man!!!! dsmp fucked so hard. the best way i can describe it is like. theres a lot of technically good media out there. that do things better or less chaotically or more thematically coherent that the dsmp. but dsmp feels so fucking sincere, like. it’s homemade, is the thing. it’s made by them, it’s made by us. it’s imperfect, it’s flawed, it’s honest. it goes beyond its medium and demands that you care. its genius comes from the fact that we’re consuming it together, watching it together, creating it together. it feels a lot like a homecooked family meal, is what i’m saying. love that shit <3

Guys.. the absolute lokius brain rot this episode has given me is insane- and Loki wanting nothing more than to be surrounded by his friends?? Hello?? I am feelings??

some of my favourite parts:

-“You saved my life when I first arrived. You saw something in me that I haven't seen in myself.” THE WAY IM ACTUALLY SOBBING

-Loki, the literal asgardian god of mischief, preening himself before visiting single dad jet ski salesman Don

-deep philosophical conversations ™ with Sylvie

-“if we don’t hurry up they’ll gut us like fish” hehe nice one

-Don/Mobius and the way he kept dropping hints that he was single and on the market 💀💀

-“what do you really want”

“it’s not about what it’s about who” WHILST LOOKING AT MOBIUS HELLO I AM FERAL AND RUNNING UP WALLS

-and just (most) of the plot in general? I might honestly prefer this season to the first one to be honest

It’s wild to me to think that the last time I was inspired enough to actually try and write fanfiction was when Captain Marvel came out, but unfortunately, I never really got anywhere with it. I always have ideas or basic premises, but I never do anything with them. Now with The Marvels out, that inspiration is there, but tenfold lol. I am SO insecure about my writing and I never think it’s any good, but I found this time that after over a month of thinking about it, this story will not leave my brain unless I did something about it lol. I really want to keep going this time until I finish it, no matter how long it takes or how bad I think it may be, and I’m curious to see if I can pull it off. I hope so. That would be pretty big for me.

Just watched RoTB for the second time and I think it has some of my fav g/t moments of all time. This got a bit spoilery and rambling so I put it under a read more to be safe.

Nothing is ever going to top Optimus just grabbing Noah while scolding Mirage and then just… shelving him. He just puts him on a high up platform and is like “I’ll deal with you in a minute”. Then just goes on with his meeting. I laughed way too hard at that scene.

A close second would be Optimus entering the warehouse. The sounds, the sheer size that’s obvious in every aspect of that scene when he’s striding towards the camera. I ended up watching an immersive version the second time around (as in the sounds on screen made the seats shake) and that scene was amazing. I could nearly imagine being the human in that scenario, the ground shaking under my feet as I was approached by a robot creature that was implied would kill me if he wanted. It gave me literal chills!

Tbh everything to do with Optimus in this movie is g/t gold. When it pans past the parked vehicles as Optimus transforms and the top of him is out of frame he’s just that big. And any scene where he’s next to Noah or any other humans, looming out of frame with only a portion of himself visible at a time even if it’s a full body shot for the human. Even shots of him next to Mirage, where there’s a severe height difference.

And then there was Mirage’s comment on his teammates potentially squishing Noah. The implications that they’ve done it before? The emphasis on the way humans really are incredibly vulnerable compared to Cybertronians?? Yes.

And how could I forget Unicron himself. The scenes that showed him did a great job at conveying his scale. He feels so vast and even if planet-sized giants aren’t my thing, I find it impressive as hell.

I’m pretty sure I could ramble for hours about how amazing this movie and the g/t scenes in it are. Even without being the main focus, there was plenty I found to enjoy!

very dearly beloved yet incredibly detested ninjago writers, since you cannot do it yourself, allow me to give you some guidance. introducing: a guide to writing kai

1: childhood. coping mechanisms, emotions, relationships, and so many other countless things are originated from our childhood experiences. show us how kai took charge, how he reacted when his parents left. did he break down crying, suck it up and get himself together for nyas sake? did his fear of being useless and his habit of undervaluing himself originate from the fact his parents had left him? I want to see kai move on as a child and yet stumble and fall at the same time. i wanna see the unresolved trauma please because we all know our boy has lots of that

2: green ninja. what’s wrong writers?? are you afraid to tell us his true motives for him wanting to be the green ninja? it’s because his constant fear of being worthless leaded to his wanting to be the green ninja? was he scared he couldn’t be able to protect those he loved? did he want to be green ninja out of fear of being undervalued and left behind by the team, like his parents left him behind? so many question so little answers

3: bravery through love. kai canonically represents bravery, but the ninjago short only presented this bravery through physical action. kai is one of the bravest in another act as well: love. kai’s continuation of love and care toward the team and kids in general has been shown time and time again in the show. physically affectionate, supportive, understanding, and caring to each ninja individually is literally kai’s thing. he readily loved his parents even though they ‘abandoned them’ long ago, when nya was not brave enough to (valid, btw). he is very vocal on how much he loves people, especially nya and lloyd. he loves kids and animals alike (making friends with dragons, naturally affectionate with kids). he wholeheartedly loves people despite the fear of not being loved back, and despite his childhood trauma, and i think thats the best and most beautiful kind of bravery. and i think if the show points this quality out for those who cannot see it, it would contribute so much to his character. kai is such a loving person he loves everyone i think i might cry
