Papa and I had very different first encounters with Lord Stronghart. When I first met him, he was old, and considered himself to be infallible. He carried himself with a gravitas of importance, and acted as though I were the least important person in the world. I know that's false! I am, in fact, rather delightful. He pretended I was a waste of time.

As for Papa, he told me all about it. Stronghart, rather than just ignoring people, was actively scornful and malicious back then. He regarded anyone who was quite obviously intelligent, or possibly even more intelligent than he, with active distaste. Scoffing at his every statement, not even looking at him...

Either way, he was very annoying!

takumi posted about the showcase on twitter today (relevant tweet 1, relevant tweet 2) and from the sounds of it he delivered the speech in english because he heard the capcom showcase had more overseas viewers than japanese viewers last time. so he asked janet hsu to translate a speech for him and record it, and then listened to it morning to night for two weeks so he could repeat it by memory at the showcase. he even made notes to try and get the cadence of it down.

all for the experience of us turning on the capcom showcase and going "oh! I didn't know takumi could speak english!" and he can't he just memorized a script to pitch ghost trick in english because he thought it would be interesting to overseas viewers. this guy really operates on an entirely different brain level from most people and I have so much respect for him

EDIT: Have gotten a few tags now with people saying "I don't go here", so I thought I'd provide a little more information! You can view Shu Takumi's full speech and more elaboration on Ghost Trick in this video. It's a delightful little mystery puzzle game that is often considered one of his best works, and what he says in that video interests you I highly recommend checking out at least the demo and possibly the full game. You play as an amnesiac ghost with powers of the dead allowing him to turn back time and change fate. He seeks to save other people and uncover the truth behind his mysterious death, and his identity, before the morning comes and he's doomed to fade away.

As well, Shu Takumi's most well-known work is on the murder mystery visual novel series Ace Attorney, where you play as a rookie defense lawyer defending clients against a corrupt judicial system heavily stacked against you. You can find the first three games in the series (all written by Shu Takumi) in the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, which is available on all modern consoles and a total steal whenever it goes on sale. You can learn more about it through this trailer! I'm obsessed with those games and also super recommend checking it out if murder mysteries or visual novels are your thing.

A/N: Ughhh I have been having literally 0 motivation for writing, kind of like an art block. I wanna write so much but something just prevents me lmao... But this man, I swear. He just sparked my will to write and hopefully also work off the requests and one trade with a friend I have been working on. Also I just haaaad to get these out of my head

Contents/warnings: Random general headcanons, relationship headcanons & NSFW headcanons. I am just writing about "his S/O" and referring to S/O with they/them. Doesn't contain spoilers from JJK story, just Higuruma and his existence

General headcanons

He listens to Modern Talking. Don't ask where this comes from, I just feel like he'd like their music. Also somehow I was thinking he'd like Bon Jovi, too? He isn't like a crazy fan for either of them, just likes various of their songs. Could see him listening instrumental music as well, like game/movie soundtracks

Surprisingly enough he isn't a huge drinker. He enjoys an alcoholic drink every now and then to refresh, but he knows his limits. He knows when it feels good and when it goes overboard

He doesn't have visible muscles for the most part, I'd like to think him having a bit of body fat which hides them. My man is an attorney, he hasn't been focusing in training or being physically fit all that much. He does like to keep himself in decent shape though, because healthy body equals a healthy mind

He's not tall per se, more like average height, definitely under 180 centimeters

He's a minimalist. He doesn't have anything "extra" in his apartment, just the necessities

Speaking off, his wardrobe probably isn't huge either. Maybe a basic suit or two, so he can wash the other and still have the other one wearable. Otherwise his wardrobe is filled with mostly casual comfortable clothes. He values practical clothes, too

If he ends up having time to play games, he'd definitely mostly be into single player, story focused games. Not into fps games. One of his favorites are, funny enough, Ace Attorney games (he also likes the soundtrack)

He doesn't strike me as a person who would be into dating all that much, but if he finds so called a right person, he might consider it. He doesn't really sleep around with lots of people either

He values the personality of a person more than looks. Forming an emotional and a mental bond is what matters him the most when it comes to a relationship

He doesn't even have a type, really. He thinks he is capable of finding anyone attractive if their personality hits him

Either quality time or physical touch are his love languages

Quality time, because he is often doing long days and working a lot so he might not be around as much as he'd like. But when he finally is around his S/O, no matter what they do, he is going to be very happy. He likes to do the most basic, mundane things together with his S/O. Having breakfast, watching TV, showering together, cooking together, sitting together in the same room...

And what comes to physical touch, he just loves to get touchy with his S/O and most of the time not even in a sexual way. It is like a way to make up for all the time he hasn't been around. All the little touches and kisses he exchanges with his S/O makes him feel so loved

Bi coding: Dual wielding swords is literally a euphemism in Japan for bisexuality; and Kirito initially tries to hide the fact he can dual wield out of fear of how the people he's close to will view him (and once he reveals it to them and they accept it, he begins to be more open about it.) Also in the Underworld arc he becomes very close with Eugeo to the point of living with him (and sharing a bed on occasion), and there are several parallels between Eugeo and Asuna, and they're so gay for each other that despite the anime having only a toned down version of it, they're still very affectionate (Also of note is that Eugeo is the only guy in SAO canon to consistently have a 'laying in bed with Kirito' talk CG in the spinoff games) (There's more but it's spoilers and this is a shortened version)

Trans coding: Kirito is very trans coded in the light novel (which shows Kirito's thoughts in much greater detail than the anime) Aincrad arc reveals that Kirito explicitly Does Not Like his real face, and dislikes how feminine it looks (he mentions that its led to him and his cousin being mistaken for sisters) And in Phantom Bullet arc, he's visibly uncomfortable at being mistaken for a girl due to his avatar's appearance, and in response to being misgendered he briefly panics and checks to make sure his chest flat (at least in the anime adaptation) 🏳️‍⚧️"

"for other fans of this series, I know the more obvious representation here may be Luou, Junpei is So Good. his special interest is ballet and he has so many hangups involving how his family sees him and how other boys his age interpret him to the point that his idea of masculinity is extremely narrow and he enforces social rules on himself to mask and keep people from realizing that he loves something that Isn't Manly. he misinterprets social cues and takes things literally, like assuming that when Miyako asked him to dance with her she meant Right This Minute rather than as a pair in the studio. for some reason the point where he cuts his hair super short to prove his devotion to ballet is also sticking with me, I think maybe it's the combination of the way it's normal for boys/men in Japan to do that, yet Junpei didn't realize that kind of attitude/action didn't suit ballet at all? he wasn't aware that the context was completely different. Like, Mumbo becomes a generic Jealous Rival for Grian and Scar's attention, or Martyn gets flattened into a user interface "ask me anything!" hint fairy

okay so first off, property police, come on, martyn isn’t a tutorial fairy he’s another love interest,

second, this is a good point! the jealousy and rival angle is inspired. I also think maybe as a reference point I could go read some of the pre-existing like, “oh no I’m the villainess in a dating simulator!” genre for a baseline (if anyone has any suggestions) or see if I can find a good dating simulator example that isn’t a subversion like doki doki literature club (the problem is that most dating sims I see get big in western fandom are already subversions and/or jokes and if I want to be true to the genre I need an example played straight; not sure if cobbling together zero escape, ace attorney, and modern fire emblem s-rank supports actually gets me something that feels true to form).

the REAL answer to this is actually the hard thing though: take it seriously. and honestly that’s part of what would make the horror work; i’d need to still do very strong character writing even with the warped characters! like, I still need to capture what makes those ships COMPELLING… just warped in terrible ways. part of the horror is that gap there, after all, between ‘what this could be if we could accept the actual flaws in it’ and ‘what is presented in an “ideal” world, stripped of that’. so it’d definitely have to do with how strongly this can still be plotted out…

(also, a little getting over my constant push-pull between “loves writing things that are a commentary on fandom tropes” and “INTIMATELY aware I have 11k followers and like, god, I want to be responsible about that”. I could do it I just need to figure out how to do it in a way that satisfies the bees in my brain about that,)

Idea for an Ace Attorney fanfic based on the latest Eminem album😭😭

So, this is gonna be confusing, but in this fic, there are 2 Diego Armandos. One of them is the old one featured in Turnabout Memories, and the other is the modern one featured in The Stolen Turnabout, Recipe for Turnabout, and Bridge to Turnabout.

For all intents and purposes, the old one will be referred to as "Diego" and the new one will be referred to as "Godot".

Anyway, Diego and Dahlia come back from the dead, and they've somehow teamed up. After Diego learns that he had been brought back as Godot, he and Dahlia decide to make themselves his problem, and track him down.

Diego and Dahlia end up finding Godot and kidnapping him. Diego takes control of Godot’s law office, and tries to drag his reputation through the mud.

Cut to Phoenix, Maya, and Pearl. Maya sees right through Diego's lies, and rallies up Phoenix and Pearl to uncover the truth.

The three find Godot and release him from his bounds, and Godot decided that he has to track down Diego and Dahlia and bring them to justice.

Cue a few chapters of them trying to recruit different characters from the series to help them (Edgeworth, Manfred, Franziska, Gumshoe, Maggey, and Atmey end up joining them).

The group ends up tracking down Diego and Dahlia. Godot and Diego fight while everyone else just kinda sits and watches. Dahlia gets away unharmed, while Diego gets away with some injuries from the fight.

Godot feels defeated, and feels even more so when he gets a threatening phone call shortly after the fight.

Gumshoe takes the call audio to a police crime lab, and ends up identifying the voice as a revived Mia Fey.

Godot, obviously shocked that his ex girlfriend has risen from the grave, asks Gumshoe if he can track the call. He ends up linking it back to Blue Screens Co.

They come to the conclusion that Mia is hiding in Blue Screens, which prompts Maya and Godot to go there to talk to her.

Chongyun

✧ This boy plays all (absolutely all) paranormal games. He is also no stranger to horror as the two genres often go hand in hand. For this reason he got a lot of viewers, as he sticks to the trends.

✧ He started recording thanks to you and his friend Xingqiu. He believes that this is how he can easier meet someone who spoke to ghosts before which has been his dream for a long time. He had a few reports so far but though he had thoroughly investigated them, they turned out to be false. His dream is to see at least one ghost in his life.

✧ Chongyun likes conspiracy theories. He has a couple of videos commenting on them. He believes in a lot of strange things.

✧ Fans loved him mainly for his personality. He is very open towards them and does not criticize. For this reason there were some haters very early in his career saying that he was actually faking kidness because no one can be so nice all the time. Chongyun said he didn't mind but you decided to intervene because it shouldn't be like that.

✧ One of his special signs is ice cream. He overheats very quickly and always keeps spare tube in the freezer. He ate them in front of viewers to such an extent that a brand of frozen sweets offered him cooperation. He agreed and now you can see his entire line in stores. In return, he got a huge supply, so he's happy.
