Running from 9/22/2024 to 9/30/2024 is my Spooktober Event!

A Halloween Party!

Which if you've been on the lookout, you'll have been given a spoiler for very recently!

It’ll be a lot like my Shake Date Event, actually.

Here’s how it’s going to work!

You, or if I’ve done it for you before, an OC, are going to a Halloween party! And you’ve been given a ride with a character (or two!). Maybe you dressed up, or maybe they did, but you find that there’s a candy bucket (or something close) waiting for you in the car. A little treat for coming out with them—how sweet!

This means I will only write your OC if I have done so before!

(Those of you who have already sent in an ask with new OCs, I'll get to you if I haven't already. New OC asks from this point on will be deleted. Handling someone's baby for the first time in a mass event is stressful).

You are to send me an ask in my ask box who was dressed up (they’ll be the ‘monster’ they’re dressed as), what candy bucket you’ve got, and what was in it! As for personal descriptions, you’re to tell me what you want me to know! I don’t know what you look like, after all. So let me know if you prefer a particular style of dress, your basic details, and something you want to have attention drawn to. Whether that’s your serious personality, or freckles! This is easier for OCs, as I’ll already have a frame of reference.

When doing the candy, feel free to have it be ‘given’ to someone specific if you want them to have that in particular. It’s nice to share, after all!

It doesn’t have to be super detailed if you prefer to be straight forward to keep it within the word count. And it could also be very detailed if you’d like to play with it a little! As long as it’s clear, I don’t mind at all!

In relation to characters dramatically taller than what is realistic, I may tweak their height to something less… daunting without having to be asked. So, someone like Katakuri from One Piece may not be 16+ feet in a normal, ‘mostly human’ setting.

Other than that, I look forward to seeing what ya’ll come up with and hope it makes for a spooky good fun time for everyone!

You can't even be mad at Vee for wanting to ditch Glisten. If I remember her lore correctly, she's physically incapable of feeling sympathy, which isn't her fault, and operates on pure logic. That's probably what saved her from countless Twisteds.

It's also probably what got Rodger Twisted. Glisten probably wouldn't have gone psycho mode if they had just taken him with them. But Vee couldn't have known that.

Exactly!! Augh, Vee my beloved, tried my best to portray her personality accurately instead of like, less realistic to her robotic tendencies, but at the same time not a total jerk that people make her out to be. She just wants to do the best for her teams and the surviving Toons, and that means wanting to minimize the chance of anything threatening their safety. I feel like she can sympathize to an extent, which is why her immediate reaction wasn't just 'stay as far away from him as possible' when talking to Rodger bc she misses Glisten, too (based on their interactions + the cartoon with them they give sibling / close friend vibes ✨️), and she knows Rodger and everyone else does, but her logic tells her that bringing a Twisted / potential half-Twisted to the lobby with them is NOT a good idea.

But exactly, Vee just couldn't know for sure. She couldn't have predicted Glisten would snap in Panic Mode. She couldn't have predicted he'd be so out of it as to literally hold someone back from the elevator even if he knows that they need to leave. Given he still had enough sanity left to be talking and joking and even laughing with the others she assumed he had enough left to understand how risky it is. Clearly he didn't, and the one thing going through her mind seeing the elevator close with Rodger still outside was how, in her logic, one of her teammates has probably died because of her decisions. It wasn't intentional, she can't have predicted it in her processors, but she still made the call to not bring Glisten. She still made the call to leave Rodger to babysit Glisten alone because she assumed he'd be fine. She'd still see it as *her fault.*

Also, he's not. ENTIRELY Twisted by the end of the fic :) Glisten was able to use Medkits to help Rodger while he was unconscious (with a lot of panicking about how much of his ichor was corrupted by then and if he can detox it properly), and he can still talk and everything, just a little woozy!

(Via a doodle I did of Rodger and Twisted Glisten in a deleted scene [Faint red in the eyeball]).

Doesn't mean he ENTIRELY got out of that safely though. I still like to think Glisten got him back from losing 3 hearts (one when Glisten initially dug his claws into him, one when he was tackled and his arms were punctured, one more when Boxten knocked him to the ground and probably bit / clawed him a little until he could be gotten off) with the health kits and probably didn't waste time trying to fix him. Glisten saved him from Twisting / Dying by like. A gap the size of a salt grain. He's not doing too hot but at least for that moment in time he's stable and alive, could probably get better as long as he wasn't exposed to more tainted ichor / injuries that make him lose his own ichor.

Hey, Jake & Jack fans, is this anything?

Both men imprisoned (literal & metaphorical).

Both offered an out from their current predicament by an outside force (arguably in the case of Brain Ghost Dirk).

Both have loose ties to Lord English visually.

Yellow initial glow & Gamzee involvement too.

Sometimes a guy just needs to explode (same pose too).

Both dual wielding weapons.

That same said weapon type (for Jack Noir) having killed Jane Crocker.

It's really looking like Jake is going to do her in.

I would also like to point out that we've had interactions involving these three (Jane, Jake, and Brain Ghost Dirk) before that consisted of similar topics & themes.

Brain Ghost Dirk implying that he's just there as moral support, a manifestation of Jake's powers, and as a coping mechanism. Jane also talking about ruling an empire with him while talking down to him, similar to how she saw and/or still sees him in Beyond Canon's Candy timeline. Jake also being uncertain about doing anything to harm her despite all the bad things she's doing.

Brain Ghost Dirk going away tells us that Jake's more hopeful than he's ever been. This is the moment where he is the most sure of his decisions than he's ever been in his life, whatever those decisions may be in regards to Jane and how to handle this situation.

He is probably going to shoot Jane down, quite literally. I would also argue that after all this time, the lad isn't beating the Lord English allegations. We might as well have a parallel of him killing Jane much like how Jack Noir killed her right before he got possessed by Lil Cal & given some of Lord English's immense power.

Alternatively maybe we'll get to see what the power of hope or hope bullets can do to someone whose done so much wrong & come so far off the deep end in terms of moral wrongdoings. Maybe with every shot that hits her, she'll begin to be swayed to the side of good & start to self-reflect.

I'm still not fully convinced that Gamzee actually cured Tavros' peanut allergy, I mean just look at the panel.

This could absolutely be interpreted as Jake injecting his hope power into the epipen and by proxy injecting both his power & the epipen into his son! If younger Jake is strong enough to defeat Grimbark Jade, then adult Jake might just be strong enough to defeat a peanut allergy is all I'm saying! In fact, now that I'm rambling about it, this seems like the more likely outcome is Jake's hope power swaying or (in the very least) confusing Jane mid-fight. Hope bullets, they would look cool & would be pretty strong!

The power of believing in others & wanting things to change can be a strong tool indeed, Mister English.

If there's one person who still believes in changing Jane's mind (or bringing her back to proper canonicity depending on how you interpret the recent lore), it would be Jake English, the believer.

So it seems this unusual behavior started when the pod’s matriarch, known to researchers as Gladis, was struck and injured by a boat propeller. The most viable theory is that Gladis then lashed out in an act of extreme frustration. Subsequently, she either taught her offspring the same behavior or—more likely—they observed her and decided to try it out for themselves. Mimicry is a huge part of how intelligent, highly social cetaceans like killer whales learn.

Since most of the attacks are perpetrated by youngsters, I’m honestly chalking it up to kids being dumb. Orcas, especially as juveniles, are very playful and very destructive, and this is all a super fun game. Far less likely, but still possible I suppose, is that they now truly see the boats as threats and are neutralizing them.

As fun as the memes about the orca uprising have been, there is no malice or vengeance at work here. To claim so is blatant anthropomorphism (but hey, people anthropomorphizing killer whales, what else is new). Hopefully, the behavior dies down soon, before another orca is hurt by a propeller or, worse, humans decide to put an end to it.

Because if there’s one animal that practices revenge, it’s the human being.
