A new marauder

Okay so hear me out, what if, after the events Deathly Hallows, George asks Harry for the Marauders Map. He isn't in the mood to create new products for the joke shop so instead he wants to figure out the inner workings of the map. And Harry gives it to him.

But like I said, it's after the Battle of Hogwarts and all 4 of the original marauders are dead. James and Lily had welcomed Sirius into the little routine they had built for themselves in the afterlife, watching over Harry. When Peter died, he was right to fear what the afterlife had in stock for him. Hell knows no fury like the wrath of the one's you've betrayed and Lily had always been ferocious.

By the time Remus and Nymphadora join James, Lily and Sirius in the afterlife, there is no Peter Pettigrew anywhere to be found. And Remus is glad. But before he can really settle into his new afterlife, James is up and running again, greeting another new arrival.

Remus can only spot the fiery red hair so telling of a Weasley and he feels his heart plummet. He can understand James' excitement when he recognises the new arrival as Fred Weasley. Naturally James would be excited of meeting someone with as much raw prankster energy as Fred. And so Remus and Sirius walk towards Fred and James, welcoming him amongst their midst.

By the time George starts experimenting on the map, the four are thick as thieves and even Lily and Tonks must admit that neither of them has ever integrated to such an extend into the group like Fred has done. But both are happy to see the marauders as a quartett once again.

One day while working on the map, George falls into some kind of trance and then unconscious shortly after. When he wakes he doesn't feel much different but he is still next to the map, so he opens it and opens it to check if he damaged it on accident.

Instead of the usual "Messrs moony, wormtail, padfoot & prongs..." he is greeted by

"Messrs Gred, Moony, Padfoot & Prongs"

and he stands there shocked for a whole minute until he closes the map again only to try opening it wrongly on purpose. The first message that appears then is

"Mister Gred would like to inform Mr Feorge that he is very loved and that they will meet on the other side.

Mister Padfoot would like to add that they are taking great care of his brother during his absence and that there is no need to rush.

Mister Prongs seconds Mister Padfoot and extends his gratitude for Mr Feorge's role in the youth of the Prongslet.

Mr Moony kindly requests of Mr Feorge to pass on the love and laughter of him and his wife onto their cub."

George spends almost 2 hours with the map that night. The next day he goes to visit Teddy.

But due to some unfixed damage to the castle, all students staying for the holidays get moved to a nearby scottish town for the winter. About 24 hours ago, I uploaded the final chapter to my first ever multichapter fic Broken.

About 34 hours ago I received a surprise package from one of my favourite people in this world, my wonderful, fantastic friend and beta @hellosweetyspoilers . In it were two beautiful books, hand bound. One containing "an incomplete collection of works" (aka a collection of all the oneshots I wrote and she edited) and one (with a whopping 261 pages) containing this fic, Broken, the reason we connected at all.

I can't even begin to tell you how much this means to me, never in my wildest dream did I think that I would ever hold a book written by me in my hands. I am still overwhelmed. The time, effort, love and consideration that went into the editing, formatting and binding of these books just completely blows me away.

Harry was late. Who is late to a first date?

Draco checked his watch for the seventh time that evening. Potter was supposed to meet him in the Atrium 4 minutes ago. He could AT LEAST send a quick note saying he´d run late. Well, that’s what you get for agreeing to this. It had been quite the surprise when Potter had asked him out, but Draco couldn´t say he hadn´t been pleased. The flirty looks the auror had sent him whenever they met, had slowly driven him mental.

His brooding was interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat.

“I´m sorry?”, said that someone, who turned out to be Harry. A quick glance at his pocket watch confirmed that Potter was precisely 5 minutes and 23 seconds late. He closed the watch and let it slip into his vest pocket.

“You do realize that this was your idea, right?”, voice perfectly cold, mouth turned into a sneer, not showing the nervousness.

“I´m sorry! Kingsley kept me longer than I wanted and I only escaped by literally running off. And then it was running late or showing up in my uniform”

It was then, Draco ran his eyes over his date. The git actually had the decency to show up in something resembling formal wear. Dress pants with a muggle dressshirt and a modern take on wizarding robes. All of them in subdued earthy tones complementing his skintone. Impressive as well as promising to the rest of the night.

“I appreciate the effort and may overlook your tardiness. Now where are you taking me?”

Thats another thing that had surprised Draco: Potter had been adamant about not revealing the location, he had just promised that it would be ‘worth their time’.

“Right”, the dark haired man offered his arm to him and apparated them away. They found themselves outside of “Starlight and Moonshine”, a place Draco had never heard of. It looked cozy and empty. Harry confidently opened the door and beckoned Draco to go in.

The interior was kept in shades of dark blue and black with occasional details in cream white. The absolute best part was the ceiling though, thousand little stars glittered and made it seem as if they were underneath a clear night sky. Draco even recognized some constellations. 

The soft “Draco” pulled him back into reality and he focussed on the man in front of him, standing by a small table. The ONLY table in this whole restaurant. What was going on? They sat down and moments later a waitress appeared.

“Welcome to Starlight and Moonshine. What drinks may I offer you?”, she said, handing them both a drink menu. “I´d recommend a red wine. The pinot noir is especially fitting for your main course.”

That meant Potter had already chosen food when arranging this. Interesting.

“I´ll take the pinot noir then. Thank you.” he said. Potter ordered the same.

Once the waitress disappeared, promising to bring their entrée shortly, the blonde turned to him: “Okay I´ll bite. Where did you get this robe? Where are we? And what´s going on? Why are we the only ones here? Even you couldn´t-.. Okay you could but you wouldn´t.” 

Now was Harrys turn to look smug. “Oh, but I did. And sorry for already ordering, I wanted something very specific and the planning got a bit out of hand. I was promised that you´ll love it, if it makes you feel any better.”

“I´m not worried about the food. If the wine selection is anything to go by, the food will be adequate enough. Doesn´t answer my question though. Where are we? Why don´t I know this place?”

“Just outside of Diagon Alley. And you might not know it as it isn´t officially open yet. They open next friday. And before you think I threw around my name: I didn´t. I just happen to know the owners.”

Before he can answer, they are interrupted by the waitress bringing their entree. “Chestnut soup with port wine and chocolate, bon apetit.” 

They start eating and the conversation drifts off.

“You´ve got to be kidding me!”, Harry laughs.

“No I´m serious! The asshole was so mad at me getting more recognition than him, he acutally threw a temper tantrum. With stomping and flinging himself to the floor and all!”

They had finished the main course and Draco was in high spirits. The food was excellent, Harry was surprisingly easy to talk to and on top of that easy on the eye. Against all expectations he really enjoyed himself.

The waitress appeared once again, switching their empty plates with the dessert, a mini chocolate cake and some ice cream on each plate. The cake was still warm and chocolate poured out once Draco took a spoonfull. The ice cream turned out to be a raspberry sorbet and some high quality vanilla ice. The mixture of the rich dark chocolate cake with the sweet and fruity ice was heavenly. Hadn´t he just had a wonderful full meal, he could have eaten multiple plates of this.

Once  they´d finished the dessert as well, the waitress reappeared and cleaned their table. A swish of her wand send dishes flying and another transfigured the table into a much smaller one, only holding their drinks. Harry thanked her and said he could take it from here. She gave a slight bow and disappeared. 

“If you could stand up for a moment”, Harry adressed him nervously. Confused, Draco got up. Now Harry had his wand out and summoned a picnic blanket. Then he transfigured their chairs into a bunch of pillows. Shaking hands laid the wand onto the small table and he sat down onto the blanket, motioning for Draco to do the same.

They transferred from sitting to lying at some point during their conversation, because now Draco lay inches away from Harry, looking up into the nightsky somehow visible on the ceiling. His eyes flittering to Harrys form next to him every few seconds. Their conversation had ebbed out and they were simply laying there.

“I-.... Thank you, Harry. This was - is - a wonderful date.” he couldn´t supress the sigh escaping his lips.

“I´m sensing there´s a but coming?”, Harry asked, raising himself onto is elbows to look im in the eyes.

“But I still don´t know why you did it. This is far too elaborate to be a prank and -” the git had the audacity to laugh. His face coming nearer.

“Is it really so hard to believe that I just like you?” he asked, voice hushed.

Before Draco could answer, there were lips on his. Maybe it wasn´t that hard to believe.

Drabble

@hellosweetyspoilers​ prompted me to write a drarry fic and I decided to try my hand at a drabble. Prompt: Unrequited love, parseltongue, fluff, Hogwarts and getting out of the closet

Draco had a love bite and Harry was jealous. Not that Draco had it, but that someone else than him had given it. Still, Harry put on a fake smile as his friend sat down. He couldn’t help but hiss “Draco, I love you” though; the parseltongue falling from his lips with ease. 

Draco nudged him, whispering: “It’s a bruise, you know? No need to be jealous”

 Harry's eyes widened. “I’m not!”. 

Draco chuckled. “Sure… I would say I love you too, but I’m quite certain you mean it differently than I do”. 

“What? HOW??”. 

“Permanent translation charm my dear”

wednesday: name a fic which you have posted which you think is underrated?

That's actually a good question. I tend to not really compare my works to each other all too much, because I have some where I know I restrict my readership due to the topics covered in it. So it isn't that surprising that my kink-focussed story doesn't do as well as one of my fluffier stories. That being said: I think of aversion and acceptance (a wolfstar fic) deserves more attention, because there is too little ace-content out there and everyone could profit from it

Imagine if you will: Sirius Black being an absolute player, bedding most of the female population in his year and even some men (but not that many and not that openly) and Remus being JEALOUS™.But Sirius just uses all these people to get over his damn crush for Remus because the werewolf could in no way be crushing on Sirus in return. Until one night when Sirius sneaks back into the commons way after curfew, coming back from a padfoot-run around the grounds, but looking like he just got thouroghly fucked. And Remus just SNAPS; screaming at Sirius, that he should "at least have the decency to stop parading it around! Give me a FUCKING BREAK" and sirius is confused, because why would Remus need a break from him running around the grounds?  but Remus rants on "Every week you fuck another witch for the funsies I guess, coming back here looking like a god damn snack and just showing me what I can't have. I get it! You're straight, you like to fuck around, Go you. Just give me a fucking moment to get over you" And Remus turns to leave the commons. Sirius in turn needs a hot second to grasp what just happened because a) how DARE anyone accuse him of being straight and b) if Remus needed to get over him, that means he currently had a crush on him, which means that Sirius could have a chance ! So he runs to catch up with Remus and reaches him just at the foot of the stairs, grabbing his hands and turning him around. Without thinking he kisses him hard on the lips. A second later Remus pushes him away, anger in his eyes, absolute fury radiating from him "I'm not one of your fucking hook ups, Black. I'm not a toy for you to play with", his voice icy and barely audible, a tell tale sign of impending doom. There is a low growl accompanying his words, his wolf showing its teeth. With his last restrains he turns back towards the stairs and starts ascending them. Remus is on the second flight when he hears Sirius call out "I'm not playing with you, you idiot! I've been trying to get over you for 2 years now!" The voice comes nearer as Sirius ascends the stairs too. "I never thought I'd stood a chance, but Merlin I've wanted you for so long now" Flabberghasted, Remus stands on the steps unable to move. "What?" he shakily asks, head swimming with thoughts. Sirius stops right in front of him, nearly pressing Remus against the bannister. "I like you Remus" his voice is silky smooth, not screaming anymore. "And I really want to kiss you right now" but he doesn't, which Remus appreciates. "Could that at least wait until you brushed your teeth and took a shower, so that tonights... escapades are not freshly on you?" Remus thought his request reasonable but apparently they werent as Sirius starts laughing loudly. Remus hushes him, suddenly aware that it is late and that most of his classmates were already asleep. "I was on a run Remus. There hasn't been anyone in weeks" and he steps forward, pressing remus into the railing and kissing him, softly this time. Remus lets himself get lost in the feeling, kissing him back and burying his hands in the dark locks. "Fucking finally" comes James' tired voice from above them. "Now, can we finally get some fucking sleep? to which the fantastic @hellosweetyspoilers added: “I quite agree Mr.Potter. Although this is all sweet, detention to all of you for being out of bed" said by a tired McGonagall
