Really wish people would let him go to dinner in peace. I know he's said you can stop him for autographs and photos when he's out and about, but he looks a bit exasperated when he gets out of the car. The man has his limits - let him have some time when he does not have to be "on".

On another note: his turtleneck! 😍 And is it custom-made with a Monaco flag on the back of the neck??

the slip up l lando norris x reader

request/summary – lando and reader are in a secret established relationship, until lando accidentally slips up on stream

author's notes – first piece of writing, feedback appreciated!!! this is just my thoughts written down honestly, i didn’t have much idea where i was going with it so enjoy.

Max was streaming with Lando at his place. Lando drags his feet over to the stream room, sitting on a chair next to Max. He was scrolling on his phone, trying to pass the time. 

“Mate, I’m gonna leave, you’re being so boring,” Lando joked under his breath as he ran a hand through his hair. 

“I’ll make things more interesting then. Chat, wanna know something really interesting about Lando?” Max asked with a mischievous smile as he looked back at Lando. Lando watched with suspicion of what max could say next. 

“Lando’s got a secret girlfriend,” Max sings to annoy Lando. Lando’s eyes shot up, his heart pounding as he turned off his phone, the same phone he was using to text you, his girlfriend. “I don’t, chat, don’t listen to him. He’s just trying to piss me off,” Lando says as he shoots Max a glare.

A few months later, everyone has chalked up that interaction to Max simply trying to annoy and rile up Lando, and no one thought much of it. On a miracle of a night in spring, Lando was in Monaco and decided to stream. He had a hoodie on, his hair all messy, but a smile on his face. About an hour into the stream, I knock on the door of his stream room quietly. Lando immediately turned off his video and mic, telling chat to give him a minute. 

I walk in, a black slip dress on with a cropped white cardigan, my hair and makeup done all fancy. “Hi, baby,” Lando says as he pulls me in by the waist, onto his lap. “Girls night tonight, right?” He says with a soft smile. He always makes sure to pay attention to anything I’ve mentioned to him, including my plans to hang out with Lily and Carmen tonight, Alex and George’s girlfriends. 

I hum in response. “Yeah, we’re gonna get dinner and then take some Instagram photos,” I say as I stand up from his lap, “you like the dress? It’s new.” I give him a little twirl to show off the dress. 

Lando smiles brightly. “I love it, baby, you look gorgeous. Like always,” he says as he leans in for a kiss. “Text me when you’re done and need me to pick you up, yeah?” I nod and smile. 

Once I leave, Lando puts his headset back on, turning his mic and camera back on. He scrunches up his face as he’s met by shouting from Max into his headset. “What’s your problem, man?” Lando asks with confusion. Max sighs. “Lando, you had your mic on the whole time. People heard that whole conversation and I was trying to tell you but as always, you ignored me,” Max says with some frustration in his voice, but mostly amusement. 

“Oh,” Lando says as he realizes what has happened. Not knowing what to do, Lando panics and ends stream. 

When my friends and I reach the restaurant, we find it pouring rain, which was the most of our worries since the restaurant was outdoor. With frowns, we all pile back into the car and drive ourselves home. I arrive home only twenty minutes after I left, my dress soaked. My brows furrow in confusion to see Lando on the couch on his phone when i come back, and not on stream. 

I slip off my shoes. “I thought you were streaming?” I ask softly as I make my way over to him. “What happened to you? You’re all soaked! Here, let me get you a towel and you can get dressed into some of my hoodie and sweats to get comfy,” Lando says, trying to avoid the fact that he had just live streamed his whole conversation with his girlfriend. 

I saw the panic in Lando’s eyes. “Stop,” I say as I stood in front of him, “what did you do?” Lando shoots me a bright grin. “I love you, babe. So so much. And you know I’d do anything for you.” This made me even more suspicious. “Lan,” I say as my eyes narrowed.

“Okay, okay. I might have forgotten to mute my mic when we were talking right before you left. I swear I thought I had turned it off!” He says as he panics before beginning to ramble. “And I called you baby, and gorgeous, and your voice was heard too. And Max was telling me the whole time through my headset, but it was off and even if it were on, you know I don’t think about anything else when I’m with you. And there were thousands of people on the stream and you specifically told me you wanted to keep it private because you didn’t want to get hate crimed by the fans and you wouldn’t be able to handle it and I mean, I wanted to but it just slipped and im so so sorry but-“ He stops in confusion when a giggle escapes my lips. “Why aren’t you upset?” He asks slowly.

I smile as I slip my arms around his neck, his hands instinctively wrapping around my waist. “Well. Number one, you’re cute when you panic. Number two, no one saw me, so it’s okay. I mean, considering how in love you are with me, they were bound to find out at some point that you had a girlfriend,” I tease with a smile tugging at my lips. 

He scoffs and rolls his eyes playfully at me. “Okay, yeah. I am absolutely in love with you. Still, you’re not bothered by this?” he asks slowly, hesitation lacing his voice.

“I promise I’m not. It was a mistake. Plus, that just means it’s gonna be all the more fun trying to watch them figure out who it is you’re dating,” I say playfully with a giggle. 

“That’s true,” Lando says softly with a hum, “I love you.”

“I love you too. Although, don’t make me have to have you on adult supervision every time you stream now to make sure nothing else slips out of your mouth,” I tease as I playfully poke his side. 

“Ah! Okay okay, promise,” he says with a giggle as he leans in for a gentle and loving kiss.

y/nupdates y/n left the monaco police station this morning accompanied by her lawyer, alex albon. alex is also a family friend and was contracted by red bull to help y/n with any legal issues that may arise. y/n and alex left on motorcycle shortly after she was released. when asked about recent events, y/n stated that she isn't worried and that she's in good hands (implied to be alex's)

everyone thinks that they know us, but they know nothing about…

this album has been such a rewarding piece to create and im so glad that soon enough you will all be able to listen and enjoy it with me! one thing i love in particular about this album is the song ‘dress’

dress was originally a piece i started to write when making reputation however i felt it was right to keep it to myself, to keep it between my partner and i for a little while longer. however recently our lives have been changing for the better, and while that lid of privacy will still be on, i want to share more with you guys

you have all been on this journey with me and you have treated my partner and i with the upmost respect and for that i thank you. for me dress is a letter, its statement, its a declaration of my love for him and im very grateful to be able to give this to you all

this song is one im very proud of, i really enjoyed writing this the first time, and getting to revist and polish it up felt very special to do.

When Y/N saw the Instagram notification, curiosity got the better of her. Just curiosity. She and Charles had been dating for almost six months, and this was the girl he had been with before her, so she simply wanted to know who she was. She scrolled through her posts, seeing the life she had after breaking up with Charles; she worked at a museum in Monaco and at the same time was an influencer.

Looking at her photos, she realized she was very beautiful. Very, very beautiful. Her hair was healthy, long, and a gorgeous dark brown, her body was perfect, the clothes fit her great, and she had a very sweet voice. She wondered why Charles had ended things with Alexandra.

Then, as she scrolled through her highlighted stories, she accidentally liked one. Y/N immediately threw her phone down. "Shit," she said, grimacing. "Shit, shit, shit." She picked up the phone again and saw the red heart on a photo of Alexandra in a bikini with a beautiful sunset in the background. Y/N stared at the photo for a moment and then removed the like.

She ran her hands over her face, feeling like an idiot. Alexandra would still see the notification, then she would see that Y/N had removed the like, and she would probably think she was weird. Or worse, she could message Charles, asking what his girlfriend was doing stalking her profile.

Charles was at the Grand Prix of Canada at that moment, she was in Monaco. The time difference was huge, and she wasn't going to bother him with this nonsense. So she decided to message Alexandra directly.

Y/N couldn't stop thinking about Alexandra for the rest of the day. She found herself a couple of times staring at her pictures, she knew that Alex lived in Monaco and that they could bump into each other anytime. That idea felt amazing. She seemed like a gorgeous person, and the little chit chat they had felt really comfortable, even when Alex was her boyfriend's ex.

Y/N didn't mention any of this to Charles, he probably just make a big deal of it and they would have a discussion. And she was too lazy to think about arguments.

So she wrote a song. For the nexts days she focused on the lyrics and when Y/N handed the papers to her producer, they loved it. As soon as they could they recorded the song.

When Charles came back from the race, he found Y/N staying after midnight in the studio so she could finish the song. And he didn't complaint, because he really thought the song was about him.

She didn't even think it was a bad idea until she saw her. They had decided to meet at a private club in Monaco; Alex wore a black satin dress that fit her extremely well, with her hair loose as she had seen so often in photos and a sparkling gaze. Y/N felt stupid for only wearing a white top and jeans.

"You showed up," Alexandra said with a smirk.

"You thought I wouldn't come?" she asked, matching her expression. Alexandra lowered her head, saying nothing and tucking her hair behind her ear. Y/N went to the bar and ordered a round of shots, although she didn't need to get drunk to do what she was about to do.

She drank one and then watched as Alexandra imitated her.

"Where did you leave Charles?" Alexandra asked, pulling her to a sofa area. The club wasn't very crowded, but more people would start arriving soon.

Y/N clicked her tongue. "Charles is the last person I want to talk about right now, honestly."

"You're right," Alexandra agreed as she nodded. "Let's talk about the song, then."

Y/N looked at her with a silly smile, trying very hard not to feel embarrassed. Although she knew she had nothing to be embarrassed about, she could see from Alex's expression that she had liked the song.

"What did you think?" she asked, sipping her cocktail.

"I loved it. I never thought someone would write songs about me," she lowered her gaze a little and then Y/N noticed how she had the tip of her heel circling around her foot.

"Did Charles ever dedicate any of his piano songs to you?" Y/N asked, furrowing her brow a little.

"Charles never even dedicated time to me," Alexandra looked away a bit.

Y/N nodded, perfectly understanding what Alexandra was talking about. Charles was too focused on his career, and unless you asked him, he could completely ignore you for weeks or change plans you had been planning for months because he had to train. That was the kind of person Charles was. At first, it had been a dream, accompanying him to his races and spending time with him, but when you scheduled a tour to be able to attend most of his races and he didn't show up at almost any of your concerts… It affected you.

"Men," Y/N said simply, rolling her eyes.

"Exactly! They're unbelievable, in the worst sense of the word," Alex spoke, slightly laughing.

They fell silent for a few moments, not breaking eye contact. The music had been turned up, and they were bathed in purple and green lights, moving around the room. Alexandra almost glowed for Y/N's eyes; under that lighting, everything seemed unreal. She leaned toward her, but didn't make the final move, wanting Alex to take that step.

Alexandra smiled mischievously and pressed their lips together. It was a calm kiss, not too long but their lips touched enough to explore them calmly, and for Y/N to remember the slight scent of red licorice from Alex's cologne.

As they separated, Alexandra got as close as possible to Y/N, resting her head on her shoulder. "Are you drunk?" Y/N questioned, fearing for a moment that it was all an act of alcohol.

"No," she denied vehemently.

Y/N didn't think much more about it, discreetly grabbed her phone to text Charles that it was best for them to end their relationship. She and Alexandra kissed a couple more times that night.

It is has not been uncommon to hear that our beloved idol Y/N has been attending the F1 Grand Prix's when she can. She has been open about her interest and love for the sport that had started since she was young and living in Australia, much thanks to her mother. For the past months, she has attended the Australia, Monaco and Barcelona Grand Prix. At the Monaco GP, her closest friends and group members of BLACKPINK Jennie and Lisa attended with her, Jisoo was unable to join them due to the flu. Her go-to team is Mclaren as she is often seen in their garage and actively chatting with driver Lando Norris.

Into this newfound friendship...or possibly more? The driver Lando Norris has been leaving friendly comments since her first attendance in awhile at the Australian GP but he has grown more confident and so has she. Just recently for the Barcelona GP, Y/N and Lando Norris were spotted hanging out outside the tracks with a small group of friends as seen in PHOTO TWO. The lucky fans that spotted and snapped a picture has commented that, "they both looked very friendly with each other [...] Lando kept looking at her with heart eyes almost [...] both of them left together while the others stayed".

These new speculations on their "friendship" had only gotten much more active after Lando Norris posted to his alternative instagram account based on his interest of photography and PHOTO THREE was posted in the photo dump of his race weekend in Barcelona. Fans of both Y/N's and F1 pointed out the hair and the similar hand and jacket in the photo--our dear Y/N. There are also speculations that this was NOT the same day as the hangout of friends, rather a different day...and perhaps a different kind of date 😉

Let's not forget the suspicious comments her closest friend Jennie has left on her instagram especially after the comment from Mclaren, "You have amazing taste"...to which Ms Jennie Kim replied in korean, "It goes both ways 😗". Fans believe Jennie might been insinuating that a certain driver (Norris) and Y/N have good taste...or should we say, interest within each other?

Though, so far, not much has been found if this is a beginning of the soft launch of their relationship or simply a flirtatious and playful friendship between the very two different yet similar people. Let's just look forward to Y/N's upcoming project and for the F1 fans, enjoy the week break!

“Oh my god, we’re almost there!” Jen says excitedly as you reach the many people behind barriers near the entrance

“A lot of these people are here for you,” says the driver as he looks at you through the car mirror

“Really?” you turn to him in shock with your eyes wide

He nods as he continues to drive but, he opens your window and to your surprise, he is very much correct.

As soon as your window is down, screams and flashes from the outside flood the inside of the car. You wave at the people as they yell flattering and sweet messages your way. You see many people with your newest album in your hands and with gifts ready to give to you. You quickly bring your phone out to record these moments, you never thought you’d have supporters in Monaco.

Once you reach the paddock entrance you take one last deep breath and step out of the car. You’re quickly greeted by an F1 representative, a bodyguard, and a few more people. You try and listen to what the people are trying to say but the fans quickly drown them out.

“I think we should go say hi to them before we head inside,” says the rep as she turns to look at the fans behind the barriers

You head towards the fans with a smile and wonder who you should greet first. The most noticeable one is a girl with a Ferrari hat right in the middle, so you head towards her first.

“Oh my god, Hi!” she yells and hands you a model Ferrari racecar

“Hi, how are you? Are you sure you want me to sign this, it’s the smooth operator’s car as well?” you giggle at her

“Yes, yes! Please! Are you a Ferrari fan?” she asks as she looks to your face for an answer

“A die-hard Tifosi,” you say with a smile as you hand her the car and pen back

You realize the surrounding people heard what you had just said when there are sudden screams and even more phones pointed your way. The girl takes her phone out for a photo and you grab it and take the picture before moving on to the next people.

“Forza Ferrari!” says the guy as he hands you your album

“Forza Ferrari!” you reciprocate as you grab the album and pen

“What’s your name? How are you liking it?” you ask him as you look from the album to him

“Giovanni! I love it, my girlfriend showed it to me actually. This is for her, her name is Rosie!” he says excitedly

“I’m glad, thank you for listening! Tell Rosie I said Hi!” you say handing it back and taking a quick picture

“No, thank you! Welcome to Monaco!” he says

You smile at him as a way to say thanks, you move on to the next person holding out a bracelet for you. You gladly hold out your hand and the girl happily puts it on your wrist.

“Hello! Thanks, what does it say?” you ask the girl as you notice two chili charms on the white, red, and gold bracelet

“It’s the only Ferrari bracelet I had left, I heard you’re a Tifosi. Carlos took the one I had made for you” she says quickly and apologetically

“It’s okay, I’m gonna have to find him in there and make him trade,” you tell her as you giggle and look towards the paddock

“Oh my god, please record it if you do,” she says pleadingly

“I’ll see what I can do,” you say smiling at her

You quickly grab a picture with her and move down the line. That’s how it went for a couple of minutes, signing different items, taking selfies and videos, and receiving gifts. You wish you could stay with them forever, the Monegasque fans were some of the sweetest people you had met in Monaco. However, your interactions were cut short when you were told your time was up and you were ushered towards the paddock entrance. So, you turned around and gave them a wave goodbye and shouted grateful thank you’s to them. You left with an even bigger smile on your face as you heard your farewell being reciprocated.

“Ok, so here's your pass, just scan it on the machine and you should be good to go,” the woman says as she hands the passes to Jen and you

You both put them around your neck as you step up to the gates, you scan it as you're told, and sure enough; you're in. Once you step inside, you stop for a second and just look around, trying to take it all in; you used to dream of this.

“Welcome to F1! I’m just gonna give you guys a short tour of the paddock first. I heard you're a Tifosi so, we’ll be headed to their garage first. Feel free to ask any questions along the way.” the woman says happily

After a quick but thorough tour, you and your team ended up at the Ferrari garage. Buzzing with engineers coming in and out, and listening to your guide; you were pretty shocked when two tall men all clad in red made their way to you.

You could feel your heartbeat get stronger and faster, you started fidgeting with anything your fingers could touch, and you could feel the corners of your lips pull up. But not because you were happy, you were ecstatic actually but, you tend to smile when you get nervous.

“Charles, Carlos, this is Y/N Y/L/N. Y/N, this is Carlos and Charles. I’m sure you don’t need any further introductions.” says the guide looking from you to them and them to you, you all exchange small hellos before you go in for a physical greeting.

You start with Charles who's on your left, you go in for a quick hug and he goes for a kiss on each of your cheeks; the Monegasque way of course; you gladly reciprocate.

“Carlos,” you say softly before going in for a hug with him, considering both of your Hispanic backgrounds; you both go in for a kiss on each other's cheek.

You pull back just in time to hear Charles excitedly say, “Welcome to my home, Monaco!”

“Thank you! It’s so beautiful here, I already miss it,” you tell him truthfully

“So beautiful, have you taken a look around?” he asks curiously

“At Monaco, no not yet, we just landed last night. We’ve just seen what we could on the car ride here” you answer sadly

“We’ll have to take you around then, there’s so much to see”, Carlos says joining the conversation

“Yeah, that’d be great, a tour from the experts, I’m so lucky”, you say carefully not wanting to start anything, as much as you want to answer more freely, you have to remember the cameras recording your every interaction.

“Of course, I always love showing people around, maybe I should switch careers to a tour guide”, Charles jokes and you all laugh

“So, I heard you are a Tifosi?”, asks Carlos placing his hands on his hips

“Loud and proud”, you answer him

“Where’s your Ferrari gear then?” asks Charles pointing to your blank canvas of an outfit

You feel Carlos’ gaze fixed on you, eyeing you up and down. You suddenly feel nervous when you realize his current attire. His Ferrari red race suit was undone and hanging loosely on his hips and his fireproof clinging tightly onto his upper body. His messy dark brown hair, big brown eyes, and stubbled jaw. You had always known Carlos to be a good-looking guy but in real life, the man was gorgeous.

“Umm, I’m saving that for race day! Save the best for last, you know!” you say trying to collect yourself and looking back and forth between the two

“You better” Carlos points to you while Charles nods in agreement

“I hate to break this conversation up but, we have to hurry and take pictures before Y/N heads off to McLaren”, interjects your guide

“What? I thought we were doing the hot lap with her”, questions Charles while Carlos scrunches his eyebrows in confusion

“McLarens hosting today, you guys have her the whole day on Sunday! But, considering you guys are her favorite team, we thought we’d bring her to you first” the guide corrects

“Well, that’s even better; I think,” Carlos says as he sways on his hips looking at you and Charles. You could’ve sworn you saw a wink, there’s a glint of something in his eyes you can’t put your finger on. Is he flirting with you? It’s probably all in your head, so you choose to ignore it.

As you’re about to go in between the Ferrari boys for a picture you see a handful of things handed to them.

“So, this is kind of embarrassing but I’m actually a really big fan of your music and I was wondering if you could sign my cd’s?” Charles says shyly as he hands you all of your albums. Never in a million years would you think the Charles Leclerc was listening to your music.

“Of course Charles! I’m so flattered, thank you!” you sign and hand them back. As you look up you see Carlos hand you the movie poster for the first movie you were ever in.

“I’m a big fan too, but I was wondering if you could sign this for my sister. She’s a really big fan, I swear she watches this movie like every week” he chuckles

“Wow, tell her I said hi and thank you,” you say as you sign the poster and write a thankful message on it. You hand it back and look back up at the boys who are both giddily smiling down at you

“We also have a couple of things for you, from us. And we heard that your dad was the one that got you into Formula 1, so we have some stuff for him as well!” Charles hands you a red Ferrari bag with signed hats from both of them to your dad and shirts for both of you.

They hand you their hats, signed and each with a sweet message written on the cap. You sincerely thank both the boys while you look at the hats, noticing Carlos’ chili underneath his. You smile at it and look back up to them.

“The problem here is, whose hat will you wear on Sunday?” Charles asks as he raises his eyebrows

“Mine of course,” Carlos says teasingly as he looks from Charles to you

“Hmm, depends on who does better in quali; just kidding,” you say giggling as you look between the boys. They both smile at you and giggle back.

Your guide then puts her hand out to lead you in between them for a picture. You settle yourself snugly in between them and decide to put one hand on the middle of their backs. You expectedly feel Charles lightly place his hand on your upper back near your left shoulder. But, you feel Carlos place his hand confidently on your lower back. Your cheeks betray you as they go Ferrari red at the weight of his hand. You try to ignore the feeling it gives you as your brain begins to give you logical explanations for his boldness. He probably just had nowhere else to put it; right? But then you begin to feel him creep down until he’s ear level with you.

“For you, I’ll win” he stands straight up again but you can still feel the ghost of his breath on your ear. You choose not to say anything, instead, you move your thumb up and down a bit on his back. Hoping he acknowledges your gesture as a response, and you know he does when you feel him do the same to you. You're surprised to feel fluttering in your stomach.

Lando’s POV

“Is she actually coming?” asks Lando as he rubs his face pacing around the McLaren garage

“She’s probably right around the corner. She got here a little after I did, there were loads of people here for her,” says Oscar as he takes a sip of water and goes to stand next to Lando

Suddenly the sounds of footsteps and voices course throughout the garage. A telltale sign that you were nearby. The McLaren team scrambles to set up their cameras and ready the boys for your meeting.

“Ready guys!” says a manager as they start their video cameras

“Nope, not at all,” Lando says quickly and quietly hoping the cameras don’t pick it up but Oscar does. Oscar giggles and soon enough Lando breaks into a big laugh that he’s known so well for.

“Hi Y/N, welcome, welcome, come on in!” says the team. Lando and Oscar are both caught off guard as they were both still laughing when Y/N walks in; safe to say they were both flustered.

Oscar quickly collects himself and walks forward to greet Y/N but Lando. Lando stood in shock for a few seconds before a manager gave him a quick nudge encouraging him to walk forward.

Y/N POV

Walking into the McLaren garage you can already feel the difference in ambience. Compared to Ferrari’s serious attitude, McLaren felt a lot more laid back; it settled your nerves. As you scan the room you see engineers, managers, and a film crew. Until they move aside and Oscar walks forward to greet you.

“Hello, nice to meet you!” he goes in for a handshake and offers you a smile but quickly pulls back. The younger boy seems reserved, quite a lot like yourself. You smile back at him as you notice Lando slowly walking towards you. You can already feel his shyness and nervousness, definitely not the Lando you expected. But, you too begin to feel nervous as you feel the butterflies in your stomach.

“Lando, nice to meet you!” you say extending your right arm to him, you’re too shy to go in for a hug.

“Very nice to meet you too, wow you know my name!” he says with a sudden hint of confidence in his voice. As cliche as it sounds, you felt sparks when your hands met but you narrowed it down to the fact you had a crush on him and nothing more.

“Of course I do, I mean you’re only my second favorite team,” you say and quickly question whether you should have said that or not.

“Second?!” Oscar and Carlos question at the same time

“Who's your favorite team then?” asks a McLaren team member

“Ferrari,” you say shyly, looking at the ground. Why did you even bring that up you thought, especially in the McLaren garage.

“Of course, me too,” says Lando, he laughs and then everybody else follows. You're thankful for his wittiness and everybody’s reaction. You work up the courage to look up at him and smile when you see him already looking at you and his toothy smile

The McLaren boys and you begin to exchange gifts like you did with Ferrari, there was nothing too special about the interaction until Oscar speaks up. As you handed both of them your album, Oscar grew a mischievous smile on his face.

“Ohh, Lando’s gonna sleep with that at night, that’s all he listens to,” he says as he looks to Lando to try and see his reaction. He grows prideful as the rest of the garage laugh with him and his teasing. You're surprised to see this side of Oscar, something you wished McLaren showed more of.

“So I’ve heard” Now it’s your turn to feel mischievous and tease Lando. You look up to Lando with a sly smile as you finish signing his album.

Lando’s eyes widen as he doesn’t know what to say but his body betrays him. His cheeks and ears redden and he’s trying to look anywhere but at you.

“Seriously mate, my own teammate has betrayed me; can you believe it?” Lando looks at Oscar, smiling but out of embarrassment. You three stand like shy schoolchildren for a couple of seconds until your guide comes up to you.

“I really hate to break up this bonding but, it’s time for the hot lap!” says the guide teasingly as she looks between you guys. She explains that only one of the boys can do it and looks to them for a decision; which you are thankful for.

“I’ll gladly give that to Lando,” Oscar says suggestively as he teasingly pushes Lando towards you. Lando shakes his head at Oscar’s antics but walks towards you with a blushing smile.

“Ok, let's do this!” Lando claps his hands as he walks towards where the garage meets the paddock and you gladly follow him. You guys stand there for a couple of short minutes as you wait for the car to arrive. You're both given safety instructions and the typical rundown of how a hot lap works, but really it’s for you and Lando just happened to be there.

“Are we really your second favorite?” Lando asks breaking the silence, there’s a doubtful feeling in his question

“Mhm, why, you don’t believe me?” you nod at him confirming your stance

“No, I do. It’s just kinda hard to believe I mean, you’re you and we’re us” he says

“You know what’s also hard to believe, you having me as your phone background” You’re speaking before you can speak, and you mentally curse yourself. You have no idea where this confidence is coming from; you hope it doesn’t get you in trouble.

Lando quickly turns his head towards you, to the point you think he might’ve hurt himself. His mouth moves as he tries to think of what to say but all that comes out is a smile.

“What the, h-how did you know that?'' he interrogates you as a blush creeps onto his cheeks.

“That’s for me to know and you, to never find out,” you say giggling at his confusion, he continues to look at you looking for a hint of an answer

“From an old interview, a Q&A with you and Oscar,” you say giving in

“Ohh, so you're spying on me, that’s cheeky you know. I’m starting to think you fancy me?” he says the last part while pointing from you to him. Your newfound confidence is passed from you to him as he places his hands on his hips. He’s turned the tables on you and you feel like a deer caught in headlights.

“No, no, that’s not what that means,” you say quickly, not having the words to defend yourself

“Ugh, as if, it’s not like you had a huge crush on him too!” you hear Jen say from behind you both, you had forgotten she was even there

“Oh so, fuck me then!” you say playfully throwing your hands up and surrendering to their truthful accusations. You hear Lando crack up, the laugh you had known only through a screen. It’s safe to say it still had the same effect on you, you couldn’t help but giggle at his reaction. Jen’s laughing too, not at you but with you; you can tell she’s proud of herself once you look at her. You know that look of hers all too well, she’s trying to play matchmaker.

As you are all still laughing, an engineer approaches with two helmets. He extends them out to each of you, “Lando, will you help her please” says the engineer as you take yours. Lando then puts his helmet down and takes yours from your hands.

“Look down a bit” You follow his instructions as you feel him carefully place the helmut on your head.

“Ok, now look up” You look up at him, you can’t see his mouth but you can tell he’s smiling by the crinkles near his eyes

“Hi,” he says quietly once he meets your eyes, and so that only you could hear. You smile back at him once you feel his fingers graze your face as he buckles the straps. For a short moment, both your eyes continue to look at each other, his fingers still under your chin; unmoving. The interaction feels intimate, maybe too intimate for your first meeting. But, it’s a very pleasant feeling, one that you hope you feel more of and you can’t help but hope he feels the same way. Your interaction is cut short once the car arrives but the feeling in your stomach doesn’t falter.

As you walk towards the passenger side of the car, you feel Lando’s presence behind you. You go to grab the door handle but Lando beats you to it. He opens it while smiling at you and extends his other hand to lead you inside. Your cheeks begin to blush again, your cheeks are for sure going to hurt once you’re done with all of this.

“What a gentleman!” says a surprised engineer as they watch you both. Not that Lando isn’t chivalrous but, they had just never really seen this side of him. He gives them a toothy smile back as he almost skips his way back to the driver's side.

“You ready? Nervous?” he asks after multiple engineers come to check that you both are safe to go

“A little bit, but I trust you. Let's do it!” you reassure him, once he takes a look at you to make sure, he puts the car in drive and you’re off

The drive was going really well, up until Lando brakes a little bit too late at a curve. The car begins to drift and lifts the slightest bit on your side. Your eyes go wide and you go to lift your hand to the grab handle. But, Lando’s arm quickly extends over you pushing you back into the seat, your reflexes go to grab at his forearm and you both stay that way until the car reaches a straight again.

The drive ends relatively fast as it’s only one lap around the track. Once Lando puts the car in park, he turns to look at you and begins to apologize. He looks quite embarrassed and all you could do was reassure him that it was okay because you were both unharmed. Once you are both out of the car, you are led back into the garage. As you are both taking your helmets off, you are asked how it went. Before you could respond, Lando beat you to it.

“I braked too late, it could've gone really bad,” he says smiling but you could tell it was just to cover his guilt. Before he could say anything else, you quickly jump in

“But it didn’t” you reassure him by placing your hand on his arm

“I thought it was really fun, I’d do it again and again” you continue, trying to bring his confidence back up

“I know, it’s just, kind of embarrassing” he rakes his hand through his curls as a way to distract himself

“It’s not, it happens to the best of us” You look at him smiling hoping the message sticks, he manages to give you a small smile back

…

Jen and you are now back at McLaren's hospitality, eating some lunch and just talking about the day with each other and with anybody who cared to join. You hear a knock at the door and it opens to reveal Carlos. McLaren welcomes their past driver with very open arms and it makes you smile, at how loved he is.

“Lando’s not here right now,” they say to him as Lando is currently still out finishing interviews.

“I’m actually not here for him” Carlos responds

“Oh, what are you here for then?” they question back as everybody looks at Carlos confused. Carlos raises his hand and points it to you smiling, you tilt your head in surprise. Jen is rarely caught off guard and even she looks up from her phone.

“Well, I’ll leave you to it then,” the man says as he pats Carlos on the back and walks out giving you two some privacy. Most of the other people also leave the room but Jen, she simply moves to the corner of the room. She shoots you a teaseful look as she settles into the couch and “focuses” on her phone.

“Hola! You speak Spanish right?” he says as he pulls out the seat across from you.

“Si! Es mi primer lenguaje.” (Yes! It’s my first language.) All of a sudden you felt such a comfort within him, you hadn’t been able to speak your mother tongue in what felt like months. Carlos breathes a sigh of relief as his hand comes up to meet his chest.

“No sabes lo feliz que me hace saber eso.” (You don’t know how happy it makes me to know that) 

“Eres mi casita lejos de mi casa” (You are my home away from home) he tilts his head and gives you a sweet smile. Now it’s your turn to grab at your heart, he really is working those puppy dog eyes of his. But then you have a quick realization.

“Espera?” you look to the side and bring your finger up as you think of his contradiction. He cranes his neck at you and drops his smile confused at what you’re about to say. “Y Checo y Fernando?” (And Checo and Fernando?)

“Me espantastes” (You scared me) he laughs nervously and drops his shoulders in relief. “No se comparan, eres diferente” (They don’t compare, you’re different) his face wears a cheeky smile as he waves his hand in front of him

“Diferente? Carlos, we met like, 5 hours ago!” (Different?) You giggle at him and his forward flirting.

“Y que tiene, yo siento que ya te conosco muy bien. But, if you feel like I don’t, you can go out with me later tonight so I can get to know you better.” (And what about it, I feel like I already know you very well)”

This is a confident man, bold, it took you completely by surprise. You didn’t realize you were just sitting there until you saw Jen from behind him mouthing “Say yes!” You forgot she was there listening to the whole conversation and now you were flustered.

“Smooth, real smooth.” you wished you had something better or cooler to say but, the man seemed to take every thought from your head.

“There's a reason why they call me Smooth Operator” he chuckles looking very pleased and proud of himself. “So, what do you say?”

“Oh my god Carlos!” you slap your forehead laughing at his wittiness, the man has jokes. And he knows it too as he laughs with you. “But yeah, sounds like a plan” If this is a small preview he’s giving you, you couldn’t wait to see what later tonight would look like.

“Ok, I have to go now but, give me your number please so I can text you the plan for later,” he says while looking at the clock behind you and taking his phone out of his pocket. He unlocks it and slides it across the table to you. You type in your number and hand it back not wanting the job of naming your own contact; you’ll leave that for him to decide.

Seconds later you feel your own phone vibrate, he’s texted you a 🌶. Of course, you giggle and decide to name his contact exactly that. You look up to him once you hear him stand up and find him already looking at you. You too stand up once you see him smiling and walking towards you. You go in for another side hug like the one from earlier but, you're surprised when he goes in for a normal one.

“See you later” he pulls away and walks towards the door. “Ciao” he waves at both you and Jen as he walks out.

“Wow,” you hear Jen say before you can say anything.

“Wow,” you turn to look at her, letting her know you share the same feelings.

The night couldn't come any slower and you're left with a buzzing in your stomach. The night will definitely be a memorable one and you couldn’t wait.

I think the Daniel fans reactions towards others It was because they often saw people talking nonsense about Daniel. You may be able to overlook it. But other people aren't. Some people just want to defend him for something he didn't do or provide accurate information. I'm glad you were able to ignore all this noise. But you have to understand that some people can't do it like you or anyone else. It's not a bad thing to be stuck with past successes. Because at this point, he may have failed or be rebuilding himself. Those successes still haven't disappeared. And everyone has a right to talk about it. The fact that he has a seat now doesn't make people forget about their feelings in 2022, so some are expecting him to be even better.So that we will see him compete for a long time. The pain we will face in 2022 when he is fired. The loss of that seat is still evident. I think it's hard for some people to ignore what people say about Daniel. Because most of the time, it's not true. And they couldn't bear to ignore them.

I think it depends on the experience you want. I’m happier when I think positively about daniel and so that’s the experience I seek online. I personally don’t feel the need to fight his battles online because I think you will never change people’s minds towards drivers by providing them with facts and figures because internet mentality isn’t derivative of that at all. BUT I get why people do and if that’s what people want to do, they are more than welcome to and I’m not hindering anyone from doing that by sharing my opinion on that. I personally would find that exhausting and negative for my own mentality, I’m much happier looking at my pretty photos and my fun gifs and writing deranged tags about him 😌😌😌😌

and I’m allllll for celebrating Daniel’s past wins, that’s a part of what makes him, him, and I love them and adore them. I’m enthralled by the videos red bull are sharing of his Monaco win. No one’s saying you can’t look back on the past. The danger comes from wishing for the past to repeat itself and be once more. even if daniel is to make it back to red bull one day (🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼) it will not be the same as the last time, and I think that’s FUN. I think it’s great to be in an era where daniel is rebuilding and growing once more, and for me, that is how I frame this current Daniel period. You are free and welcome to perceive and enjoy and support Daniel however you want, as am I. and at this point, I really don’t think he’s failed.

F1: Fan of Senna and Interlagos, Leclerc seeks to change writing in Brazil

At first glance, Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc and Brazil don't have much in common. But not quite. The Ferrari driver may not have very impressive results in São Paulo - perhaps his best weekend was the first, when he was seventh in Alfa Romeo - and he comes from a very different country. But he is one of the drivers who most enjoy coming to the country.

The reasons are several. Starting with the circuit. "It's something I can't explain why, but when I was young, I always chose to race at Interlagos on the PlayStation when I played with my brothers. I love the curbs and the fluidity of the circuit."

Leclerc also always said he was a fan of Ayrton Senna.He was born almost three and a half years after the three-time champion passed away, but he watched recordings of his races encouraged by his father, a big fan of the driver who to this day holds the record for victories in Monaco

"There are several reasons why I'm a fan of his. His pace, his overtaking, how brave he was. There was something very special about him. Of course he was special in the car, it's obvious to see. But there was also something very special about him outside the car, a kind of aura."

And the third reason, but no less important, is the fans. Everyone around Leclerc says they are impressed by the joy with which he responds to everyone who asks for a photo or an autograph. When he arrived at Ferrari in 2019, many in the paddock believed he would change. But that didn't happen.

And, in Brazil, he already realized from the crowd that welcomed him at Guarulhos Airport on Tuesday, that the affection for him is great. "I have a lot of support in Brazil and it's incredible to feel that when you arrive because it encourages me a lot. I know what it's like to be on the other side, admiring a driver. I remember when I was in karting and I was admiring the F1 guys. A gesture The smallest thing can change a lot for this or that young woman. I know that whatever I give, even if it's small, has a big impact on people. It doesn't cost me anything to make someone smile and it's worth it."

Leclerc's fans are treated very well, but they have also suffered a lot in recent years. Lack of luck, missed chances, a car that gives hope for being stronger in the classifications, allowing him to take pole positions, but which drops in production in the race have been common ingredients in the Monegasque's career

"It's true that we've had ups and downs in recent years, and it's difficult to return to a high level after a difficult weekend. But it's like that in life too. The fact is that I love what I do so much that, Even after a difficult race, I still have a smile on my face because I'm very lucky to make a living from the sport I love."

But Leclerc knows that you can't stay there almost forever. At Interlagos, for example, he never even got on the podium. His best result was fourth place last year. And that's something he wants to change. "I had races in Brazil where I wasn't very lucky. Other times, the car's performance wasn't as competitive as we expected, but I hope this will be the year"

Leclerc comes from two pole positions, in the United States and in Mexico City. In Formula 1 simulations , Ferrari appears as the second fastest car, behind Red Bull. That, in itself, would be a surprise, since Mercedes usually does well at Interlagos. And it would increase Leclerc's chances of reaching the podium in São Paulo in real life too, instead of just in the video game.

The São Paulo GP will be held this weekend, in a sprint format. As a result, there will only be one free practice session this Friday before qualifying for the GP, which starts at 3pm.

Am I the only one who feel like the rookie trio 2019 has turned into a duo of George and Alex and Lando has kind of left the group by now? We dont really see them interact anymore and Lando seemes so isolated lately?

in the last two GP's we've seen him laughing with Charles and Max and then Pierre, Alex again, Yuki, Lance, Zhou, we know he gets along with Oscar very well. he's usually spotted with Carlos. during the parade at Monaco he was chatting with Nyck, Max and Nando (the latter two we know love Lando) and then also had some cute little giggles and leg slaps with Lewis, and then he did his sneaky little elf routine behind Esteban to congratulate him on his podium mid-interview

maybe it's because George isn't my focus, but I just never really see him with many people other than Alex, but I see a Lando with literally half the grid 😅

hii … i’ve seen your tags from the classical drivers post and i was wondering if you know where i can get some more info about these drivers - the old guard like i call them in my mind - except from their biography on google.

Aw thank you so much for the ask! I'm regretting including so many drivers in my tags! This is going to be all over the place because my knowledge of these guys has kind of built up organically (I’ve been following F1 for too long haha) but I will try my best.

(I would just say one word of warning - if you google any of these guys be careful, as sadly several of them were killed racing and it’s really easy to accidentally see videos or photos of their crashes. Search with care!)

I'll start with Elio de Angelis because he's literally my fave - @riccardo-and-elio 's site Unfinished Symphony is the place to go - there are articles, photos, videos and so much more, as well as her other social media channels (the youtube is fantastic!) Her tumblr blog is great for Riccardo Patrese content too!

Graham Hill is one of my favourites because he was absolutely hilarious – here’s a good compilation of his funny moments

He won Monaco five times (only Senna has won more races at Monaco) and is so far the only driver to win the “Triple Crown” of motorsport – that is, winning the Monaco Grand Prix, the 24 hours of Le Mans and the Indy 500. His best win? Probably Monaco 1965 – he was forced to take to an escape road to avoid an accident, and had to get out of his car and physically push it back on the track to carry on with the race – he came back from 5th to win!

Jim Clark is still probably the greatest driver of all time. There is a good (long!) BBC documentary on him available here. A compilation of his best races is here.

i wasnt there for rbr daniel, but from videos and photos, he seemed like a shining burning star, bright and beautiful but also sad 😔 anyway lemme not wax poetic abt a vroom vroom man…as much as i want to…but if u ever wanna write that essay im all ears ma’am

the only way i can give people a snapshot into how i feel about daniel in 2018 is by telling them to watch the on the sofa: monaco edition video. he was so… large? he was shining? he had this glow about him. he seemed like he didn’t have a single care in the world, and that everything was his for the taking (🥲) and i just get so emotional thinking about how 2018 daniel started off as this larger than life character who got slowly broken down by the ugliness of his own goddamn racecar. he lost his spark towards the end and it was heartbreaking. hearing his voice wobble in both sadness and anger as he was on the verge of tears, spitting out “i don’t see the point in coming” after yet another DNF was the worst daniel related moment i have personally experienced and i never ever want to see and hear him that upset ever again.

renault took its toll on him in 2019. he didn’t have the insane pressure of an insanely talented teammate (sorry hulk </3) but he did have something to prove. he had to prove that the move made sense. that it was worth it. that he could still do great things in an average car. all eyes were on him and it didn’t go to plan, at all. he was happier than the latter half of 2018 but you can tell that 2019 was sobering, and i think that made him mature a hell of a lot more than people give him credit for.

2020 was HIS YEAR. truly, one of his best in the sport when you think of the fact he was in a RENAULT and able to help develop the car to the point where they got 3 podiums in a year!!!! everyone was placing him in the top 5 drivers of 2020 (they were right although i would say 3rd after lewis & max) everyone was kissing his ass and i think that restored some confidence. he’s always had self belief, but seeing vintage ricciardo back was so encouraging, not only to him but to everyone else who had written 2019 off.

maybe when i’ve processed the whiplash that the 2021 season has given me, i’ll be able to discuss it more but until then i will continue reminisce on the last few years of following him throughout his journey :’)

tl;dr i adore daniel when he’s up and i adore (yet hate seeing) daniel when he’s down. i love watching him race and i’ll be so sad when he leaves. he’s not allowed to leave, actually. i don’t think he will either, at least not through the memories and everything else he has brought and given to the sport - which is so much. so much.

I have mixed feelings about Charlene. On one hand, I suspect she and Albert have a bit of an arrangement in the sense he needed a wife, and she perhaps wanted to be taken care of - the Monaco royals don't really do any royal work since it's such a wealthy nation. But then on the other hand, when she was crying on the wedding day, Albert just kept looking at her so confused, like why was she crying so much? It was a weird vibe. Additionally, and this is just my opinion, I found this weird but when she found out she was having twins, she told Albert on the phone! He didn't go to the appointment with her! Another time, they released a video for Christmas and their interactions with the children were super sweet, but with each other, it was SO awkward and weird??? Also Albert had their engagement photos photoshopped to make her ring look bigger! I don't know, they are truly the weirdest royal couple for me.

I agree - they always seem a bit “off” to me. The rumors before their wedding day & then her tears just confirmed to me that if they ever had been in love (& I’m sure they had) they probably haven’t been (in the usual sense, at least) for a while. I also agree that it likely just came down to him needing a wife, her liking the lifestyle she became used to as his girlfriend/fiancé, and both of them being fine with the arrangement since they knew they were at least compatible.

The other thing that I found odd (tw: infertility) is that it took so long for Charlene to get pregnant… and when she did she had twins. We know Albert can father children so any “issues” weren’t necessarily on his end. And the fact that it took 4 years and then she had twins makes me think it was IVF. And that explains why she told him over the phone - they knew twins would have been a huge possibility so it wasn’t really a surprise/shock to them. It might have even been what they wanted since it gave her and heir and a spare in 1 shot. If the agreement was that Charlene had to produce an heir and a spare before she could leave it makes sense that they would have waited a little while, done IVF, had twins, waited a little while longer & then…… shes making moves.

Perhaps they won’t get divorced. Perhaps she’ll just stay in SA and live separately with the official line being that she is working on her foundation. She’ll return to Monaco regularly to see the kids, they’ll travel to see her, but she and Albert will just be platonic co-parents.

what was the first sebchal content you saw, and what was your reaction to silvia's intervention in seeing red?

I can’t remember what the very first Sebchal content I saw was, but I remember reading through Nat’s (redpaint) and Matilda’s (4mulaone) blogs to catch up and bring myself up to speed on the incredible unhinged shenanigans of 2019. I actually went back and checked and this is my first reblog where I tag them together (last year’s Spa qualy session which went spectacularly badly for Ferrari and they just sort of had a misery loves company, and mine seems to love your company more than anybody else’s moment where they shook their heads and laughed at how awful their car is.) And this is the first reblog where I actually tag them as #sebchal (Mugello 2020.) So I...actually haven’t been here for all that long. 😳

As for Seeing Red...I totally get how someone who doesn’t have much prior knowledge about F1 can be misled by their blatant overdramatisation of events. I was kind of drifting in and out of the fandom in 2017 and 2018 and ended up missing the vast majority of 2019 ‘cause last year of college and other interests, etc. So I just threw on the two seasons of DTS as a refresher/crash course introduction to all the new drivers on the grid that I hadn’t been paying much attention to before. And then Seeing Red came on and my initial takeaway was that “oh, these two do not like each other” which was obviously the narrative Buxton and co. tried so hard to push. So I think my very first reaction to Silvia trying to diffuse the tension was “oh yikes.” asdjf I also ended up watching some of their 2019 videos on YT and, like...I distinctly remember watching their Grill The Grid and thinking how awkward they are with each other and how wildly off their vibes are. I even found it kind of amusing that Seb’s been brought out of his comfort zone of having a familiar teammate and ended up with someone he doesn’t really like or vibe with, especially after he constantly poked fun at the tension between Nico and Lewis during interviews in 2015 and 2016. 

So I totally get how that can be like, the initial surface reaction to them. They are outwardly awkward with each other, due to the ten year age gap, their different backgrounds, different levels of English proficiency (which means sometimes Seb’s jokes go way over Charles’s head), their individual sense of humour and also just their personalities. But then I started digging more and uncovering things like the “Ich liebe dich” moment and, of course, the story behind Bahrain 2019 and the cheek cradle...and then I went even further, back to when Charles was snapping photos of Seb during winter testing in 2018 or their press conference in Monaco that same year where Seb praises him and Charles is all flustered, or the way he got to witness Seb’s only Monaco win with Ferrari in 2017. And you realise, “hey, this is the part Netflix doesn’t show you!” So I get what Charles was saying about how, the media latched onto and blew up the more negative aspects of their relationship (team orders, crashes, qualifying misunderstandings, etc.) without giving the same attention to the more positive aspects and moments, which quite frankly I think ultimately outweighed the bad stuff, which they tended to move on from pretty quickly. 

Then, keeping all of that in mind, I went to re-watch Seeing Red with a new perspective and...yeah. You definitely see the fondness, the playful teasing, but also the underlying respect. The way Charles is trying to get Seb’s attention, gauge his reaction...trying to make him look and see him and make him laugh or at least put a smile on his face - his cheery greeting and genuine smile when Seb gets into the car, for example. The way he’s trying to learn more about him and seems genuinely interested in his response, like when he asks what music Seb listens to. When you look at it from that perspective obviously “we’ll start by holding hands” becomes a key moment and not just an awkward throwaway line.
