in a white night gown that's rather modest despite her ample cleavage. "He's a child, my dear. He takes what is mine and breaks it-"
"What is yours?" You question without thinking as you let her hair tumble down her shoulders. You stumble a bit on the stool you're standing on when you catch her golden gaze in the mirror, seeing just the way she narrows her eyes at your question and you stumble with your words. "W-what I mean to say is, My Lady- I-I-"
"Perhaps I have not been clear, pet. Forgive me for making that mistake." Her voice is eerily calm when she speaks, standing from her seat and turning to face you. Even on the stool you only come up to chest height at best, and you swallow thickly. Her cold fingers grasp your chin, tipping it up towards her as her large thumb swipes across your lips and makes your cheeks flush. "I shall correct that immediately."
You're lifted from where you stand. Practically thrown onto the bed as your heart races. You find yourself pinned beneath her, one hand cradling your head, the other pressed into the bed by your side. Her lips linger near yours, a quiet request, and you can't help but appreciate she's ensuring you want this too.
When your lips meet, you can taste the thick wine upon her tongue when she licks into your mouth. You're kissed until your mouth is smeared with her lipstick, her lips trailing down your neck and her words filthy yet sweet in your ear. Claiming you, telling you to say her name- her rightful name, no pleasantries. To call for her, to let her know who you belong to.
Your legs end up yanked over the side of the bed, held apart and her face between your legs. It doesn't matter how much you squirm and beg, she won't let you cum until you're calling her name. Licking and kissing you raw, moaning into you about your divine taste, making you feel higher and higher with each orgasm.
By the end of it, you're covered in her lipstick and trembling head to toe. Watching her tidy herself up in her vanity with small dabs of her lipstick and her piercing gaze following the way you shudder and shake with your legs splayed still. "Any other foolish questions, my dear?"
"None, My Lady." You breathe in return.

I find it amusing all the “anons” weighing in about that meme re: the fandom dying. (This message will be my only response to those asks.)
The fandom IS dying.
It has been for the past year or more. But it’s definitely gotten worse in the last few months.
Creators of all levels have been leaving, especially lately.
I (and others) have been remarking about this long before some of the “famous” creators decided to leave or take hiatuses.
I’m not the only one who has noticed a significant drop in support/interaction/notes for all creators—from the “famous” ones to the smaller, less known ones.
I tag dive a lot to fill my queue, so I see more than just the people I follow, and I have noticed such a drop in content it’s hard for me to even fill my queue now unless I reblog old content or include things from other fandoms/interests.
Also, fame doesn’t equal talent.
And I would really appreciate if you would take your attitude disparaging smaller creators somewhere else.
This isn’t Hollywood, and everyone has to start somewhere. Plus, one of the great things about fandom is that people can produce and enjoy their specific niche content even if it diverges from canon. That won’t always be “popular,” but that isn’t what the goal is. It’s supposed to be having fun (with like-minded people).
A fandom can be perfectly wonderful with a small group of people who support each other. Even if none of them are “famous” in particular. You don’t need “big” names, as long as you have like-minded people excited about a piece of media enough to make and share content for it.
The problem right now is that lack of support is wearing, and pushing people away, especially when most aren’t that interested in the current Bard arc of the manga.
If you have something to say, you can say it off anon or imo you’re part of the problem.
~#~
1. This isn’t to say that there aren’t ANY supportive people in the fandom. Ofc there are. Some fantastic ones. And that’s why I’m still here, for one. But I still love Kuro more than anything else and I don’t want to see it crumble into dust. Especially when there’s so much amazing talent out there.
2. Also, I wanted to note here that I am working on a morale boosting “event” of sorts with someone else in the fandom. The goal won’t be to promote specific pieces or people, but rather to encourage fellowship and camaraderie. (If anyone has any genuine suggestions, or if you have things you would like to see improve/change in the fandom, feel free to leave them here or in my ask box. Anon is fine, if that makes you more comfortable, but things nice or it defeats the purpose.)

Author Q&A: searchforanotherway
Tumblr media
🖤 The MCU Dark Library encourages everyone to reblog and share the wonderful talents of this community, no matter how big or small your following is. Supporting each other is key to ensuring the longevity of this community. 🖤
Please be sure to reblog and share with your followers.
Tell us who you are!
@searchforanotherway
How long have you been writing fanfics? If the MCU wasn’t your first fandom, what was?
I published my first fanfic on FFN in 2015 for Naruto and RWBY. From there, I discovered a community of Overwatch writers on Tumblr by 2018 and began writing fanfic for Overwatch until I got into the marvel and started writing Avengers fanfic in 2019.
What helps motivate you to write? Where do you find inspiration?
If I am procrastinating and looking for motivation, usually I will go back and re-read some of my works to get the gears in my head thinking about future scenes and plot. I like to think of myself as a maladaptive daydreamer and visualize my story to help organize the plot. I also try to re-read some of my favorites from other writers as good inspiration to remind myself of the type of dark!fic and writing style I'm hoping to achieve.
If you could give new writers any advice, what would it be?
Read from your favorite fanfic authors and ANALYZE their work. I don't mean to say "be critical", but notice the things they do right! Or in better terms, notice the things you like about their writing. Some writers are talented at exposition or narration, detailed descriptions, setting the tone (especially for dark!fics) in their writing, paragraph formatting and grammar; understand all the writers that inspire you and adopt parts of their writing style that you like from all of them to help improve your own writing and create a unique style that you can appreciate.
The last advice I will give is a classic saying that I think all writers are well familiar with: "show, don't tell". It's something I'm still trying to get better at myself, but I do think that writing descriptively helps! And trying to balance that with some exposition and narration can make the difference in the pacing of your fic. There's a lot of resources online, so I suggest checking it out if your still confused! The internet is always available to help you with writing!
What is your favourite dark trope and/or kink? Why?
As much as I wouldn't mind listing off every trope and kink I love, I think I can sum them all up as any trope or kink that has disturbing intimacy. So breeding kinks and A/B/O's are a yes! Not so much other things like gun/knife kinks. Along that, any type of yandere trope that shows some sort of one-sided affection to the subject of said affections.
Share a few lines/paragraphs of one of your stories that truly sums up your style. Don’t forget to share a link to the story!
I will leave a lengthy snippet below from my Overwatch story, 'Hime'. It's currently still in progress and available to read on AO3. (https://archiveofourown.org/works/18539803/chapters/43942510)

“Don’t take me away from him! I’m not leaving!”
But no amount of strength you had could help you as Hanzo finally ripped you away from Genji.
“No! Nooo!” You beat your fists over the Shimada lord, but they did nothing while Hanzo quickly lifted you into his arms, carrying you like the bride you were supposed to be, walking the two of you away from the crowd.
You turned over to face them again, yelling louder, “Please! Someone save my husband, please!” You cried even harder watching all the shocked expressions from everyone. They all roamed closer to Genji’s dying body, but none of them made a move to help him.
You reached out for your love, and countless more tears washed down your face, but when the gates to the palace suddenly came into your vision, closing itself from the city, did you turn to Hanzo.
“Brother! W-where are you taking me?” Hanzo didn’t respond but instead continued to walk through the compound and up the stairs that led to the Shimada’s home. You struggled out of his grip, but Hanzo’s grasp was firm and unyielding. You cried out in pain when his hands held your body even tighter to his hot chest. The doors into the home opening as he led both of you inside. You continued to cry until he eventually led you to his room.
Hanzo released you then, placing you down on your feet only for you to try and bolt away from him a few seconds later. Hanzo quickly grabbed you by your forearm before you even reached the door, and pulled you further back into the room.
“Hanzo stop!” You yanked your arm, but he did not let go. “Stop Hanzo! Why are you doing this? Please! Genji is your brother! I am your sist—”
You couldn’t finish when Hanzo turned to you, more furious than you have ever seen a man before. “You are not my sister! You are my wife! And I will consummate this marriage tonight!”
What did he say?
His wife?... Consummate?
You screamed.
Is there a dark trait you like to interweave into your dark characters? Is there something in particular that draws you to this characteristic?
I enjoy dark!characters that have yandere and delusional characteristics, and I like to sum up the reason why as my intense fear and guilt to be in an actual irl relationship to which I use fanfics to create characters that would love the reader and be with her against her consent.
Which story did you struggle to complete? The one that made you drag your feet to finish.
I consider my story, 'Hunger' to be the most struggling to write. I initially wrote that just to let out my sexual frustrations, but a lot of feedback has been about the plot... That I've barely made outside of a few important events. With that, there's been some pressure to speed up the pacing. Also, fun fact: 'Hunger' was originally supposed to be an Overwatch fanfic.
Do you have a mutual who will hold your hand and support you when you’re doubting yourself? Do you have one who will truthfully and honestly help you grow as a writer?
@americasass81 has been there for me a lot when I've been at my worst doubting myself, and the sweetest part about it was that she reached out to me on her own accord usually after I post a rant. She is incredible and literally carrying this community on her back--we don't deserve her.
As for who helped me grow as a writer, I definitely confided with @darkdrabblings back when I first got into Overwatch fanfiction. We would throw each other headcanon ideas and all that, and she really did support me a lot. Since then, I don't really have a lot of conversations about my writing with other people.
Do you have a story that contains personal or important details from an experience that is your own?
My first story that I wrote on FFN, 'Nothing More, Nothing Less', was written when I was severely depressed, with a female protagonist that reflected me and my life. 'A Thousand Suns' is another one in which the protagonist's background would be similar to my own.
Check out @searchforanotherway masterlist here

Tumblr Etiquette Masterpost
Hi! Because I have (1) anxiety (2) been on tumblr for more than a decade, I have assumed the incredibly narcissistic position of making a post about how to interact with people on tumblr, since I think I’ve mastered the basic rules.
UPDATE: I started drafting this post a while ago. I'm not calling anyone out. I mostly made this because I realized I had a shocking number of followers who are new to tumblr.
In this post I’m covering Asks + Anons, Reblogging + Liking, Following, Tags, and ~Making Friends~.
TL;DR: tumblr etiquette is about social norms. These are the norms I have observed in my time here. You’re free to blog as you choose, but tumblr is a happier place when everybody is following the same guidelines.
Yes I use the words like “have to” or “rule” in this post. No, none of these are actual rules. Do what you want, but be prepared to face disgruntled users.
Let’s get started!
All About Following
Rule #1: You do not have to follow anybody you don’t want to. You do not need to let someone follow you if you don’t want to.
Tumblr is technically a social media site. If you want to grow your social circle, follow your mutuals’ mutuals. The internet is like real life. You do a Group Hang, and then eventually you get to the one-on-one friendship. (Please refer back to Rule #1)
Some of your mutual-in-laws might feel slighted if you follow everyone except them. That’s okay. (Please refer back to Rule #1) You might feel slighted if you’re the one not being followed. That’s okay. (Please refer back to Rule #1)
Tumblr is technically a social media site, but it’s also a place to see the content you like, not just the people you like. You can be friendly with people you don’t follow, or who don’t follow you. Some users are amazing people who just post the wrong content. That’s okay.
If someone posts content you don’t like, unfollow them. If you don’t like someone’s personality, unfollow them. Don’t be an asshole, don’t hate-follow, and don’t stress yourself out.
Asks, Anons, Messages
I tried to organize my thoughts into paragraphs. I really did. But talking to people on tumblr is messy if you do it wrong, and I’m just going to bullet-point some etiquette guidelines.
Rule #1: You do not have to answer any messages you don’t want to.
Your 500 word message should not be the first time a user sees your name
.....Before you get Venting Privileges, a user should recognize you from the tags you leave on their posts, or the comments you leave on their fic, or the other shorter messages you’ve sent them, or from being mutual-in-laws, literally whatever. But it’s Not Cool to dump things on people who don’t even know you.
The anon button should be used in two scenarios only:
.....1, to send a positive message. Not neutral! Positive message, the kind of message you send with heart emojis.
.....2, if you don’t want to admit personal information about yourself. The Venting Privileges Rule still applies even if you’re on anon (ie: you can’t vent! Because they don’t recognize your username!) and “personal information” does not include unpopular opinions. I’m talking messages like “Saw your post about living in Houston, and I agree!”
.....(Okay, three scenarios: if someone specifically asks for anons for an ask game or something!)
If you don’t want it posted publicly, don’t send it over an ask. Send it as a DM. You can always kindly request that the recipient doesn’t publish it, but typical tumblr etiquette is that asks get published by default.
Personally, if I follow someone back I like to introduce myself! Many of these conversations end after the “hi” stage, and I never force friendship upon someone. But many of these conversations also work as ice breakers, and make it easier to send the second message, and the third. Don’t worry that you’re being rude if you don’t do this—it’s also totally normal to just keep blogging as usual!—but it’s helpful in making friends.
If you reblog an ask game from someone, it’s just common courtesy to send them an ask of your own.
Tags, Blacklists
Rule #1: You do not need to use any tags you don’t want to.
(Are you sensing a theme? But this one gets a...)
But, be prepared to face disgruntled followers over this.
Tags are useful in so many ways. They’re a great place to organize posts so you can find them more easily later on! They’re a great place to show off your personality! They’re a great (and quiet! More on this later) place to show appreciation for content creators.
They’re also so incredibly helpful for your followers to avoid content they don’t want to see. If you’re delving into a new fandom and are about to reblog twenty posts in a row, tag it. If you’re liveblogging a movie, tag it. If your post (especially your photo posts) contains any common phobias or unpleasant things (gore, spiders, etc) tag it. And if one of your followers asks you to tag certain content, even if you don’t really understand why? Tag it, or else expect to lose that follower.*
*This isn’t about your follower count, btw. This is about being a decent person.
On the other hand, use blacklists and filtering liberally! If a user does tag their content, you have no right to complain about their posting it. Just filter it.
Reblogs, Likes, Comments
Tumblr is a blogging site. It functions on reblogged posts. That’s just how it works. This is not one of those sites where you scroll for hours clicking the like button.
Here are what likes are for:
Showing support for someone’s personal posts
Showing appreciation for someone’s tags
Admiring content that doesn’t exactly align with your blog (different fandom, inappropriate, whatever.)
Saving a post to find later
Showing double the love!
Here is where likes are most disappointing:
The original fic, artwork, or edits of your fellow tumblr users, especially in your fandom
(If you’re someone who regularly reblogs things, I’m not talking to you. You’re allowed to simply “like” posts. I’m talking to those users in my notifications that, day after day, like 35 of my posts and reblog exactly 1 of them.
Just reblog shit.)
Also, remember how I said you can quietly show appreciation in the tags? Only comment directly on a post if you are sure you’re adding something worthy to the post. If you’re just saying “haha me too!” or “I remember this!” just leave it in the tags. (Reminder! You can do what you want! It’s your blog and I’m not the police! I’m just teaching you etiquette! And the polite thing to do is to leave personal commentary in the tags!)
Let’s recap:
Aaaaand: Making Friends
Start small. Introduce yourself after you have mutually followed each other.
Leave nice things in people’s tags. They notice.
Send ask game messages.
Show off more of your personality. This isn’t a one way street!
.....You can do this by, well, reblogging things. Also by tagging things. Also by just making original posts.
Do not go zero to one hundred. You wouldn’t sit next to someone in class and start talking about your trauma (even if you heard that they share your own!). So don’t do it online.
Like people’s vent posts, and their asks, and their tag games. Reply to them, too.
Honestly? Do more tag games! If someone says “anyone can do this and say I tagged you” take them up on the offer! Tag other people you want to get to know more.
Last but not least, you do not owe anyone anything on tumblr, and no one owes you anything. Ignore the rude message. Block the annoying tag. Follow the users you like even if they don’t follow you back. Do not tell people to post more of X. Do not tell them to post less of Y. Do not ask them why they don’t follow you.
It’s so much easier to press the unfollow button than to be a dick.

Do you think fic writers should reblog and comment on other's fics? I see so many fic writers preaching this bit very few actually do it.
This is always an odd one. Because I can’t really talk for anyone but myself, so I can only really give you my perspective. But in a small fandom like the Ballum fandom for example, it can be quite disheartening when you don’t get many reblogs. Tags are super sketchy- will it show up in the tag or wont it? And because of that content creators rely on reblogs to spread their work.
I don’t follow every single person in the fandom- that’s unrealistic- and because of that I miss people’s work, unless of course it’s reblogged by someone I do follow.
Being a writer myself I try and reblog as many fics as I can, because I just think it’s nice to hype up my fellow writers, even if I don’t follow them for whatever reason (it’s never personal, it’s usually just content related.)
In terms of comments, I’ll always try and leave something in the tags. I’m a waffler, I like to waffle in my tags. And as a writer I also love it when people blurt shit in the tags about my work.
But if I’ve read something on ao3, yeah, I’m not going to lie and tell you I comment on every fic I read, because it’s simply not true. I have been making a point to comment on more fics recently though. Because speaking from experience, I know the absolutely joy I feel every time I get that ao3 email saying I have a new comment. Even if its a simple “🥺” emoji. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And I want that for more people.
I do think this fandom shows great support for each other, and I see a lot of support on my dash for other’s work. But I also do see your point that some people are more talk, and less action. I think as a whole we all need to make more of an effort (especially during these dry periods in canon) to REBLOG REBLOG REBLOG. That’s the key to getting more people to appreciate the work.
A simple ‘like’ just ain’t cutting anymore, folks. Just hit that reblog button.

Hey, I didn’t know whether to DM or what but I’ve been following you for some time now and I absolutely love your writing! I’m wanting to know, even though I like posts, submit an ask for blurb events or just submit an ask in general either as my profile or anon, that drawing too lol and I sometimes even share your writing with people I know. Is there any other way I can support you as a creator?❤️
oh my gosh this is such a lovely thing for you to ask and it really means a lot that you care about what i (and others) create that you want to help!! Also thank you for being patient and waiting for a reply - i wanted to wait until i was able to properly sit down and think about this one because theres a lot I could say. As it is this got kinda long and I really hope it makes sense. There’s probably more I could say but this gets at the main bits I think.
The TL;DR of it is that what you’re already doing is absolutely amazing but the biggest thing that will help creators is sharing their work!
And the rest of my thoughts are under the cut
So firstly, I just reblogged this post which talks about lurkers and I do agree with it to an extent! It isn’t always easy to comment or interact with someone’s post and like I love everyone who takes the time to click on anything I’ve written, even if they don’t tell me they clicked on it. Sometimes as a creator you can get caught up in how many notes your posts get but it’s important to remember that notes aren’t really That important. They’re a good way of measuring interest but theres probably people interested that you can’t see and that’s okay! So what you’re already doing is really so much more than I could ever ask for!!
But. I think it is also equally true that fandom content creators are struggling to be seen at the moment, especially regarding fics and especially in a fandom like the queen/borhap one which isn’t as big as it was 2 years ago after the movie was released. We are a relatively small fandom!! Certainly smaller than when I first joined. And the thing is, creators aren’t obligated to make things. They make things because they want to and they love it but it can be incredibly discouraging when it feels like no one cares. I write for you guys as much as I write for myself. If I just wrote for myself I wouldn’t bother editing and positing things, I’d just store them on my computer or maybe turn them into self published novels or something idk. And so I think supporting content creators (of all sorts, but im obviously speaking from a fic writer point of view) is incredibly important to keep this fandom going.
I think the biggest thing creators on tumblr struggle with is being seen. So the best way to help creators is to share their stuff! Likes are great for letting the OP know that you saw their stuff and liked it (or saved it for later), comments and requests and messages and all that are great for letting a creator know that you Enjoy what they make and want to see more of it or that you want to be friends with them and believe me i fucking adore getting asks and replies! It really makes my day when someone tells me they’re excited for something I’m working on or that they had an idea and think i’d do it justice (as long as they’re polite and not demanding about it) or just that they read something I wrote and it made them smile! But if we’re talking about helping content creators then there is one thing that helps above everythign else and that is sharing their work. Reblog it or link friends to it or whatever, just share it.
The tagging system on this website is finicky at best and that makes it difficult to get your fic seen by people who don’t follow you. The last two fics I posted didn’t show up in the tags i use and I cannot for the life of me work out why. I checked for ~inappropriate language~ in the tags and there was none, i didn’t link to outside websites, i did everything the exact same way as normal and it still didn’t work. Which means that I’m relying on the people that follow me and see the fic to pass it on to others. Not to brag but I have roughly 1700 followers (give or take some inactive/spam blogs). If every single one of them reblogged it and got 1 of their followers to see it then it would have reached 3400 people, or twice as many. Obviously that isn’t going to happen and it’s unrealistic to expect that. But by sharing a fic with one person you make a big difference! It means that one extra person saw it and had a chance to respond to it!
Now obviously not everyone feels comfortable reblogging fanfics, especially smutty rpf fanfics, on their main blog and thats totally fine! But if you make friends in the fandom and can say “hey did you see illfoandillfie’s latest fic” and link them then that’s really great! Or start an anonymous sideblog that you use solely for sharing fics you read! That’s how I started this blog! I’d been on tumblr for literally 10 years and I felt like my followers wouldn’t appreciate being inundated with rpf smut (especially when people i was friendly with were kinda anti rpf fics) so I started a sideblog to reblog fics I liked and post a few of my own!
From your message it sounds like you’re already doing a lot to try and help me as a creator and that is incredible! Don’t feel you have to do anything more than what you’re comfortable with. And I do want to acknowledge that, while this fandom has shrunk a bit, I do feel like it’s more interactive than before! My fics don’t get quite as many notes as they used to but I feel like more people comment on them and give me feedback and that is so unbelievably valuable!! I can’t stress how important every little thing is, anything that can let creators know you see them and see the time and effort they’re putting in.

Hi there 🌻 Hope you're having a nice day! Sorry to bother you with this but I'm new to self-shipping and I need advice: how do I get people to interact with my content (fic/art/etc)? I come from big-ish fandoms where I'm used to lots of interaction but my selfship fandom is much smaller to begin with, and s/i content seems to get less attention anyway. Thank you so much! 💛
Hello, my love!💜
I’ve been busy sorting out things before university starts again soon so I apologise for my lack of a timely response. Hopefully there is still something here which is relevant to you, darling, and I hope that you’re safe and well.❤ I just want to take a moment to say that you’re not bothering me with anything, angel. I’m always here for anyone as much as I’m able to be. I hope that I’m able to help you in even a small way, even if all I can do is to listen and to validate you. I’m so proud of you for reaching out to me!💚
First of all, congratulations on finding self-shipping!💖 I’m so sorry to hear that S/I content seems to get less attention.😔Sizeable fandoms are much easier to build up an audience in and I really do empathise with you, darling; I write for a small fandom on one of my sideblogs and it’s difficult to get content interaction.  I've done my best to think of as many things as I could to help with getting content interaction, which is applicable to self-shipping or general content creation.
how do I get people to interact with my content (fic/art/etc)?
First, and this might be the most obvious point on this list, use the tagging system. Especially for self-shipping, using unique tags can help you not only to organise things on your blog, but also so that people who follow those tags will see your content. By the same token, of course, anyone who doesn’t want to see that content can block that tag or avoid it all together. Having a clear organised tagging system on your block makes it easier to find things in the future, too!
Ask people for shout-outs. By this I mean, find the people who already have an established audience and send them an ask. Most people will happily publish your ask and give you a promo, but with this one, please check their blog guidelines, their DNI post and/or their Carrd to see if they’re okay to shout you out! If you’re unsure, it’s best to ask them before you submit the request for a shout-out. I would also be happy to shout-out your blog if you would like, darling, even if you’re not in my fandoms! Any kind of exposure on the ‘bigger’ blogs will help you to at least attract attention!
Ask people to reblog your work. Some self-ship blogs don’t like for their S/I or other content to be reblogged due to the sensitive and personal nature of self-shipping. If you are comfortable with this, however, then on each post you make, say something like reblogs welcome etc. so that people know it’s okay to reblog your content! Tumblr’s algorithm really does rely on reblogs, especially for content creators, so make it clear that you appreciate reblogs! Exposure through the reblog function will help you to build up an audience. Too many people treat this website like Instagram and it’s killing content creation.
Make sure to abide by Tumblr etiquette. If someone reblogs your S/I content, then be sure to swing by onto their blog if you have the time and reblog something of theirs if they’re okay with it, or leave a sweet comment if they’re not. It’s not only polite to reciprocate but it also helps you to build up a supportive network within the fandom, which increases your exposure and therefore helps you to build an audience over time. The self-shipping community is generally tightly knitted so being polite and sharing content all around will help you to gain an audience, too. It’s also really fun to gush over your own and others’ ships!
Be consistent. With your tags, with asking people to reblog, with the content itself... it can be really hard to establish an audience but consistency helps people to get an idea on what to expect from you and your content. The more reblogs you can generate, the more exposure you get, and the more you reciprocate those reblogs from other blogs the more people are likely to engage with your S/I content as they get to know you personally. Half the fun with self-shipping is gushing over your friends and their ships and finding a small group of blogs you can follow and gush with and hype up is a really good way to start to find and build an audience.
This is everything I can think of, my love, and I sincerely help that something here is useful to you. If you have any more questions or if you want to discuss this further, then please know that my inbox is open to you.💜🌻 Thank you so much for reaching out to me, I’m so proud of you and I’m sending you so much strength and love!💙

Hello, hello, please hear me out
Hi again to my followers, and to my new ones, I’m Miyo. *waves*
I wanna thank you for continuing to follow this blog even if it’s not as active as it used to be. This used to be my really small space for fangirling and I never thought that it’d even have an increase in follower count at all when I posted stuff here.
Right now, I’m still idle here and I just post updates to my art and fic works but I rarely join ask games anymore or reblog posts. I basically do not open it as much as I did and I do not engage with the people here anymore.
I’m really thankful for this space because I gained so many friends here! All I did was just fangirl about content and well be social with the small community that found my stuff interesting. It’s really fun! A lot of people found my content through my blog here too and my heart’s beyond thankful for all the support. You have no idea!
Unfortunately, one of the main reasons that I started going idle here is because of the influx of messages in my DMs and Inbox.
I’m super thankful to everyone who supports my works but sorry I don’t think I have the social battery to just reply to the messages that expect a lot of things from me. Aside from that, I’ve been getting tons of requests lately ^^; which uhmm unfortunately, I’m not taking.
Not to attack anyone who has sent me stuff. I appreciate you reaching out! But I just want to say that I don’t take requests and I’d be the first to tell you guys if I am accepting requests for certain works. (I took requests last September for a whole month and I still have like three more I haven’t responded to). The requests are easy to... ignore or brush off (sorry if that sounds mean). But what’s overwhelming really are messages of people who just uhm... slap their works at me and expect me to give it a thorough look.
They’ve been increasing despite my lack of activity and I never thought I’d even post something about it... but it’s been really draining to open messages that just really... “require” me to respond to them? If that makes sense.
I want my fandom life to be my breather and just a part of my life that I find to be fun. I guess I just want for people to be more considerate and not view me as just a content creator who’d fulfill all requests and/or a fandom member who absorbs all content and provides you feedback just cause I ship the same ship or just cause I make stuff for the same fandom. This, especially if we never even talked.
I’m sorry. I’m trying to phrase all these in a really nice way that isn’t upsetting. Because I don’t want the people who sent me stuff to feel bad at all especially those who didn’t mean any harm or weren’t being mean. I just feel like it’s important for people to not feel obliged... and unfortunately, most of the messages I’ve been receiving are... well, demanding. All I ask is for people to be more considerate of fandom peeps?
I hope this is the last time I’d speak of this. For now, I’ll continue to be idle here until I can finally breathe again. I hope the day won’t come that I’d have to close my Inbox because I really love talking in here.
One day, I’ll be back. Hopefully, soon.
Thanks!!

Dawn and Twilight’s Social Media Accounts
Tumblr media
Kuya
@NevermoreButSnore.
1230 followers.
Yes, I copied Edgar Allan Poe. Yes, I’m not sorry about the rhyme. Or calling him out.
Not that he really cares.
Insists that he is a headcanon creator on Twitter
Everyone who follows him knows that he is lying.
If we really had to classify him as a writer, it would one who posts those way-too-accurate posts about writers complaining about writing.
Like the notebook hoarding one. Not that anyone here in the fandom is guilty of that, haha... haha... ha.
Ironically is one of the more popular ones out of the whole group.
His flat responses and laziness are way too prominent to NOT be noticed.
If you actually tentatively sneak into his DMs though, for writing tips, he will patiently listen and... rather bluntly advise you.
It’s still advice though and is always the type to check out and reblog any short fanfics.
It just has to be weird, sporadic hours because he is the type to fall asleep with the phone on his face.
Koga Kitamikado
1230 followers.
@CapitalKayKay
Listen, there is a reason why a lot of successful businesses chose Instagram as their social media so Koga is no exception.
What makes his account stand out, as you can see from his rather cheeky username, is that he is willing to be an open book.
So he isn’t constantly shoving down any products he is sponsoring or whatever piece he is endorsing.
It’s more of genuinely wanting to hang out and explore what the world has to offer.
Whenever he posts a picture of the gang together, he’s the one tagging all of them, even the ones with hard usernames.
And there’s always a nice comment thanking whoever hosted the fun time or being appreciative of the area and the locals.
It helps that he has a sense of humour so the memes are always just the right amount of teasing but nothing too bad that will deter potential clients.
Because of his down-to-earth nature, he reels everyone in.
Uses the space to invite everyone following him on any celebration/casual outing.
The thing is... he has a lot of followers.
So... good luck.
Aoi
1150 followers.
@DeredArtTooTsun
Look, even he knows he is a Tsundere. It’s a small victory getting him to acknowledge that, let alone use it to brand himself here.
But god, he’s the man I’m most jealous of on Tumblr.
PERFECT BULLET JOURNALS AND SKETCHES.
Got the spreads that literally define ‘aesthetic’, a perfect lineup of art materials even with pencils that have their numbers faded, and somehow, the emotions can pass through the paper and screen.
Even does tutorials on perspectives, positions with cute annotations. Just don’t praise them for being adorable though and focus on improving your skills, dummy.
Ironically though, it’s his mindless vents that get the most number of notes.
It helps that the pics include him, a very cute... I mean... manly boy screaming at very, very hot men.
A bit baffled but whatever it takes to get commissions.
That’s right, he takes them. At least there is a back-up option should the restaurant ever go out of business.
Spoiler Alert: Still doesn’t get paid as much. People, have you seen the number of talented artists here? Aoi might be in the rankings but it’s still hard attracting business.
Support your fandom artists, everyone!
Ginnojo
1000 followers. Just nice.
Ginnojoz
Poor grandpa didn’t intend to put that extra ‘z’ letter, it was a typo because scales don’t get along with haptic touch.
And unfortunately, doesn’t understand how to change it.
Once, he was huge on Vine before it died. The end of an era that he has to witness again. RIP.
Gin-Gin, it is RIGHT. THERE.
Expect to find his super short self-defence videos and Book Club Readings on YouTube.
Girls actually appreciate his instructions and attempts to provide help even if they are alone.
He did try to respond to the nice ones and actually succeeds.
It’s always easier getting to know the language of women when you don’t really see/touch them.
A deep baritone is perfect for some sexy excerpt of a historical novel...
Until he corrects the setting.
In fact, he sometimes rage-quits and rewrites it.
Unlike Kuya, him doing those established ideas actually catches on.
Yura and Gaku
1500 followers.
MelodyandTheBeat.
... Tik-tokers. Tik-Tok people?
WTH do you call them?
As you can see, they are the most popular since it’s combined stardom.
Look, their covers and music mixes are beautiful.
They always have their own version that somehow combines traditional Japanese music... with k-pop.
And of course, food porn.
Just be grateful there isn’t that awful squelching sound you hear when you consume jelly or the breaking of chilli seeds.
Listen, I usually separate them because it’s never nice to be grouped as having the same activity as your twin.
But in this case, being both equally beautiful AND talented sells their uploads.
Even the cringy ones made because Yura is such a Luddite.
Like just turning his head and being amazed his hair can turn so many colours, being impressed with each tilt until he gets to a black shade.
Suddenly hurls the phone away. Gee, wonder why? Guess black isn’t the new... black for him?
Gaku sometimes even introduces new filters he created based on Yura’s random requests that strangely get circulated on the site.
Oji
550 followers all know Oji-Sanz
Unlike Ginnojo, he deliberately adds the ‘z’ letter to sound cool.
You wanna know what’s worse?
He actually uses Facebook.
Aoi decides to give up on him. Nobody blames the poor student.
It’s apparently some old form of social media? Never used it, no sirree.
Always changing his relationship status but at the end of the day, he’s single and ready...
To post about all the lovely ladies destined to enter his restaurant.
He thinks it’s great publicity.
It really isn’t but one good thing about Oji is he includes EVERYONE.
This man respects his customers and always helps advertise their wares, especially if their connections lead to more resources.
And less grocery shopping on his part.
Does post the recipes he and Aoi created but will never use because the Milk Hall had a certain style to follow.
Officially makes Aoi his son... on Facebook at least.
Aoi now tolerates the account.
Barely.
Toichiro Yuri
WhatheMeSay has 1231 followers!
In your face @CapitalKayKay and @NevermorebutSnore!!
You know, I’m so glad that there aren’t any users with those names because I’d be so scared of accidentally tagging them.
Also, geddit? Because... What the fox say?
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding... yeah, I’ll stop.
Pinterest Guy. And actually does spend on his ‘hobby’ to show off to everyone.
It does boost you and your father’s sales so there is nothing to complain about.
His boards are always alliterated just to sound super catchy and it works so long as he gets the right emoji.
Kabuki plays better be promoted or else.
Filled with candid pictures of his victims all taken at different angles you didn’t know were possible and in varying degrees of hilariously misunderstood positions.
He even supplies a donation link, heavily leveraged by his followers, since there are incentives tied to it like early access.
A bit suspicious the photos look like cropped out parts from Koga’s posts and some of the text resembles Kuya’s... er... wisdom?
He takes an unholy amount of selfies when he thinks no one is looking and so they are always surprised upon finding them on the Selfie Board.
There is a locked board that no one can access, even his followers who are his comrades in real life.
It’s actually just one picture in there.
It’s you smiling and giggling at a joke of his. Not even you know it’s been taken. Guess he is as soft as his fur, eh? He better come out soon or else.
Kuro
Kuroruohtumbling
Ginnojo is unfortunately just old enough to have grown up with Scooby-Doo to understand the reference.
Snapchat, like a snapping snake! Hiss!
Unironically loves the puppy face.
Ok, but the glimpses of his stunts help show snippets of the circus life.
He and his whole troupe family will even don costumes best suited for certain filters.
Sometimes ropes in Ginnojo... and by sometimes, I mean enough for everyone to start wondering if the stoic man is part of the act.
To be fair, he randomly hugs people and ranks them here.
You, of course, were number 1.
Now, if only he didn’t use the bloody song to announce it but you forgive him.
Maybe even risks revealing his ayakashi form before deleting the message to you.
Loves making international fans and learning various languages through each post, sort of like flashcards but animated and more fun!
And with 1200 followers, he might become a polyglot like Koga.
Shizuki
Everyone bans him from creating one.
Because they know the power of his roasts is too great.
Little do they know he goes undercover.
Underground.
And under their noses.
That’s right. His rant town on... MySpace.
Unapologetically uses a good chunk of his salary from serving the House of Yuri just to get nifty themes that help with the whole burning process.
Look, there’s a reason he and Oji are friends.
This is why.
Their taste in women seems fine but we really have got to do something about their affinity towards DEAD PLACES.
To be fair, he made the whole thing drunk but that doesn’t mean he should maintain it SOBER.
He just feels that it is a waste of space if he doesn’t utilize it.
And it also becomes kind of cathartic. From the intrusive hugs to his master and Sir Gaku irking each other to no end, he needs it.
Zero followers... but only because it’s super private.
It becomes 1 the moment you jokingly create an account.

just me thinking out loud about this fandom and this blog
first off, i’m not going anywhere any time soon. i need somewhere to scream about joe mazzello and this is my only safe space to do that. in the next two months i’ll be very busy with uni so i doubt i’ll be making a lot of stuff, but in general, i’m sticking right here.
It’s obvious to everyone that this fandom had its peak. Although I try to focus more on Joe’s entire catalogue and him as a person rather than exclusively Queen/Borhap, there’s no doubt that the majority of the notes were because of the Borhap fandom, which has died down significantly. (i don’t even want to think about how many notes i would have gotten if i had posted the gifset i did today 6 months ago) I don’t have a problem with that. I never intended this blog to gain as many followers as it has. I never intended to fall in love with Borhap/Joe the way I did. Notes were an unexpected surprise, especially on posts that have 3/4k notes.
It’s easy on this website to get addicted to the notes, to find self-validation in the posts. People like what I’m doing? That’s a new feeling. People actually want to come and talk to me? That’s certainly something I’m not used to. But something I’ve learned recently, or tried to tell myself, is that people don’t follow you because they like you. Well, maybe 10% or so, but most people follow for what you post. I post about Joe Mazzello. People follow me for Joe Mazzello.
Interest in my work specifically hasn’t died down, interest in Joe Mazzello has. The lack of notes isn’t a reflection of me or my work, it’s a reflection of general attitude toward BoRhap/whatever I’ve posted about. I’m sure if I jumped on the Good Omens/what’s popular rn idk train, I wouldn’t be worried about notes.
But I don’t want to do that. I’m here for the Mazzello long haul. I can’t imagine ever having so much inspiration from one person ever again. I’ve had so many celeb crushes (soooooo many), but never to this extent. Never have I made a whole blog dedicated to them. Never have I made gifs and edits about them. Never ever have I written fics about them. I wanna keep providing content because I’m sure there are people who love Joe as much as me, and to be honest, I love feeling creative and actually making something.
I’ve been in fandoms before, sure, but I sat there and reblogged. In particular, one fandom had these amazing creators who created so much, making gifs almost everyday, and each post would get around 70 notes. At the peak of our fandom, 70 notes was terrible. Even now, I’m pretty disappointed if a gifset that I worked hard on can’t reach 100 notes. It’s absolutely disheartening to see something I’ve worked hard on fail before my eyes. But I’m learning that it’s ok. I don’t make stuff for my followers, I make it for me. I fucking love making gifs of Joe. And getting positive attention from others is a bonus. However, I honestly think I would still make gifs of Joe is no one was around. I can look back at what I’m made and be proud. When I started this blog I’d never made a gif. That post today had 81 separate gifs in it. That’s some progress right there. It’s not about the notes, it’s about me being helplessly in love with this dude.
Tumblr is hell. I suffer badly from jealousy, a need for attention, and lack of validation. I know my followers don’t personally care about me. But I have friends and family that do. I have people in my life who love me because of who I am, not because I post about Joe Mazzello online. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate you who reblog my content. I love you if you reply, or come into my asks/inbox and chat. Having mutuals (who I never speak to but greatly admire from afar) is something I’ve never experienced before and it’s incredible. I have a lot of love for what this blog is. But I’m coming to terms with what’s it’s not.
It’s not a place to base my self validation on. It’s not a place where followers genuinely care about who I am. It’s not a place to spend all my time. I shouldn’t be constantly worried about how many notes I’m getting, or why my mutuals aren’t reblogging what I’m made. This should be something I do in my free time. This blog should be something I enjoy. And I’m almost at a place where I think it is that.
So I’m going to keep making content, because I love it. But I’m going to try and not worry about notes. I’m going to self reblog less. And when I do self reblog, it’ll be because I’ve been thinking about it, or I wanna talk in the tags about the post, instead of just trying to get more notes. I’m not going to worry about interaction. That comes and goes. I’m going to sit and patiently wait for Joe’s next project and support it no matter what. Maybe it’ll be a huge project, maybe it’ll bring in thousands of new fans the way Borhap did. Or maybe it’ll be a small indie project that other fans and I will cherish in our hearts. It doesn’t matter to me. What matters to me is that Joe’s happy. That’s all.

Note
so I saw your recent vent about your meme art vs serious art, and I went back through your blog and hearted the recent pieces that i had missed. I'm terrible about Reblogging because all of my followers already follow you, but I will do my best to fix that habit starting now. You're a really good artist, and it's a shame most people dont appreciate that
omg no no there’s no need to apologize, seriously! personally, i’m very thankful for the notes i receive on my art posts
it just upsets me bc i follow some fandom tags and i’ll see some extremely good art posts that are SERIOUSLY underappreciated in respect to their note count and then, a post that i put little time and effort into drawing has a considerable amount of notes without even really trying? like, that’s kinda messed up.
i’m not saying you can’t rb meme art, bc personally, meme art makes me laugh and i enjoy seeing it but it’s kind of upsetting when that’s the ONLY thing getting reblogged, y’know?
also, i’m not saying you HAVE to reblog my art or anything like that! i appreciate those who do but everyone controls their own blog’s content and i’m not going to force anyone to do anything. but it sure does help and motivate content creators when we see that people are actively supporting our work through reblogs as well! especially the one’s we work hard on versus the one’s that were drawn in under an hour.
i’m speaking from personal experience, so maybe this doesn’t apply to everyone, but when we see that our less dedicated projects are more loved than the others, it’s kind of discouraging and can lead young artists into drawing things they don’t really want to do and they can lose their love and drive to create things.
i went on hiatus multiple times during my art career because it became more of a task than something i enjoyed so i mean? while notes on content is good, what’s ALSO good is supporting things that the artist enjoys creating. while you may not personally be invested into EVERYTHING an artist may be into, if there’s something they do that you also enjoy, let ‘em know! small things like that really can go a long way
anyways i talked a lot in this so im wrapping it short but i hope this makes sense?? seriously though, there’s no need to apologize! i appreciate all the support i’ve received on my work and you contributed largely to that so thank you! :)
