Purva Ashadha and Shravana (monkey yonis)

As a famous movie couple.

Purva Ashadha is the last venus ruled nakshatra, meaning "the previous invincible one", its symbol is a winnowing basket, separating all things worthy from the unworthy. Its ruling deities are Apas, water creatures, and this nakshatra is strongly connected to waters and the seas. It's about gaining alliances to secure your victory.

Shravana is the last moon ruled nakshatra, meaning "hearing", its symbols are the ear and three footprints. Ruling deity is Vishnu- Hindu preserver god and consort of Lakshmi(associated with Purva Ashadha and Rohini). Its about connecting everything together.

Now, let me introduce you to the couple.

Aragon and Arwen

from The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

When the first movie begins Aragorn is a simple, lonely ranger, but always dedicated to doing what he thinks is right. He definitely has the makings of a king, he's also descended from Isildur, being the true heir to the throne. Despite his lineage, he's living like an average lowly man, an outcaste, wondering on on his own. Shravana is connected to wandering and also being one of men and that being the trait that makes the king. Shravana is "the savior" or "the preserver" of mankind, and that also obviously applies to Aragorn. Shravana being mleccha (outcast) caste also ties with him living like a lowlife and being apart from society.

Arwen, on the other hand, is busy rebelling against her father and choosing a mortal life due to her love for Aragorn. She's a noble elf maiden (Purva Ashadha is in the Brahmin caste- the highest standing caste). Purva Ashadha (like all venus nakshatras) are romantics and always choose to bravely follow their heart. Also a very interesting thing to note is that Arwen is reffered to as "the evenstar" or "the evening star", which is obviously Venus.

When she gifts Aragorn her necklace, he refuses at first, not believing himself worthy, but Arwen insists and says: "It is mine to give to whom I choose, like my heart". That pretty much sums up what this nakshatra is about.

Eventually, Aragorn does become king and Arwen does choose a mortal life, even thought it meant seeing her love age and die before her.

One of my favorite scenes in the whole trilogy is when Arwen is taking Frodo to Rivendell while they're being chased by the Nazgul. She bravely stands up to them and summons the waters to defeat them. Purva Ashadha's power is to invigorate and Arwen using the waters to secure her victory makes a lot of sense.

Purva Ashadha invigorates, Shravana connects and together they become a formidable team.

Everytime I think of Purva Ashadha and Shravana my mind immideately goes to these two. The setting, the etheral aesthetic and the otherworldliness makes me think of their yoni- Vaanar also meaning "human-like creature" or "a human-like being from other dimentions" in Sanskrit. They were said to live in forests and that's where Arwen went and lived before she passed, overcome by the grief of being separated from her love. But their story remains in the minds and hearts of people, and their love, courage, devotion and loyalty is remembered forever.

sun: capricorn in the BOOK (cardinal and earthy, reliable), sagittarius in the MOVIES (mutable fire in a water house: 4th house = your roots, your family, your home. the deepest part in you, what makes you feel safe and nurtured. having his sun here means his sense of self is tied to his family, being mutable means he adapts to his environment (example: him taking on the role of a leader in thorin's absence in DoS/the beginning of BoTFA)

moon: leo moon in the 12th house (12th house = things that are hidden to you, the moon = your inner self, your heart. leo = strength, pride, warmth, confidence, leadership, creativity. all of these things combined make him have immense inner strength that he might find difficult to access)

rising: virgo (mutable earth = his role is to be of service to others, to help others, he's observant and analytical but comes across as quiet and judgemental, criticises himself, appears neat and well-groomed, practical clothing/accessories, attention to detail, notices things that other people may miss, introverted, reserved and not very outspoken)

mars: cancer in the 11th house (cancer = cardinal water, very protective of family and children. 11th house = groups of people in general, his energy is focused on people = would make him a good leader/nurturer/protector of people)

mercury: capricorn 6th house. again, an earth sign in an earth house. capricorn = cardinal sign, ruled by saturn (prolongs things, slows down any placement it touches with good but harsh intentions), this makes his thinking style very thorough and rational. realist. doesn't speak without thinking. can see the big picture easily and needs to ruminate on information before coming to a decision, has grand plans and ambitions.

Okay fully if I were hearing this story (LOTR) for the first time (rather than reading it for the first time haha) and a guy invited strangers into a blatantly Germanic-Old English hall and said to leave the weapons at the door (this at least is normal enough! +I’m definitelyy gonna do sign posts soon, like houses, planets, asteroids, and all, it’s all gonna have a theme to each topic yada yada yadaa, so look outtt+

*All aries risings have sign/house synchronization because the house order doesn’t move or if it does move at all it hardly does, only shifting by a sign or two depending on how late the ascendant degree is, this is notorious of aries’ independence streak by wanting each sign to be in their native houses, to feel its house’s full power, aries rules 1st the house of identity so there’s the more symbolic way for this occurring. It’s pure energy here.

*Venus-saturn, especially conjunction, definitely carry a big daddy vibe. It’s more prominent if the two are placed in the angular houses.

*Taurus and libra are both rules by venus, but these energies are distributed between the two signs in different ways. A basic way to differ the two energy wise is taurus is the “masculine” side of venus, libra is far more “feminine”. Both are delicate but in different ways taurus is “heavier”, for it being an earth sign, contrasted with the airy and flighty libra.

*Libra sun is in fall in astrology, the fall meaning the behavior of the sign contradicts the traditional role of the planet, the role of the sun is to stand out from everyone else, its your radiance, what makes you special, it’s your ego and what you take pride in. Libra is focused on everyone else around them, everyone other than themselves, the people around them and how they can compromise to fit everyone’s needs. I mentioned before they don’t like to stand out, this is excluding fire placements in a libras chart which will create a person who relates well to others but still demands to stand out in whatever planet is in a fire sign.

*Whatever house leo is ruling is wherever your rising sign’s ego is being expressed in, ex: leo in 11th expresses their ego, creativity with friends, causes. This area of life is where you’ll likely take most pride in, excluding the suns placement in the chart.

*Neptune in 7th can attract a lot of partners in need of healing or help. This person is very healing and guiding in relationships, maybe they could even make a good guidance counselor, but I’m not so sure astrologically because I haven’t looked into it entirely, let me know if this is true.

*Neptune in 2nd is the type of person to browse a shop, find whatever they like but never end up buying it, they change their minds about it by putting it back right before they leave. They could’ve been talking about hooow much they want to get whatever they’re holding onto over and over again but never buy the thinggg.

*Aries mercury were always told to lower their voice or be quiet as kids I swear.

*Uranus in 12th feels they should hide their brilliance, these are veryy creative people they just keep it a secret.

*12th house feels like a never ending game of hide and seek, you find the planet sometimes but you’re always in a never ending loop, always searching for it.

*The moon in astrology, when looking into the mother, who’s ruled by the moon in astrology, describes your relationship with her, what she’s like, how she raised you etc...

*Ex: taurus moons, your mother gave you many gifts, she adored youu as taurus is ruled venus which rules gifts and appreciation, she was also very relaxed in your childhood, she still is now. This relationship is a very calm, steady one, moon is exalted in taurus meaning the role of the moon is comfortable in relaxed and comfy taurus.

*Ex: a moon in 8th, the house of intense and psychic scorpio, could have a psychic or even telepathic bond to the mother, this is a very strong connection overall and depending on its sign and aspects is where you’ll find the specifics of the relationship from, the details, how the relationship is flavored.

*Sun in 12th indicates an absent father figure. This placement is difficult, i’m so sorry if you have it because you can never feel like you can be yourself, it’s hidden from you. With any other placement in astrology, there’s a gorgeous, forgiving upside to it, you’re very healing and understanding of others, an empath or at least someone who sucks in the negative vibes out the environment, it can get quite exhausting !! so always need to seclude yourself now and then, you’re very loyal and caring of your loved ones, people love you for your sensitivity and empathy as this placement also makes you an old soul, someone overflowing with wisdom others rely on.

*5th house shows you what your child will be like, what traits they embody, what they will do and even how they act.

*Capricorn risings look elvish, they have high cheekbones a lot like a LOTR character and elvish, chiseled ears. It’s not OUT there but it’s subtle.

*Chiron in 9th has experienced religious trauma.

*A lot of 12th or 8th house placements carry a lot of karma.

*Mercury-pluto (especially negative) can become inconsiderate in arguments, they bring up a ton of shit to use against you, only as long as they can win.

*Scorpio suns are far more optimistic and light hearted than the moon sign.

*Mercury-ascendant aspects can make even an introverted rising sign more out-going, open, talkative (not that introverted risings can’t be talkative this is just what comes with this placement).

*You may be good at something without realizing it, take a peak at your 12th house or quintiles !! For quintiles, look up the trine form of whatever two planets are aspected for the general description since there’s not too much to find online sadly. 12th house is something you don’t really know or realize you’re good at, especially early in life, the secret talent pertaining to whichever sign or planet are ruling/in this house.

*Leo venus take pride in their loverss like damnnnn they literally treat their partners as royalty, king and queen, kissing the ground they walk on and everything, they’re so devoted in love, it’s adorable !! <33

*Pisces and leo moons, THE dreamiest, most romantic moon sign pairr, it’s well known pisces is the hopeless romantic of the zodiac, however to bring up the flamboyant, dramatic leo moon when describing a dreamy romantic you wonder, really ?? Yes this is extremely true ! Both signs, pisces and leo, are fairly alike, almost alike in fact, considering they both create a inconjunction in the natal chart, two signs who share some similarities while still contradicting one another in ways they express these similarities, both pisces and leo are creative, talented, have a love for the arts, film, music, loyal as friends and love to care for others, both are insanely idealistic. Leo rules the child remember !! so they’re a childlike sign with young idealism, an idealistic moon sign here. Both leo and pisces moons are children at heart, they’re so gooey and sweet.

*Sun in 10th can get any job they apply for, they could even be terrible at that job they want, the one they want to try out for, they would even have a breakdown over how terrible they were in an interview but still get the job like HOWW- WITCHCRAFTT.

*Aquarius mercuries were known as the smartest kid in class, the einstein’s of the class, everyone asked for their answers for the homework, they just carry this flair of intellectual superiority just like the sun sign haha.

It’s only about how the air venus energy is used, manifested in the person, if its underdeveloped or not. If it’s underdeveloped it’s going to be chaotically afloat from material love affairs, which earth venuses don’ttt like, water too, fire can handle the floaty-ness but if the passion’s not there- BYE !! If you develop an air venus well enough, you can balance the material and intellectual realms in your relationships, this is kinda natural for earth heavy charts with one the air signs here, however fire or even more air could become a little tricky to ground yourself in relationships. Just let your partners know you deserve your space because you guys can really run out of mental power after a while, so it’s necessary for you to recharge !! just don’t ghost people completely when you do, it’s where this immortal stereotype comes from.

*Saturn dominant people are flawless beings.

*Saturn in 3rd, YOU GUYS ARE SOOOSOO SOOO SMART AHH. Their minds are always running at a fast pace like literal lightning, or they become too overwhelming (not in a bad sense ofcc, it’s just how it is) that the person’s speech rhythm is kinda forgotten about in a way, it feels like that their mouths aren’t always running in sync. The thought they’re going to express into words should come out but it’s so quick or even “heavy” it jumbles up a sentence or it causes the person to mix up a word or two. *Pluto in 8th feel unbeatable, indestructible almost, they have above average regenerative abilities, they have the best survival tactics but they keep it a secret, it’s 8th house we’re talking about.

*Whatever saturn is in is the area where you’ll become flawless in, you’ll master that area throughout your life with time.

*There is a guiding planet in astrology, the planet that is closest behind the sun, it’s considered your “second” chart ruler, or basically has the energy of it because you can probably relate to it being one of the most prominent energies in your chart.

*Sagittarius//9th house mercury is soooo blunt, so blunt. Wait did I mention they’re SOOO SO BLUNT.

*Moon in 5th need to perform, they love to get out on stage and perform with their entire hearts, they’ll do amazing in the performing arts, theatre, and honestly they probably already aree. These people are so playful and generally so fun to be around, they’re natural hypemen as well !!

*Neptune in 3rd feel everything in their environment, they can sift through the energies and vibes, it’s second nature, no not second nature, FIRST nature, they’re one with everything around them. Their minds are like a hazy, cloudy ocean containing every drop, every thought of a place, a person.

Nickname: Patch. It’s short for Patrick and I simply cannot stand anyone calling me Pat, so I forced this one on my friends.

Zodiac: Virgo. My mom is super into this stuff and could give you a full run down but it’s not my bag so this is all I remember.

Height: 5’3” Not short… compact.

Last movie I saw: Gunpowder Milkshake. I thought it was a fairly basic shoot ‘em up with the only twist being that it starred a bunch of women rather than a bunch of men. Nice visuals and threadbare plot.

Last thing I googled: not counting work related stuff (something about limitation periods & COVID) was something related to NHL contracts because I was trying to argue that a certain player was over paid.

Favourite Musician: Don’t have one. Not really at least.

Song stuck in my head: Deutschland by Rammstein. It’s the part thats kinda like call and response. Anyways… stuck like fucking glue for a few days now.

Amount of sleep: 6 hrs give or take. Climb into bed around 9pm, go to sleep around 11, wake up around 5. Get out of bed around 7.

Lucky number: doesn’t matter

What am I wearing: today is work from home day so: grey t-shirt, khaki shorts. No socks. Yesterday I wore my navy suit, white shirt with grey check pattern and decided to skip the tie since I wasn’t meeting any clients.

Dream job: I wish my current job paid more. I work for a legal clinic that handles civil matters for low income people. For me that stuff like landlord/tenant issues, debt collectors, wills & estates, etc. I’m leaving it for a “regular firm” where I’ll handle divorces where people will argue over who gets the four fucking snowmobiles. It will pay the bills and more but at what price to my soul?

Dream trip: New Zealand. Because I want to be one of those (annoying) LOTR tourists.

Favourite food: Pretty much anything salmon.

Play an instrument: I tried to learn how to play the drums when I was like… 10 or something. I sucked at it and gave up.

Languages: English. I have a reading knowledge of German, which means I can muddle through with a good dictionary. I know a handful of Cree words & phrases. I try to read/speak French with a terrible American accent just to annoy my husband who is functionally bilingual like the good Canadian he is.

Favourite Songs: None. Sometimes I relive my ill-spent youth and put on some sort of “top Alt-Rock Hits of the 2000s”. Does that count?

Random fact: You can sue a manufacturer because some lady found a snail in her ginger beer.

Describe yourself as aesthetic things: Ikea catalogue with it’s casual yet carefully curated put together look. It looks very middle-class if a bit rundown. Then you open the drawers & cupboards to find all sorts of weird shit just stuffed in there randomly. Faded pictures of university aged kids in budget shopping LARP costumes and bad pencil drawings of some beefy welsh guy who needs a better agent. A peek into the armoire reveals a collection that would make DI Felix Kane really excited. Under the bed are boxes of random papers and books on everything from knot tying to how to make pivot tables in Excel to goat farming.

here's my analysing my headcanon of thorin's astrological placements, enjoy :')

fili / kili (soon) / bilbo (soon) moon: scorpio moon in the 4th house. this doesn't need any explanation, i think. scorpio is a fixed water sign, the 4th house is the house of your roots, family, upbringing, it's a very deep part of yourself. thorin's early life traumas and his unwillingness to let go of the past, and especially of those who wronged him, is very scorpio moon of him :( emotionally, he has a whole tsunami going on inside him, but he's also fiercely loyal and, at his lowest point, can be possessive and self destructive. but if he grows and develops for the better, his scorpio moon can gift him with immense love and loyalty to those close to him, i don't doubt that he could have become a very calm and loving person if he had survived botfa

rising: leo. i chose this placement because this way his 4th house would fall in scorpio, and i can't think of a more fitting placement for him, other than having capricorn in his 4th house perhaps. leo risings carry themselves with pride no matter how they look, even if they're wearing rags you'll know they're of royal birth and i think this really shows in thorin. however, leo risings have an unfortunate thing about them where they are prone to attracting unwanted attention, they stand out and not always for the better

mars: aries mars (cardinal fire = takes action, impulsive, reckless) in the 8th house (house of inheritance, death and transformation), he has an unstoppable drive to do whatever it is he feels he needs to do, even if it means risking his life to do it. this placement could also indicate suffering a violent death

venus: capricorn venus. his love life is practically nonexistent, but he does find love (bilbo) later in his life, and that's exactly what this venus is all about :') doesn't trust easily and doesn't rush relationships

mercury: i was torn between aries and pisces, both in the 8th house, but i chose pisces in the end. he speaks with emotion and gravity, he's overly dramatic in his speech, and his words can be misunderstood a lot of the time. having mercury in his 8th house makes him very good at detecting what's left unsaid, and it's practically impossible to hide a lie from him. very cautious and mistrustful, but has an artistic side to him (his harp & singing)

sun: i left this one for last because i honestly had no idea what his sun could possibly be. i considered aries, capricorn, taurus, and scorpio but none of them really fit... until i realised that his sun being so hard to pin down IS an indication of what it could be, and i settled for pisces. in the 8th house, again. despite it's bubbly and fun reputation, pisces is still a water sign and can be extremely dark and moody, misunderstood, and find difficulty finding their place in the world. it's a mutable sign, so it adapts to its environment. there are many moments in the movies where thorin is seen to let others take on the role of leading the company and/or speaking on his behalf (balin, bilbo, gandalf, gloin), which indicates to me that he has mutable energy. can be prone to mental illness (the dragonsickness). his sense of self must be very blurry to him, being buried underneath all the responsibility he carries. he feels responsible for all the worldly disasters, even if they are completely out of his control. he's easily overwhelmed by emotions. having his sun in the 8th house means he goes through many transformations throughout his life, and many traumas that either harden him or break him or both. secretly, he longs to be understood and accepted as he is, and yearns for intimacy and vulnerability with someone he can trust. he's just a big babey, guys.

What's your total AO3 word count? 152999

How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? 

Professor Layton, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Lord of the Rings are the ones I’ve written the most for. I’ve also written a few stories for Rune Factory, Ace Attorney, Astro Boy, Ouran High School Host Club, Marvel, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 

The Open Jar, Golden Child, Ambivalence, The Duality of Homunculi, and Responsibilities. They’re all FMA stories; I’m kind of sad that none of the PL stories are on top, since I think I improved a lot since writing the FMA ones, but it all comes down to fandom size, I think.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not? 

These days, I always do, even if it’s just a short “Thanks so much for reading, I’m so glad you liked it!” I’m just really grateful that somebody would take the time to read the story and bother to say something. It takes a lot of energy to leave a comment sometimes, even a short one, and saying thank you for that is the least that I can do. I had pretty bad depression about two and a half years ago and took a big social media break for about six months; I didn’t respond to any comments during that time. I feel pretty bad about it now, and sometimes I think about responding, but it was so long ago that I feel awkward replying now.

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? 

Maybe that OHSHC fic “Funeral” I wrote years ago where Tamaki gets… shot and dies??? Why did I write that…??? I intended to write a follow-up where he didn’t actually die and recovers, but I never did, so the fic seems to end with him dying. That’s one of the cringe fics that I kind of want to delete now :’) Second-closest (and one that I actually like/don’t find too cringey) is my recent Clora fic “Almost Lost,” which ends with a lot of crying, but it isn’t a tragedy and their crisis is averted.

Have you ever received hate on a fic? 

Not exactly. I did get a couple of comments with criticisms on FF.net years ago, but nothing horrible. Sometimes people vaguepost about how Clora is Bad after I post something, haha, but that’s pretty much the extent of it thankfully... I’d probably cry if I actually got a hate comment adsjhkdsaf... :’) 

Do you write smut? If so what kind? 

Asdfhjkadfasdlfaf no. I get so embarrassed even writing about kissing. I’d someday like to write something that actually deserves the T rating that I give to a lot of my ship fics, but I don’t think that I could write anything higher-rated than that, and it’ll probably take me a long time to work up to that.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? 

I don’t think so!

Have you ever had a fic translated? 

No, not to my knowledge. If someone wanted to, though, that would be neat!

Have you ever co-written a fic before? 

A long time ago, my friend and I wrote a very silly LOTR fic where we would alternate writing chapters, with no planning whatsoever. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard from her in years; I wish we could have finished the fic, even if it was garbage adskjhdsf… I miss her. More recently, my friend and I have been co-writing (or at least brainstorming) a Clora story (costarring a cherished OC) set twenty years after UF. Even if the fic takes forever to actually come together, we’ve come up with so many great ideas and it’s been loads of fun.

What's your all time favorite ship? 

Clora’s definitely my all-time favourite. There have been a few others that are really special to me, but honestly, Clora has everything I want in a ship. They have so much potential for fluff and angst, and they can get SO much character development together. (and I really relate to/adore both characters sdjkhsadf…) The ship does get hate and that does discourage me at times, but they feel really rewarding to write about; I feel like I’m solving a puzzle whenever I get one step closer to having them get a happy ending together. Nobody had written about them since like… 2016 until I started last year, so I’m really glad that a few other people who also liked the ship have something to read again now.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will? 

Some of my old FMA WIPs… I’m not really into FMA or the characters/ship I used to write for anymore, and I kind of feel like I won’t ever get that kind of passion for the series again, although I still have some good memories of it. Every so often, though, I get a really nice comment on one of them and wish that I could finish them for those peoples’ sake. 

What are your writing strengths? 

Once I’ve found what emotion I’m going for, I think that I’m fairly good at keeping it consistent throughout a whole fic. I think that I’m also okay at being sympathetic to most characters, even ones that I don’t really like; it feels awful when somebody spitefully writes about my favourite characters, and I don’t want anyone to feel that way when reading my stuff. I think that I’m good at writing about… longing or yearning too, haha… not so good at writing established relationship stuff adshjksfd but I’m getting better.

What are your writing weaknesses? 

So much… The biggest thing is getting myself to write at all. I just get so easily overwhelmed, distracted, or discouraged and give up. It takes me forever to write just a oneshot, let alone multichapter stories. I’m also quite bad at planning ahead… I plan major moments in a story, but often, the in-between bits are surprises to me. I do enjoy how my characters kind of take me on a ride and surprise me, but sometimes I find myself written into a corner. I also overexplain. So many of my chapters wind up so long because I feel like I have to explain every little detail. 

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? 

I’ve never done much of that when writing about real-life languages, but I used to throw in the random Sindarin word in my LotR fics, such as calling someone’s father “Ada,” since that was common in LotR fics back then. If I was to do it now, though, I’d probably only include dialogue in another language if it was immediately translated to English afterwards, like someone explaining what a sentence meant, but I wouldn’t throw in random words unless it was a character’s normal habit to mix languages.

What was the first fandom you ever wrote for? 

The Lorax, but it was super cringe, and I deleted the fic… Funnily enough, it wasn’t even about the onceler, it was about my OC dad for him.

My official first fandom in my mind is Lord of the Rings/Tolkien in general. I was a very awkward and excitable teenager, new to the internet, and met a lot of kids on FF.net who were as awkward as me by commenting on their very silly fics/writing very silly fics similar to theirs to try to impress them. I had so much fun and made a lot of friends that way, although I’ve lost touch with almost all of them, sadly… I really miss them. The fics are all on my FF.net profile still, but I don’t recommend most of them aJSDKsdf… Those were the days before I was an angst addict and everything I wrote was ridiculous. Most things I wrote before 2019 aren’t very good to me... 

What's your favorite fic you've ever written? 

Right now, probably Bright Saffron Dreams… I put so much love and energy into that one, and it has so many tropes that I like in it. If I’d been brave enough to make it slightly more overtly romantic, it would have been exactly what I wanted in a Clora fic, haha...
