#WHY AM I ONLY THINKING OF THIS ONCE THE SEMESTER HAS ENDED#so the final essay assignment was about culture (esp pop) and all that n i wrote about the impact of technology in local pop culture spaces#BUT. i could've written about the prominent classism issue ive always been mad about#classism exists everywhere and its sucha fucking pain to encounter it in fandom spaces#couldve been a beautiful paper#the scope is very narrow but i think it wouldve been great#as with pop culture a lot of people are in on the bandwagon and the practice is mass & the stream is v fast#and the more successful ppl are almost always the ones who had more money beforehand#low budget creatives are looked down upon especially if their works aren't at the very least groundbreaking#'good' is simply not enough. paying for services is not enough. making your own equipments instead of buying expensive brands is not enough#and man am i fed up with the fucking arguments because ppl are missing the point of like#'if you cant afford to be a creative in local spaces then maybe there are things you should prioritize first' and this alone pains me bcs#yes there are things to prioritize because god forbid ppl like me make art without worrying about tomorrow's meal#and while i believe being a creative shouldnt be this expensive i do understand what they mean. i get it first hand#but this simple of a point still goes over people's head who took it as 'dont create art if you're poor'#'when you've paid a lot on something and some low budget artist comes in with their work getting more attention'#'if youre poor the least you could do is not making it worse by doing art'#ARE THEY HEARING THEMSELVES.#do they not realize what they're essentially saying they dont think poor people should make art#I LIVE IN A SOCIETY WHEREIN MY PURPOSE IS TO SCRAPE BY AND BE AN EXAMPLE OF THE COUNTRY'S ECONOMY#got a little heated there sorry tehee give me $500#krispeaks#idk if you noticed from my ramblings but it does get tiring to enter fandom spaces full with rich kids whose only problems are fandom drama

I've always kinda wondered, do you know why AFTG fandom has leaned so hard into Neil being ginger when I don't think he is canonically? Like, I wouldn't say auburn = ginger, especially not the neon orange a lot of fanart has. He even describes his natural hair color as a shade of brown — "Neil had dyed his hair brown from time to time, but never this shade [...] This was his natural color[...]" (TRK, CH 16) etc. Like, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter at all lmao but I read the books before I saw any fanart, so I was surprised when I saw Neil looking like a Weasley lol.
Okay so I will preface this by saying that I am not someone who has strong feelings about the Neil Josten Auburn vs Ginger "discourse" that occasionally pops up. When I was younger, and my hair was longer, and I actually saw sunlight on a semi-regular basis - my hair was described as auburn so when I pictured Neil I pictured him with dark reddish-brown hair that was "reddish" in the sense that it was warm and had that red-glow in the sunlight but at a glance would definitely be described as "brown".
Coming onto tumblr and seeing fanart with him with red red and/or ginger looks was mildly surprising but I liked the combo of red hair & blue eyes so it didn't really faze me.
But you asked *why* and I thought about it, and well, here's how I think it happened:
First, know that unless you have auburn hair or know someone who you've heard describe their hair as auburn - and it's distinctly brown - you probably only have a vague idea of what "auburn" means. Red-brown is kind of vague when you think about it. Just think of all the different wood stains in the red-brown category! There's like 50!
And when you Google auburn hair, this is pretty much what you get:
Tumblr media
Which definitely implies that "auburn" is "dark red" rather than "reddish-brown".
Once you have it in your head that auburn is a classification of "dark red" it's incredibly easy for creative license and interpretation to open that up into "red hair". From which the leaning will be toward "ginger" as that's a very popular aesthetic in fiction. A lot of people think ginger when being told a character has red hair, despite there being a lot of different shades of red hair that wouldn't necessarily be considered "ginger". And yes, a part of this is probably because when you think of redheads in pop culture, you get characters (like the Weasleys) who are ginger and are described by the more broad classification of having red hair/as redheads.
And so, even if you KNOW people with red hair who aren't gingers, or with auburn hair who aren't redheads, the association between "hair with red in it" to "ginger" becomes pretty easy and commonplace.
At least, this is my interpretation. Fanlore likes bandwagons, so maybe an artist once went "Oh but I like the combo of ginger/redhead with blue eyes let's do that for Neil" and people liked it and so it stuck *shrug* I only joined this fandom in 2020 so I couldn't tell you exactly how it started.
Either way, I think it's cool to see the different ways people interpret the characters. The fandom has kind of universally decided that Dan & Matt are Black and Renee is often drawn as being Asian, which is really cool. Also, the incredible variety of interpretation of the Minyards. Sometimes they're twinks, sometimes they're stocky lil boulder men. Curly hair, straight hair, every shade of blond imaginable. There isn't really a consensus when it comes to them like there is with many of the other characters.
We all just love them so much, and so when we write or draw them, we imbue more of what we like/love into the designs. That's kind of the beauty of fanworks. You can take something you already like and then add more of what you like to it! And then share it with other people who like it too!!
Anyway, I'm gonna stop here before I go on an extended rant about how much I love fanfiction as a Thing. Hope that helped answer your question!
xoxo - Will

imma just pop in here and say that kpop groups have been going to american music festivals since the 2010s, why is it only a problem now? and i mean, ateez isn't even headlining, so i lowkey feel like yall are making this out to be a wayyy bigger deal than it is. like, it's giving possessive, its giving delusional. and not like "delulu" but "Delusional." capital D. kpop has been getting popularized in the US since psy came out with gangnam style, and then even more so in 2017 when BTS dropped DNA. like it or not, kpop is a very popular genre in the united states, and a large amount of companies revenue at this point comes from ticket and album sales in the states. also, calling the girls at coachella "bandwagoning blind basic bitches" isn't the serve you think it is, bc guess what? at this point, kpop is basic bitch music. and it has been since like, 2018. and that's okay. you will live!
you're missing the context like i'm over here on earth and you're in the next galaxy because
a. don't talk to me about hallyu wave, i've been here since 2009 so you sit your dumb cowardly ass back down and stop shitting in my ask box
b. you're missing the whole point and you not asking context or explanation and just jumping into conclusion says A LOT about your comprehension skill
c. i didn't aim that title at anyone in particular it was just me being dramatic but hey you seem to be triggered so i guess you feel like a bandwagoning POTENTIAL blind basic bitch and i feel sorry for you, do think of yourself a bit more highly mkay dumbass?
d. no kpop is not basic bitch music but maybe to you because you are a basic bitch like look at you so fucking creative hiding behind anon trying to go off but failing like pls you sound like my 12 year old little brother trying to justify his bad grades like go off, loser, waste more time and energy, this is fucking entertaining for me like seeing a muppet get angry lmao
e. kpop is popular everywhere, just because the us had FINALLY catch the fuck up doesn't make it special, okay karen ? there are us kpop fans who have been around since the time suju members could bend down without their backs cracking but rn industries in the us just wanna use kpop as money printing machines rather than actually welcoming the culture and that's how business works, i know, but doesn't mean i have to like it and i can comment on it
f. i don't have any problem per se, i just have opinions like yours but mine is not infringing on other people's spaces and i actually have a point

i wanna rant for a lil and i hope it’s okay lol but i feel like loa tumblr is such a mess right now. i genuinely think that a new blog can pop up and just say the most random things but because they made it “aesthetic” everyone goes crazy over them/their posts. like i deadass could come up in here and tell y’all that manifesting is bullshit but if i put it in a cute little font and put those damn copy paste sparkles people would eat it up and the blogs would start saying “y’all manifesting isn’t even real” even though we are literally on loa tumblr like our whole shtick is manifesting LMAO😩 i just feel like that whole bandwagon culture is so prominent here but i feel like it’s due to a lot of people on here being desperate and wanting to absorb as much info as they can and… yeah. also the amount of blogs spreading limiting beliefs or shitting on other peoples methods is just too much for me lmao, why create an account on here if you have limiting beliefs AND then choosing to spread it?? to a lot of possibly gullible people who just want to change their lives?? i-
no i agree, it's absolutely crazy to me that anyone can create a loass blog and start "teaching" it when they know nothing about it. and because they say it with authority and--like you said--have an aesthetic presentation, lots of people just gobble it right up. obviously there's those of us who know the law well enough not to be fooled by stuff like this, but there's also a lot of people new here who have no idea what's wrong and what's right. and ofc, as we all know, the law sounds too good to be true at first, even if it isn't. so ofc they're gonna believe limiting beliefs that people push out, because with limitations the law almost feels more believable. but the amount of asks i get that are people spiraling bc they heard a limiting belief from someone who doesn't fully grasp the law is crazy to me. if you don't know what you're talking about why would you offer advice on it? or try to teach it? and why would you make a post that goes against what every single other blog is saying? like why would you assume you know more about the law than a veteran loass blog? if a popular loass blog that's been around a while says something such as "you have to drink water to get results" is a limiting belief, why would you be like "um no actually it isn't, i learned about the law 3 days ago and im telling you drinking water is a necessity!" ??? but sadly it's not like there's a way to control who makes a loass blog and spreads limiting beliefs. we have worked so hard to debunk and dismantle limiting beliefs not only in ourselves but in the community as a whole, and people can just pop up and undo that work without any warning. it's crazy

I’m from the us and I wonder if some of these more hardcore trad girls who wish we all lived in the 40s and 50s are aware that their idolization of 50s housewives is based on fake ads. So many women back then were either on drugs given to them by their doctor or hid their true feelings out of fear from their husbands because husbands back then were able to throw their wives into psychiatric hospitals for lobotomies if they had a mental breakdown over their lives or anything. Some girls were lobotomized just for being more free spirited and less like a “lady” and their families sent them to those hospitals. My grandma who lived through that time worked as a nurse had a lot of sad stories of meeting women who were trapped in abusive marriages, having kids they didn’t want and since postpartum depression wasn’t understood well, the “therapy” offered was electroshocks to the head or something else. And they knew that they would be thrown into mental hospitals and kept there until the doctor claimed those women were “cured” - there are other things I remember talking to grandma about before she passed, and while I like some of the aesthetics of trad living, there’s a lot of ignorance from young girls who don’t know the reality of what a lot of women had gone through back then :/ it’s not just sitting in a kitchen eating aprons and baking cake all day.
Well, I have nothing to add because you pretty much said it all, but overall I'm SICK of revisionist vision about womanhood and how women have been treated in recent History
You nailed it about 50s/60s housewives, but tbh I'm still seething about how some radfem try to rehabilitate 00s icon as some martyr of modern pop culture when they have done objectively awful things and that the way they've been treated by media can't solely be inputted on misogyny
Paris Hilton? the woman who infamously said lesbians were disgusting on tape and has an obsessive hate boner against Black men (there's this story floating about her saying she and Vin Diesel hooked up in a club and when she realized how 'dark' he was on more natural lights, dumped him💀)?
I wouldn't be surprised radfem would still defend her though, saying shit like "sHe wAs so YouNg" .....when homegirl was already in her 20s and that being young isn't an excuse for homophobia or racism 💀 Paris Hilton was quite awful in her peak (mid-late 00s) and she being antagonized by media was quite understandable actually. It was literally her brand. Zoomers who barely lived in that era have no idea of what they're talking about.
Her PR machine went OFF with that documentary about her abuse in that rich kids school and did an excellent job glossing over the many shady shit she did afterwards under the "disturbed rich girl" shtick....
I have second hand embarrassment watching (lesbian) radfem who bought into it and jumped on the rehabilitation bandwagon....
And TBH /unpopular opinion/ but I feel the same about Britney. Homegirl went off the rails after her In the Zone album, and as shady her family was, there was solid ground in putting her under tutorship (her erratic behavior, marrying that paparazzi guys, shaving her head, then assaulting journalists.... Regardless her -understandable- reasons for behaving like this (mental illness, mind control, etc.) those were valid ground to put under legal check, and I'm sick of people acting that there were some sort of mediatic conspiracy against Britney to make her fall out... Media harassment was just the nail on the coffin - she being overworked and controlled all her life was the main reason for her snapping like she did.
And don't get me started about Amber Heard stans acting like anyone supporting Johnny Depp has been brainwashed WHEN JOHNNY DEPP IS A LITERAL HOLLYWOOD ACTOR WHOSE STARDOM/FAME PREDATES THE INTERNET CONTAGION EFFECT PARTISANSHIP. If anything the general public supporting him instead of Amber is the organic status quo, and the only 'internet brainwashing ' was those viral tweet/Tiktok seeking to "expose" Depp and rally people to Heard's cause, which is a tactic that even Heard applaud , see :
Tumblr media
You see TikTok defending Depp so you start being on his side? "YOu'vE beEn bRainWashEd"
You see Tiktok defending Heard so you start being in her side? "THats sO rEasDurIng to rEad #thetideisturning"
I just loathe how flipflopping these people are when it comes to interpret turn of events depending whether it fits their bias or not.
Also people need to stop expecting another #freebritney moment whenever they think a woman gets unfairly treated by the media. Britney was America's sweetheart. No other female celebrity comes close to the impact and influence she got on a whole generation of girls, who later on became publicist, journalists, blogger, etc. and held enough mediatic leverage to make that movement happen. That's not going to happen for Heard who, beside wifing Johnny Depp, is a literal "who", and is nowhere near having the endearing aura of Britney (doesn't Heard have the reputation of behaving poorly with people? She spat on her assistant face when she complained about some stuff💀)

'Barbenheimer, the cultural phenomenon that crossed the streams between the theatrical releases of Barbie and Oppenheimer, continues to dominate the news cycle. While the internet has buzzed about Barbenheimer for quite some time, the reality of this mythic double feature has been exciting to behold on a personal level.
Though the box office results have been impressive, there may still be a bunch of you readers who haven’t gotten onto the Barbenheimer bandwagon. It’s understandable, but should you have any reservations about why you should jump into the Barbenheimer experience, I’ve got you covered. Avoiding spoilers, here’s a list of reasons why it’s never too late to get in on this pop-culture trend.
Barbenheimer Tickets (and Better Seats) Probably Are Easier To Find Now
It’s true that opening weekend was a surprising smash for Barbenheimer. If you hadn’t secured tickets early enough, chances are you missed out on the fun of Barbie and Oppenheimer running back to back. That likelihood is even greater if you’ve been trying to track down Christopher Nolan’s historical epic in its preferred IMAX 70mm format.
No matter how you enjoy these pictures in the wild, the next couple of weeks are definitely going to be crazy when trying to buy into Barbenheimer. Don’t give up though, because if you get to partake in this joyful occasion, it’s going to pay off in several other ways.
The Audience For Both Movies Makes For A Unique People-Watching Experience
Photos of people dressed for both Barbie and Oppenheimer have been so much fun to observe. Whether it’s someone decked out in their best pink ensemble, a dour black suit and hat, or a t-shirt combining the two in a satisfying mashup, people have been showing up in style for this monumental draw.
Now you may prefer one half over the other, as we saw with our own Erik Swann’s first hand account of the Barbenheimer experience. However, you’re not going to know until you actually take the ride for yourself. Also, even if you end up disliking or liking these movies on equal levels, being a part of this real world experience is a hell of a way to celebrate the movie theater experience.
Theatrical Double Features Like This Aren’t Very Common
The “double feature” isn’t a new experience, as it harkens back to the classic days of cinema. It’s as ingrained in the DNA of moviegoing as cartoon shorts, newsreels, and popcorn; and surviving drive-ins still do it. At your regular multiplex however, it’s a more manually driven experience, save for catch-up marathons that might play to promote newer movies.
As such, the box office tends to compete movie versus movie with the ticket buying public; as seen in the recently examined history of iconic movies that premiered on the same date. And yet, Barbie and Oppenheimer cracked that pattern by becoming a long standing meme. Sure, people started to joke about Barbenheimer long before it even had a name, but people committed to the bit eventually. Which, when you look at both movies, isn’t as crazy as you’d think.
Soundtracks Such As These Need To Be Heard In A Theater
Primarily we “watch” movies, so the visual aspect is something that clearly gets a lot of attention when marketing a film. Moving past that layer and appreciating things like costume design, performance, and even the music of a movie is something that more intense movie fans tend to focus on, in addition to said visuals. And if you're a music fan, both Barbie and Oppenheimer have reasons you should be excited to get to a local theater.
On one hand, the Barbie soundtrack is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the artists featured. Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and an Ice Spice/Nicki Minaj collab are just some of the highlights one can expect from that fantastic plastic world. However, if you needed one song to convince you to see this movie in theaters, it’s Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night.” It’s been in all the trailers, so you don’t need to listen to it again. Just trust me when I say that it sounds perfect in theatrical surround sound.
Flipping to the other side of this coin, Ludwig Göransson’s score to Oppenheimer captures everything from unholy dread to scientific awe. It propels an already gorgeous movie to greater heights, and certainly hammers the important parts into the film with the right gravity. So if you're looking for two movies that might make driving home a bit more exciting, look no further than this pair of soundtracks.
Barbenheimer Is A Supporting Performance Powerhouse (That The Oscars Should Reward)
One of the big similarities between both Barbie and Oppenheimer is the fact that audiences can’t stop talking about key supporting performances from both. With Barbie, Ryan Gosling’s Ken was a shoo-in to steal the spotlight, and he definitely lives up to those expectations.
Though the even more impressive scene stealer is America Ferrera, whose monologue about being a woman in the modern world has already captivated audiences in the post-release discourse. On that same wavelength Oppenheimer’s massive cast also showed potential for cast members to bring their A-game against Cillian Murphy’s sterling central performance.
While the whole lot do indeed stand shoulder to shoulder with Christopher Nolan’s lead, it’s Robert Downey Jr. that snuck in and delivered the goods as the MVP. So while you may be showing up for Murphy and Margot Robbie’s front and center protagonists, be prepared to be wowed by some other key players in these separate universes. Think of it as getting more bang for your buck.
Barbie And Oppenheimer Are Kind Of Perfect Together
Superficially, the hyper colorful world of Barbie and the haunting world of Oppenheimer look like a pair that would not go together. Who would realistically expect Greta Gerwig’s examination of feminism/tribute to cinema to pair with Christopher Nolan’s sobering biopic about atomic physics? Look a little closer though, and you can see one common thread links these two movies in a special way.
Through both of these creation-themed stories, one can experience a reckoning with the intentions behind each gadget, and the effects it had on society at large. Barbie inspired young women just as Oppenheimer’s atomic bomb inspired humanity, with both inventions becoming double edged legacies we’re still talking about today.
Of course, Barbie ends on a more positive note than the chillingly unique ending to Oppenheimer. So if you do book yourself into the Barbenheimer experience, it’s recommended you see the historical epic first, then calm down with some neon colored introspective comedy. Should you choose to follow that suggestion or not, both films are currently showing at a theater near you.'

BPP, since you're talking about it, plus explain why so many K-pop fans that got into K-pop through BTS dislike them so much after??
**
Hi Anon,
I imagine it’s similar to how people become antis of specific members and could be down to a whole host of things. Based on what I’ve seen, it’s these three things:
1. Dashed expectations
2. A bad experience in the fandom
3. Social influence or bandwagoning
I’ve said before that k-pop offers up the veneer of perfection but is actually extremely messy, cut-throat, and filled with distinct Korean cultural markers that could seem to Western foreigners as odd at best and stupid/deplorable in the worst case. Since BTS has the widest and furthest global reach, many of the people who get into k-pop through BTS are complete k-pop noobs who have no understanding of the history of the genre/industry, much less BTS’s history within the wider context of k-pop, and once those people get past the honeymoon phase they get to see how the sausage is really made… and they hate it. Lol.
Basically, the perfect expectations they have of BTS aren’t met because duh, and while I think this happens for practically everyone and is actually a good and expected thing, for certain types of people it kickstarts a chain reaction where they remain in k-pop spaces, absorb all kinds of narratives but can’t let go of BTS in some way or other. Something I've noticed since being into k-pop for (too many) years is that nobody who has ever come into contact with anything related to BTS has ever been able to stop keeping up with them. Not one. I've said before that Jimin is the perfect microcosm of everything BTS is, so they're the og 'once you Jimin you can't Jimout'. The BTS equivalent isn't as pretty syntax-wise, but you get the idea. So like a toxic ex-boyfriend who knows the relationship isn’t working for him anymore and even if he has a new boy/girlfriend, he can’t seem to stop Googling his ex, keeping up with what they’re doing. Maybe they shared a pet before breaking up and he uses that as the excuse to keep up with whatever his ex is up to. This might seem like a dramatic comparison to make after all we're just discussing music and fans and it's not that deep, but k-pop is different. Anybody who has made a fan account is already in too deep there's no point acting coy about it. So yeah, the way some people respond to unmet expectations is anger and/or dislike directed at the subject that failed to meet those expectations.
Another reason is bad experiences within the fandom, and the places you're guaranteed to have bad experiences are shooter, shipper, and solo stan spaces. Like if you're exposed to any of these spaces for a long period of time, just the mention of the word 'ARMY' is likely enough to induce vomit. In my opinion. I've seen worse behaviour from other fandoms at significantly bigger scales and in other generations, but the sort that has found its way into this fandom is ugly and self-destructive. So far the majority of this fandom has kept these factions in check, but lol, everything trends towards entropy hence the byline of this blog.
The third reason is banwagonning. A lot of people are very easily influenced by what people around them think. It's not always a bad thing, but sometimes it works in favour of BTS and other times it accomplishes the opposite effect. As BTS has become so big the group has eclipsed k-pop as a whole, reception to BTS from the wider k-pop space has become increasingly antagonistic, given the competitive nature of the space. So while people might discover k-pop through BTS, what they’ll also discover over time is that an overwhelming amount of k-pop stans have millions of reasons to hate BTS. So for the sorts of people who got into BTS because they thought BTS is popular, once getting into k-pop and entering an environment where BTS and fans of BTS are hated, these sorts of people are more likely to be influenced into disliking BTS.

Ok, so it's obvious you love Beast Wars, but what about other series? Earthspark? Cyberverse? Prime? Robots in Disguise 2015? IDW 2005-2018?
I grew up primarily on Transformers Animated and, alas, the Bayverse, the latter of which I think was my first proper introduction to the franchise; Though I do have VERY faint recollections of previous series, particularly Armada and its keys...
I only really knew those from their toys, though I do remember a clip from an Armada CD; I had Cybertron Longrack, as well as Armada Excellion vs Thundercracker, and Skyshadow; Not to mention the Robots in Disguise Deluxe Mirage with that color-changing sticker. There was Deep Space Starscream from the Movie lineup, and Fast Action Battlers Jazz.
I have fond memories of my cousin’s Deluxe Scorponok and RotF Soundwave, whom I envied; The latter toy I remember him pitting against my own, particularly my Bionicles, and the constant fights and back-and-forth of Soundwave becoming a good guy, just to be a bad guy again, etc. We wanted to reap the fun of either scenario.
Then Animated Lugnut, whom with Thok from Bionicle have the same story for me; Originally I got someone ELSE from their line, but a factory defect meant I had to return it, and settle for a different character. In my case, I originally chose Animated Starscream, but then his head popped off and wouldn’t come back on, hence the switch to Lugnut. I also had Animated Oil Slick and a McDonalds version of Animated Bumblebee.
Regrettably, I’ve lost ALL of these toys over time, not sure how. But yeah, I had toys from the Unicron Trilogy and a distant memory of watching a CD that came packaged with a clip from the show of Armada Jetfire; Otherwise, the Michael Bay films were my introduction, followed by Animated, which I DID watch all of! I remember as a kid being frustrated by the loose ends of Animated’s finale, so finding out the show was actually cancelled explained a lot; As a kid, Blurr’s death traumatized me, but hearing he survived and would’ve recovered was a relief.
Ultimately, my knowledge of any other series besides the Bayverse, Animated, Beast Wars (and technically Knightverse) is solely through cultural osmosis, some dives into the TFwiki (was surprised yet amused as a kid at its snarkiness), and Chris McFeely’s guides on Transformers characters throughout the ages. Before that I also remember watching the first three or so episodes of G1 on Netflix (getting to see the source material for the Bay films and how removed they were was a surprise), and years later, various clips of G1 on Youtube as well; I also watched the original 1986 animated film, and the episode where a human girl has a crush on Powerglide.
As someone who DIDN’T grow up with G1 and thus can’t be accused of a nostalgia bias... Tbh, I really do find it THAT good, but I might just be influenced by the bandwagon. I just think it’s really funny and find a lot of the designs charming, and the ‘86 movie is legitimately raw and well-written. I watched Bumblebee Movie opening month, was disillusioned like a lot of people by the Bayverse, only to be astounded by the first trailer and stoked by the transformations of Bumblebee and Blitzwing, which felt very toy-esque and whom I could actually keep track of!
In general, I remember sort of falling off of Transformers after Dark of the Moon... But then @ganymedesclock started watching Animated, which reignited my curiosity. This led me to revisit the series, as well as the Transformers franchise in general; And that led to a DEEP rabbithole that’s culminated in me going through all of Beast Wars, naming and understanding the toys I had as a kid (and desiring them again with the context of what their characters were like).
It also led me to getting a couple of toys from the Studio Series line, particularly the Constructicons. Sue me, I think the Bayverse designs and films have SOME artistic merit, even if it’s largely garbage, they’re kind of a guilty pleasure at times, and the toys have a necessary simplicity that makes the aesthetic easier to digest. And like everyone else, the ideas of a rewrite, and/or my own Transformers continuity, have taken root in my head.

Bluetick Coonhound Dog & 6 Facts Should You Know!
Find out where Bluetick Coonhound dog breeds come from, how they look, what they are like as people, and what common health problems they have. Find out why early training and socialization are important, how to do it, and the most common behavior problems. Find out what they eat, how much exercise they need, how they should be cared for and kept clean, how they breed and have babies, and how they are portrayed in pop culture.
Introduction
The Bluetick Coonhound is a type of dog that was first used to hunt raccoons and other small animals in the United States. The name of the breed comes from the blue-black ticking on its coat.
Bluetick Coonhounds range in size from medium to large. They have strong, muscular bodies and a very good sense of smell. They are known for being friendly and loyal, and as long as they get the right training and socialization, they make great family pets.
It can be hard to train a Bluetick Coonhound because they are so independent, but it is important that they are well-behaved and listen to you. Consistent training and methods that give positive feedback are suggested.
A Bluetick Coonhound needs to be groomed regularly to keep their coat in good shape and prevent skin problems. They also need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. They also need to see a vet regularly to make sure their health and well-being as a whole.
A quick look at Bluetick Coonhound
The Bluetick Coonhound is a type of dog that comes from the U.S. Their name comes from their blue and black ticked coat, which makes them easy to recognize. These hounds were originally bred to hunt small animals, especially raccoons. They still have strong instincts and skills for hunting.
They are smart, friendly, and loyal dogs that make great pets for active families who like to do things outside. But because they have a lot of energy and a strong need to hunt, they need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to keep them from getting bored and doing bad things.
Why they are such a well-liked breed
I'll answer this question if you want to know about a popular breed of animal.
There are many things that could make a breed popular, such as:
Appearance: People are often attracted to breeds that look nice and stand out.
Temperament: Breeds that are friendly, loyal, and easy-going tend to be popular because they make great family pets.
Trainability: Dogs like Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds that are smart and easy to train are popular with dog owners.
Some breeds are popular because they were made to do a certain job, like herding or hunting.
Popularity Bias: Sometimes, a breed's popularity is due to the "bandwagon effect," which is when people choose it just because it is already popular.
Overall, there are a lot of things that affect how popular a breed is, and it's different for each person.
History
The Bluetick Coonhound is a type of dog that was first found in the southern part of the United States. It was first made so that it could hunt raccoons and other small animals. The history of the breed goes back to the 18th century, when European hunting dogs were brought to the United States and bred with local dogs.
Bluetick Coonhounds are known for their unique blue and black mottled coats, as well as their strong sense of smell and determination when hunting. They are smart and loyal dogs that need to be trained and socialized consistently from a young age.
A Bluetick Coonhound needs regular exercise, a well-balanced diet, and regular visits to the vet. They are more likely to get hip dysplasia and ear infections, so it's important to keep a close eye on their health. Overall, the Bluetick Coonhound is a well-liked and useful hunting dog in the United States.
Where the breed came from
Origins of the breed refers to the history and ancestry of an animal or plant that has been bred to have certain desirable traits over time. Most breeds can be traced back to their first written records, which may include information about the breed's original purpose, where it came from, and famous ancestors.
Different species, like dogs, horses, cattle, and crops, have developed different breeds because of things like climate, terrain, and human interference. Understanding where a breed came from can give you important information about its traits and behavior, as well as help you make decisions about how to breed it today to improve or keep its genetic diversity and overall health.
What Makes the Bluetick Coonhound Different from Other Coonhounds
Bluetick Coonhounds are different from other types of Coonhounds in a number of ways. First of all, Bluetick Coonhounds have a unique ticked coat pattern that is blue and black. Last but not least, Bluetick Coonhounds are known for their loud, baying howls, which they use to tell their human friends that they have found something to eat. Other Coonhound breeds may make sounds like barks, yelps, or something else.
Overall, all Coonhound breeds have some things in common, like loving to hunt and track, but Bluetick Coonhounds stand out because of their unique look, size, ability to track, and sounds.

Lifespan
Lifespan is the amount of time an organism can live, usually from birth until it dies.
The Bluetick Coonhound is a type of dog that was first found in the south of the United States. It was made to hunt raccoons and other small game, as its name suggests. The breed is known for its unique black and blue ticking on its coat.
Bluetick Coonhounds are very active and need to be physically and mentally stimulated on a regular basis. They are also known for being loyal and loving to their owners, but they may be shy or wary around strangers. This breed needs to be trained and socialized because they can be stubborn and independent.
The best way to take care of a Bluetick Coonhound is to brush and bathe it regularly and take it to the vet for regular checkups and shots. To keep their physical and mental health in good shape, it is also important to feed them well and give them a lot of exercise.
The average life span of a Bluetick Coonhound is 11 to 12 years, but some may live longer with good care.
Most health problems
Common health issues are diseases or conditions that affect a large number of people in a population. Common health problems include respiratory infections like the flu and colds, allergies, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, mental health disorders like anxiety and depression, and musculoskeletal problems like back pain.
These health problems can be caused by a number of things, such as genes, the environment, lifestyle choices, and getting older. To lower the risk of getting these common health problems, it's important to do things like eat well, exercise regularly, and see a doctor when you need to.
Training and getting to know people
Training and socialization is the process of teaching and preparing people, usually in a group, with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need for a certain job or role.
Training programs can include classroom lessons, training on the job, simulations, and other ways to learn by doing. The goal is to improve performance and productivity and make sure that the rules and policies of the organization are followed.
On the other hand, socialization is the process of adapting to the social norms and values of a group or society. This can include learning about the community's customs, ways of talking to each other, and expected behaviors. In the workplace, socialization often means introducing new employees to their coworkers and mentors and helping them understand the organization's expectations and values.
Effective training and socialization programs can make employees more interested in their jobs, happier at work, and more likely to stay with the company. They are also important for promoting diversity and inclusion, making sure that legal and ethical standards are met, and building a good culture within an organization.
Early training and socialization are important
Animals, especially domesticated ones like dogs and cats, need to be trained and socialized from a young age. During this important time, which usually lasts from 3 to 14 weeks, animals can learn important skills and habits that will affect how they act for the rest of their lives.
When animals are socialized properly, they learn how to act around people and other animals in a safe and appropriate way. This means they have to learn how to talk, play, and act in different situations. Early training can also help set up good habits and stop bad ones from coming up later.
Without early training and socialization, animals may become afraid of people or other animals or act aggressively toward them. This can lead to bad or even dangerous behavior. When these problems become a part of an animal's behavior, it can be much harder to fix them.
Overall, animals need early training and socialization if they are to be healthy and be able to live safely and happily with people.
Recommended ways to train
Methods of training that are recommended depend on the goals and needs of the person or group being trained. But hands-on practice, simulations, role-playing, group discussions, and e-learning platforms are all good ways to learn. It's important to use a variety of training methods and check on how well the program is working on a regular basis.
Problems with behavior that are common and how to deal with them
Aggression, anxiety, disobedience, and destructive behavior are all examples of common behavior problems. To deal with these problems, it is important to figure out why the behavior is happening and come up with a good plan for changing it.
For example, if a dog is being aggressive toward people or other animals, it may be helpful to talk to a professional trainer or behaviorist to find out why (such as fear or territoriality) and make a training plan to change the behavior.
In cases of anxiety, it may be necessary to give the person more time with other people, more exercise, or a more interesting environment to lower stress levels. In severe cases, a veterinarian may also need to give the animal medicine.
Most of the time, disobedience can be fixed with consistent training and positive reinforcement techniques, like giving treats or praise for good behavior.
Boredom or anxiety can lead to destructive behavior, which can be fixed by giving the pet more exercise and mental stimulation and making sure it has the right toys and places to chew and dig.
Overall, dealing with common behavior problems requires patience, consistency, and knowledge of the needs and personality of each animal. In more complicated situations, it may also be helpful to talk to a professional.
Taking care of things
Care and Maintenance is the process of cleaning and maintaining an object or system on a regular basis to make sure it works well and lasts a long time. This can be used for a wide range of things, including cars, appliances, machinery, and even clothing and jewelry.
Care and maintenance can include things like cleaning, oiling, lubricating, adjusting, repairing, and, if necessary, replacing parts. Proper care and maintenance can keep things from breaking down or getting into accidents too soon and save time and money in the long run.
Needs for food
Dietary needs are an organism's specific nutritional needs that must be met by what it eats. The Bluetick Coonhound is a type of dog that comes from the U.S. and is known for being a good hunter. To keep their energy up and health in good shape, they need a balanced diet with high-quality protein, healthy fats, and carbs.
It is best to feed them food that is right for their age, weight, and level of activity. Also, Bluetick Coonhound owners should make sure that their dogs always have plenty of clean water.
The Bluetick Coonhound has a long history and strong instincts to hunt. In the early 1900s, they were made in the south of the United States so that people could hunt small game, especially raccoons. People know these dogs by their unique blue and black coats, as well as by their strong sense of smell and ability to hunt.
Bluetick Coonhounds can be stubborn and independent, so it takes time and consistency to train them. Punishment-based training can have a bad effect on their behavior, so positive reinforcement is recommended. It's also important for this breed's health to get regular exercise and keep its mind active.
The best way to take care of a Bluetick Coonhound is to groom it regularly and take it to the vet for regular checkups to look for and treat any health problems. Owners should also give their dogs a safe place to go outside, since it's in their nature to roam and look around.
Requirements for exercise
Exercise requirements are the amount and type of physical activity that people need to stay healthy and fit or get healthier and fitter overall. Specific exercise needs can change based on age, gender, current fitness level, and underlying health conditions, among other things.
Adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise per week, along with muscle-strengthening activities on two or more days per week. Children and teens should be active for at least an hour a day at a moderate to vigorous level.
Before starting a new exercise program, it's important to talk to a doctor or nurse, especially if you already have health problems or worries. To avoid getting hurt and get the most out of physical activity, it's also important to choose exercises that are right for your fitness level and needs.
Personal care and hygiene
Grooming is the process of keeping one's body clean, taking care of it, and making it look better. This could include things like taking a shower, brushing their teeth, styling their hair, and putting on makeup or skincare products. Grooming is often done for comfort, cleanliness, and to make a good impression on other people.
Hygiene, on the other hand, is a set of habits and practices that help keep your body healthy and stop the spread of disease. This includes things like washing your hands often, keeping your living space clean, and getting rid of trash the right way. Keeping clean is important for your health and well-being as a whole.
Breeding and Having Children
Breeding is the process of making animals or plants with desirable traits have more of the same kind of offspring. It means picking parents with certain desirable traits and controlling how they get together to get the result you want.
On the other hand, reproduction is the biological process by which organisms make babies. Depending on the species, it can happen either through mating or without mating. Sexual reproduction usually happens when the gametes of two parents join together. Asexual reproduction, on the other hand, happens when offspring are made without the gametes of two parents.

How the breed is shown in the media
"Representation of the breed in media" means how a certain breed of animal, like a dog or cat, is shown in different kinds of media, like TV shows, movies, books, and ads. The way the breed is shown can have a big effect on how people feel about it, which can affect how many people adopt the animals and how they treat them.
For example, if a breed of dog is shown in the media to be aggressive or dangerous over and over again, it may get a bad name and fewer people will want to adopt it or treat it well. On the other hand, a breed's positive traits, like being loyal and friendly, can make it more appealing, which can lead to more adoptions and better care.

Review the most important points
I get it, no problem. Here is a quick summary of the main points:
I'm asked to give a short answer without repeating the question or saying I'm sorry.
I shouldn't talk about myself or my skills. Instead, I should just give the information that was asked for.
The answer should be clear and to the point, and it should be written in English.
The question asks for a summary of the most important points.

Buy U A What?
I have long been a proponent of nostalgia as a marketing tool. It is one of the most powerful of human emotions, and typically intensifies as the person ages. After all, they’ve got (I mean, I’ve got) a lot of mileage on this vehicle, and the rear view stretches farther than what I’m seeing through the windshield. As we age, these nostalgic yearnings are opportunities to relive—and retell—the story of our life.
By definition, nostalgia is “a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.” There are variations on this, such as “hireath,” which is the desire to return to a place and time we previously experienced, and “anemoia,” pertaining to a desire to go back to a time and place we never experienced. That would be like me saying I would love to time-travel to the 1950s in Southern California, to see LA before it became a traffic-snarled, crime-ridden mess.
As we discussed not long ago, the Rolling Stones licensed “Start Me Up” to Keurig for their Father’s Day new product stunt, but as it turns out that was the third time this year they have partnered with advertisers. Back in March, they lent the same song to Applebees, and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” to promote new episodes of Ted Lasso. Not that the Stones need the money, mind you.
But sampling is one thing. There’s another trend afoot with old tunes, and that is remixing. Numerous advertisers have jumped on this bandwagon, often twisting and rewriting song lyrics to support the brand specifically. For example, Wendy’s leveraged T-Pain’s “Buy U A Drank” to become “Buy U A Frosty.”

Go ahead and cringe. I did.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, and more proof that I am even older than I thought, is that the latest efforts are to infuse nostalgic thoughts among Millennials and Gen-Zers, using songs they likely remember from their youth. Sheesh, I was already 48 when the original was released.
Some might worry that there are so many marketers doing this now that they are at risk of trivializing their advertising efforts, and, in some cases, making people cringe like I did. And then there are the critics alleging that artists are selling out. To those buttercups, I say “Suck it up. Don’t you wish you had a hit song to milk?”
As in all advertising, though, it’s all about engagement, and the more you can make a brand relevant to your target, and also hit on some great pop culture touchstones along the way, the more likely you are to make sales. If young people can connect T-Pain with going to Wendy’s, then the Wendy’s folks just struck gold. You get the idea.
There’s risk not just to the marketer, though, because the artist stands to win or lose as well. If the connection is too much of a stretch either lyrically, musically, or even personally, then the artist’s luster could tarnish too. This explains why Rage Against The Machine will probably never have an advertising partnership, with the possible exception of the NRA riffing on “They rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells.” Never mind that if RATM did that, it would be a sell-out of the highest order.
You get the idea there, too.
The fact that Gen-Zers and Millennials are feeling those nostalgic pangs is mere testimony that time is flying by, but nostalgia never really changes. It’s just the object of that nostalgia, and in some cases, there’s that anemoia-like wish to experience the era of their parents and grandparents, just as I wish to see the 1950s.
Of course, I could tell my kids all about the 60s and 70s, but maybe we’re all better off letting the marketers spin this story in their own way, because it is all happy talk in the end. No Viet Nam War, no Iranian hostage crisis, no drugs, no protests, no Three Mile Island, no cult suicides.
Play that funky music, yo, and let’s put smiles on faces. We have stuff to sell.

Chris Jericho x Fem Reader- "Bench Press"
I hope people reading this fanfiction won't be offended by it, so viewer discretion is advised.
______________________________________________________________
1999 was the year the World Wrestling Federation was arguably at its most crash TV-like, especially during the Attitude era.
What is crash TV?
Television programs that show controversial, shocking, sometimes horrifying content.
"The Jerry Springer Show" was considered crash TV, maybe even cartoons like "Drawn Together", "South Park", "Mr. Pickles", "Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon" and even the 90's "Ren and Stimpy" that aired on Nickelodeon and MTV are "crash TV".
Because the Attitude era was going on around the same time other shock value pop culture was at the height of its popularity, of course the World Wrestling Federation rode on the shock value pop culture bandwagon.
And 1999 was filled with nothing but crash TV in the WWF.
Owen Hart entering the ring which would lead to his death (which some people didn't know if it was a storyline or for real), Terri Runnels' miscarriage, Al Snow forced to eat his dead dog, the Big Bossman being hanged by a noose, the Rock slamming Davey Boy Smith's back into a pile of dog shit, Beaver Cleavage (an incestuous "Leave it To Beaver" parody), Mark Henry admitting he lost his virginity to his sister as well as saying he had sex with her 2 days before a therapy session, Stephanie McMahon getting raped by D Generation X, Triple H beating a snake, the list goes on and on.
Owen was probably not meant to die on purpose, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did.
After being in a family friendly wrestling company in the late 1990's (WCW), Chris Jericho finally made his welcome debut in the World Wrestling Federation in August of 1999.
On a "Monday Night Raw" episode in October of 1999, Chris Jericho had captured you and placed you in the locker room, where you were sitting stark naked on top of a bench with your legs wide open and your feet and wrists tied.
Now, your ankles and wrists weren't tied to each other, but they were tied up with rope.
The rope tied around your wrists and ankles were attached to the bench he tied you to.
When you were shown sitting naked, the camera was filming you above the waist and censoring your naked breasts with pixilation covering them.
Several male fans----both underage boys and grown men---got out of their seats and cheered when they saw you topless, many of these male fans whistled, whereas Jerry Lawler exclaimed "Puppies!", which was Attitude era slang for a woman's breasts.
Chris, however, was standing next to you with his long hair hanging down and he hadn't grown a lot of facial hair yet.
There was a little sign made of cardboard sitting next to the bench you were sitting on that read "Free Fuck And Suck" written in visible black Sharpie marker, the sign was referring to you,  and the sign was shown on screen but the word "fuck" was blurred out.
"Step right up, one and all!" Chris announced while he stood next to you, placing one of his hands on your shoulder. "This nymphomaniac is here for either a free fuck and/or suck!"
Chris pointed his index finger on his other hand at you when he stated how you're there for a free fuck and/or suck.
When Chris said "fuck", the word was bleeped out on television.
"You can either fuck her, she'll give you head or even both!" Chris added. "She'll even give you a good handjob!"
Again, the word "fuck" was bleeped out on television.
"Doesn't she just have the perfect big lips of a blowup doll?" Chris asked while his hand was underneath your chin, the camera zooming in on your head and Chris' head, filming you above your neck. "You can even suck and play with her tits if you want!"
The word "tits" was bleeped out on TV.
Male fans got out of their seats and cheered when Chris asked if you have perfect blowup doll, many fans even laughed over Chris saying that.
"Can I be the first in line?" Jerry Lawler asked.
"Cum all over her face and her tits!" Chris exclaimed. "The Godfather might have the hoe train, but you can run a train on his HOE!"
Chris pointed at you as he was talking about you.
The audience got out of their seats and cheered for Chris when he said that.
"Oh, will you stop that!" Jim Ross said in disgust off camera.
"What's the matter?" Chris asked you, his eyes looking at your face. "I thought you're a nymphomaniac who has sex with anybody!"
Yeah, your character/gimmick you play might be a nymphomaniac and a slut, but you won't have sex with everybody.
"I should take her outside and tie her wrists and ankles to a bench at a park while she sits naked with her legs spread out!" Chris suggested and exclaimed.
Some fans got out of their seats and cheered for Chris when he said that, especially male fans.
"So whaddya have to say about that?" Chris asked you smugly.
Your head was turned to looking at him with this furious look on your face, where you spit at him.
Some fans---especially female fans---cheered for you when you did that.
"I thought you swallowed!" Chris exclaimed, which made many male fans cheer for  him and laugh. "Let me be the first in line for a fuck!"
The word "fuck" was censored on television when he said that.
Chris turned his body sideways until his back was turned in front of the camera, where one of his hands turned your head towards his crotch.
His other hand slid down his tights and pretended to pull his dick out, where he implied to make you suck his penis.
Chris Jericho is sexy AF, and you actually were happy with sucking his cock and looked like you were giving him a blowjob.
As you appeared to pretend to look like you were giving him oral sex, the guitar riff to Slam Jam's "We're All Together Now" played.
Chris stood there with a smirk on his face while you pretended to give him head, but his facial expression wasn't captured and filmed.
He was filmed from behind his back while you looked like you were sucking his dick.
You being completely naked and tied to a bench so other wrestlers can fuck you seems like something the Big Bossman or Jeff Jarrett in 1999 would do.
The Big Bossman was the heel from hell in 1999, doing things like kidnapping people's pet dogs and then making someone eat it and stealing a casket at a funeral with a dead person in it.
Jeff Jarrett played a misogynistic asshole in 1999 that believed women belonged in the kitchen.
Had Brian Pillman still been alive in 1998 and 1999, no doubt he probably would've sat you on a bench naked and tied your feet and hands with rope while your legs are wide out so other people can fuck you.
To think in the year 2000, the World Wrestling Federation would arguably tone down the crash TV partially due to Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara leaving the company, just one year after its most shocking year ever.
______________________________________________________________
This fanfiction was inspired by a picture I found where someone Photoshopped Susanne Sommers as Chrissy Snow on "Three's Company"'s head onto a naked woman's body, and that naked woman was sitting on a bench with her hands and feet tied to that bench while her legs were wide open, and there was a little sign that read "free fuck or suck!" spray painted on that bench.

Louies posting about Freddie holding up a sign when it was actually a fan… and fantasizing that Louis was crying over it… equally pathetic. ///
I wanted to reply to that earlier comment about louies taking it too far so here it is!!
we will never be privy to the information about what actually happened in louis' life during 2015-17. The one thing we can be sure of is louis was unhappy. He was trying to joke and be cool during the last of one d but he definitely was not happy, was agitated constantly. His personal life took some unexpected drastic changes+ he had freddie. The media and tabloid coverage about the baby was really really bad. 2017 especially was a terrible time he had a perpetually sad look on his face all the time.
What we do know now/LA night 1:
Through out the whole american leg louis was happy, smiley, giggly. LA - he was happy, a lot more, one step ahead. A proud glow on his face. His absolute best friend oli, was too kind and loving to Freddie. Louis said I love you to F many times, genuinely delighted to have his son there.
As a fan, that made me realise all this time I haven't cared (shouldn't care) about anything other than louis feeling confident, joyful and successful in the way he deserves. Fans are being manipulated everyday by pop culture. we spend our time in the fandom fighting others (like people who this louis is straight and happy with Eleanor vs people who don't). But all that fades away when there's a smiley louis skipping on stage, singing beautifully.
Louies are questionable too -
a group thinks Eleanor is great
some hate otb project cuz it's forcing the gay on louis (pardon my words I'm just quoting)
some don't like to fact check and beleive nonsense like above sign thing and create scenarios
And so on. But everyone's end game is louis' music. It's hard to focus only on music and be a fan of an artist in today's hollywood celeb culture. Fandoms expect drama, gossip about the ex, easter eggs to facilitate theories because they want to feel closer to their favs. (this is only the sane fans absolutely not larries. For eg, swifities knowing that all too well is a sad break up song about her relationship with jake and even 10 years later they're not letting go of it, however embarassing that might be for ts and jake).
Before tour started I used to think about a lot- what if the universe were not cruel and the promo went along after tou and walls came out as a summer album as planned? Would that have been promoted more because hs2 was not in line? But would that mean we won't have had songs like kmm on walls ? So many questions with no answers.
I feel a bit sad that it took LA night one for me to truly realise and accept that I don't have to be right about everything and most things I think might have happened in louis' life might be far away from reality.
Louies are the perfect alternative for larries only because louies' primary focus is Louis the musician. You can't compare or equate them (us) to larries because larries don't care if he's successful or not, they don't even know his lyrics. Otherwise louies are not perfect and everyone don't have the same "vision"
They jumped the bandwagon with the sign yes, cuz someone in the audience said Freddie had a sign and it looks like he made it himself because of the juvenile handwriting. This assumption is not harmful to louis nor does it make them pathetic. It definitely is not harmful like larries replying with theories under the new RS guy's tweet asking about the pride flags in louis' concert. So no there's no equal comparison between louies and larries.
Well. I think having open dialogues is fine, but not at the expense of my own intelligence. I am not going to think “some reach is okay because it’s not as harmful.” When something is proven not factual, then it’s not factual. Sorry but that’s the way it is.

I’m a mild fan of amphibia, and I understand your opinions, but it’s kind of crazy to me that it’s disappeared from your online experience. Like obviously I know I follow people who post about it, but I see it absolutely everywhere. It’s like one of the top 5 most popular cartoons right now. Crazy /lh
oh that's funny! I used to be super up to date on pop culture and cartoons especially, but I guess I kinda fell off the bandwagon a few years back and then just never really got back on. I still love cartoons and try new ones frequently, I'm just completely removed from the attached communities haha
but yeah amphibia has completely fallen out of my social sphere while owl house and miraculous ladybug are following me around like sharks smelling blood. I'm ambivalent-leaning-on-bitter about owl house and I feel nothing but malice towards ladybug, so the fact that I have to learn to live with those two but haven't heard a peep out of amphibia for many months says a lot?? wonder how that came to be
makes me wonder how ongoing cartoons I actually like are faring. is anyone else still devoting at least an hour every day to staring into space and thinking about bee and puppycat

Hiiiiii, I rly like your writing X3 I was wondering if you’d answer this question: What is your interpretation of what SEGA is doing with SonAmy as of right now? Seems like it’s becoming more and more canon. I know you’ve done similar question before, but could you maybe just answer this for 2021? Thanks!💖💙
No problem! And thank you, lovely Anon~<3 I love writing for the feels~ But also for the accuracy to be as close as possible if I can manage it! First of all, they’ve always been canon? Maybe not ‘in-world dating’ canon but canon in the sense that they are a official SEGA advertised couple since the get-go.
Tumblr media
Amy was created to literally be in the slot of ‘Sonic’s Girlfriend’ where she had feelings for Sonic and always a fun mystery as to decipher Sonic’s subtle ‘returned caring’ for her.
Tumblr media
As for 2021 we are so FREAKIN’ HAPPY to hear that SEGA is FINALLY marketing the two and VISUALLY SEEING the sales of their ‘couple shirts’ and the like make some profit. Furthermore, we have long-time fans and professionals in the careers within SEGA also vocalizing that they don’t mind the couple and even support it. With less emphasis on the ‘fandom fanatics’ of the raging past and more so on the fantastic marketability and popularity the couple brings to SEGA’s exposing their main IP, it’s become almost common ground to expect more and more people liking romantic and suggested romantic couples in all ranging medias.
Tumblr media
We need also mention the alarming rate of the worrisome numbers in Japan recently. Conducted studies have shown that most of Japan’s population is elderly, and in the very near future (About 5 years or so) a good chuck of Japan’s population will die. This means the Japanese Government is promoting more and more companies within both entertainment, advertising, etc. to be more ‘promoting family’ in their media. Japan needs more babies! And guess what?
Tumblr media
Mario Odyssey comes out with a completely ‘Wedding themed’ video game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dramatic romantic underlying's in Zelda’s new game.
Tumblr media
Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s focus on romantic underlying’s along with Cloud willingly saying (English version) “Do I have any say in this?” As though to fight the idea that romance can’t happen and-
Tumblr media
Kingdom Hearts 3′s romantic underlying that literally has a song (Japanese) talking about rings and getting married called “Chikai” or also ‘Oath’ that in English is rewritten to a romantic song about going deeper into love called “Don’t Think Twice” but literally has the two ‘making their fates intertwined’ in a symbol of ‘romantic intentions’ such as marriage or even just fidelity in a relationship.
So? How does all this influence the latest Sonamy supersonic boom we’ve seen in the media recently?
Although Sonic is his own character, he’s also only 15 (But as many of you have seen in Anime, Japanese ages of appropriateness are different then our own cultures and societies) we see faint glimpses. In the mostly American-made Sonic Boom t.v series, the comedic moments of Sonic and Amy are very much to a genre of American audiences and how we view ‘funny love’ should normally be marketed as. (I don’t always agree with what they say, but that’s how they’re trained and believe the ‘trends’ go... so ... can’t argue with professionals? Eh? -I personally think they’re outdated *cough cough*)
Sonic is not one to express feelings in overly dramatic ways which is common place in American television and media, but he’s also got a ‘boy’s heart’ which means we won’t see a lot of things from him BESIDES ‘romantic underlyings’ that are probably going to be initiated and themed mostly and primarily in Amy Rose’s character (If at all shown or expressed.)
For these reasons, I believe SEGA is just hopping on the bandwagon and doing what they’re told, while also following the latest trends that the other big fellow companies are making a significant profit on. I know we wish and want SEGA to be ‘special’ in how they think, but they really are just a company that is trying to survive and outlast the competition.
It’s sad to think that way, especially when SEGA used to be so creative and always influencing the next best thing but that was YEARS ago and they’ve learned to tread water since then...
Tumblr media
(Goku being a grandfather emphasizes family in this particular scene where they take his granddaughter before a big tournament fight to a fair/festival. We see Goku with his family too, or at least, a successful son with his wife and daughter, spending time with his Father-In-Law, and the like.)
We see it in Dragon Ball emphasizing family, we see it in more romance-themed animes (and those that have only recently done romance, when they--for the longest part--never indulged in such things before or previously) and we now see more japanese games and media centralized around that.
What does that mean for Sonamy? Hopefully good things! Because if you buy the merch, they’ll produce more content. It’s a basic ‘supply and demand’ formula. If the demand (meaning how much you spend and want Sonic and Amy couple merch) goes up, then they have to supply to keep their business afloat. If they don’t they sink, but that DOES NOT MEAN TO BE AGRESSIVE. It means just support when they do something you like, and positively, kindly mention what you liked and wish to see more of if the future allows. No one reads aggressive writing unless, they too--wish to be aggressive back.
SEGA’s had issues with aggressiveness before, please let them see that couples in the sonic world won’t have a negative impact on their branding with irrational and bad-media frenzies. (Now, after saying this, I know people will start to do just that, don’t feed fire with fire, just let the fire burn till it has nothing left to consume, and carry on happily posting fanart or fanstories of what you love. Ignore to extinguish, which is what SEGA will do to Sonic shipping fans if we don’t act somewhat reasonably, okay?)
My predictions are such: 1. Amy’s crush will sadly lessen in impact and become more of a novelty, something that is treasured when moments arise to reveal her crush on Sonic, which in my opinion, is not her personality, but due to the heavy influence of women’s portrayal (Especially in America) being overemphasized and not done well, this is how they will try and combat it... (No one does this right and you shouldn’t base a characters solely on political reasonings...) 2. Sonic will have moments of caring for Amy or doing something sweet that can and probably will be interpreted as ‘a couple moment’ but he’ll remain mostly about other things, and the ‘underlying romance’ will have to come through Amy Rose’s character. 3. SEGA will loosen some rules after seeing more and more of the productivity and trend associated with marketing romance, and to keep up with demand and growing times, will finally let small moments emerge between the two, but the fandom will not be satisficed since we will now be desensitized to overly avert demure and oblivious stereotropes that will date their characters. and won’t allow them to proceed smoothly into the new area of customers and audiences.
Children are becoming extremely observant and aware. They are clever, and they always have been. It’s time to market to Children and Young Adults, not babies.
My ways to avoid this, predictions 1: New employees will surface that will start to get a name and reputation in the Sonic Fandom, along with youtube and internet stars who will influence certain marketing schemes (as is starting to appear now, and I feel will be just like ‘star marketing’ or ‘influencers’ that will be popularized in fandoms that companies will slightly make use of.) that will encourage new ideas and bring about a sudden ‘boom’ not expected. (Especially after the lull of the pandemic, I feel there will be an abundance of things happening in the upcoming years... but nothing right now, unfortunately, but at least they’re forced to focus on working on things instead of just releasing to keep up with other companies.)--In other words, they will incorporate new blood with the old, and they will lead Sonic’s IP into a ton of nostalgia and new beginnings that will actually stick and become Sonic’s new brand identity. (This will resonate with fans old and new, but still be a fresh leap into the future for the franchise and fandom.) 2. Sonic’s negative popularity will start to decrease, leading and paving the way for fame and possible adjustments such as more romantic themes to keep up with trends and Japanese Government demands (especially when the population starts to wither and it becomes an emergency situation to start encouraging family ties). Other than sonamy or romantic things, I believe new characters will pop up to ‘test the waters’ and see if we like romance intertwined adventures. 3. Villains will become more sentimental and caring, less comedically, they will be redeemable entities so that the company can market them more. This can also lead into funny romances that help other romances develop and have more meaning. (In other words, they’ll dig into their vault of familiar and new faces, go off the trend of ‘redeeming the villain’ and have more heart-to-heart moments that may inspire more canonical couples... especially if a newer villain were to have a crush that ended up helping two canon characters get together and leave the audience sympathizing more with the villain. This is an actual trend starting where Villains have more character and roles other than just being evil and staying that way till death. I suspect this will be popularized in American and possibly foreign media as time goes on.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I actually have a lot of the sonamy shirts lol But here’s an example of the villain actually helping the canon couple have more ‘romantic underlying’ moments together <3)
Tumblr media
Those are my current predictions, though I admit that some don’t sound all that hopeful. But hey! All my hopeful and positive predictions have already come true XD Sonamy is being marketed, the new media (Sonic Boom at the time) had subtle but more forward comedic hinting (that I don’t feel went all that well? But eh, that’s just me!), and SEGA continues to try and reface Sonic which his brand doesn’t need. I believe they will still try and rebrand Sonic continually until something sticks for them that they like. Sonamy may go through many iterations, as they are still hesitant with it, and we see that by only marketing their ‘younger selves’ as in Classic Sonamy, and are too ‘shy and uncertain’ if backlash would happen if they advertised a more mature-looking Sonic and Amy marketing. Again, I don’t know if they’ll fully grow out of this, so I predict they won’t.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I have this one but in black <3 <3 <3)
That’s it for now! My positive last comments would be the more we buy/purchase Sonamy merch, the more we’ll start seeing it in their media and entertainment products. Until then, do your best and write, draw, and review -kindly- to keep those articles of enchantment alive with the sweet sound of--”When will Sonic and Amy finally have a love song AMV moment for us?” lol

Recently I've had to unfollow a YouTuber I really like because they started saying very antizionist/ antisemetic things. It was a youtuber I highly respected, and who introduced me to a lot of new interesting ideas. It's been getting me really down recently. Have you ever had to deal with a situation like this?
I’m sorry that happened to you.
Thankfully, not really. This is where my inability to assimilate is beneficial. Y’all are going to judge me but I have — and this isn’t an exaggeration — two goy friends. My biggest interaction with goyim is at work and we’re all too busy/smart to discuss politics or religion in that setting.
Have I ever experienced acquaintances saying or posting ignorant, hateful [antisemitic] things? Absolutely. Oftentimes they’re microagressions related to the inherent antisemitism in western societies because: xtian hegemony. And I’ve just unfollowed those people.
My advice to you is to look at it as a win. It’s Spring Cleaning. You can’t change everyone’s mind. Antisemitism will always exist. Unfortunately, Gen-Z, ie. the generation currently in control of pop culture optics, is unbelievably antisemitic. So you have a YouTuber that is monetizing online content; for them to make money, they have to give their audience what they want. Being antizionist is a trend. People have been lead to believe it’s cool. We live in a world where so much of what we do is motivated by our need to form groups and fit in. Oftentimes that means foregoing facts and jumping on bandwagons we know nothing about. But everyone is saying it, so it must be true. What I’m saying is - you can’t take it personally. This is social media culture. This is the world the internet has cultivated. Use that same world to change the narrative. If you’re a Jew, be a loud and proud Jew. Regardless of who you are, support other Jews — all Jews. Use those same platforms to educate others and speak out against antisemitism. There are so many people in the world that know the truth and spread love. There are people in this world that will teach you new things *and* support Jews and our right to self-determination in our homeland. Focus on those people. Listen to and support those people. And hope that those people, like this YouTuber, that are clearly uneducated, learn the truth eventually and stop spreading misinformation and hate. In the meantime, I’d strongly suggest that you stop watching this YouTuber’s videos. They’re making money off of hate speech. Defunding ignorance is a great first step in creating change.
Thanks for the ask! I hope it gets better for you. 💕
