Tomorrow I have Zoom school for the first time since 2021 :(

#the rule is that we get two proper snow days and then we have virtual school #we tend to get one snow day per year max #so it's bonkers that we're getting three #we have to have class over zoom for fifteen minutes and then our teacher can just have us log off and do asynchronous work for the rest of #the class period #manifesting that at least one teacher does that #but class starts an hour and 15 minutes later than normal and i get to wear pajamas so it's not all bad #chaotic ramblings from me

i know you mentioned grad school and your job a lot but you write a lot too? curious as to what your schedule looks like

tl;dr: i normally write at around 11 pm - midnight, so my brain is usually fried up by then and im fighting sleep, which is why my fic writing process is both slow and doesn’t produce much quality 😭🙏🏻

my prof jokes that i need 36 hours in a day and he’s not wrong LOL. my typical routine ive settled into (from start to finish):

5 am - wake up, get ready for work (skincare, makeup, iron clothes/get dressed, pack lunch, make coffee); if my assignments for school get overwhelming, i will adjust my wake up time to 4 to give me time to work on them when i wake up

7 am - i leave my apartment no later than 7. im in auditing and travel to a client site 3 out of 5 days of the week (the other 2 days are wfh). right now, my commute is 1 hour 21 mins one-way (so i spend about almost 3 hours of my workday just commuting to and from), but it honestly feels like such a short trip now LOL

5 pm - workday is over; my office allows me to charge nonbillable time to account for my commute so i take a 30 min lunch over an hour long lunch so i can leave the client site at 3pm rather than 3:30pm (they just want to ensure that i get home/finish the workday at 5)

5 - 6 pm - my designated time to workout & then cook dinner

6 - 7 pm - shower and self care (in the form of skin and body care)

8 - 10 pm - depending on how many assignments i have, my designated schoolwork and study time will either end right at 10 bc im tired or i finish early OR it can drag until midnight

11pm - 12 am - free time

when work is slow or im waiting on something or im on lunch, you’ll see me post a lot!!!

my WFH days are every wednesday and friday, so similar working hours (7-3:30) but everything gets pushed up a bit, so i can workout earlier, wake up later, etc. on weekends, i normally drive back to my family + help out at their business. i get to sleep in until 6am, I’m at my parents’ shop from 7am-6:30pm basically LOL and any down time i spend shitposting on tumblr (it’s hard to write anything serious while im always being interrupted w work stuff + on my phone), i try to have free time by 9pm but usually all i wanna do on the weekend is sleep, so that’s what i do haha

#for ref all my final grad courses are delivered asynchronous online!!!!#so today is wfh day and i just logged off so now im going to workout early and use this free time to clean!!!#and dick around on tumblr w yall

oh damn, the terrors have kicked in

#its so cold #and i emailed 2 more teachers about my accommodations #and one of them responded back right away asking if i wanted to take the asynchronous online version of the class instead #and the other has a big thing in bold in the syllabus saying computers aren't allowed cuz they're too distracting #i'm scared #like. they'll have to let me use my laptop or else deal with me not taking any notes at all #but still. what if i'm just seen as a whiny loser who wants to cause problems on purpose?#which is literally the thing i'm trying to avoid by being proactive about reaching out as soon as they open up the course #like? what if i go in first day and open up my laptop and they yell at me and then i explode #and then everyone in the room points and laughs and takes pictures and i end up on the news #with big headlines that say 'wow look at this dumbass. theyre soooooo stupid and probably smell bad'#and things of that nature #i know i'm being irrational and i know its probably just a combination of nerves and also being too cold (always fucks up my anxiety)#but also. also. what if they immediately throw hammers at me

less than a month before i go back to school because they decided to start early!! and also we can‘t have backpacks anymore! they have to stay in our lockers!! so excited to be totally able to get my stuff between classes with our new and improved 4 minute passing time!! because i will 100% remember all my classes and locker placement on the first few days!!

every single synchronous library science course is scheduled in the evening. which is when i have work and orchestra

#anger. biting #i wanna talk about me #and none of the core curriculum courses are offered asynchronous next semester ARGHH #i get that the assumption is probably that most students have day jobs #and so they're trying to accommodate that by putting all their classes in the evening #but. my second job. is a night job #and orchestra. rehearses in the evening.#because people have day jobs.

unless they open a new class time I'm gonna have to take chem 2 online 🥴🥴 evil but I'll do one w lectures and then chem 2 has more walk in tutoring times.

Still annoyed that the geography class I want to take is on Wednesday like I don't want to drive out there for a less than two hour class 😭 in the morning too

#jackshit #sidenote but all the words at 2pm are from Zoom sprints I did every day of thanksgiving break with my students lmfaoo #so technically that one tracks the time I was working over my break uwu #but i had a surprising amount of kids join me either virtually or asynchronously every day of their break too <3 #and it wasnt required i just bribed the fuck outta them
