Some of my personal recomendations that I can list from the top of my head, I will be writing a lot of text below so hold onto your horses.

My Life- NatalieFirexx

Still running to this day and in its 12th season. So amazing to see the growth over the years. The first seasons are so funny in a sense of knowing a little Christian emo kid made them, but later seasons have developed into such an interesting story with beautiful visuals, incredible cinematography and relationships that you end up caring about so deeply. Every season has a new storyline to follow and it's always so wild remembering all that's happened in its 10 year run and thinking up what else is to come. Though season 12 is said to be it's final season and I look forward to seeing what Natalie has in store for us after the finale.

The story of My Life follows the Andrews family and their friends in everyday shenanigans, you know, the usual: teen pregnancy, kidnapping, vampires, murder, identity theft, angels, ghosts, hacked kids and love.

(There's also a My Life Abridged voice acting series of season 1 currently in the works, now at episode 5)

Smooth Criminal - SaltPepperSims1408

I always have fun rewatching this. Its only 2 seasons long and once again, a sims series that evolved over it's run. Following Abby as her life goes from normal (if you can call your illegal scientist parents experimenting on criminals in your basement normal) to having visions of her parent's test subject's past and joining his gang where hes the leader and battles a disease that gives him 10x the strength and intelligence of a regular human being. Catch is, this genetic disease is rare and makes you go insane. Most people with it end up insane by 30.

A series with a lot of guns, a badass female main protag, death, once again, teen pregnancy (which will be a common sims series theme), fun dream/vision sequences and in my opinion has a great sense of humour.

SaltPepperSims1408 also has a highly recommended voice over series (though incomplete) titled Apokalypsis, a group of young adults/teens trying to survive in an apocalypse.

CINDER - GrayLeeStudios

Based on the book CINDER by Marissa Meyer. Cinder is a beautifully made voice over series, great visuals, wonderfully told it's story, though it is incomplete at 5 episodes, each running 10-18 minutes. Loosely based on the original Cinderella story but in a futuristic Beijing, adding robots, a colonization on the moon and a deadly plague that has affected the Emperor.

The protagonist is the mechanic, Lihn Cinder. Despite how well known her work as a mechanic is, she is looked down on for being a cyborg and is presented for plague research where she and Prince Kai become closer.

Y O U T H - 1998sims

YOUTH is a retelling of Youth, also a sims series by the same creator that reached its second season before discontinuing. Already a series that dealt with real life issues and involved a lot of representation in its characters. YOUTH is a different experience with all new characters, even more representation and everyone still feeling real in a way where their identities don't define them but are in NO WAY erased at all, like they're real people. When comparing the two series you can see the similar storyline but now its so much fresher and with new characters, their decisions in these situations change. Follows the story of multiple characters in their teen years and learning to deal with being a teen or in some cases having to make adult decisions despite that. Currently up to episode 5 but there is still so much more to come.

1998sims is also the creator behind Avoiding Fate, Its Complicated (currently not available online) and the most iconic series that I HIGHLY suggest you watch; My Sims 2 Emo Teen Pregnancy Kidnapping Story

SOUP - SimFilm

This sims 3 voice over series is brand new, as of this month, with one episode released but I'm already in love with it. It has this deadpan sense of humour I can get behind and I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes. It appears the episodes will be short and sweet but I really don't mind at all.

Our protagonist, Harris Gold, alphabetizes his life's misfortunes like a can of alphabet soup.

I quote "looks pretty decent on the outside, but when you open the can, you'll simply want to kill yourself"

The filming is wonderful, I love the voice actors and how well they play their roles, the story so far is fun and silly but deals with really strong issues other teenagers might have experienced growing up. Kind of like laughing the pain away and I adore it.

Raison D'etre - Cornymio

I haven't watched a lot of sims 4 machinima if im to be honest (since life to death stories are so rampant on YouTube at the moment and I'd rather just avoid them) but this series was very well made. Only 2 episodes but the voice acting is amazing, the sims custom animations are wonderful and at times the sims can be almost perfectly lip synced to the voices. Has an indie film vibe that I adore, very calming and I adore the camera work. This is a revamp of the creators old Sims 3 series by the same title.

Reine Reynolds enrols herself into a new school, here we meet a variety of students who are all relatable in one way or another with different relationships amongst themselves. A nice watch and won't take long to get through.

Marry Me! - Tickled007

This is actually a companion piece to Marry You by Maot Productions. Marry You has more episodes and progressed it's story much further but personal preference I like Marry Me!'s characters and humour better. Not a fault to the creators though, since I believe they wrote both stories together and I do still recommend you go watch Marry You as well, just my personal taste. I also watched this very recently which is probably why it's on my mind rn.

Marry Me! Is a 2 episode long (so far) voice over series that's quite high energy, it's about a loud "bitch" fashion designer called Serafie and a "pushover" called Carmion. Two opposites that somehow cross paths and after a money hiccup, Seraphie demands that Carmion marry her. I love how silly it is, very kdrama inspired. If you can get past the overused swooping sfx in episode one (which drove me insane but will go away in episode 2) I think it's super enjoyable.

Tickled007 is also the creator of Passcode Unknown, Too Popular and And... Obvious.

I feel it unfair not to mention Maot Productions other creations either since they were also a big part of the Marry Me! Marry You project. They created Sense Me Not!, Corrupted Souls, Cruel Temptation and Retribution

Other simmers and their series that I highly recommend but realise this ask is going to get extremely long

EkolarasMagnum

Their series tend to have this grungy highschool feel to them but I get behind it. They're known for their more interesting sims style, some people love it, some people hate it but it shouldn't get in the way of the interesting stories. I used to adore their work so much as a teenager!

Holy shit I just watched Dark Phoenix and it was so much worse than I thought it was gonna be so here’s a big fat rant.

My entire thoughts about this movie can be summarised by this picture:

But since I need to get some agression out, ladies and gentlemen and whoever and whatever else, here we go:

- FIRST OF ALL, what the hell was the relationship between Scott and Jean in this movie? Was there any sort of chemistry that i missed in this movie because if there was I did not see a damn spark. While in the previous movies I actually liked the romance between them this movie tried to make the romance seem like it had progressed without actually making any progression to actual maturity. You have to choose one of the other

- the mystique “x women” like was probably a good example of one of the worst and crunchiest ways to include feminism into the film and took place after nightcrawler saved someone so retrospectively it just didn’t make sense

- how are you just going to completely ignore quicksilver character who is the fan favourite of the entire franchise basically. Quicksilver was there for approximately 2 seconds and him yeeting away was not thoroughly explained

- again THE REASON FOR quicksilver not being there is that he is injured... r you fucking kidding me, this is a prime example of quite possibly the laziest writing on earth to the most fan favourite character, how did you think you would get away with this?

- it is so clear to me that this movie is a giant and physical representation of everyone who has ever been part of this franchise remake being so over it

- didn’t jean already show ... that she had.. these powers... in x men apocalypse... u know what whatever let’s just move past this major plot hole it seems like we have been doing that so ok (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG I GENUINELY NEED TO KNOW)

- this entire movie passes on information to the audience by telling instead of showing which is the exact opposite of what a movie is supposed to do. Also this telling takes place over every cheesy and cliche dialogue with extensive narration and exposition.

- Jessica chastains character is supposed to be important and drive her and jean’s actions but like honestly super dull and non threatening and nothing was convincing

- the worst part of this film is the untapped potential it could have had with its amazing actors and the storyline of the Dark Phoenix. They could have delved furthers into more risky and morally grey areas such as jean being something other than like a countdown on a Grenade... some IDK CRaZy ThOuGht dOnT miNd mE buT deVeloPmeNt??

-there wasn’t that much that was actually “dark” to me like the title tries to imply. Yeah sure she caused a lot of property damage and killed like a few people but so what.

-the timeline and lack of actual continuity within these movies shows that the people who worked on this film just did not give a crap about this. I’ve tried to ignore the timeline in the past x men films and just enjoy them for what they are but it’s kind of gotten past the point of subtle. This makes the film infuriating.

-the ending train sequence was to me probably the most exciting and well done scenes in that movie but honestly at that point I just didn’t care. Like I loved magneto just killing people but then was like oh never mind you have just completely destroyed his character yet again

-Charles Xavier was endlessly frustrating and literally not a single ounce of the character I actually loved was in this film

-we don’t need every single thing spelt out to us in pure narration and exposition Jesus Christ it was exhausting

-if you are going to completely destroy any characterisation of the actual mystique that comic fans know then you sure as hell better make it work (it hasn’t) and when the character dies you better make sure it has some impact. Oh never mind, the death had no eotiomal weight to it... whatsoever

-magneto has the same arc in every film and it felt super tired despite the supreme acting that we know that fassbender can actually do and the entire film resulted in him not actually having an arc and making sure to destroy every chance of that

- so beast.. the new headmaster is the school who’s entire plot and decision of going against Xavier was driven by mystique’s death and then when it comes to renaming the school, names it after jean instead of mystique who has been portrayed as a symbol in the movies and apparently some sort of moral compass. Again, a pattern is coming through... none of this movie being necessary or making sense

-cyclops (Scott) has no actual personality to him in this entire movie, in fact the directors seem to have done a movie ginny Weasley on him and essentially made him a poster card declaring his undying love for jean grey (which btw again was a really flat Romance) with nothing else and no character development in this film and I mean seeing that Jean is “dead” wtf is this supposed to mean for him

- SO MANY PLOTHOLES

-quicksilver would have been able to resolve this entire plot 2 minutes into this film.. why didn’t he teleport back into the shuttle with jean and Kurt... therefore having time to get the last astronaut

- the scene with nightcrawler where he literally just massacres a bunch of people while ngl kinda cool to see destroys the entire pacifier nature of Kurt that is essential to him and I really don’t get why they felt the need to do this. You killed azazel off screen like they r different characters stop mixing them

- I’m so sorry to the actors and actresses in this film, almost all of whom have shown (Sophie turner, Nicholas Hoult, James Mcavoy and Michael fassbender in particular) that they are some of the most talented people in cinema and you can see that they tried but like how much can you actually do

- and not a single fuck was given about this movie

-what was the ending scene

-surprised that the movie broke even ngl

-you could have done so much better

The way Phyona writes the interactions between Yuuri and Victor are some of my absolute favorite. She writes them as good-natured rivals, always ready to compete against one another; as both coach and both student, willing to direct and support one another; as best friends, willing to tease and goof off with one anther; as lovers, passionately invested in one another; and as soulmates, completing and fulfilling one another. She is amazing at writing both comedy and drama, switching between moods and creating the appropriate emotional gravitas. But her stories have positive messages about growth and becoming stronger together.

Nerve Endings

Rating: Explicit Words: 74.1k Status: Complete Relationship: Katsuki Yuuri/Victor Nikiforov Tags: Canon compliant; Post-season 1; Domestic fluff; Anxiety; Miscommunication; Learning to relationship ❤❤❤❤❤  Summary: When Yuuri moves in with Victor in St. Petersburg, they have to work through Yuuri's anxiety and Victor's secrets to find their balance. ❤❤❤❤❤  Review: This is my favorite post-season 1 fic where Yuuri and Victor learn to live together. This is a story of their interactions off of the ice and how they inspire each other to be better people and boyfriends. Their interactions are awkward but eager at the beginning, and slowly they learn to work through their issues and grow closer emotionally and sexually. One of my favorite parts about this story is when Yuuri has an anxiety attack and almost convinces himself that Victor doesn't love him like he loves Victor, but he's able to work through the negative thoughts and recognize that it's in his head and that he doesn't deserve to think of himself like that. I really like how he is able to work through it himself, which I think is a powerful message. I recognize that this isn't necessarily possible for all people. We all need help at times and sometimes can't work through things by our own power, and that's why emotional support and medical science are so important. But don't discredit how much you can do yourself. Yes, Yuuri is an anxious bean and he can't help his brain chemistry, but he doesn't let it rule or excuse his decisions. He learns to accept and empower himself for both Victor and himself. I love this sort of hopeful and powerful message.

Puppy Love

Rating: Teen Words: 10.4k Status: Complete Relationship: Katsuki Yuuri/Victor Nikiforov Tags: Canon divergent; Dog Yuuri; Curses; Dead Makkachin; Hurt/comfort ❤❤❤❤❤  Summary: When Yuuri gets turned into a dog, the last place he expects to end up is Victor Nikiforov's apartment. He learns quickly that the only thing worse than being his idol's pet, is watching him pine for someone else. ❤❤❤❤❤  Review: A wonderful oneshot that is both humorous and sad. Victor is suffering the loss of Makkachin and becomes attached to puppy Yuuri, and Yuuri simultaneously wants to hide from Victor and emotionally support the man through his grief. The story is charming in how these two become closer in this weird situation that does eventually correct itself. And they have an appropriately awkward yet happy and honest interaction at the end.

Piyo13 (@piyo-13)

Most of Piyo13's stories are fluffy short stories, about 50/50 Victuuri and Phichimetti. All are appropriately sweet. Her wraiths pinned to the mist is a longer fluffy story where Yuuri and Viktor are scientists in Antartica. Her meatiest, and my personal fave, story is a series that takes place in an alternate canon universe where everyone has daemons - external physical representations of a person's inner self. She's currently written three fics in this universe, and I look forward to whatever else Piyo13 writes in it!

Rating: Teen Words: 40.9k Status: Complete Relationship: Katsuki Yuuri/Victor Nikiforov Tags: Canon divergence; Daemons AU; Gold medal ending ❤❤❤❤❤  Summary: There's no rules regarding where a daemon has to be in relation to their skater, only that they aren't allowed on the ice. This has always seemed a little unfair to Yuuri. After all, he loves skating like he loves his own soul; why can't he have both? ❤❤❤❤❤  Review: There are several things I love about this story. First, the daemons are adorable and help enhance the story and character scenes without overpowering the characters we already know. They're given their own character without taking up the spotlight, which I feel is the best way to write OCs. Second, despite it being an alternative retelling of the series, every scene feels fresh. Piyo13 is selective about which scenes she covers from the anime, avoiding only retreading over what's familiar. The scenes are altered enough with the presence of the daemons to help them feel new. Additionally, she doesn't let the scenes drag, capturing Yuuri's thoughts succinctly and with wit, and then moving on to the next scene. Even better are the original slice-of-life scenes Piyo13 added to further develop characters and relationships. Moments between Yuuri and Phichit talking over chat (about more than Victor) that delve into their friendship; a moment after JJ's flopped SP where Yuuri helps JJ become motivated again; a moment at the end where Yuuri's parents tell him how proud they are and he thanks them for their love and support; and then all of the new moments between Victor and Yuuri, like when they first start practising pair skating. Third, and probably the best, the last few chapters fix all the major grievances I had with the anime's ending. (Note: If you don't want anything spoiled, stop reading right now). Yuuri gets the gold medal; Chris and Otabek end up on the podium with him; Yuuri and Victor's decision to return to the ice doesn't feel rushed (they return to Hasetsu before discussing their decisions); and, most importantly, Yuuri's decision to return to the ice is only influenced by his own realization that he loves it and that he doesn't want to stop what he's had with Victor just yet. It's not debased or obfuscated by rivalry, when Yuuri's main character arc was always that he's his own worse enemy. The series also includes two side stories: a falling star can't fall forever, a prequel about Victor and Vasilisa; and life's not a paragraph, focusing on Chris. Overall, this is an amazing story.

The 2nd fic is a cute, little side-story after they've become partners, where Yuuri tries to show Viktor a Miyazaki movie... and proceeds to regret it once he realizes Viktor's one of those people who must always question and/or nitpick a movie out loud while watching. Haha. The ending where they re-enact an early scene from the movie is horrendously adorable though.

He can be a bit preachy when it comes to Viktor's choice to support from the sidelines, but still loves him and tries to find a middle ground. Viktor is the pragmatic realist on the other hand, knowing that supporting this endeavor will cause him to lose his prestige and gold medals. Initially he's insensitive about Yuuri's choice, but eventually agrees to support him but in ways that won't cause him to sacrifice his hard-earned legacy. It's not that he doesn't believe in the cause, but rather he's not willing to give up that much. I personally enjoy this taken on Viktor and find his opinion a valid one, even though Yuuri's lines up more with my own ideals. Eventually, he does fully join and support the cause when things become more personal, but before then is a lot of struggle between the two to find middle ground and maintain a supportive relationship. It's a realistic struggle that I'm certain many couples can sympathize with, and I appreciate the story for going there. This story's greatest strength is the real-life issues, struggles, and reactions these characters face, and yet their desire to continue to support, fight, and love one another. It's a really great story that I hope powerandpathos decides to continue again some day in the future.

And Victor and Yuuri are forming a connection earlier due to their friends' support. The latest chapter is my fave - they've pretty much had the entire beach scene conversation from episode 4, Victor has opened up about feeling lost at this moment in his life, Yuuri has an anxiety attack and snaps out all of his frustractions, Victor meets him in the middle, and they agree to help each other through their rough patches. Everybody is so supportive and wonderful, and I love such positive relationships. It's a sped-up version of their relationship from the anime with less miscommunication issues. And while I can definitely appreciate a slowburn, sometimes you just want to avoid a repeat of the same scenarios or the miscommunication tropes. That doesn't mean that there isn't a potential for more angst or miscommunication (I mean, there's always this fic's version of "Let's end this"), but everything is at a pretty healthy point currently. It warms my heart. And the roadtrip aspect just has the potential for so many more warm, supportive moments. I can't wait for more!

I have a lot of issues with riverdale in general, but I feel like bughead attacks me personally due to the I N T E N T I O N A L erasure of jughead’s aromanticism and asexuality that the writers have no plans on correcting themselves on in the future. This shows that they do not think aces are WORTHY enough to be written about, that we do not DESERVE to see ourselves on tv and that because we are aroace, we inherently cannot be part of decent arcs because of our aroaceness. And thus we end up with a jughead that feels like he has had something cut out of him as the writers rewrite his whole being and force him into situations he is super uncomfortable in. 

To Sprouse’s credit (or this may just be me holding out hope for a character that I can connect with) jughead is still played, and kinda written, as though he is a confused aroace/aroace in denial. However, bughead seeks to erase any mention of the AROace part of his identity and that’s why a lot of the community is mad.

And let us not forget how DISRESPECTFUL the riverdale fandom is. They talk about jughead without know the damage his re-writing is doing to the ace and aro communities and how bughead personally invalidates us. And their bullshit ‘alternative universe’ is bullshit because as I have said before it goes to show how aphobic this fandom and show can be just so they can force a ship that was never meant to be onto a character that literally does not need one. There is romance between other characters in the show, you do not need to attack the A R O M A N T I C A S E X U A L and force him to fit your allo romance mould.

In ep 1 betty was meant to be head over heels, irrevocably in love with archie, in ep 3 she wouldn’t have blinked if you said his name. there was also something going on with veronica and archie, but that was literally never mentioned again. and after the betty/veronica kiss in ep 1, did they ever even discuss that again?? cause I can tell you if someone kissed me and I wasn’t aware they were going to, and do it so publicly and unexpectedly, I would be flipping my shit.

Its things like that that show that riverdale was written by people who don’t really know what they are doing. And its things like the queer-baiting beronica kiss that show that river was written by non-queer writers. the way the show has handled its queer rep has been bullshit. I mean kevin says in either ep 3 or 4 that he wishes moose would just stay in the closet?? What kind of self respecting queer person would push away and further closet someone who is obviously struggling with themselves?? and do we get to know more about the snake guy from the drive in episode?? I reckon we won’t. The show is not progressive for having a gay character, and they way the have handled him is bullshit to say the least. 

And this doesn’t even begin to describe the show’s inability to deal with its own storylines. the writing is painful and I hate it but I keep holding out because jughead means a lot to me as an ace person. even without the consideration of queer rep, the plotlines in the show do not develop naturally or overlap with each other well enough to make this show any kind of Good. I mean, what was going on with the wolf masks in the fear ep?? I have written about this elsewhere but that makes no sense in writing or onstage?? Of course, it is reasonable that betty and jughead will break up in a few episodes, but to rectify the damage that bughead has caused, this breakup needs to be followed with jughead coming to terms with and being comfortable in his AROMANTIC ASEXUAL self. And the fandom but accept this and move on, or else continue to ship bughead in non-romantic ways. 

I am all down for this kind of arc, but something tells me that the writers do not have the guts to do something so bold.
